The walls are talking right here in Tennessee. There's feeling beans about everything, so come pull up a seat. If you don't want the world to know, don't let it out your mouth. The walls are talking, they're that star right now. Welcome back to the walls, they're talking. We actually kind of intentionally didn't bring any guests in today. I think there's just so much going on out there in the world that we just needed to touch on some of it. We don't like to try to make this too much of a heavy subject kind of a show to come to. I think in some ways we like to be a little bit of an escape for that more on the entertainment side being Nashville and all. But sometimes at least as a family, I feel like we're raising kids here in Nashville. We're not just musicians, we're parents. I feel like some of that kind of leans in on what's going on out there.

At least we're faced with it as parents and we just kind of have to face it. Yeah, and everyone's wondering, what are we talking about? It could be literally anything because the world's crazy and it always has been. So here we are. Here we are. We're just trying to cover all the things. We'll fill you in as we go. I think some of it's probably pretty obvious if anybody's following the things out there. But we also just kind of want to take a lighter note and take it from our side of our perspective of things. And we also realize you all haven't really got a chance to get to know us all that well yet. So we thought that they'd be a good chance to cover some of that too. So this should just be a nice, fun, field kind of adventure pack day for us all, maybe. So if you haven't listened in yet, I'm Kelly Walls. And I'm Troy. Yes. And we are in a country duo here in Nashville. We moved here around 2012. Troy and I met in a bar weird out of songwriter night. And Nashville, you know, yeah. And then we started writing together and dating.

And then we got engaged and we got married. So we've been married 11 years. And it happened exactly that fast. It was just kind of like looking back. It's like dang, that just flew by. Met date married kids life. Yeah. Talk show. Hi. All the things. Which we never thought we would do a talk show. Like even how this happened is just wild. And we just never know what to expect in our life. It seems like a pretty slick segue into that. You want to go ahead and throw some information down. So how did, so essentially, how did we get to this point? I think I'll let you tell some of the story on that. So we were asked to be a part of the America out loud 250 10 celebration. And Troy and I were on panels with like elite people. It seemed like doctors and generals. And we kind of like out the whole time. I said I feel kind of unqualified. But we were the entertainment and family perspective for the show.

And for the panels. For the panels. And so, and we also played our songs. And we met Malcolm. I think there's actually a name for that is in there when you're When someone just kind of is dumped into something they feel unqualified for. And it's almost like a what's the word I'm looking for? People are out there screaming at their speakers right now because they know it. But there's actually a name for it when you when you're doing something that you feel unqualified for. It's like a self conscious thing. But anyway, I just wasted a whole bunch of time trying to figure out a word. I had a tell your story. Well, that makes me think of it says God qualifies the called. He doesn't call the qualified. So there's that, you know, like where you just don't even sometimes feel like you can do something. But then here you are. So hopefully we're doing okay that. But yeah, so we started doing that. And then Malcolm called us what like a week after. That seems about right.

Yeah, and he was like, Hey, I got this crazy idea that maybe we could. Bring you guys on weekly to do a talk show. And we were like, yes, immediately. Yes. And honestly, I felt a shift coming. Like I kept I told Troy I kept hearing the word pivot. Like there was a day where like four people set pivot in a row. And I was like, something's coming. And the moment we had this phone call, I was like, this is it. Kind of weird too, because I don't, I mean, not only did we not see it coming, it's not really the kind of thing that seemed like it was on our radar. Because we're musicians first, you know, we've been musicians and songwriters since Lord forever. And somebody calls you and they're like, Hey, you want to do a talk show? You're like, yeah, sure. I believe if I remember right, I think my actual question went when we got called about this. Malcolm was saying he just felt like we'd be a good fit for it. And I believe my first impression to him was like, well, I don't want to come across uninterested.

But certainly don't feel qualified. We keep coming back to the qualifications out of it. But I was like, I kind of feel like, well, all it's really going to happen is I want to end up finding out how many ways I can screw this up because it's all different field. It's all new for us. But I mean, it's exciting. It's it's I feel like, you know, in the songwriting world, we're always looking for something to say. And in a weird way, I don't even know that it's that weird, but just in a new avenue, this gives us a new way to kind of vent those thoughts and feelings and emotions and all the life stuff. So I don't know. I'm kind of excited about it. I think it'd be fun to just be able to sit here and spout things out as we get more comfortable with just sort of pouring our guts out to the mic in real time. But I don't know. I think that's what I'm kind of looking forward to most out of it is just getting to a point where just stream of consciousness can just kind of happen and get our thoughts out there. I think there's a lot of good in that end fund and that for me anyways. And y'all, Troy is extremely wise and he's being very humble right now about that.

But I'm here to tell you that this man has a lot of thoughts and a lot of things that he needs to share with the world. And I feel like, you know, we've been put in this position that this is like, Troy's just going to shine in this little world here and I'm excited to see that. Lord, careful setting it up that much. I'm only letting a whole bunch of people down. I'm going to think I got something special to say. I think you do. And it just comes out as something stupid because I'm good at that too. Well, I mean, not everything he says is genius, but some things. Right. I'm looking for genius. I'm always looking for genius. I just, I just rarely find it. I think that's probably power for the course though. Yeah. I mean, I don't want you to think you're always right or anything because that would be misleading. Well, why doesn't have anything to do with being right? Well, if you're really wise then you do what's right, right? You hope to. You hope to sometimes. Well, I don't know. This kind of gets me thinking. So we said that we would tell the audience some things about ourselves and try to, try to,

like expose ourselves more on a deeper level and see if we can get into our personalities a little bit. So I'm a little curious. So how, how would you, what, maybe the question would be, what do you hope for yourself as we kind of progress through this thing? And it goes on longer because I guess I just poured out what my thing is. I'm just like, I want to say a whole bunch of things and I'm thinking, now I've got a place to say it. And that's what I want. You know, that's fun for me, but that tells you a little bit about who I am. I'm like, I just want to say all the things. So what, what, I don't know. What is it for you? Honestly, I just want the Lord to work through me. And for those of you all that don't know my little backstory. So I was basically raised like Catholic kind of end. And Catholic kind of that's a division, you know, it's a nomination of Catholic. Yeah, Catholic kind of. And there was like medium stuff and psychic stuff and all that.

Get into that. So what, what, when you say there was medium and psychic stuff, like, like, I feel like you can't just leave people hanging like that. So my mom, like, read tear cards for people and like, spoke to the dead and all that stuff. And so I was very much like into that. And I always been very spiritual. And at the time, I didn't really realize what, what was going on. But about four years ago, I found a Bible in our backyard in the mud. And I started reading it and never read it in my life. I didn't even know what it was. And I started reading it praying every day. Troy told me what it was because I was like, look, honey, I found this book. And it's really small. And like, it's saying stuff about God. And he's like, Kelly, that's the New Testament. I'm like, oh, okay. So, um, It was like one of those little mini-bibles. It was a little miniature. Yeah, like a pocket Bible. It's like pocket Bible. And, you know, and it's changed my life.

I'm a born-again Christian. And that's going to be part of my, um, my worldview speaking because it just is. And, um, you know, I'm not here to like preach down anybody's throat, but it's just what I've come to, to be. And I'm like a different person. So I think to answer the question, um, you know, the Holy Spirit, like, I just want, I want the Holy Spirit to be able to work through me. And, um, and to be able to reach people that maybe he, he wouldn't have, um, through this channel and to share like our perspective on the world and, um, and bring people into our life a little bit with music and faith and family and all that. Yeah, I think it's, well, it's an interesting opportunity first off. And we should probably say some thank yous out here because, uh, Malcolm. Yeah. We got Malcolm bringing his into this thing. He taking a chance on his two because I mean,

there's still a real good shot we might embarrass you. And he won't regret this. Well, the funny thing is in some ways, I think he already has. He hasn't said it though. That's a nice thing. He hasn't said a word. He's been so cool about all this. But like one example is, uh, if anybody's been following each of these shows, we had, uh, this most recent show we did with Danny Worsnop. And we had, uh, we made some assumptions on some titles and things like that. And then we got a text from Danny and he's like, guys, I don't know if this is really quite what I was, the, the, the image and point I was hoping to get a cross out of this interview. And he was like, is it too late to do this? You know, is it too late to make an adjustment here? And we're like, you know, crap after he explained his issue with us. We're like, man, he's exactly right. We did sort of jump the gun and make some assumptions. And it's like, you know, now we're reaching out to Malcolm literally in the middle of the night. After everything has already been published and went to print, I say print, be new. It's out on all the platforms and stuff. And we hit Malcolm in the middle of the night and we're like, uh, we might have screwed up the,

our last interview, you know, we kind of made some assumptions and we sent you some information and y'all got it out. And after it was already out, like we're wondering if it's too late to make some changes. And that welcomed a deal with us. Like we said, this wasn't our wheelhouse. But may talk about a trooper, he just jumped on it. I mean, it was done on, on, on a labor day. Yeah, labor day. Yeah, freaking labor day. We hit him up last minute and then the middle of the night, not even kid in the middle of the night. He's on, he's on the computer and doing his thing. He's got the editors working in the background. He probably woke them up. I don't know. We felt horrible, but he's like, we'll get on this. And when he said we'll get on it, I thought he meant like in the morning and like 20 minutes later, he hits his back with new headlines and new art and he was like, I totally get it. So yeah, anyway, that's the kind of pain in the butt we're being here on the network. So anyway, I mean, I don't mean to ramble, but, uh, yeah, you'll catch me doing that from time to time too.

I'm kind of known for that. But anyway, point being is, uh, he's been awesome and he's been pretty patient with us while we figure some of this stuff out. So, uh, shout out to Malcolm and to America out loud and all them for bringing us on. And then you were saying something too. I was getting mouthed over here on the side. She was holding her finger up and I'm like, okay, I'm about to mess up my flow here. What do we got? I said, we have to thank Joanna. Absolutely. Joanna Daniels. Yeah, she actually, she's got a lot of things to do with her. She actually, uh, kind of made the introduction here. She did a lot of organization for that, uh, 250-10 event that America output on that, that we were doing the panels for. I believe she might have actually recommended us for the panels if I'm not mistaken might have been how it all started. Yeah, she did. And um, she, she's text us yesterday and was saying that she's been praying that, um, she said, let me see. That she's been praying that we have a way to get out there.

And that God will bless this. Yeah. Yeah, so I, we've, lots of things out there. So, uh, anyway, yeah, uh, I know we're just taking kind of this time to do all the shout outs and stuff like that. But that's, that's really the story behind what brings us here to you all now. So, uh, I guess on a more intimate level. As a duo, you know, maybe, maybe we touch a little bit about what it is to be a Nashville duo married couple parents in the industry that all sounds fun. So, uh, I don't know, you got something you want to touch on that. What, what is your, what, what would you think that people would like to hear about what we do? It's kind of funny because we're getting front of these microphones and they're just like tell them tell everybody about you. And it's like the conversations, it's funny being one sided, but here we are just getting to pour it out. So, uh, we'll fill you in on it the best we can. And if you have questions, I believe you can actually send those in. And we'll be happy to answer those on episodes coming up and, and interact more with the audience. But, uh, but in the meanwhile, more about us.

So, like I said, Troy and I moved here in 2012 and, uh, around then. And, um, yeah, it's going this month actually is 14 years of me moving to Nashville. Has it really been that long? Yeah. My goodness. I know. Um, it's really crazy. And they say it's a 10 year town. Um, well, a friend of ours, long time ago, he's passed now, but they, uh, um, they wrote a song called The Struggle Is Real. And there's a line in there that says, uh, during my 10 year in town, this 10 year town turned into 15. It's like, man, that feels real sometimes. Um, but no, but I don't know. There's progressions of things like 10 year town, like define made it, you know, um, year 11. I signed a music publishing deal with Portchlight Music. And that was a really big deal. Um, it's so hard to get a publishing company, a publishing deal. And like, I'm humbled every day by it.

Like I get in rooms and, and I'll be talking to people and they're just like, yeah, I just really wish I had a publishing deal. And, and I'm sitting there going, I literally have one. Like that's amazing. And it's really, really, really hard to get one because it's so competitive here. Um, but like even speaking to that, um, Troy and I as a duo, I feel like it took us a little longer to land anything like that, because people didn't like necessarily know what to do with the two of us, um, especially on like a songwriting level, because I don't know if, I don't know, we've kind of talked about that where we weren't sure like if people thought they had to sign both of us or if they could just take one of us. And, um, with my publishing deal, like honestly, it came down to, um, on their roster, they had a bunch of guys and they didn't have a female. So it made more sense for Portchlight to sign me. Um, but like Portchlight is also like invested in carbon walls as well or duo, but it was just interesting how that all ended up panning out.

All right. So we're getting pretty close to the end of the segment, but, uh, yeah, I think maybe when we come back, we can dig it a little deeper into the trenches here. And, I mean, so we actually do have a couple of kids, um, and kind of doing the industry with the kids and everything. And also we did tease at the beginning that we're, we're going to let some of our personal thoughts out on some of the events of the days. So we'll, we'll hit some of that as we come back. Uh, for now though, the walls are talking and y'all are listening. During treatment, the structure of tap water gets messed up. Yes, we have to purify water, but what are we doing to fix the water structure so the body can actually absorb it? That is why we created our lab certified structured water devices. These devices restore water molecules back to their natural structure, just like a mountain stream, making them highly absorbable. It's not how much you drink. It's how much you absorb that counts better hydration, better energy all day. Get one for your home or on the go at chemicalfreebody.com, forthslash out loud for an exclusive discount.

We were just coming off of you explaining a little bit about your publishing deal and how some of that work. There's a little more to how some of this came together to getting up to that point. When we first came to town and I'm jumping around here, but a figure will kind of close this out.

For those out there that are still interested in how this works for us on the inside. Then we'll move along here. When we first came to town, I think we just did what everybody does. We come in doing the things that we heard that people do. The things that we felt like made sense. We're like, oh, we've got to get these labels to know who we are and how do you make that happen. You just kind of start down the process and you end up going to all these writers' rounds. That became a really big part of it in my mind. It just kind of naturally happens where you start figuring out who your people are and writing a bunch with them. We've talked a little bit about that with some of the guests before. But that kind of led us to doing these writers retreats out in Arizona. Now that we're dropping all these names of the people who kind of helped get us to this point. We started doing these writers retreats out in Arizona with Mike Britt. He was really the muscle and the brains behind it.

We just sort of pushed it along and it's really turned into quite a thing. But I say all that to say that through that we were able to find people that's just been so helpful along the way. We've got some investor groups and things like that which we find a lot nowadays is more... Seems to be more the program. You're kind of looking less for record deals nowadays, not that it's irrelevant. But since everything's kind of independently driven, you know, finding your own independent investors and things like that becomes a big part of it. Yeah, and Mike helped us facilitate that and him in a group out there were supportive of us for years. I mean, they still are supportive, but like they literally were supporting us. But made it possible for us to chase this dream and be able to write every day and play and all that.

So thank you to them and thank you also to Tim, the owner of Portley. Because it's like God always has been taking care of us. We had that investment deal and then when that ended, we had another friend that was there too and support. And then we had... Shout out to Bear. Yes. Bear has been such a blessing. It's pretty incredible. And then he basically helped us get through until the next point, which was the pub deal. And yeah, it's just crazy when you look back and think like, wow, how did we even get here? Well, it's interesting because now, you know, I don't think a lot about it when I'm not actually sitting around thinking about it. But honestly, it's almost like if you're... You know, a lot of people ask if you're kind of... How do you know you're where you're supposed to be? Well, I guess in some weird ways, I might be sounding a little bit too, you know, hippie-ish about this.

But I think, you know, in my mind, I feel like you'll know you're not supposed to be... You'll know you're not where you're supposed to be when being there's impossibly difficult. And ironically enough, in our situation, it's like every time we bumped up against something that looked like... This might be it. Like we're going to have to rethink how we're doing this. Then some other possibility just keeps popping up. Another thing keeps happening. Every time you convinced yourself that like we definitely have to rethink what this is, then another opportunity just keeps popping up. So it's like... It's not even anything... I don't think that I can say it's anything we're specifically doing. It's just... Every time we think we can't do it anymore, something else makes sure we can. It's like a... I always say there's always been like a carrot dangling. Yes. But I want to tell a really quick story about that. Because there was a time right before I knew about the publishing deal.

And Troy and I had sent our music out to some different people. And it was crazy. Like two people in a row both sent back almost the identical email. And it was like, we don't get you guys. Thanks. Sometimes it's that brutal too. And like it was literally back to back y'all. And I was pregnant. I was super emotional. I had... Riders was maybe two at the time. And I was pregnant really sick. Anyway. So I literally got on my knees and I was like, Lord, you need to tell me something. Because literally I feel freaking crazy. And I swear to God that night Tim Medley called me and said we're going to offer you a publishing deal. Yeah. Well, it's another one of those instances where it just like kept working out. And even before that, like one of the records that we did with Ryan Rossibar or producer that we've been working with for years and years, you know, that was one of the things that we thought early on.

You have to do. It's like you got to have a product out there. And it's true that that is part of it. But I mean, it can, you know, for those that don't really know the insides of these things, even on an independent level, I mean, the record labels spend so much more. But even for an independent record, it's not unheard of to drop $25,000, $30,000 on a record. And so you got this young couple in town trying to figure out how things are working and how you get through it and how you do all that. And suddenly it's like everything you're here and it's like, well, you're really got to have a record. And it's like, so just come up with $30,000, no big deal, right? And then that possibility popped up and we ended up, thanks to some of my background, we were able to do a barter with our producer who had just actually another timing thing, was renting space and they had just found out that the house was being sold and he had no choice but to move. And apparently this was like the third time it happened. So since moving had become such an ongoing thing for him, he was sick of it.

He's like, I got to buy something. I can't keep getting pushed around under these rental situations. But buying something means I got to build it out. And I had, you know, I had some construction background. And so that ended up being one of those things. He didn't really have a budget to build out a new studio because, you know, he had been renting all this time. He had no intentions. He just got blindsided by this. Like, now I have to build a studio. That's not asking a lot. And we didn't have a budget for record. And there it was. And so, you know, I can build a studio and he can make a record. And so we make up. Hey, I hope too. Yeah, yeah. I was doing drywall, y'all. I was crying. I was like, this better work out. I swear. I'm pretty sure it was like literally that too. I was legit. Like, I don't know if y'all have ever done drywall. But it is not fun. It's, it's yeah. You have white stuff in your nostrils, in your hair.

I mean, it is disgusting. It's pretty solid though. I hate it. I hate dust. But anyway, I just tried to say that. But I just wanted y'all to know that I was up in there. Oh, she was rocking it. Put down some, she did some flooring and some drywalls. Yeah, come on. She did all the things. We probably have some really cool pictures of you and really goofy goggles. I'm sure that's fun to do. Yeah, I had like hippie pants on. I had tie-dye pants and like goggles on. Yeah. Just rocking it. Yeah. So, so I guess jump forward and we might even use this as a bit of a segue to some of this conversation we wanted to get to. But I guess the next point now that we're still telling you so much about us and trying to get everybody caught up is So Kelly made the comment about being pregnant. And so, man, there was another fun. When so now you got kids coming along in this industry, which, which for us was pretty wild because you know, it was like, how do you work that out? You know, like everything else.

It comes, man, you do your thing and if you're not where you're supposed to be, it's just going to become about impossible. And once again, I mean, the kids come along and we're just, we're navigating the industry with the kids like we're touring and got, I don't know how old writer was. We were playing a festival in Kentucky somewhere and they're like trying to keep him from pulling cords. Yeah, he was trying to pull the cords out. I was like, okay, maybe I'll bring the kids. Yeah, he's like unplugging the mics, which is funny. So that actually became a big thing for us for a long time was to now I'm really letting you know on the inside here. So we don't butt heads on very much. It works pretty well, I think together for doing this as a married couple. But I feel like the kids was maybe the one point where I'm like, we got a tour more. We have to be out there because I'm thinking make money. You know, we got to be out there making that money. We got to we got to step up the tour and so we had a couple really bad experiences with touring with the kids.

And it's like, you know, Tammy did it. She had all eight of them, you know, Tammy wanted. Yeah, I don't know how. Yeah, they were traveling in a station wagon with like six kids. Of course, that's when the kids get all just played games in the back at the station wagon. Yeah, and probably they like took care of each other. Oh, I'm sure. Yeah, that's a big part of it. But I feel like that was a big thing for us. Like if out of any things that we did deal with, like that might have been one of the bigger ones where it's like, I felt like we just got we got to be out there. We got to be out there. We got to be doing it. And I was like, I don't want to go out with the kids because like as a mom, I have like different. Like caps I put on like there's Kelly songwriter Kelly. There's getting on stage and performing Kelly. There's just like I'm having fun Kelly. And then there's mom Kelly and mom Kelly is a different, a different person. Like I have to be in mom mode and don't get me wrong. Like I have to still multitask and I do.

But like, I don't know. They just it's just hard for me to just do. I don't know. Maybe I'm completely wrong here. No, I don't think so. You're thinking like so standing on the stage and trying to be in entertainer mode. I'm thinking what is my kid doing? I'm looking at him running. But we know what they're doing. They're trying to unplug our microphones. Yeah, like that day stressed me out. I was like, this is no. Like writers literally trying to unplug everything. And not that we didn't like it's not that we just turned him loose. Yeah, we had help. Yeah, so I just realized it kind of sounds that way. Like, oh, we just get on stage and let the two year old run around the festival because that's great. And just letting him pull cords out. No, our friend Sarah had him shot out the Sarah and why it and why it was so young she was wearing them. But she's trying to take her two babies at once. Actually, America, our friend was out that day and she was carrying one. Well, that was Texas. That was Texas. Yeah, that was Texas. Okay. Yeah. She showed up for that one. Yeah. This which is funny because that kind of speaks to what we're saying.

It's like every time we don't know how to figure it out. It kind of figures itself out in a lot of ways. You know, we go and do that show in Texas and our friend America shows up and she's like, Hey, you need me to take the kids and it's like, you have no idea. Yeah. And it's like a mom's instinct. Like she's a mom. You know, I wanted to help and speaking of moms, we jumping on that segway here. We're just going to jump into this. So all right. Well, I'll tell you what, I'm going to do it like this a little bit. I think is. I'm not pregnant. No, no, no. That long awkward pause, everybody that knows is like, oh, here come. No, not pregnant. No, no breaking news. No, so I think, you know, as we're trying to get the audience caught up to speed on who we are, is everybody's getting the nose and we're, you know, new to the show. And trying to get everybody a feel for who we are. So I think what you'll find as we go along is obviously everyone has their thoughts and opinions on things.

We're all human, but we, you've probably, if you followed us so far and you've heard some of the things we said, we talk about like Dolly Parton, you know, before she passed, being kind of the, the, the poster child for knowing what it means to be an entertainer. And not interjecting her personal feelings too much into that. It's kind of like, you know, shut up and play your guitar. And to an extent, oh, we, yes, we, we're good with that. We agree. Like I'd love to just shut up and sing. But, but now we're talking. Now we're talking and we're talking about kids. So here's, here's an inevitable crossroad that we come to. And I think we don't want to lean in too much on this kind of stuff as the show goes along. And the friend the future shows too. I don't like we, part of what we were doing when we discussed this with Malcolm. And I think part of what he actually liked about the idea of the show is that we don't become a political show. We don't want to do that. Or any kind of opinion show or anything like that.

So at least beyond just as it specifically pertains to our household, maybe. That being said, we are still parents. We are still human and my Lord. Does everybody know what in the world has absolutely overtaken this country right now? And I feel like it'd be crazy for us not to have something to say about it. So, Lindsey Clancy, we have to go there at least a little bit. Man, ladies, ladies, ladies. Let's talk about this girl's. I'm just, it's just crazy. Like seeing all the people with their opinions and like at the end of the day, this woman admitted to this heinous crime of these three babies. You know, I understand that she had like mental stuff going on.

She had, you know, issues. The world was against her, the medical field. I'm sorry, though, like at the end of the day, you still, you still killed your children. The people that are defending her. It's just maddening. It's like crazy. I honestly believe it's demonic. I believe that that this is part of the enemy's plan. I mean, he came to destroy. He's a liar and a thief. And I was here and somebody talked the other day and they were saying that, you know, he wants to destroy before anything's even created. And what, like, what crazy way to take away that, then to kill like an innocent child that has their whole life in front of them. And, you know, I, I get feeling for her. Like I honestly, listening to her in the trial, when they were talking about what happened and describing it and she just lost it.

And she was crying and like having a panic attack. And I literally felt so bad for her in a way. Like I felt, I felt how she must be feeling that on such a level of just the reality of what she did. And at the same time, she caused it to happen and she deserves to feel that. And then like I see all of society like blaming her husband. Like somebody was posting about saying, you know, he wasn't there for her and he was a negligent husband. And I'm like, OK, even if he was, he didn't kill those kids. Some people are trying to sit like now. Here's where we go down to conspiracy roads. But some people are actually out there like accusing him, being like, oh, he did it and he's covering up. But it was all admitted though. So even her defenses and even suggesting any such thing.

Yeah, but it's like there's such a, like a whipping of the focus going on when really like she did this. The really what's what they're trying to decide is if she was of sound mind to to know if that like if she knew what happened. But then it's like, you know, if she can get away with this just because she says I wasn't mentally there. Like what is that set for the precedents for women in general? Like, you know, are we, are we so hormonal that we can't handle having kids and a life? And what about a career like women are running businesses, they're in politics. I mean, there's that's a really fun place to stop you. And I'll tell you what, we're going to come right back. We've hit our marker for this one. We're going to talk just a little bit more about this when we come back. So hang in there.

All right, welcome back to the wall you're talking about. I think we'll just jump right back into where we were. So I cut you off when you were you were railing on the ladies out there about hormones and careers and stuff. So I'm just I'm sitting back and hanging in just finish your thought. No, cutting off a woman, huh? All right. What was I thinking? The crimony. No, say the crimony. Crimony. Is that it? Is that the word? We're going to roll it. All right. Well, if it's not just let us know. Shakespeare made up what 600 and some more. I mean, you know. Yeah, but women, you know, we are awesome and we do like have a lot of great ideas and insight and stuff. But like, you know, I'll go back to how I said finding the Bible in the art change of my life.

Like I, I think the problem with society is that we're just making up what truth is. And, you know, women have a place in in things and so do men like women are good at things and men are good at things. And like, just because a woman is a woman and she has all these feelings and emotions and hormones. Like doesn't make it okay like that she did that wouldn't make it okay if a man did that. So why would it be okay if a woman did that? But, um, Troy was sending me like videos because I guess he's in this algorithm. And what not intentionally we were talking about like do so we were discussing do we even want to discuss this at all on the show. And it's like, you know, as artists know, um, as just general know we prefer not to talk about things like these but at the same time as parents it's like it's real to us. It's it shocks the court shocks the system and I think for me if it's even more than just the fact that it happened.

I mean, it's that for sure. Uh, but there's just this. The thought of how society is reacting and that's the society we have to bring our kids up in and that is the part of me that I feel like we can't avoid. And so that's where the idea came from for sending all these videos. I'm just like, we're like, okay, well, if we're going to talk about it, maybe we should learn a little more because again, we try not to be too caught up in these things. I knew it was happening. You can't not know what's happening. But I wasn't sitting around obsessing over this trial. I'm more or less just hearing on social media what people are saying. Just enough to be disgusted but not enough to really know anything. Yeah. And it's going to get bad before it gets good. And I also truly believe that, you know, the Lord's going to make good out of the most bad things. And as horrible as this is, I feel like it's kind of creating a wake-up situation for people because I mean, choice sent me this story after all this after the trial of what they end up saying it's.

It was actually a mistrial. So after the mistrile was announced, this woman was so obsessed with this mistrial that she went and killed her two year old. And this is what makes me go, politics, small attacks. This is a spiritual. You and your words today, my goodness. They're coming out, baby. A schmolotist, my goodness. I want to get that printed and hung on the wall. We should. But this is literally spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6, 12 says this is not blood and flesh that we wrestle against. So anyway, this woman is so invested in this whole thing that she literally goes home and kills her two year old and get this y'all. She's in the tub with her. So she she she killed that baby the two year old, a little boy, blesses her Lord. Oh my gosh. The neighbor who's like 17 finds her finds the child. Then he goes into the bathroom.

She's in the tub fully clothed, slitting her wrists holding her newborn baby, saying that she just murdered her two year old son because he's the antichrist. And she's in there slitting her wrist and it made me think in mark when Jesus came to the the one guy who had a demon and he was like cutting himself. Well, they said he was in the tombs cutting himself with stones. Yeah, like they it's self harm like and I was thinking like man is she so invested in this and there's a lot of women. Yes, yes, that like the spiritual entities involved in this are transferring to people that are so wrapped up in this. I mean, I it's unexplainable to me and I and as soon as Troy told me that I was like that's demonic. But but also like he was sending me other stuff and I was just like I was thinking of Jezebel in the Bible and she was like causing issues back in the old testament. But I made like a little list of like things that Jezebel did and then like the province 31 woman, which is like said to be what we should like try to be like.

But Jezebel uses influence towards idolatry manipulates deceives threatens uses authority for personal gain participates in injustice pursues what belongs to another leads people away from God brings destruction defiant towards God's judgment. And then the province 31 woman uses influence for good acts with integrity speaks wisdom shows strength works to provide for her household helps the needy and industrially builds what is hers fears the Lord brings good her characters worthy of praise like women are on like the Jezebel angle with this like this is so manipulative you're speaking broadly you mean in general. I mean for women to like any woman to like look at this case and go like I'm so invested in this in this lady who just killed her kids that she that she gets out of this well they like they do this go so that to me was actually the part that's that hit home.

Because they they raised like a million dollars on go fund me and they've got people like literally what yeah she made a she got a million dollars for what for attorney house. Yes and whatever else I guess you know but but it's like the I think the thing that that really just killed my core on this whole subject that I felt like okay we got to address this is because of like you were just suggesting speaking more broadly like this like this whole kind of Jezebel spirit kind of thought extrapolated out over society is it's become a wedge issue that just un I can't fathom it I really can't because first off all right I'm going to let this out of the bag you know I got my red neck shows up every once in a while I try not to do it too much but here's the fact of the matter when I heard enough detail about how it went down I was aware of a lot of you know a lot of the stuff that she was dealing with the medicines the doctors the looking for help I mean I'm I'm not even diminishing how hard she tried I do believe that's true but then it came down to the actual act and she

plotted to send her husband out to CVS and and for dinner to buy food she knew how long that was going to take she she was of sound enough mind to go through the process of planning this out knowing he didn't need to be like knowing he couldn't be at the house and pull it off so you had clarity enough to know he can't be here but not clarity enough to know I shouldn't be doing this and even if that is not the same thing I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do it. Even if that is true that's even fine I mean it's not fine in the sense of doing it but what I guess what I'm really trying to say is any compassion that I would have been tempted to have went completely out the window with the planning. Yeah the moment I realized and heard the story about how she can cock the scheme to get the husband out of the house and even down to the point of okay well how long is this going to take me like thinking through how much time she needs wasn't enough just to send him to CVS well I need to get dinner to so maybe if I'll you know getting getting to go to CVS and have to swing by a restaurant to pick up dinner bring home.

Because I needed that extra time I mean your brains working clear enough to you to think that through and I heard the testimony from one of the doctors that said you know she was here in voices but I wonder what they were well but here's the irony of it though he said that according to her testimony or at least the the council's version of the story is that this was the only time. No that didn't happen none before and none after and he said and the doctor had said that he's extremely skeptical of anyone using. I heard voices as a defense when it's never happened before and it hasn't happened after it's like it only happened the time you needed to happen. So she didn't have a record of you know she had lots and lots of she certainly had a long record of. Mental issues but the whole hearing voices thing apparently was only.

The moment that it like matter the moment that everything happened it was a it was a one off what did she say what the voices were saying I don't know I didn't follow with that close but I guess the point I was driving that I was. After beyond that and I guess this is why it's simpler for me and I made the joke about my red neck showing up the truth is beyond that I don't care anymore when you go through that kind of planning and that that's happened into kids. I'm out I'm just all the way out like I don't care anymore I did care up until. The planning and once I heard that I'm just I'm completely out I have no sympathy or empathy left in that situation and that's it period I don't care I simply do not care beyond that and so as far as she's concerned I'll leave it there because I honestly other than other than I'm just I'll openly admit there is no empathy and I could care less what her reasoning was and what her.

Attemptive defenses care less don't care unless I wasn't clear enough I just want to say one more time I don't care yeah I just looked up what she said she heard she said. The voice are pretty leased holder this is your last chance you have to kill your kids and then kill yourself yeah and that convenient anyway I know see like I said empathy gone but even even beyond that so what the one thing we were explaining but even if she did she wouldn't have to you don't have to listen to it. I I'll even give her that I don't even again you don't care I just don't care I really don't care if she was unable to listen she she obviously listen enough to get the old man out of the house long enough to get it done yeah that is a really good point because if she was a sound mind. To get him out of the house and plan even if it's not sound mind you're at least well yeah you might be crazy but you're at least capable of a thought process. You just proved to me that you're capable of thinking this through.

Because you thought through how to do it you obviously didn't think through how you didn't think through why not to do it but you certainly thought through how to do it which is really manipulative yeah and so again like I I don't even care how legitimate all of her. Mental issues are beyond that I simply do not care so but I don't want to keep repeating that but the reason I'm saying that is because here's what I do care about I do care about the societal implications not for the sake of this sounding like okay here's Carven walls taking their political stance on it okay now they they've grabbed aside on a wedge issue and blah blah blah now they're taking some. Political angle to something and it's not even that at all it's really not political shmere call. Now shmere call I want that one on the wall to. But but so my I think my problem is is the greater societal implications and this is the part that I feel like even as artists and I know you know shut up and saying I get it I want to I really do.

And I but I think the the issue is is that at some point we do stop being artists and we start being parents and I don't know how to explain to my six year old why people are out there justifying a parent kill in a kid because here's what I have to explain to my six year old and we don't give them enough credit. But here's what's really going through a six year old's head I have to imagine is so there's people out there that find it excusable for a parent to kill their kid. So if there's people grown ups authority out there that thinks that a parent could under any circumstance kill their kid what would I have to do for my parent to kill me what puts my head on the chop and block what do you think? What do you want to do what line could I cross for this to to be something the nightmare that I have to live.

I don't even know that they think of it that real like I want to believe that it's six years old all of these stories are just stories to him. And he's not wrapping his head around the reality but then I see signs from time to time that he's so much better at making sense of the world and I would expect a six year old to be I don't know if that's unique to him. Probably not everybody's kids are genius until they pick their nose and eat it. But I just first off I can't explain that to him in second off we shouldn't have to I don't want to even consider what it means to bring him up around people to even think that he's going to have to interact with people that can justify this like that is the society that we're like working in and I just don't for life. I know how to even get there in my mind just on my own level I don't know how to get there much less explaining to him but it terrifies me to think that as if there wasn't enough to dodge out there now we have to dodge psychosis like real genuine mass psychosis and I don't know what else to think it is.

I don't know that it could be called anything else and that's probably all I'm going to say about it because you know what I'm supposed to just sing and shut up right we need Jesus. Yeah I'm going to say. So we said we were going to touch on it because as parents we feel like we had to but you know what said enough I think we've said enough if you all have questions please submit them like we'll address things we'll dress whatever you want I mean we're an open book we're not trying to hide from any of these topics but at the end of the day we we're we're supposed to be the entertainment segment and we're happy to be that. And you know when things happen in the world we do write about it and that's a thing it's like I see now now that could happen you know maybe we'll end up writing a song about all this crap we don't that would be interesting yeah because we we're not we may not be the right kind of voices to come out and have some political stance I mean for the most part I don't know that we offer a whole lot in that department because it's not our wheelhouse but we sure write something about it by God.

Yeah we sure appreciate you guys sticking around with us through all all this brainstorming and and it got a little heavier today than we usually like and like we said you know we we do we do all we've always wanted the idea for this to be that we can kind of touch all the things we hope it can always be lighthearted when it can be as much as it can be like to touch on the music in the industry and do all those fun things but sometimes you know the faith family and they're going to be the best way to do it. In the industry all have to live together and so we appreciate you sticking it out with us through some of this hard conversation today and but sometimes we just need to get it off our chest I suppose so so there it is you got any final thoughts before we close out here Kelly. Um Rachel Babbles. I'm so serious. Hey we're going to make sure the next episode has a lot more fun and laughs in it but men walls are talking and y'all are listening.

Alright so check it out I just saw this thing the other day and it's really got me thinking. Oh here we go again I know what happens when you start thinking. What's that supposed to mean? Oh nothing don't want to tell me about it. You know what I just don't think I even want to. Oh that's too bad. Wait do you hear that? Shh. What? The walls are talking. The walls are talking. The walls are talking. The walls are talking.
