Expo for trade in services highlights innovative practices

The China International Fair for Trade and Services is opened in Beijing, the annual event which runs till Sunday's a window under the latest trends shaping China's services trade. It's also the first national level exhibition for trading services during China's 15th five-year plan running through 2030. More than 90 countries, regions and international organizations are participating with over 1,800 enterprises exhibiting. Hujinghi reports from the venue at Shogang Park. The theme of this year's CFT is global services shared prosperity. For the first time, CFT has a dedicated China Services Exhibition area, bringing together services and innovative practices from across the country. Another big focus this year is helping Chinese companies go global. You will find dedicated areas showcasing overseas expansion policies, solutions in real world cases. This is the first city since the renovation of Shogang Park was completed.

1:05So this year's CFT is not just about global services. It's also about seeing how an old industrial site is being given a new life. China's consumer price index rose 0.8% in August. The CPI was at 0.4% on a monthly basis compared with a 0.1% decline in July. The National Bureau of Statistics says China's price levels continued their moderate recovery, reflecting sustained improvement in domestic demand under supportive policy measures. Meanwhile, the producer price index went up 3.8% last month. China's recognized 11 new occupations and 23 new specialties under existing occupations, including evolving labor demand driven by technological advances, industrial upgrading and changing consumer needs. The new occupations include shore-based ship management engineering technicians, embodied intelligence robot technicians, and sports data analysts. US President Donald Trump has ordered Canadian products removed from the US government contract lists in response to Canada's counter tariffs. The order comes amid escalating trade tensions between the United States and Canada. The US imposed 50% tariffs on around $20 billion of Canadian goods last month, prompting Canada to retaliate with matching tariffs on an equivalent value of US imports. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is called for national unity to navigate the trade conflict with the United States. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says it's attacked two US vessels and eight oil tankers in retaliation for a US attack on five Iranian tankers. The IRGC also said it attacked a US air-based in Jordan hitting a hangar and a shelter for US fighter aircraft. Jordan's military set its air defense systems destroyed 18 of 20 Iranian ballistic missiles. Earlier, the US center command set its forces destroyed five Iranian crude oil carriers
