Welcome to the hidden test. The show that gives you inside access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients fixing genuine issues. Brought to you by the hypnotherapist Amanda Bycellebrates CEO's and even royalty, Adam Cox. These recordings took place live from Evan Smith in London's world famous Harley Street. Sir, get yourself comfortable and enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotherapist. Hi, it's Adam here. Now this is a hypnosis session specifically to deal with a form of cocaine dependency that could be linked to self-destruction. And I was working with a client that generally was a very sociable person, very positive person, built good friendships, good relationships, but they lost someone important to them, a family member.

And after that point, they had increasingly been turning to cocaine. And what came up in the session is the possibility that either it was a form of escapism, numbing pain, or a form of self-destruction, based on the idea that if someone generally young and healthy dies, people can conflate love and a sense of injustice with a thought in a highly emotionally charged moment of, it should have been me. Why did it have to happen then? I should have, I should be the one having this kind of pain, I don't deserve to live, something like that. And that's essentially what this hypnosis session does. It looks at two key elements. One, the triggering, a lot of people with an addiction of any kind, disassociate from the consequences and associate into the pleasure, this inverses that. And also takes a different point of view from the perspective of their own past, that gauging what thought they may have put in their own head.

But also this person that isn't around anymore, what would they want for them, and would they really want a life that seems to be full of self-sabotage or self-destruction, or would they want something more positive? Now, this isn't for every cocaine user, it might be that you're just doing it recreationally. And there is no form of self-loathing or self-destruction in which case this isn't the episode for you. But if you can connect to those feelings, the feeling of looking yourself in the mirror and thinking that you're an unworthy person, and that's perhaps in the aftermath of going on a coke binge, for example, then this may be right for you. As with all my sessions, treat it like panning for gold, disregard anything that is not useful, and find the nuggets, maybe just one or two suggestions within this that are highly relevant for you, and then it will be worthwhile. While also bearing in mind, it was created for an individual, and while it was calibrated for them, it may not be fully relevant for you.

So if you do like the idea of working with me directly, rather than just listening to a recording that I did for other people, there will be a link in the show notes where you can either get a discounted consultation call with me or find relevant downloads that I've put together on my store or my site that you can actually find that are relevant for you, so check that out in the show notes as well. For now, I would encourage you to find a quiet, comfortable place that you won't be distracted or disturbed, relax, and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that long, slow, relaxing breath, and as you exhale,

give permission to release any tension in your eyelids, your jaw, your neck or your shoulders, just allow it to leave your body, in your outward breath, that's it. Breathing in, relaxation, and releasing, not just tension, but any shame, any guilt, any self-loathing, any frustrations, and not all at once, but just imagine the outward breath is the release valve, to let go of things you've been holding onto, some of which may be for years.

When you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of pure resourcefulness, and that simply means you have what you need to do, what needs to be done, and anything unresourced for, and that may be shame or blame, that may be tiredness or regret, all of that starts to slowly, incrementally, leave your body, every outward breath, and maybe you notice that the deeper you breathe, the more resourceful you feel, and the longer you exhale, the more you let go of all those things that aren't serving you right now.

That's it. Deep arm and slower breath in, and as you exhale, allow it to be automatic. That's it. Your body becomes still enough, that you don't have to chase any particular feeling, and I want you to think back to a particular morning when you woke up, and you were searching for a feeling, a familiar feeling, and it just wasn't there, nothing missing because nothing needed, and just connect with that strange, wonderful absence, and maybe rather calling it nothingness, we can call it freedom, liberation, empowerment.

Remember that, that wasn't emptiness, the absence of it didn't feel empty, it felt powerful, what if that was the very freedom you were looking for, and now you have irrefutable evidence that it is accessible to you, and maybe your mind can begin learning about that kind of freedom, more deeply now. For a long time, cocaine has relied on a trick, and marketing they call it bait and switch. It shows you the beginning, and hides the ending, like a con man that makes something irresistible, and then you're left with the consequences.

But let's think about that beginning, a thought arrives, a message or call, maybe anticipation, or just the idea of feeling a few empty hours, and the mind presents, that initial feeling, the gratification, the escapism, even moments of euphoria, as if they exist on their own, but they never do. And what if from now on, your mind can become more honest, and perhaps inverse the order, either when the thought appears, automatically your mind can play the whole film, not just the trailer.

Maybe a thought is, I've got all this time, but you deal with the aftermath, the fallout, the resources that were deployed in one area, and they could have gone somewhere else. But if it just avoids the imagined gratification, and jumps straight to the reality, hours disappearing, money becoming nothing, plans abandoned, energy training away, and the world getting smaller. But more than any of those, I want you to teleport into the self-loathing, the shame, the inner criticism, the disappointment, and I want you to amplify that feeling, and then make it worse.

Because each time you habituate, each time confidence and self-esteem erodes, doesn't it give you more permission to make worse decisions? I want you to connect without feeling, the feeling of being on the train, and the wheels are falling off, and you've lost all control. It's exciting, but you know the train will crash, so hone in to the crash. You can create a bit of a groundhog day, your mind can do that. Tell a port into the disappointment, the frustration, the shame, the blame.

Jump into a moment where you look at yourself in the mirror, and have no idea who's looking back at you. In fact, imagine looking into the mirror, and actually see a reflection of that Lord of the Rings character, not smegel but golem. Obsessed with pursuing something, even if they lose everything in the pursuit. That's it. Imagine lying there looking at the ceiling, feeling that groundhog day sensation. Here we go again, and maybe there's a tiny feeling that this is justice, that somehow this feeling is deserved.

You may even have an idea that it comes from somewhere, but what if the after-feeling becomes the before-feeling? Not as punishment, but as information. Someone that has never smoked, has linked the idea of a single cigarette, the cancer. Logically they know it would take decades for that to happen, but by linking the two together, they simply don't want it. And that's all you're doing, thinking that thought with an undesirable consequence. You're unconscious deserves to see the whole decision, before you make it. A thought of cocaine, instantly.

Imagine money, not being spent but burned. See them turning to ashes. Instead of the wasted day, just being lost time, imagine being locked up in a jail cell for that same period of time, where you can't do anything else. Like your world's getting smaller, isolated, tired, predictable, the recovery days, and the delays. And all those missed opportunities. Nobody in that aftermath of a high is going for a jog or a workout in the gym or working on something constructive and valuable in their life. That's the real cost, missed opportunities.

It's a collide all of them together, the mirror, the feeling, the waste, the isolation, the sense of, how would you feel if someone you loved was doing this with their life, connect with it? And what if the real cost isn't money, but life force? Time is life, energy is life, choices are life. And what if at some level you were choosing not to live because someone else didn't get to? Allow your mind to make a connection. Maybe a certain number of years ago there was real pain, real anger, something happened that shouldn't have happened.

Someone you loved deeply, someone healthy, and loving, with a life taken far too early. And sometimes rage comes when there's nothing you can do about something. The helplessness amplifies anger and creates rage, at the unfairness at life, at the idea of a God, at the universe, even perhaps at yourself. Maybe, just maybe, at a single moment inside all that pain, they could have been a thought such as, why them? It should have been me, I should have done more.

Why didn't it happen to me? And what if all the way back then you planted a seed of an idea, and that seed grew and grew, and you're living with what was planted all the way back then? You don't need a perfect explanation, but I know that you can recognize that a single idea connected to a powerful emotion, can create a point of inception that ripples from then all the way into the future. And maybe, just maybe, you may have made a statement that your unconscious treated like a promise, a Trojan horse hidden inside the pain.

Maybe it was a promise that was something like, if life was unfair to her, maybe I don't deserve to fully live mine. Or if your brain thought, it should have happened to you, that if she didn't get to live and it should have happened to you, what if your unconscious is honoring a promise, and everything you're doing is making it more difficult to live a life well lived? Or maybe, some thought that if you mess up your life, it somehow balances the scales. And here's the thing we don't have to know what it is, just that it's a possibility.

But what if now is the time to recognize? Flute back in time to that moment, where you had the anger, you had the grief, that if moments were being turned into seeds that were planted, observe those moments. And you can tell now, just by observing your life, you honoring a promise like that never balanced anything. In fact, it tipped the scales the wrong way. She didn't get to live her life, and now you're not getting to live yours. That doesn't rebalance the scales, that keeps them distorted. It creates two tragedies, rather than one.

Pain plus more pain, doesn't create pleasure or fairness or equity. In the same way that minus one plus minus one does not become two or three, it becomes minus two. You don't have to keep paying a debt, there was never your debt, and therefore you never owed. And now, without needing to believe anything supernatural, I want you to imagine seeing your life, but from her perspective, not through your guilt, but through her love for you. I want you to imagine, what if she could see the last ten years?

Condensing time, you can see patterns that aren't visible, but maybe there were choices you made with good intentions to numb pain. You feel sad, but you feel better, but it created a chain reaction where life got smaller. Observe your life as if she were a spirit, watching you, the good days, the difficult ones. Moments of laughter, friendship, a relationship, the end of a relationship, but also how much time, energy, emotion and money went into a black hole, and let's call it the Abyss. By now you know, nothing has filled or could feel that Abyss.

But what if that's the unconscious attempt? She's observing the self-loathing, the criticism, the de-realization. Imagine she sees all of that, which she say, good. I didn't get to live my life, you don't get to live yours, punish yourself for me. Or would she say, I didn't get to live my life, live a great life for me. You know the thought, is it more likely that she would say, make your life smaller because mine was shortened? What would she say, what are you doing? You still have time, use it.

She knew more than most, in that period of two months, what it was like to have a world become smaller. And maybe precisely because of that, she would have wanted yours to become bigger, adventurous for the friendships, passion and curiosity, love and travel. Work that matters, days of accomplishment, people you care about and people you care about you. Which you want you with less options or more. With more freedom or less, with life or loathing.

And when you take that perspective, imagine going all the way back to those moments, the moments of pain, the moments of anger, of rage. And knowing what you now know, what if you made a new promise, a better seed to have planted in that moment? Maybe it's something like, this wasn't fair, it shouldn't have happened. I'm going to live a life, rich enough for both of us. Honoring that promise might lead to different decisions, unconscious choices.

Imagine that promise in that moment. Maybe it was a funeral or a conversation with a brother. Maybe you set it out loud, maybe you set it to yourself in a quiet moment. Imagine making that promise. And imagine if that promise was made, would life have taken a different trajectory. Just imagine it, rippling through space and time all the way up to the present. And there's a Chinese proverb, the best time to plant a tree is ten years ago. The second best time is right now. You can't change the last ten years. You can change right now.

And that doesn't mean it's easy. But sometimes, the most wonderful things are difficult, challenging, and yet incredibly worthwhile. And I want you to imagine what the next few days and weeks would look like. Not all at once and not straight away. But choice by put choice, decision by decision, moment by moment, or and more. You honor the new promise. And if your unconscious can connect with that idea, let me know by nodding your head. That's it. And imagine where it goes a year from now. Not perfect, but honoring that new promise.

What if there's less loathing and more life, more living? What if there's less time to waste and more to use? What if a chance encounter becomes something wonderful? All of the options and none of the obligations. And if that part that's been trying to protect you, or honor or suppress, allow that part to have a more influential role to play, to help you, live the life you were meant to live, and to make someone special, proud. And as you hold that thought, it's time to return.

But with a feeling that an old seed of an idea that was planted, that's now been replaced with a better one, a more useful one. Something good for you, good for the world, and actually to give more peace and reassurance to the people that love you the most, that you've had enough pain. What if you become the source of all the things you felt for those people you loved the most? And as you float back to the present, take a deep breath in three onos, and out three onos. Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now,

as I now count from one to ten to awaken you. Starting to count, one, two, three waking up, four, five, six, more alert, seven, eight, open your eyes, open your eyes, nine, ten, wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
