About this episode
Sports Gambling Podcast Network is made possible by:
The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 2026 season coverage with FCS week 2 picks, a full FCS board rundown and Thursday night reactions. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) and Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) take a victory lap on their UMass money line call after Pop Watson and the Minutemen stunned Rutgers, salute Akron's backdoor cover after the Reese Poffenbarger eligibility bombshell, and break down Colorado's blocked-kick escape of Georgia Tech. Can Illinois State bury Western Illinois on the road? Does the Montana two-step of the Griz and Bobcats cash again? Is Chattanooga plus 12.5 the play against Tennessee Tech? Can Delaware State pull the money line upset at William & Mary? Does Weber State hang around at Southern Utah?
The guys then welcome Chris Van Dine (@chrisv160) of the Phil Steele FCS Preview Magazine, who hands out his own week 2 card: Austin Peay to cover at Vanderbilt, Alcorn State plus the points at Southern Miss, Wofford over Gardner-Webb, the over in Western Carolina vs Campbell and a fade of Tennessee Tech. The guys also hammer Central Arkansas over West Florida and Utah State over Idaho State. We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.

Burt B with the SGP and app just type in SGP and wherever get apps, click download and let it ride. This is Gary Glamville and you're listening to SGP and let it ride, brother. Yes, yes, yes, yes, wow, go welcome to that college football experience. Oh boy, we done
did it. I want to start the season YouTube.com slash the college experience. Jump on over there, hit that like and subscribe button. This is our FCS show, but we will start by reacting to really a little bit of everything. FCS and FBS and we also have a guest that will be on the show later on that we might be able to work out something where he's on every episode of this specific episode. If you're wondering who the hell you're listening to, that's fair. My name is Kobe Swiggy, database, Dan A.K.A. Pick Done D. That's not a pick, this is a pick.
Triple option threat we work because we did what first half money line, game money line and the points. Huh. I mean, I guess you could throw a fourth in there with wind to it, but we haven't cashed it yet. I am joined by my co-host who is also the host of the college basketball experience. It's baseball does a couple episodes here. There. Yes. Shout out to Albany. Give it up for former, former staffer at all to be with the governor South Carolina with the game cocks and West by God, Virginia with the Mountaineers, right? Macintyre A.K.A. Money line Mac, what's up, bro? Oh, what is up? A great opening night to week one. I hope all you jackfuck's got your jabs at me last year. Oh, my minute man, because we back up. Let's go. Oh, boy. I mean, wait a second. Hmm. Let's see. UMass first half money line.
UMass full game money line. UMass plus what number did you get? I got what was it? 29 and a half. Yeah. I thought we were going to reverse cover for a minute there. Oh, get that. And what was that wind total lock? I mean, I mean, we're not there yet. Don't want to jinx it. Don't want to jinx it. But I have to do Albany just got a strip sack right now. I have UMass on the money line, parlayed with Albany, me and me and real money Kramer. If that thing cashes, I mean, I think I've just shot at nine geez, $50 bet. So you are looking laugh. All right. Albany just with a strip sack. We got the ball at the Buffalo 27. Let's do this. Come on. We are on the back of quarterback. So I don't know how I don't know how good that is. But how are you, buddy? How was your experience of cashing UMass? And we took a lot
of flack. And also not only did we take a lot of flack for locking up, you know, UMass, but also we got ball state wasn't public. I mean, number one this year on our team previews. It was Rutgers. I think I made fun of them for getting Dylan Longerman. And I was just like, why would they go see him? And I was talking about this on the SGPN chat with the Sean Ryan. I was saying like, how do you go get him? It's like when UMass saying to pop Watson, my first thought was they got the best quarterback in the Mac. Go listen to our preview. I say that. They're going to have the best quarterback in the Mac. He's fucking really good. He's really good. And God, he looked apart right away. I mean, it was like evident like, whoa, he's by far the best player on the field. Definitely the best quarterback. Why did Rutgers not go get pop Watson? Yeah, that's exactly our text chain. I was saying like the people that review the talent. And this is why you should not. And I, oh, big 10 is so much better than the ACC in big 12. But UMass who was 0 and 12 last year power ranked
dead last by many 136 out of 136 just went in and shit. I mean, they went the distance. I mean, absolutely shit on Gracie Auto. And he might have fired tonight. If I'm real talk, he might have got fired tonight because. Yeah, especially against your former assistant, her is Mac was 0 and 12 in his career. He gets his first win by, I mean, they were they were forced. Were they a four scores at one point? There are, I know there are three. But I mean, this was honestly Rutgers dressed it up. Rutgers dressed it up. They got an asshole. Yeah, this was a true asshole. But in this sets up Macintosh for dude, I have Rutgers to win the Mac. I forget what odds I got it. I got to check that. But you mean UMass. I don't know. Rutgers. I'm saying UMass UMass, UMass to win the Mac. But their next three games are sacred hot Stonehill and sex state. Now, I know none of those are
Mac or I guess sex states Mac game. But they're going to be 4 and 0. We're getting out of this. We're cash in this thing in September. We are cash in this in September. Um, I mean, he got fired probably tonight because I don't see a path really for a bowl game. Brian Kelly might have just got the Rutgers job. Um, yeah, any other thoughts besides us down. Shout out to the chat. I hope you guys followed us on this. I know our Twitter were blowing up. I had people tagging me, tagging me, left and right on this. And look, you had a great night overall too. I mean, but I just think that one was the classic. And I just, you know, listen, like I said, I'm flying back from Vegas the other day. I was at a layover. My flight out the later listening to like 20 hours of. Well, shitty, shitty shitty podcast. You know what I mean? Some shitty, some decent. But most of them like, you know, all the big 10 and big 10 and, you know, SEC, they're just so much better in the rest. You're right. And you saw it with the, the proposal for this playoff shit today.
Right. You can't have, you can't have the little guys and little guy, the worst little guy just went into your mighty big 10 and dominated them at their house. Stop at, it's still 11 on 11. I refused to believe that there's a gigantic gap in all this shit. All right. Uh, thoughts on the game and everything else. Yeah. I mean, so I think you hit the nail in the head. I know we got to kind of wrap it fire here because you got bison. But, um, I, I just think you mass finally catches a break and they find a quarterback. They looked apart. Um, and yeah, like you said, we caught a lot of fucking flat. I hope everybody, uh, the, the bet police, uh, or the bet slip police was out. They said, show me your slip. I provided my slip. I said, you want me to show, do you want me to show you my Diaz with your fucking girl next motherfucker? Kiss my ass. I mean, acting like I wasn't just at posting slips in Vegas like five days ago. I'm so sick of these fucking nerds. Um,
and by the way, you just took the lead. Oh, you're, yeah, post that slip. If that fucking hits, hey, I'll think what I may or may not have you mess first half money line parlane with Fresno first half my line. You better hope those bulldogs don't go into the call scene when first half money line or you're going to get some debauchery in Morgantown tomorrow at midnight with you little bet bet, but I came and say bet police slip whatever the fuck they are. You fucking nerds, fucking losers. Oh boy. Uh, yeah, man. I mean, that's all I got. That's my, my riff and get it off my chest. Get it off that chest. Shout out to Gary, by the way, uh, I will not be in Vegas, but my pals, Sean Ryan and CJ, the rest of SGP, uh, will not be. But Mac, actually, if we, if we hit these bets, we might be, uh, just go right back. We're going to Nashville. Shout out to the chat. I'm having a hard time keeping up with all this great stuff. I mean,
the pop lots of us quarterback in the Mac. Uh, yeah, I mean, how can you say he's not? I mean, he's at least right there. This is why I like, I know it's just one game. So I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but I, I like to think I was pretty cut ahead of the curve with Diego Pavia, right? Uh, at New Mexico state, I thought he was a gamer. Pop lots and I knew was a, like a big time fucking get. Like I just knew I was like, whoa. Like I thought he could have started at a, uh, I could have started for chapel bill. I thought, I mean, you could have started for a bunch of teams. I was just like, wait. Damn, he's going to UMass. It's like, that's a major get. And boy, did he show, what was the stat line? You have that in front of you? Pull that shit out. I was trying to pull that out. My fucking computer keeps crashing too many winners. Rutgers UMass box score. Give me something. Come on. I'll tell you what this ESPN app is terrible. Yeah, I don't, I don't use that app. Um, uh, pop, pop watch and finishes
the night 19 to 22 three touchdowns. He had as many touchdowns as it completes his 40 yards rush it on the ground. The only thing is he missed the deep guy once. So like one of his three incompletions was it was going to be like a 70 yard touchdown. But man, I mean, the guy can play and we're, we're going to shout out the Tommy buckets gave us $20 Mac, hope Mac, the Twitter nerds girl. Huge day fills. Yeah. I mean, these, these, these, these, are better slip shit is hilarious to me just because like we, host a show you fucking, we bet on everything like by this point, I remember when we first started SGP and, you know, I felt like everything we had to do, we post by this point, I feel like you just know. Yeah. If you've hung out with us in Vegas, you know, all right. You know, we're, we're playing crap. So we know we're, Deito going in on a bunch of different shit. So I mean, anyway, uh, let's, we got to quickly go through some of these other ones, man, because we, we, we're going to be a overlap and shit, but, um,
yep. Uh, so UMass Rutgers, we hit on that. I must apologize for the West Georgia play. But Jerry Mack has been making me look like a fool for, for a year in one game now because, woo, 47, nothing. Where's cannabis, Kapper? He cashes in a battle against us. Um, he was talking shit to me. He's like, oh, faith in canisog and I see how you motherfuckers are good again. God, he's got a good program. Well, they score the opening like drive or whatever because these fake lightning delays. And then they kicked the ball off. And on like a first kick return for West Georgia, maybe it was a second. I think it was the first that they fumble like that they dropped the ball. And kind of, I'm like, it's going to be a long night. It's going to be a long night. Uh, but shout out to Kennis. Uh, for sticking to me, I did bet on that and I lost. I also bet on Mary Mack plus 30 and a half or 30. I think I got 31 and a half. It did not hit man. This ran this up, man. This shit was like a seven to nothing game with like five minutes left in
the second quarter. Um, they did score two touchdowns right before the half. That was pretty, pretty back breaking. But, uh, yeah, bad play, bad play shout out to Delaware. Their fans were happy, uh, scored a bunch of points in the second half. Did you touch any of those? Yeah, it was on Mara Mac. They, they, they, I thought that they could keep this within the number. But in, I thought Manuchu was getting a little bit of hype. I mean, they pulled them out even at the end and they still couldn't cover. But yeah, Mara Mac is, Mara Mac has screwed me the last couple of weeks. They should have at least covered one of these. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. And, uh, shout out to Gary, donated $100 to Columbia. Yes. Uh, shout out to you, brother. And I'll just go right in with that. Um, want to let the good folks know that the FCS college football experience is part of the sports gambling podcast network and the free roll football contest is back pick every game against the spread for a chance to win up to $4,000 enter today at sportsgalleypodcast.com. slash free roll. Uh, also SGPN gives back people. We, we're continuing to help the ongoing
effort to rebuild parade at Columbia. Uh, my mother-in-law, uh, yeah, she's a teacher and obviously they had a 7.4 earthquake, which was the biggest since the early 1970s. That's the school she teaches at or taught at, I guess I should say, we are trying to build that thing back up. And then anything we have extra, we're just going to help, uh, you know, that, that city. Um, but we have directly been in contact with that. We will, we will be responsible if we can do this or at least have a big influence on helping, uh, build this thing back up, man, I've, I've had the opportunity to be there. Uh, you know, uh, taught English there, taught triple option football with, with some, with some kids, man, it was, it was an awesome experience, but it's also terrible breaks my heart because these kids were great kids and it's ashamed. They're not even in school right now. They don't think they really have the options that we, we have essentially like with online stuff during COVID and stuff. So we're trying our best to do this. Anything you can do to help, even if it's just a dollar, I'd be forever grateful. SportsGellingPodcast.com slash relief. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Um, back to recapping, man, because, uh, I don't know how the hell we hit on Akron, but man, Akron never doubt, never doubt, maybe Akron loses to wait for us 38 to 16. Now, uh, Poffenberger's ruled in eligible. We're getting the worst of the number. I don't know how we still cash, but that, the Poffenberger news is gigantic for like, we thought I, I thought Akron could have been a player to win the Mac potentially or like get to the Mac championship. I don't think they're going to be able to do that, uh, with the freshmen because they're going from a seven-year starters and do it. How the hell is Poffenberger not to get the okay, but you got, you got LSU with the NFL guys coming back. What are we talking about here? Why won't they just play him? I said, this is, I said, just play him. Wait, wait, what is only played like two years of football too? Like, just because he was on rasters, like, he has a better argument than me, like, have to fucking press the college football. Okay. So they're roll them in eligible at the end of the year. What are
they going to do? Vacate your six and six season? At least you can get to a ball like, yeah, I know. I lawyer up. Just lawyer up. What the fuck's the anti-agent to do? Just fucking stick it to him. I don't get it. It doing else you's doing. Just play the guys. Now we got lucky as hell because uh, Gio Lopez looked kind of smooth. I thought in the wake offense, I actually played him in DFS. So hit a little hit for a little cash in DFS. I had him in Carlos Hernandez. Uh, we back door this. I did see, you know, Akron's freshman quarterback did the abrupt slide and of course, we penalized the defense. Um, most dangerous playing football should not does not belong in football. But the zips, uh, somehow covered first. I missed it. Like I said, I had the nine TV setup, but I was just kind of like, uh, I had it on. I just wasn't big a taz. Like, I lost on this one. Um, how do we score? What happened? What happened? Like they had to back, back door drives here. Um, the, the kid that came in, um, just fucking name. He looked good. I think he fit a seven to seven.
Yeah, I think he could be all right in the Mac. It's uh, oh, yeah, okay. You say, yeah, yeah, I got you. I got you. Uh, third, team in the fourth. Yeah. Lopez is going to be good in that system, dude. Lopez 21 of 32, 353 touchdowns in the air. Uh, also, uh, 40 yards on the ground. So shout out to Gio, have you driven a Gio Lopez lately? We cashed there. Also, I did go in on Bethune Cookman. I'm sorry. I went in on UCF, but through the Cookman, uh, I went in on the laying the number, and I also took the over. I just didn't go in pretty heavy, but if you caught me on Scotch show today, Scott Wetzel, shout out to him. I'm on his show every Thursday. He talked me into this play. I got to give him credit. He was like, you know what? We should take this. I was like, I, you know what? I think you, I think he pulled up some, some stat over the past five years or something of these week one games are the teams are favored against an FCS by this many points.
And I was like, I make some sense. You make 73 to six Scott Frost, often running. So, uh, yeah, that was a hard watch. That was an absolute beat down. It was a hard watch. Also, uh, you know, uh, shout out to Minnesota for covering the 42 and a half for me against Eastern Illinois. We're good there. Uh, East Minnesota is going to be really good I think this year. They have potential to be really good. The schedule's tough, but they have potential to do that. Uh, started slow, but finished fast. Yeah. Uh, thoughts on the SEC Clown Show lawsuit ruling. I mean, I don't even want to talk about it. Yeah. It's, I mean, I enjoyed watching football tonight, not all this other shit that everybody wants to talk about. Those are what does other TMZ channels. And that's why they don't really prepare you for the season. They just want to talk about hypothetical bullshit. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so, uh, I like games. I like games. I know you like games. I like watching football. Yeah. I really don't care. Like just let's play football.
I love football college football. All right. Now, obviously like, okay, you know, it doesn't surprise me. I mean, that's crazy. Yeah. I wish I would have bet this, but I did pick it correctly. Arkansas Pine Bluff covered the 55 and a half or whatever the hell the number was. It's the only lost by 40. Uh, Missouri, uh, I don't know what to deduce from that. Arkansas Pine Bluff is a terrible FC. So, but I did cash on Utah as they won 66 to 14. I felt very strongly about that. Went pretty heavy on the youths. I think Idaho is terrible. Uh, so we cash there. I did get burnt by Stony Brook. This Stony Brook team is driving me crazy. I know some people might have had three and a half. I had four and a half. And they were asleep the whole first half again. Second half, they turned it on. It bothers me. But, uh, what didn't bother me last week because of, uh, Deliver State, but, uh, shout out to the Seawolves for battling all the way back against Linda Winn getting that win. Uh,
we also had the, uh, we did cash on Sanford getting 27 and a half ridiculous number. Absolutely. Ridiculous number. Uh, this was never even in doubt. It was one of the game out of right. As they lost by four to the Saluki's of Southern Illinois. Uh, there was also a more head state got even with Kentucky Christian, although they had an awesome kick return for touch on that game. Uh, more head state 75 Kentucky Christian 24. I don't need to ask you about that one, but I mean, uh, the, uh, yeah, I mean, the Saluki's got that win. That one, I guess might have been, you know, down the road, they could be a playoff team. You can split on the road. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. And then, uh, let's talk about you, uh, uh, you were ahead of me on this. Uh, if it wasn't for Brennan, Mary, and talking about his offensive line, which by the way, they, like, I understand they got kind of, like,
they should have won the game by more, but Colorado. Yeah, Colorado 14 Georgia Tech 13, uh, the buffs block a fuel goal to win the game, which a game that included two block fuel goals and a kick return for touchdown by Georgia Tech. Um, and if you look at the statute, it's quite, I mean, I guess the, the art difference was only like 20 yards in Colorado's favor, but Colorado had like 200 yards on the ground almost. It was like 190, I think, or something like that. And then, uh, Georgia Tech could only run for 51 yards. We might have a major problem. If, if the jackets only run in for 51 yards, yeah. I, I'm not saying Colorado is a big 12 contender, but I, I think they can push a little bit in that leg with that offensive line and that D line in the trenches. I mean, Georgia Tech is a physical team. I don't care who's been the running back or quarterback, as long as Keyes been
there, that's been their identity in Colorado, beat him at their own game. And, and last, honestly, the roles were reversed last year. Georgia Tech came back in Boulder, uh, Haynes King, Woldembroke victory. And then Dion talked about that this year. They found a way to world themselves for victory. Shout it to, uh, to Lewis, man, making, making the big throats on the stretch. He had a tough night, but he's young. Um, but he made it. Yeah, it's always like second or third road starts. So it's like, yeah, yeah. I thought it was gutty. All things considering he's kind of working a little bit of awareness. Yeah. Yeah. A little bit on the awareness, but Brennan Marion is a difference maker, man. Even though I thought it was foolish as shit to go for that fourth and goal from your four. Oh, that was doing. It's like eight to three. We've lost our mind on the analytics side. Well, we've lost our mind. So the only reason it was a game is because Georgia Tech ran back a kick. And the special shout out to the real kick return and not that NFL bullshit. Yeah. I mean, that's something Dion's always, that's kind of a redemption moment for Dion tonight with the block kick. But I will say like through his
tenure as head coach of Colorado, the special teams have been fucking trash. Yeah. And it's a really trash. Yeah. So, but having I guess special teams today won the day, even though it was definitely responsible for, you know, 10 points today. So, uh, we both called for the buffs. You were calling it all summer. It took me to mid July, but, um, hey, that's a big win for the big 12 too. I mean, 12 ACC kind of neck and neck or I guess, the Carolina takes down TCU and then Colorado gets to get Georgia Tech at their place. Nice win. That was a great watch. Uh-huh. I enjoyed that watch. That's me like, I've always thought the perfect score was like 17 13 in a football game. You rather watch that than playing at Mercedes Benz? Yeah. Uh, crowd was great. I mean, that was just a fun environment. That was a fun, called football game. Yeah. It's everything that the sport is. It should be. Um, and, uh, yeah, just like, it was just a
fun game to watch. Fun game to watch. Did not care for, uh, what's my guy's name? Chase Daniel on the call. Always defending. Always defending the quarterback. Um, but yeah, you know our stance on Mercedes Benz. And, uh, I did lose on the Aliann. I was given away 27 and a half. Uh, you maybe looked alright, man. Another G five bottom feeder that went into a big tent team and honestly looked apart. That score is not a fucking Hail Mary at halftime. Yeah. That score is a lot closer. And this quarter defensive touchdown like the Aliann, I did not dominate that game. That score is misleading. I, I thought you A B looked, looked pretty good under Mortensen. I thought that quarterback and, and they, they were able to move the ball. Yeah. Put your fours up, man.
Over 13 minutes. Uh, shout out to the chat. Yeah, we hit on, we hit on the color, uh, the Colorado game right now. I'm sweating out Albany. Who is, uh, up three Buffalo's got the ball midfield, 13 minutes left in the ball game. Uh, I think that's everything, right? We hit on, we hit on everything. Uh, now we can jump into the slate for the FCS, but make sure you check out our FBS pod every week, every Wednesday, every Tuesday and Wednesday, really. So, uh, let's go. Uh, trying to remember what slide we got here. Let's go here and, uh, wait, let's not go here. Let's go to this right here. Uh, there we go with those Houston, Christian Huskies with the gigantic win last week as well as William and Mary with my money line play. I mean, dude, so far this season, how great has this been? I mean, my money lines are, I mean, I guess I
didn't get the West Florida money line in, but I called for it. Um, but I got, I just calling for it. And then I did have William and Mary on the money line. I know you, you, you were with me on West Florida. Yeah. We loaded up on the points. We hit on Memphis. I mean, this has been a magical start to the season right now. Carolina. Yeah. You had C money line. Uh, I mean, it's a thing it's a, it's a preview of things to come. The narrative is there's such a big gap and all the favorites are going to roll in these lines are ridiculous. So I'm going to keep dogging it up. Take the points, baby. Too many points. Let's go. Let's go. Hunter Barket. Let's go. And tomorrow we do get Franklin Pearson, Maris. There's no line, but if for the FCS junkies out there, go red foxes. Uh, then, uh, we get, we talked to these last night on the FBS show. We're just going to quickly give our picks. So if you, if you're jumping in, um, uh, we were both on A and T and I, this line jumped a little bit. I got like, I want to say I got like 30.
Yeah. Um, I think it, I think it might be at like 30 right now because I made my bed tonight. Um, A and T. George, do you want with me on this, right? Yeah. I locked it up with you. Uh, so a couple of comments were laughing on us for taking this one. So we'll see who laughs laughs. Yeah. That's what they said about UMass and West Florida and carrot. I mean, the amount of hate we had for chapel bill. You know, just for picking that one. Yeah. They shut the fuck up real quick when bill bell check went to Ireland got a dub. Yeah. And look, if his sons, given drugs to the players, well, dammit, give me some. I'm only an hour away. Right? What a wild story. Steve, I'll come by. I'll come by, man. Hook me up. Um, uh, next up, we have, uh, India at a state in Purdue. This is another one I locked up. I laid the big number here at 36 and a half. Might have been able to get 35 and a half. I can't remember. I'm all over this one though. Uh, did you go with me on this? Uh, yeah. And it's one of my top three plays. I don't know if it's one of your top three
tomorrow. Go check out the end of that episode the other night. But to recap tonight, top three, I was on the bus plus the points, UMass plus the points and Acre plus points, clean sweep, Colby as well, Colorado plus the points, uh, UMass plus the points and he laid it with you, Tos. That's six and a half. You jack fuck shop to you. So sick of this shit. You are looking live, uh, late with Purdue. Lay the look out of this. Yeah. Then, uh, we have the long Island Shacks tomorrow. I did lay it with Kansas here as much as I love my Shacks. Uh, I think it's a bad match. But they're the over actually, and I think that number went up, but I still think the over is a play that might be kind to you, depending on what that number is currently. But we went and you went with me on the Kansas J Hawks, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, then Saturday morning. Don't forget we have an 11 a.m. tip. So if you're looking for Weber International and Stetson,
we get FCS football an hour before the other games kick, then, uh, we get Southern Connecticut state, the real blue birds against Wagner in Staten Island. Uh, you know, Wagner does play at Cal Berkeley and James Madison in the coming weeks. And we faded Wagner last week. Bobby Moe and Bernard Clark sticking a tool, Mackintosh. Uh, I actually think Southern Connecticut could be live here. Yeah. Yeah. Why not? I mean, Wagner's look like shit. I wouldn't have a line. But it wouldn't shock me. Hey, it could be live. You're like a live. Oh, man. Uh, next up, we have Lafayette UConn. This is what I did go in on battle. We battle here. Yeah. That's right. I, uh, I laid it with UConn. Max taking these leopards. We have a battle going on here. Uh, so smooth for thought. Also, uh, we put all three of us took Syracuse minus 33 and a half against New Hampshire. Uh, we did.
I don't think we had, we did, we didn't do a battle. But we did disagree. Mac and the bet detective are both on Tarleton. I took bowling green. Uh, interesting game, fun game. I can't read to watch that. Then, uh, this is what we haven't talked about. Stonehill, New Haven, New Haven, Lane seven and a half. Uh, regionality. Yeah. I'm trying to think right here with the touchdown and a half what I should do. I think I'm going to be. I don't have a, I don't have a, too big of a number, I think, too big of a number. But are they bait me with this hook? Uh, be, I, I'll tell you what, they bait you a lot in the FCS, I think. There's a lot of bait. Like, there's a lot of seven and a half or six and a half. And it's always take the six and a half late. The seven and a half. Stonehill got drilled by Brian, but Brian's like a pretty decent program,
man. Yeah. You know what I mean? They lost 24 to six. Meanwhile, New Haven beats Maris 22, 21 last week. I'm on the points. I'm not betting it though. Yeah, no bet for me. Yeah. Uh, next up, we go to these Brian Bulldogs. This is a lock of mine. I feel pretty good. Did you didn't go with me? Did you? No, I took my army black nights, but I didn't bet it. I didn't want to lay 36 to half with a lock. Yeah. This is dropped down to point to 36 and a half, but I'm all over Brian here. Um, then uh, this game right here, I drove a lock. So Georgetown, although they played well before that fake lightning delay hit DC and canceled that left yet game. Uh, the game that never happened. They are at home Cooperfield, take it on Lehigh. Lehigh laying 18 and a half, the over under at 15 and a half Macintosh. I'm locking up Lehigh. Georgetown's got to prove it to me one more time. I think Lehigh's run game is dominant. I don't think the Hoy is got anything.
Lay the 18 and a half with the engineers. Was was really impressed with Lehigh gets fucking holy cross. Uh, yeah. I don't know if you're interested. I don't think I'm gonna lock it just because I thought the Hoyers looked chippy for that fucking fake lightning delay. They should have won. They did. They would have won probably. Um, so I'm on, I think Lehigh is just a different, different animal. Um, next up we have Seymour Iowa State. I think we all went in on this, right? Yeah. So she didn't, uh, at least me and you went in on that. I can't remember everyone else's picks. But Seymour, we're all over that in the points with Iowa State bringing in a brand new roster, brand new staff. Um, youngstown is another one that I went in on and I have a tip for you at the end of the show with our guests that comes on the show about this game. So you locked us up too, right? Yeah. I was, I think I was the one that led the charge. Yeah. Yeah. I love this
play. Youngstowns, Youngstowns, proud program. It's a very proud program and, uh, holy cross cogate, cogate laying five and a half over reaction. Crusaders plus the five and a half. I'll take my chances. No bet. What are you doing here? Um, I'll take the points. Regenality, Patriot League, give me the points, no bet. Yes. Then we have, uh, bettexas, dukes, we locked up Air Force link 29 and a half. This was a triple lock, according to bettexas, we had to go in on that. So we stand by this one. Um, how about this one? This is one. Gardner Web just fired their coach who was a new hire. He coached one game at Gardner Web lost. The story is quite hilarious. Um, I know, do we get the one game bump here? I don't even know because this guy's a brand new, they give it to what the special teams coach he's been there a week. I kind of wanted that Gardner Web. I'm going to get out of the battle with you. Let's go battle.
Give me give me these bulldogs. I love the one game bump. I always take the fired coach. But, but that not what, to me that works like if you've actually like, if the staff had been there previously, these players don't even know the coach. They might be the players coach you never know. I'm going for the one game. We got a battle done on the terriers and shot Watson. We're Colorado Buffalo. See? Maccadosh. You're on it with a dough. Yeah, I'm all over, Wofford here. Uh, next up, we have, uh, Rhode Island Temple. This is one we all went, uh, all went triple locked. The Temple owls laying that number against a good Rhode Island team. Um, so yeah, we got that. And then, uh, fucking sacred hat is taken on Monmouth. Monmouth layed 14 and a half. Dude, I know mom has just got drilled by Tennessee tech. They should fuck them up. That's a big number though. I think it's telling you they're going to fuck them up.
I'll lock up mom. I, mom was kind to me last year. They, you know, sacred hot beat in the last time. I mean, it's been like, they haven't played in like a decade. But sacred hot beat them last time they played. I'll stay away. You can have this one. You can have this one. Play the big number. Maccadosh. Lock it up. The Hawks of Monmouth. Oh my god. Oh, it was. Thank God. It was almost a perfect punt. Buffalo. It was sitting on the one yard line. And then it rolled into the end. So I think we're still 10 minutes left, Mac. Great day in 17 Buffalo. 14. Here we go. I'm going to be on visa when this happens. Isn't it? Drake is heading to Montana. I thought my dad looked a little shaky. It gets southern Utah. Drake, uh, they lost us to South Dakota mines. But it was game one of a new regime
bringing in the coach room Wisconsin. Uh, whoever falls. You're on the blank. It was named right now. But, um, Mom had land 35 and a half. I'm sorry. Montana living 30. I can't talk. Uh, Montana's favorite by 35 and a half points. That Montana. And a good, I do think this might be a moment to go in. They didn't play well last week. Yeah. I'll lay in locket. They would buy 60 double lock the grids in Bobby Kennedy. Next up, we have Tennessee State Georgia. If we talked about this one, yeah, we didn't lock this right. I didn't bet this yet. Now everybody in America's on Tennessee State. That's why it's like, yeah, yeah, I'm good. It was hilarious looking at my card though. Sometimes, you know, we were in Vegas for a good
amount of time. So like, you definitely see it better to you. Like, huh? Yeah. When did I bet that? Um, uh, yes, yes. Uh, next up, Ferman, Tennessee, we, uh, I think I took Ferman, right? I'm not betting this fucking game. I laid it with Tennessee, but no bet. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, then we had, uh, this one is one we all like triple lock on app, state laying 18 and a half against the, uh, cocaine bears of Maine. Uh, then the Citadel and Charlotte, we did like this one. We did go in on the 49ers here. So this was a double lock here. Uh, then, uh, we had this one here, which I'm fascinated to see here. What'd you end up doing on this one? UT Rio Grande, UTSA. I took the Mexicans. No bet. Yeah. Yeah. Same here. Uh, Fordham, North Dakota state, we laid the 41 and a half,
but, uh, did not bet this, uh, don't worry. I'm getting to the FCS games, but I feel like if you're going to listen to the episodes, you might just be an FCS fan, you're wondering about your boys. Towson, Navy. I did bet Towson plus 31 and a half. Did you go with me on this? Yeah. And it's down to 30 and a half. I like Towson here to lose by 20. Yeah. Let's go. Let's go. Pete Shinnex bunch. Uh, this game's fantastic. Western Carolina Campbell series goes back to 1937. Booey's Creek, North Carolina. The cats are on the road, laying three and a half. The over under at 67 and a half. I'm loading up on the over. I think both these defences are trash. I also think Campbell is going to upset them on the money line. So give me the Campbell. Campbell's. Yeah, let's go, dude. Take the opportunity. I'm telling you, this shit's going to have like 80 points. Let's go. Fun game. Very fun game from a scoring point of view. The offense is going to be flying in this game. What's Campbell's quarterback six killer? Western Carolina's got the, the NC State transfer.

we have St. Thomas. The Tommy's heading into Grand Forks series goes back to 1964. The fighting suit of North Dakota are laying 26 and a half Macintosh against the Tommy's. Tommy's looked like shit last week, but were they keeping it vanilla because they knew they had this game on deck. A little regionality here. Yeah, I think so. Give me the Tommy's. I think I'll take the Tommy's to no bad. I'm scared to go against that that that that building. Yeah, I'll go with the Tommy's to 26 and a half. They stay within it. Yeah, give it up. Man, give it up. Yeah, now I get your game on now. You should have gave it up, man, because the defender bit. North Alabama's had Arkansas. We stay away from this one. We actually laid it with the with the razor backs. None of us locked this up, but we laid it with the razor backs. All corn state. So this is an interesting one because my guest at the end of the show, which you'll see. He has a different opinion than me. I I laid it with Blake Anderson and Southern Miss Macintosh. Did you go in on this
with me? Yeah, I followed you on this one. So I take it that he likes all corn. He does. He does. So there you go. Yeah, let's go. How about this one? Tusculum taking on East Tennessee state in a series of good 100 years back. These bucket years need a win after your that's your boy too, Will Healey bad loss to Campbell at home to open up the season. Good thing. There's no bell check on deck. This game is a fire matchup here. We got a rivalry Tennessee tech Bobby Wilders bunch. They've been they've been hot lately heading to Shatton Nuga to take on the mocks in a series that goes back to 1938. Tennessee text late 12 and a half. This is a rivalry game. I know Tennessee tech won the matchup last year. And I think won it kind of a kind of a big game. I'm Ben. I'm a new guy. I am too. I am. This is the dog man. Let's go.
Double lock on the mocks plus 12 and a half. I don't know if the money lines live. Just take the 12 and a half. Sorry, GBO Farms. He's a he's a gold needle. So he's taking offense to this. He'll get over. Yeah, shout out to the mocks. I'm very excited to watch this game. That's a fire game. That's that might be the best game of the whole week for FCS on FCS. I like that Campbell matchup. Oh man. I know he had a wide open. It's a back quarterback. That should that could have been ball game right there. Yeah. Oh man. Next up we have Elizabeth City and then North Carolina Central in a series that goes back to 76. This is Sean Gilbert. Mike crazy. Let me see about this. Elizabeth City. I think he might be. Now he's living. Damn it. That my school's wrong. Former pit Panther. Great. Sean. Sean Gilbert. You are looking live. I wish there was a line on this because that'd be all over central. The
way that they blew that second half lead to Chris Dishman in Texas Southern. But also we got West Virginia State. What do you know about West Virginia State? Macintosh. Look at that. Look at those jackets right there. They grow to Bobby Moe. Bobby Moe looks pretty good week one day. Dude Bobby Moe is going to be 2 and 0 going into Akron without Poffenberger. And they're going to have that coordinator. We're going to be a Bobby Moe. They're going to win out right. Like an accurate. Akron. Fuck you. Fuck around and let a fan be your coordinator. But our Clark. You ready for this? Dude they're going to be live. They fucking thought they had big Poff to do that drive. No. You a look alive. Joe Moore had getting fired maybe. Northfolk state, old dominion. I ended up taking the points but I regionality but yeah. It's a little brother. They have to go. Next up we have the. This is a this is a so Richmond Howard. I love it. You know,
Richmond. A little Virginia DC battle there. Richmond like 14 and a half. Richard look really good last week. I thought Howard looked pretty good too. And in Ted White's first game is head coach 14 and a half. That feels like a big number. I'll lay it but no bet. Give me the points. Yeah, I don't know. They're moving them up like 20 yards. What's happening here? Yeah, what was the penalty? It's like this 30 yard penalty. What are we doing here? Yeah. No conviction to that play though. I do. I was thinking about this game. Villanova at Bucknell. Nova's lay at 27 and a half in a series. It's 126 years old. Lewis Berg, Pennsylvania. That's a big number. Yeah. How's Villanova's head space after blowing that fucking game? You think I mean that's why I hesitated on this one because I'm like, wait, are they super pissed? They got loan with McCoy. They're already playing. I'm even against the
Patriot League's orders. So do you play him? Can I or like how does this work? Because okay, you lose the way. I'm married. Thank you so much. The playoffs. I still win the see earth when the Patriot League. But that's a big number and a team that's an in state battle. Definitely on Bucknell. Do we bet it? Yeah, it's the only hesitation. It's like his villain over in fuck you mode. Yeah, I'll stay away. Give me Bucknell in the points though. Yeah. Give me Bucknell in the points. Vic goes past 28. I'm going in. I'm going in there. All right, let's talk about this game because I think I think you're on the same page as me if I had to guess. Delaware state, the Sean Jackson for the first time ever, they're going to Williamsburg, Virginia to Zable Stadium, take on William and Mary. You got a fake Bill Mary. Dude, I think Delaware State's going to win on the money line, dude. I do too. They just want as a huge dog on a miracle. Delaware State's going to get it. Let's go. There are no our legs, dude. Hornets, money line play. Zable Stadium.
Dude, they're good. Take the eight and have to back yourself up. Yeah. Yeah. I got a favorite tribe off that fucking game. And I'm telling you, if you haven't watched Delaware State, man, they they they've looked the part. This is a great game. Yeah, I know I'm watching your album. Yeah, and now this is completed a deep pass. Elan Davidson in a series that's 105 years old. Dammit, man. Can we play some defense? We'll play great defense the whole game. Elan's lying 33 and half, right? Yeah, I think I messed this up. Okay. I was like, what? How's he? David's. I messed this up. I messed this up. White tiger was messing with me at this time. Yeah. Dude, I actually think we could should consider betting like did you see that? You see that play? Just drop the touchdown. We got we're at five minutes and 20 seconds.
Yeah. Like it's cut off. I have it on my phone because my fucking TV is not working at this theater or it's a plus not working in this theater. Yeah, this fucking this this cleansing theater that I'm just yelling. You messed the money line in. I will lay the 33 and a half. I'm not going to bet it actually in state battle rivalry game. What are you doing here? I'm with you. I don't want to bet that, but I do think that it's probably the right side. Yeah. Oh my god. He was just lame college going to Alabama state and Montgomery in a series that goes back to 1932. No line on this, but fun little match up there for Andrew Bowdie. We should talk by this one. I think we should lock up now. Mercer. I know they didn't look good in one score game against who were they playing last week? We we cashed on it. I can't remember. We were watching Vegas. Who were they playing last
week? We cashed on it. I know that. I'm looking at it was on nationally. It was nationally televised. I'm just it was dissaddered in like the Chinese food restaurant commerce. Yes. Yes. We cashed on that. You want to take the blue hose or you want to take it? No, I actually we should lay it because press sharing look horrible. I know they lost their coach last year. Last year was a dream season for them. I think we should lay it actually. Okay. I'm actually going to I'm going to bet this one. I'm going to lay the 20 and a half with Mercer. Next up we go to the likes of Cila South Alabama. This was a double lock by me and Mac. We laid it with South Alabama. Cila might have an issue, you know, or two as Buffalo is at the five yard line. Oh my god. Mary State middle Tennessee.
Did you bet this? No, just because they they they choked this last year. They got to be ready. Derek may just got to be ready. Right? Yeah. I said away. But I took the points. I ain't laying fucking 21 with that fucking team. Yeah. I'm on Mary and the points as well. I'm actually thought about betting this. I might pull the trigger. I don't know. Man, this guy isn't this to touch down. Am I crazy? I know he stepped down. Okay. Good. Good. No, barely. Uh, cans of state taking on the Nazis of Nichols. I took the points. Uh, not Nazis and points. Yeah. Idaho State. Utah State. This is one of the best plays on the board. Lay it with Utah State. I think they're going to smash out of the state double. This is I think a triple lock actually. This line is ridiculous. Fucking lay that fucking hammer. I know. I can't believe that fucking. Did he actually catch that? I want to see a replay. The quarterback almost fumbled it too. Um, yeah, Utah State's a fucking smash. This is another
smash lock. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Eastern Kentucky at Jacksonville State. We're going heavy on Jackson ville State here laying the 20 and a half. Um, did he catch it? I think he might have actually. Yeah. They're not reviewing it. Mm, mm, mm, mm. Uh, so yes, uh, go in on Jack State. Kentucky State is taking out southern of the series that goes back to 1972. No line. Fun low man. Great logo by Kentucky State. Okay. I got a lot here. Northern Iowa. East to Washington. Like I said, there's not that many FCS on FCS games. I was impressed by E. Dub last week despite them blowing a 21 to three lead against Northern Arizona. And yeah, GBO Farms Cody Hawkins is still coach and Dan Hawkins is on a staff there at Idaho State. Um, Northern Iowa is a program that's really fell off in recent years. Going all the way to Cheney, Washington. I think I think used to Washington is going to cover this. I'm going to lay the six and I have I'm going to lock up E. Dub on the
on the inferno turf double lock. Yeah, let's go. Let's go. Uh, next up we have Austin P. The governor is taking on Vanneberg. I locked this in the points and thank God. Uh, well, we'll talk about this in a little bit with our guests. I'll put it like that. Mack, what did you end up going with your gums here? Yep. They're live. So double lock. Yeah. Yep. We're on the same page. I think. Come on. Take this kick back to the house. Take it back to the house. Uh, Charleston Southern, Georgia, Southern. I laid the 26 and a half with Georgia Southern. Don't love it. What'd you do here? But uh, laid up with no bet. Yeah. Uh, then we have, uh, uh, Abilene and Texas tech. I laid that you took the points. Didn't you? Yeah. I was tempted to bet, Abilene, just because of the unknown
with tech at quarterback. I don't like, I don't know, but I'll stay away for a game with tech. I think I don't think tech should be the covering machine that everybody thinks are going to be. I saw Cody Campbell's comments today. How about this one here? I actually, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm going in here. Illinois State rivalry game heading to McComb to take on Western Illinois in a series that goes back 122 years. 19 or four, they played their first battle. Illinois State's like 24 and a half Western look good week. What? But I'm locking up. I'll be a little bit late. 24 and a half. This is, this is a different beast. Yeah. I'm with you. Smash it. This is a blowout blowout city. Double lock. On a line. I state. Next up, we have Houston Christian rice. Did you win that bet? No. Yeah, but it took rice.
I took Houston, Christian, but didn't bet. Texas Wesley and taken on McNeese and Lake Charles for the first time ever. McNeese should be getting that first win. Central State. You know, it was on the staff at Central State. Santonio homes. Yeah. Oh, yeah. As they had the gambling for the first time ever, fun little match up there. Then you got West. Okay, let's talk about this West Florida on that purple turf in Conway, South Carolina or Conway, Arkansas. I mean, taking on Central Arkansas who look good last week. Can the journey continue on or should we bet Central Arkansas went to seven and a half? I was thinking the same thing. I kind of think Central Arkansas sticks to them. They just storm the field. I think we should go in on Central Arkansas. Yeah. Central Arkansas lock. Double lock on Central Arkansas land seven and a half. Come on. Come on, man. Give me the ball. I know. This stiff, dude. He's a backup court. I mean,
just what are you doing? Throw it away. Yeah, like two minutes back there. Yeah. Um, we're still got, we're still got two time outs though. So we could pump this thing before the two in the morning. Um, Chicago state catching 45 and a half. Lay it. That's a team. You're too, Martin. I'll lock up you too, Martin. They're going to fuck them. They're going to win by 70. I think you might be right. Does he call it off as the only question? He could call it off and they're still going to just win by resilience. Fade them till I think you're right. I think we should bet this. You see Martin laid 45 and a half. Let's go. They're not ready to go on the road in general. Yeah, they're not ready to go at home either. Yeah, the logo painted on the wrong side. Miles is that Alabama 8M and a series that goes back to 1939. Shout out to that. Edward Waters at the vet taking on Jackson State.
Yeah, I see we'll get another win VMI. We talked. Did you bet this? You bet this, didn't you? I bet VMI. I everybody's on these old Hocus Sinks. Franklin's going to run it up. Not so fast. VMI covers. They're going to shrink the game suck that clock. Suck that clock. That's what they run in the flexbone. Let's go. Yeah. I kind of, I might join you on that. That's one key. Pay attention to the picks page. Yeah. Pay attention to the picks page. This one is this one is unbelievable. Lot tech lay at 44 and a half against Northwestern state. I'm saying logic is Chicago state. We got to go into this state every game until I see it. We got a lock up tech. We got a lock up. 70. Yeah, lay the 44 and a half. Sunday company's going to fuck around that shit up to the app. Central Washington taking on Cal Poly. No line there. Shout out to Cal Poly. Look good. We talked about Northwestern. We also
took Northwestern against the Jackrabbit. I think that's going to be the trendy play. How about this one? Southern Utah hosting we per state. We were state getting 15 and a half. I'm going to lock up these wild. Okay. So that they looked all right with former Ohio State quarterback Devon Brann at the helm. Yeah. Yeah. Lock it up. We were. Yeah. I think this is disrespectful in overreaction line. We were one at North of Colorado. They're used to elevation here. Now they're going over to the T birds. I think we got a close one. You know, I have a sucker for we were state. Yeah, we're all over this man. Give me the 15 and a half. Let's go. Lamar Louisiana. We bet Lamar or I bet Lamar. Did you go in on this? I ended up going in on the picks page. I can't remember what we were four hours and by this point. Yeah. Well, I'll say this. We are guests might disagree with us here too. Yeah. I mean, I'm not a Desmeroguy.
Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Hampton is taking on Maryland. We locked up Maryland. All of us locked up. Made all three of us lay the fuck at it. Lay the 45 and a half September, lockslee in effect. Uh, Dixie State BYU. Unbelievable game here. We didn't touch this. I think we all took you actually. Did we all take BYU? I can't remember. I think we later with BYU, but it wasn't a bad. I love the game on the schedule. Dixie and BYU. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Texas A&M commerce, the Chinese food restaurant is catching 24 and a half. It's even have Austin. What am I missing here, man? Serious goes back 102 years. You want to take the Chinese food restaurant? I thought they played all right last week. Yeah. They're chippy. It is a backpack road forum. But yeah, why not? Let's go. Steven F. wins by 17. Hopefully they're not in fuck you mode. They're going in a net net. Negarious.
Well, and Steven F. Soft of, uh, McNiece, that's a rivalry. Yeah. Yeah. That's a double lock. That's a double lock. Load up. Load up here. Double lock on the Chinese food restaurant. Next up. South Dakota. Uh, Cohen and Greeley, dude, uh, probably wants to bet Northern Colorado again, even though they killed us on an extra point. This is too many. I think this is just respectful. Get it. Give me Northern Colorado a lot. I'll go back to the weather. They're off a loss. I'm with you. Double lock. The bears in Northern Colorado getting 21 and a half. Mack, you want to say something crazy? Sprinkle the money line. Why not? Greeley? I mean, sprinkle the money line. The heartbreak from a week ago. The heartbreak makes you stronger. Sprinkle the money line on Northern Colorado. Um, this game's terrible. Butler at Montana State for the first time ever. Butler barely got
passed somebody like an N.A. Ice, I, I, I school last week Montana State lay at 45 and a half. I kind of feel like we should parlay Montana and Montana state. Yeah. I like that. I can get on board. This is gonna be terrible. Let's do. Let's do the Montana two step in parlay. The grids and the bomb cats against a pioneer league that's struggling right now. Next up, we got Mercyhurst. We all triple locked the hospital known as Mercyhurst catched 28 and a half at Aggie Memorial. Take it under Mexico State. That is a triple lock on Mercyhurst. 22 to one on the money line. That one's a one. That one's a great one. That one's a great one. So we got a fourth and two right now. Northern Arizona's at Arizona. I took the Jackson. The points with 32 and a half. I did bet this. Did you go with me here? I'm on the jacks as well. Yeah. Let's go. I just think
Arizona is gonna, you know, they got a big game at BYU next week. Get Fafita out by the third quarter jack state in the game a little bit. Let's go. Yeah. Yep. Portland State's at San Diego State at the snapper. I ended up laying it with San Diego State, but no conviction really. Yeah. No bad. No bad. Next up, we had Morgan State, the bitch lap and bears catched 43 and a half at Arizona State. I can see Dilly him letting them in. I don't know. This game just came to terrible. Um, I guess I'll lay it there far out there in the desert. How about you? I laid it just couldn't tempi, but no bad. Fuck that. Come on. Get this first down. Get this fourth and two right now. Fourth and let's unlock two. It looks like three. Fourth and three from my great Danes. Come on. You can do this. You can do this. Yes. No, go, go, go. We're inside the 20. Um, what a throw. That
excuse is hell of a fucking throw. Yes. Mississippi Valley State at Sac State. We did triple locks, Sac State Legs. What the rate was double lock. 38 and a half, 38 and a half from and we did it. Um, and then we had UC Davis San Diego. I saw Jim Harball going back to San Diego where he started his coaching career, talking to his boys about this matchup. I think we should bet UC Davis. They were asleep last week. Dude, dude, we're inside the five. We're inside the five year right now. Um, I'm on, uh, I'm on UC, I'm actually going to bet UC Davis minus 16 and a half. It's, it's a rivalry. Like you said, oh, you're late to 16 and a half. They, they fucked around last week. They were asleep the first half. I think they have their full attention this week. UC Davis top 10 program. I'm late in the 16 and a half. Yeah. I'll have a 16 and a half to, uh, even though the Shrera's, he got the Harball speech, but Davis is much better. Davis was down 21 nothing, the Portland State. Yeah. Second half come back. Boom. I think they, they're fully
aware of what's going on here. I like laying the 16 and a half with the Aggies. Oh, man. Uh, then we have, uh, Texas Southern Prairie View. I locked up Prairie View. Did you go with me here? No, we battled. We battled and then we laid the chalk in the second game. It's a Sunday, noon. Yeah. And then in the, but Sunday we only have a couple games. So load it up on, South Carolina, St. Ed gets Florida A&M. And I have to jump over to visa. Unfortunately. Um, finishing up hilarious. But I will say this. I want to, we got to, we got a special guest here. We want to play his video and, you know, we might bring him back for more. There's still a lot of time left in this game. But you might be back. You might be back by the time they interview. Good sun. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, Macintosh. We have a guest. We were cool enough or we were cool enough. He was cool enough to
join our show. Uh, and that is Chris Van Dean from the Phil steel, you know, Phil steel magazine. He covers the FCS magazine. What is that flag? Uh, and so, uh, we talked to him for about 30 minutes or so. Um, so with no further ado, uh, let's jump to this. But if I'm not back, guys, we will see you tomorrow night. Um, but, uh, yeah. So, uh, here we go. Joining us on the FCS college football experience is the, well, one of the writers of the Phil steel FCS, 2026 preview magazine. Uh, I give you Chris Van died. How are you doing, Chris? Good to see you again, buddy. And happy football season. Hey, it's nice to see you again too, Colby. It's been a while. Uh, football season is finally here. You know, we got, you got a good taste of it. If you're an FCS fan like I am last week, uh, we got a full slate this week, we get the, uh, FBS and FCS slate a lot of, I don't even know the exact
number of games this week. There's so many between the FBS, FCS matchups and, uh, you know, all the other stuff going on. So it's awesome finally, football's finally here. And, you know, Phil steel publications, we're rocking a roller right now. Oh, and look, how long like first off folks, if you don't have a Phil steel magazine you need to, the FCS is a digital version. But if you've got a printer, you can even print that thing out and, and they have inside the press box. So as these FCS games are popping up against FBS schools, you know, if you're an FBS fan listening, this, you can say, hey, well, I want to learn about Lafayette starting quarterback. And this is the avenue to do that. But Chris, how long, how much time do you spend? Because I, I know the grind just because, you know, trying to find information, say on the FCS level, sometimes can be quite challenging. How much time does it take you? And like, maybe perhaps some of the battles with perhaps like the pioneer league or something, we're trying to find information seems pretty hard. You know, as far as the SCS magazine goes, we finished the FBS magazine that first week of June,
right around June 6th, June 7th every year. I usually take about three days off from work because I've worked like about 80, 85 hours a week for the last month. And then, soon as I come in Monday, but the couple things I got to clean up for the, from the magazine. And then I get started on the FCS magazine. And we spend the next, you know, about two months on the FCS magazine. It's not as, you know, we don't get to spend as much time, filled us, get to talk to the coaches and stuff like that. But we get a pretty good feel for the rosters. You know, I can talk to the SIDs if I need to, but it is a challenge, like you mentioned, there, as of like last week, there were still a couple swag teams that had me even posted a roster. And in the era of the transfer portal, it kind of helps to know who's on a team. So, you know, how many starting off press alignment as a team have back? How many, they're top 15 tacklers are back? Stuff like that.
And, you know, it's really scouring the internet. I'm sure you're all over Twitter, like I am trying to find something on these teams. You know, it's hard on the, on the, you know, the smaller FBS level. Like I know today, everyone is going crazy trying to find out of Reese Poffenborg. Yes, I was about to say it. That is the whole thing going on today. And the FCS is even harder. You know, that's, that's a challenge. But it is, I will say because of how hard it is, I think that's where the gambling edge comes in. Because if you can find the information, there are so many times when I know quarterbacks injured or I watch the FCS games a lot. And I'll see a quarterback leave the game in the fourth quarter, maybe on the last drive. And I know, oh, that kid, he was getting helped off the field or he got carted off. That might not be cooked into the line the next
week because especially not when it opens because they might not know the quarterback out of her. You know, so I do think if you follow the FCS, that is where we have an advantage as a better if you can watch the games and find the information, how that advantage over the books, which is rare. No, 100%. I've been saying this for a long time, but I think FCS is a bigger edge because those numbers, especially the more that gambling is being legalized, they get super, super sharp. You're betting an SEC game. That is a sharp number you're probably getting. Whereas, you know, and another thing is the difference between conference like we saw the pioneer league have a, you know, really bad week last week, but like a blowout win, you know, with them not watching it, I feel like they're just plugging in numbers and saying, well, it's not the Dakota State beat stats in 70 to seven. But looking at week one or week zero, however you want to label it, I do think and I know you've been covered for a while here. That might have been the most upsets I can recall. Houston Christian going down to Southeast Louisiana, winning outright. I lost
money on that game as I thought Southeast Louisiana would take it to Houston Christian who has a CVS in their stadium. But then West Florida, who I did, I did cash on even though I couldn't find the money line that I gave out out out there in Vegas at the time, but there just seemed to be a slew of upsets. I mean, some I benefited from some I did not. I know Chris Dishman, Texas Southern battle back. I took NC Central like a like a Bozo, but overall week one and you saw like Ohio Dominican take down more head state week one was crazy. I did benefit off of a way, memory play that I feel like I stole money from a bank because I had way memory money line against Villanova. But do you feel like there was more upsets this year than most years? And what do you truck it up to? Is that just portal? Is that just you know, just not in this week one? You don't know your roster as well. But did you feel like there was more upsets than traditionally a week one FCS? I felt like that. Yeah, especially that Thursday, that Thursday was nuts. Yeah.
And we also had a couple upsets that were barely avoided. The one that really shocked me that didn't happen that almost happened was UC Davis. Because I'm really high on this UC Davis team. And that was a really bad first half. They were down 21 nothing to Portland State, Portland State team that you know, looks looks very improved, but they've struggled in the past. And UC Davis team, we had third in the FCS Preseason Magazine, but they battled back. The quarterback really did not play well in that first half. I was happy to see they came back and won that game because yeah, when you go out on a limb, you know, we have UC Davis a little higher than everybody else. When you see them struggling like that, it's like, ooh, you know, but they came back that they really got to go into the second half. They won that game 31-24. So, you know, that was a that was a near upset. You mentioned Southeast Louisiana. I was really surprised by that one.
You know, Houston Christian has been a really bad program in the last few years. I do think they might be turning things around. I was really impressed by how they played that game. I don't think that was a fluke. Yeah, and they get rice this weekend. They get rice this weekend, which, you know, as much as I like Scotty Ables rice, that's a big number. If they play like they did last week, they might they might have a shot at that thing. But, you know, how do you all answer that by the way? I don't know how much experience they have against the option which would be a problem. True. True. True. 100%. But how do you alter like, like, say Portland state who had team that all of us, I mean, you know, and UC Davis, I'm not admit, they were clearly, you know, well, I wouldn't hit the panic button. Yeah, they might have just been looking past. They probably read the same line that we saw. And but I will say like Portland state was breaking in a new coach at the Bruce Barnum left Chris Fisk who came over from my belief central Washington. And you're sitting there and you're like, wait a second. Maybe he's got something. I know they play the Aztecs this week, which I don't I'm not optimistic for for the Vikings. But in general,
do you do you alter that saying, hey, you know, maybe moving forward, the Vikings might be a player or even we were state of one on the road at Northern Colorado. In the big sky, some of these teams that you kind of thought might be down or at least I did, is there something that you pinpoint? Are you going to go back to the well, perhaps on Portland state after performance like that say two weeks from now? I'm not going to I'm not ready to jump on Portland state yet. I just mainly because of the second half, they really did get dominated second half 31 to 3. Cleveland, the quarterback for UC Davis had a really bad first half. I think a lot of people at the end of the first half, if you're UC Davis thing, you were ready to hit the panic button on the quarterback. But then the second half, he played much better. He ended up throwing for 287 yards through two touchdowns in second half. So I think calm down on the panic button. I also think there's something to say when you have a new coach, a lot of new players, you don't have any tape on these guys. And I think that is one thing that comes into play sometimes that we don't quite understand
is when you don't have tape on anybody, you don't know what to expect, you don't know what they're running. You know, they probably watched some tape from from coach Fisk's previous draw. I would just say central Washington. Yeah. Maybe they were able to find some central Washington tape. They didn't watch that. I don't know. But it sure wouldn't do them any good to watch Portland States tape from last year trying to figure out what their lungs dramatically. And the quarterback played a lot better than they got last year. Tyree Smith threw for 268 yards. Last year, their quarterback threw four touchdowns and 16 interceptions. There are three quarterbacks combined for six touchdowns and 22 interceptions. Hell, I could play for them. But yeah, I'm not ready to pound some Portland State yet. You mentioned Weber State though. They did bring in a big time transfer quarterback. I believe it's Devin Brown. Yes. Yes. I've always
loved because he wears the Sammy ball jersey jumper at 33. I know that he, you know, the one time we saw him play at Ohio State really didn't go very well. But, you know, he was a highly recruited kid. Obviously, if he's playing at Ohio State, someone thought something of him. So going down the FCS level, I think that, you know, he can really tear up the FCS level if he has some players around him. And yeah, they look good. He look good. So Weber states the team, I am a little more intrigued that. Yeah. I mean, another one of the games that was drunk because Northern Colorado battles all the way back ties it up with three seconds left and then gets their extra point blocked. Well, not even blocked. The kicker stubbed his toe on the turf. Quite, quite the game. And we how about Cal Poly, man? I mean, Cal Poly is a team Tim Skipper had done a good job as an interim head coach at Fresno and at UCLA. And I'm curious, Chris, like this Anthony Griggs be
character of the quarterback of Cal Poly. I know it was just one game, but I did not know that he was this good 26 or 35 319 9.1 yards of completion for touchdowns and another 62 on the ground and a rushing score. This is one where I say like, whoa, I mean, I, I get it. It was John Madden night. It was a sell out crowd. They were honoring Madden who left them like millions of dollars to build that facility. But is this one where I like, I didn't have Cal Poly and you're one of Skipper. I thought I liked the higher long term, but I was like, should we be paying attention? You think that Cal Poly moving forward after a performance like that? I am intrigued by Cal Poly because last year, I remember watching them against Sac State and I took Sac State in that game. And I never had a chance to cover. Cal Poly won that game 32-24. They were getting 16 in the half.
At that time, sex, Cal Poly was three and two. The next three weeks, they played UC Davis, Montana, Montana, state, season kind of went off the rails. They brought into veteran coach, like Tim Skipper, like you mentioned. You have an athletic quarterback like Griggs be. I tell you what, Cal Poly could be a team that wins some games here. The next two out of the next three weeks, I think they're going to be pretty heavily favored. Big game at Eastern Washington on a 28. So if they win that game at Eastern Washington, they could be sitting at four and one. On the flip side of Cal Poly, I am concerned about Idaho. I feel like there's Mojo left with Jason Beckett. And they've been living off of that. I took Cal Poly money line. Not that I really felt like they're better than Idaho, but it was John Madden night. It was a vibes check. But I, I, I, I kind of agree with you. Yeah. Grrr, unbelievable. I couldn't believe you through that because he could have ran for the first down. But unbelievable game. But I think you're onto something there. I took, they play Utah tonight.
You know, your people we've seen this interview right around where that games being played. But I, I'm taking Utah big. I think Idaho has kind of lost that Mojo. There a team I'm down on in the big sky as well. Yeah. I just, an unbelievable first week of, of FCS football. I mean, I was lucky enough that a lightning delay hit the Georgetown Lafayette game. But I was curious. So let's just, let's jump forward. We have a bunch of big time games this week. You know, a lot FBS versus FCS. There are some good FCS upon FCS matchups like Tennessee, Tech Chat, Nougat or, you know, Western Carolina Campbell seems appealing, especially if you like the bet the over. Are there some that you've pinpointed maybe four or five that you've pinpointed you say we should go in even if it's FBS, even if it's FBS because to me, like I see a game like Youngstown and Kentucky and I say, Oh, well, can we'll Stein have his boys ready? I know it's a big jump to the SEC. But Youngstown with, but with Brungard might be a player this year going deep
into the playoffs, is there a couple that you've pinpointed that you say, Hey, this, there's golden them there hills. I'll tell you what, we'll start with that Youngstown state game. And I'm not, I'm not going to necessarily take Youngstown state in the scheme because I want to see Kentucky play first in this offense. But I will say I think Kentucky's offense will move the ball well. Kenny Minciot quarterback now is a dual threat. And you have offensive coach in Will Stein taking over. This is not going to be the Mark Stubz Kentucky teams that we've seen in years past where they're going to, you know, just kind of grind games out, shut down the run like they've done. The big ball run the whole time. Don't like the Youngstown state defense very much. You know, the last time we saw them going in the last week and not the count last week against Marcy Hurst. But last year, if you remember the playoff game against Yale, that was a horrific ending
in the season for Youngstown state, up 28 late third quarter. And that defense just wilted. And as soon as I saw that starting to happen last year, I knew it was coming. I was like, they got it the 14. I was like, this is trouble. Runguard's going to have to do it on his own because this defense is not going to help them. And that's been kind of an issue for Youngstown state for a few years. The total 62 and a half are computer-hatted at 69 points. I think I would take, if I'm taking the side, I would take Youngstown state to cover because I do think they'll score some points in this game. But I think the Kentucky's offense being that they haven't, you know, organ offense and coordinator coming in. They brought in some big time transfers. I know Will Stein loves the offensive line. He was very high on the offense line when he talked to Phil this year. So I think this offense is going to click right away. And I think this game could go to the total. Brungguard is going to be a lot of fun. I'm trying to go, you know, we're only a couple hours from,
about an hour and a half in Youngstown. So I'm trying to go down in Youngstown to see one of those games this year. I think they're playing South Dakota on a 26. I'm going to try to get in the stand-boss stadium for that one. Heck yeah, go into the ice castle. I like that play too. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, I still probably take the points, but I do think the over is probably the better play now that you bring it up. What else you got pin point of there? Any other, like, and I guess we can just start right there. Like for me, one that jumped out and I'm curious, it was like the Bryant Bulldogs beat you mass last year, right? They should have beat Florida International. I think it was two years ago, right? Or maybe it was three, one of the two. But they fared pretty well. They covered for me against New Mexico State last year as well. They're getting like 37 and a half against Army. And I'm like, Army goes on these 10 minute drives. I do, I am bullish on Army this year. I took them actually as a shot to win their conference. But that one to me, I circled as in like, well, Army have enough time to win by that much. I don't
know that they will. That was one that I circled. Is there any other FPS, FCS ones that jump out to you? Oh, yeah. I've got us to you. I'm going to go to Austin P. I think Austin P's offense is going to move the ball on Vanderbilt. This is not last year's Vanderbilt team. They're not going to put up 50, 60 points. I know there's a lot of excitement because of Jared Curtis, but he's split in time. He's not starting the game. Blaz Burlowitz, who was a transfer from New Mexico State. He was Bobby's backup going back to New Mexico State. So he knows the offense, but I don't like when teams rotate quarterbacks. And that's kind of the gist I got. I know that Clark Lee already said they're both going to play, which to me didn't sound like Jared Curtis is going to play when this game is out of hand. This sounded like Jared Curtis is going to play in the first half. So I expect to see both quarterbacks early. I don't like when teams rotate quarterbacks. It seems to me like, you know, you
don't ever really get into a groove. Austin P got a good start to the season last week. Beat Gardner Webb 35-17. Chris Parsons, a real deal. Dull threat quarterback. Had an excellent season last year. And Austin P, I think, is a team that's going to contend and probably make the playoffs this year. He got Parsons through for 2400 yards, 18 touchdowns, only three interceptions last year. Rush for almost 500 yards. He was there to actually, actually, I believe it was over 700 yards. He was their top rusher. And remember, last year, Austin P smoked middle Tennessee State, 30-15 in the opener. And then only lost the Georgia, 28-6 the following week. And I know Georgia is horrific against FCS teams as far as covering the spread. They're 0-15 in one against the spread against those FCS. They're favored to 38 more. 0-10 against FCS teams on a Kirby smart. But still, 28-6 was a little jarring for me. I didn't
expect to be back close. So, you know, Austin P seems to play these games better than you would expect. And 31 and a half, I believe, is the number right now. Yeah. So I think there's a lot of backdoor potential with Austin P also. It's an in-state game. Yeah. So I'll take the governors to cover this game. And then I will also go with a play I put out a couple of places, Outcorn State against Southern Miss. Outcorn. Yeah, sell me on this one. Yeah. It's just Southern Miss team that's completely new. As far as I know, no starters back last year. They had one starter back from last year. But that kid was an offense. Well, I'm medically retired. They might be getting. It's one of those eligibility questions. I got a couple of one last year's team. I have no idea if they're playing there. We'll find out. But, you know, regardless, it's a completely new team. Outcorn State getting 21 and a half here. And I like to Outcorn State end of the year
last year. They won five of their last seven games. A prairie view team who I really respect early in the season. They only lost to that team by one. They only lost to Jackson State by six. I think the swag is actually improving a little bit. You know, we saw Prairie View last week. I was on Prairie View against Tarleton. And while they covered it was a little dicey. They lost by 19. They were getting 19 and a half. I believe was the closing line. But they did end up with 519 yards in that game. So I think the swag is getting better. And I think Outcorn's improved. Their head coach remained or subject Thomas is in his third season. Jalen Tolbert took over that job mid season last year. Ended up with 15 touchdowns, seven other sections. He's back. They have 11 starters back. More experience team. The top running back was had an excellent season last year. Jordan Suule. He's back. So 21 and a half seems like a lot of points for a team to cover. Another in-state game. Outcorn's kids weren't recruited by Southern Mess probably.
Probably feel a little disrespected. Now they have a chance to play a team that Blake Anderson I think is a good coach long and a tooth. But he's going to have to build this thing up because there's been a lot of turmoil in that program the last few years. And you bring in a tough who's there one year. And then you think you found your coach. You take him off Marshall, take the guy who led Marshall to the Sunbelt Championship. And you take him, you think you found your coach and he leaves you after one season. That's a lot of things going on or had his word. It's going to take some time to rebuild that program. Yeah, heartbreak hotel. I know some Southern Miss fans just says an ECU guy that they thought they had him lot like for the next four or five years before he would make a big jump to the SEC. I will mention this. You mentioned you mentioned Prairie View. Why I'm high on as well. Tremaine Jackson outstanding football coach. I think he'll probably be in the FBS somewhat soon. They're taking on Texas Southern Sunday. If Texas Southern
battled back from the North Carolina Central was up double digits on him. Chris Dishman great, great job because I didn't see them winning that game, but they they battle back. They beat N. T Central. They play Sunday. I think the kick is noon. It's like a solo game. We don't have any other game going on. Stand alone. I do like Prairie View. I thought they look good against Tarleton considering the money that Tarleton's throwing around in the FCS. That is one that I was going to go on is lay the points. Prove it to me again, Texas Southern. I think Prairie View would be the one that I that I would I would take in that game. But I and I liked them for the season. A lot of the matchups they're going up against you right. I think the swag is up. But but yeah, that's one that it caught my eye. I'm curious your take on I watched Lamar beat Abelian Christian last week. They play at Louisiana of the Rage Incagins, which for whatever reason, Michael Desmerot, like they get they go bowling every year at like seven wins or six wins. But he hasn't been able to
hit that high ceiling that we all thought he was going to be able to once once he took over for Napier. Do you see that being a game by chance? I don't that was actually a play that we put out on inside the press box. I was going to subscribe. I was know that. I feel back. I that that game was. I believe Christian. Yeah, a little more experience. Team Louisiana coming back this year. The storm has got I think an underrated Louisiana team. So we had a we had Louisiana by 24 or computer grade with us. So we wouldn't want to have you use the Cajun's to press box. But kind of makes sense too because they they that was a big emotional game because Abelian had beat him in the playoffs last year. So getting that now you relax a little bit. You go up there to Cajun Field. Any other plays that that you that you have before we we get out of here because I
know and I'm going to try to bring you back as often as we can moving forward, man. I appreciate you taking time for us. But is there any other ones that what about FCS on FCS? Absolutely. I've got two. I'm going to mention one. I'm going to go with Wofford. Line opened up yesterday. It's six and a half and this Gardner Web team I wonder about you know where they're there. But to be honest, this was a play for me before I knew the Gardner Web coach was getting suspended and now it's been dismissed after one game. That career record back guys. Oh and one already fired man. That's a row. Yeah. I heard I heard speculation. I don't know this to be true. But someone was talking about it in our chat last night that I guess he had hit on a girl that that I guess was somehow related to his wife down the pipeline. So like she told the wife or she would see what public with it. But Chris McCullough one he came over from UT Permian Basin. One game as a head coach of Gardner Web.
You lose Pete Bennett now the interim and I want to yeah one in touch just like that. Hey, honey, I coached in the FCS. So like Wofford. Wow. Very impressive for Sean Watson against the Citadel last week. But continue making your point. I'm sorry. Yeah. If you look at Wofford last year, the office really struggled early in the year. They made a quarterback change. They were 0 and 5 made a quarterback change to JT Bayard. And the offense improved greatly. They went from I believe it was like 13 14 points of game in the first five games the 28 points of game in their last seven. One six of their last seven games. And you know, a couple of those wins were, you know, not over the better teams in the conference. But a 28 point or 22 point win against Chattanooga at the end of the year. I thought was impressive. 42 point win against VMI who wasn't very good. But, you know, that was still, you know, putting up 507 yards, which I wouldn't have thought at the beginning of this season, Wofford was going to do anybody. You're laying under a touchdown here
against the team and all kinds of turmoil. And like you mentioned, Wofford was very impressive last week. I think this team could be a sneaky contender in the so-called when I was writing the FCS magazine, I was like, I don't know how much to believe here because, you know, the so-called was such a weird conference last year. And, you know, that the losses were close, but they were also where they, you know, they didn't put up a lot of offense against Mercer and Western Carolina at the beginning of the year. And I remember that Western Carolina game, they should have got beat by a lot more. But the quarterback change, I really think sparked them. And ever since then, they've been a play on team for me. So I think, yeah, I think six and a half as a gift. I'll be curious to see, and I haven't actually looked. I saw that line yesterday. I haven't looked to see if that line has moved since the news came out that he's been dismissed. But that's one of those things where I don't think it will. Because how many people are paying attention to Wofford? He's guarding it with me. 100% and I think if his move has been minimal, I will say historically, the FCS lines like on Saturday
morning will jump pretty big. Yeah. Yeah. So, so, touch down on. Yes. Yes. And one thing that talking so con, we have noticed the overs in the Western Carolina games have been just a cash cow over the past couple of years. Last week was looking bleak first half, but no, Kerwin Bell, that offense started flying in the second half, the over hits. They're taking on Campbell this week. That's one that I'm already, Campbell's offense looked pretty darn good to get CTSU with their quarterback's name, Sixkiller. Sixkiller is his last name. Yeah. Oh my God. What a name. What a name. But, but yeah, that's another one that I'm going to look for. Yeah, Camden Sixkiller. Yeah. That's actually, I wasn't necessarily going to use it for your show, but that is a game that I have circled as a play. That total is 73. I'm sorry, 67 in the
half. Our computer at 73 and a half points. I don't think you can undervalue Western Carolina's offense. Lex Thomas, the transfer from NC State came over. He was a highly recruited kid coming out of high school and had a great start. I think you threw for three hundred and seventy yards last week in his first start. That Kerwin Bell, you know, he's his spurrier guy. He learned to underspirier. So those offense is fly, man. Yeah. The Orlando Thunder of the world leading in 90s. I have his card. They have sweetest jerseys. Oh, I remember the big cloud, right? Was there a big cloud on their helmet, the lightning bolt? There's like line green, right? Right? Green jerseys. I got it. They got to bring that team back. Hey, you have fell. Listen, bring that team back. What was the other FCS play you wanted to get to before we get at him? I'm going to throw one more out. This one, this one I'm going to put a small taste on because I does make me a little nervous, but I'm going to go against Tennessee Tech this week. And they have been a machine
lately, but they did end the season last year, you know, playing a lot of close games. It's a pretty new Tennessee Tech team. A lot of transfers, much like last year. You know, they look good in week one, but I also was impressed with Tennessee Chatnouga and the 24 to 10 win over West Georgia. The catch in 12 and a half points at home. Our computer had this closer to six. I think that Chatnouga is going to be a much improved team. You know, that was his first losing season last year for Rusty Wright at Chatnouga. They had won at least six games every year, playoff contender most years. And, you know, they had an inexperienced team. They didn't get the quarterback play they wanted. The defense took a big step back in the last couple of years, but I think they that they're pat on the back on the right track this year. I had them pegged second in the socon. So, you know, getting 12 and a half at home, I think that's a good spot for Chattanooga.
Going against Tennessee Tech does make me nervous, like I mentioned. You know, that's a team Bobby Wilder as a coach, I really respect. And he turned his program around fast, didn't he? That first season, they started winning games at the end of the year. I think they won like their last four or five games this first year there. We're out in the bunch of transfers last year of Asperus, quarterback. You know, now he brings in Leatherwood from Southeast Missouri State. And, you know, the offense looks like it's not going to skip a beat. But they also were playing a modem of team that is notoriously poor on defense. And no longer has Derek Robertson. I know Frankie Weaver played a lot last year when Robertson heard and played well at times. But Leatherwood looked good last week. I'm not surprised by that, but I do think that Chattanooga is going to have some of the form defensively much better than Monmouth does and keep this game a little closer. Yeah, rivalry games too. I mean, in-state battle, Bobby Wilder. Yeah, I thought he got a raw deal at Old Dominion.
Yeah, Chattanooga really thumped them last year. We were on, or I'm sorry, tech, tech, Chattanooga last year. We were on tech in that game, 513 to 274 yards. But I think it could be, you know, a little bit of a reversal this year. Not that Chattanooga is going to win this game out, right? But I do think they'll keep it close. There we go. I'm excited to watch. That's one of the better FCS upon FCS games, I think, for the whole weekend. All right, folks. Once again, Chris Van, Chris Van Dine here, go check out his magazine. You can get this thing. That's the best part about this. For me football junkies, like you could be mid-season and realize, wait, I need to check on something here. Let's go see who is, oh, Illinois State started quarterbacks out. Who's the backup? Let me go out and check out, you know, the Phil Steele FCS preview. They have all the information because sometimes it'll be hard. You can go to the team website. There's six quarterbacks listed. You don't know who is number two. So Chris, I appreciate
you hopping on, brother. Great to reconnect. And hopefully we can make this a weekly thing, man. Absolutely. Also for FCS fans, let me mention Phil Steele has an FCS YouTube tour. I give him four, five FCS plays every week. Last week we had a rough start one and three. But last two years, the previous two years, we were 64 and 34 on the FCS plays we put out in YouTube tour. So definitely check it out. That goes out Friday morning. We will have, I believe four plays this week on the YouTube tour in the FCS. So check that out and be on YouTube on Phil Steele's channel tomorrow morning. I will throw the link in there tomorrow morning so people can click on it from this page. So yeah, fantastic stuff. Chris, you're the man, brother. Enjoy the weekend. And I can't wait to talk next week about somewhere. I think I actually like the card next week better than this week. So hopefully I'll be able to get you on the show next week. And we can talk more FCS. It is the best. And we might have just a historic season the way week one played out.
I love it. I'd love to join you again next week. Just let me know. I'll be there. There we go. Appreciate your brother. Appreciate Chris joining the show. Dundee is over at Beeson. So let's close this out. It was only Thursday. Obviously a hell of a night. But hey, action continues tomorrow. And then Saturday the marathon begins. We got Sunday football, Monday football, happy Labor Day, talk to Jack Fucks, whatever I talk to you. This is the college basketball college football, college football experience. I don't even know what time it is or what show we're on. You better start thinking about yours. And we are out of here. Cheers.
And you know what to get. There's the book. Everybody's trying to stop this team. But we keep knocking on the air. To make the phone just want to cut the screen. I'm a whole world. Let's get with the game. Never did a time in a team. So I think we waited.
