2:008 o'clock. And we are going to be talking about the potential starting 11, the deficiencies that Liverpool currently have right back and what that means going forward. Let's get into it then. Let's get into the match coming up. Liverpool take on Ipswich at Ipswich Grant. The name is Escape Me, put them road. And yeah, there's a big discussion point coming on at the moment about Liverpool's right back situation. Now this is a predicament that we've known for months. Since before, kind of, about these injury against Arsenal. We have known there is a big issue

3:03in our backline, predominantly focused on the right back situation. Left back isn't perfect, but Kirk has shown glimpses of the player he can become. I think he's still solid and attacking. I think he's still decent defensively. He's very reactionary. He's very rash and he does come out of position from time. But there's a player there who can be coached. And I think if I all are given the track record, he has of coaching Kirk as a Bournemouth can bring out the best in him. But what about Jeremy Frimpong? Who too much is in, has not impressed in either of them. New Castle, he was very stunted. Looked a bit too forward thinking against the new Castle team who caught us out with long diagonal through balls. Balls over the top, always out of position, massively felt for New Castle's second goal along with a lot of other players. Yes, but offered nothing in defensive support there against Forest when we did have a lot of the ball, particularly in the first half, rather than giving them going and trying to beat the last man and trying to put himself into dangerous areas. He would give the ball stop. He was stationary. He wasn't progressing

4:07play. He wasn't building up play properly. It felt as though there was a disconnect of what he should be doing. And ultimately, he was replaced as the match went on in favour of Dominic Zoboslye, who knew Vice Captain, one of the Vice Captain team along with Joe Gomez and Alison. Dominic Zoboslye is someone who last season was imperative to Armidfield. And the frustration of seeing him at right back started to rise because of what he was contributing last campaign. Obviously, in all competitions last season, he reges of 13 goals and 12 assists, six goals on the Premier League, seven assists in the Premier League, vital big moments against Arsenal, against City, against United. He was consistent in the middle of the pitch and he was getting forced to right back because there was no options. Either Bradley was injured or Frimpong was injured or the form of Frimpong was a major concern. And I think this stat here really does exemplify just how decent of a job he's done at right back when he has been put there. So Dominic Zoboslye has the highest average rating

5:07at right back of any Premier League player to make eight plus appearances in the position since the start of last season, averaging 7.27. That's 10, 0.10 more above Reese James. That 0.19 above Jury in Timber. Mateus Nunez only has 7.07, so 0.2 higher than him. Ben White has 7.03. Now, Mateus Nunez made shift, of course, coming from midfield to right back. Ben White sent a back shift down to right back. Jury in Timber, no complaints there from me. And Reese James, one of the best right backs in the league, Dominic Zoboslye ranks above him now. I do think the diss stat, while it seems good on paper, a lot of this will be factored into the fact of the game where he played Arsenal at right back is the game where he also scored the free kick. You go through the appearances and the matches where he has played right back in the Premier League, the one against Arsenal, but only we kept the clean sheath. Not nottingham Forest, that was a bad one. New Castle, we won 4-1, picked up a goal against Mancetti in the 2-1 defeat when he was at right back,

6:11picked up a goal against Tottenham when he was playing as a right back. So I do think the goal scoring has maybe swayed this ever so slightly, but statistically, Dominic Zoboslye is a decent defender. In the Forest game, in the short time he was at right back, he levelled or beat Jeremy Frim Pong in all defensive and attacking metrics. He was more productive in an attacking sense, felt as though he had much more control of the ball, put it into dangerous areas, wanted to progress play defensively, he looked solid, he positions himself well, and I think with the pressing that Dominic Zoboslye has, the ability does have to force mistakes out of the opposition. Having him at right back does seem like a benefit in that regard. It is the defensive frailty. The issue is Ipswich have the tar who can switch either wing, but he could target the right back spot. Whether it's Frempongles, Sivosly, there's going to be a real struggle there against this Ipswich team who in the first few matches, Emerson, Palacios,

8:19they've looked really, really duvenated full of energy. They look completely different to the team that went down two seasons ago. So this is not going to be an easy match for us. In the last three results between Liverpool and Ipswich, Liverpool have won all three scored 11 goals considered just one. So positive history there, but these are the matches where notoriously Liverpool can and have slipped up in the past. So I do think Dominic Sobosly will start at right back today. I think that it I always comments regarding Dominic Sobosly yesterday really do set the tone and tempo of someone who he knows it makeshift, but he knows that needs must. So this is what he was saying yesterday regarding Dominic Sobosly at right back when he was asked about it. So someone asked him, will Sobosly at right back? And here I all have said, I haven't found any situation where a player has told me, no, I don't want to play here. So I do think it's a matter of he's hinting that Frimpong will be dropped and rightfully so I think going into this match, he hasn't

9:24looked convincing in any way. Sobosly I can drift in, help overload the midfield, can contribute in an attacking sense, can drop to fallback, put out ease and out ball. For me, it makes perfect sense. And I do think that this Ipswich game is going to be a real test of character. As I all of those mentioned here in the, well going back to yesterday once again, he says, and Dominic Sobosly it talks Ipswich, Ipswich are a team in terms of they won their first game at home, even the other day the first half, they were the better team until United got the 2-1 win, got to 1-sorry from Haru Maguire's, you know, a legal handball. And the game went open, we have to be ready, give our best. They were the better team in that first half against United. And the game against Sunderland, they've really caught Sunderland out at home. So this is not one to take lightly and the right back situation does give cause for concern. But as I said before, if we're talking about the games where Sobosly has played it right back. So going across all competitions for the midfield, the term makeshift fallback. These are the games where he did feature last season.

10:29So in the Champions League, he played right back against Gartass right in the early 1-0 defeat, played the full 90 minutes, didn't do it again in the Champions League. Second game of the season against Newcastle played at right back. The game against Arsenal where he picked up the goal from the Wunder free kick, then plays there against Bernley, so free games in a row, a clean sheet, a clean sheet, a goal, will be contributing to his ratings across the match. Then goes back into midfield for a bit, back at right back in the Nottingham Forest free nil defeat, then he sticks to the right wing quite a lot. He got passed around all over the pitch last season. In the 4-1 win against Newcastle back on the 31st of January, he then plays there against City, scores the free kick, we get beat 2-1 and he does get sent off as well. So maybe balances it out quite a bit. Plays right back against Forest in the 1-0 win, he then goes there in the 1-0 draw against Tottenham in March, which again is right back. Picks up a goal, plays there against Wolves in the FA Cup in the round of 16, puts in a good performance and he doesn't play there again in any portion of

11:30the match because he was not involved in the EFL Cup. So he has a track record of not only doing it, but doing it against Totte level team City, Tottenham were in their arsonals and other one, Newcastle's decent. So the experience levels there and it is something that will bowed well for us, I think going forward and statistically, Jeremy Frimpong, this is the big issue with him. We've brought him in because we were led to believe that he has the energy and intensity to play a Liverpool system. In terms of his overall top speed, 74 kilometres an hour, it's not slow, but that there is distance covered in the bottom 17% of Premier League fullbacks and that's the problem with Frimpong. He possesses this light and quick pace, he possesses the ability to go past the man, he's got great recovery pace, he has a very direct nature about him, but he doesn't cover enough ground, he doesn't allow himself to do it. And when he does, it's very few and far between and that's the main reason why we wanted him. The sprinting metric 451 metres is in

12:32the top 8%, yes, but it's still not enough in terms of like the number of sprints he does there, but he's the short bursts, distance covered in titles like per average per game. I expect Frimpong to be covering more for the skill set, he has the marauding fullback, he should be up and down, up and down, nonstop. So I'm not going to do that, but he can pick a pass from deep, and I think that's a better skill set for us to use at the moment, as opposed to Frimpong, who when he does get into those dangerous areas of the pitch, he's pretty poor, only 1.12 accurate long balls per 90 minutes, creates 2.24 chances, but it's because the crosses just go back across the box and they tend to go to no one, it will be in on us, 0.56 successful crosses per 90 minutes, only in the top 58th percentile, the M product is not good enough, and I do think that it will be Dominic Stoppers live playing it right back to date against Ipswich, and that is a decision that I am not mad with, I'm happy to see that in this game. Also then, so Andonia, I also

13:34spoke about, yes, they talked about fitness concerns, injuries, he says that Joe Gomez is on his way back, he'll probably start training with us next week, I hope we can have him before the break, and he touched on Giovanni Leone saying that next one is Leone, he could be training during the international break, which is in a few weeks, with the group Conor and especially Hugo, we will be waiting for longer, so there's no sign of Ekiti Keo Bradley, even getting close to the first team training in just yet, but Leone Gomez, both seemingly on their way back and close to full recovery, which is great to see, but there is still a little bit of work. Now switching to the overfallback position, switching to left back, which was a topic of hot debate on the overlap, particularly from Jamie Carriga. And this is one that I do think is a little bit harsh, I think because both fullbacks get lumped together, you know, they both came in in the same window, both similar in terms of their front foot of the approach, and they are certainly aggressive enough to be good fullbacks.

14:37I think they get grouped together quite a lot, which is a shame to see because I think with Kirk, there has been indications that he can reach a good level, a sustainable level for Liverpool, and just going to start up so we can compare between him and Fremont. So this is what Carriga said, yesterday. Their understanding of the game is really, really poor, you're watching the game and thinking, why has he done that? I described Kirk as last season, and it was his first mini season, maybe it was a bit harsh at the time, he's the Darwin, New Year's, a fullbacks. It's just like head down and run, everything Kirk has does is a hundred miles an hour. They've brought in Kirk has for 40 million, he's had his first season, it wasn't amazing, but right you go, okay, Eryal as Cums comes in, he knows him, he's still a life back, Andrew Robinson moved on, and we had another life back on loan, so we're probably not going to spend another 40 million on another, he's our let's back, let's back, let him have another year. I agree with the end sentiment, he needs time Kirk has. And like I said before, I do not think in any way he has been dreadful, I don't

15:38think he's been brilliant by any means, but it comparison to Fremont, I think it's night and day the difference in terms of we're talking about the accurate long balls and the chances created, Jeremy Fremont averages in terms of chances created, 2.24, which is higher than Kirk has, Kirk has on average is building 1.12, so there is a distinct difference there, but in terms of line breaking passes, Jeremy Fremont is 9.5 per 90 minutes, Milos Kirk has is 11.18, we touched on Fremont's long ball, accuracy 1.12, Kirk has is averaging 2.8, which is on the top 8% of Premier League backs, though so far this season, Jules one, he's winning 5.03, by comparison, Jeremy Fremont 2.8, there is such a golf in quality there, and in defensive contributions, Jeremy Fremont ranks in the bottom 12% of Premier League fullbacks with 4.47 defensive contributions, Milos Kirk has 8.39

The discrepancies massive and I think that because they've both come in at the same time, because Kirk has been Fremont were both being tasked with replacing Robo and Salah and bringing in this new era of fullbacks for Liverpool. They are being grouped together somewhat and I think that's unfair on Kirk as who as I say has not been excellent. I thought he was pretty poor against Newcastle in some regards, but he tries. I think he positions himself well at point. There is moments where you look at him and just think just slow down a little bit, just keep your head, you don't need to be so rash, but he's trying and he's putting in the effort. Top speed 32.7 kilometers not that much slower than Jeremy Frimpong. Distance covered only 10.3 once again, sprint 515 meters, which compared to Jeremy Frimpong, who's averaging 541 meters, not too much of a discrepancy.

18:46So I don't know. I don't think left back is a position that we necessarily need to worry about as much as people are making out. We do forget as well. It does take time for players to challenge this team. I just think that this is a new manager coming in. And while we could easily say you just need to do with Kirk has already did a Bournemouth. This is an entirely different squad, it's an entirely different situation. You can't just go right do what we did there. It'll work guaranteed. I think he has to try different things and different avenues to try and bring up the best of Kirk as you have no alternative really. You know, Simi Cass is the back up and he's not good enough. So it's going to take time. He can't rush it. It's got to try and find a way to bring it out to him and I don't think he's looked awful in the first two games. I understand that the people will say well, you know, it's delivery is not great. It's not great by any means. But as I said before, his overall metrics are accurate

19:50long balls. His chances created. Successful crosses is a metric I do not have here probably because he's done that few. I just I see signs which I do not see on the right hand side. I do think Kirk has started against tips which of course, but I think stop a slide start at right back. Sticking on there, so we will continue with the Amfield index Twitter, which has also mentioned the Champions League group or the Champions League squad for Liverpool. So this was announced last night and it's been touched on a few times. But the Champions League announcement via James Piers, Federico Kiezer and Wattaru Endo have been left out of Liverpool's 25 man squad for this season's Champions League, this season's league phase of the Champions League. Under UA for rules, the 25 players named in this day has to include a minimum of eight locally trained squad members, youngsters such as Rio and Gumeua and Trainioli aren't amongst them as they can be named on Lisby given their age. 25 man squad for Liverpool, Alison, Mamadash really Woodman and Yaraxas are goalkeepers. Four goalkeepers is a big bold statement of how thin our squad is. Joe Gomez, who has not

20:57played yet for us apart from eight minutes against Sunderland in preseason, the first preseason game, by the way. Van Dyke, Jacques, E. Kirkers, Connor Bradley, who's not due back till about November, time supposedly. Leone still coming back from his ACL injury in September. Simi Kass, Frimpon, the Raoho Chambers, that's exciting to see. Mabaya, under 21, right back for Liverpool, promising for him, Vert, Sobsley, McAllister, Munoz, Gravenberg, James McConnell, that's a big call right there. Esa Gackpo, Eckertike, who's not back till Boxing Day and Bar Cola. By the time Esa Eckertike comes back, I expect us to be through this group with the last game or two being sort of write-offs. This isn't about topping the Champions League, although it would be great. It's about getting through it with as minimal injuries and fitness concerns as possible. And I think by the time Eckertike comes back, so let me just get the LFC fixture list up and we can talk about which games he is going to miss and then we will come back to this screen here.

22:01Where are we? There we go. LFC fixtures. So obviously we play Ipswich tonight, that is the big one for us at the moment. So he misses at Let's Coma Drid. He will miss Lask away from home, Ville Royale at home, Fenerbahce away in Turkey, that's a big one, Club Bruges away, he will miss that one, he will miss Porto at home, and then he's due back around Boxing Day. So the only Champions League games will be a part of potentially our Inter Milan away and Lons at home. They're the only two matches. By that point, we could be through Dunn and Dusted and it's a great way to him to build up fitness, but it's a big call including him in this squad. It's a good calling, it's a big call including the only which I get that one. It's a big call picking four goalkeepers yet not Federico Kiezer who had the chance to leave this summer chose not to. There was no inkling that the club were trying to force him out. He's taking up a non-homegrown quote of spot which is stressful.

23:05Yet he chose to stay and under a different manager in a new season, back-to-back seasons, he has been excluded from Liverpool's Champions League group stage. The Euro winner with Italy playing for Juventus Champions League experience not included in the squad yet. James McConnell is yet an injured Eckertike is and I'm not saying Eckertike shouldn't be involved by no means am I saying that, but it's a big call from Iriola not to include Federico Kiezer. With Toruendo, I kind of get in a more sense. He's just come back from injury, he's obviously in his mid-30s now. We'll not play at midfield at any point under Iriola and very confident about that. He's like a fifth choice centre-back. He was pretty poor against Monaco in pre-season, so I kind of get that. People are saying, well, sell him. Yes, I agree because of the non-homegrown spot, but you will get one or two million for Endo. He's an extra body, I know he's not grace, but he's still a player there. He also only has one year left on his contract. He's got back

24:07cult hero status. I don't mind keeping Endo around just until the season's end and rather than losing and Nova player without replacing him. I know he's not a big contributor to the first team, but he's a body you can put in there if injuries start to ramp up or you need to rotate or there's a dead rubber game and you just want everyone to rest and be fit. Endo falls into that bracket. And as a result, I can fully understand why keeping him makes sense. I understand why they've not included them in the Champions League squad. I just think four goalkeepers not taking Federico Kiezer is a big call, particularly when you're reliant that when Actique comes back, he's going to stay fully fit. Who is the rotation number nine with Alexander ESAG? It's going to be Far Kohler or GACPO or Munoz maybe a makeshift option. Kiezer is the same thing, but he has proven he can play as that number nine at times. So it's a big gamble. And as I say, these are the games that Actique will miss before his return in the Champions League. He misses that let's go at home. He misses

25:10Lascaway, Fenerbahce away, Villarreal at home, Club Bruz away, Porto at home, and then the two he's in line for Inter away and Lon's at home on the 27th of March and the 27th of July and the nine. Oh my god. Inter Milan away is the 19th of January. Lon's at home is the 27th of January and he's drew back around boxing day. And this is all just dependent on whether or not he can actually be fully fit from this injury. I think a lot of people are just expecting boxing day. He comes in, he's fit, he's ready to go. Doesn't necessarily mean that's the case. You know, it's going to take time for him to integrate his way back in. It's a new system, a more intense system. It's a long term injury. He suffered against PSG in April, I believe it was. So still a lot of work to do there. Let's not go too overboard. But yeah, let's go back then to that squad. Let's go back to that Champions League squad that was picked. I mean, I agree with all them. Yaros has a big call

26:16as I say. In my buyer, I'm excited to see if he gets any minutes. Maybe the sort of last game against Lon's. Maybe you get some game time. McConnell Chamber's good for them. Not too much I disagree with that. Obviously, we've just got Rio. We've still got Trainioli. Don't imagine McConnell or Chambers would get much of a look into. But this showcases how thin or how Fredbear or squad is where we've got an under 21 right back. We've got Chambers. We've got McConnell. We've got Inju players in the squad. We just have no options or depth in this team currently. The issue we have is that there have been three players with long-term injuries since I've been here at the start of preseason. Giovanni Leone is already going to be out for a year and Conor and Hugo are both long-term as well. They are players that we trust in the long-term and want them to be our players. Sometimes we decide not to think more in the middle long-term and just a solution for these three months. At the end, we want them to be players for Liverpool in their positions.

28:17The club has decided not to sign so much because we need them for these two or three months and instead trust the players we have always working with the players we have. I'm thinking of the long-term, trying to explain why Liverpool didn't go into the market and add players. I get it in the sense of three months down the line. You're then going to have that issue where we'll grab these back and you've got this player here and you know, I could decay his back and you've got this player here. I get it in that regard but the reliance on Conor Bradley's same theatre, who's missed two and a half full seasons of Premier League football through injury is a big, big gamble. They chucked there. I do apologize. I think that's a big risk and it's a big call from Liverpool to keep that faith. I do want Bradley to work but it's the same thing we've had with Gomez now for a few years. It's a lot of ifs, mutton babies. If mutton babies. You know what I mean. A lot of things have to line up for this to go particularly well. As a manager, you need the players for today but if they explain to you the vision in the long-term

29:20project, you also have to understand the club. I think sometimes it doesn't make sense to pay crazy money. The market was the market for players who may be in the long term. You don't need, then you will need this money to solve other problems in that position. Sometimes it's better to look a little bit further than the next game and the next month. I think that's what's happened in some position in this market. Again, more justification regarding why we have done the business, we've done this summer. Why we didn't bring in Elimine Camaro, why we didn't add to the right by quality or anything of the source. Now the signing, the signing which we all knew was going to happen. Liverpool have announced officially Gillian and Grisson from St Etienne with the French forwards. It's officially joined the club on a permanent transfer in January, not in summer of next year. The 18-year-old will now spend the rest of the 26-27 season on loan at League on the side, Stadbrez.Brest-Twa, I think is how you pronounce it. Look, this is a coup in terms of bringing

30:21in a young lad, 12 goals in 14, caps for the France under 16s, 11 goals in 11, caps for the under 17s, parts of the France under 20 World Cup squad last season. He was in the UEFA European under 17s, championship team at the tournament with France finishing as runners up to Portugal. He's very too footed. He is more than capable of going through the centre of your need and too. And Chelsea, Barcelona, PSG and Milan were all interested in him. And he can even play as an attacking midfielder if you need them to desperately. He's got a track record of doing it. So for the future, this is exciting. And it goes with the Brownins deal. We are building a long-term squad. What this means for Josh Abe, I don't really know. What this means for the likes of Enga Moura, I don't really know. Like, do we need another young long-term winger?
