According to our fellow locked on host here at the end of March doing a mock drive here
to wrap up the month, Jeremiah Love is likely going to be available at number seven.
But I'm still not sold, the commanders have to take him if he is.
You are locked on commanders, your daily podcast on the Washington commanders.
Part of the locked on podcast network, your team every day.
Welcome inside locked on commanders, I'm your host David Harrison, your guy on the ground
and on today's episode.
Our final mock drive Monday of the month of March, we're going back to the office of
side of things, but it's not running back from Notre Dame, Jeremiah Love, and we enlist
the help of other locked on host, you see who might be available at number seven, besides
the Notre Dame running back and getting right to it here, our mock drive Monday, final
mock drive Monday of the month of March looks like this, wide receiver, carnel, Tate out
of Ohio State at number seven, then at number 76, that's right, number 76, not 71, 76,
we'll get to that here just a little bit, center, Connor, Lou, out of Auburn, number 147,
Nicholas Singleton running back out of Penn State, number 161, Ephesians, Prysock, corner
back out of Washington, number 187, Traymore Linebacker from Texas, number 209, Robert Spears,
Jennings, safety out of Oklahoma, and in number 223, we go Domani, Jackson, corner back,
out of Alabama, that is how this final mock drive Monday of the month of March, panned
out, and like I said, got a little bit of hope, or a little bit of hope, a little bit of
hope from our fellow locked on a host here, from the network what I did is, because of
wash manners or drafting, number seven overall, so it's not that big of an undertaking, although
it is a little bit of undertaking, went out and listed the help of some of my fellow
locked on hosts here to do this week's mock draft, starting off with number one, obviously
Fernando Mendoza, quarterback out of Indiana, and your boy, Q of locked on Raiders, Las Vegas
radio, all that stuff, did have a whole lot to say, basically, you know, this is kind of,
it's the pick that the Raiders are going to make, right, like that's what's going to
happen here, so we don't need to dive into that, too, too, too deeply. So for a lot of
people, the 2026 NFL draft really starts with the New York Jets, some people that actually
starts with the Tennessee Titans, and what they decide to do, but the New York Jets here,
John Butchgo, of locked on Jets, came through into selection that he made for the team,
that he covers for this network, David Bailey, edge rusher out of Texas Tech, and I know
that there's a good amount of you out there who love David Bailey, thought that he might
be there number seven, he comes off the board here personally, I had to go on our Val Reese,
but I'm not locked on Jets host, and I believe I do not pay near as much attention to the
New York Jets as John Butchgo, so he goes there, and what he said to me was, quote, there's
no quarterback worth taking seventh and overall agreed, and the Jets desperately need edge
rusher help. I think Bailey is less of a project than our Val Reese and is likely to be
a truly elite past rusher than Ruben Bane, Jr. So that is end quote, that is why John Butchgo
of locked on Jets goes that direction, so that brings us up to number three, the Arizona
Cardinals, and Alex Clancy of locked on Cardinals goes Francis, Maui Goa, offensive tackle
out of Miami, Florida, says quote, while some may see it as a reach at three, Maui Goa
is set to be the top right tackle in the draft for years, the Arizona Cardinals have struggled
to put together and above average, online, Paris Johnson Jr. needs a book and run
in May, and Maui Goa is size and strength make him a great to counterpart and quote,
Paris Johnson is their left tackle there for the Arizona Cardinals. So no matter who is
going to be the quarterback right now, it looks like Kobe Percent will see how the future
unfolds and all that stuff for the Cardinals. Alex Clancy locked on Cardinals has them
going tackle, which means after the first three picks, you have no Ohio State Buckais
coming off the board. You got all these Buckais, it's not a single one coming off the board
in the first three picks. Fourth overall pick, Tennessee Titans, this is where I had kind
of long thought that Jeremiah love might end up. Instead of going Jeremiah love, Tyler
Rowland of locked on Titans goes Arvel Reese, he takes advantage of that fall edge rusher
linebacker, whatever you want to call him, defender. He's a defender at a Ohio State
Tyler Rowland saying quote, Reese may be a project, but he's a project that Titans should
invest in. Robert Salah is one of the most creative and successful defensive minds in
the NFL. So if anyone can solve the Reese puzzle, it's Salah. Reese would immediately boost
the Titans defense as a chess piece who can double as a stack linebacker on early downs and
then be a speed rusher on passing downs. Many Titans fans will pine for Jeremiah love,
but Reese has the same game changing ability on defense. And quote, so that's why Tyler
Rowland goes Arvel Reese, which means New York Giants, like that's kind of like if you're
a Jeremiah love guy for the Washington commanders, this is kind of where you're like, okay, like
do where do they go? And they go basically the way that I think they're going to go in
the real thing, which is linebacker, sunny style, out of Ohio State Patricia trainer of
locked on Giants, making that pick. And she says quote, sure, Jeremiah love would be the
sexier pick for the Giants. But remember, head coach John Harbaw believed in the three
pillars of football, which are stop the run, rush the passer and run the ball. The Giants
will do two of those three on a fairly consistent basis in recent years, but the one area they consistently
have struggled with achieving consistency in is stopping the run styles can help them with
that a converted safety of cells and space styles has elite level speed that will help him
with filling gaps quickly and roaming signline to signline to prevent opposing running backs
and turning the corner and breaking into the second level. And quote, and I'll tie right
now. It definitely fits the bill. You'll look at what the Eagles like to do a safe one.
They like to get them out there on the edge. If they can certainly can run him up the middle
as well. Dallas Cowboys trying to do some of that. The Washington commanders certainly
look like they're going to try to do some of that. So it definitely fits the division that
they're going to play in. So Jeremiah love continuing to fall here. Number six now Cleveland
Browns are on the clock. Spencer German locked on Browns take Spencer Fano offensive tackle
at a Utah says quote, the Browns have two glaring needs at the moment tackle and wide receiver.
And while trading back, maybe the best way to maximize the pick, finishing off this
online rebuild with a player who has experienced it both right and left tackle is worth it. A lot
has been said about Fano's arm length. And a buddy has yet let us isn't the block the
least high brushers. Cleveland fills a major hole and circle back on a wide receiver with
their second first round pick. And quote, it's pretty good observation there from Spencer
German. There were some news coming out Sunday night here shortly before we went live here
at the Cleveland Browns. We're supposed to be signing edge rusher AJ Fanesa, but decided
to back out of signing him after his physical. So maybe, maybe they they might go edge here
Ruben Bay and junior potentially going to be an option there for the Cleveland Browns.
But bottom line is that's how the first six picks go. Thanks to our fellow locked on
host here on the network. Of course, that's just a little bit of taste. We'll have our network
wide special coming out in the month of April where we all go through picks, but there
will be some trades and all that kind of stuff. So the top five prospects, really six
prospects as I go to I go five position groups, six players running back. Jeremiah love
from Notre Dame. Obviously is right there at the top of that list. You've got edge rusher
Ruben Bay and junior out of Miami, Florida. You got safety Caleb Downs out of Ohio State.
You got corner bag man, sort of lane out of LSU. You got wire to your car and altates
out of Ohio State. So that's our five. We stick there with five. We're not going to bring
in that six one. So those are the five guys that you have on this list. Three out of those
five are defensive players, which would tell you that there's about a 60% chance that
the washed manager can go defense here in this situation. But instead, I'm actually going
to go offense with car and altate. And I think that's something that we need to acknowledge
here because Spencer German, when I did do this exercise, when I first texted me, actually
texted me back and said, can I trade and you know, put a laugh, laugh out loud or something
like that on there. And look, we're not trying to make this too complicated because we've
got the full mock draft from the network coming up. That's where we can get a little bit
complicated. But made Spencer pick at six. That's the direction that he went. Certainly you
can see for no being available at, you know, 10, 11, 12, something like that. So potentially
could see the Cleveland Brown straight out of their hands. That leads us to the next
point of this conversation because I can already see and hear some of the comments saying,
why would you take car and altate at number seven when you can just trade back and still
probably get him? Well, the reason I'm going to tell you that is because I talked to
not one, but two Saints beat reporters, including locked on Saints, host, Ross Jackson, who
told me that if the Washington commanders pass up on car and altate number seven, there's
a very good chance he's coming off the board. That number eights to the Northern Saints.
However, had this conversation with him about Man's Sword of Lane previously. And if the
watchman is passed up on Man's Sword of Lane, there is actually a likelihood that the Saints
don't go up there and take him. So the fact that the Northern Saints could potentially
be sitting behind the watchman is looking for car and altates means that I believe the
Northern Saints are definitely a threat to potentially move up with the Cleveland Browns
at number six. So if you're in Cleveland Browns, if you can move from six to eights, you
know the commanders aren't taking that tackle. So if you can move to eight and still get
your tackle that you want and collect a little bit more draft capital to do so, you're
probably going to do that. And who knows, I got to mention this last week with the whole
John Lynch thing. John Lynch has a little bit of a knack for trading back one spot and
it drives fan base is crazy when they see their team move up. It's just one spot because
they wonder what the point was. Don't be surprised with Cleveland Browns. If they get a call
from the Northern Saints, they call out and Peter said, Hey, dude, we're about to move
back with the Northern Saints, but you can come back up. You can come up one spot too.
You just got to come up with a little bit of draft capital back. I don't know if I would
recommend it, but that is something that we need to be aware of. Cleveland Browns, I think,
is a they are a really good spots to potentially trade back just like I think the Washington
commanders are in a good position to trade back as well. So I think six and seven, if I had
to predict where the first trade of the first Browns is going to go, I'm probably predicting
it's going to go with one of those two picks, but in this mock just because it's too hard
again, like I said, put all that together on short notes. We don't have any trades that
have a seven. That means Tate is there and we're taking him over Jeremiah Love and all
those other players, those defenders. Why? That's coming up next on today's episode of

So moving on with our mock draft here, by the time we get to pick number seven, a lot of guys
are off the board, David Bailey's off the board, sunny styles is off the board,
few people are off the board, running back, Jeremiah loves still there, Ed Russha Rubin,
Bane Jr. Still there, safety Caleb down, still there, cornerback, man sort of laying still there,
wide receiver, carnal tape, still there, we go carnal tape. And this one, we're going back to
the offense. And again, we're going to say, why don't you just trade back? And if you're going
after carnal tape, you really can't trade back because New Orleans Saints, like I said,
not one, but two beat reporters. And look, the reporters aren't perfect. We're not infallible.
We can be wrong certainly. But both of the beat reporters that I talked to and I talked to
them separately. I didn't talk to them at the same time. And like that, they both pretty much
immediately said to me, yeah, dude, he's going at number eight if he's sitting there. So,
you got five or six players at the top of the board. We're going five here and in this mock.
I like some grabbing carnal tape. And no, it's not just because he spent time with the watchman
or his brass because they also spent time with Caleb down to spend time with Sonny. So they
even spent time with our about recent, our about Reese's and coming near them. So while it was
interesting that they spent as much time as they did with carnal tapes, that is not the
lone reason. And no, not because I got a one on one with them. So now all of a sudden, I'm star
struck. He's my favorite player ever. No, carnal tape is definitely a player that has been on our
radar. If you're never there and you've been through these mock drafts with me, you already know
that because this isn't the first time he's been our mock draft pick, except now we're doing it
without the trade back because again, now we've got new information. And that's what we always
talk about every single one of these. We have new information that we're folding in and see how
it changes things. Knowing that the Noreland Saints, again, according to our two sources that
cover the team daily, say that he's probably coming off the board. If you want carnal tape,
you got to go carnal tapes. And I think he's obviously the best guy for this team in this position
right now. You talk about best player available. You talk about filling needs. I've always told you guys,
it's more of a vend diagram. And you want to nail a player that's right in that middle part.
Not that vend diagram because while you need a lot of good players, the bottom line is I think that
when you look at consistently good players, they have top-end players at edge. They have top-end
players at the wide receiver position. And of course, you always want to have a quarterback. The
washcomers believe they have a quarterback and Jane Daniels. I believe they have a quarterback and
Jane Daniels. Hopefully most of you believe they have a quarterback and Jane Daniels. If you don't,
I don't know what to say with this, a whole different conversation. We're not going to have it right
now. But outside of that, if you need, if you can open holes, like I'll just tell you this,
my biggest reason for not going to Jeremiah Love here is the running back position is so
dependent. I go back to Ashton Gentia. I go back to Safe Juan Barkley in a couple of the down
years with New York Giants. I go back to pretty much every running back in the National Football League,
except for one or two here and there. And they're dependent players. You have to be able to create
holes for them. You have to be able to create space for them. Well, here's the thing. From seeing
Bill for one year, and we watch the tape, obviously, if him coming out of college and covering
Rashad White for a couple of years, airwriters in Tampa, even though he's not a premier back, a
primary back, whatever. It's on you right now. If you can create holes for Jeremiah Love, you can
create holes for Bill. You can create holes for Rashad White. And you saw this offensive line.
Granted Tyler Beodish doesn't going to be here, but the rest of this offensive line intact. And
you saw them open up holes for Bill. You saw them open up holes for Chris Rodriguez Jr. without the
threat of them being three down backs, without the threat of their quarterbacks being under center,
and having that hard play action and those types of things. So again, if you can create space for
Jeremiah Love, you're going to be able to create space for these other backs to operate. Remember,
one of the things that Bill has that is very underrated is a great vision. We saw that from the
very first time we saw him on the practice field, great, great vision out of him. So if you find,
if you build like if you build a hole, he's going to find it kind of to steal from a baseball
reference. So that's why we're kind of coming off the Jeremiah Love Train. You have one
and a possible top end edge with the Daffy Oway on the roster at Doran's Arms Show. We're playing
a little spade's map here with the edge position. Come back from his injury. Absolutely, but when
you count the D-Lime and on the roster, you got a Daffy Oway, Dietrich Wise, Yvonne Kenlock,
Doran Payne, Johnny Newton, Doran's Arms Show, and Kalebont Chase on Charles and Manahue,
Tim Settle. That's nine players who are returning starters or newly signed free agents who are
newly signed to a way in a way that you expect that they have a very good shot of making the initial
53 man roster, right? Never say never, but all those things. That's nine guys. And you haven't even
gotten to Drake Jackson, who you know and Adam Peters loves. You haven't gotten to
Jementation on Baptiste who's coming off of an injury of his own, but has shown some really good
flashes before he getting hurt. You haven't talked about Ricky Barber who did really well in his
opportunities in 2025. Haven't talked about Shy Tuddle who the team brought back. So I just don't
see the room. Even if you trade Doran Payne, you still have a ton of defensive linemen already.
And you have more honestly already that you can say I can see him making the 53. Then they're
probably going to keep on the 53. Even if you trade away Doran Payne. So, no to David Bailey,
no to Ruben, Jant Bane, Jr. there. I just I see a too much of a clog, too much of a top heaviness
going on there. David Bailey is off the board now. We don't know why I said that. Ruben, Ben,
Jr. We're not going to go there again. Just too much of a clog of the top there. So really
you have three names remaining after that. Man sort of lane, Caleb Downs, Karnel Tate. Only one of
those guys can create on his own bottom line. All three are dependent to a certain extent,
right? All three of those guys played dependent positions. But receivers can help create opportunities
for themselves. They can create opportunities for others. And I think David Blow's offense needs
that field stretcher, opposite of Terry McCloren. They also need a Terry McCloren successor.
All right, we've talked about this. They've got a natural outbuilt into the contract after 2027.
They've got a out that they can actually have in 2026 after 2026 as well. So they need somebody
who can be a running mate to Terry right now. Yes, but they also need a guy who can feasibly,
potentially become that new Terry McCloren when it comes time for Terry McCloren to stop being
Terry McCloren for the Washington commanders at a man sort of lane on the other side of the ball.
Doesn't improve your pass rush at all. And kind of like Jeremiah Love, if you've got enough
pass rush on this team, which they've got these 9, 10, 11, D lineman that you can project being
on the roster, that's going to allow your aggressive DBs. Trey Ames, Mikey Saint or Silla,
Mike Robertson, and now a color witherspoon to play that way. And each of those guys has shown
the ability to play that way and do it well if there is a pass rush in front of them. So again,
man, sort of lane, you'd love to have him. I love to have him. I think it's a great player,
but he doesn't add anything to your defense. He just takes advantage of what you've already got
on your defense. If you believe these guys can already take advantage of it, you kind of already
have that that quality, right? Adding Caleb down. So that does help your defense actually make
sure defense better helps it from a cause and effect type of standpoint, right? He can cause
some things. He can also take advantage of some things that are caused by other people.
Adding tape helps your offense from that same cause and effects type of stance. So for me,
the debate really falls down to those two guys. Caleb Downs can car and L tape, but don't forget
that Dorontay Jones and his introductory press conference on his own, unprompted,
brought up Juan Martin by name multiple times and about how much he wants to use him.
The Juan Martin we saw at Illinois is not the same Juan Martin we have seen in Washington. We've
seen flashes. I think in large part, in my opinion, due to being miscast, he's not been able to
showcase everything he's capable of doing. If Dorontay Jones is going to cast him differently,
then I think that absolutely makes a difference. They also just extended Jeremy Reeves.
You know, Percy Butler is loved on that roster and in that room,
Will Harris isn't likely going anywhere. So you got five safeties with those three guys.
You've also got Martin and you got Nick Cross. So again, five safeties is exactly how many they had
on the active roster last year. So you've kind of got this log jam at the position if you go there
in the first round. They've also had five cornerbacks to the initial 53. You got Amos,
Saint or still, Robertson and Witherspoon right now. That's four. Now if Juan is moving more into
the slot, then maybe that's five there. So basically you've got room for one more DB. But remember,
Dorontay Jones is also very complimentary of Tyler Owens. So I'm not saying no jobs can be open.
I'm just saying that if you're going to go top pick, usually what you want to do is go top pick to
a place where you can say, this is exactly how we're going to use this guy. Not he's going to come
in and compete and maybe this guy or maybe that guy or maybe this guy. First round picks are
supposed to be solidified. We know where they're going. I would consider a cornerback,
less the cornerback room, less crowded in the safety room, which fits man's sort of lane. But
the bottom line up front is you have no future number one potential corner. You've got two
future potential number or receiver. You have no future potential number one receiver for this
wash commander's team. You have two potential number one corners on the defense in tray Amos and
Mikey Saint or still as far as I'm concerned. You have no top shelf number two player on the defense
are on the one in the receiver room. Keep flipping these. Sorry, but you got two very solid top
shelf potential players in the cornerback room. And I would say one, you got one potential top
shelf safety in Nick Cross, one really good safety potential in Juan Martin and one veteran leader
Will Harris along with Jeremy Reeves, so on and so forth. So given all that, I think Tate and Delayner
basically the two that you're really arguing between and they represent the groups that need the
most out of this selection. And Tate is the one who I can say can create on his own and take advantage
of other people's creations, giving you a shot of the future along with right now in 2026. So
it's not to say that I don't like man's sort of lane. Obviously I do. He's been on plenty of
our mock drafts. I love Jeremy. I love the low Caleb downs. I do. I like all of them equally
at this stage. I think it's really the point where I look at the players being the best available.
Combat that with the combine that with the team's most glaring need. Being a receiver to produce
with Jaden Daniels moving into the future. He's got no running mates moving into the future.
To me at number seven, because New Orleans is waiting there at number eight to take him if you don't,
it picks gotta be carnal Tate. But this is mock draft Monday and mock draft is a full mock draft,
not mock first round Monday. So let's get to the rest of our mock draft coming up next right now

Commanders for W USA 9 dot com. Now we made the first pick carnal Tate number seven overall
at 71. I see an opportunity to move back. Northwestern offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan
is the top player on the board at number 71 and the Steelers need a young tackle to develop
for their offensive line knowing that. And then you got Laramie Tonsley got Josh Carly Jr.
The Commanders and Magnus Anderson say you can't have a young tackle either, but knowing that
you can get a fifth round pick tax out of the deal. I believe you can tax the Steelers enough
that you can get the fifth round pick number 161 move back to number 76 and end up gaining that
pick. And if there's a bidding war for Tiernan because he's the top tackled up on the board,
then you might be able to get even more. But I'm not going to go too crazy here. Small tax
for the Pittsburgh Steelers sends Washington's pick number 71 to the Pittsburgh Steelers
number 76 and number 161. And at number 76, I'm now good taking Conor Lou center out of Auburn,
even though we're taking him coming off of a torn ACL. So he's likely going to need some time to
really get going, really get his NFL legs underneath them because you're getting that fifth round
pick on top of it. And you got Nick Allegretti and you potentially have Brandon Coleman come in
there and try to compete for that position. I'm more comfortable bringing Conor Lou in who
without the ACL would probably be a much earlier third round pick or even a late second round pick.
Lance Zerline's NFL.com profile just because I haven't done full workups of all these players yet.
We're going to lean on Lance a little bit. Quote, natural bender with better foot quickness and
athleticism than he shows in the Auburn run scheme. He has strong hands and a strong cord to neutralize.
He can bump and climb with good fluidity. End quote. Now at 147, we go back to the running
back room. Here, this is actually where we add to the running back room. I know the watchmeers
have already added a lot to the running back room this off season. I told you when they brought
back Jeremy and Nick Nichols, I just I kind of see a lot of redundancy there. And when you look
at it, man, 2027, the watchmeers have one running back under contracts. That is your quarry cross
camera. I think they got to change that. So Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton. I think
he's kind of my David Blau project, right? If I if I'm dead, when I think one of the things I
want to do is tell my coordinators like, you need a project every year. Whether it be a draft pick,
a UDFA, you need a project. You need a guy that you take under your wing and say, this is going
to be what we work on. Penn State running back. Nicholas Singleton. I think can be that guy for
David Blauzerlein says, quote, his size and speed will get attention. But it's ability to return
kicks and play on third downs. But ultimately earned him a roster spot as an RB three. End quote. I
think it's great competition for that group there. And in 2027, the name of his possibility that
bill and Nicholas Singleton are a very good duo for the Washington community. Moving to number 161,
we go Washington corner back. Ephesians price stock. Zerlein says of him, quote, he stays more
connected when he can press and displays good acceleration, make up speed. When needed, his
traits and field awareness fit well with short zone shell coverages. End quote, 187. We come back
on the board. Texas linebacker, Trey Moore, who Zerlein says, quote, more showed potential at
off-ball linebacker. But questions persist about his pursuit speed and ability to cover in the NFL.
Some teams might label him a tweener. But I see a versatile prospect who's competitive and feel
for the game show allow him to translate no matter what position he plays. So you like that
versatility. You like that athleticism from from price stock. You like the length and the and
just just fits everything that I think you look for in a Doronte Jones defensive back 209.
Robert Spears Jennings, the athletic safety out of Oklahoma. He's been kind of a common
player on our mock draft. Zerlein says, quote, he has the size and toughness of a pro safety.
He's quick to dive in and fill the run near the line. End quote, and then 223. This is our Doronte
Jones project. If we want to call that Alabama corner back to Monty Jackson, like I said, true
teaching project for Doronte Jones has all the tech has all the tools, I should say, need some
confidence, need some technique, need some education. This is where Doronte Jones turns on his teaching
chops and makes this thing happen. Zerlein says, quote, Jackson is a smooth athlete with good size
and elite track speed and totality. The playing production have failed to match the trade
stadium back to his days at USC. But his 2024 take gives evaluators the best look at his ceiling.
And that is our mock draft Monday here to wrap up the month of March. Carnell Tates,
Connor Lou, Nicholas Singleton, Ephesians, Priceock, Traymore, Robert Spears, Jennings,
the Monty, Jackson. Next time on Lockdown Commanders, we are here in Phoenix for the league meetings.
