Third down five Patriots down by three 26 seconds to go. Shotgun snapped the May. Moved out of the pocket throws a pass and so intercepted in the end zone. Was he in bounds intercepted by job Seattle is picked off me. They've done it again.

The defense of Seattle has done it again. Treat me as thrown his third interception in this quarter. Tough deal. And by the way, Kevin Harlan, what a call. Oh yeah, always did you see the video? Oh yeah, of him making that call. Wow, he made that throw. It's so funny because he has his palms up and he's going, why would he do that? Why he's thrown three interceptions? And he's like, it's like he's, it's almost like he's playing to the camera, but he's not. He's reacting with with his body in real time. And I love it. Oh yeah, he's seen great videos of if your pops doing that on some calls where he's swinging his fist and he's jumping or he grabs Tim by the shoulder. That's my favorite. The first year they were together in 2019. He grabs his bicep. But Tim rounds like, hey, bro, chill out here. Touch me. Well, does that happen at the in the water boy with, with who are guys in the Bronx? Bremmasberger and Dan Fowth. Yeah, to see Grabham and say it's because they didn't hold anything back. Yeah, shaking shaking at the end. Yeah, where he's like, yeah, it's like can't, can't hold back now, Dan or last season, can't hold anything back.

Now we know, we know, we know. And it's because they didn't hold anything back. Niners didn't hold back yesterday, 27 to seven over the LA Ram. So again, I'm not going to get way off on like there. We misguided it. We were. It's not what we thought to be sure about these teams is not true in the 90s. We're wrong. Like, it's an awesome. The 90 way rather being a situation than the Niners are in than what the Rams are in after they got off to the slow start. Also, division games are weird. Yes. The Niners have had Sean McVase number in the regular season. And they want to game against them last year in week five down in LA on a short week with a backup quarterback. Yep. And no Nick Bosa, right? So to have their weapons and to dominate this one has to feel good. They also come out of week one with the fewest questions of any of those three teams in terms of not just health or ability and success. They're going to go into a fairly soft landing spot with Miami dolphins. I would say so to be probably a bottom two team in the NFL this year. I would say so. Then Arizona. Let's see what else happens. I think they're the worst team on paper.

I think for sure. And I think it's by design. They're rebuilding. Yes. So the Seattle Seahawks lost their starting quarterback on the first series of the game. Now Marcus Thompson just said, he doesn't think Sam Donald elevates the Seahawks that much. I don't totally agree. I think that's not giving enough credit to Sam Donald. I think he's far better than to relax is. Yes. And I think that because a guy doesn't win 14 games back to back seasons on two different teams by accident. Right. It just doesn't happen. And both of those teams had fewer wins the season before he showed up. It's just not consistent enough where he had an amazing performance in FC championship game. People forget that. Yeah. No, he was on point. I think three touchdown passes well over 300 yards. But then against against the Patriots the Super Bowl. Obviously the offense went through Kenneth Walker. So Sam Donald brings something to that offense. He runs a Kyle Shanahan or a Clint Kubiak or now a Brian Flurry offense. Pretty damn well. And Drew Locke is more than capable of being a good backup. But he's not the starter there by any means. I think

let's stay afloat. Yes. As you've asked a lot of the problems with a mat with an incredible defense. But we should also point out like it again. If we're going to nitpick here and I'm not saying anything about Seattle. I came away from that game being like, damn, they were still flying around out there and they didn't even have all their pieces. No. What I would say though is they still did quote need three interceptions in the third quarter off a drag man in the fourth quarter off a drag made a win the game. But that's how it lead their defense is. It is. They can put it away like that. It's just not something that is necessarily going to be repeated to that tune against better offense is percent. Now I don't think that's sustainable. The same way I was with the 49ers a year ago being like, I don't know if they can just outscore everybody like that's hard to do every week. They need the offense. Well, they do have the playmakers. They do have JS Sanley. You still have a 40 something 45 year touchdown. Exactly. You get your run. Yeah. They can still run the ball effectively with that that rookie Giderian price. So they're next two games like it doesn't sound like San Francisco. You have for quite some time. They have games against the Arizona Cardinals. The Washington commanders will be the least bit surprised the CX 3 and O with true lock. But however, coming away from yesterday's game, looking at

the three teams in FC West, we keep talking about the most impressive team by far is the 49ers. But I still think like let's not just say let's not write off the LA Rams. I think they're the, what was the 2012 Los Angeles Lakers with Steve Nash and Dwight Howard. I saw all those memes last night. Second Steve Nash reference of the show. Yeah. Didn't expect that today following a big night or winner in Australia. Didn't expect to hear about that. And two sperm references during the round table yesterday. And the first today. Go ahead, bro. Keep going. I still would say the potential is there for the Rams to be the best team in the NFC West, given their star power and the C-Hawks. But you can't deny that the Rams are the most impressive team in football to this point. Now we've only seen two games, but the 49ers kicked their ass. So give them a ton of credit. How shenanigans knows the Rams again, a different team, different defense, miles carrots on there. But the play calling was a, it was exceptional. Raheem Morris was exceptional. So yes, I was blown away. I was impressed by the 49ers yesterday. What do you think about Marcus's comment? Because I, that's, I thought that was a good

one about the Rams. Like he's like, I'm not ready to say the Rams aren't the best team in the division. And I'm not either. I think it'd be foolish to write off McVeigh because of how Kyle has dominated him and dominated him in this game. Right. Right. Like the guy is a really, really good head coach. They were in the NFC championship to write off Matt Stafford. I think would be foolish also. Yeah. Until again, they show us that they're not the team we saw last year with more weapons than, um, and defensively, I mean, uh, then I, I don't think there's any reason to think a less of them. But Marcus's statement was, I think they're probably still the best team in the division on paper at least right now, but they don't want to see the nighters. And I, there could be something to do that. I think so. There could be teams that are the Achilles heel of, I mean, the, do you remember in 2007 when the Patriots were seven, I mean, you remember, of course, 16 and 0 and of course, 18 and 0 into the Super Bowl. They played the New York Giants late that season. And the Giants kind of gave them the what for even though they won. Oh, yeah. And there was a thought that like even what the Giants like nine and seven, nine. Yeah, they were. But that last really sees a game. I mean, last year in the regular season, the summer late in the year and the, and the

D line kind of mauled a little bit. They did the Patriots won, but there was like a thought going into that Super Bowl. Like this isn't a good matchup for the Patriots in that offense. That's, that's always been the case with the 49ers and the Rams, where yes, of late Kyle Shan, or Sean McVay has beaten Kyle Shanahan. But it's not consistent enough. And there was dominance there from 2019 on where yes, the Rams, when they got Jira Goff and Sean McVay came over. They were dominating the 49ers. That was Brian Horeer. That was other quarterbacks 2019 when they got that pass rush. I remember that game. I was to start it in 19 for, I'm sorry to cut you out. You kind of to start in 19. I'm with you because it's like Kyle got here and didn't have a quarter like he was waiting to get a quarter. But then he had a defense. I remember that game in 2019 NLA, where I think Jira Goff had like below 100 yards passing and they were just in the backfield the entire game. Nick Bosa, that whole defensive line. So Kyle knows the formula. Kyle knows how to beat Sean McVay. And so does his decordant. Yes. As important. And I, you know what? I don't know

about Chris Shule as a defensive coordinator. I was talking up, I was talking them up because the Pittsburgh Steelers job, they always have young defensive coordinators. There was, there was a one, there was a place in time where he was looked at as maybe the next up-and-coming head coach in this league. The defense didn't look great yesterday. And I wonder, you know, just because they have a galaxy of stars, is that enough with the coaching? Like the 49ers definitely don't have the stars that the Rams do. But it's the coaching. It's the scheme. It's what Ricky Morris brought yesterday. Does Chris Shule have that in his arsenal when it comes to, you know, calling plays defensively there. So I'm with Marcus on that. Yes. The Rams have the galaxy of stars at the same time. They are somewhat scared of the 49ers. Even though they spent this entire off season, game planning for the C-Ox. How do you beat this team? I think they're a little scared of the 49ers. I just, the more the Niders play in the way they're playing now is where John Lynch gets aggressive when it comes time to play in acquisition. Let me see. When the Niders are good, when they're in the hunt, like I'm the thought of like being

3 and 0 into the Denver game and then potentially 3 and 1 into Seattle or 4-0 into Seattle. And again, you got to get the next two and you don't get the next two. That's probably that. You should get the next two games. You should with the talent you have and what you just showed. Maybe the two worst teams of football coming up. Yeah. You back to back. You're getting to at home. You know what I mean? So like you get into the by-week even when we're right around trade deadline time there. That's we get middle of the season. That's where players start to become available. You start to store trying to fill some holes on your roster. Yeah. And that's where people who want a guy like a Max Crosby or some big time player to be added. They got to prove they're in it and John Lynch will go get something. Last year, it was like we can't mortgage everything. Because we need to rebuild all of this again. And yeah, I you know, so far, so good in terms of the health they've gotten in return. I would say so. They have a golden opportunity, a golden opportunity to promote more of Marcus Thompson's post year. Most of the book from about 10 years ago. Yeah, exactly. But yeah, I think that you go 3 and 0 here. Let's see where the Rams are. Let's see where the Sioux. My pain doesn't change today. But of course, the four nights were the most impressive team. I also, you know, just like we said

that real quick about the Niners and the Rams. Right now, that's identical to how the Niners feel about Seattle. Seattle, Seattle, Seattle, Shanahan, they asked him before the Super Bowl. So what do you do against this use? Seattle defense? He said, I don't know. We haven't scored a touchdown against them in two games. Of course, I'm not like I'm the guy to ask because he's dominating me. But I would imagine Kyle has spent the last several months in play acquisition and in game planning about how do we get through Seattle? You have to and you have to and if Shawn made it the same thing, that's a kick in the gut in terms of how yesterday went. In a way, KBR's a number to call and text. We got plenty more to come. Giants pregame tonight. Odd shift after the excitement of the of the Niners, we're playing out the string here for the Giants in the last few weeks, 715 pregame Giants and the Padres. We got 715 first pitch, 615 pregame. Richard really adjoins us at about 15 minutes or so at 450 talking some Giants baseball. Also, Susan Slyster 530 Kruger at 550. When we come back, let's look at the rest of the week one slate around the NFL, make some picks and some wagers together head to head. Oh, we'll do that next. It's story work. It's a Friday and it's only here on these sports later.

Information visit JDpower dot com slash awards awards based on 2026 model year. Now back to dirty work with copes and deep hop on 104 5 FM and 680 AM V sports leader. Dirty work on a Friday victory Friday for the 49ers still celebrating the win, but then we got to get back to work tomorrow, boys. One day to celebrate back to work tomorrow. You know, they give themselves the 24 hour rule. Yeah, I mean, I wonder how that works with their flight if they still get the 24 hour rule. He's like, by the time we land, you get four more hours. That's it. You better be done celebrating. Right now. I assume they've returned. I haven't seen anything on social media. Yeah, it sounds like they're back now. I'm moving on to Miami. We're on to Miami, dude. On to the dolphins who haven't even played their first game yet. No, playing the Raiders. That is the thing that you get some extra time off, which is nice. It's a long week for the nighters to try to sort of recoup. So they get I imagine a couple of days off. I wonder if Kyle's watching Texas tomorrow and then some games on Sunday.

I bet he's absolutely no, you know what? He might watch Texas tomorrow. You might. If they do an off day or something like that. Yeah. Yeah. How many times on the flight did he watch the Rams? Like how much of the flight did Kyle show the all 22? I was like, for how much did Kyle shenhen use the flight for his preparation? Oh, he probably watched it. He's got a game plan for my animal. Yeah, come on. Play the game yet. He knows what he's going to do to get his ass. He's maniacal and all the hit coaches are, but like he was prepared yesterday. That's what to me. That was telling his creativity with his play calling and Sean was like, well, let's see what we got. Yeah, it was it was a a class performance. It was like Kyle shenhen. All right. We got week one of the NFL season. Danny, could we get someone like an NFL music or something? He's got it. Oh, how about that? Do you have week one in front of you as far as a slate? Yeah. I know it off the top of the dome. Do you? Yeah. Ask me who's playing. All right. Who's a Buffalo plan? The Houston Texas. Yeah, they are. And this is a big time matchup, coach. Now lots of hype around the Texans coming into the season. I feel like. Oh, yeah. They are. If if the Rams are the darling of the NFC, I think the Texans are the favorite in the AFC with their their defense. Will Anderson

juniors. They have you favorite for defense and player of the year. People want to see CJ shroud. You know, kind of do we buy that's interesting that they're kind of the dark. Exercise the demons. Yeah. He didn't accept a contract, right? I don't know if he was given one, but it sounds like he's going to bet on himself. I'm betting on myself. Well, you're not offered one. This is all right. We're knocking off your contract. Let's okay. I'm betting on myself. Yeah, exactly. I don't want to begin with you have a choice. We're rolling on. But you know, I think it's smart because this off season's going to be Caleb Williams, going to be Jayden Daniels, going to be Drake May. So if you play well and you're in that conversation, good, good, a nice payday. But Josh Allen's had struggles against the Houston Texans. So I like that you're having probably the two strongest teams on paper, maybe the Denver Broncos in the AFC playing week one. That being said, I do like the builds in this game. Interesting. Do you want to you want to go ahead to head on the show? Sure. I you know, it's funny. He's like, I'm not totally buying the the Houstonite. Okay. And they added David Montgomery in the backfield. They really didn't have a good backfield last year. Willie Marx. I think it's still there. He was there. Lee Marx. Yeah. What he

Marx, excuse me, um, after somebody went to know, somebody got hurt and never took it back. Joe mixin. Joe mixin. Never came back. Mysterious injury. He's still gone, right? He's retired. That's tough deal. Yeah. NFL is tough, especially on running backs. Yeah. See what McCaffrey does for so long. It's incredible. Right. Um Montgomery, I mean, it's a good back. Yep. I don't know if we'll see as much out of him as we saw in production wise in Detroit. Right. I mean, that was an incredible. Now they're just going to go Gibbs every single down. And that's going to be a monster. Um, I don't know if I'm totally buying the season hype for the Texans because I just I'm not totally in on stride. And I know he doesn't have to be great. But he hasn't looked as good to me at any point in his career as he did his work. He's season. But that might be the best defensive football agreed. So that's a major factor in to me. Go. I trust as a coach. That said, I like them in this game more than I like them this season overall. Okay. Yeah. This is for me the Achilles heel type thing because you know why? Because the bills don't want to play the Texans. Same thing with the with the Rams playing the 49ers. Josh challenge is not like playing the Texans. So rare are the Texans in the bills. That's a 10

a.m. Kickoff local time CBS game on Sunday from Houston. You're going to take Buffalo on the road. I am going to take the Buffalo bills on the road and Joe Brady's debut as head coach. Uh, you know, they're favored in the game too. Bills. Point and half favorite. All right. Rams were favored last night. Like three and a half three and a half. They were. Yeah. Same as the same as the Seahawks surprising. Yeah. That is interesting. Anyway, so you're going to go bills. You want the points? I'll just wouldn't get ahead to head off. Sure. So we're going to make these wages. We'll do this throughout the season. All right. We'll just do like season. Well, we'll figure out what we're betting for the end of the year. Okay. What our big, big prizes for the victor by the way, remember my bowl prediction. I bet with you that J.J. McArthur would have more starts than Carla Murray. Yeah, we bet a season along better. Yeah. Uh, third string for the Minnesota Vikings. I'm already looking terrible with this idea. I don't know. Person went speed amount. Yeah. But you know what dude? That like, that's a flimsy. So we bet each other that I said, Kyler, we'd have more pass attempts on the Vikings. You said, J.J. McArthur, now it's bold to me. It's bold of you. But I was with you. I thought he'd be the two. Yeah. Three behind Carson West. The three.

Wentzel van. You shares up and number two. So what I would say though is if you have to have like third guy, he think he's going to get attempts, that might be it's not. It's a pretty flimsy one too. Yeah. Like I wouldn't be surprised. All you need your, your, your an injury and a couple of bad performances. Once whence becomes a starter, if like Kyler gets hurt or something, and wentses in the game, if he loses two in a row, there's going to be like, well, should we just let McCarthy? But that's what he's telling. Yeah. That's pretty time where things are at right now where J.J. McArthur's third string yikes. This is one of those times where I'm like, I knew more than whoever was running the Vikings when they made this quarterback decision. Yeah. Yeah. This is one where I'm like, dude, you let Dan Jones walk out the door. Sam Donnell walk out the door. Didn't want to sign Aaron Rogers. And then you just drafted McCarthy. By the way, and McCarthy got hurt. You drafted him. Now you're going to run with him as the starter. I didn't like him. I'm missing it. Yeah. I didn't think these was an NFL quarterback anyway. Yeah. By the way, take the Packers tomorrow against or on Sunday against the Minnesota Viking. Yeah. I'm with that. I'm with that one. So okay, we're going week one. That's our first bet. We'll go ahead to head. You're going to go bills over Texan. Okay. I don't like that. I like Texans.

Okay. Fair enough. All right. Moving on here. What, where else are you focused as we come up this? Who are the Eagles playing? They're playing the commanders. Where are the Eagles stack up for you this year? I like them in the NFC East. I like their defense. Although John the Grinard, not good with a pec injury when he was a little while weightlifting still on PUP or just out for this game. But I want to see how this guy what's his name? The new offense coordinator for the Eagles. I used to be Sean Manion. Sean Manion is now the offense coordinator for the Eagles. Former quarterback. Yes. I want to see how this looks. It's a Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, Matt Lifflorel like offense. I want to see how Gila and Herz handles that. So I'm expecting a lot of points this weekend between the commanders and Eagles. I'll take the Eagles in this game. How about the other NFC West matchup? The Cardinals, we're just saying could be the worst team in all of football this year. Them are the dolphins. Niners get them back to back in the next couple of weeks. And the Chargers are kind of one of the drawings of the AFC too. A lot of people are hyped on the Chargers. Mike McDaniel there with a quarterback, maybe more talent than any quarterback he's ever had. I would say as a play collar as an offensive coordinator. I would say so.

Pass game a run game coordinator with the Niners. He's got a pretty what could be a high octane offense and a really good defense. Yes. He's a harboh, who knows how to win. He does. The Cardinals are going to get destroyed in this one. It's at so far. I would say they win by two scores. The Chargers. Yeah. And then the Cardinals, the Cardinals schedule so funny. They have statistically based on last year's records, the hardest schedule in all of football. Well, they play the AFC West and of course their own division. So we've got a fourth-place schedule until the hardest in football because the Niners, Seahawks and Rams, listen to the schedule for Arizona. You tell me when you hear a win. Go for it. Chargers at Chargers. Then they're home against the Seahawks. Then they're at 49ers. Then they're at the New York Giants. Then they're at home against the Lions. Then they're at the Rams. No, we're week six. Yeah. Keep going. Against against it's just as bad. Then they're home against the Broncos. No, they're at the Cowboys. Nope. Then they're at Seattle. Nope. Only gets the Rams. Nope. At Kansas City. No, no brutal.

So where we at? Because the division, we agree the AFC West could be the toughest division in the most competitive division in the AFC. Yes. You've got three teams kind of like the NFC West, though not very similar. That's quality. You've got very very similar Chargers and Broncos. Broncos, excuse me, with their defense. Commanders is the one maybe maybe that's week. A week is this week 14 14. Yeah. That's brutal. Yeah. So there's one win there from the games. We 12. It's week 12. Okay. All right. So week 12 is the first one that just looks on paper like they could win that game. Good. Like into the season. Good. Then they're home against the Eagles. No. Home against the Jets. Good win that game too. Three straight home games. I like the Jets one better because they'll have been at home for three. Yeah, exactly. And by the way, don't forget. I know. Still haven't won a home game since they hosted a funeral for a white nationals. There you go. Then they get to at the Saints. That's a questionable team for me this year too. I like the same. I like the Saints and the NFC South. Well, they should like that. I mean, they've got it. I mean, they've got it. They should. People really like him. I he next to Baker might be the best quarterback in that division. That's it. A lot. I know. And they'll win that division like

nine and eight. But I like I like killing more. I think Brandon Staley is a good defensive coordinator. Not a good hit coach, but good defense coordinator. They're missing Jordan Tyson. They're wide receiver. They draft from the first round. But I like the playmakers they got. And yeah, I do like what they got going on there with Kellan Morris as a coach wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the book and years take a step back. The Falcons. Yeah, Cooper rush starting on Sunday. Good Lord. I don't like Bryce Young. Yeah, giving the Saints. You're taking the Saints over the the Panthers. Let's give me the in that division. Yes. Yeah, the Panthers are playing the bears. How do you feel about a second year of Caleb Williams here under Ben Johnson? I mean, I told you, I think that I'm not buying them this year. I know that I buy Ben Johnson, but I don't buy this team right now on paper. I think they have a good offense. They know they got some playmakers and they get a little more depth of wide receiver. They got tight ends. They got running back. They just signed the Andre Swift to a contract today. But as far as the defense, I got to see it like yeah, my guy. I was his name for back of the day or the defense coordinator of the Northern Ireland Saints used to be the Raidersite coaches in a salad in a salad. And you know,

he's not allowed to a lot of work with there because there's not a good pass rushers. They got Monteswet. They're already very missing a safety. Yeah, I'm not a big Chicago Bears guy. I think they regressed this year. Go like eight and nine or something. Okay, give me another, give me another head to head. You want to go for this week? We'll do one more bet against each other. You got a player. You got a game. You got something to offer me. As far as a game this weekend, we're the competitive matchups. I mean, like the best one on paper is the bills and the Texans here. We could go a player though. Okay. I mean, like I'm looking for something goofy. Like you saw two of tongue of my lower is out. Yes. Okay. So two is out for this game. He's been rolled out. And they also don't have Michael Pentax. Or is it Phoenix? I always forget. So they're going to run with Cooper Rush as they're starting quarterback this week. Yeah, I don't think that at all. I'm not looking for a for a victory here. I'm looking for another, I'm looking for another rough quarterback. Um, you could probably go to Sean Watson versus the Jaguars. Okay. So how about this? Who has more passing yards in this game? Cooper Rush or to Sean Watson? We've won. I'll go with to Sean Watson because he's actually supposed to be the starter for a couple of weeks. But yeah,

I would go to Sean Watson has more passing yards against the Jaguars, the Cooper Rush. I'm going to I'm going to root for Cooper Rush. Okay. And I'm just going to hope he hits Drake London on like an eight yard cross and London runs for 80 yards. Yeah. That's that's all I'm looking for. But you know what? Well, you're hoping Jerry Judy does the same. Yeah, exactly. I mean, there are some playmakers for the Browns right now. But you know what? Cooper Rush has one games of the sleeve. I'm just saying he's a third stranger. He's you don't want to have to play him. It's like having Brandon Allen out there. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's like a couple years ago. Remember when Cowboys Adam. Yeah. He was actually playing. He wasn't bad. All right. I'm going to I'm going to go Cooper Rush over to Sean this week. I'll go to Sean. Okay. So Derek wants and likes to Sean Watson. That's going to do that one. We'll go. Yeah. We'll leave it right there. Yeah. We got to take a break. A brand slam home run for Richa Rilla and it's his second home run of the season. And his first brand slam of his career it is Ford enough for every giant Richa Rilla on these sports leader.

Yeah. 30 work on a Friday afternoon Adam Copeland D. Pop hanging out with you. Richa Rilla from a giant shortstop and part of NBC Sports Barrier's pre and post game giants coverage joins us each and every week. He sponsored by I all am organ and bizarre. If you've been injured in an auto accident, you know, just need to turn in. You need a heavy hitter contact. I all am organ and bizarre and sponsored by Surfside. It's not a sell to it's surfside Proud partner of the giants. Richie what's going on? How are you? What's up Rich? Oh, it's a great day. It's a beautiful day up here in Northern California. Nine or when last night all is good. Yeah. I see. So you watched again. You you hung her down for football season. You get hyped for it. Oh, yeah. There was there was some kind of a back to school night at my daughter's school last night. And I was like, yeah, honey, I'm not not going to be a little. Yeah. Are you aware? Are you aware, bro, that the Super Bowl's on Valentine's day that you? I was not aware. Oh, yeah. Start planning now to start saving up the good will. You

know, I mean, we're going to need a later. Well, you got to have a little, you know, I'll make it up to you. Yeah. Make it up to you. You do a fun win last night. They do. I'm with you. Like, I was it's fun. Like when you have questions about any team in any sport and like in baseball, it doesn't happen the same way. Like you don't get a lot of questions answered immediately because it's like one game doesn't mean much. You know, if you sign a big player and game one, he goes over three or over four. It's, you know, like, okay, but we got one 61 more football. You like you want to see the fruits of your labor, your offseason and the nighters like for all the questions, that was pretty cool to get a lot of it at least answered partially feeling good coming out of that one. I mean, there was a good answer. I mean, I guess the downside were the two injuries. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and you know, I haven't looked today and see the, you know, how extreme they are. I don't even know if they announced it yet, but you know, you got your other guys through who were hurt at the end of last year. And man, that defense looked pretty good last night. I mean, I was pretty impressed. And you know, the one thing I was thinking the whole game,

and we're not the whole game probably towards the end was like all the only questions that McVeigh is going to get is about flying over there the day before. You know, I mean, and, but it was a pretty dominant win. I felt last night. And I think right now with baseball season winding down and, you know, don't, don't know how the warriors are going to be this year. It was a really kind of pick me up for Bay Area Sports last night. So the nighters, you adopted team Rich because I know, obviously you played in the Bay Area for so long. I don't know like when you started getting invested in Bay Area sports, but like have the nighters now since, you know, you came to the Bay Area, have been your team? Did you grow up being more of a giant or jet skirmish? Still sims still have any of your heart, Reg. Yeah. Phil sims and Jeff Hostel. Oh, yeah. You'll do. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I was, I was a giant stand growing up. But you know, after playing out here for long time. And after honestly, I do a lot of stuff with the nighters, you know, foundation in the off season. And I, you know, I go for wine at a gamer to during the year up at Levi.

And, you know, I just, I just like the way they kind of run their organization and the people there and they've always been great to me. So yeah, I've been the nine or fan for years now and, you know, pull for them, you know, pull for them weekly. And it was fun to sit down last night on a Thursday night, which, you know, not used to doing that too much. And watch them come away with the victory in Australia. So we'll see how they get affected, you know, the next day, the next game coming back from Australia. Right. I'm talking to Richard really on the Uma Guesland. It's funny. You mentioned that like about the nineers and how they do things and how they operate like they're viewed as a marquee like blue chip like gold standard, one of the franchises in the NFL. And I know there are teams that aren't viewed that way. And the owners, so I mean, they kind of work together and keep in that from coming out. They used to do these poles with players or players would rank franchises for, you know, facilities for players and what not. But I imagine there's still some of that in baseball like our player because the giants, I've always viewed at least in the generation that you played and in the Oracle Park Air and even into now. Still, this is why it's frustrating with the losses the last few years is I view the

giants as one of those marquee gold standard franchises and move baseball west with the Dodgers. They're another one of them. But are players aware of that? And you've played in a few organizations. I just wonder about about how players viewed different organizations from with it. Yeah, I think it is. I think it's the same in every sport. You know, I mean, I, you know, the way I compared is, you know, towards the end of my career, you talked to guys you played with or or GANS and guys that have played for certain organizations. And I mean, I played with guys that, you know, went to the Yankees and they're like, man, there's nothing like playing for the Yankees. You know, whether you're the first guy in the roster or the 26th guy in the roster, say to be said for the Giants, you know, and then there's teams around baseball that area like, yeah, really don't want to go to that, you know, really don't want to go to that organization. They don't have a good track record or whatever. So yeah, I think it's the same in every sport. And you just have your teams that are staples of being looked upon as just great organizations. And fortunately, I mean, you know,

winner lose right now. The Giants are still looking upon that way as one of those, you know, great organizations to play for. Do you, as funny mentioned, like, there's organizations that are like, I don't want to go play there. I'm always curious because I think baseball is the only sport that has where players sometimes have a no trade clause, but they get only a specific number of teams. You know, I mean, where guys will get to select like, oh, I'm not going to those eight teams or those six. And sometimes it's a guy who's international or from Dominican Republic and doesn't want to play in this part of the country. I like, for whatever reason, I just wonder, have you ever talked to anybody who had one of those, but they had a weird reason for not going somewhere? Cause I know some guys are bitter and like, have a, I don't want to go to that place. They traded me away or I was drafted by them and they traded me and I went elsewhere and found success. Did you ever have any any funny stories around why a guy would have a team on his list? And no funny stories, but I mean, I'm sure guys that have played for an organization before and maybe had a kind of a sour or bad breakup with that organization. Don't want to go back there again. I know I had one. Well, you did the giant. My first, my first contract, I think my first

three year deal and like, whenever I signed in 2000 or something like that. Yeah, and I got to pick eight teams. Eight. And I pretty much picked the eight teams that I knew had no chance of winning. That's how I did it. I mean, I did at the time, I didn't want to go to Kansas City. I didn't want to go to Pittsburgh and I didn't want to go, you know, wherever, Tampa, you know, I mean, it was just that's how I, that's how I did it because, you know, I guess it's all based on individual too. I mean, because I just want us to win, you know, I mean, you could play anywhere and put up numbers anywhere, you know, depending upon how committed you are as a professional and how hard you work, but I wanted to be part of a winning team. So that's how I kind of weeded out the eight teams that I didn't want to go to. Talk to Richard really on the UMague S line. So then giants get their first sweep of the season, you know, good comeback victory on Wednesday down six to one in the eighth inning. Look at the web talked about it on Monday. This team is fighting more. Is it starting to feel like the guys with an experience getting more comfortable and learning how to win at the

major league level, Rich? Um, I think so. I just think now we're seeing some of the younger guys play a little more consistently. Um, you know, I really like what I've seen that a um, Turner Hill. Um, again, he reminds me of a Joe Panic slash Billy Miller type. Yes. Kind of player. Um, Jonah Cox and I've said this before, like I just like with the speed element gives the offense, you know, I mean, the other night, the other day, he hit like a oh two or one two little dribbler or shortstop and he beat it out. And that's what, you know, keyed the whole inning, basically. Um, so I like what I'm seeing out of some of the young players and some of the young pitchers too. I mean, Molina and Pradomal have looked pretty good and, you know, a month ago, if you said those guys would be in your rotation, you'd be like, who are those guys? What are you talking about? But they've done pretty well. Um, and I feel like I don't want to say they have a

chip on their shoulder, but they're playing a little more aggressive. Um, and I think that's a younger style of baseball, which is why I think Tony was brought in here to manage that way and to, to kind of manage that type of team. Yeah, you're going to have growing pains. I mean, they came back and that game the other day. I want to say they had three errors if I'm remembering correctly, and they messed up another rundown. Yeah. But, you know, they clawed their way back in the eighth and ended up winning that game. So, um, I think as a fan of the team, I don't, I don't know if I could say, Hey, let's go out next year and think they're going to make the playoffs, but I think you're getting a good base moving forward with some of these young guys to see what they could do now, and how they can contribute next year to the growth of this team and this organization into a into a different, you know, time now. Which really the voice you hear on the Ula Gasoline joins us each and every week, talking giant baseball pregame tonight, 615 for a 715 first pitch for

a start of a three game series against the podris rich. Always fun to talk to you man. Appreciate the time. Enjoy Sunday football then. Hey man, I'll be locked in guys. I'll talk to you guys later. That's good. Thanks for that. Richie Richie really joins us each and every week. That's hilarious that he got his daughters back to school night. He's like, yeah, sorry. I mean, he's like, I'm not doing that. That's a nine or fan. Oh, yeah. He's like, no, I'm not. I have to watch the nine again. Oh, yeah. I mean, it sounds like Richie's like a fan of all sports. I love that. Yeah, JT's like that. I remember from JT snow, but he's working too. No, absolutely. Yeah, how did JT flip it as Rams last night? I didn't say anything because he's well, he's managing games now. Of course. Yeah. Now he's out with the Amadesta Roadsters. So I haven't talked about it. Right. Right. Right. Used to be like, I was actually surprised I didn't hear from him because most mostly when the honors play the Rams like before every game, I get a text from JT snow, I was like, I'm going to wipe the floor with you. Yeah. I screw you, bro. He's like a few after diners. No, but do I remember? I'm like, he's dead played for for the Rams. Yeah. Of course. And I remember last year when the Niners beat the Rams at Sofie, he went on a Twitter tie

raid on Showman. They'd like, that's the worst play calling ever. He was unhappy. He's a fan, man. I will see if he has an update on that after yesterday. It's right. It's yesterday. Pretty bad play calling. I would say so. All right. We got some stuff we got to get to just on the heels of talking to Richa Rylia about the San Francisco Giants. I got to get you a dug out health report. Okay. Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente. There's more on this. Learn more about what Kaiser Permanente can do for you at kp.org. So let me get you a brief health report here. The one thing I do want I meant to ask Richie and I don't think it lined up time wise. I or he didn't plan F games. I wondered if he ever played against DL. Ooh, because DL. So Richie, I think came up in 96. I have to look exact. I think Richie came up professionally in 96. I could have been like part of 95 too. We have to go back and look. I think it was 95. I want to sit down my house. Okay. So it was 95. But then DL. He had a few years where he didn't play baseball and only played football. Right. But then he came back with like the reds at one point and played like a handful of games. 95 with the San Francisco Giants.

Yes. So I wonder if Richie played, well, I didn't even know if he played with him or against him. Let me see if Richie played alongside him. Anyway, I'll get you this dugout health report sponsor by Kaiser Permanente. Learn more about what Kaiser Permanente can do for you at K.P..org. The one guy I think everybody's been kind of wanting to see if you're waiting to see somebody who the Giants acquired. We haven't gotten a look at yet is Marcelo Meyer acquired at the trade deadline for Eric Miller. Marcelo Meyer is still dealing with that bone stress reaction. There's only what 15 games left. Is that where we are? I believe so. 36912. Yeah, we're at 15 games remaining this season. The Giants with one more win will avoid the dreaded 100 lost season. Marcelo Meyer, they keep saying continuing to ramp up. Hit on the field the other day. But he keeps like ramping up and then getting shut back down, which might just mean maybe it's better waiting for next year. Also, Victor Barracotto. He began a rehab assignment in Fripply Sacramento this past weekend. And that is your dugout health report sponsored by Kaiser Permanente. Deon Sanders was on the 1995 Giants. He played in 52 games. So I'm assuming that him and Richie

must have been teammates. Did you look at the 90 it was Richie on the 95. Yes, he was. How many games are rich play? Let me look at that real quick. Oh, nine games. I think he came up at the end of 95. Okay. All right. So at the end of 95, maybe not that's then Deon was probably going. Yeah, playing for the Cowboys that year. Be funny if Richie got called up and he's like I'm going up. They're like, yeah, Deon has to go play. You know what? I mean, he's like, he's playing in Dallas this weekend. I'll look up this weekend because Deon there's a whole contract dispute with the 49ers. Of course, he's got a one year deal with the Niners and then you know, just played baseball, held out and then signed with the Cowboys during the season. So it might be where he was playing baseball games to buy some time and then play for the Cowboys. What do you mean by time like until the season started until he got the contract he wanted. Yeah, because that's the way they'd hold it over. Yes. Yeah, I can I'll just go do this. Bo Jackson was gone by. He was. He went to play against. No, he was free. Dude, that was Bo Jackson. All right. We still got a couple more guests coming here where Larry Krueger joins us at 550 Susan slussard 530. We'll talk a little bit more Giants baseball with Susan when we come on back a sound swore feature in Kyle Shanahan,

Sean McVay Mike Evans and George Kittle from the post game, a little Niners sound swore. Also, I just got a text from Diane Haberman. They've landed their back. Oh, Giders are back in the Bay area.
