It's a very special Christmas story about a little friend we're going to meet. Okay, let's get started. Oh, look, here he is. This is our new friend, the little Christmas tree. Aw, look at his sweet little face. He seems a little worried, doesn't he? Well, that's because he's in a great big store and he's waiting all by himself for someone special to take him home for Christmas. So there he was in a really, really big store. You know, we're lots and lots of people are walking and talking and rushing all around. It was so noisy and busy and our little tree. Well, he felt very, very small. Wow, just look at all the pretty things in this store. Can you see them? There are shiny, colorful balls and beautiful long ribbons and bright twinkly stars.

2:01Everything was just so sparkly for Christmas. You see, all the other Christmas trees in the store, they were really big into all, but our little tree, well, he was much shorter and smaller and because he was so teeny tiny, nobody really seemed to see him. And that, well, that made him feel a little sad. Yeah, he was all alone while the big trees were getting picked. He does look a little lonely, doesn't he? Aw, he's just wishing so hard for a friend. And you know what, more than anything else in the whole wide world, our little tree had a super big Christmas wish. He was hoping and wishing and hoping that someone, anyone, would choose him. In his little tree heart, he was thinking, oh, I wish someone would take me home. They could put shiny balls on my branches and a bright star on top. And maybe, just maybe, I could even see Santa Claus. Wow, can you imagine? That would be so exciting. And just then, a family walked by,

3:04but oh no, they walked right past our little tree and they picked a big tall one instead. Oh, look at his face now. The poor little tree was so, so sad that a few sparkly little teardrops rolled right down his branches. But wait a minute, listen. What's that sound? It sounds like jingle bells. It's the door of the store opening again. And guess what, another family just walked in. And look, it is a family. I see a mommy and a daddy and a very sweet little girl. And they're walking right over to the trees. And you wanna know her name? Her name was Rose. And Rose was looking for the most perfect Christmas tree ever. Now Rose didn't even look at the big tall trees. Nope, she walked right past them. And she came straight over to our little friend. She looked at him so carefully. From the tippy top of his head,

4:04all the way down to his little pot. The little tree stood still as he could. What do you think she's gonna do? Do you think she'll choose him? And then Rose pointed right at him. And with a big happy smile, she said, I want this one. I want the small one. Oh my goodness, the little tree could not believe his ears. Hooray, he cheered in his heart. She chose me. She really, really chose me. He was so happy he felt like his little branches were wiggling and dancing. So Rose's daddy paid for the little tree and the whole family took him home. Yay, the little tree's biggest, bestest wish was coming true. When they got home, Rose so carefully decorated her new friend. She hung pretty colorful balls on his branches. And then she put a big, shiny star right on the very top. Oh, the little tree felt so beautiful and he felt so, so loved.

5:06He wasn't in that big, noisy store anymore. Nope, now he was in a warm, cozy home with his new best friend, Rose. And you know what, the little tree had never, ever felt so happy in his entire life. Later that night, when it was time for bed, Rose put some very important things under the tree's branches. She put her letter for Santa Claus and look, a big glass of milk and a yummy, yummy cookie just for Santa. Well, the little tree stood up nice and tall all night long, watching over the treats for Santa. And when Rose woke up the next morning, what do you think happened? Presents, look, so many presents. Santa came, he left lots and lots of wonderful presents for Rose. And they were all sitting right there under the branches of the happy little Christmas tree. Rose loved all of her new toys, but our little tree, he knew he got the very best present of all, a home and a family to love.
