Sl: V Ljubljani je zima objemala mesto s svojim hladnim plaščem.
En: In Ljubljana, winter enveloped the city in its cold cloak.
Sl: Snežne krpe so tiho padale na tla, pokrivajoč starodavne ruševine Emone z belo odejo.
En: Snowflakes fell silently to the ground, covering the ancient ruins of Emona with a white blanket.
Sl: Mateja je hodila po ozkih poteh in s prsti nežno tipala mrzle kamne.
En: Mateja walked along the narrow paths, gently touching the cold stones with her fingers.
Sl: V njenem mladem srcu je tlelo hrepenenje po povezavi s preteklostjo.
En: In her young heart, a longing to connect with the past flickered.

Sl: V njej je obstajala nejasna ideja, da bi pripravila majhno slovesnost ob prazniku Epifanije, da bi častila ne le očeta, ki ga je izgubila, temveč tudi prednike, katerih zgodbe so se ji zdele vredne raziskovanja.

Sl: Tomaž je pogledal s telefona in se ozrl na Matejo.
En: Tomaž looked up from his phone and glanced at Mateja.
Sl: »Veš, sestrica, čeprav je preteklost zanimiva, je še bolj pomembno, da skrbimo drug za drugega v sedanjosti,« je poskušal razložiti.
En: “You know, little sister, even though the past is interesting, it’s even more important to care for each other in the present,” he tried to explain.
Sl: Bil je nekoliko oddaljen v čustvih, a v njegovih očeh se je skrivalo razumevanje za bolečino svojih najdražjih.
En: He was somewhat distant in his emotions, but in his eyes lay an understanding of the pain of his loved ones.

Sl: Mateja je zatehtano položila sveče na tla in prižigala plamen, ki je drobno migljal v snežnih vetričih.
En: Mateja carefully placed the candles on the ground, lighting flames that flickered gently in the snowy breezes.
Sl: In ko so tako stali ob svečah, jih je zajela posebna toplina, ki je izvirala iz medsebojne povezanosti.
En: And as they stood by the candles, they were enveloped by a special warmth that sprang from their mutual connection.
Sl: Vsak od njih je izgovoril nekaj tolažilnih besed v spomin na tiste, ki jih ni več, in misli na preteklost.
