Bruins' McAvoy Scores OT Winner in Thriller

The Boston Bruins picked up a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings at

TD Garden on Tuesday night.

Charlie McAvoy wasted no time, scoring just 39 seconds into the extra frame to seal the

victory.

The goal came off a sharp stretch pass from Mark Castellic to David Pastrenack at the

blue line, who then hit McAvoy's streaking in for a slick backhand, Deek Past Darcy

Quimper.

McAvoy had dealt with facial surgery from a puck hit back in November and even left the

game briefly with an abrasion, but he bounced back strong for.

The third period in overtime, earlier in the third, defenseman Mason Lowray put the Bruins

ahead, won nothing with the wrist shot from the right circle off a pass from Hampus.

Jeremy Swayman was sharp in net, stopping 14 shots for his 25th win of the season, matching

his NHL career high.

The King's spot back late when Drew Dowdy tied it at 1-1 on a one-timer that deflected

off a Lyesland home skate.

Los Angeles was riding high after a 5-4 overtime win at Columbus the night before, with

Quimper making 22 saves.

Fans are buzzing about the Bruins' incredible 13-game home-winning streak, now sitting

at 36 wins, 22 losses, and 6 overtime losses.

Swayman also stonewalled Scott Laffton's shorthanded breakaway chance earlier, keeping

Boston in control.
