It's April 4th.
Welcome in.
This is MLB News Today, where baseball meets AI.
Byron Bucksdon got taken out of the twins' home opener against the raise after taking
a pitch right on his right forearm.
The team called it a contusion, but X-rays came back clean, no breaks or fractures.
It happened leading off the seventh inning when right-hander Kevin Kelly's 91-mile per
hour fastball clipped him near the elbow.
Bucksdon didn't stick around, heading straight to the dugout.
James Outman came in as his replacement and wasted no time, stealing second base right
away.
Tough break for the veteran slugger on a day when Target Field felt extra brutal.
Earlier this week, the cold snap hit hard, too, with first pitch at 38 degrees and a wind
shield dropping it to around 30.
No wonder arms tightened up out there.
Fans are breathing easy knowing his bruises for now, and Bucksdon should be back swinging
soon to keep the twins rolling.
