And the prosecution is speaking.

4:03Having Reddington is speaking. The jurors are even speaking. Now Patrick Clancy is speaking and he is saying, please leave him the hell alone. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and T.J. I think this statement is long overdue from him. He should put out one every other day. This is matting what has come his way. Yes, and he described it correctly as relentless harassment. And literally use the phrase, enough is enough. You know, I believe he was hoping that this would go away, that people would stop, that people would let it go. And as he points out in his statement, which we will get to, that it's reaching a fever pitch. Still, it continues. People are obsessed specifically on TikTok, peddling these conspiracy theories that Patrick Clancy actually killed his own children, framed Lindsey Clancy. So he could steal away with his new wife.

5:05Okay. You say that out loud and that, why? That doesn't make sense. If you follow this case, and even an Iota of this case, that just doesn't make sense. But then you add the evidence. It really, really, it's ropes. That everything you just said is demonstrably false. There's evidence that that's not the case. So why is it that there might even be somebody listening now? Yeah. TJ Amy Yoller, so stupid. They check out our comments. Check out our comments. We have addressed this story when it first popped up. People on the comments are telling us that we're fools. I do believe that people believe because they want to believe, because they can't understand how a mom who loved her kids the way Lindsey Clancy is reported to have loved them by all accounts. How could she have killed her children? It must be patron. Okay. What do you call that condition? There's something in society. They have a name for it, I think, where you reject the truth.

6:07You reject no matter what is in front of you. You refuse to see it for other than what's in your own mind. Delusion. That is something else. I can't remember this. But this idea roams. We can't agree here. It's not just people suggesting or wondering and saying, you know what? Maybe we should look into it. It's not that. It's 100% and I am going to fight anybody who dares suggest otherwise. I don't understand that, baby. I don't understand it because this isn't a thing. It's not a controversy. It's not a thing. That's not a thing. Because who has defended Lindsey Clancy more vehemently than Kevin Reddington? If Kevin Reddington, her attorney, who if you don't know him, just Google his name, he has fought so admirably for his client. If he had one ounce of suspicion or any indication that someone other than his client killed those three kids, he would have been on it.

7:10He would have eviscerated that person. He would have. He would have. But this is not a situation where there's any doubt. There's zero doubt. There's no question. There is. There are no questions. Lindsey Clancy, people are saying she doesn't remember. She is fully admitting to killing her kids. Kevin Reddington, her defense attorney, fully admitted in his opening statements in his closing arguments that Lindsey Clancy killed her kids. The jurors weren't asked to decide whether or not she killed her kids. To your point, we're up to this is not a thing. So in the real world, the real world, she 100% is responsible and everybody gets that. In the other world, the one that's not real, the one online, the social media world, that's where this debate and questions are had roads in the real world. This is nothing to talk about. Was the line you keep using the cute one about? She says she did it. That is it. Oh yeah. I said the prosecution says she did it. The defense says she did it. Lindsey Clancy says she did it.

8:12Everyone says she did it. TikTok says Patrick did it. What? It makes no sense. Look, it's one thing to try and just say this over and over again. But the reality is the people who refuse to admit it, the people who continue to peddle these lies and falsehoods are actually causing real harm, real damage. And I don't think people understand unless you have actually been the target of a vicious online campaign, you cannot imagine how it cripples you, how it destroys you, how it affects everyone around you. You distrust how people look at you. You distrust what people are thinking of you. You start thinking terrible things about yourself. It can send you into such a dark place. Now have that happen to a man who's already lost his three children and a wife who he believed he was building a family with. You put all of the weight of that on this man. That is as cruel as it gets. And his wife.

9:13Who didn't ask for any of this? Who didn't ask for any to be a part of any of this? And Rose, there is nothing to say. I don't know how people grieve. I don't know how much time is supposed to pass before a guy who just had his three babies taken out by the woman he was married to. I don't know when he's supposed to move on in his personal life. What's the number? Four years, five years, ten years? And why do I get to say? I'm going to experience that. He might have been desperate to find some. I think you would be. Oh my God. I think you would be desperate to find some anchor in your life. Some hope that maybe you could still have a family. Some possibility that your life wouldn't just be this dark hole. And yes, you might cling to that very quickly and hold on to it for dear life. I think that makes sense. But TikTok has just been awful. If you Google Patrick Clansy, when you go to TikTok, you will see exactly what we're talking about if you haven't. But I actually felt such horror for his new wife as well. Rachel, she's been doxed.

10:16If she goes for a run, they're both marathoners. She's a physician who helps women who have infertility difficulties here in New York City. But they have just been blasted. They've now been targeted, photographed. And people putting up lines like how can they have smiles on their faces? Are these two people never supposed to have joy in their life again? Is Patrick Clansy not supposed to smile again? Is he not supposed to love again? Is he not supposed to have joy in his life again? Obviously, we know the answers to all of those roles. But why? This is a targeted campaign only meant to build social media, online followers, clout, and get clicks. There's a reason you put that picture up, Robes, with his face showing one way and juxtapose it with the idea of what the horror of this trial has been. You do that because you're trying to upset people. You're trying to make him a monster of some kind. You're trying to get people to react. It is wrong, it is mean, it is unfair. And it's happened to us. This is just a tactic.

11:17A tactic that gets used. This is no comparison, Robes. But you remember this in particular. I was just walking down the street. There was a smile on my face. Somebody took that picture and made a headline about me being monstrous just because I could smile when all of this was going on around this. Robes, it was 32 degrees outside and I had on a jacket. I was grimacing. I was walking down the street with you. And somebody took that picture and interpreted that into TJ Holmes uncomfortable grilcing after dirty dancing the night before at a wedding. The wedding that was the first one of my life that I'd never dance that. I literally never did. You never even stepped on the dance floor. Because it was a yacht rock wedding, we won't have to get all that. I was dancing with my girlfriend. So this is, it's the exact saying. The tactics are all the same, baby, to set people up to make them look bad. A guy who is the biggest victim other than the three kids. That dude. And why this is fun?

12:19You've gained followers. If you really, what person robes without ill intent is out there peddling this. Is anyone, can anyone look at this case, babe, and actually come out and say out loud? She didn't kill the kids. It was Patrick and he set all of this up. As sad as this is for me to say aloud, I do believe that some people believe that's true. Informed people, baby. Informed people, baby. The people who are peddling the information, I have a hard time believing that they think it's true. But some of the folks who are reading only what they see on TikTok or only from specific influencers, I do believe they're convinced. If you actually watched the trial, if you actually know what happened, you could never intellectually come to that conclusion. That's a good word to put in. Thank you. That you just calmed me down. Again, you always get to it at some point in these episodes.

13:21That was the line I needed to hear to say, calm down DJ. You could not intellectually come to this conclusion. You cannot. That's fine. Emotionally, and you want to believe a certain thing, then you'll just fill yourself with people who think like you, but you aren't actually informed. But you're actually doing some harm to a man who has now had to put out a statement, not just asking, not even begging, but giving you directions. Y'all need to leave me alone when I'm coming after you. Threatening. You know what? That's the point he's at. And honestly, he probably should have come out sooner. I get though, he doesn't want to. He didn't want to draw more attention to himself. He wanted the trial to take place and for that to be the focus and for justice for his children and certainly for his ex-wife. But now it's gotten to a point where he had to say something. And so yes, he has released this statement. Didn't you say, baby, at the top of you said he probably thought this was all going to go away maybe after the trial and maybe after even he testified.

14:22I think, wouldn't we have been on that same camp that, oh, you know, this will calm down. He did his two days on the stand and people won't be on this anymore. We were given that direction in the middle of our crisis. Just it'll die down. These things cycle in and out. Give it a week. Another story will make the headlines and you'll be yesterday's news. That doesn't always happen. And that certainly didn't happen with us. That's the reason for that. Yeah. That did not happen with Patrick Clancy. So here we can start reading his statement and we'll break it down for you because this is, look, he could have gone even harder after reading this. I think that was both of our takeaways. But he begins with, and this is from his attorney. Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign. This campaign of misinformation has been launched and promoted by minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting

15:27their own social media profiles and potential profit by publishing what they know to be outright falsehoods that Patrick was somehow involved in the death of his young children and other bile claims. That is a really impactful statement. You're actually only doing this to boost your social media profile. You are peddling a lie about a guy killing three kids just for the sake of building your online profile and maybe get some more followers and maybe get some more money. Profits. Maybe that is a damning statement and any decent person, if you're reading, if you read that, I guess most people are looking at, well, that's not what I'm doing. May I just have a serious moment with yourself? That's tough. Yes. So, then look, beyond it being vile and for profit, they go on to acknowledge this. This campaign, now fueled by insatiable media coverage, remains at a fever pitch and

16:27has resulted in real life threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life. He is saying he is being threatened. He has received death threats. His wife has received death threats. That is so awful to think a man who has lost what he lost, has now lost his reputation, has now lost his privacy, has now lost his safety. He couldn't think about this. This is a man who couldn't protect his three young children. I'm sure he lives with that guilt each and every day what he could have done, what he should have done. And now he probably feels like he can't protect his new wife and his new child. And he can't. Bro, he can't stop this from happening. Bro, I know he's probably the other part, what did I say about his reputation, his livelihood. Bro, that's going to be a struggle. Who's going to want to do business with him? Who's going to want to hire him? Who's going to want to have him in the office as some kind of a distraction?

17:29And also, who wants to, Bro, sit across from him? Well, this is going out there enough. Is it going to be in the back of their minds? And maybe I'm sitting here in an interview for a possible job with a guy who might be a triple murderer. I'm not sure he didn't kill those kids. You don't want that to start poisoning people's minds, baby. And now you've got his wife who is a physician who helps, she's an infertility specialist here in New York City. Now think about that and who she's dealing with other moms, couples trying to get pregnant. Did she really, was she the other woman? Is she the reason why Lindsey Clancy's kids are dead? Think about that. Even what she does for a living is directly tied to the trial in every way. It's horrific and her face and her name are everywhere. All right, the statement goes on. Patrick has no choice but to address this situation with the clear goal of stopping injurist behavior, creating accountability for lies that are self-serving to the perpetrators

18:32and being able to return his attention to what matters, preserving the memory of Korra, Dawson and Callan, Clancy and supporting other women facing perinatal mental health challenges. I mean, I didn't know that last part. I mean, he sounds like he wants to be an advocate of some kind. Maybe he's not there yet. I didn't realize that self-serving, woof, self-serving to the perpetrators of these lies. Damn. Hmm. So here is where he, the final paragraph is when he, the wording gets much stronger. Enough is enough. This spread of blatant and baseless falsehoods must stop. Those responsible should understand that there will be consequences and every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally law enforcement has been notified. Okay. I just don't know what can they do though.

19:33You've got to talk, it's free to speak. If threats are being made, they can look into those. There's guys now, a very significant public figure. But yeah, there are some serious stuff coming their way. I think they can report that again. Woof, but you can't stop people from saying, I know what's true. That's the problem. And unfortunately, if by putting out that type of information, people feel so moved as to pursue or to make death threats. Now those folks can be obviously dealt with criminally, but you just got to hope that the people who are out there on their feeds, on their TikTok feeds, take a beat and just read the statement and think through what they've done and why they've done it. It's causing real harm, real damage, real threats to his new family. This man deserves an opportunity to rebuild his life. Does he not? I mean, he was trying.

25:43I guess we're, again, this is what we do. We sit and we judge. And from whatever vantage point we all have, we don't believe that a man who's gone through all this should be moving on with his life yet. And we'll let you know, Patrick, when it's okay, we'll get back to you. I mean, what are we doing? That's so unfair. And so Lindsey Clancy's attorney, Kevin Rudderton, he's been making the rounds. You've probably been seeing a lot of him lately talking about the case, the jurors, but yes, he's also acknowledged this statement that Patrick Clancy and his attorney just put out. And Kevin Rudderton for the win again. He really, he cuts through the BS. He knows how to say things in a way. And I don't know, maybe his words might have an impact on some of these folks, these online sluths who've been so invested in the case, who've been following it, who've been commenting on it, who formed opinions on it. Maybe they'll listen to Kevin Rudderton. It's possible. So Kevin Rudderton had this to say, this guy's been through hell and back. He has, as I've said, repeatedly stood by her during the period of time dealing with

26:45the doctors, dealing with the medications while she's awake at night in their house, talking to her doctors, taking her to her doctors, taking her to the hospital, going to McLean, taking her to dropping her off at the Rhode Island Hospital, the suicide lines, all of it. He's been there with her and still stands by her by way of his testimony. And it's, I think it's just horrible what he's been going through. But you think they're going to listen to him? Back off. Probably not. Probably not. But one can help. And just going through the fact that Patrick Lentz, he has been admirable as an ex-husband. He could have absolutely felt differently about his ex-wife. Yeah. I mean, he, on the stand, you could tell he didn't want to be there. But Rose, there was not an unkind word that came out of it. That was even about his disposition. There was no, no anger, no heat in him, no hostility. At any point.

27:47And look, because maybe he was trying to just have enough strength to get through that testimony, he appeared unemotional. And that's part of what some of these conspiracy theorists pointed to. They were looking at his body language. How do you know what it feels like to be probably numb, to have to live and work through the most unimaginable tragedy? How would you operate in the world after that? Oh, who knows? Nobody knows. That's the thing. We don't know, but we have an expectation of people going through that from where we sit because we haven't gone through it. So yeah, he's just being judged by everybody for everything. That's true. And so look, we've already done an episode on what these conspiracy theorists point to. And of anything you saw that they listed from the shoes Patrick Lentz was wearing to the body temperature of Lindsay Clancy to his new wife to the email that he sent while he was running these errands. Did anything even rise to the level where you would go, hmm, that's odd.

28:52That's interesting. Maybe police should look at that. And they told me they did. That's the thing. They told me they looked at all of it. They could match up time stamps and phone calls. This wasn't just a random sumpt. No, there's nothing. If you look in, there's nothing to talk about. The body temperature that was explained by doctors and nurses during the trial before the trial after the trial. Nobody wants to listen. Everybody goes back to the shoes and the video and explain what the change of shoes. Okay, I don't know for sure that you did, but he also explained the shoes he changed when he got to the house. It was just ropes. Okay, let's say he changed shoes. So now what? Okay, let's say her body was colder than it should have been. Now what? Now what? These are just loose, baby. They're just taking loose facts and blowing them up into smoking guns. And it is just destroying this guy's life by all accounts. Yes. So I don't know. I hope that cooler heads will prevail, that maybe something that someone said in these

29:55past few days can at least look, everyone's entitled to their opinions. But I just think there needs to be just a level of respect, a level of decorum that's just missing. People look at Patrick Clancy, his wife, even Lindsey Clancy, all the folks involved in the trial as almost actors on a stage in some form of entertainment and it's fun and it's exciting. But what you say, what you put out there, what you comment matters. It affects people's lives. And so Patrick Clancy, taking a stand and he is letting you know you are on notice if you're peddling lives and you're threatening his family, police are ready.
