Hello there, are you all snuggled in and ready for a story?
1:13
It's a very special Christmas story
1:15
about a little friend we're going to meet.
1:17
Okay, let's get started.
1:19
Oh, look, here he is.
1:21
This is our new friend, the little Christmas tree.
1:23
Aw, look at his sweet little face.
1:26
He seems a little worried, doesn't he?
1:28
Well, that's because he's in a great big store
1:29
and he's waiting all by himself
1:31
for someone special to take him home for Christmas.
1:35
So there he was in a really, really big store.
1:39
You know, we're lots and lots of people are walking
1:42
and talking and rushing all around.
1:44
It was so noisy and busy and our little tree.
1:47
Well, he felt very, very small.
1:50
Wow, just look at all the pretty things in this store.
1:55
There are shiny, colorful balls and beautiful long ribbons
1:59
and bright twinkly stars.
2:01
Everything was just so sparkly for Christmas.
2:05
You see, all the other Christmas trees in the store,
2:07
they were really big into all, but our little tree,
2:11
well, he was much shorter and smaller
2:13
and because he was so teeny tiny,
2:16
nobody really seemed to see him.
2:18
And that, well, that made him feel a little sad.
2:21
Yeah, he was all alone
2:22
while the big trees were getting picked.
2:25
He does look a little lonely, doesn't he?
2:27
Aw, he's just wishing so hard for a friend.
2:30
And you know what, more than anything else
2:32
in the whole wide world, our little tree
2:35
had a super big Christmas wish.
2:38
He was hoping and wishing and hoping that someone,
2:40
anyone, would choose him.
2:43
In his little tree heart, he was thinking,
2:45
oh, I wish someone would take me home.
2:49
They could put shiny balls on my branches
2:51
and a bright star on top.
2:53
And maybe, just maybe, I could even see Santa Claus.
2:57
Wow, can you imagine?
2:59
That would be so exciting.
3:01
And just then, a family walked by,
3:04
but oh no, they walked right past our little tree
3:07
and they picked a big tall one instead.
3:10
Oh, look at his face now.
3:13
The poor little tree was so, so sad
3:15
that a few sparkly little teardrops
3:18
rolled right down his branches.
3:20
But wait a minute, listen.
3:24
It sounds like jingle bells.
3:26
It's the door of the store opening again.
3:28
And guess what, another family just walked in.
3:31
And look, it is a family.
3:34
I see a mommy and a daddy and a very sweet little girl.
3:38
And they're walking right over to the trees.
3:41
And you wanna know her name?
3:45
And Rose was looking for the most perfect Christmas tree ever.
3:49
Now Rose didn't even look at the big tall trees.
3:53
Nope, she walked right past them.
3:56
And she came straight over to our little friend.
4:00
She looked at him so carefully.
4:02
From the tippy top of his head,
4:04
all the way down to his little pot.
4:07
The little tree stood still as he could.
4:10
What do you think she's gonna do?
4:12
Do you think she'll choose him?
4:14
And then Rose pointed right at him.
4:16
And with a big happy smile, she said,
4:20
I want the small one.
4:22
Oh my goodness, the little tree could not believe his ears.
4:27
Hooray, he cheered in his heart.
4:30
She really, really chose me.
4:33
He was so happy he felt like his little branches
4:36
were wiggling and dancing.
4:38
So Rose's daddy paid for the little tree
4:41
and the whole family took him home.
4:43
Yay, the little tree's biggest,
4:46
bestest wish was coming true.
4:48
When they got home, Rose so carefully decorated
4:52
She hung pretty colorful balls on his branches.
4:55
And then she put a big, shiny star
4:59
right on the very top.
5:01
Oh, the little tree felt so beautiful
5:03
and he felt so, so loved.
5:06
He wasn't in that big, noisy store anymore.
5:09
Nope, now he was in a warm, cozy home
5:13
with his new best friend, Rose.
5:16
the little tree had never, ever felt so happy
5:21
Later that night, when it was time for bed,
5:23
Rose put some very important things
5:26
under the tree's branches.
5:27
She put her letter for Santa Claus
5:29
and look, a big glass of milk
5:32
and a yummy, yummy cookie just for Santa.
5:35
Well, the little tree stood up nice and tall
5:38
all night long, watching over the treats for Santa.
5:41
And when Rose woke up the next morning,
5:43
what do you think happened?
5:45
Presents, look, so many presents.
5:48
Santa came, he left lots and lots
5:50
of wonderful presents for Rose.
5:52
And they were all sitting right there
5:54
under the branches of the happy little Christmas tree.
5:57
Rose loved all of her new toys,
6:00
but our little tree,
6:01
he knew he got the very best present of all,
6:05
a home and a family to love.
6:07
And that's our story of the little Christmas tree.
6:10
So I have a question for you.
6:12
What's your favorite part of Christmas?
