In this week's episode, Bryony has loads of amazing makeup tips. In fact, her eye makeup advice has completely revolutionised how I'm doing my own and inspired me to spend way too much money at Space NK after recording.
We're also talking about my hormonal woes (and why ovulation feels exhausting at the moment) and we couldn't leave out our new Bonk! book club podcast and where we've been reading our latest naughty book.
Enjoy Outspoken Beauties!
Hello. Hello! You're there, you're there. I think I feel like we're both tired.
Probably, yes. I think we've got a lot of going on, haven't we? So it's a bit like,
but in all good ways, all good ways. I went to an event this morning and I could feel myself
falling asleep during it. It was in the cinema. Oh god, that's the worst place because
it's just like snuggly and warm and dark. Well, it wasn't dark, but it was a panel talk
and the seats were really comfy and I sat in the front row and I could feel my eyes closing
and then I looked and one of the women who was on the panel, like the woman in charge was looking
straight at me. Why are you sitting in the front row? You absolute squat. You've got to go right
at the back. I always stood at the front. Do you? Yeah, it's from my school days. I was always keen.
Oh, I've always, I mean, like I'll sit in the front like the other day, I went to a mask class
and it was a friend of mine. So I, you know, to hackle, heckle her, heckle her, heckle her, heckle her.
A few of us sat in the front so she could see us, which, you know, I just wanted to see our faces
and stuff, but otherwise, no, I like being in the like middle back. I wish I'd been in the back,
I could have snuggled down and I'm just exhausted. What is going on? I really hope I'm not pregnant.
I feel really pregnant. Oh, my God. I can't be pregnant. I love the fact that you're announcing
this on the podcast. Well, I'm not pregnant. I just, you know, when you just feel a bit homony,
like I feel a bit there, a bit near. Maybe you're getting your period. I'm not. I can get around
off your nation, I wonder. I don't know. I have no idea. I'm literally not a doctor. You're
also a normal person. I'm checking in with you, Brianie. So far, I think it was very tired,
and that she could be pregnant. Do you need next week to find out whether or not she is?
I love the fact you've just announced that to everyone. Can we just, can we just take this
a step back? There's been no announcement. I'm not announcing. I really did sound a bit like an
announcement. I've already had a friend of mine tell me that she's pregnant today, which is very
exciting. Yes. It was lovely. It's really nice when you've got all your, it's so sweet. I kind
of always feel like the person on the outside, like looking in because I've had so many of my friends
had their babies really young. So when we were in our 20s, and then now my kind of like newer friends,
let's say, rather than like my school friends, my newer friends are all in their like 30s and they're
kind of getting married and then having their babies now. So I'm like, oh, so I was saying goodbye to
my first baby who went off to Thailand for his first trip and he's 20. And I was checking him
with my godson while I was in Thailand and he was on the phone to me and I was making sure he was
all right. And my other ones now, nine. And then I've got all these new babies coming. It's great.
I'd love to be your god child. You'd be such fun. It's funny because all your friends are doing
this and my friends are around the age now where they're probably soon will start getting divorced.
I know. Well, like, yeah, I mean, the first law kind of at that point. Yeah. I think I who's first,
I'm waiting with beta breath. I know. That's really, I know. And then you're like, oh,
God, which one do we choose? Which one do we choose? You got to choose the side, don't you? Oh,
God, I just don't want this to happen. I really don't want it to happen. And now we have a few
things we need to talk about. Yeah. First of all, obviously, our other podcast, just in case you
hadn't known, Briannie and I now have our own podcast as well as this one, which is called
Bunk Book Club, Bunk the Naughty Book Club in like, this is actual name. And we, so we're now on
our way to a minute. We're on our third book now, aren't we? We've just started our third book.
You said it was the third episode the other day and it's not. We just launched the second episode
because we did a mini episode. Do you remember? No, that doesn't count. Oh, okay. Sorry. Sorry,
for some reason. I apologise. It's fine, but come and join us on our book club over there.
Even if you're one of these people that secretly likes, you know, Naughty books, but it doesn't
really want to talk about it, you can still just listen to our stuff and enjoy. I was reading
our current, no, our current Naughty books, the Naughty is so far by far. I mean, it's next level
Naughty and quite shocking. It's quite shocking. I'm learning so much from these things. I'm like,
I'm realising how vanilla I am. Yeah, me too. No, me too. I need to go and get some kind of like
mask or I don't know. I don't know. And like this one's making me feel very, very boring and very,
you know, I'm like, maybe I need to have a mask or do you want to know what other things can
you get? Maybe a whip. I take you to Ansela's, Brian. I just, I really don't enjoy being hurt
or whipped and stuff. I'm not, I, I bruise like a peach. Yeah, well, there are some people
that would, it would appear. Well, I mean, it's just book, just a book, but obviously there's,
there's an audience for this. But I, I was on the tube this morning. It was really, really,
really packed. And I just thought, do I carry on reading? It's on my little, my phone kind of,
but obviously people can see. I was just so hooked. I couldn't stop reading. And it was a really
Naughty bed. It's really embarrassing because I would, I often will look over and see what
someone's reading. Yeah. So it's kind of like hilarious. It's so fun, though, isn't it? It's like,
it's just, it's, you're in your own little world and it's quite amusing. But it's also just
encouraging people to, especially if you just need a little bit of a break from certain books.
You know what I mean? Like, I quite like mixing up my books. I like to have, I don't know,
maybe a little naughty book on one side. And then I like a little crime novel on another. And
I kind of like to go back and forth between different books. A little, a little bit of Tolstoy
on one side, a little native, naughty sex on the other. Yeah, why not? Yeah, that'd be quite
funny, actually, the literary high low. My mom's, my mom's joined the book club and she went,
maybe I should, maybe I should offer one of your books as one of the options. I went definitely
do it. She'd be amazing. All of these like older women in this kind of, she's like, oh my god,
honestly, she went, they asked that one of the books was more flanders. She's like, it was so boring.
I don't want to carry on reading it. She goes, I remember reading it many years ago. She's like,
well, why are we reading such boring books? I'm on ladies. No, yeah, she's, she's, she's refused.
She's like, I don't, she's, some of them are really dull. I just don't even want to bother
read them. I was like, oh, come on, put in some effort. Give them a naughty book. Might make them
absolutely love it. Yeah, come on. Do you know what I'm saying, actually? Like the older women,
I think, really, there's a lot of hornyness going on there. Women are horny, I think. But then
I was saying that someone told me that if you are above a certain age, you're not meant to use
a vibrator, because it can damage you. And someone had gone to a section and they said,
if you're like over 70, you can't get out of a vibrator. I don't even have that. Yeah, I need
to look into this. I can't be true. It doesn't give you an age restriction. No, I, I, I
don't know. Wait, should we ask chat GPT? Go on, then the source of all knowledge.
Can you be too old to use a vibrator? No. That's a question has never been asked before.
You know, if you ask questions like this, it will often answer them. Realize it shouldn't be
answering it. And it'll suddenly say, I'm sorry. Oh, people of all ages can benefit from
sexual wellness tools. As people get older, they might need soft or gentlest emulation.
Devices that are easier to hold and products. Yeah, okay. You remember my invention? I came
up with a while back. Yeah, I remember you said that, but have you not seen Grace from Frankie
that amazing programme on Netflix? She invents like vibrators and stuff for women of a certain age.
But no one is the one. It was the three in one. So it was like vibrator plus emergency
SOS caller plus it was like a video thing. So when you weren't easy as a vibrator, you could call
your family and say, yeah, I just think that's a disaster to happen. Absolutely.
Disaster. We phone people on FaceTime while we're just about to go to the toilet or something.
They're horrendous. It's really funny chat GPT. So I was talking to my sister and she was like,
I asked Chappie, I can't even say it. I cannot say. I called it GPT chat and everyone was like,
it's not. I was like, okay. Anyway, I was talking to my sister and she's like, so I asked
chat GPT. She said, I was going for like a meeting with someone and I just wanted some pointers
of what I should discuss with them and stuff like that. And she's like, honestly, she is the best
hype woman ever. She's like, oh my god, she's American. Poppy's one is American.
Oh my god, I'm so loving that for you. And don't worry, you're going to smash it.
So funny. Poppy's like, she's such a good hype woman. She's so nice. She's so friendly.
She's always like, and then she's like, would you like me to put it in an easier way for you to
read? Or would you like it that way? And like, you can ask her questions going, maybe a little
bit simpler. She's like, okay, girl, I've got you. It's hilarious. Did she all speak to you?
Because mine is like, I haven't, I haven't chewed it. I need to ask her about how she's done that.
But like another friend of mine, it was so funny. The other day, she was like, I literally
talked to chat GPT every day. I was like, you do know it's not a real person. She's like, I know,
but I just find it really comforting. And I just talked to it. And like, they talked to me back.
And I just find it a really calming thing to do. And I'm like, oh my god, this is what it's come to.
We're talking to robots. It's quite, like, there are obviously, like, we are not saying people
should do this because I have to, like, it's really worth it. People are doing it. The other
thing that I had, right? And I don't know whether or not I should feel insulted by this. But I had
someone quite close to me go, oh, we went on chat GPT the other day just to get some style and
some, like, makeup and hair tip ideas. And I walked where. And I was a bit like,
I do know that I'm a makeup artist, no, I do this really. But anyway, I kind of kept that inside
and didn't say anything. And I went, oh, right. Well, so basically, they told me to use
like, kind of like these kind of color tones. This is my palette. And I went, yeah, I agree.
And I was like, I don't technically agree with that one. I said, oh, yeah, I definitely don't think
you should be going with these tones or this color or this, this, and this. And she was like,
yeah, that's exactly what they said. And I went, yeah, it's funny that I do do this job because,
but that's because it's taken the information probably from you. It's so funny. But I was just
like, that's so funny that, but I think that happens a lot. And I'm not dissing, you know, this
friend of mine doing this at all, because I think it gets to a point where you do get a bit of
embarrassed. It's a bit like, you don't want to go to your doctor friend like, oh, I've got this
weird rash on my arm because you think that that's all anybody ever asked them when they tell them
they're a doctor. And I think people think that because I'm a makeup artist, they're like, I want to
don't want to ask because she probably gets really bored of answering now. So they're just going
to turn to chat to you. And just be like, what do you think is a picture of me? And I was like, babe,
I'm more than happy to help you like, but in a way, it's because they've had an outside just
point of view. It's like, they want to listen to that more than yours. Oh my god. Honestly, people
are turning to it for all sorts. But I must say, because on Friday, we had a little photo shoot,
didn't we? Yeah. Yeah. And it was at my house. And I was really like, you were so cute, but the
makeup artist was running a bit late. And you did my hair. And it was the nicest thing. And it was
like, I met this different Ryanee, because I've never known you in that capacity. Like, I've known,
obviously, you do. Yeah, yeah. But you were so good. You met her only that get shit done, basically.
This girl is late and no offense. She should have been here half an hour before anyway. I was like,
as far as I'm concerned, if she was a friend of mine, I would be having words with her. But she
was very sweet. She came and she was a great makeup artist. She was really good. But I was like,
half an hour late for a job is not great. Yeah, professional brini. You don't see that. You don't
do that. I do. I do. If I'd been half an hour late, really. I mean, there are times where I've
been a little bit late or something, but I'm one of these people that will get there. Like,
I would be sitting outside your house for an hour.
Which you. Yeah. Because it gives me too much anxiety knowing that I'm not. And also,
with our job, it's like, we've got to get stuff done for other people to get on with their job.
It's such a knock on effect. Yeah. Yeah. And if I'm late, then they're late, then that person's
going to be late. And then, do you know what I mean? And it's just like, I don't want that stress
on me. So I'd much rather be there way on time, even if I'm just sitting there waiting for someone,
you know, a lot of the time, a lot of it is waiting around. But no, God, I have to.
Well, you, I mean, you did my hair super speed. You, you were on it, brini.
Well, that's very kind, but it would have taken even longer if bless us. She'd done both. So I was
like, let's help a girl out. You did. I was good. I was like, you know, she's a working makeup artist.
She needs the job. So I like, you know, yeah, let's get it. Let's give us some work. Did you,
um, did you enjoy our photoshoot? Oh, it's so much fun. You're very good. I was kind of changing
up and smiling and stuff. You were quite strict and quite stern, not stern, but like your,
your photo face was like model. Well, she told me to, I didn't know you were like,
I was like, yes, whereas I fucked about a lot. I just did what I was told. There's one,
there's one photo you're looking at me adoringly in it. I know. I saw that. I thought it was really
cute. It's the cutest thing ever. That will never be seen, probably, which is so lovely. I know,
I actually really liked that one. I was like, oh, maybe we could just have that one anyway.
It's very exciting. We will announce what that photo shoot was for, but it was very cool. I haven't
had many photoshoots where it's about me, so it's really exciting. It's so exciting.
We're going to go straight to beauty because basically we've both been running late and
I think I've got to go. I've got to get my son from school. I've got nothing more to give
in my arsenal. My arsenal of stories has run dry today. The word arsenal, could you please explain
what that means to me? This is the first time I've ever heard that word, my arsenal of stories.
Is it like my collection of stories? If my arsenal of books have an art collection. It's
benty. My tank of story. It's the word arsenal. Is it still with guns? I know it's to do with guns.
I'd really like to retain that information. Someone today, while I was at a job, they were like,
God, you've got a great memory, haven't you? Yes, but for useless shit, not important stuff.
I will know where I made someone up or I've been to that level of office before. I remember
what someone was wearing sitting in that seat 20 years ago, but that's not helpful. I don't
need that stuff. I want to learn interesting things like words. They might stay with me.
I mean, funnily enough, our dear friend, chatty GPP. Chatty GPP. Chatty, chatty jippata.
Chatty jippata. Number one, weapons storage. Number two, and this is my use, Brianny,
figurative use. More commonly in everyday language. It means a collection of resources or tools.
Someone can use example. She has a whole arsenal of skills for solving problems. Number three,
football club. There you go. Yeah, that's what yeah, I was thinking of. Oh my god, I'm so going to
try and use that in a sentence today. Okay, yeah, sounds really intelligent. Anyway, I know that
you're busy, but I will give you a little story. Oh, thank you. It's also, I know you're really
busy and tired, so I'll chat. It makes a change. No, I actually have a start. Well, I don't really
have much of a story, but normally I have come slightly prepared. So yesterday, I took my mum out
for a lovely Mother's Day day, and I just thought, my mum's having a hard time at the moment.
There's a lot going on behind the scenes, and I just really wanted to spoil her run. And I took her
for a brunch, which was really nice. And then we went to the number one Mayfare hotel where they've
got Bamford products. So that's spars Bamford, which I love. And it's all geranium. So we went and
had a massage, a Swedish massage, that massage, that address, and the bed, the massage bed. Okay,
now it's not just a normal massage bed. Yes, okay, it's heated. Yes, okay, the fee go up, the head
goes up. That's normal. What they have is a section before the bit that you put your head in,
they have a little section that's like a hollow for your boobs to go in. Never. That is a fucking
genius invention. And I said to the woman, I went, I guarantee a woman made that. She was like,
yeah, probably. And then it doesn't just stop there because I've had that. That's why I chose to
go back there because I once went there for a thing. And I went back there, but just for the bed,
because to have a massage when you've got big boobs, they just spill everywhere. And it's really
annoying. So you literally just pop them in this little dip and you're like, oh my god, this is so nice.
But then when you flip over and they do the back, you know, the front of the back or whatever,
all right, you come down, it inflates into a pillow. So your head rests on the little boob thing.
It inflates as a pillow. That is genius. I mean, what a bed. So do you, were you brawler? So did
you kind of like put your boobies in the little hole? Yeah, because normally on a massage bed,
you just lie down, don't you? And you have your head in the hole. Yeah. And you just lie there.
And it's all one level. But with this one, it's just great. It's right in the place where your
boobies was going. It's a little dip. And then like I said, it just inflates. She went, oh, I went,
yes, you've got the dip. And she went, I'll deflate it for you. So she deflated it, put my boobies in
there, felt lovely. So they weren't getting completely squashed because when they do your shoulders,
they're literally wrestling quite hard. And you're like, oh my god, I feel like my boobies are
about to burst. Not with this, not with this bed. So that was thrilling. And I was very happy.
And then obviously they were like, which oils do you want? Because they give you like a
recipe, they give you like a menu of oils to choose from. Obviously I chose Duranium.
Duranium. I was like, babe, there's no getting around that. Give me that oil right now.
Smothered myself in that, then we had just such a lovely afternoon. And then I went and took my
mum to code eight's brand new shop, which is just down the road, like you just opposite the
rips, basically. And you go in there and you can get a bespoke lipstick making kind of lesson.
Well, it's not really a lesson because you're not learning about basic Sasha, who's one of the
main kind of sales assistants there. She literally looks at you with your coloring,
what you want your lipstick to make you feel like. And she will make you a bespoke lipstick just
for you. What now, let me guess, was yours a ready orange? Correct. Correct. What was yours?
So was my mum's actually. So my mum always goes for a bright colour. And she was like, I'm just going
to make one for you. Let me know your thoughts. And obviously she can then like add a little bit of
softer or go over stronger or whatever. So you say you want like a neutral or a nude. And last time
I went there, I've actually been there before and I had a nude made for me. But she was like, I really
want to make you like a beautiful like 90s brown as well. So she just literally whipped up this colour.
And I put it on. I was like, stunning. She was like, I'm going to put that in a little part. That's
just an extra. She's, I mean, how can I make me look at someone's affection like that and just be
able to to choose that to smash it. And there was another woman that came in next to us who was
very fair and had kind of like quite orangey kind of ready hair. And I was like, she's hard to pick
her lipstick for because obviously you naturally do it with our job anyway. And but the most of the
time with makeup, I'm mixing it to make the perfect colour for you, which is what she's doing.
And she smashed that woman's colour. Oh my god, that's stunning. She gave her really beautiful like
like very moisturizing glossy nude. But it was had just the right amount of peach and just
the right amount of pink to make her colouring look really flattering. It was stunning. But what
nice, they give you a glass of seco, you sit at the counter, you get to try and the lipstick,
you can say it all can have it a bit darker. I don't know, I like it more of a matte texture or
you know, a more glossy texture. And then you walk away with your very own bespoke lipstick. It's
so cool. Such a cool thing to do. And Cody actually don't sell an awful lot like a huge range of
lipsticks. And they do that for for a purpose because they won't be able to come in and have this
like amazing service. And this really unique service to them. And I loved it. I think it was
like now I had it done years and years ago. And what I couldn't believe was that they were putting
yellow and stuff in my lipstick. It was like, I was at school with all my paints mixing them
together. It looked like fun. Exactly. But obviously it was being done professionally. Can I just say,
I've just had an email, what is this? This is really, what did you? Oh, okay, it's just an email.
It's not like, okay, meningitis, urgent meningitis outbreak in the UK, what you need to know.
I thought it was like from the government or something. It's just an email from some, I don't know what.
Yeah, I'll just go. I don't know. It's okay, they do. It's okay. Everything's okay, Nick,
look at your breathing. It's okay. Don't panic, don't panic. I'm panic and I'm not panic and
it's fine. Everything's fine. Yeah, it's absolutely fine. No, so I just thought, and it's also just
such a nice thing to do if you're going for a hendu or if you're just going for like something with
your bridesmaid or just a birthday present. The lady signature next to me, her mother-in-law
brought it for her. So she came in on her own. She just came in at six o'clock after work and
just had her own lipstick made for her. And I just thought, what a great, what a great thing.
That's lovely. And then I surprised my mum, my little sister arrived and she was completely
surprised by poppy arriving. So she was like, she nearly burst into tears because she was
expecting it just to be me and her. And then when we got to the restaurant, my other brother and sister
was sitting at the table. My mum was like, oh my god, you're so lovely. What a look, you know,
I really hope the one day my kids did that for me. How beautiful. Oh, it just made my heart feel.
I just was so nice for her to have her kids. And she's like, and I said to her, when was the last
time like the four of us? Because obviously we've all got partners and children, except now.
And I just think it's so important sometimes just to bring your parents back to the joy of
having just their kids with them. Like, it's lovely having everyone. My mum loves it. But it's
it's just nice to actually be able to be with your siblings as well without donors.
Yeah, it's just, it was really lovely. So my heart was filled. You are such a nice girl. What a
lovely, lovely thing to dig. I feel really bad now. Well, I wasn't supposed to make you feel bad.
I just feel made. I'm really happy. To be fair, I totally forgot about my mum woke up for
Mother's Day. And everyone was like crowding around me in my house. Like it was my birthday,
it was getting cards and presents. It was all lovely. And then I got a message from my mum.
Happy Mother's Day, darling. It's Mother's Day. My mum needs a call. I know, yeah. Yeah. God,
that's the thing. It gets really, yeah. I mean, it's a bit confusing. There's so many moms
around the place. So yeah, put them on. So it was very, it was very nice. I'm just, I'm just
glad, you know, sometimes we just need to spoil people and I'm glad that she felt loved and
spoiled and seen by her children. Yeah, that is lovely. And bam, the bam for things,
that's amazing. And because on Friday, when you came around, I'd lit my bam for
Draenium candles because I knew you'd like them. And they were glorious, weren't they?
Stunning. I just love it. It's a really uplifting. They mix theirs with, I think,
eucalyptus as well. So it's quite an uplifting. She said, if you're going out after this,
it's better to have a massage with an oil that's more uplifting rather than, like,
tiring and lavering as well. Yes. I feel like that's a beautiful product.
And I just thought, you know, yeah, it was just nicely something beauty-related,
but something a bit different. And it's just, yeah, I really, it was lovely.
Anyway, what's your beauty things of this week? Well, today I interviewed a perfume,
a bloody, oh my god, I've got no name, no, no, no, is it Natalie Masson? So,
right, there's this fragrance called Orpheon at Dipteak. And it came out, I think,
in, oh my god, when was it? It might have been 2014. It's not that old,
but it's meant to represent the jazz club that the founders of Dipteak used to go to.
And they go there pretty much every day and have meetings there. And it was next door to their
boutique. And it was, so this fragrance, so it's Orpheon Ode Parfant because when you go to Dipteak,
you'll, you'll notice some of the bottles have black labels. Some of the bottles have white labels.
Yeah, just to remember, the black ones are the Ode Parfant. And the white one's stronger,
they're stronger. And then the white ones are the Ode Toilet. And I didn't know this till fairly
recently. So the Orpheon Ode Parfant is very, so it's got a bit of juniper in it, so it smells of
like gin and tonic. And there's like a little, there's like a deep dark wood, which is meant to
represent like the wooden sides there. And it's got, I think it's got rows in it. And it's like
meant to be like night time jazz club. So you're, I really, I actually smelled it the other day in
Harrods, because it's, it's the latest one that's just launched, right? So I'll tell you, so the one
you smelled was her one, which is the Ode Toilet. So she told me Orpheon Ode Parfant is like,
imagine, it's later in the night, you've like had a few drinks, you're having fun, you're dancing
in the jazz club. Harrods Ode Toilet is meant to represent arriving at the jazz club at opening
time. All the sides are sparkling, you're having your first G&T of the night, maybe about to have
your first cigarette, and you're looking around you, and anything can happen. So there's excitement
ahead. So French, right? And what's your name, French? And feeling so French right now. So it's,
it's got the personality and the characteristics of the deeper darker one, but there's things like
green mandarin in it, which give it this, and pink pepper, which give it this like excited
fizz. Anyway, it was really nice when I tried it. I was like, it smelled really nice. Some of them,
I'm not, I'm not a fan of their last one, which is that lovely, that colour of the bottle was like
a teal blue. So that's the Orpheon Ode Parfant. What? The blue one was the Orpheon Ode Parfant,
and you, so they are different enough that you look at this one, because it's lighter and brighter.
Yeah, I was going to say I didn't like that one. It was a bit too much for me, but it's just
fun. I loved it. Oh, I'm positive. There you go. Natalie would love to know that, because it's
absolutely interesting. I mean, a lovely chat about what it's like being like a female perfume,
does it just ever feel like, because it's a very male dominated world. How does that make
a feeling? Oh, just fascinating, but I really recommend this new one, because it's so gorgeous,
and it's a really bright, sunny day today, and I felt like it really kind of, it fizzes,
it's, mmm, love it. And also, Ode Toilets, you think they're not going to last. This one really
lasts. I just find diptych, oh, great at lasting. Yeah, I find that with their candles as well.
Yeah, their candles really last. Yeah. And their smell is really delicious. I had a rose in
geranium one, funnily enough. And I'm obsessed with that candle. But they're quite strong as well.
So you actually only need to really burn them for a couple of hours, then blow them out, and then
just have the smell and the smell really lingers. But lovely, I love, I mean, diptych is such a classic.
It is very expensive, though. That's one thing a lot of people would say. So it is expensive, but
you know, it's like a lot of, I mean, I went into Fort Norman Mason's yesterday and I went upstairs
to the perfume section. I just love it up there. And I have fallen madly in love with one of
pentalagons ones. It's, it's been around for a couple of years now, and I'm still haven't bought it.
But it's called love. Oh, I know, it's the love one. It's got a really lovely wave spelling it.
Is it love or out of view? Is it one of, is it like, was it lovely or something? Well,
there, I think it's a new collection. So, basically, you know how they've got the portrait
collection, which has all those gorgeous gold animal heads. Yeah. With these ones and more like,
they look more like potions and they're all kind of like handwritten. And there's one that's red,
and they've got another one that's just launched as much more greener. It's actually really lovely,
the, the latest one as well. But the one that I love is obviously it's got rose in it. Of course.
And it's called love list or love something. Oh, love love. Oh, I need to try it.
Gorgeous. I'm literally like, and I've got Duchess Rose, so I put both them on together.
But Duchess Rose is much more of a kind of like, more of an evening wintery smell.
Yeah. Where is this love one? It's way more of a, it's actually much more light and uplifting.
So I might have to get it for spring. But it's delicious. And I also had a question for you.
So like, I love the way you do eye makeup. And they've got like, my eye makeup's gone a bit.
I don't know what's happened to me recently. I've forgotten what I'm doing. What do you use?
Like generally, as in every day, as eyeshadow, I know you change it up. But like, when you came
for the photoshoot, for example, what, because it's really, is it like, what'd you do?
So I like to keep things very simple. Like today, I've just got on cream shadows sticks. So I
just really enjoy cream shadows stick because I just find they last a really long time.
If you put your foundation or concealer on first, then you're going to get it to crease.
So try really hard to not put anything on your eyelids. Or if you do them, make sure there's
a powder on first. So you're setting it. But I like to just have completely clean eyelids,
nothing on it. So they're not going to crease. And I tend to go in with like, just a very kind of
like neutral brown. So which is quite boring, but a no shimmer to them either. I just really enjoy
that kind of lovely kind of swady color at the moment, if you want something very neutral.
And then just take it a little bit higher up. So it's basically forming like a base product for
your eyes. And then I either go in with a slightly darker brown or a brown eyeliner like the
Hildon liners, you know, those. Yeah. They're beautiful. So that one, what I would do with that.
So once I've done all over my eyelid and taken it quite high up to my eyebrows, there's still a
little bit of a gap. But you need to, especially when we get a bit older, to take it a little bit higher
because our lids are falling slightly. So you need to make sure that you can still see that color
so don't be afraid of taking it further up. And then I would take it, yeah, either a kind of small
little brush and I would just use the end of the cream shadow stick as an eyeliner, but very softly
kind of across my lash line. Or like I said, like the Hildon liners are great. So just take one of those
like either spice pecan. There's a lovely, slightly more like burgundy color, like a ready burgundy,
which would look really nice on you actually. And you'd literally just take it across your line,
but it doesn't have to be perfect. And then go and smudge it up, like really blend it.
So you've got this lovely kind of sm- yeah. So you've got a lovely smudged natural liner.
And then just go in with some mascara. I also, anything left over in the brush, I do take a tiny bit
underneath my lash line as well. Just so I've kind of got a little bit of kind of structure around my
eyes. And do you, you don't do a feline flick, do you? Not, sometimes I do, but on an every day,
not necessarily. I mean, I sometimes will wing it out a little bit, but again, just with a smudge
kind of vibe. And then anything, if you're worried about it kind of smudging out a little bit,
then just take a little bit of concealer on a brush and just really like get that angle right.
And then I just go in with like mascara, because I just find it just makes everything a little bit
softer and not so heavy. I find if you go in with like, I mean, I know that you really like a liquid
liner. And I love a liquid liner, but I don't do it that often. I do it when it's a really
specific look that I'm going for. And I just think every day, just kind of keep it soft and a bit
smudged. It just makes it all a little bit more natural looking. Yeah, I think I'm going to try
this. I think I wanted to, I have tried it in the past and I've enjoyed it. So I think I'm going
to try it again. But thank you. What is it? What's your, your shadow? What, what shadow stick?
I love the Veeve ones. They're beautiful. So Veeve, we've got shimmery ones and matte ones,
but I do really like so that she's got one called camel. Bobby Brown, I've got a beautiful one
called hazelnut, which I really like. Our Marnie do a really nice, like a bit more of a brownie
one called cashew. I think it's called, is it called cashew or cashmere? Something like that,
but it's quite a brownie color. But again, those ones are more of a like, you can have
they're a little bit more liquidy, so you just blend them out. But just don't be afraid of it,
because I think that especially looking at like Oscars and all the kind of award ceremonies and
all the red carpet looks, everything's just a very soft wash these days. Nothing's too heavy.
It's all about having really fluffy lashes, a really soft line. You know, everything's very
blurred. And I think that's the same with the lips. You know, I'm, I'm really enjoying this kind of
blurred lip liner and natural lips and kind of very chewy cheeks. I just think it makes you look
quite a lot younger, but it also makes you just look a little bit fresher. Yes, I think that's,
it's the freshness, isn't it? And what was it? Oh my gosh, I wonder what question if you're about
all this little, yeah, mascara. What gives that fluffy mascara look?
Oh, well, I mean, it's my favourites at the moment. What was the one I, oh yeah, I went back to
Urban Decay. Actually, the Urban Decay eyeshadow I'm wearing at the moment is really nice. They've
just bought out a beautiful selection of eye shadows, cream shadows, and there's a really nice
brown one in there that I use a lot, actually. And it seems quite dark, but once you've blended it,
it's not that dark at all, but that's a really nice one. I can't remember the name of it. Urban Decay
do a lovely mascara called... Perversion. Perversion. That's amazing, but my all-time favourer,
I think, would have to be sweet. Yes, sweet, mascaras are amazing. I love the cloud. One,
I've been wearing that a lot, and it doesn't smudge. This is a good thing to know. It's not
watery, but it just doesn't come off. It's brilliant. But I was actually saying, I really can't wait
to have a little play with a bit of colour coming into spring. And MUA, I've got mascaras that are
a bit, like, five quid, they're under six pounds, and they've got car key, they've got a cobbled
colour, they've got a navy colour, they've got a blackberry colour, and that's quite nice. So you
can still do your eyeshadow and everything, very softly, like I explained, but then why not
team it up with maybe a colourful mascaras to go with like a blackberry or a brown or a car key,
like change up the colours. By any, I needed this chat so much, I feel, do you know what I'm
going to do, and I need the time for this, I just, and I actually, I feel like I may get you
over for this, and you are going to love it, by any, because we're going to go through all my
makeup one day, and you can help me chuck stuff out. I love it. No, I actually generally do,
I really like doing that with people. I just love it so much. I could be quite brutal,
but I can't help myself. I would love it. I've got, I want to, at least you asked me,
didn't ask GPT chat. Do you know what, yeah, that's one thing. Yeah, they probably, I mean,
that's one thing, I'm not, yeah, I'm not going to, I'm not going to, I appreciate you asking me,
I appreciate you. You're in, Bryony, you're in my arsenal of experts. Oh, thank you, I mean,
you're arsenal of experts. You're in my arsenal. And on that note, I have to pick up my son from
school. I'm so sorry. And it's been, it's actually been honestly fascinating. I'm really excited,
I'm going to go, I'm going to buy some makeup later. And I really want to go and try that
perfume. You described it so well. Well, you do know what, when I see you next, I'm going to
bring it along. And if you love it, I'll give it to you. Oh, well, that's very kind of, you don't
get to do that. I can go and get my own, but I just, I'd like to try it on my skin. I didn't do that
the other day. And I should try it. I love it. It's very you. And definitely go and look at the
love one from Penn Halligans. Yeah, I'm going to. Amazing. I love you. Love you too. Bye. Bye.
