Welcome to the Busted Open After Dark podcast.
I'm your host Tommy Dreamer.
CM Punk addresses his controversial comments over Wild Samoan's Seika, the follow-up,
and I'm going to talk about it right now.
This is the Busted Open podcast.
Here comes CM Punk.
You heard the nice little audio in the beginning of the show.
CM Punk goes out there and cuts a nice baby face promo.
And by nice baby face promo, I enjoy it.
He's wearing his Seattle-based CM Punk shirt, which I enjoy.
Talks about the Seahawks.
It's a nice Seahawks chant.
Everything is moving along forward.
And I got to tell you, humble CM Punk was wonderful.
CM Punk going out there and saying, like, I kind of got mixed vibes thinking of
kind of how I left it off last week, because a lot of people
been talking about me.
And kind of that, I went lowbrow on Roman Reigns.
I'm one of them.
Kind of shocked me how it ended.
And then he kind of told his why.
And his why was because Roman Reigns doesn't respect him.
Roman Reigns has done everything in his power to continue to not respect him.
Also, Roman has gone lowbrow.
Set up earlier after their opening segment appearance, the Usos, as they go to leave.
Interview with Jackie Redmond trying to get your comments.
And then the Usos, like, no, maybe we're going to go talk to Punk.
First time in a long time.
For me, I saw the Usos in a whole new light tonight.
I was afraid of the Usos.
They look like two badass people coming down to kickass.
One was very, very serious.
One was very, very angry.
And I loved it.
I was like, man, CM Punk is going to get his ass dropped tonight.
And I was wondering of who the fans would cheer for.
I think we've all been in arguments.
I think we've all most people.
I don't know, most people, I can't say that anymore.
People have been in physical altercations.
People have been in disagreements with their friends.
When it comes to blows, it's an unfortunate situation.
It affects you for the rest of your life.
In wrestling, not so much.
But we'll just talk and keep it on point.
Usos, Jay specifically, he's the hothead when Jimmy used to be the hothead.
And Jay was the one cool and down.
I loved angry Jay.
There's money in this man that way as well.
He straight up, you owe us an apology.
And that apology was just like, hey, just say you're sorry for what you said.
And then Punk kind of skirts around the issue.
Then it was, hey, you're, we're friends.
You owe us an apology because of what you said about our uncle.
And you're got, it was such a heavy line.
You're supposed to be the voice of the voiceless.
But our uncle has no voice.
And then CM Punk went into a kind of
religious or what your religious beliefs are.
Which is always like, what do we say?
We're never supposed to talk about in conversations with public, with civilians.
You're never supposed to talk about religion.
You're never supposed to talk about politics.
Punk is like, hey, you believe in this.
Didn't say what he believed in.
But you believe that, you know, he's hearing this.
And they're like, yes, but blah, blah.
I'm not the most religious type of person.
And again, the whole going back and forth and like, man,
you're not listening to us.
Just say you're sorry.
If Punk would have said he was sorry,
it would have been squashed.
It would have been over.
Punk continues.
Now you have, as the leader and the face of the WWE,
you have a sold out billing building saying, just say sorry.
Say you're sorry.
And it's like, we will all forgive you.
This is a risky move.
This is a risky move.
40 days outside of WrestleMania.
This is a risky move for when Roman comes back.
Do you think they're going to cheer for Roman now?
Anyway, here comes CM Punk.
And after this big tension and it's like,
we're in your face and we're about to fight.
And it's like, say you're sorry or else.
And Punk says he's sorry.
Shakes the hand.
That's another key.
We're boys, we're friends.
And then Punk like a son of a bitch says,
I'm sorry that your cousin basically has abused you guys so much.
And that you feel you need the need of this.
Let's get the exact words.
Andre, the producing giant, you have the exact words.
So I'm not forgetting or not saying them properly.
I punk, we need you to apologize right now.
Apologize right now.
This got absolutely nothing to do with Roman brains,
but everything to do with respect.
Your entire family and me go back a long way,
a lot longer than a lot of people realize.
I respect Sika.
I didn't know him as well as I knew his brother,
Alpha, I respect everybody in your family
and everybody in your family and return has shown me nothing,
but respect except that one son of a bitch.
This ain't about Roman brains.
We need you to say, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry Roman brains treated the two of you
and the rest of his family and the bloodline my garbage for years
and never once came out here publicly
to apologize for the way he treated this family that he loves.
I'm sorry that Roman brains
disrespected monomy mentors, the great American dream,
Dusty Rhodes, the father of my friend Cody,
when he called him a relevant and is somehow
not on the hook for apologizing, but I am.
I'm sorry that Roman brains has tricked you
and the rest of the Samoan family and all these people
and everybody watching around the world
that he gives a single damn about any of you
or any of this because if he did,
if he cared about you or the people or me
or this company or this business,
I'd be standing in the ring talking to him right now
instead of his young boys.
Oh man, this is really, really, it was great.
It was great television because
CM Punk got to say top three in the world on the microphone.
CM Punk stood his ground, CM Punk held his position
and CM Punk is saying exactly what
his opinions are, he's also CM Punk is right.
When he didn't say no, the fans are pissed at him,
you heard it, but then when he had his follow-up
of the reason why, which we just heard,
it's like I'm supposed to be held accountable
yet Roman reigns isn't.
He disrespected dusty roads, all the stuff that he said
and Punk is right and the Usos have their blinders on
has nothing to do with their relationship with Roman
has respect and their heritage for their family.
We all talk about the Samoans and their heritage
and all that stuff.
So it's like this is such a fine line
and a great line for the argument.
It's literally who's right and who's wrong
and the fans have to decide.
Punk got them over with that last line
where these are ones where
man, you either have to take the high road
or are you dying on this hill
what we say in professional wrestling.
It is such a great area, but the, you know,
the more you think about it,
CM Punk is right in what he feels is correct
and just listening to the reason of his why,
I got aside with him.
I don't know if the rest of the WWE Universe does
and how they spin this is going to be
even more interesting because hey,
Roman's not there, but Roman will be there.
Roman will be there next week
and to see what this reaction is
because Roman at times
has towed the line of being a babyface.
He's also towed the line of being
one of the better heels of all time
but he's also had so many different factors.
Why would a guy who looks like the way he does
works like the way he does need
his wise man and his, you know,
and the bloodline, he was a user
and he was a user of other people's talent.
So he has his own twisted reality
and seriously, these are the hardest parts
when you have arguments, when you have
arguments with people that you like.
Now the other end result, push, push,
punk goes to
get Jay or get in his face
and he gets dropped by Jimmy
and no remorse from the Usos
and I think there's half a building
that feels that CM Punk deserve to get punched in the mouth
and I think there's another half
that are like, hey, you're wrong.
If we're looking at accountability,
I got to ask the nation, who do you feels right?
Who do you feel is wrong?
Is the line too heavy?
Or there's also something as the world champion
as the top guy in the company.
Do you take the high road?
Do you apologize to your friends
and then move on and explain to them
before it got to that
and say, this is the reason why
and that entire segment flips
and you become the bigger hero
and they become aligned on your side.
That's the easy route if it was not pro wrestling
but if CM Punk would have said, I am sorry
if I disrespected you, I'm sorry if I disrespected your family
that same family that I have the history with
and I'm sorry in front of all these people
that I offended my friends
because he also basically said in that argument,
I'm better friends with Cody
than I am with the two of you.
If you really want to break it down,
the Usos would have accepted the apology
and then he would have said, hey,
just so you know, I wish I was saying this to Roman
because if Roman actually
and done that entire thing differently,
it would have been, oh man, I love this guy
and I will fight for this guy
and I will go through a wall for this guy.
However, that wasn't the case
and as always, when I'm doing this show,
I have to go for my
analyzation of what I saw,
my analyzation of what I heard.
So this is week two where even though I feel
CM Punk is right in his argument,
he's left a bad taste in people's mouth twice.
It is such a roller coaster.
It's brilliant because it really does prove
what CM Punk said best in the world
and being best on the world is part
of being best on the microphone.
And I don't know who could have
played that segment any better
outside of perhaps the wise man Paul Heyman
because it was a heavy deal.
It was a great ending of conflict
to Monday Night Raw which without a build,
without it was great carrying over from last week
but no massive build, no
there, not this like short
or long carried out thing,
they went right to the point.
Apologize or else and then it went and I'm
telling you I've seen this at parties,
I've seen stuff like this go down.
It was one of the more realistic
situations I've seen on Monday Night Raw
in a long, long time and I freaking loved it.
However, I'm now more interested to see the follow-up
with Punk, Jimmy and Jay
then I am for with Roman
because then it's going to be where to Jimmy and Jay
stand with Roman and then if they join
with Roman then we're going to get baby phase bloodline
might help Paul Heyman because his group
has kind of gone to crap.
But again, we have to weigh it way
and see the course of where this went
but where this went was an excellent
in-ring promo that fell very, very real
to end Monday Night Raw.
Coming up next, it's finally over.
Judgment Day has happened and Finn Baller,
the OG is out and I'm going to talk about it right now.

We're talking about judgment day and an act
that was formed by edge.
Think of that.
On April 3rd, 2022, an OG member,
Finn Baller.
He's part of this.
Then he turns.
He lays out edge 6-6-22.
I know there was a lot of controversy back then
because the group was just getting over
and but they kind of needed edge to be the baby face
and you know he really took those Damien Priest, Finn,
Rhea, so many moving parts.
And then I remember everyone kept on.
They keep losing.
They keep losing.
They keep losing.
Then they start winning and that group really
in the last four years has given us
you know close to four years.
I've given us world champions
dominate every segment.
This last version has been really really plagued
with a lot of injuries.
And you know three and a half years later,
Finn tonight is laid out in the same type of fashion.
Starts off with a pre-tap or I could say starts off
with a last week because Dominic lost his title to Penta
and he basically calls out Finn.
Calls out Finn, where are you?
Let's go to the audio.
Maybe your dad was right.
Maybe you are just a spoiled little prick.
Oh, JD trying to defuse the situation here.
Wait a minute.
And a slingway to Dominic.
A Finn snapped.
Oh, and intercepted by JD McDonough.
A limp Morgan.
And Raquel Rodriguez getting involved in the fray.
And I'm shocked to JD.
Everything Finn's done for him and his career.
And I'll afford one assault of Baller.
Listen, I'm not a massive Finn Baller fan,
but he does not deserve this.
What happened to being a family?
Baller was right.
Unfortunately, he's the odd man out.
Well, Dominic now with a steel chair.
And he's got that hammer.
The hammer that he wanted last week.
But Finn Baller prevented JD McDonough from giving to him.
And Finn trying to fight back.
Kind of was over his livelihood.
Oh, and right off the face.
Finn is out cold.
Finn is helpless.
No.
Baller's already out in helpless.
JD McDonough holds it down as well.
And now with a hammer loaded in his boot of 619
in the face of Baller.
So there you heard it.
Dominic, JD, live, Raquel, they turn on Finn.
We have been talking about the breaking up of the judgment day
for a long, long time.
And we just didn't know when.
And when it finally happened, it worked.
And it got heat.
I will tell you, I've loved this version of Finn Baller.
Finn has an edge.
Finn having this edge to him, he needs to continue that.
Like we're talking about CM Punk.
Like he's just a different type of baby face.
Dominic got heat.
It's key for Dominic.
We don't need a cheering Dominic.
I say this before I say this again.
Dominic one day will be cheered out of every building.
You will love Dominic, but not right now.
This is the best version for Dom.
And Dom's growth and continuous rise up the ranks within WWE.
Now we still have these moments.
And you heard it when live attacks and starts punching Finn.
When Raquel starts getting some shots in.
I love how they also layered this up,
where Finn is fighting back.
And JD is trying to be the peacemaker.
And then we have some physicality.
Hey, he's going to hold him with a chair.
I mean, he's going to hold him while he gets a chair,
kick to the face.
And then hey, we're going to take you out.
And then JD gives this close on.
And JD gave that close on man.
It was just a different layer to the old school.
Like, hey, let me raise your hand.
Hold Kogan and I'll close on you and get heat.
You gave the baby face a fight back.
It worked.
You heard the crowd.
And there will be more ramifications with this.
Right off the bat, like we said, or I said last week.
Who could be the first person to help Finn?
Dan Housen.
And like I said, and I'm not tuning my own horn.
In one week, Dan Housen has gotten over from one of the,
I would say the second worst debut in the history
of the WWE to Monday doing the curse.
Till Friday, I know I don't want to talk too much about you
because I don't want to get cursed.
I have enough issues going on.
And the thing with the Miz, when he said his catch phrase,
they're already catching on.
He's the number one seller in WWE.
So kudos to you and kudos to the hiring
or the people who suggested him because of course,
when his debut goes very flat, then it's like, oh,
there's people that didn't want to hire him.
Well, now you have egg on your face.
So whatever the case may be.
But if you could tell me that Finn and Dan Housen,
and Dominic, because Finn will be the worker.
And it will be an entertaining segment.
And as well as if you could get demon Housen in there,
would be amazing.
But back to all this, this has been brewing forever.
This has been brewing.
There's been so many different members of the judgment day.
This has been brewing since even when Carlito was in the group.
And now what?
The other now what is Roxanne Perez?
I know she was out with injury.
And she's been, I don't want to say forgotten about,
but she's not involved in the storyline.
Where does she stand?
If you're going to go with her at all,
or do you just keep her off till WrestleMania,
you just have to start all over again with her.
Because these are unfortunately, when you get injured,
your comeback is key.
And want to have the best possible real estate for you.
But tonight worked.
And the best part about it is Finn got sympathy.
And you felt bad for Finn.
The last time I felt bad for Finn
was when they put the world title on him.
And then he got hurt and they took it off.
And that was when I felt bad for him.
Because I was like, God, this guy finally made it
and then it all got taken away from him.
But I haven't felt that way in a long time until tonight.
And I love the Frog Splash.
I love the Frog Splash with the chair.
I love the 619 with the hammer.
I thought that was very innovative.
And would have loved to have seen blood.
We saw blood last week with Paul Heyman.
Would have loved to have seen blood.
Because if you get 619 with a hammer in your shoe,
you're gonna bleed.
But that's just me.
And if a lot of people have ever taken that 619 from his father,
yeah, sometimes you do have blood.
Because he brings that where this all leads to as well,
will there be another member of the Judgment Day?
Which I hope there is because this Judgment Day
is something that has generated so many top talents
for the WWE.
And it's such an easy insert and play here.
I think if also anybody can use going back
to the Judgment Day, it could be Damien Priest.
But that's just me.
He seems to be a lost talent.
And overall, I love this segment.
And I love the fact that Dom is getting booted out
of the building rightfully so even when he grabs a microphone.
I love live doing live things.
Her promos are great.
They're very, very reactionary.
Her laugh is so like you hate this girl.
And live is another one.
Kudos to her because she gets heat.
And I love love when people get heat
because it's two ways about this, right?
It's very, very easy to get booted,
but it's not easy to get heat.
Just like it's very, very hard to be loved.
So it's definitely a thing.
