Three in the morning. We have an Alice in the morning. I think the random stuff that feels like you're there with them. Good morning. Wake up with them every morning. I wake up with them. I love it because they can get away with more jokes in the morning than they would later in the day. One, oh one. One, oh one. One, oh one. And Alice in mornings. You made it to Friday, Eve, September 10th, 2026. We are out of the Allison. And we're here to hang out with you. 6-0-1, 995-1017 if you want to call or text us, let us know what you're up to. Allison, how are you? A feeling a little sad this morning. Why are you sad? So a truck pulled out in front of me this morning of a pickup truck. And I saw it had an antique license plate. Oh, okay. I like saying this is an antique vehicle. Okay. It was the exact car that I learned to drive in. It was an F-150 circle like 2002, 2003. Yeah. And I was like, not that can't qualify to be an antique vehicle.
Like, why are you calling me old? This early in the morning, that's so rude. That's hilarious. You learned to drive on a car that is now considered an antique. Yeah. Well, don't feel too bad because my family makes fun of me all the time for my brand new 2008 camera that I drive. Like my dad said to me the other day, he's like, that thing, you're going to get classic tags soon. Like that thing is going to be old enough to be considered an antique. Yeah, truly, like you're not that far behind. I know. Because this truck had to have been like 2002, 2003. And so like in 2008, it's only five years behind that. So you learned to drive in a truck? I don't think I knew that about you. Yeah. Well, I learned on quite a few different vehicles. Okay. The first one was an F-150. And then my dad traded that in for a stick shift Honda cord. And that's what I finished learning how to drive on. Do you think you could drive a stick shift today? No. Not even close. Oh, see, I think I think it'd be like riding a bike.
I don't think I could get back into it. But how long did you drive your stick shift for? So I got my license whenever I was 17. I had the Purple Chevy S10. 1993 is what I learned to drive on. Guarantee you got a lot of ladies with that car. Oh, man. I was, I had to beat them off of me with a stick. Yeah. Absolutely. That thing was a magnet. I drove that for probably a couple of years after that. See, I learned on the stick shift for like a few months, maybe six months. I was driving that thing. And then I was like, I don't want to drive this anymore. And so then I got my mom's old car, which was automatic. No. So yeah, I don't think I would be able to maneuver a stick shift. So we've got a lot to do on the show today. It's Thursday. So that means it's a DM to Lema Day. It's at 755, cash in a flash, 740. But before that, we're asking AI. What are we asking AI about today? Can you test your boyfriend to see if he is educationally compatible with you?
We're going to find out at 720, but we're officially starting the show right now with the Why Not song of the day. And I picked kind of a wild one today. Because why not? Well, the reason for Nirvana spells like Team Spirit, it was announced that MTV will honor Nirvana with a video Vanguard award at this year's VMAs. All but no Kirko Bane. Thanks a lot, Courtney Love. It's Y101, Adam and Allison. No, no, no. No, it's second biggest song of the Summer Taylor Swift on Y101. Adam and Allison, Morning Jerry, Zach and Hannah, all up early and texting us. You can't do 601-995-1017. Let us know what you're up to. And we're going to let you know what the national days are right now. But to celebrate today, every day is a holiday. It feels good to celebrate its national school picture day today. Oh, was school pictures a good or a bad thing for you? Did you look forward to it or was it like a dreadful experience? It was a little combination of both. Like I was always stressed about it because I mean that's going to be the photo that
marks that school year so the pressure is on. But also like it was fun picking out the outfit that you wanted to do and all that stuff. Oh, I hated it. I hate getting my picture taken. I really do. It's like snap the damn thing and be done with it at this point. It's national swap ideas day. Oh, that's good. Do you have a go-to person that you like swapping ideas with? I mean, that may be strong, but I feel like for this job, obviously it's very good if we swap ideas. It would be very bad if we didn't like swapping ideas with each other. We wouldn't work very well together. Right. That's the case. So I think it has to be you. Yeah. Yeah. I also like swapping ideas with like other people that maybe don't necessarily work in this building, but like I'm radio friends with. Oh, absolutely. But sometimes that gives me anxiety because I feel like their ideas are way better than mine. So I feel like I'm like stealing a lot and not really holding up my end of the bar
you guys will. Well, as long as they still want to be my friend, I'm okay with stealing all their ideas. And finally, it is National TV dinner day today. Oh my gosh. You like a TV dinner? Does anybody actually like it of a frozen, like hungry man? That's what I think of whenever I think TV dinner. See, I always think kid cuisine because the last time I had a TV dinner, it was a kid cuisine, and I loved kid cuisine night. I don't know if it was that I actually liked the plasticky tasting food of a kid cuisine or the fact that that meant that we were going to get the TV trays out and we were actually going to watch TV watch something while we were eating like that was such a treat growing up. I always feel like TV dinners are like such a let down. The picture on the box looks so good. Like a couple weeks ago, I got some like like shrimp tied chili curry or whatever frozen TV dinner kind of style. And I was thinking it was going to be so good. I heated it up.
It was gross. It was terrible. I went to microlafe shrimp. I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea, but I genuinely did. I would love to hear from you. If you do genuinely like TV dinners, I just think nobody actually does. Like who wants a Salisbury steak with corn mixed into the potatoes. Yeah, it's gross. 6-0195-1017 is there actually a good TV dinner out there? I would love to know what you like TV dinner wise. I'm Alan and Allison. I'm Y101. Talking to TV dinners on Y101, it's Adam and Allison and we're celebrating National TV Dinner Day. Matthew says chicken pot pie is pretty good. I'm not a fan of chicken pot pie. It kind of makes me angry because I'd like once a year, I'll get myself a frozen chicken pot pie and I'll think it's going to be the greatest thing ever. Every single time I hate it. And I don't know why I keep buying it, but Matthew likes it. No, that's crazy.
I love a, I'm sad I can't have a chicken pot pie. That makes me want to go to the fresh market after work today where they have a beef pot pie because I love, I love a pot pie. Maddie says the only TV dinners I eat now are the Marie calendar dinners. They're so good. Yeah, and Marie calendar is speaking of chicken pot pies. They do a great chicken pot pie. Yeah. Well, I guess if you're in the chicken pot pie, then absolutely. What was the TV dinner that you said that you eat? I used to love a lean cuisine. I went through a whole phase in college where that was my go to because I felt like, oh, I'm being so healthy, but also like it tastes good. Like you could get the fetish, chenial fritos and the like marinara sauce. It was so good. I dabbled in lean cuisine myself. Yeah, you did. Yeah, yeah, I have, but my issue was I was thinking it would be like a normal portion of food. It's like a tiny little bit of food. Yeah. One day I ate three lean cuisines. No, it's like totally screwed the whole point of it.
You can't do that. No, and I used to love getting the pizzas, but they truly were. They were so small. Like it was literally like four bites of pizza. Oh, it's a national TV dinner day. Celebrate that. It's why 101, we are out of the Allison and a $20,000 iPhone. Did you see the iPhone got unveiled yesterday? $20,000? I'll tell you about it next. I can't move. I'm an Allison on why 101, the first foldable iPhone was revealed yesterday. I've seen it. Well, I've seen it online, not in person. Are you excited about this? Are you going to order one immediately? No. No. For two reasons. One is it's not the fold I want. I want the nostalgic flip phone to fold. I don't want it to fold. What would that be? First style. I want it to fold hotdog or rice. I don't know. I want it to fold like a flip flown, not like a booklet. Yeah, that's how it folds. It folds and opens like a book. Yes. It's going to have a 7.6 inch display.
The internal screen is 50% larger than the iPhone Pro Max and the outside screen can still be used when the phone is folded. Apple says users can run two apps side by side. That's very exciting, right? It is exciting. Also, something that I'm just now thinking about. Imagine how many times you're laying in bed, doomed scrolling and you drop your phone on your face and it hurts so bad. Imagine dropping what is now basically one and a half times the weight of your phone. It's going to feel like a dumbbell hitting your face. Well, the phone is going to start at 1,999. Oh my gosh. It will be available on October 23rd. You'll be able to pre-order it starting October 16th. But for a nominal fee of $20,000, you can get the upgraded luxury version of the iPhone. This company is called Kaviar and they specialize in phone upgrades. Okay. So the $20,000 version, it's going to be the liquid metal addition iPhone Ultra.
It's got solid sterling silver back with a 3D wave pattern that shines like liquid metal. That is not worth $20,000 to me. Like you could get a car for $20,000. You could get two cars if you're doing your shopping right. I don't want to spend that much money on a phone. So here's something interesting about this $20,000 iPhone because the silver blocks radio signals, the device is not going to be able to be charged wirelessly or used with MagSafe. Good. So yeah, that's exactly what I want with my phone that I spent $20,000 that I don't have for. Yeah, like just make it less convenient, please. The more thousands on it, the less stuff it can do. Sign me up. I can't even imagine whenever I went to Lubbock over the long weekend, the hotel for some reason I could not get my phone to charge with the traditional charger. I brought just a plug-in charger.
I didn't bring my MagSafe. Uh-huh. So I was worried I would lose it. But luckily the phone or the hotel had a MagSafe charger that you could lay your phone on. So that's how I charged my phone while I was there. I would have not had a workable phone if I would have spent this $20,000 on a phone that wasn't MagSafe compatible. And then the plug-in charger is not working. I would have been in quite the pickle. After I'd spent $20,000. $20,000. Yeah, yeah. It's why I want to want it out of the Nallison. And next on the show, it's the good vibe. It's a good vibe. It's a good vibe. It's a good vibe. It's a good vibe. It's a good vibe. It's a good vibe. It's a good vibe. So if you have good news, something good happening in your life, could you share it with us? 601-995-1017, you can call or text the show. To get on the good vibe tribe, if it's making you smile, it counts. We do the good vibe tribe next. Adam and Allison, on Why 101? Sparks for flying at a City Council meeting. I'll tell you the story coming up. What matters to the Metro less than 10 minutes away.
But right now we got to do good vibes in the good vibe tribe on Why 101. We are Adam and Allison. So whatever you're feeling good about, let us know. 601-995-1017 and Allison, what's happening in the community? So in term that I had never heard before living in Mississippi was food desert, which is something that affects a lot of our state of people who don't have access to fresh produce, a local grocery store. And it even affects people as close as South Jackson. Like it's in the Metro. And there's one company that is looking to fix that. They are investing in a lot of the vacant commercial properties around the Metro. They're planning on building a warehouse that's going to have all the food. And then they're planning on building a bunch of grocery stores as well. Like one place that they've already got is roses, the old roses building, off Terry Road. And South Jackson has been vacant for years. So yeah, they are coming in. They want to bring jobs to the Metro. And they also want to make sure that we all have access to fresh produce.
That's awesome. Love hearing that. My good vibes yesterday. I had said I might be getting oysters and I sure sure did. I got oysters yesterday on a half sell. Got a dozen of them. Delicious. Such good oysters yesterday. Loved it. And I it's always kind of a roll of the dice with the oysters. I feel like I feel like I'm just destined to get sick one day. But I'm not sick. So I worked out. I worked out. You think goodness. Yeah, I would not want to be around you if you were sick for voice or sad sounds like a bummer. My good vibes are yesterday and picked up a dog. Seely from boarding him during my trip. And he was so like happy to see me, but in the calmest way possible. I think he was just sick of all the dogs barking at him and all that stuff because he was so snugly all yesterday. He hardly made a peep even though people were knocking on doors in the apartment building. It was precious. 6-0-1-995-1017. What are your good vibes? We'll start with Zach.
You said, hey, can you all get a shout out to my girlfriend Britt today? Oh. Just give her good vibes since we're going to have a good day and see the Lion King play up here. Yeah. She loves plays. So that's awesome. Shout out to girlfriend Britt today. Loved that. Shunderson in a picture goodbye, but she is snuggling her new grandbaby and says, look how I have spent my morning. Christine has good vibes because we're just two days away from going to the coast for the seafood festival. That sounds great speaking of seafood, noisters and everything. Yeah, I wonder if she's going to get some oysters at the seafood festival. You should. We're happy pre-Friday motivation from Jonas Singh. Success has built one choice at a time. Choose optimism, choose gratitude and choose to give your best effort today. Great things are ahead. Have a great day. Good vibe, Tribe. We will do our best to have a great day. And hopefully the good vibe tribe helps with that a little bit.
Yeah. It is Y-101. We are out of an Allison. And after Ella Langley will get you the info. You need to start today what matters to the Metro less than four minutes away. Who's on Instagram? For the first time ever, tell you coming up what matters to the Metro. It's Y-101, Adam and Allison. Before we get into that, some funny audio for you. Do you think you would be able to be trusted with a walkie talkie if that was part of your job? Probably not. I don't think I could either. I think I'd be saying inappropriate things on that. But that was the case for a Walmart worker who creeped out a customer in the bathroom. I first started working at Walmart. I used to overthink everything I said on the walkie talkie. But now I feel like the pendulum is maybe swung a little too far in the opposite direction. Like the other day somebody heard my voice on the radio and they said, Oh, is that Jonathan? And I said, well, hello there, which is already kind of weird. But what's even weirder is that I happen to say it right as I walked into the bathroom. And the bathroom is empty except for one guy in one stall.
Put yourself in that guy's shoes. The last thing you want is to hear a guy walk in and go, well, hello there. Because his first thought is going to be, oh, he's just being a goof on the radio. You know, he thinks he's about to come face to face with crack the ripper. So be careful with your walkie talkie. Oh my gosh. You got one of those for work. Now what matters to the Metro, powered by McDonald's looking to switch up your usual drink order, head to your local McDonald's to try one of the all new McCaff A drinks. President Donald Trump says he had a great conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin and believes Putin wants a deal to end the war in Ukraine. Trump spoke about the Tuesday phone call while talking to reporters yesterday saying an agreement could happen if Ukrainian president Voldemort Zelensky also wants to make a deal. He blamed the lack of progress largely on the personal hatred between Putin and Zelensky. Speaking of some strong words in hatred, things were heated at a Jackson City Council meeting over a proposal
to rename part of Wood Street after Jackson State Band Director Dr. Roderick Little. Councilman Brian Grisel said that little didn't actually want the street renamed and then Councilman Kenneth Stokes disagreed and accused him of lying. That's one of the things got personal. Stokes struck back and called Grisel, you a damn lie. He kept saying that back and forth and the proposal was eventually pulled from the agenda. So they can't I think it is so stupid that people like even have an opinion who gives a rip what they call the street. That's hilarious and it makes me feel like this drama is going to continue because I know in the previous meeting they were talking about Prado Khan the convention center coming. And somebody called somebody else Kim Jong-un. They're like you're being a dictator. It's craziness. It is so much drama in the city council and for what? But I love it.
I do love it. I am grateful for it. And finally, Jennifer Lawrence has joined Instagram as at J-Law after years of avoiding having a public social media account. The actress is following 45 accounts including friends and collaborators like members of the Kardashian family, martin Spursazy, Kiki Palmer and more. Her bio pointed fun at her new username writing Jennifer Lawrence was taken. I can't believe J-Law wasn't taken. That's a good point. Yeah. I'm missing out. I could have started off insta and been J-Law. I think about how much money. I know. But I wonder if she paid somebody to get J-Law. No, because surely she would have paid the get Jennifer Lawrence. Yeah, that's a good point. Anyway, coming up next on the show, speaking of Instagram, is it okay to post a picture of somebody without asking permission? We need to discuss next.
Home of cash in a flash, the good five tribe and the DM dilemma. Adam and Allison. Only in the morning on Y101. We've got a pretty exciting concert announcement coming up at around 810 this morning. We'll tell you about a huge Y101 artist and where you'll be able to see them. That's in a little while. Adam and Allison on Y101. I've been over her to conversation yesterday between two women, whenever I was having lunch, eat my oysters and everything. And one was so mad at another one of their mutual friends for posting something online, posting a picture that she was in online and didn't ask for permission first. Ground women. Ground women. Ground women were having this conversation. Absolutely. Oh, okay. You do think you need to ask permission before posting a picture of somebody online, 601 995 1017.
No, I figured this had to be like a teenager. No. So that we're having this conversation because like hello millennials, we grew up in the era where whenever we were going out in our early 20s, you would post 170 unedited photos from the night before. Like you just plugged in your digital camera and you just said send on every single photo. And what would happen to me a lot of the time was you would wake up tagged in a bunch of those photos. I don't want to be tagged in those photos, but you know, I wouldn't text my friend and be like, hey, untag me. I would just untag myself. I wasn't mad that they posted the photo because I was posting my own photos from that night. I don't care if you think you look good. I wanted to show that I was having a good time. Why are we worried if somebody else posted photo of you? Why are you that obsessed with yourself? Oh, because it's 2026. I don't know, 601 995 1017. Do you have any feelings on this posting pictures of somebody without asking permission first? But I'm in your camp, Allison.
I assume if I'm posing for a picture with somebody, that the only reason that that picture is being taken is to put online. Even if I'm not posing and I happen to be in a candid shot, if somebody is around clearly taking photos with their phone with a camera and it gets posted, I'm not going to reach out to somebody and be like, you need to take that photo down because I wasn't prepared for that to be on the internet like too bad. 601 995 1017 is our phone number. If you have thoughts on whether or not it should be required to gain consent before posting a picture of somebody on Instagram or Facebook, 601 995 1017 is our phone number. You can call or text us if you have an opinion about this. It's why 101 out of an Allison. Got a analysis on why 101. Do you think you need to ask permission before posting someone's picture on social media? Yes or no?
601 995 1017 couldn't believe that the conversation I overheard yesterday all about these two women complaining about a third woman who posted a picture of one of them that they didn't get permission for. That's literally insane. Well, I don't know. I thought it was insane too, but now I'm looking at our text line. It's 601 995 1017. Jesse says, yes, you need to ask. I did a lot of undercover work for years and didn't want my photo out there. Okay, that's a little different than like, oh, I look a little pudgy in that photo. Why would she post that? Someone else says some people don't do social media and don't want to be on it. I know some. If that's the case, then the friend should know that and shouldn't have done it. If the friend is on social media, it sounds like she just didn't like the picture of her and didn't want it out there because she didn't think she looked good in it. Yeah, and that's kind of where I have beef with it, but I still have a little bit of beef. Like if you have the expectation that you're not going to be on social media at all because you don't do it, that's unrealistic.
Like if you go to an event where there's a photographer, chances are you're going to be in one of the photos that ends up online. It's just not a realistic expectation in 2026. Jackie texted and said, my sister took a photo of me right after giving birth and I had the worst double chin and she didn't ask the post it. It's still up. I don't care now, but I used to. And Ash says, I have family members that don't like to be posted on social media. So either I don't take their picks or I ask them if I can post it's true for my aunt and my dad. Yeah, I don't know. I just I feel like in 2026 if somebody's taking my picture, it's going online. Right. So I don't know. Like even every single apartment I've rented in the last 10 years, I have to sign a photo release that they're allowed to. Like if I go to the clubhouse and they're having an event and they're taking photos, there's a chance I'm going to end up on their social media or website. It just happens. Yeah, this conversation kind of reminds me of whenever I was working in Ohio,
or like the boss of the radio station was very self obsessed. She was awful. But we'd take group pictures all the time. It was like quarterly. We'd have to take station group pictures and it would take forever because Nicolina had to look perfect. But then like the guys on the station wouldn't really have a say in what picture got used. Like she'd post a picture where she was looking great and then we'd all look like ogres and some mess. So I want to ask an ask AI coming up at 720 also cash and a flash 740. And after Zara Larsen AI is going to kill us all. Adder an Allison on why 101 you can follow along with the show and we'd appreciate it if you did 80 AM and Al LIS O N on Instagram. Follow us and we'll follow you back. That's our guarantee. Yes, we're the only ones who have that fall back guarantee. It's patented. Yeah. Trademarked. We made it up.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about how AI is going to kill us. Oh my gosh. And quick too by the end of the decade. There's one person who thinks AI is going to wipe us all out. Great. Jacob Coxen resigned his position working with open AI and anthropic and he left a skating critique when it comes to the safety of what we all know is coming. The open letter posted on X called out those building artificial intelligence systems who says, quote, earnestly believe it could kill us all by the end of the decade, but continue to build them anyway. He went on to say that executives and senior researchers will coach their phrasing to the press to sound sensible. But he says he's heard those same people express fear privately. Do you think that that's a problem? Um, I mean, it is a problem if the people who are creating like the people behind chat to BT and clawed and all that stuff if their real intentions are that they want to kill everybody.
And they want to be the only ones left on earth. It's like, you know, 10 billionaires who are left and everybody else is dead. Yeah. Like that's problematic. I'm not sure why you would want it because like how do you expect to maintain being a billionaire status if you kill us kill off all your work or beat? Exactly. Somebody's going to make you the money. Right. So I, it doesn't really make sense to me, but also like that's way above my pay great. If that is, if that is the plan, I guess like it's going to be a great four years. Well, it doesn't sound like it would necessarily be the plan per se, but it does, it sounds like they're like, oh, this could happen. And we're not going to stop it. It's stopping. Well, I mean, yeah, if it's unintentional consequences of their actions, that also is like you should be, if you're a billionaire, if you're one of these tech gurus, whatever, you think you'd be smart enough to be like, that wouldn't be good for me.
What could I do to remedy this? Yeah. Instead of being like, if it happens, it happens. Well, I have a good four years and then I'll figure it out because I'll still be a billionaire. I don't know. It just seems crazy. It does seem like the scene out of a movie, like some kind of sci-fi horror movie. 100%. But the whole like debut of AI, like at least in its form now where we can just go to it and be like, I'm having a bad day at work. Help me. I feel like that already feels like one of those end of the world movies. Yeah. Coming up next on this show, speaking of AI, Jason just texted, how do we know you're not AI? Jason, there would be way less mistakes on the show if I was not, if I was AI, I promise you. Also, we learned yesterday that AI cannot sound like a baby. Can you sound like a baby? There you go. Speaking of AI, we're asking AI next.
What are we asking about Allison? We are having AI deal boyfriend test because this is a TikTok trend where people are testing if their boyfriend's are intellectually compatible. But I think the test leaves a lot to be desired. Can AI fill in the gaps? We're going to find out next. Adam and Allison in the morning on Y101. Adam and Allison on Y101. On Thursday mornings at around 720, we ask AI, so let's kick it off right now. AI means artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence taking over? Yes, like artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence. It's possible. The most advanced artificial intelligence in existence. There's a new TikTok trend called the literate boyfriend test where women are showing words to their boyfriends and having them pronounce it. Like, will they say a pitame or will they say epitome? What about hyperbolt?
Right. Will they say fobbar? Will they say foxy poxy? So I was like, that's great, but that only covers some of the basis. Like pronunciation and we are words, can AI fill in the gaps for this literate boyfriend test? And Adam, I feel like you can be our guinea pigs. Okay. We can put you to the test. Let's do it. So what does hypothetical mean? Not in reality. Really? It's like just a... It's hard to define. It's really hard to define. Well, today a great answer, but you were close. AI says as long as they answer something like something imagined or a suit. Yeah. So let's take a considering of possibility. All right. Let's ask you a basic adult knowledge question. What's a 401k? Oh, retirement savings account. Okay. That's not quite enough. It is a retirement savings account through your employer where you can put money from your paycheck towards retirement.
I have one of those. Well, you should know more about it. Okay. So here's just a little basic test for you. If there are 23 people in a room, is it more or less than 50% chance that two people share a birthday? How the hell am I supposed to know that? Less. Less. More than 50%. What? That's a stupid one. How would I know that? How would anybody know that? And finally, can you spot BS? True or false? Humans only use 10% of their brains. Pass. No, that's false, right? Yes, yes. All right, let's see. You did okay. All right. So I think you're somewhat dateable, but if you were going to try to date someone who is really smart, you're probably not smart enough for them based on this AI, a literate boyfriend test. Well, also somebody who's really smart isn't going to want to date me. No worries there. But dumb girls slide into my DMs now.
If you two were stumped by those questions, if you two don't know what a 401k is, slide into Adam's DMs. Adam Radio 101 on Instagram. You're not going to have to say anything. Whatever. That's why 101. What else do you, is there anything else that you would test a potential date on? You can text a 601-995-1017. Do you have a go-to thing that you're like, okay, if they can answer this question, I'm going to date. What is it, text us? I knew it. Adam and Allison on Y101, it's almost time for you to win $200. We'll play cash in a flash in the next 10 or 15 minutes or so. So hopefully you can just keep hanging out with us. And I also wanted to tell you this wild story about a blind guy who got arrested for doing something well drunk. Oh, oopsie. Okay, so he's blind. He's drunk. And he was driving a car. What? I have no idea how this guy did it, but he drove 150 miles.
Oh, boy. He's blind. Oh, boy. He took his partner's car and just went out for a joy ride. Anthony Hall is 50 years old and he doesn't have a driver's license. He was stopped by police and he was seen swerving his car between lanes and onto the hard shoulder. He told police that he had driven from his home 150 miles away after he and his partner drank four bottles of wine. Oh. I know they make the bottle so small, but for his a lot. Yeah, that's the heck of a lot. Um, he admitted charges, including dangerous driving at a previous hearing and he was sentenced on Tuesday to 36 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months. He had also admitted drunk driving driving without a license or insurance and taking a car without consent. I still need to know how this blind guy drove 150 miles before anybody caught him.
Yeah, I mean, getting in the car, starting to drive down the road and like he's fine. And then he gets up to 150 miles per hour, still somewhat fine. And it's just like, oh, he's speeding. No, he wasn't driving 150 miles per hour. He drove 150 miles. Oh, oh, my gosh. Yeah. Oh, I totally misunderstood that. That's like, I mean, driving 150 miles an hour is pretty impressive too. But driving for 150 miles also crazy before anyone's like, hmm, something drunk and blind. Yeah, 150 miles. Oh, my gosh. I mean, that's, that's what from here to Baluxy. Something like that. I don't, I'm not very good at that type of stuff, but yeah, it's a lot of ways. It's out of town. I know that. Oh, that is wild, wild story there. Oh, coming up next, cash in a flash. You could win $200. Don't move. Man, Allison in the morning. On Y101. It is time for your Mississippi lottery update, Lotto America.
Adam and Allison are about to quiz you for cash. Y101's cash in a flash. Oh, my God. Hey, Valerie. Thanks for calling. What are you up to? We are on the way to school. And the kids listen every morning. Oh, well, thank the kids for us. That's so awesome. Yay. What school do you go? Guys go to. I got a truck County. Very cool. Tell us what you're looking forward to this weekend. Do you have any fun plans? Oh, guys, we have football. What else, guys? Birthday party. Nice. Sounds like a fun weekend. Let's get you some free money. $200 on the line. If you don't know an answer, just say pass, okay? Okay. In three, two, one. What roller skating fast food chain teamed up with NFL players for a $7 big meal deal? What state was the Battle of Gettysburg fought in?
No. Someone who's a literate cannot do what? Abit Elementary is the school on what sitcom? Oh my gosh. Y'all, what is this? Abit Elementary. Oh, I can't remember. Name the ABC late-night host whose show will reportedly end after next season. Oh my gosh, what is that cosmonaut? Y'all, you're not helping me. Come on, y'all listen every day. Yes. Pass. Before getting popular in Japan and renamed, what puzzle was known as number place? Oh my gosh, we are doing terrible. Broke Hugh listen yesterday. Come on, I know these are questions for me. These are the questions. Pass. Wait, I'm so sorry. Time. All right, Mallory. So terrible. Oh, we run through these all really quickly.
So it's actually Sonic that has teamed up with NFL players for a $7 big meal deal. It's Pennsylvania, the state where the Battle of Gettysburg was fought in. We didn't get this though. We would have accepted read or write of someone who's a literate cannot do what? Abit Elementary is the sitcom that features the school Abit Elementary. It is Jimmy Kimmel, who is the ABC late night host who show reportedly end after next season. And before it got this name, it was called number place. That is Sedoku. So we're still walking away with $10. We're just not nothing. Okay, we'll take it. Yeah, yeah, what are you going to do with the 10 bucks? Oh, I'm sure they're going to take us to let's go to the ice cream shop. Oh, I love it. What flavors? What flavor? Fat? Fat or taste? All right.
Well, thank you for playing. Thank you so much. We're going to play again tomorrow morning and tomorrow will be a very special edition because it's cash in a flashback Friday. All repeat questions from the week that was and there's only four days to choose from because, uh, yeah, we were off on Monday. Yes, everyone was off on Monday. I was off on Tuesday, but you still didn't cash in a flash. Yes. So just just just the just three days I did bad math there. Normally it's four days. Gosh dang. You would not do well on cash in a flash. No, definitely not. But if you want to study for cash in a flash back Friday, you can text pod POD to 601 995 10117 or search out of an Allison. Wherever you listen to podcasts, it is Thursday morning. So we have a brand new D M dilemma work friend. One has a situation that she needs your advice on it. D M dilemma next. Come on. Adam and Allison in the morning on Jackson's number one hit music station.
Why 101? Yeah, forget in through the scenario and you're not sure what to do next. Hello. DMS on Instagram, ADAN and LLISOM. We may feature you on a DMS dilemma like we are for a work friend Wanda. She writes, I work really closely with one of my co-workers and over the last couple years, he's become the person I depend on most at work. We help each other constantly eat lunch together most days and have become good friends outside the office too. But lately I'm starting to think he may be developing feelings for me. Mostly from little comments he's making and how much more attention he's been giving me. He hasn't actually crossed a line or said anything directly. So telling him I'm not interested feels presumptuous and could make things awkward all by itself. At the same time, I really need to nip this in the bud because I don't want him thinking that this is going somewhere. I don't know if I'd want to keep working there if we couldn't be friends.
How do I make it clear that I only see him as a friend without ruining the friendship? I'm trying to save 601 995 101 7. What you think Allison? It might blow up the friendship, but I think you have to be honest because you have built a real friendship. You do know this person really well. So if they value your friendship in the way that you value theirs, they'll... It might be awkward for a minute, but they'll understand it. They'll be able to take it on the chin and you guys can move forward as just friends. So how would you do that though? Like, would you just say, hey, I'm not interested. Well, I would just say, hey, I've noticed you're giving me a little more attention and I just want to make this clear. Like, I just want to be friends in this relationship. I don't have any romantic feelings. I don't want this to go in that direction. I want to make sure we're on the same page. I think Wanda's being real presumptuous. I think she nailed it. I don't... Like, I would need to know what he's actually saying that's making you think he wants to be more than friends.
Because to me, it feels very presumptuous and you might ruin... Like, if I'm best friends with a female at work and then randomly she says, hey, not interested in you romantically. And I wasn't interested in her romantically. I don't know that I'd want to be friends with that person anymore. Okay, well, we've worked together a long time. I would say we're really close friends. Absolutely. If something in our dynamic change and I was like, oh, I think Adam might be catching feelings, I would think it would be my responsibility to say, hey, like, if you're catching feelings, I just want to make sure that's not what's happening because I don't feel the same way and I don't want this to affect our friendship. And I would hate it if you were like, wow, that's so presumptuous of you. I can't be your friend anymore. But how would you feel if I said, yeah, you guessed wrong there, sister. Well, I... Because we're friends, I would be able to be like, okay, like, I was preemptively rejecting you. So if you want to throw that back in my face, I should be able to handle that.
I think that what Wanda should really do to avoid being presumptuous, just start openly talking about guys that you're interested in that are not him. That will not work. Why not? I have tried that with a guy friend. I suspected he started out feelings with me and I was telling him all about this crush, the house boy, Joey, and how I really wanted to hang out with Joey. And like, what advice do you have for me with Joey? And the next thing you know, he's inviting me to the movies with his friends. Like, it was a big group of people. I wasn't like, I was thinking I was going on a date and he tries putting his hand on my leg. I'm like, ew, no, I'm interested in Joey. Alright, what should Wanda do? She's got this work friend. It's her bestie. But definitely not interested in him. 601-995-1017. What should Wanda do? Let us know your advice. Call or text the show. It's the DM dilemma on why Wanda won. I don't want to be a no sit. Adam and Allison on why Wanda wanted to DM the Lema day. Work friend Wanda has developed a friendship, a very close friendship with the guy she works
with over the last couple years. Now, she feels like his feelings are turning towards more romantic than just friendship. And she wants to know, can she let him know that is absolutely not going to happen. I think that would be presumptuous. I think the move would be to start talking about people you actually want to date with this close guy friend of yours. I don't think that's going to change anything. Then he's just going to feel like, oh, she likes me enough to tell me about her crushes. She must have a crush on me, even though she's not saying that. I don't know. If this guy's anything like me, he won't do that. Alright. Because if a girl's talking to me about the dudes that she likes, I think that that is like pretty obvious that she's not interested in me. But that's just how my brain works. What do you think Wanda should do? 601-995-1017? You can call or text the show with your advice. Jennifer doesn't agree with either of us. She says, I'm so sorry to tell you this, but he is not your friend and maybe he never was.
How could she say that? That doesn't make sense to me. And she must have had a bad experience with a crush. Yeah, because it seems like, it seems like this guy is perfectly fine. She even said to NRDM Wanda did that there were no lines crossed. Nothing, he hasn't made really any comments that make her think it's just a feeling that she has. Alex says, my advice is to just be clear with them that you don't want more than a friendship. It might be a bit awkward at first, but it would get better and you'd remain friends after a while if they care enough about the friendship or if they're able to ignore or lose those feelings. I thought exactly, Alex. And Julie says, wait until he confesses feelings. That way, if it ruins the friendship, it's on him and not you. See, and I kind of agree with that too. If he hasn't, come out and said, like, is he making comments like we should put it sounds like they hang out outside of work anyway. Yeah, they do hang out outside of work, but I just, I'm worried that if she waits until
he actually tries to make a move, like tries to hold her hand or plan a kiss on her or say, like, I'm starting to really like you, then he's going to say, like, well, you were leading me on if she says I don't have those same feelings. 6-0-1-995-1017 is our phone number. If you've got thoughts, you could even go to the Adam and Alice in Facebook page and leave your comments there as well. If you have any advice for work friend, Wanda, can she let them know that she's not interested or would that be the most presumptuous thing ever? 6-0-1-995-1017. We have a big announcement coming up in two songs. We're going to tell you about a Y-101 artist announcing US tour dates. It's very exciting. Tell you about it coming up. Adam and Alice in on Y-101 will get you the info you need to start your day in just a moment, but we have a big announcement to make. This is a concert announcement that I think you're going to be very excited about. Typically, if we do a concert announcement, it's something at the Brandon Ampitheater
that's coming, maybe at Dulling Hall or something like that. This concert announcement is in Atlanta. The date Friday, May 21st, and Saturday, May 22nd. Oh, wow, double. At Mercedes Benz Stadium. Harry Styles will be there. Oh, my gosh. Massive concert. He's not doing many dates. I don't believe in the US. This is going to be one of them. And it's a quick five-hour drive to Atlanta, about right? Or a quick flight? Yeah, you could get a direct flight there. Also Friday, Saturday, those are great days for concerts. Absolutely. Let's go on sale. Next Wednesday at 8 a.m., if you want to buy tickets and just throwing this out there, we're working on something. If you want to win tickets, we're working on something. That's pretty much all I can say right now.
Oh, that's so exciting. I love Harry Styles. Harry Styles in Atlanta, Friday, May 21st, and Saturday, May 22nd. We're so excited. And keep listening because we just may have a chance for you to win tickets at some point, just throwing that out there. Just keep listening and tell your friends to listen if they want to see Harry Styles in Atlanta next band. Very exciting. Now what matters to the Metro, the info you need to start your day in President Donald Trump, says he had a great conversation with Russian President Putin, and he believes Putin wants a deal to end the war with Ukraine. Trump spoke about it on Tuesday. He was talking to reporters saying an agreement could happen. If you, Ukrainian President Zelensky also wanted one, he blamed the lack of progress on a personal hatred between Putin and Zelensky. I did be great to see that that warrant. I'm just sick of it. Locally, things were heated at a Jackson City Council meeting.
They're trying to rename part of Wood Street after Jackson State Band Director, Dr. Roderick Little. Councilman Brian Grisel said that little didn't actually want the street renamed and Councilman can a Stokes disagreed. That's whenever things got personal when Stokes called Grisel a damn lie. He said you a damn lie. And then they just decided to go ahead and pull the proposal from the agenda altogether. So they're not going to rename the street. I don't get why anybody gives a fly an F what that street is called, but whatever. Yeah. The pattyness in the city council meetings is entertaining at least. And finally, Jennifer Lawrence has joined Instagram. Welcome to the 2010s. J Law. She is on Instagram as at J Law. She had avoided it for years and years and years. She's following 45 accounts right now, including some of the Kardashian family, Martin Scorsese, Kiki Palmer and more.
The bio pointed fun at her new username saying Jennifer Lawrence was taken. So she had to go with J Law. Oh, okay. Wow. There you go. We've got more coming up on the show. Alex Warren is playing next. Hang on. Out of the Alicin in the morning. On Y 101. There are Admin Alicin on Y 101, one of C TLC. Coming to the Brandon Ampitheater in just a couple weeks. We're looking for the most millennial mommy in the Metro. You can enter by texting mom, M O M to 601 995 101 7. It'll be a little girl's night out for you and three of your girlfriends. If you win, because we're hooking you up with four premier tickets to C TLC. It's going to be awesome. I was looking at Marie's submission. She said, I love my babies down, but I also believe in looking cute, minding my business, playing my music too loud when the vibe is right and having a life outside of being somebody's home of the life. I'm tired. I'm blessed, slightly dramatic, and I'm always going to find the reason to laugh because that's
just how we do it. So yeah, I'm pretty sure that makes me the coolest millennial mom. And I'm going to go ahead and accept my trophy and tickets in advance. I love the energy. So text mom, M O M to 601 995 101 7. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Attach a picture and you'll be entered for the premium TLC tickets at the Brandon Amp Theater again, text mom to 601 995 101 7. Allison, a public meltdown. Did you witness this? Yep, at the Texas Tech football game. I cannot wait to hear what the public meltdown is all about next. Joe Dennis. Adam and Allison on Y 101. So Allison, you witnessed a public meltdown? I did at the Texas Tech football game and I was definitely laughing at this guy's pain. Okay, what happened? So I'm in line for concessions trying to get a soda and there is this guy who is clearly drunk, which you know, it's a football game. I'm not here to judge, but he's also crying like ugly crying like Kim Kardashian crying.
And I'm thinking he's trying to cut people in line because he keeps kind of going up to different people in this big concession stand line. I'm like, what does this guy trying to do? Well then I get close enough to him that I can hear what he's saying and he's crying because apparently the football game was happening in the middle of his fantasy football draft and he thought he would be able to do his fantasy football draft at the football game not thinking about all the people there and the fact that he wouldn't really have cell service. And so it was just he was getting the worst picks and he was like showing everyone how bad his football team was and getting all the guys to convince her with him. But I mean he's just ugly cry. He's like, I'm in his football team. Oh. I'm bad. Okay. It was the best. It was the best. He might have been the highlight of the game for me. Not the fact that they won, but this guy who's he had the best of intention. Not that your team won. The fact that this guy lost. Yeah. It's like he really was like, you didn't want to miss a football game, but he also didn't
want to miss out on his fantasy football drafts. So he tried to do both and he didn't work out so good for it. What other public meltdowns have you witnessed? 6-0-1, 995-1-1-7. If you've got a story to tell us of a public meltdown, maybe you want to admit to a time you had a bit of a meltdown yourself a couple of weeks ago on like a Saturday morning or something. I was at Starbucks across the street from Whole Foods and Jackson. And I walked in on the middle of a public meltdown. It was a guy, I guess he was standing in line waiting to order and none of the workers acknowledged him. He said for five minutes, which they were all busy. There was a ton of people in that Starbucks. A lot of people waiting for drinks. Myself included. So it's like, you know, bro, you're at Starbucks. Like clearly things aren't going that badly for you. You are about to have coffee. But I guess he just wanted a cup of black coffee and he didn't understand why he had to wait so long. He's screaming at the burritos and the burritos and everything. Burritos?
Yeah. It's a male burrito. But I thought I thought I was going to witness a fight or maybe worse. Like I did. I had mobile. I had ordered my drink on the mobile app or whatever. I thought about leaving because I was like, what if like somebody pulls a gun or something right? I mean, you hear crazy stories all the time. I've been to that Starbucks a few times, especially on the weekends. And it does. It gets very crowded and people get really upset either they mobile ordered and they don't understand why their drink is taking so long or I've seen the same thing there where somebody is waiting in line and all the buristas are busy and they don't understand why nobody can take their order. And it's like they're doing the best that they can. We all just need to take a chill pill. 6-0-1-995-1017, any other crazy public meltdowns? The more ridiculous the reason for the meltdown, the better. Because I love the mental image of a guy crying over his fantasy football team in public.
And drunk crying too. Like he really did look like that Kim Kardashian man. It was, I wish I could have gotten a picture of it in the best. 6-0-1-995-1017 if you got a story for us. Adam and Allison in the morning on Y-101. Adam and Allison on Y-101, Allison just told the story of witnessing a public meltdown at a football game over a fantasy football draft. Yeah. 6-0-1-995-1017. Cory from Brandon said, I thought it was going to be what Tyra Banks called a man from back in the day. It was a man tantrum and I was here for it. I was the highlight of my football game. This guy bawling his eyes out over the fact that his phone wasn't really working for his fantasy football draft at the Texas Tech football game. The best. Ever witnessed any other public meltdown that you can think of off the top of your head? I've had a public meltdown. Oh, you have to be what happened. Yeah, I, it was right after my high school boyfriend had cheated on me and we went to,
we were on the same cell phone plan, my cell phone plan and I needed to get him off my cell phone plan. So we had to meet at the AT&T store to get him off my cell phone plan and he brought the girl that he had cheated on me with and I absolutely had it melt down in the middle of the cell phone store. Is that whenever you crashed your car into somebody else? No, that was a different time. That was whenever we met up so I could give him a stop. Yes. Okay, sure. A couple of meltdowns. Yes, that guy caused quite a few public meltdowns for me. That's hilarious. It's what I want to want to add to an Allison and next on the show, Bad News, somehow we are one of the most expensive states in America to do something. I will tell you what we're spending more money on than pretty much everybody else in America. Next, hang on. Adam and Allison on why one-on-one I wouldn't think we would be one of the most expensive states to do this just because I mean typically like I think our average income in the state
of Mississippi is lower than a lot of places. Yep. But it is apparently more expensive to own a car. Yep. In the state of Mississippi, then almost any other place. It's the fourth most expensive state to own a car in. I believe it just because I know I was in for a huge shock whenever I moved here and had to sign up to get my car registered with the state and then even every year after that. It's like $1,000 every year. It's so ridiculous. To sign up and I'm like, okay, and I'm still out here dodging potholes. Yeah, exactly. The road suck like why is it so expensive to own a car here? This little study took into account a bunch of different things including insurance, gas, maintenance, I'm sure tickets and tags and everything like that are also included in that. And it found that the average ownership cost per year in Mississippi is $6,942. Gross. I don't even want to think about that.
That's so upsetting. The only places that are higher than Mississippi, Wyoming, Maryland and Georgia. Interesting. They're all up over $1,000. Louisiana's the 10th most expensive place to own a car than Michigan, Indiana, South Carolina, Nevada and Missouri. Man, it really is all over the place. It's not really clear why it's just greedy politicians, I guess. They just decided, you know, we're going to charge you more for having a car in our state because we can. Absolutely is a good point. Like 100%. And I've heard people make the argument before at least in Mississippi, the income tax is lower than a lot of other states so that you kind of make up for it with your car registration fees being so expensive and everything. But Texas is no income tax, not on the list. Florida, no income tax, nowhere on the list. So what is the excuse? Why are our tags so dang expensive in Mississippi? Pretty politicians, it's got to be.
Yeah, I think you pretty much know that actually got more coming up. Tea pain, playing next, hang on. Adam and Allison in the morning on Why 101? Tea pain, Why 101? Adam and Allison, he put on a great show at the brand in the amphitheater. Not that long ago, it feels like it was just yesterday, but it definitely wasn't. No, definitely longer ago than just yesterday. But another show is coming. We want to get you in to C TLC, Salt and Peppa, and Envogue if you are the Metro's most millennial mom. If you want to sign up to win that text mom, M O M to 601 995 101 seven. The Metro going to vote and crown somebody a winner and give them four premium tickets to the show.
