Hi, this is Alex Cantrowitz.
I'm the host of Big Technology Podcast,
a longtime reporter and an on-air contributor to CNBC.
And if you're like me, you're trying to figure out
how artificial intelligence is changing the business world
and our lives.
So each week on Big Technology,
I bring on key actors from companies building AI tech
and outsiders trying to influence it.
Asking where this is all going,
they come from places like Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon,
and plenty more.
So if you want to be smart with your wallet,
your career choices,
and meetings with your colleagues and at dinner parties,
listen to Big Technology Podcast
or ever you get your podcasts.
Hey, I'm Josh Speagle, host of the podcast,
Lunatic in the newsroom.
If you enjoy journalism that drifts into my old panic,
wild overthinking and a guaranteed nervous breakdown,
Lunatic in the newsroom is for you.
It's news like you've never heard before.
The only newsroom with a panic button, you'll laugh,
you'll cry and gasp and horror
as the show spirals completely out of control.
It's not just news, it's emotionally unstable.
Lunatic in the newsroom, listen today.
Bring me back in the day, back in the day.
So what happened 43 years ago, in 1983, the outsiders,
released with Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze.
It was all of them.
Emilio Estabez, Diane Lane, Ralph Machio, Zetana's Hell.
It was all of them.
They hold it on for huge careers.
Who was the most famous at that point?
Because they're all kind of nobody's in this game, right?
Is it Matt Dillon?
I feel maybe that was just a me having a Matt Dillon
fixation.
What year did Risky Business come out?
I felt like that's like 82 or 81.
But would Tom Cruise do the, I don't remember?
That's 83.
Okay, so Tom Cruise does Risky Business and the outsiders.
I'll tell you this Chelsea, I don't remember Tom Cruise being the main attraction of that.
No, it's not easy.
41 years ago, in 1985, Prince won the Oscar for best original song for Purple Rain.
Yeah, right fully so.
Rightfully so.
25 years ago in 2001, Julia Roberts won the best actress Oscar for Aaron
Brockamitch.
She was so good in that movie.
That was kind of one of those movies though, like you only needed to see it one time.
It was very good, but like that's not something you're going to be rewatching on.
Because she's good, but it's like not the feel good movie in here because of what she
had to do in the movie.
Right.
24 years ago in 2002, a little show premiered on ABC called The Bachelor.
Was that Tristan Trista?
No, no, no.
Tristan Ryan, not The Bachelor, she was the first Bachelor at that's right.
No, no, who would be the first Bachelor, right?
No, he was like season eight or nine.
Oh, was he?
Yeah, he came later.
Let's see.
The first Bachelor, Alex Michael, I remember that name, yeah, because it was two names.
Two years ago in 2024, federal agents rated the homes, the one to Sean Diddy Combs in
Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing sex trafficking.
They find a lot of baby oil.
They found a lot of baby.
And he's still in jail.
I remember seeing all those pictures and they had to coordinate that, you know, to make
sure that they got both homes at the exact time.
That's right.
Yeah.
Oh, I didn't know that.
WNIC, Dearborn to Traits, Time for a Hollywood Minute with Chelsea.
This time around, it is brought to you by David Feminino, David Gephade.
So I was telling you guys yesterday about the whole situation with Alec Allen Richardson,
who plays richer.
He got into an argument and a physical altercation with his neighbor.
He is not going to be facing charges because police determined he acted in self defense.
Now Alec was actually wearing a body cam while this all went down.
So they were able to look at that and see like he was not the instigator and was just
defending himself.
Good to know.
Wow, because when you hear the story, it sounds like a guy was like, you're driving too
fast on your motorcycle.
Right, right, right.
Right, right.
Yeah.
William Shatner says that he's really sad that the new Star Trek series Starfleet Academy
is going to be canceled after its upcoming second season.
He also takes issue with people who think it's too woke.
Hmm.
They keep saying they're going to do a Star Trek movie and you've still got William Shatner
alive and my God, put William Shatner in a Star Trek movie and let this guy be Captain
Kirk.
Yeah.
He's like 87 Comic Con's a year.
He's coming to Motor City, too.
This year.
Yeah.
Oh, he is.
Yeah, have you met Bill before?
No, no, no, no, but I will be at this one.
You will be at this.
Am I working to take, I think I'm working to table?
Are you collecting cash?
Yeah, at all.
Don't I have a job?
That's halfway to Halloween you're doing, yeah, yeah.
Barry Manelow is cancer-free after getting a lobe in his left lung removed.
He was diagnosed with stage one lung cancer last December.
This is the most anyone has ever talked about Barry Manelow.
And I thank you.
I appreciate you.
I appreciate you.
I appreciate you.
Jennifer Lopez called a fan on stage during one of her recent shows and jokingly went
oh, I made a sour face when she found out his name was Ben.
Oh.
All right.
Jennifer.
Jen, well, you wanted Ben back.
Don't forget that.
Dutton Ranch has not premiered yet, but there's already hope that fans might get a crossover
with Marshalls.
So Casey, Casey Dutton from Yellowstone is in Marshalls and Beth from Yellowstone is going
to be in Dutton Ranch.
And so they're hoping that, you know, there will be a crossover because their brother and
sister on the show.
It's too much.
Just, they, good, good job with your success on Yellowstone.
Hi.
Who's name I can't think of our Sheridan?
Good job Taylor Sheridan.
Stop with your 1823s and your 1496s and your 1700s.
Marshalls looks really good.
Yeah, though the only marshes I'm interested in is one that has reduced spices and nice
clothing.
Okay.
Okay.
That part.
That part.
And finally, Disney moving forward with a live action Cinderella spin off.
It is titled Step Sisters, the film will build on Disney's legacy from the 1950s animated
film.
And will obviously just be showcasing more of the Step Sisters than they have weird names
like Jusela or something like that.
Yes.
Yeah.
That could be interesting.
I think so.
I'll tell you something.
I didn't just right now just knowing about it.
I didn't love it.
There's a play like our Broadway musical that's going around and it'll probably be huge.
But it's about what if Juliet had lived Romeo and Juliet?
It's called An Juliet.
Yeah, we just go take a trail last week.
Yeah.
I just.
She's got to die.
Like I didn't care about wicked focusing on and I don't care about that.
But I was like, no, she can't like become a modern woman who goes shopping and she's
just got to die in that story.
That would be like if Jack lived on Titanic and he like went on to break up with Rose and
then we have another life.
I don't want that.
Right.
TV tonight we have Chicago Fire and Chicago PDU.
Or do we want that?
Maybe we do.
Good morning from 100.3 WNIC.
It is still rough going through some various TSA spots around the country.
Some places 50% of TSA agents have called out making wait times four hours.
That is not the case in Detroit, but I will tell you about some of those stories coming
up this morning.
Also Melissa at 3G is going to be in town on stage tomorrow night and use the call
thanks to our friends at Hollywood Casino Accrescent.
We got greet down.
She's going to stop by Alston's bubble is next.
What age are you officially an adult?
All right.
We'll take them up.
But first, weather wise, it's just going to be lovely today.
So that's some good news.
Alan Longstreet will check back in.
I don't think this is new, but I've thought this myself for a long time.
People are living longer, I mean, conceivably, we're going to live 200.
Yeah, maybe.
So when's like your midlife crisis things like that?
It's not in your 40s anymore, because neurologically, and this is not news, probably always
been this way, neurologically, the average person enters adulthood at the age of 32.
So that's been so 60s your midlife crisis?
Well, I'm just saying if you are neurologically are an adult at 32, yeah, I mean, what's
the middle of your life, 25, 30 years from that point?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But 32, that means that 31, you're still not, you're still a child.
Oh, I'd like to go back and talk to myself.
I, yeah.
There's a couple things you might want to change.
I know.
21 and 30.
It'd be so great.
Yeah.
Your brain's not fully developed until what, like 26, 27.
Yeah.
So, so just a little something as you go through life and you're not, you don't have
to, you're a S together yet.
Right.
You're not 32, don't worry about it.
Good.
All right.
