Sl: Matej je hodil po ljubljanski tržnici, kjer je zrak brenčal od pogovorov kupcev in prodajalcev.
En: Matej was walking through the ljubljanski market, where the air was buzzing with conversations between buyers and sellers.
Sl: Bilo je mrzlo zimsko jutro, vendar so bile stojnice polne barv in vonjev.
En: It was a cold winter morning, yet the stalls were full of colors and scents.
Sl: Sveža zelenjava, suhi mesni izdelki in kupi začimb, med katerimi se je Matej zmedeno sprehajal.
En: Fresh vegetables, dried meat products, and piles of spices, amongst which Matej wandered confused.
Sl: Zavedal se je, da želi narediti nekaj posebnega.
En: He knew he wanted to do something special.
Sl: Njegova družina prihaja na večerjo in on želi skuhati tradicionalni slovenski golaž.

Sl: »Za dober golaž potrebuješ dobro osnovo.
En: "For a good goulash, you need a good base."
Sl: «Matej je pokimal in sledil njenim nasvetom.
En: Matej nodded and followed her advice.
Sl: Kupila sta sladko papriko, česen in zelo pomembno lovorjev list.
En: They bought sweet paprika, garlic, and the very important bay leaf.
Sl: Bolj kot sta hodila po tržnici, bolj se je Matej počutil povezan z domačo hrano.
En: The more they walked through the market, the more Matej felt connected to the traditional food.
Sl: »Poglej, tukaj je še zadnji paket te posebne paprike,« je rekla Nina in pokazala na stojalo z zadnjim paketom prekmurske sladke paprike.
En: "Look, there's the last package of this special paprika," said Nina, pointing to the stand with the last package of prekmurska sweet paprika.
Sl: »To je ključno za tvoj golaž.
En: "This is crucial for your goulash."
Sl: «Matej je prebledel, ko je videl, da nekdo drug želi isto papriko.

Sl: Pogledal je Nino, ki mu je namignila, naj ukrepa.
