College Football Week 2 Best Bets With VSIN's Dustin Swedelson | The College Football Experience (Ep. 3164)

About this episode

Sports Gambling Podcast Network is made possible by:

The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 2026 season coverage with college football Week 2 best bets, a special crossover with VSiN's Dustin Swedelson. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) hands over the guest chair to Dustin Swedelson (@dustinswedelson), host of Cashing Out, and the two run Dustin's favorite plays across the Week 2 board. Can Kentucky stay inside the hook and cover at home against Alabama? Is Army worth laying the field goal against South Florida? Does Memphis at Boise State live up to its billing as the best game on the slate and stay under the total? Can Georgia Tech hang with Tennessee as a double-digit home dog? And is Utah the cleanest lay of the weekend against Arkansas?

Before the picks, the guys dig into what is actually wrong with college football right now, from super-conferences hoarding talent to soft non-conference scheduling and the transfer portal reshaping how you scout Group of Five quarterbacks. Then they work the marquee board together, from Oklahoma at Michigan to Ohio State at Texas, mixing sides, totals and team totals along the way. We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.

Also, don't forget iTunes, Spotify, all that good stuff. We are the college football experience. And this is a bonus episode. And look, this is an episode that I feel like I've wanted to do for a long time, as I mentioned. And well, it's finally come to fruition. Curious about its plays. We're gonna see if we can follow them. And I just look, I'm ready to talk shit to them. All right. If you're wondering who the hell you're listening to, that is fair. My name is Kobe Swingard, database, Dan A.K.A. Pick, done, D.

That's how to pick. This is a pick. It's picked on D. That's how to pick. This is a pick. It's picked on D. Welcome to the land down under. We are in the land down under. And I am honored to have this guy on hopefully. You've caught him on Vison. You should, I mean, hopefully you have Vison, you're checking him out. What, I feel like what five days a week is it? The Thursdays, 11 PM to 2 AM Eastern. He is the host of cashing out. Love having this guy on the show. Give it up for the one and only Dustin Sweedelson. How you doing, brother? Kobe, we have the friendship built by Casey Keeler. Because the first time we met in person, we both said, I'm on Temple over. I think it was three and a half wins last year. We cast that sucker.

I think before Thanksgiving. And I was like, if this guy is on Casey Keeler and I'm on Casey Keeler, like we got to come together as a group. But I love being here. I love chatting with you every week on my show. This is one of those situations where we're doing a home and home. Although you've done like 4,000 home games for me. So I think I either owe you a lot of money. Or I owe you like a thousand more episodes. No, no, we could work that out. I mean, look, not the money, the episodes, right? The money, look, I'm not going to take money from a friend of mine. All right, but well, at least not right now. I haven't hit the, maybe later in life after I discovered a few new drugs. Maybe I haven't tried. But, buddy, Casey Keeler. And I was surprised, by the way, that there was no Keeler on this car to tell you the truth. But, yeah, I mean, first off, folks, if you're on X, follow Dustin on Twitter at Dustin Sweedelson. That's SWEDL, SON there. And make sure you're checking out Cash and Out every single, well, it's five days a week.

But that thing runs seven days a week, right? I'm Sunday through Thursday on Cash and Out. And then I do the early window live bet Saturday for college football, 9 a.m. to noon. You know, I'm curious, what would you have done here? They gave me the choice. Do I want 9 a.m. or noon or the late window? I prefer the early window because I want to hit the ground running and then enjoy the late slate the rest of the day. I don't want to have to be prepping the show during the early games and kind of like be half in, half out and then hit the ground running. So I chose the early slate, even though for someone who's a night owl all week, it's a little bit more difficult to wake up at like 630 in the morning. It is. And as someone that was just out there in Vegas and Tim Murray texted me, hey, can you come on the show? And I said, hell yeah, man, anytime. And then he followed up with like 20 minutes later, like it is a show at 630 in the morning and I was like, oh, well, I already said yes. But no, I think you chose right. That shows the discipline and the love you have for college football because you know,

Dan, while that's that's going to affect your Friday night, you're going to say, honey, I cannot watch this movie with you. I have to be asleep. By the way, congratulations. I know you're recently engaged. All right. I mean, right there to talk about your number one lock hitting brother. And once a big day, the big day is April 3rd and she puts up with a lot because every time we go out to dinner on a Saturday night, you know, it's with us because like I owe her dinner on Saturday night. She puts up with it all week. We only have a couple of windows because of my schedule to go out. There is a phone out. You're literally at a nice steakhouse on Saturday nights and like the waiters are waiters are coming by on Saturday and they're like, what's the score? What's going on? Oh, you're on this game now. Can you check this game for us? She just puts up with the fact that this is the life that unfortunately she chose because I chose it a long time ago and I can't quit it. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, look, it starts off like that. Like I'm still happily married, but I could tell you that she might hate sports a little

bit more by about around year five. It starts to be like, really, you're still doing this. You're still talking. You're still. But don't worry. All right. That's that that looked the, you know, the pre store, whoever will warn you saying they say when you're getting married, you know, like that, you know, you're going to go through some tough times and I might have screamed. I might have screamed recently at a parlay when Albany didn't score from the one yard line and it was in the wee hours of the night because the games was the handle one of these fake lightning delays. So I do I had UMass money line parlayed with Albany money line for 10 grand. So I UMass or Albany scores at the one yard line with 30 seconds left. They call a false start. So they let the whole play run out. They call a false start, put them back at the six. They get back down to the three and I get no points. I mean, I was screaming man, screaming at the TV and my wife might have thought about

divorce. She might have called the lawyer that night. I don't know. But, but yeah. So I mean, look, congratulations. She's new to it. I'm going to call back in five years from now and see how it's going. But we got to talk football, buddy. And I'm just curious right now. First off, like the chat is saying right here, Michael in the chat saying entire slate is incredible this week. It's awesome. It's a shame they didn't like kind of cut it into gave us some of these in week one because this is an absolute banger of a week. But how's the season between you thus far? All right. So look, you start betting on things in life. You realize you just want to feel something, right? I go through and I do the tally of where I'm at heading into the SMU floor to state game because at that point, I was on the edge. I wanted to bet the under. I wanted SMU. I knew I had to do something, but I wasn't going to force it. Then I did the tally of week zero and week one together and I was exactly 13 and 13 on the season. So I was like, you know what? We have to bet this game because I need to be down one or I need to be up one on the

year. We went SMU money line. So technically we're up, but we're down with the big being paid like a unit plus not horrible. But we need these dogs to start barking, bro. Our whole thing, our identity for so long is this team is being disrespected. We know more about these obscure schools. I went to Valdosta state. That's been my MO since day one, like under like 15 minutes for a Valdosta state drop in this interview. That is a, that is a, I had the lead, I had the lead, that's my guy. That's my guy. But like so much of what we do is people don't realize this quarterback can play. This coach is not scared of this and he's going to have a creative game plan and knock down a giant. I'm worried that the transfer portal is taking so many of those opportunities away from us. They're still out there, but it's getting harder and harder to pick them. It feels like. Well, and also the scheduling like a much shittier like, you know, group of five teams

for the most part. Yeah. That's what still makes it so sweet. Like, and the evaluation process is kind of a head scratcher. Like, to your point, it is, you know, it's been a lot of the favorites have been, you know, taking care of business, but the spreads have been ridiculous. I think they've purposely done that to try to improve their chances of making the playoffs. Also I think they realize that your, your whole roster like the, when I say they, the power five realize, wait, we have 70 new players. Let's not play. I heard Dave Doran bitching about this all off season. Why are we starting with Virginia? The ACC did this to us. We should have been starting with Richmond or something or Towson, right? And I think most coaches are doing that. That's not good for the sport, by the way, but, you know, but the one thing that I do think is, and why you saw Western Michigan beat Michigan, even though the score tells us differently. And why Boise almost beat Oregon and kind of had the, I think they had the lead, the largest

amount of the time in that game. And UMass took down, and when, oh, Tulsa, I was, I was on UMass in Tulsa. Was not on the other two. But I think the evaluation, man, one thing that I like hit on on our preseason was like pop Watts, and I thought was a very good quarterback. Like I thought he has a ton of potential. I only started like two or three games at Virginia Tech, but I thought he flashed in those games. And I was calling out, no, I didn't think, like I sprinkled the money line. I wasn't like, oh, they're definitely going to win the, the game. But I thought they would definitely cover. Rutgers goes out and gets Dylan Longerin, who's not even starting for the Red Bandanta game now. So against, I was dumbfounded by Rutgers watching Boston College's film from last year and saying, we want that guy, right? And, and then you have pop Wattson, or you could say this for a lot of other quarterbacks that are in the power of five. I thought Alberto Mendoza didn't look incredible for Georgia Tech. Oh.

Yeah, there's a bunch of these that you can go one by one on. But to see UMass land pop Wattson, you can really get an edge, I think, as a mid major by simply being better at evaluating talent, because I don't know how the hell the power of five missed. And it's only one game for pop Wattson, but he looked the part to me and he was playing at a power five school past couple of years. I think that's something that maybe we should be, you know, this is such an early and such a small sample size of seeing this many players, you know, changing rosters. I'm wondering if that's going to be an edge. You saw, you know, whether it was North Texas last year or some of the other schools. I wonder if that like will be the equalizer perhaps to some of the group of five teams being completely rated. Yeah, I mean, if a group schools were turning a quarterback or a quarterback has experience, like you want to fire him. Like, for instance, the Akron game, the second it felt like Poffenbarger wasn't going to be available there. You're like, okay, they have no hope in this at all.

And if one of those schools has a veteran quarterback that can just be respectable, they're usually catching a pretty good number. They can be live here. It's the other ones that are trying to develop their own, which is like, that is so foolhardy if you're at that level. I feel like you should be like last chance you. It should be, oh, you're really talented. You never put it together. We'll give you one last opportunity to play because if you develop someone and you're successful, he's gone next year. You're not returning a quarterback who can play at that level. So I would just be the team that says, hey, we welcome you with open arms. You have one more year of eligibility. We're going to put you in a position to be the best possible. We need you. You need us. This is the fit. But I would not, I might not even have a freshman on my roster if I was a max school going forward. That's a good point. That's a really good point. Unless it's like a, well, you could also say that you might be able to find more diamonds in the rough because high school recruiting is down. But yeah, that's a good point, though. One of the things I would say, you know, just in general about the, the sport is we got a schedule better week one.

Like, look, I, I was not cool with how many people were shitting on week one because I thought there was cool rivalry games and football, football. But you're already seeing, I saw David Pollock say, or it should never schedule boys. He stayed ever again. Why? I get it. Like, boys, he plays them tough. So I get saying that, but we should encourage that. You know what I mean? Like we need it. We need it. We still need it. See, to me, this is less about the portal stuff. This is the super conferences, like the super conferences are worse for college football than anything because you have so many powers and one league. Look, I still don't consider the big 12 of power squad, but powerfully, I know people don't like that. But think about the big 12. If it's still at Oklahoma in Texas, what it would look like, like the way that things would be spread out a little bit more here with these monsters. Instead, we've got a situation now where it's like, they're all so isolated in two major leagues because the ACC's on the outskirts as well. It's like, we've just made this so much more difficult because they just want to play

each other and they can decide within their own conference who's going to end up going here based on the way the schedule shakes out. But even they don't have balance in their schedules. Like, how does Penn State get the schedule they're getting in other schools have to see original high-o-state and in the end of the season? Like, how does that make any sense? And you've kind of seen it with the big 10. They're dominance, you know, that like the one validation that I'll give the SEC with what they normally 90% of what they say in media days is like, come on, dude, shut up. But the fact that Indiana, Ohio State and Michigan, those three years scheduled nobody in the non-conference with exception of East Carolina who covered against Michigan. Real quick. So I just went back to 2018 because this was one, this is one of the years where like, I really got into betting for the first time like 2017. I was in it 2018. I was living it. This was Saturday week one and I'm just going to do ranked games. Alabama, Louisville. And by the way, that might have been Lamar. Lamar, no, it wasn't. It was past that quarterback for Louisville. We had Ohio State, Oregon State, which whatever.

Number six Washington went to number nine, Auburn. Number six at number nine and week one of the season. Okay. We had number 12 Notre Dame hosting number 14 Michigan. We had number 17 West Virginia going on the road to Rocky Top and beat Tennessee 40 to 14 with Will Greer. Texas went to Maryland. They played at Maryland. We also closed it out with Joe Burrow and LSU, 25th in the country at the time hosting number eight Miami. Virginia Tech was at Florida State. They were both ranked at the time. That is a Saturday slate. Yeah. And look for whatever reason. I do think they're terrified because I thought even like a couple of years ago, might even been last year, I thought the week one schedule was all right. Now this year, it seemed like it seems like they're learning the administrators. These coaches are saying, wait a second, our roster is not intact. We just showed up August, first or whatever. We need a gamer to and also obviously SEC moves to a nine game conference schedule.

Some of that, you know, ACC, some of the teams are doing that. I think that I think you've pinpointed something there that I like, they need a schedule better. And I, especially, and if you're going to put USC and Rutgers in the same conference, which is just stupid, right? Because TV execs are running the sport at least force them to place them. I mean, I guess Rutgers lost. I mean, you get my point. Like give me some, some meat on the bone. It's almost like we need the committee to come out and say, we, we give you credit if you schedule tough and win, but we don't ding you if you schedule tough and lose. Like I think that has to be part of the conversation as well, because it's for the health of the sport, man, we, we need these monster matchups to open up the season because, look, you and I hate this, but the NFL is going to take over. And unless it's a super big game with big pedigree involved, it's like you don't get the casuals and that, that's a problem that college football faces. So you need the casuals to care about these big matchups.

Yeah. Yeah. 100%. You would just think like Fox, say they, you know, they, they own the big 10 or, you know, they could just call and say, hey, Penn State, I saw your schedule. Now put someone on the noncon or we're not going to put you on TV for a year. You know what I mean? Or put us on main Fox for a year, whatever. Like, you know, like go schedule somebody in the noncon. Like, like, there's other schools that are scheduled in pathetic too. You guys can make this work. There's 138 damn teams. You know what I mean? Like, um, yeah. I, I, I, maybe this is the reason why the 2014 playoff could be good. I mean, I don't really, I'm actually, I'd prefer more playoff football. I think it's super exciting. Me too. Or the same. I'm not against so many people are like, why do we need to, first of all, there are people saying when there was two teams in the BCS, why would we ever expand? I don't know the make sure we got it right. And then we get to four and it was like, it was very evident that every year we chose four, there was probably eight. And now that we're, we're, we're at the number we're at, I think 24, you get more Mulligans.

So you can get more of these matchups. And in fact, I would say part of it is you should have to force these, these conferences. You have to schedule a big ACC needs to schedule one big 10 team every year. You got to find one and you have to have more cross pollination. That's what this sport needs. 100%. Hey, I love this already. I'm going to have a 14 playoff sign me up too. Like I look, I look at last year and like, this is what I mean is like the schedule discrepancies between, you know, so many different teams. And I like, I, during COVID, I did like a deep dive on this of like, how many times like I was state in Arkansas and like gets, they've had like three road games in a row in conference play, which is unheard of, but they've also get the back to back a ways. They never do that shit for Texas. They never do that shit. Like they rarely do it for the, you know, the big schools, not only Texas, just like the blue bloods, so to speak. So it's like, are you really getting the best teams? You know what I mean? Like, so I look at last year and like, obviously, Kudos to Indiana, no one beat them. They probably were the best team.

But I certainly think Notre Dame might have had something to say, but I certainly think Iowa, if they got another shot at Indiana, specifically because Grinowski got injured that game. And Iowa probably was the team that I thought, you know, I know they had the crazy escape against Penn State, but I kind of thought Iowa, you know, like, manned up against them pretty damn well. Mendoza kind of struggled that game before that, you know, breakthrough touchdown by Sarrat. So to me, and also like, you have these legendary stadiums. Put this shit on campus. Showcase what is college football, the stadiums, the fans, the passion, the pageantry. Everything that is great about college football. So you're, you're, you're, you're shortcoming it right now by throwing these things and like, oh, yeah, let's put this at, you know, whatever state farm stadium and fucking Phoenix. You know what I mean? Like, put this on campus. Showcase this. And I think it will continue to be a, you know, I think the sport will grow. Well, to your point real quickly, you mentioned the schedule, always benefits of taxes or in Ohio State. How come every controversial call behind the scenes when it's a small school versus a big

school? Like we saw with Western Michigan and Michigan that it goes in the big schools favor. Isn't it weird how like all of a sudden we start looking into the details and go hang on. It's actually incorrect here and someone pops in and we have to review that thing. Here's my take on it. I'm curious what you think because we mentioned the playoff committee and this is a Western Michigan team that won the Mac a year ago and they can win it again. And if they do, if they are there and there's a debate for them to be that group school to take the college football playoff spot, I believe this is the one time in the world. The human element is a positive thing because the humans in that room are going to view that as a Michigan win, not a loss for them on the road in Ann Arbor. And that's going to be better than almost anything any other group teams going to have on their resume this season. No, I think you're probably right. Assuming like Michigan ends up like they got to they got to have a decent season. But yeah, you know, I think you're right. And normally I think that's because I'm very anti the especially when you have like the

direct tie in like, oh, I got the Florida athletic director on the like, well, isn't that a little conflict of interest? You know what I mean? Like it's my kind of these are rice is on that way. The fuck is that? Yeah. What do we do? Yeah. Can we just get people who are willing to grind it out and pay attention every week? Dude, and then they do the my favorite was they start me and they got the notepads out watching the games and the react and the fine. If you don't go in and kind of know like if this happens, we're doing this. If this happens, we're doing this. Like you're not paying attention. I also like I remember her we Kirby, Kirby Ho cut the taxes tack 80 was in charge of it for the first few years. I was like, how is this not a conflict? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there's a better way to do this and not having big 10 officials, you know, do a big 10 game where they add a second, you know, that might that might help as well. All right. Look, we're going to get to some games because I got Dustin's best plays as some of his favorite plays for the week.

We're going to dive into that. I know I'm back later tonight at 11 p.m. with the bet detective and money line Mac talking every single game on the slate, but going to get to Dustin's top picks. Just give me a few of the games because I know you probably opinionated on like 90% of these games. So I did, I might have thrown one in there. I can't remember if you played that one or not, but just because it was so big. But let's start things off with you were just talking to Western Michigan, Michigan, Kyle Wittingham looks one step closer to retirement. Wasn't that the best when they interview him on the field? They interview him on the field and it was like, it was like, why don't I come back? I was retired. How about like the press conference after he's like, yeah, you know, when I looked there, I looked like we should have a second left. I'm like someone told you someone got to him before that. Well, someone said legally, you have to say this to defend us because if not, they'll look into kind of like Lane Kiffin, right? What happened with the SEC? He says, oh, they think how good we be with NFL players. Well now all of a sudden they get sued on the other side.

Be very careful with your words. Just say that it looked like we had a second left. He looks like he wants no part of being a coach right now. He might be one in done in Michigan. I love Kyle Wittingham. Truth be told, he kind of lost that fastball a little less zip on it, looking like Jamie Moore, Peyton, the black on the outside at Utah the last few seasons. I think maybe he's finding out the hard way. Hiding in Utah with the Mormons is a little bit different than being in the middle of Michigan where they think they're Harvard and Alabama at the same time. 100%. That's great. I mean, yeah, imagine if he actually like if they the reps were honest and they actually, and the big 10 was honest and they actually did what they should have done with sports and let the better team win. Especially with the clock, then dude, he would have not been going to the grocery store. No way. It's a little different. No one would have gotten, he would have gotten those urban myer headaches is what he would have gotten. All of a sudden he's like, you know, I got this health issue. I've got a step away from the sport.

There was so much that went down with that. And then after earlier today, Bryce Underwood didn't know that Wittingham came out, basically said like if he doesn't play better, it's not his job anymore. Bryce Underwood said, yeah, that's cool. I can't believe how little that kid's developed after a full year of starting as a true freshman. It's like the whole point of starting as a true freshman is to grow. He looks just as bad as day one. I think, well, how much do you chalk that up to him or the Sharon Moore just the whole drama? The more you hear about that, like they had coaches that weren't talking to each other for months. I mean, it just seemed so dysfunctional. This is college football. You know, you guys just went to national championship a couple years ago. He didn't have a quarterback coach. You have the resources of Michigan. You don't have a quarterback coach. Who made that decision? Why is that? How is that the spot we're cutting the budget on is quarterback coach? Michigan. I want three quarterback coaches. What are we talking about here? Yeah, it's like he's trying to, he's got some questions about this.

I discovered two or something and he's like, what, so what do I do with the high safety here and he's your own. Sorry. Give me a few minutes. I'm texting this bitch, right? But you know what I mean? Just run. We're going to run. We're going to run. We're going to run. Just do you, Bryce. Do you? But we're going to get in with a back shot. I mean, a back drive. We're going to hit him with a back drive. Shout out to it's Eric Singh. Michigan under 19 and a half team total points in this game is a lot. I'll start right there. Look, normally I would love the spot for Michigan, normally. But I actually believe Oklahoma might have the best defense of the country. So I think this is like, okay, we texted last week about SMU Florida state. And luckily I had two majors on that game, but I had one of them in it that did hit from June. But the other one that I did, I got the worst of that number.

I got three and a half. But I was terrified of that game because the line never moved after Florida state. Look very shaky. It gets New Mexico state. And I was like, I'm doomed. Of course, the cover still happened. This is another scenario where I can't think of anybody that's going to be on Michigan. So I'm very curious what you're doing here. And normally I would say that's one we have to take that, you know, enter the school. It doesn't have to be Michigan. But whatever when everyone else is elsewhere, you want to jump on. But there's nothing that I saw. I watched the game again yesterday. It was on. I was building slides for the show. If that if they were talking about that bad, they were getting pushed around by Western Michigan. Like, I just don't see how they're going to be able to score against Oklahoma. Like, what are you doing in this game? I'm very curious. And are we all suckers for taking Oklahoma? Okay. When this line first came out and I saw the total was 45.

I tried to open an app and I remember I bet in Vegas. So I basically bet in 1997 where things aren't available and the rest of the country has them available on multiple outs. So I had to wait for it to actually show up. By the time I got to it was 44 and a half. I couldn't wait to bet the under here. I mean, at most, this is like a 21 17 game, but I think I'm being very generous there with 21 17. I don't see how Michigan is moving the ball here. The one thing I would say is and Michigan's a pretty arrogant fan base. I don't know if Kyle Whittingham is arrogant enough to do this, but we see it with big programs. You just believe you're so much better than your opponent and you have a big game coming up. Classic sandwich spot. Is there a chance where they kept it so vanilla against Western and thought that they would just bully them that they were saving everything for this game in Oklahoma? I think there is a chance of that. If it gets back up to six and a half again and if we somehow ever touch seven on principle,

I'll bet Michigan and just go down with like this is just one of those sports betting Bible things like home dog, ugly loss catching seven at home, national stage, big game, everyone doubting them. I would consider it. But at five and a half, I'm not touching it. I love the under you go back and look. Vanibals is a favorite 20 and 15 to the under. He's 10 and five to the under in non conference. Whittingham, eight and four to the under as a home dog of seven or less. And he's 22 and 12 to the under after a win by six or less. So give me the under all day long with Michigan and Oklahoma. Oklahoma's defense is going to make it impossible for Michigan to move the football. And if the big house plays any role in this one, the sooner's won't be super efficient just driving up and down the field. So I think we're going to have a low scoring game here. Yeah, I mean, I mean, to its Eric's point, I'm trying to play this out in my head how Michigan could score 20 points. They would have to get a pick six, right? Like, yeah, the first strip sack. That's it. No, that's it. That's it. By the way, every time I'm on an under, there's a pick six that happens.

And I'm just over that's it. That just mutilated that under. Well, dude, that's what I'm saying. Like I almost think as I look, I'm with you on the under. I'm going to go with Oklahoma just because I just I know it's a sucker play, but I'm just like, I just don't see how Michigan's going to move the ball on that defense. And then I think the best bet on the board is probably what's Eric saying is, I can't see Michigan getting 20 points. They they they have to have turnovers. This might be a game where you go first quarter, first half, second half, undergrott. Yeah, just clear the board under under. And like I don't even know what the in game number would have to meet. The in game number would have to be like sub 35 early for me to even think it could get over. But even I don't know if we're getting to 35. There's a world where this is a 13 three game. Like this is 100% I would not be shocked at all. If that's it, like, I mean, Mattier has had his struggles against good defenses.

Now I do think Oklahoma's offensive line and receiving rooms a lot better than it was and they can run the ball. I think, well, we saw them play you tested. But yeah, I think they are better, right? That old line's better. The old line was the issue last year, but the positive thing that they have going for them is that they were young. They played together. They brought everyone back. And I think it's important like when you have a defensive mind and head coach in Vennables, I think he plays this very conservatively. This is their playoff spot. They win this game. They're essentially a playoff team, right? Going to Michigan and knocking off a big 10 school like this because not everyone's in the SEC is scheduling these types of games. So if I'm Brent Vennables, I am risk adverse. I am using Mattier's legs a lot. I am getting into the red zone and I'm just taking points every chance I can get it because I believe in my defense as well is going to hold them out of the end zone. That's what Oklahoma does. You get in the red zone. That thing shortens up. They make it a lot tougher to punch it in for seven. Yeah, 100%. I mean, Michigan, like, do you keep, do you keep underwood on like,

if he's, is there a shot we're going to see two quarterbacks this game? You think I think we might carve back. There's a second string that they raved about. I think underwood taps the helmet. I think underwood says I want no part of this anymore. He's going to give up a lot of money, but I mean, he was bad money spent. Do you see like what was my man, Malachi, who ended up at Boise? Nelson was at Malachi now. Yeah, he's at Syracuse now. He was at Utah last year. He was at USC. He's at the 20s. Like, there's a world where the idea of starting the true freshman, I know it sounds fun. The reality is true freshmen are not ready to start right away. They're just not, and they're not ready as sophomores either usually. You're going to be a bad football team, but you're going to grow and then hopefully you come back for the junior year and they go off. And the irony now is if they're that good and the junior year, they're going to go to the draft, they're going to go get paid by somebody else. I don't, I think this is like a cautious tale, cautionary tale of Bryce Underwood. I know he's super talented, but you give him the reins and you give him too much power

early. He's not going to learn how to grow. But then you have the other thing of like if Tommy, you really want Tommy cars first experience to be this. That is so much. There's a reason CJ Car went to Notre Dame and not Michigan. That is an impossible situation. Like, you're living up to your grandfather's name. That is so difficult to do, but he may have to do it because I don't know if Underwood wants the smoke from Vanibals. Yeah. But there we go. Dustin on, well, if it gets the seven, he's going to go on those Wolverines, but he loves the under. He likes the team total under with Michigan at 19 and a half as well. I will coast on all that. I can't, I can't take, I will not coast sign the seven in Michigan, even though I get, that's what we're supposed to do. Yeah. I'm just ignoring that. I'm not going to do about football or what we saw. Yeah. It's literally just home team, big 10 versus SEC, talented roster. But you know what, we have to also be fair about Michigan. They've gotten it wrong so many times. The only time they got it right was Harbaugh and he was stealing signs.

Okay. Like, the whole like Michigan man going back to Rich Rod and Brady Hoke and just like, it's never been the right fit, even though we love Kyle Whittingham. This just feels like, you know what, it maybe it's not the coach. Maybe it's just Michigan administration. Is that a Tim Allen commercial? Maybe it's not the coach. Maybe it's just Michigan. Raw, raw, raw. Right. Love, love Tim Allen. Great, great stories about selling cocaine back in the day. I also think you might have told Pamela Anderson to check out his dick at 1.2. But you know, that was the 90s. Yeah. We can't judge people for what was acceptable back then to what's acceptable now. Okay. You know, that was a pretty sure that was a normal thing. But game two, we have South Florida.

Had an a Mikey Stadium. I made the mistake Dustin of taking Bryant plus 37 and a half last week. Whoops. Army with a complete massacre at Mikey Stadium against the Bryant Bulldogs who had played a beat an FPS team last season and the year before should have beat an FPS team. So took another chin there, but Army look really good. Their rushing stats were incredible. The amount of people they spread the ball out to running the ball wise. I've been a record. Yeah. That was pretty phenomenal. If you haven't checked the check the box score folks, I highly recommend it. South Florida on the other side. I watched that entire game against FIU was not very impressed with Bryant Hartlein's bulls in game one. And I was, I mean, I did take, I didn't bet this, but I picked the points in FIU. They covered, but I'd say the bigger thing is Michael van Buren, I thought was a really good get for South Florida.

And he may end up being a very good get for them. But boy, I see, I feel like they've got some work to do that. Now I will say if you're a South Florida fan, you, if you're going to Mikey Stim, you want it to be in September. So there's that. The weather should be all right. But Army lay in three and a half. The over under at 46 and a half. What are you doing here in this American classic along the Hudson River? I laid the three with Army as soon as I saw it. There's a couple reasons. Well, also, I should point out, first ever college football games for me growing up. We're going to Army. I grew up about 35 minutes away from there. Used to throw shot put at the Army Field House in high school every week. On the banks of the Hudson River, it's one of the coolest college campuses you're ever going to go to. And right now they got a quarterback returning in Kate Helmson, who knows how to run this offense. And the biggest thing for me is when Brian Hartline took over South Florida, I think he was, I want to be a division one coach. I want to get a good job with a good recruiting base.

I want to be able to find receivers that I can turn to NFL dudes. I want to run off. And you know what I didn't think about that once a year, he was going to have to face the triple option in Army. He was going to have to face Navy and he was going to have to do all of that twice a year with two of these schools. And it's right. Rice does some exact stuff too. Yeah. So now he goes from a higher state when he's never thinking about the triple option, never factoring that in. And it's a new roster, right? The entire South Florida roster went to Auburn. And anytime you talk to these coaches and they talk about preparing for the triple option, you know what they say? It's assignment football. And these dudes aren't used to just assignment football. They like to let their athleticism take over. And if you get out of your lane because you don't trust the guy next to you to do their job, it opens up chances for Army to take advantage. So I think you have a well oiled machine on one side. You have a lot of transition early in the year on the other side. I think Army is just going to beat them death by a thousand paper cuts here. They're going to run up and down the field. You go back and look for Monkin. I couldn't find a lot of betting trends that fit why I wanted to back him.

This is more of a football play. But in conference play, this kind of speaks toward I was saying about heart line. He's 17 and 11 against the spreading conference. So when he plays these other American schools, when they have to play the other ones, they're going up and down the field and whatnot, they have to make a huge adjustment for Army. And that's not easy to do. So give me Army with a senior quarterback taken over the offense another year. They are going to cover the three against South Florida at home. Well, I look, I'm all over this one as well. This is one where I think you're seeing the rise of the service academies because guess what they don't have the transfer portal. So Navy almost made the playoffs last year. Army almost made the playoffs a year before. It's coming one of these years. It might be this year. It might be this year with Army, Navy or Air Force. That continuity is such an X factor, especially because all of these mid major teams, majority minus Western Michigan and Boise get rated, right? Maybe Memphis as well. But and the South Florida team is sitting there at Auburn, they just beat Baylor, right? So the whole team is gone.

Heartline does bring in some talent with his Ohio State connects, but I still think they're not there watching that film from the FIU game. They are certainly not there. Army, I think is a, I sprinkled them to win the American in the preseason. Love God's power. What's his last name? No, no, no. I forget it's, it's an African last name. It's, but it's that guy. Ray for trying. Your brave for trying. Anybody named God's power. Is it no why? Hey, I think it might be no why. Hey, maybe. Anyway, no one named God's power is, is, has got my vote. I'm all over Army. Love Monk in there. And hard line power by the way. It is God's power in the why. Yeah, there we go. There we go. Heartly, but you made a great point though with Heartline to me like playing at Ohio State. I think the only time they played a triple option was Navy. Navy almost beat him with Neymar Talola. They went for two in the win, right? So they he's probably had, I don't even think Heartline was there at the time.

So they haven't really played anybody. Triple option wise, I'm trying to think the last time they probably the last time they did play was what, 20 years ago or something, 18 years ago. So I, he's in the NFL before that, right? So it's like I just don't see how they're going to be ready for this all over the black nights here at Mikey Stadium. And any side on that total? Well, I would lean under just basically what we saw from South Florida. Also, Army's going to have these long sustained drives. They're going to use so much clock. I just, I just think it's going to be tough for South. Also, those kids in South Florida, they think they're going to some environment. They're going to find out the hard way. Like that is a very unique piece of the world. And it's not going to feel like a, it's, it's a different level of college atmosphere. And I think that crowd is going to just like overpower and subdue them in some way. Yeah. Yeah. I, yeah. I think Army's a player this year. Let's go.

And it's Eric saying we need a service academy in the playoffs. That would be the greatest. That's why I want 24 team. Can you imagine Mikey Stadium hosting a playoff game? Could you imagine like number one in the nation like out there having to like in the, with a trip to the championship game on the line because they just upset two teams. They, they're option their way. There's a final four. That would be the greatest thing to happen to the sport in a hundred years, dude. That would be, I mean, you know what happened? You'd have so many of these group of six schools going. We're running the triple option. It's still makes no sense to me, dude. Like it still makes no sense. It's, it's a, okay, we had Bud Foster on the show many times, but Bud Foster, we asked him like legendary Virginia Tech, the fifth quarter, we asked him like what we were assuming his answer would be the Miami hurricanes because he, they were in the big East same time when they had Edger and James and Andre Johnson. You know, those Miami teams were so fucking loaded. McGay, he, it's just like Vince Wolffork.

I was expecting that answer or maybe, you know, Rich Rodriguez is team with Pat Wides or, you know, like some of the other good teams they played in that era. And I was like, what is the, the team you, they gave you the most fits? He said Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech without question. He goes, that is the hardest thing to project. It is the hardest thing to, to work out the timing. He said the timing of everything, you can't mimic that in practice. So I, it's, I've said this forever, especially in the NIL era, you don't even need to pay your quarterback that much if you're running the triple because you can plug and play. You're also, your floor is higher because it, the hardest thing to do is find a quarterback you can win with. There are schools right now, one game in going, we gave money to a guy who can't get us to where we thought we were going to get there. When you run the triple option, because you're not throwing the ball, it's essentially a running back who makes a couple decisions, a game, having to throw it, but for the, for the most part, you're keeping it on the ground. And you can rotate so many different guys at the running back spots and the split end

spot. And you can play multiple quarterbacks here and spend more on your, on your offense line, a defensive line. Sorry. So, so yeah, no, you're good. So you don't need to worry about the quarterback situation. And guess what? Your quarterback also is never leaving to go to the NFL. And the pool of schools that might steal him are pretty small. So you have the advantage of getting a guy that's going to be a multi year starter. Think about Keenan Reynolds at the end at Navy. Like, dude, he was running that offense. Like, you're like, I think there's like NFL teams being like, I'm going to bring him Keenan Allen, Keenan Reynolds. And we're just going to run a wildcat with him because he'll be able to move the football. It's, it's literally mind numbing. I almost think like, I put my tinfoil hat on. I'm like, what, like the last teams that did it at the power five level, Georgia Tech went to two orange bowls, right, which would be playoff appearances this day and age under Paul Johnson. Tommy Frazier, even though it wasn't the flex and Nebraska, I mean, Nebraska went away from it because they teetered off a tiny bit when when Osborne retired, but they're still

winning like 11 games. Wouldn't Nebraska fans want that right now? It's mind numbing to me that more schools don't do it, but I am fascinated to see if it comes back because the service academies have played a lot better football competitively lately. But Rice doing their thing down there in Houston. We'll see if they can have success in year two of Scotty Abel. But yeah, all over the black nights here. Let's jump to the next one where the Alabama Crimson time, they did take, they did get the best of my East Carolina pirates. These pricks. But now they head the Commonwealth stadium take on this Kentucky wildcats. The Will Steiner has started off with the bang. They covered the number against Youngstown State. Sorry to John in the chat. Who's a Youngstown State guy? Bama is laying 10 and a half, the over under at 49 and a half as they're in Lexington. This is the bearbite bowl. And I think Kentucky's only beat him twice ever. What are you doing here, man? First of all, I was on Youngstown State, even though I'm on the Kentucky win total.

I thought they had a good chance to cover that one, but you know what? I love for Kentucky, the fact that they didn't play with their food and Kenny Minchie came out. Look, awesome. It makes it feel better about my win total over. I went over on Kentucky. That's something I wrote in the Veecent College football betting guide and get it Veecent.com slash guide. And look, I'm very high on Kentucky, but also you have to look at the other side. Keeling Russell's making his first ever road start. It's his second ever game. It's on the road in the SEC. And I think Will Steiner has them really hyped up. And Kentucky on the O-line stole legitimate starters from other schools like Tennessee who are coming in. They're built different this year. It's not just Minchie. They have weapons. They have guys on the outside. I think that Kentucky can absolutely hold their own here. And Will Steiner, if we're going to give him more credit, look what the Oregon offense looked like without him for one game against Boise State. They lost at the line of scrimmage. They were not as efficient early on.

It took them till the third quarter to really get into a flow offensively. I think a lot of that is the guy Will Steiner's calling the plays, calling the shots. He turned Dylan Freakin Gabriel into an NFL draft pick. He got Bo Nick selected in the first round. This guy is a genius. And there's a chance Kenny Minchie is the best guy he's worked with so far. Kenny Minchie, according to reports, was beating CJ Carr in practice every single week, but CJ Carr won that job. I'm not saying it was the wrong decision, but if Minchie is good enough to go head to head with CJ Carr, your high's been favorite. I think he's good enough to cover 10 and a half at home against Alabama. We are hookline here. So we might have disagreed on the Michigan side, but this one, to me, we just talked about freshman quarterbacks and Russell looked great last week. He really did. I thought like a skill set, I could see him really being like a high's been winning quarter goal down the road. But first ever road game, I do this with every arch. I do it with everybody.

I'll take my chances. Also, I think you're on a something. Also, the board is known for a lemon in September. I feel like, like, especially like it's a lemon against someone you don't think it's going to be, you know what I mean? So I'll give you this. I'll give you this. He's three and six against the spread as a road favorite at Alabama. One in three against the spread as a road favorite of seven and a half to 14. Four and eight covering off of a home win. That usually you're going on the road after a home win and he just and stack them together at Alabama as much as I love him. Yeah. Yeah. I'm all over the points. The chat seems to love the over 49 and a half. I think I might be with them on that. What do you think about that? Yeah. I don't know if I love the over because I think Kentucky is going to want to condense the game if they're going to win. It's like, it's like mid major basketball when we see it in the NCAA tournament. You want to slow it down. You don't want high percentage or high volume possessions in the game because going shot for shot with the team that's deeper than you is questionable.

Now, I would say this. I don't know how much deep Alabama is deeper. They have more upside, but Kentucky's portal class is kind of crazy. Like the Nick Anderson kid. I saw someone in the chat mentioned CJ Baxter from Texas who was an absolute stud and was supposed to be a starter there. Like, they've got some weapons to play with here. So yeah, I don't I don't know if I would touch the total. I just know that I love Kentucky at home. And if they win this one, I feel like I should be able to cast my Kentucky win total over at this point because it's a freebie. 100% on that one, man. We're both on the Wildcats here. Great play. I like this one. Let's jump to the next one here where the very golden nights of UCF are heading to they had the tarps out last week. You know, these pit Panthers as my co host, Monday line Mac, who's a dub V fan. He was enjoying that on Twitter. But Nardog covered for me. I bet pit and they stuck it to once again, a first time, a first time starter on the road with Miami Ohio there.

So pit now like seven and a half at home against Scott Frost at UCF. UCF look good, but it was both doing cooking. I don't know what to put on that, but I will say this is just the type of game Nardog would lose. What are you doing here? All right. So I haven't officially bet this one yet. I kind of like pit. I also kind of like the over. I think both teams are going to score. You got a lawns of Barnett, the quarterback from J.M.U. now at UCF and then pit mason Heinstall with seven touchdowns, week one. Their offensive coordinator, Kate Bell, second reference of the show won a national championship with his father as the head coach, Kerwin Bell at Valdosta State University. Oh, you're lucky. Not off the state. Let's go. I think pits trying to open this thing up, man. They got a quarterback they believe in. I actually like Eli Holstein when they had him, but the second they saw Heinstall, they're like Eli Holstein go away. It's like Wolf of Wall Street where he's dating the girl from how I met your mother and all of a sudden Marco Robby walks in. He's like, that's my wife now. That's kind of what makes an Heinstall showed up on campus.

So there's a reason they did that. They clearly want to run up the score. I couldn't find a lot of trends to back backing Narduzzi to your point. There's a few that make sense, but the over something I want to be a part of. He's 29 and 16 to the over as a home favorite on the other side. Scott Frost with UCF 6 and 4 to the over as a road dog. I think we're looking at a shootout in Pittsburgh. Yeah, I could see the over as well. I did see this is where I'm going to jump on UCF and all your points are valid. Like I thought the Kade Bell higher. I just caught on Sunday. I was at the Western Carolina Campbell game. Checking out Kerwin Bell, the head coach of Western Carolina. Let's go. Val Dosta, baby. 2018. Let's go. Let's go. But my thing is like, Narduzzi just historically, this is the type of game he would lose. Like you destroy it. You look great. We go on. It's always been a consistency thing. He's a good football coach.

He develops players at an unbelievable level. He has led it to a great piece on him last year. What's that? He's got a lot of attributes of Jeff Brahms and underdog. But he also has a lot of attributes of Brent Kee as a favorite. I want to back him as an underdog. I don't love him as a favorite all the time. Yeah. Yeah. I'm on the, I think right now, actually, I've seen the line at six and a half. But I think there's seven still out there. No, seven and a half still out there. Yeah, you're right. Yeah, I'm going to take the points just because I feel like Nardog can Nardog it. I think the over is a good play here. I could totally see with what year is Barnett, too? I feel like he's one of these super experienced quarterbacks. And then Hinesholt, they fire the laser all over the field with anything, anything Kerwin Baller, K-Bell, Kerwin Bell studied under Steve Sparrier. That shit's going to fly. They're going to score points. And what's Barnett's a fifth year senior? Yeah. What's that thing in today's world means he still has three years of eligibility?

Is it court rules in his favor? I'm sure they have a local judge in Pensacola or some shit that went to UCF. They could finagle that. But yes, so we see a little bit different there, but I mean, it's not like I feel amazing about this. It's just Nardog. Well, Nardog thinks sometimes. Next up, we jump over to the dupe blue levels heading to Champagne, Illinois. I misspelled Champagne there. That's nice. But the Align Eyre leg six, the over under a 51 and a half in a series that goes back to 58. They played last year. It was one of the strangest games that I've seen because I actually thought Duke was kind of moving the ball all over him, but not scoring points because they kept turning the ball over. But if you were to like just to watch, like if you were sitting at a bar and the score bug was out, you would assume Duke's up like two touchdowns. And then Illinois kind of took it to them.

The Align Eyre leg six, the over under 51 and a half. Duke didn't look amazing against Tulane with Walker. Eget. This one is one that I hesitated on. I'm curious what you're doing here, but like this seems like a lay up to me. Why is it like six? I know, but I watch Duke against Tulane because I had two lane plus nine and a half and Duke should have been just decimating Tulane. They can't move the ball consistently. Walker, Eget was not efficient against the Tulane defense that I don't think is all that special. Now, they're able to run Nate Shepherd at over 200 yards on the ground, but you're not going to do that against Illinois. You're not going to do that against this team. I am considering laying the six with Illinois. I think the under is the way to play. You got Manny Diaz, defensive miter head coach on the road out of conference. I think he knows he can't run up and down the field with Illinois. So he slows down this pace, looking at some of the trends for Bilema, who I love Brett Bilema because he's all about offensive line.

But he is 14 and five to the under in non-conference games. He's 22 and 12 to the under at home with Illinois. I am this an under game because I'm not sure their offense is going to be able to like pick up those chunk plays against Duke with Diaz as the defensive mind here. I lean under 51 and a half in this one and I kind of want to take Illinois minus six. Like that's the one I'm doing. Like I know it smells a little bit. I kind of would set this if it was me setting this line, I think like nine and a half would be away. I was shocked. Yeah. So that terrifies me. But I think I'm just going to say trust what I watched. The under does make sense though to me because Duke's offense looked terrible last week. I don't know if houses got the Align Eye offense where it like the against UAB. To me if this was to lose if the over was to hit it. How is it would in the Align Eye would have to have a big day. But I like to me my favorite play on the board is just the stinky lay the six with the Align Eye.

Let's go. Next up we have Cal Syracuse. This is one of my top plays as well. I'm very curious what you're doing here as the cues are lay in three and a half. This is probably the furthest trip mileage was in the country all year. The over under at 57 and a half in a series that goes back to 1967. Nothing says ACC like how in the arjman. What are you doing here does. Okay. So a few things to play here. One, I think what we saw in week one for Cal was Tosh Lupoi was the first time head coach. And there's a lot of elements of preparing for a season for a game that if you've never gone through before as the head man, they're new. So it was a lot of new for him, which means as a leader, there's a lot of new for the rest of everyone around you having to follow your guidance on the other side. You have Syracuse and Fran Brown who learned the hard way you got to have quarterbacks. Now he's got like a million on this roster, but more importantly, the right one is healthy. Steve Angelie is healthy.

I know it was New Hampshire, but he did what he had to do. They also have a Mari Odom, the former transfer from Kenisaw State. I believe. And Malik I Nelson. And now I'm not. I Nelson. So they're ready at quarterback. Fran Brown is better than Syracuse. It's a conversation people don't want to have because most people in our, in this industry, went to Syracuse and they don't want to lose him. Fran Brown is going to be at a big time program because he's an elite recruiter. He's a great motivator. And he knows how to win on the margins. He knows how big this game is. Cal has to go to the, I still call it the carrier dome. I don't know what it is right now, but the carrier dome is a weird place, man. Upstate New York, trust me as someone who grew up in New York. That is not Cal Berkeley. They are in for a culture shock. They are in for looking at the ceiling, wondering like, why is that the material they chose with to insulate us inside this building? It is going to look like a spaceship. And I think for Cal, they're going to go up against the Syracuse team. That is super talented. That is really deep and has a chip on their shoulder because how last year went up in flames

with all the injuries. I love Cal Lane. The three here. I love Fram Brown. I think you love Syracuse. Absolutely. I love Realview. I mean, yeah, I love Syracuse here. I love Fram Brown. And I think he knows this is a big one in conference play. Well, my son committed to Fram Brown already. So we talked about this. Really? I'm sure after we left the conversation, he told his assistants never have that guy talked to me again. But no, shout out to Fram Brown, man. I've interviewed a couple of times. Great guy. And this was one of the ones I highlighted. First off, anytime you're going 3,000 miles with the exception to starting the season, which is why I took Miami against Stanford. I love these. We're starting to get data on this. I feel like this is the they hadn't played enough, but I feel like we're starting to get enough data that it's like, this is you see it in the NFL. You see it?

Everything. NHL MLB. Going this far. We have our ramifications to this. Also, I think Fram Brown seems under the radar. When I interviewed him back in July at ECC media days, he was saying like this, I asked him, what is the best thing about this team like that you haven't had elsewhere at any of your years at Syracuse? And he said, this is the best offensive line of defensive line we've had at Syracuse. And and jelly when he was healthy last year, they were ballin' out. Right? So I'm with you. I think Syracuse is going to best them up, man. I'm laying the three and a half. I don't really have a side on the total. I guess I would take the over, but I don't really like it. Do you have anything on the total there? I think about the total, but I just really love Syracuse. And I think this one was one and a half and then Cal lost to UCLA and it jumped up to three. Yeah, yeah, I think you're right. I think you're right. Next up, let's go out to Denton, Texas. We're actually Neil Brown's boys with a little better than I thought they would.

The Rebels right there in your home city there heading out to Denton, Texas, take North Texas. I did play UNLV last week. It treated me well on the island. Now they're laying three and a half, the over under at 56 and a half. Curious what you got going here. And this is when we're on thinking about taking the home dog, man. I know North Texas is a new roster, but UNLV, they have not been that inspiring. I thought they should have smoked Hawaii way more and I was on UNLV on the road laying the points. Now they're going to go, you got a team with Neil Brown who's a pretty solid head coach for this level. I'm considering taking North Texas as a home dog just because UNLV has a lot of hype. Everyone's talking about them being a potential playoff team if they win the Mount West and all that stuff. But I think it's difficult to do the travel that they're about to do to go UNLV to Hawaii. That's about what five, six hour flight. They have to come back. Now they're going to Texas. They are still college kids. They're still a lot going on in their lives.

I just think that, you know, anything more than a field goal, I'd consider North Texas here. Yeah, you know, we talked about this last night on our show and saying like, North Texas is one that I bet the under on. I think I'm going to lose that bet for the season win total there. I think this judging by them against Indiana, I think they're going to be a bold team this year. They're going to be a fight man. They did not make it easy on the national champ. They were moving the ball on them. They squatted some opportunities, but they were moving the ball on them. Look, I'm still going to take UNLV just because I'm just wonder if North Texas can consistently, like was that just a home run we're playing the national champs and then we come home. But I don't love it as much as I thought I was going to love it. I'll tell you that. Yeah. Was that a month of prep trying to shock the world and upset Indiana and how it's a week of prep for UNLV? That could be the situation as well. But there's also like there's a trend that I was following for a while. I mean, I haven't followed it in the past couple of years.

But on back to back away games, I remember doing this deep dive in like 2017, 18 and 19 is like the second end of the back to back to way. You had like a 90% chance of losing the game or maybe not covering. Maybe it was not covering. But yeah, I'm still on the ribs though. We got some difference there. Anything on the total there? I think the over makes a lot of sense. Based on what we saw from the North Texas offense, they can score and Jackson Arnold playing, you know, at this level with these types of guys, I think he can make things happen. He's still going to be a what if Jackson, Jackson Arnold is just like, man, if it ever would have come together, this could have been a really special player. But it's pretty clear like he was a five star. He just never grew and developed. Yeah. Ryan Hastie saying Matthew Saluca went to he was with J.M. You as their backup last year. Let's jump to he probably I don't know. That's a good question. That's a good question.

This might be the most look everyone's talking and rightfully so everyone's talking, you know, Oklahoma, I'm sorry, Texas and Ohio State and then Oklahoma Michigan. This might be the most important game the whole day. Memphis and Charles Huff, he's got a half, he's got a puff. We cashed out him on the money line against you and LV. I went back to the well last week. It took four quarters, but we cashed against Arkansas State. Now they had out to the smurf turf to take on Boise State and I got to give it to Boise. I've never been a Maddox Manson guy, but I thought he played his ass off last week. I thought it was the best version of Maddox Manson I have seen at play college football. Boise State's laying seven and a half. I know there's a stat they've lost like 10 games on the smurf turf since like 1998 or some shit like that. That's the concerning thing here. But man, our Tigers have been darlings so far, Dustin. Are you going back to the well?

These colors don't run. I am all about Memphis. I've been all about Memphis all off season. I love the Tigers. A college football playoff spot is on the line this week. I have Memphis 13 to one to make the college football playoff because I thought they could beat you and LV and I thought they could go to the smurf turf and win. Charles Hoff don't play. I think he is going to be at a big time. So many of the ACC Florida State should be pushing out their head coach right now and doing the leg move. He even clumps. For Charles. You know what, him and Clemson is such a good fit. Oh my God. This man is brilliant. Every time he speaks, he's so rational and normal but motivating at the same time. And I think this is a spot where they have more athletes than Boise is usually getting from a group school coming to their building. I go, went back and look, Danielson's numbers are crazy. 11 and 3 against the spread is a home favorite. He's a 9 and 2 against the spread in the first half of the season and he's 3 and 0 against

spread off of a road loss. Here's a problem. I'm not sure he's getting the caliber or quality of opponent like Memphis coming to town. That's why he's able to cover consistently. You also add, is this not a huge letdown spot? They thought they were beating a working. They were there in Eugene with a lead and they're like, we've got on where we want them. And then the duct came back in one. To me, you spent so much time thinking about upsetting Oregon. I wonder if you just even subconsciously, you're just not quite on the gas as much for this one. Even though there's a lot on the line, I and Memphis takes care of business. I took 9 and a half when it came out. I can't, it's 7 and a half. That's crazy that it came down. Charles Hoffman is career 9 and 5 against the spread as a road dog. He's 13 and 7 against the spread in September. 9 and 3 against the spread. Two weeks the season and 15 and 10 against the spread in nonconference. Give me, give me Marguerre Marcus Stokes from West Florida. He's a baller. Make it go with his leg. And that defense is going to get after it. I would lean under in this one, actually.

I think the defense is show up here. I cannot wait to watch this game. I'm with you on Memphis to make the playoffs, but I don't know, man. The smell of like, boys, you look way better. I look, I took, I took the, I think I, I think I, I think I, I think I'm, I think I took the under. I didn't bet it, but I'm saying like we did every, every team on our show. I was super impressed, boysy last week. I was like, well, maybe I'm not crediting them, you know, as much as I should have been. But Memphis has been out of darling, but at the same time, it's a smurf turf, man. I like, I almost feel like it's a bridge too far. I think I would actually lay with boysy, but this is, I think the most interesting game, the entire weekend. Okay. And I agree. And I would say this, the best bet on the board, probably for me would be that under 55 and a half. So we'll agree on that. Let's go. That game's going to be awesome. Memphis's defensive line has been awesome.

I'm curious how, but, but Oregon's D-Line was supposed to be nasty. Boise weathered that storm. So yeah, that Oregon D-Line supposed to be literally four NFL players and Boise won that bat. Yeah. I think I got to take Boise on the smurf turf just because they've done it for so long. But you're getting more than a touchdown. I kind of think it's going to be a close game, but I don't know, man. Weird things happen on that smurf turf. Let's get to the, we only got a couple more games that we'll get you out of here. He's talking, he wanted to know. Shout out to money line Max say, what's up, sweetle sin. Let's go. Tennessee Georgia Tech, first off, shout out to Brent Key for making fun of his team at the press. He was like, Josh Hyple said, we have a good physical team. He's like, he must not watch the game week. Tennessee's late. 12 and a half. Let me see if this moved it off because I made this this morning. 12 and a half, the over under at 55 and a half. This is one, this is like the Michigan game. I didn't have the courage to take Michigan. Well, I'm taking the jackets to at least respond and stay within this number. I don't know that I don't think they'll win the game now. I was thinking in the preseason, they would win this game, but Mendoza didn't look incredible. But I will take the 12 and a half. Brent Key's gonna have this team motivated. As a dog historically, like you mentioned earlier, Brent Key, I think, is, is, that's,

that's where his wheelhouse is old school SEC matchup goes back to 1902 Dustin. You hit me up with this one. What do you love about this game? Both have the courage that Mike Pence did not on that day in January. We are taking the dog and Georgia Tech here. I look, let's start with Tennessee. It is a freshman quarterback making his first ever road star. Circle that. That is just on principle. You combine it with the other principle is that if Brent Key's a dog and especially at home, I want a piece of it. Hype I should note five and one against the spread against the ACC at Tennessee and Brent Key though as a dog. That's what it comes down to man. We're looking at Brent Key four and two covering against the SEC, two and O against the spread as a home dog of seven and a half to 14. More importantly, overall as an underdog. He's 17 and seven against the spread. I am all about a home dog often ugly loss.

I think they condensed the game. They rely on the running backs. They rely on that offensive line. That's the bread and butter here. They play their game. It may not be pretty, but I think we get here. Let's go. I am we're hook line sinker here. 12 and a half. Bob and dad and an old SEC matchup. We're going to lock up this jacket play and hit me with that Brent key fire 17 and seven. This was back. We had the bar right now. Next up we have Texas tech Oregon state there in Corvallis. Rees are stadium. Man, lost in a crazy week one was Abel and Christian Texas tech. Was not super impressed with Texas tech on the other hand. I thought to mark a shepherd. I think he's got the beef's plan way ahead of schedule.

Servers goes back to 1959. Obviously Cody Campbell's got that blood money, but 26 and a half over under it 53 and a half. Dustin, what are you doing here? I haven't officially bet this one, but I am strongly considering the beef's here. I had the under and Houston and Oregon state because that anything Oregon state was coming to play. I also thought all preseason long that Oregon state was going to start Malik Murphy and they made the right decision. Braden Atkinson, the transfer from Mercer. He can ball, man. He was not scared of pressure. He made a ton of big plays and that freshman they have it receiver from Baltimore. Jesse LaGrie. He is about to get paid in the portal next year. Oh, and all the way to Baltimore. He's not even. Jamarcus, dude, he can coach. He can coach. I was afraid to go. Now here's a problem I have. I don't know if you've done this on Twitter, but don't say bad things about Texas tech because my mentions I had to mute a conversation. If you say anything negative about them, they just gang up on you and they're not nice

people. You would think like they think that we're out to get them. They think everyone's scared of them. It's not that it's that this joy McGuire keeps opening his mouth. If he doesn't open his mouth, they're irrelevant in the national picture. I don't care what anyone says. They are completely the best thing that ever happened to Texas tech football aside from Mike Leach showing up and gracing them with his presence is that the other schools left the big 12. So they are by proxy. They get to be the lead dog out of the state of Texas. I can't stand their fan base right now. Their town smells like manure. There's no reason to ever go there. And the desperation reeks worse than love it because when you bring in Tommy Castellanos, you're telling me that you are scared will Hammond is not ready physically or mentally to be the guy to take you to the promised land. We're all acting like, oh, Brendan so is he's gone. They have a good backup plan. Sure, there's a ceiling to it. I haven't bet it yet, but I'm strongly considering Oregon state because I think they have a coach who's on the rise.

A quarterback who's going to be ready. And I think they can hang within a big fat number. Yeah, I think the over is appealing a little bit here. So money line Mac, we should have had him on the show here because he has been at war with Twitter with Texas Tech faith. I'm in good look. I just said, keep throwing the tortillas and all of a sudden they've made me like they want to invite me to fucking love it. Have a good time. But Mac has been on those same battlefields that you've been on. And you are right though, the Castellanos thing, the Hammond thing, they did not look great last week. I definitely look, I'm just worried where they play in hooky against Evelyne. Maybe that's that's that's very, very possible. I totally get that. It's more about believing in Oregon state and also, let's also be fair to the Texas Tech defense. I don't understand. They lost David Bailey and Jacob Rodriguez and we're just assuming they're going to be fine. Yeah, yeah, that's a great point.

And that's why I mean, dude, I actually like the over 53 and a half here. I think that should be bet. But if taking a side here, I haven't bet this based on what I saw last week, I would say you have to take Oregon state. I am worried that Texas Tech might have just been playing hooky, but we'll see because if you're going to play hooky against Abelene Christian, Abelene based on Oregon state last year. Abelene might have beaten them if they played Sam Houston did beat Oregon state. So yeah, there's that. Okay, two more left. Then we have the game that obviously the teams he gave me the week, but it's a banger. Ohio State, Texas, Texas, one and a half, the over under it, 48 and a half has this line. I've seen 49 and a half now for the total. I bet this a few weeks back. I'm going to say my name is July, but I'm curious where you're going. So I'm going to let you lead off here.

Okay, I want to be clear. I am not a Steve Sarkeesian guy. I think he stakes, but I think this roster is so good that even he might not be able to screw this one up this year, unless there's just a really big moment. Last year, this score was 14 seven, but there's a lot of differences. I think quarterbacks are better, although I do. I temper my expectations on arch. I think context matters against the worst teams. He was great against the best teams. He was not last year, but he's definitely better than he was week one a season ago. Ohio State still has say in they still have the best wide receiver in the country in Smith and they have a bunch of other young dudes and in this and Chris Henry Jr. I love the offenses for both teams. And I think the Texas defense is the better defense between these two teams. I am considering Texas, but I think the play I like better is give me the over. There's no more R. Vellries. There's no more K. To McDonald's Caleb Downs sunny styles. I think that Patricia is going to start to get exposed for what he was in the NFL. I use not that special of a coordinator or defensive mind.

I think both teams move the ball. I think there's going to be a shoot out into the fourth quarter. And I think Texas has the ponies ready to run this race. So they're at home. I think we get explosive plays. I like the over 48 and a half right now. Interesting. I have not bet on that side. I'm on the buck eyes though. Sarc's record against the top 15 is absolutely terrible. I'm trying to remember it off the top of my head here. But to me, the real thing that I think just arch, did you watch that Texas take him? Yes I did because I had the over and it took a while to get there because Texas take kept messing it up. I wasn't like blown away by arch. You know, I mean, I get it. The supporting cast is incredible. But like, I still wonder against good defenses. Is he any good? Like, can he go to that next level? He's got to prove it to me. By the way, Sarc, sitting at 5 and 18 all time.

5 and 18 all time. But like that's 5 and 18 where he's always had resources. Yes. Yes. I remember Washington for a little bit. It's not like he was 5 and 18 and he was at the little engine that could. Yeah. Now, I get it. There's kind of parallels here with the Harbour quote, Ryan Day was born on third base. But I trust Ohio State a little bit more than I trust Texas. So I bet Ohio State, you might have me on that total though. I might have to jump on that total. But I just think to me, Arch has to prove it. That's my thing. Arch has to prove it. I agree with you. I think he's highly overrated. I'm not an arch guy. If you go back and look at the games last year, it's nobody impressive. Did he want to overtime against Kentucky and Mississippi State? We're giving him credit for that. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. The passing number is defensively.

I mean, I have them listed right here. It's banning by the way. His best games last season, right? If you look statistically, his best five games, San Jose State 115th ranked past defense. Sam Houston State, 133rd. This is his best performance. Mississippi State, 78th. And they were getting their ass hope that game, right? 118th against Vanderbilt. That's their past defense. 118th. Arkansas, 104th. Those are his five best games, right? Against Oklahoma, threw for a buck 66. Against the buck guys, you threw for a buck 70. And some of that was, you know, once they're down to scores against A&M 179 against Kentucky 132. He's got to prove it to me against a good defense. And I think you're going to need to throw for two more than 200 yards to win this game. So give me the buck guys. I did pick them to win the nadi. So it starts here. All right, it starts here, Bucknuts. Final game on the slate. Arkansas, traveling out the Salt Lake City to take on the Yutts. Now I saw that this line has come down here.

I'm seeing 12 and a half. I think at shop around, I want to say there was an 11 and a half last night. I had 11 and a half on Saturday night Sunday. So yeah, if you can get 11 and a half, I love that. Yeah. 12, I'm seeing 12 and a half right now out there. But the over under by the way, sitting at 55 and a half. So that's come down to point. Arkansas, Utah for the first time ever. This is to me the easiest one. I'm curious if we're on the same page here. But you tell it all day long. All day here, man. I am on Arkansas under the wind total. Me too. I don't know if anyone did less with more than Ryan Silverfield did at Memphis the last few years. It is such a great recruiting spot. And he had nothing. He doesn't do anything special. He inherited a program from Mike Norvell where they were a good program.

And he stinks. The fact that they struggled with North Alabama. Who's who's not even been in the FCS that long. Ready? Third mention. North Alabama was Valdosta states biggest rival in the Gulf South Conference. I have been to Florence, Alabama five times in my life. Mutzles, Sholes, Leonard Skinner recorded their albums in that area. I have been to you. I watched AJ Millway operate that offense. Fun fact to Lanehead coach Will Hall on the Harlan Hill trophy, which is the Heisman of D2 playing quarterback for North Alabama. But North Alabama thinks North Alabama was in that game. And Arkansas was doing nothing to pull away on Saturday. Utah with their literal grown men. There are guys with mortgages and life insurance playing for Utah on the offensive line. They're going to bully Arkansas on this one. Any factor in damn peer back with a vengeance just trying to run it up on everyone. Utah by 11 and a half, 12 and a half.

I'd probably consider the 13 and a half minutes out there as well. Yeah, I'm serious. I'm on the same page here. This is just I thought Arkansas. You know when a team takes a sitting group of five coach and the fans rejoice. The fans of the group of five team. It might be on to something here. You lay it with Utah. I think they're going to destroy them. I think it's going to be. We even had some Arkansas fans give us at circle last week. They were coming up and they're saying, you know, we're live against Utah. We're like, yeah, right. The hell out of here. They saw a crammer wearing the Utah shirt. So yeah, let's go all over the youth. Look, I'm going to before we get you out of here, man. You know, Valdosta states traveling to a Fitville state in Fitville, North Carolina. Saturday at six o'clock PM Eastern time. You like your guys chances? I like their chances against everyone everywhere.

Anytime a day, any stadium, it doesn't matter. The Blazers will always come out on top. It is the best football town in America as two top tier high school programs in Lounds and Valdosta high, Valdosta high as the winningest program in the history of United States high school football. They could lose for a hundred years and still be over 500. The Valdosta tape Blazers have taken that mantle as well. Give me Valdosta state by a million this week. Let's go and look somewhere in heaven. Our friend Mike Leach is glad that I had you on the show as a Valdosta guy. Right. I know he would be I know he would be jumping to jump on the show. If I told him that you were a that I had a grad on the show, uh, rest of the piece is always to coach Leach and folks do not forget tune in every single five nights a week or what is that for what Sunday through. Yes. One day for Thursday and then Saturday I do the the early show.

Yeah, Dustin's the fucking man. And he's very knowledgeable.

And he went to Valdosta State. That right there. You know, I love the Dustin. Like we were talking, uh, hardening football there in Arkansas last night. We go deep. I go deep. I covered harding when they're quarterback who was in all American got kicked off of the team because the religious school, he got locked out of his, his dorm. And he had to sleep on a girl's couch and that went against the code of conduct at harding. And they had to kick in all American off the team because of that. Damn. They're like, BYU, Jr. They might be worse. Beautiful campus though. Yeah, I did have religious money. I did have Jim McMahon on the show a couple times. Shout out to Jim McMahon. And I asked him about that policy when he was at BYU. He said they did not care about. He said he did not care also about breaking those rules, but he said, so I mean, maybe they just weren't doing their due diligence on old Jim McMahon, but, uh, maybe the fact

that the guy that they chose last year, Jake Wetzlaff was not one of them that it was highlighted a little bit. That's a might. You might say that's my ego in there. I can say that. It's my ego. He is Dustin, Dustin, sweet old Sid Man. Once again, congrats on the engagement man and look, looking forward to it. I'll be on his show tomorrow night. All right. So folks, tune in. Caching out every single Thursday night. I'm on the show. So yeah, let's go. And I appreciate it. As always, brother, you are welcome back here anytime.
