Draisaitl Aims for Playoff Return, Oilers Push On

Leon Drossiato hopes to return for the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup playoffs if they

make it there.

The 30-year-old center is out for the rest of the regular season with a lower body injury.

He's shared that recovery will take a few weeks, but he's aiming to help the team deep

into the postseason.

He got hurt during a win over the Nashville Predators on March 15th, leaving the game early

after a hit in the first period.

Right now, Drossiato is in Munich getting specialized treatment from a top sports doctor.

He'll stay there until Tuesday, before heading back home.

Oilers Captain Connor McDavid says the team can replace Drossiato's leadership, but plenty

of other players can step up.

Edmonton sits second in the Pacific Division, with 12 games left, three points behind

the Anaheim Ducks, and one ahead of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Joseidel ranks fourth in the NHL, with 97 points in 65 games this season.

Over his career, he's a four-time 50-goal score.

Leads the league in goals since the 2018-19 season, and has racked up over one.

Thousand points since being drafted third overall in 2014.

With playoffs starting April 18th, the Oilers face the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight, pushing

forward as Drossiato works on his rehab.
