Comey Indicted for Trump Threat Post

On April 30th, the Department of Justice hit former FBI director James Comey with a second

indictment on Tuesday, April 28th, this time, accusing him of threatening President Donald Trump's life.

A grand jury in North Carolina issued the charges, complete with an arrest warrant, tied to a social

media post he made last year. That post showed seashells on a beach spelling out 8647,

which folks interpreted as code 86, meaning to get rid of someone, paired with 47 for Trump's

second term as the 47th president. Comey deleted it quick after the backlash hit.

Trump's team jumped on it hard, calling the post a straight-up call for assassination.

Current FBI director Cash Betel backed that up at a press conference,

slamming it as a public disgrace that put the president's safety at risk.

This marks another legal move against Comey's circle, following his first federal indictment

last September in Virginia for lying and obstructing. During a 2020 congressional hearing,

on the same day as this news, Comey's daughter Maureen scored a court win to sue the government

over her firing as a manhand prosecutor last year. Prosecutors now push forward with this case,
