Do you want to give a quick shout out this morning to my friend, Big Winston, who I got a nice
text message from yesterday. He loved the video I put together. He did and he shared it and
wanted a copy of it. And then his wife, Tamika, from escape, shared it and she loved it. And then
Ralph Trezban loved it and shared it. And then Johnny Gill loved it and shared it. That
seems about right. And Tony Braxton's sister loved it and shared it. Wow. So you're just one of
the T.S. True story. True story. Okay. So you're just not one day. You're just not going to
even come back here. We're going to wonder where you are. I certainly didn't say these things
pay the bills. But they certainly take three hours of editing and make it worth it. They'll be like,
just come on the road with us. We'll figure out money. Oh my god, I would so do it. I know
we know that you would. I can still do the show. Sure for every morning. I'll be in a different city.
Well, that's the beauty of sound plus. You can do it for many tables. You're sitting at.
You can do it for me. Kitchen table. How about the kitchen table at new additions house?
Yeah. Oh my god. You can do it for that table.
Then I'm in charge of this. Yeah. I know. There's a hole. No, I got scared.
Yeah. Right. Right. And you should have a Fox News headlines today. Wait, I got a headline
for you first. Okay, go. I was not looking at my text messages for a while in a series of
texts from Warren came in. Well, I've been stuck in an elevator for 45 minutes.
Elevator repair can't make it. So the fire department's on the way. Next text. Now I've been here
for an hour and 15 minutes. I can hear guys talking about what to do for 15 minutes. I could
feel someone on top of the elevator. Me. I finally get them. Oh my god. Are you okay? Yeah,
I'm out now after an hour and a half. He's was in an elevator for an hour and a half.
Your boyfriend won in an elevator this morning while we're doing the show. It's just happened.
The first text came at 529. How did you not see that? You're always on the phone. You know what?
I am 100% focused. It's your laser focus all the time. Laser focus. You know, I don't
look at my phone during the show. That would be crazy. No, right. I don't yell at Jill
while we're doing the show. Oh my god. I look at videos that are posted four days ago and wonder
why I wasn't tagged. Right before we do a Fox local to be recording, I don't do things like.
All right. So here we go. What do we have? A lot of people say their favorite childhood foods
just don't taste the way they used to. From McDonald's fries to crap mac and cheese,
experts say recipe changes play a role, but nostalgia might also be raising expectations a little
too high. I believe that something you loved as a kid. Yeah. As an adult now, you may not go back
and enjoy it as much. Well, think of the snack wrap from McDonald's. I mean, when people
went wild over that when that came back and then they were like, yeah, it's not as good as I
remember to be. Yeah. Who's coming back to McDonald's fries and thinking these aren't the same
good fries? I don't know. They're pretty consistent. They never. Yeah. Yeah, they're pretty consistent.
I will tell you my favorite and cell snows is to like my favorite
fast food sandwich of my entire life was always the original chicken sandwich with cheese at Burger King.
Just ordered one made it for my work there on specialty board like for years. I will tell you,
I don't know if I'm older now, but when I get it, it's good, but it's not like, oh my god,
good the way I remembered it. Yeah, that's too bad. It's good. I'm saying it's just not like it used
to be I'd get up out of bed and go drive for it. Now I'm like, yeah. Yeah. I got a lot
over somewhere. You know? So anyway, there could be something to that. What else do we have?
Dietitians say you can eat fast food and still stay on track. If you're smart about it,
things like smaller portions, skipping heavy sauces and choosing items like grilled nuggets or
simple cheeseburger can make a big difference. Well, if I'm going out to fast food, I'm not doing
that. And also experts be quiet because grilled nuggets aren't a thing. So why don't you do
some research? I see a lot of influencers that go to Chick-fil-A and get the grilled. Oh,
they do have grilled nuggets, grilled nuggets, and then the kale salad. Well, nobody else. Okay,
so Chick-fil-A has who else does Buffalo Wild Wings. They have grilled that's not fast food.
Yeah. Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield delivers your first state of the city tonight, Mumford High
School. If you want to see that, our friends at Fox 2 remind you it's on Fox Local. You can watch
it. All right, there you go. There are some headlines. Oh, and the one I told you I would
tell you about today, do you know what a Midwest goodby is? Oh, yeah. Well, a Midwest goodby is when
a goodby does the opposite of like the J towers exit where I just leave it and don't, you know,
it's the opposite. Okay. The Midwest goodby is when a goodby takes absolutely forever.
Yep, because you're saying goodbye to everyone. It's mostly just lingering in the doorway,
resisting leftovers, hugging, promising to return, resisting leftovers again,
and just kind of lingering and not leaving. I think that's dead on the Midwest goodby. Yeah,
because we're very polite and we don't want to hurt people. That's how that's Jill trying to get
off the phone too. Like when her and my mom were upstairs while their apartments get remodeled,
so I was privy a lot to listening to Jill on the phone and I'd be like, just say goodbye and
hang up the phone. Right. She does not know how to hang up a phone. No, and I've been told that I
abruptly end calls and I know people. I have friends that don't know how to, don't know how to end
the conversation to make you feel awkward. Yeah. For ending the conversation. I know it's like,
we're all right. Okay. All right, but here's what you midwestern psycho.
You drop out mid conversation and just say, oh, gotta go and then like hang up. So that's not very
nice. Chelsea, your phone expectations from people are really like you of all people who have a
lot going on. I know. Should appreciate brevity. I think you should. Yeah. Like this will be Chelsea.
And it's this is long standing. This is over a decade now with Chelsea. If I'm driving into work
and her and I have talked on the phone on the drive about the show about whatever. Yeah. And we've
talked even a solid 10 minutes. Yeah. And I'm like, all right, I'll be there in a few minutes.
I'll talk to you then. She's like, okay. I mean, that Chelsea ends a phone conversation with,
okay. Or I'll be like, I'm pulling in. I haven't called my dad yet. I got to check him with him.
Okay. I mean, I'm like, like, it's never like, okay. Why don't you switch your morning phone calls
to me because I would have already been off. I would hung up in the middle of that sentence.
Well, you'd have to be in the car when I'm on. Oh, and I'd also have to see that you were calling
to answer it. You have to be up at that time. And how dare you say that I say that about your dad.
Hey, it can be anybody. Please anybody. She's on the phone with Cody and Rhonda every day. I know.
Why don't you get some work done and get off the phone, Charles.
