This podcast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network. Hello and welcome to Daily Red. I am your step-in host for just today. I learned yesterday that Lewis is covering tomorrow. So this is me till Saturday. But yeah, we're here. We've had a press conference. We've had an overlap, winging about Liverpool, which might be fair, might not be fair. We'll get into it. And we've got a cheeky bit of referee corruption being admitted by a referee, which is always ground. And there's some other clips going around from Danny Simpson. He talked about a bit of a referee in corruption as well from Mark Clatenberg, I believe it was. So we've got a nice busy Thursday. I won't go too much into the game because I know Lewis will want to do that tomorrow. But yeah, if you

want a comment, I will get you on screen as Mayas done there. Hello guy. Hello, Mayas. How are you doing? Mayas? Let's go with that. But yeah, we'll get into this. And let's start with Roy Keane's comments because I know Dave did a lot of the press conference stuff on news around this morning. So we've had a we've had an overlap, which I'm sure many people listen to, even if it is just Gary Neville and Coorders. So let's go through this. So Keane on the latest overlapped said, I wouldn't know where to start off finish with Liverpool. I look at the two fullbacks for Liverpool. I'm on about the basics of the game. I'm on about heading the football or they're trying to win balls. They can't win. They don't even have a feel for the ball just dinking it in behind or playing in one, two. We used to give Trent a lot of stick, but at least he could pass it, ping it and switch play. We're using Arsenal. We spoke about their attack. You look at Arsenal when they lose the ball. It's little details. Everyone took in for each other. You attack as a team. You defend as a team. Liverpool certainly aren't doing that. Four goals and two games. They're not

good signs. Is that all because of the fullbacks to be fair? Probably not. But the whole team is all over the shop. You do need a bit of help to help that. You do need a bit of helping hand defensively. They're not getting a helping hand from them. It fielders or anyone in front of them or behind them or their goalkeeper. I mean, the goalkeeper lines just absolutely ball. Let's be honest, considering the save, I'll e-made the other day. But look, we know coming into this summer, it's going to take time and we know the fullback position, especially is a position that is a position in progress. We've had, I know Trent's been gone a couple years now. One year? I do cares, but he's been gone and Robble has. He wasn't Robble. He wasn't the peak of Robertson for probably a couple of years now. Even the one that was in the title-winning season, it was a slightly different role, wasn't it? So we've had a transition at fullback for a little while now. And look, we're never going to find, it never might be too strong a word. It's going to be difficult for us

to find a pairing of Robertson and Trent again for the whole grand price of Kevin Stewart about £8 million. And look, it certainly is a work in progress. Are the players we have? Are they good enough to even be working progress? Some would say no. Some would say yes. I think if we start with Kirkers, because I think he's the easier one to discuss, isn't he? We spent a lot of money on him. We kind of need him to work out, oh, we're going to have to be spending. What would be the price of a good left back now? Lewis Hall is probably the best left back in the country now, isn't he? And what would he cost the best part of £80 million from Newcastle who already don't like us? Like obviously we could go elsewhere and find like a cheaper one on the continent or a random one, obviously. But if we're just staying in the house in the Premier League, that's probably what we're looking to buy the

best in class in that position. So we need to be patient with Kirk as a bit. I think we obviously have the right manager for me, lost Kirkers to get better. But his strengths were never about defending. It was about if we want to stay with the defensive side of the game, it was about being aggressive, being a very good presser. It was about getting in people's faces like he's never going to be the best at tracking a runner. Like that will improve. I think he's still on 2022, 2023. And he will improve defensively or he should improve defensively. That's probably the better way of wording it. I think it's the other side, isn't it? It's the other side where it's a glaring issue. It's a glaring issue. And in a era, era, all it did mention that in his press conference about that position and we'll get the exact quote up in a bit. But look, we've come into the season with basically just Jeremy from Bunger's a right back. He's clearly not a fallback.

He's a winger who became a wingback and then can't to mine all the genuine chopped and chained between right wing back and right wing at Leverkusen in their title winning season. So right back probably on where we clearly needed to buy someone and we've just left it to rot because we have Joe Gomez and Connor Bradley on the books. And look, we had a good injury up there on Joe Gomez being back in training next week, which is fantastic. And let's be honest, at this stage, Joe Gomez is going to be right back. We have options for center back. We've got Leonie coming back to training next month. Gomez minutes are going to be up fallback this year. You'd presume it's just how many minutes they are. Because the thing with Gomez's injuries are that random. We can't even plan for it. Like we've now be catered. We could we could guess because guaranteed it'd be like one out miss four. Whereas Gomez, we saw it

in clops last year, didn't we? He was fit most of the season and he was excellent at fallback. And then last season, the Arnie Schlock's first season, he missed quite a bit. And then last season, he wasn't really trusted, even though Ebu was awful. And now under a error all up, injured five minutes into the new managers rain in preseason. So it's completely random with Joe Gomez, isn't it? So but when he's back and hopefully gets back fit and hopefully has one of these positive seasons where at least he can be a factor in the season, he's going to have to be the first chose right back because we can't have done there because we're short in midfield. Look, I don't want to be winging, but that's the fact that's the facts of it really. We have left right back especially to rot, I think, out of all of the positions. I think left back is less of a concern because we do have even beyond Kirk as we've got Kirk as we've got Symmacast who is all right. He's pretty much all

care, everything, but not really been good at anything like he's got a really he's probably got a really consistent cross on it. But he's like he's like a five or a six out of 10. So he's probably all care to be a backup, but you don't really want him starting that many games. And then you've got I was going to call him a connoler, Luke Chambers. He got Luke Chambers who is probably more of a defensive minded fullback, but we might need that considering our right back option. As Neil says there in the chat, Joe Gomez, he will be back for a few games if we are lucky, then miss a few, then offer a few months. Yeah, that's always the issue with Joe Gomez. It's been the issue with his entire Liverpool career, especially since the clock does isn't it? He kept picking up, he picked up that massive injury where it was in broken leg. And since then, especially I think it's been very much up and down, but that's the reality of it. I think even if Bradley was here, I'd still say Joe Gomez was our best right back, which is not not ideal. That's not ideal. I think on yesterday's

show I did say Gomez for me is our best right back. But yeah, as Neil says there in the chat, it's just he could be there for free games in a row, then misses six months. It's maddening. It's annoying. But yeah, where do you stand on the fullback's chat and anyone listening later on, let me know on Twitter or wherever in the discord, whatever. It is fullback's the real bug bear of the summer because look, I think midfield is annoying, but we have numbers in midfield and the manager by reports and I can't be bothered getting into that stuff where oh, we have numbers in midfield. And if MacArthur's still left, we would have got Camarri, Yada Yada Yada. But we do have we have proven players in midfield who have had success at Liverpool. And being starters in a Premier League winning side.

That's kind of where if you don't go ahead, if you don't scratch any deeper than that, that's fine. But in midfield we obviously have Grave McAllister. Didn't work at all last season. Train Yorney looks fantastic as a prospect. I want to see a lot of him this season. And we're trying to turn Dom into a number eight out. So we have, I forgot to start, we have five or six options with McConnell, don't we? So we do have numbers in midfield. Whereas right back, we don't know when Bradley's back, Gomez will be back for two games and then missing. And Jeremy Frank pongs not a right back. Right back was such an easy fix this summer and we didn't even attempt it. Like we weren't even linked with a right back. That's probably the most annoying thing. So I agree with parts of what Roy Keane said here. And look, the midfield, it's a project. We don't have a defensively minded midfielder. We just kind of have to hope that McAllister can run again. And we kind of have to hope that Dom

becomes more disciplined, better at tackling, better at passing, better, better everything. Let's go full Dave, David Moise. What we're missing is tackling, shooting, crossing, a bit of everything. But yeah, I think I agree with the fallback position. I think as the if the midfield improves, the left back will improve because when he goes, you can sit in more. I just think right back, it's just not a goa. It's not a goa until Gomez and Bradley are back. I just think that's an issue. And it wouldn't surprise me if Dom starts one of the next hand full against which September and our player of the season is going back to right back. Already, which isn't ideal. But yeah, if you agree with what Keane said there, feel free to let me know. Or disagree massively. What does Hugo say? A cane didn't have to tell us that we're all over the shop. Yeah, it's it's look, it's been a bit of a messy start to the season, hasn't it? I think

there's been positives. I think there's been obviously negatives, but defensively, yeah, defensively is going to be we're going to have to be patient. Aren't we? We are going to have to be patient. But look, he compared us to Arsenal. They Arsenal have had the same manager for seven years and they play seven defensive players. We're not going to win. That wasn't why we brought Ira all in. We bought him to improve the team as pressing team and attacking team will be defensive frailties there, especially the will be in the in the short term. But look, it's brought success to Arsenal. We got rid of we got rid of Arnie Slot who wanted Uber slow control football. I don't think we would have accepted our tatters. What the what's the phrase? Haram ball or whatever it is. But yeah, as Hugo says there in the chat again, midfield more like need someone to sit while I was attacked. Yeah, yeah, fully agree, fully agree Hugo.

It's it's just going to have to port mechalistic and run and Dom learns the position I feel. I feel shall we get into a bit of referee and corruption? A bit of a self-own from Mike Dean this morning. I'll open up the BBC. Let's have a look at the stage there we are. So I'll just read through the article and we'll test my reading skills live, which is fantastic for me. So this is by Dale Johnson. I'm showing many of you saw the the quotes going at the video going round from Dean Smith from Mike Dean on one of these. Was it the Jeremy Vardy podcast? Yeah, it says that literally right in front of my first I can read Jeremy Vardy's name. Look at me go. So former Premier League referee Mike Dean says he used to set himself many challenges during the matches as a laugh. Appearing on Jeremy Vardy's podcast, Dean said he would see how long he could go without blowing his whistle or standside the center circle. And I quote, we used to say it will kick off now

right. See how long we can go without blowing a whistle, Dean said. I've done that a few times in the Premier League before Vardy obviously went 20, 25 minutes without blowing a whistle. I used to do another thing. I used to stand in the center circle. See how long I could stay in the center circle before I had to leave. That was just me joking about I got about 15 minutes once. BBC under a BBC spot understands that referee figures consider Dean's claims to be unfounded, which would be historical and go back to pre video assistant referee E. RIP before 2019 when pro ref was under different leadership. It's not the first time Dean has courted controversy for his media statements. When acting as video assistant referee for Chelsea to draw with Tottenham in August 2022, Dean failed to send the referee to the monitor for a red card for Christian Romero. The Spurs defender should have been penalised for pulling Mark Cougare's hair after retiring. Dean said in an interview that he did not interview intervened because he wanted to save referee and for retailers from extra grief. I didn't want to send him up because he has a mate as well as a

referee Dean said. What can we say? What can we say? It's astonishing and look, I haven't got this one prepped but there's a clip going round of Danny Simpson on under the Cosh podcast as well where he's talking about Mark Klattenberg. I think it's Mark Klattenberg if it's not I do apologize and I'll correct that on a future podcast if it's not. But Mark Klattenberg basically admitted he should have sent off. I think it was Danny Drinkwater and he admitted he wanted lester to win the league over Arsenal so he didn't send him off. Look, this isn't even about being a bit of Liverpool fan but like growing up we all fought, we all fought it didn't we in the 2000s that certain gloves were fervid by referees and look I'm not obviously none of these have got anything to

do with like titular asses and stuff like that but even in the varie era we we had that Louis D as moment a few years ago as now but like Mike Dean was one of the most prominent rests in the in the country. Mark Klattenberg if it was him was the most prominent referee in the country after him Howard Webb bugged off wasn't he? It's astonishing that I don't know if they're doing a full investigation into this how can you investigate? Like unless they've been bribed or something like that there's obviously no money trail or anything like that but it's just people who look it's football it's not exactly like a political scandal where it's world change and or anything like that but you've had one of the most prominent rest for probably the last 20 years of the Premier League basically admitted he was taking the piss. I mean

what can you do? What can you do? And like look the standard of referees been crap all our lives but I'm 32 it's been awful all my life and it's been getting worse and Vars only highlighted how bad it actually is like last weekend um not in a forest penalty astonishingly bad decision astonishingly bad decision and we've obviously got long-term issues with Michael Oliver Chelsea fans up long-term issues with Manfred E. Taylor and the refereeing in this country needs a complete reset they're not good enough at their jobs like I don't know how you can advertise it as as a career for young people to get into or do we need to change the rule book and football to make it more simplistic because the Harry McGuire one the other day the Harry McGuire one the other day where he's handballed it and because his shot is that bad it goes in as an

own goal it doesn't count as handball one he blocked a clearance which is handball should be handball he basically makes a goal and because a referee doesn't have any common sense whatsoever and can only read one bullet point and go oh that's a rule it's absolute bollocks the standard of referee and corruption might not be the right word but the fact that we've had in the space of one morning we've had this clip from Dean himself and a player I'm not sure when that under the cush clips from but they basically just admitted one's admitted to corruption if what Danny Simpson says is correct that is corruption and Mike Dean's just said ah soddit I just want to have a bit of fun to do if it's football it's not life-changing but we don't know what games he's been taking the piss in we'll have to go but there'll be some nerd who'll go back and look when he's just stood in the center circle taking the piss um but referees in this country needs a proper

reset we need to get younger people involved from a younger rage and fast tracking's probably not the way to do it because then you'll just get loads of undercooked under prepared reps like what was it uh not Tony Barrett he's the guy in charge of the media um Barrett from the other who did our forest game he was he's not ready to be a Premier League referee um but let's look at some of the comments from us uh did a uh we should have bought in some sort of strong defensive midfield yeah I think everyone agrees with that Tony um a lot of a lot of issues in the midfield but at least we've numbers there but yeah I we just don't even have one who's defensively minded never mind an actual DM um let's have a look Hugo there these these decisions from the officials are happening again this should have been sent off and votes offside goals should have stood as crazy no vert the vert's goal I'm not overly frustrated by I can see why that was given and well they

didn't barely show any replays of it so how would I know um and ref's bottle jobs by Hugo there as well well it's just it's just not good enough that the level's not good enough and look the um uh pro ref or whatever nobbs were in it now uh can say what they want about um unfounded he's admitted it numerous times I think that for the second one about um Christian Romero that was on sky spot wasn't he when he was doing the referee and desk thing they have now um horses mouth horses mouth twice now isn't it it's just there needs to be an investigation but how can you do it if it's just lads taking the piss and look refereeing is a hard job everyone who grew up being a football fan and that includes the referees as all of them support non-legs I'd apparently um famous altrigan fan um

anfini's hella from Manchester um you get your own biases you get your own biases like say if we became ref's liverpool fans could I be a neutral in a Chelsea game I know I don't think I could I don't like Chelsea I grew up disliking Chelsea from the rafferty I don't like Chelsea obviously you can't do man United Everton I'm from the North East could I do I couldn't do a burrigan I have a soft spot for burrig so they all have it it's impossible not to do it unless you literally like raise one from from grow up and now you don't like football you're just a referee yeah it's it's it's a very hard job but they've not been doing a very good job at that hard job what's a job's a hard and when one of them is to take in the piss it's it's not good enough it's not good

enough so they'll be not fall out to it the very the rarely is with referees they'll get if you have a bad game as a referee you get demoted by refereeing a championship game well done still it paid um let's have a look at some of the courts from andonia rollers press conference then I know div did this on the news around this morning so we won't go massively is massively into it and Hugo I'll come onto that after the after the courts here but let's have a look through some of them if I actually share the screen that probably help add to stich so I'm filled in dexter people behind the scenes went through the courts this morning and hopefully for me can go through it so the question asked is should Liverpool have signed more players and andoni said I'm very happy with the signings we made do I want more signings at the end of the club has decided those signings

we have done are the ones that will improve our team there were other options we decided not to take for different reasons sometimes sporting or economical the deal didn't make sense in the market but I'm happy now have a lot of quality in the team moment is for the players to give it all they have um it's not exactly a ringing endorsement of his the thoughts on this god is it look he's not slagged anyone off there but he's clearly he's clearly hinted that there was some stuff left on the table there and I mean the late lynx in the window who did we have sa I'd personally previewed and I'm all right with that one and I would have rather a kept gack for any day of the week than sell him and get sa minter obviously injured we could probably easily go back in for that one in January and it brighten of obviously signed a few youngsters a few wingers and a few forwards this summer so I think minter should be an easier day it would be done um and ideally fit

in January which is fantastic um I think the interesting ones gusto isn't it because he did mention economical there the club clearly recognised we had a gap at right back um it's it's just strange we went capping hand to Chelsea and wanted a loan and the quoted fee from gusto from the start of the summer was about 75 million so when we're kind of over the barrel what were Chelsea going to do like a loan deal would have been grand but if it's an obligation for 75 mill it's just it's too much for a player like malo gusto if it was like hekemi ultimately a right back is a right back you know it you can't be spending that much on a fallback unless it's someone transformational um 20 times you'll never walk alone I thought it was a really good interview guy I found the way found the way to be positive without being a liar didn't pretend things were great but isn't throwing his toys out yeah yeah and I've really liked that I've really liked that

to be honest um obviously by the end of Arnie slot it was kind of just a frustration of seeing and I think but I appreciated that about Arnie slot as well he was kind of he was kind of honest to a fault at times where I think era all uh it just kind of says as it is doesn't he and and maybe he slightly it not as hard dutch harsh dutch are very harsh in the way they talk aren't they they're just very honest and just don't really care um it's it yet it comes off really nice in the in the press conference doesn't he he really does I like the way he speaks um he really does um Tim at she liked the goalkeeper get get gang if you're on about the green one of this one I'm wearing the new home kit for audio listen I love the green one I haven't seen I haven't seen the third kit goalkeeper kit off the top of my head the aware ones a bit

I'd have to bring it up but I'm not going to do it on the show it's a bit I love the green one the green one I might get the green one all right wait till it's on sale because I just got this one literally this one came to do um but I do like the green one um but uh yeah I do like the way roller speaks I love the way real or speaks um what else did he say uh we had an update on Joe Gomez let's put me back on the screen um we're all on Joe Gomez fitness uh Joe will probably start training will was next week I hope we can have him before the break we have a right back we have a right back chat we have a right back returning soon as I mentioned earlier on I think I did just quote that earlier on it's fantastic news because look we don't know how long he'll be fit for but any game that Joe Gomez players at right back is a bonus it's a bonus he's still the best right back at the club he might be them now Jack has started really well hasn't he but we have options at center back as I said earlier I think Gomez is minutes we'll be at full back this season because

we have Jack has started really well a reho albeit only from the bench has started really well I probably won't bring this one up but um Lee O'Neill he's meant to be back in the international break so we have options in defense and Van Dykel display every game till each 45 years old that's fine no issues there um or just Tim say here uh Errol expects like we do best efforts um I'll back and do any thought throughout this season yet absolutely absolutely um absolutely we give we give this manager time I think as long I don't want to compare it to Arnie slot all the time but as long as we're seeing progress and it's something we want to see I think the fan base will always back the manager where it went wrong for Arnie slot was the end picture wasn't something we wanted to see the football was crap and that was crap by design it was boring patient we didn't have the players for it obviously and maybe if we got in Wharton or whatever the other people

we were linked with who could actually you know pass through the lines it could have it could have worked but it would have took time and the ball the process would have been boring whereas we come into Errol and look it's been two games and it's been two disappointing results but you see it the pressing is there with the sprints that were up in the second game of the season we're running again and we fell in love with Yergen Klopp football now that to me doesn't mean we can't do another we can't have another manager with a different style of football but as long as as long as the players look like they're they're having fun and we can actually play a fun attractive football like the only time that was probably different was the two thousands where that was just the style of the time wasn't it and I only saw the end of who will year and who is a bit more defensive but raffer like the seat that other than Venger and maybe Fergie it was a defensive league merineo came in and obviously spent unlimited amounts of money but raffer and merineo that that was kind of the

tactical blueprint for that for that time wasn't it and look Fergie went on on one free season Roa couple years later but defensive football it got us a Champions League and then got us to another final did the Hugo says here oh please go mess seriously we love him but we can't last for two games before breaking down down it it's just the reality of the situation Hugo it just that is I think we just kind of have to hope and pray he he stays fit but yeah 20 times you'll never walk alone says anyone know why Errol has said hopeful badges everywhere are sad to do that we didn't sign camarie I must have missed that must have missed that um I'll have to go back and look peps gone woo if we're about Guadalajola that's fun yeah it it does open up the league doesn't it um any other courts that I can grab from the press

conference let's have a look at this one because it kind of leads into what we said earlier on didn't it so they were all on right back and sent a midfield cover challenging the squad now as we don't have Connor there at right back that's why I value Dom at right back as he can play there versatility in the player helps us go through the moments when we have injuries in midfield we have good numbers now it's a matter of getting the right calls from myself I'm finding now the best combination and we we are going through a period now where we'll play a lot of games and we'll have a chance to see the options uh we have and the combination we have it's a matter of coaching look that that it's an interesting one because look we he could have easily just came and said look the midfield's not where I want it to be it we needed to sign someone but he's he's put the he's put the pressure on himself like he obviously wasn't going to come out and said they'll let me down they should assign a midfielder but he said he's put the pressure on himself there he's put the pressure on himself there to actually coach the players that we have that we know are good players maybe ill-fitting players

but we know they are good players and he's put the pressure on himself there to improve them as a collective and look it might the reality might be they can't do what he wants to do but he he's seemingly going to trust their talent at least for this season because we know we know January Windows we only sign left-wingers that that's it and pre-deals for sender backs we only sign left wingers so we won't be buying one in January um but he's put the pressure on himself there and I like I like that we mentioned the second ago where um we like how he speaks but he he backs himself he backs himself and he's a really good coach we saw that a bond of how the numerous players improved the numerous players that got signed by big clubs um oh okay I must have missed that I missed that 20 you'll never walk along uh it's a Dave Dave Dave it's reference on my show

how dare you how very dare you how very dare you um but yeah I do like um I do like the way error all the speaks but there is plenty more quotes from the press conference I won't go into them all um costaid obviously did the show for it earlier on but let's finish with this um here go ask this earlier on what do you think the line up will be tomorrow night um so yeah we did do scout it so we went through it on that if you want to detail the one but I'll go for it now um so I'd go Ali and so you asked what you think the team or the I won't do what I think it'll be uh oh what I would do so I'll go Ali I think he'll keep from pungent right back um uh Jacky Van Dyke Kirk is midfield I think it'll be Dom and McAllister again I don't think it worked but I think there the two we need to persist with because if Mack gets back to his levels where he can actually run he's our best midfielder and Dom Dom's a project this season we have to see if we can turn him

into a number eight and we can't bend that off after two games I just don't think we can we need him to be good in midfield because look versus the number ten the only other position Dom could play as on the right but we've not seen that yet maybe that'll change if he doesn't get this number eight crack by new year and but I think from Dom's skill set it's an easier transition from attacking midfielder to right midfielder but I think it'll be Dom McAllister as the as the eights of the the double pivot excuse me that's an is that of the easy answers there aren't they um maybe just goes unchanged I don't think Barcola will start because he's not had massive minutes as he's obviously he's been in preseason but he's he's not been on the bench I think the super cup was the last time he was on the bench if I remember correctly which was a little while ago now wasn't and but he's not played in those games but I think he'll be on the bench it just depends where

Gakpo's heads at doesn't I think Moonos will definitely start because he's been really good it's just if Gakpo's disappointed about the signing it's an easy one to bring in Rio isn't it I think he'll just keep the same the same side so yeah I'll I'll say Moonos on the right and Gakpo on the left as the only change because I think Moonos against Leaf Davis for them is a bit better of a matchup I think Leaf Davis is a big boy and I think he'll probably prefer the defensive um like just getting up close to Gakpo who wants the ball to feet whereas Moonos is a bit quicker and a bit more dribble-easening um who's there right back uh or shea isn't he can't say I've watched much of all shea or he doesn't he doesn't stand out as anything as a weakness or a strength um but yeah it's just I think he might swap the wingers around but I think he'll keep the same team which was a long windrancer to say that um but let's finish up with the comments there from

20 times you'll never walk alone uh I think they might start back on her and field maybe 30 minutes for him yeah I think it wouldn't be surprised wouldn't surprise me if he get if he comes on as you say about one hour um tomorrow night uh who do we play oh a tad like a comodrid isn't it so yeah maybe atleast a bastard of his first game isn't it um but yeah wouldn't surprise me if it's atletey or the next game uh and then continue don't think Gakpo will agitate if he's playing he'll be happy um it's just yeah I think Gakpo is a it was a last minute opportunity for both him and the club and maybe we made promises earlier on but look the move the moves can happen still like spurs didn't sign anyone and he was happy enough to go to spurs um man cities man cities probably dead with NDI going there isn't it that's probably the big issue but

he was happy enough to go to spurs and they got what moodrick on loan they're not going to buy moodrick for 75 million let's not other one for you so I think spurs will still have money in the future um Aphrodite you son can you explain to me why people are complaining about a DM when we've got training ony look I think people just want that experience shoeer fire thing um I think Trey is going to have a massive season I think I said unskelted yesterday if he plays if he gets in the team but it won't surprise me if he eases his way into young player of the season for the entire Premier League never mind does um but it's a lot of pressure on a young kid who's played like what 300 minutes um in the Premier League it's just a massive jump like I I think Trey should have been playing a lot more last season um and this season I'm happy enough where he is I think it's just it's a lot of pressure on him if if don't doesn't improve and McAllister doesn't improve

Trey is going to have to play he's going to have to play with an underperforming player because Gravenburg obviously had a bad start of the season as well it's a lot and look it's a position we've not really addressed since Fabinho left um obviously we bought Endo as a stopgap it's it's a position it's a weird one isn't it because even if you go back when when mask around or left we didn't buy another one till Fabinho it maybe we just as a club we just don't appreciate this position but the two best teams in my lifetime was Mascarano and Fabinho being very key in those teams so I think it's a position we need um I don't think it's a position we need a a solitary Fabinho type person or for a more modern one Rodri type figure um but Kamara obviously the one that's linked um I think Kamara is a bit more of an all-rounder but he's he's defensively

minded like he can do a bit of everything but he's defensively minded I think that's kind of what will be looking for um the lad who went to Brentford Sangare he looks like he can do a bit of everything um yeah I don't think we'll I think we'll try and get through without it but ultimately we just don't have defensive minded players in the team we just don't we only have the only the centre backs are defensively minded I power at this point too often but it is it's an it's an issue it's an issue I think we need defensively minded fullbacks or one of them need to at least be defensively and we need one in midfield who thinks about defending um but yeah just to put your second point on screen there for Daitieson but he was there last season and we've reared a plus he played every preseason game as well look look I agree I think I think the way we bought all these young players domestically and the foreign lads like we bought the the massive goalkeeper the young lad from France

um we need to give them pathways I agree it's just one of them where there's a pathway and then is the deep end um and I think it's a bit too deep andy at the minute so I agree with you point I think Trea should have a pathway and the team I think Brio should have a pathway and the team Brugemanns should get a pathway and the team as long as they're performing and training and and the progress is keeping going but I agree with you Trea was our best player in preseason um and look that preseason may have kept him at the club because he was linked with Boost-Swansey on loan wasn't he and he's clearly took the fancy of the manager so I would prefer a defensive midfielder and then Trea behind that player um but look we've just we give Gravenberg 200 plus grand a week Dom's just got 200 plus grand a week if we're going to keep McAllister he's going to get a massive contract um but ultimately the clubs decided we're going to get rid of Jones and we're going to

back this young lad and we have to hope he works out all we're going to be in trouble but I think he's going to be excellent I think he's going to be excellent this season and I think he's going to be excellent for the long term um and just to finish with our last one unless another comment comes in um from 20 you'll never walk alone there again a fit Gomez at Wrightback gives our team much more of a balance but a fit Gomez is also a figment of our imaginations look look if we if we like I don't know sacrifice to a pig and or something like that some will get ritual and we can keep him fit for the season I agree with you I think it is transformative which is stupid to say but if we just have a defensive minded Wrightback or a defensive competent Wrightback I think it'll improve Kirkers it'll improve the midfield it's less pressure on Jack here um it's just yeah yeah let's hope he stays fit which is a massive hope but yeah we'll finish up there I went a bit longer but um blame Dave Davis he was meant to have a medium out as this was meant to be later in the day

um so this is a rough job um and it still went long but I will finish up there as I said Lewis Aspenal is on daily red tomorrow I'll be back I might be doing raw I might be doing raw treb is poorly at the minute he's ill so if treb has his voice back he might be on raw if not it'll be me but I believe that's going to be on youtube again um I believe so but if it's not me on raw I'll be back for the weekend daily reds um so check out the socials um followers if you're not following or subscribing whatever the hell the term is uh subscribe on this account on unfailed index we have unfailed indexed extra where we're going to keep adding more and more content but please do follow that and if you want your epl fix as well your premier league fix we do also have the epl index which is getting more and more content um I know tab predictable is tomorrow I believe we're set that basically going to be 2pm Friday every week but uh until I'm back whether that's raw or the weekend I will catch you then bye bye
