Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson just wrapped up a breakout year with more

than 1,000 receiving yards, his first time hitting that mark.

Now he's heading into the final season of his rookie deal and could be up for a contract

extension.

The team already locked up tight in Trey McBride with a big new contract, calling him a key

piece of the future.

General manager, Monty Austinfort, made it clear they view McBride as a leader who does

everything right on and off the field.

Austinfort has similar hopes for Wilson, saying he loved the keep him in Arizona for the

long haul.

Fans and analysts are buzzing about whether this could turn into another homegrown star

staying put.

That said, there's no rush to get Wilson's deal done right away like with McBride.

The Cardinals might wait to see his play this season, or use tools like the transition

tag down the line.

As training camp kicks off, all eyes will be on Wilson to build on last year's success
