I win, so I'm straight. Good afternoon, St. Louis D. Jess 101, FMKM. The Wags Happy Monday to everybody. Monday wheels. Hi. How's your weekend? Long. Good, but long. Baseball? There's some early mornings, you know? That makes it long. Well, I'm fond of you. I was an exceptionally old, before noon, like out of my house before 7.
Oh! Yeah, for me, that's a punch on the, you know what? That's a rough one. Yeah. Yeah. It's a butt punch right there. Punch with a butt variety. I think I could probably handle those though. You know, that's not that bad. That's fine now. Yeah, actually, that would be kind of the preferred place to be punched. It's a pretty good spot to get hit. I know this. Like when I was hitting, that was the best spot to get hit by a pitch. Did you get a return? I'm like, yeah, here. Get it. Okay, good start. Yeah. Good start to the show. Yeah. I mean, you are supposed to kind of like turn and roll your whole back, like your shoulders, not like, because you don't want to get hit in the, you know, face. You turn. Can I make an observation? Do you guys remember Andrew Cut is haircut on Friday? Yeah. No. Well, he did. I feel like you settle into a new haircut quicker than anyone. What do you mean? It just looks good. Like it looks moved in already. Like Friday, it definitely looked very fresh. And it looks nice, but now it's just like, that just looks like your hair now.
I think it's because I always get the same haircut. Mm, there you go. Like it's, it's very rare that I get anything different than this. I'm going to tell him. I know. It's in the system. I got a great clip. And I send down and they say, do you want the, do you want the one you usually get? And I go, sure. What do it says? It's like, it's like four on the sides and a six on the top or whatever. They do the sides and the back with like a clippers. They, and then they, for the top. I would not have known what you meant without the sound. For the top, they usually do like an inch and a half. I just realized I really have no idea about hair cutting technology. I mean, for real, I haven't been into a barber shop in 25, 30 years. And everything else in the world has changed. Why wouldn't that? But I haven't noted it. Like I can walk in there right now and they can pull something and I'm like, what the hell is that thing?
Yeah, basically, it's just scissors and clippers still. That's disappointing. Yeah. I didn't miss anything. No, they've even still got the like spray bottle. Yeah, get out. Yeah, spray. You want to spray your hair. I have the only thing that hasn't done. You could walk into a barber shop now and be like, you were just there yesterday. Wow. And it's a little like, it's a little like floral, the water that they spray. At least it doesn't smell like water. That's too bad. I get so intimidated at the hair salon for ladies because I don't understand how any of it works. Like the coloring of the hair. And it's like, we're going to tone you and we're going to brighten you up. I have no clue what is happening. And everyone else seems to be like, it's like they're in a group chat. I'm like, oh, I'm like, we have to just leave Rachel. I understand the stylist, but the other ladies, like, how do you know this? Yeah. Yeah, when you guys talking about this stuff. Yeah, when are you learning this? At what point in life do you learn those things? They happen to me.
I just show up and I show them like a picture of whatever celebrity on my phone and I go, can you do that? Yeah. Did make it like bad, I guess? Last time I was like genuinely asked, not like do you want the usual four on the sides and an inch on the top or whatever and I go, woo, the last time I was genuinely asked, like, what would you like today? I was like shorter. Yeah, that's making right a show. That's true. What should we do? I'll just make everything short. Like this, but less, because the one that the only hairstyle I know besides this one is the one that my wife has been trying to get me to get for like 15 years now. And that is the, no, it's the stupid like Gen Z broccoli haircut. Uh, you gotta have curly hair. And I'm like, and the first thing that I say is like number one, and because my hair will curl if it gets a little, a little length to it. But I was like number one, no, that's for I think actual children. And number two, she'll always show me like hairstyles and it'll be like a model with this, like hairstyle. And she's like, I just think you look great with this hair. I'm like, you know that I won't look like that guy.
If I get there, I'll just look like my dumbass with the haircut. Like it's not gonna change. Yeah, it's not gonna be as significant as I think you're, as you're hoping for. No, everything you say makes sense. It's 100% true, which is why it's funny. Yeah, you can look real stupid. I'm about the same way. Exactly. Yeah, I've always felt that way. Like he looks great with his haircut, because he is a model. And also somebody just freshly cut it to make it perfect for that picture that moment. Yes, he literally had gotten his haircut seconds before that. Also, like keep drilling down to the model thing. Like I'm just thinking to male models now, they would look good in anything. Yes. Like the fact that you look good in that suit should not be a revelation to anyone. That's yes. You would look good in anything. Yeah. Well, there's a trend online where like more average to even like bigger girls will do, like is that a cute outfit or is she just skinny? And it'll be like Kendall Jenner or one of the one of the really skinny models
and they're wearing something. And then they put it on and they're like, something's so cute. Yeah. Right. I'm just saying here realizing what a problem hair has been for you in my whole life. Like all the way to the jump. Like I believe in a super white blonde hair, like up until it was a wig. It was someone else's. But it was like super white blonde. And then when I was, I think as God, junior in high school, I went to get my hair cut the same place I always went. And the guy sort of pulled my hair back, you know, showing my forehead. And he literally said, I'm prompted and say like, I'm a little worried. He just goes, well, I guess we're all gonna go bald sometime. I'm 17 years old. Dang, man. That's mean. I'm telling you. 17 year old that, I mean, he wasn't wrong. Well, Barbers are always known for their, pretty straight shooting ways. In fact, he was completely right. So he's just preparing you. Yeah, but it's all the way through. You look better bald than I think you ever would with hair though.
Boy, that's the most backhanded compliment. No, I don't, that's not backhanded. I know you don't mean it that way, but, yeah. Like you've turned bald into something like iconic. You know what I mean? Ah, Dave's like no sale. Yeah, no. I mean, I just, he looks great bald, but we may be overselling it. Yeah, I'm just saying. I mean, look, you made a logo out of it. I don't know what more you could do. Yeah, I'm not sure I've like gained any ground for baldness, but I didn't have a lot of choices. Wig or no wig. Man, I should have gone wig. I really should have. You should have gone full on like gone in. Like I should have been the Dolly parton of radio. I should have just acknowledged it was a wig. Right, and just change him up. At change him up every week. It's never kind of fun. Yeah. Like this week, Dave's a ginger. Exactly. This week's a big ol' It looks like Paul McCartney. I would love to see the bull cut from the Beatles.
Well, let me be your play thing. God almighty, I would look. Boy, I look really weird with one of those. Yes. It's correct. I have to do that. You have correctly assessed. You look straight. Like the dopiest dope ever. The dopiest dope. So Rage, we walked about four or five miles Friday, right? You know, on the march of the arch. Led me to already buy pretty nice, expensive, walking, hiking running shoes. Good, you should. Yeah, it's pretty. I haven't walked another 10 yard since. That's awesome. But there's time. I decided like when we're walking, being me, you know what, next year, I'm doing the whole 21 miles, then I'm like, well, I can't just, I had a train for that. Yeah, ask Amy for some tips. And you can't train without shoes. I'm gonna need some shoes. That's right. Two weeks ago, I said you need to buy new shoes for this walk. Yeah.
Because I know all of your shoes are like, they have no arch. Yeah. They're like, they're like heavy socks. Yeah. And Dave's like, I'm getting a blister. And I look at these shoes. I'm like, oh, of course you are. You're a blister maker. This is the pair of angles. I've never seen one. I'm not a piece of hard one. I make bad decisions. Dave's got, I got an Amazon box here at some string. That'll work. I think this is going to be just fine. Let's go to the art. Instead of the shoes, this is the shoe box. Who's with me? 300 yards in a mug. Ouchy. Well, you can break them in next year. I am a whole eager. I have to start training for 11 months. It's crazy how much just other humans can take your mind off things, though, because when I walk, if I take a morning walk, I aim for like three miles. But I usually around mile two, I'm like checking my pedometer like, all right, am I getting close? Because they just start to get bored. My mind is down. Yeah. Even though I'm enjoying nature and stuff, it still gets a little tedious.
But walking with all of you guys and talking with people, interviewing people, I think we walked two of those miles while interviewing. 100%. 100%. And I just can't believe how quickly I went by. There's my new thing. The Walking Radio Show Guy. I do all my interviews while I'm walking, huh? Walk with Dave. The podcast. The podcast. Special edition podcast. I know some people who do like all of their work on like those little walking pad. Yeah, like a walking pad. Like a tiny little, um, treadmill. Yeah. I can't even come up with the word for it. People are those. Yeah, you can get one of those and you can put it right there and then you. How are walk like you do on the show? You're gonna get death trap. Well, then Andrew, you're gonna be dragging that thing over to the library. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, you want to do the show? Oh, yeah. All right. You can just leave it in the corner over there. They don't even like the weather tech mat that Dave put down. Yeah.
Some people complain about that. Yeah, they're gonna like walking down. Yeah. Right. Then what are we doing? Somebody steals it. Yeah. And you know, it'll be Steve but. He was the funniest guy I could think of. I know. Yeah. Poor Steve catching a stray. Um, have you guys seen the QT hot dog thing that bush Nadia me? No. No. So, uh, I'm interested. And when I went to the game yesterday and she had texted me before that, um, they have a big blow up bun and a big blow up hot dog. And they start one at first base and one at third base in the crowd. And then the crowd has to like beach ball concert. These inflatables to behind home plate and then get the hot dog into the bun. And if they do, everyone in the stadium gets a free QT hot dog. I have two of them coming to me today. I forgot. Oh, cool. But and they did it yesterday. It's stadium completely to our surprise unless you set it up for me and, uh, and they
got the, the, they got the weaning in the bun. So all of us get free dogs. That's fun. It's the most exciting thing I've seen in a while. You have to show your ticket. You're gonna say something else. Um, yes. Well, I mean, that probably would hurt your. Yes, you do. And you do have to show your ticket. Don't do the other thing because I'll get you in trouble. But I'm not sure if they're going to, if this is like going to be an every game thing. I hope so. Hope so. It was fun. That's a lot of hot dogs are giving away though. Mm hmm. Yeah. Do I just show up and go like I'm entitled to my hot dog? I think you just show your ticket. Oh, yeah, they've gone to the game. Yes. Yes. They are sticklers. It's not like the mobile on the run thing where you get the drink, the cheap drinks that they score six runs. It's automatic. I could show up and be like, all right. I'm ready. I heard it made it into the bun. I'm hitting a few different TTs today. I got a map. Also, for the first time, I found the Hat Game tedious. The Hat Game. Yeah, balls under the hat. I've always found it a little.
Yeah. But my OCD makes me watch. It's impossible to look away. I do love to play those games, but yeah, it's not the most inspiring, I guess. Yeah. It goes on for about five seconds too long. Yeah, I get why it's to throw you off the set. But it's like, hey, I can manage. It's also digital, so you could mess with it. Yeah, you could cheat. And there's no, because there's no prize, right? It's just a game, right? Yeah, everyone gets a thousand bucks. Dang it, I missed it. And when it gets free, you get the odd dog. You just gotta go ask him. They'll give you the thousand bucks not dog. You gotta show him your ticket. When you said it's digital, I really went down a rabbit hole. Is it really all that? That was like, oh, how long has it been since it was real? And then like, never. There was never a time they had three real helmets in a baseball. Yeah, some guy playing three card money on the field. You fools. I heard you cry loud.
All the way to the south. We're back, DJS and Camel X. Morning and I had a disagreement about, wouldn't have disagreed. Neither was new with the deal was with Big Mac Land anymore. Like, okay, they have to hit in Big Mac Land, who gets it one guy, everybody. But then she said, she said, no, I think you get a year's supply of Big Macs. And I'm like, oh, okay. So that's one a day. It goes, you crazy? No, that's like one a month. Do you guys think when someone, if someone said to you, you're going to get a year's supply of Big Macs? I think a year's supply of Big Macs 365 Macs. That's a great question. Thank you. I would think it was one so weak. Yeah, I was going to say that. We finally negotiated down like with any control. Because like a normal person doesn't need a Big Mac every day. I mean, there's that few guys that do it, but that's the reason it's a news story that
they do it. He wouldn't be making everybody did it. But if you're giving it away, I mean, 12 Big Macs, kiss my ass for 12 Big Macs. You got to think when they say like a lifetime supply of Cheetos, it's not every day you get a bag of Cheetos for the rest of your life. It's usually a month or whatever. Probably a certain number a month or whatever. Yeah, like a box a month. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. That's definitely though in the eye of the beholder. I also realized that St. Louis is the most polite baseball town for also being the murder capital of the country. Like we're so passive. I've not been around White Sox fans much, but they're they're pretty out there. Like they're pretty aggressive like Philly's fans and they just kind of took over this weekend. I was at two of the games to the point that we were doing. Let's go cardinals, but then they started doing let's go White Sox over us.
Wow. And the St. Louis people are like, peace. Oh, I'm not I'm not sure quite what you're trying to do here, my my friend. Like no one was screaming at him or F you were trying to be louder. They're just like, well, I guess we'll let them have their way. Consider the decorum sir. Yeah. Wheels, do we have this is just my guess, but do we have like older fans than other franchise? Or like I guess if you're like traveling, maybe you're a little younger and I don't mix it up. I don't think so. I think some of it is just where your team is and has been in the standings. You know, the White Sox are playing for a playoff spot right now. They're battling to try to win their division and the Cardinals would kind of know it's a little different vibe because I've been in Bush Day and so many times over the years with the covering the team and it gets pretty feisty when they're good and you're facing a good team. Like, you know, it's the Cardinals and the Dodgers and they're both good or Cardinals and Cubs and they're both good. It gets a little more energy. I just think the way the vibe is these last few years, people are still kind of waiting for the team to get good again.
What did you guys think of the big deal between KU and Mizu over the weekend? We didn't really get much between us to talk about this on Friday because of 9-11, but KU put out a hype video. Oh, Mizu suck so bad. It's rivalry. We hate them. We're going to kick their asses, but it was based on the Civil War and the massacre of Lawrence, which I had never heard of, but I went and researched it. And in like 1854, something like that, a bunch of people who were pro-slavery led by this guy, it seems like a real terrible dude. Ponsules Raiders. Yeah. Brought, came in and killed a couple hundred people, men and boys, but like, okay, but no one there was here and you were talking about a bunch of 19 and 20 year old boys. So it seemed a little crazy to me. It was stupid. And I good, good on Eli Drinkowitz because after the game, he talked about how stupid
it was. And then he also quoted tweeted them after that, after the game, too, he's like, he says, man, y'all are weird. Winners win. I know that's right because their big thing was it was, it's right versus wrong, right? Because it's, you know, we're reliving civil war era battles, I guess, because that's all you have for KU football. Strange decision because if I'm a mizu guy and if I'm coached during, that would be my take away. It's like, that's all you have for the last 150 years of football. All you have is the civil war. You got nothing else you want to pride yourself on. You don't want to pride yourself on your all time record against us. You don't want to bring up the actual football. You want to bring up some historical thing that has nothing to do with anybody currently alive. Well, don't you think it diminishes the civil war aspect of it? It's a little, it's a little trite to just, by the way, I guess you guys love slavery over there. Good luck getting the first down. Yeah, I don't know if these kids who are going to mizu, like, we're really weighing that in their decision to attend that school.
I don't. I'm sorry. Yeah. I love you. They show down. But they seem a little anti-slavery. Right. I mean, in your right, it does absolutely diminish. The horrors of slavery to be like, and, you know, your football teams, your football teams stings because of that. You know what I mean? Like, it's just, it's, I thought it was very bad taste. Yeah. This is where the line, it's not that deep really does apply. It's sports, man. It is not that deep. Well, clearly, if you got, if you got 120 years of no quality football, I guess that's all you have to fall back to. I think that's clearly what the joke of the video is. You know what I mean? Like, that's, I don't know. I just didn't really think that it was fun to make, like, a, you know, use it as like a promo. It felt like a pretty big mess. Yeah. Bernie McClure is going to join us Dave Murray. Sweet 16 today is what we designed it was. Oh best best. V. Same song. Same song. Same song. I want to say soundtrack and I knew that wasn't right. Did you know this? Okay good. I was really guys swim around for it. Thanks we appreciate that.
Yeah we have a good team mate. I'm usually in the dark so I feel like I'm really stupid in there. Normally I don't know but I do this time so. Twist in the wind guys. We have Melissa and Reverend Julie in from Bethesda. Good to see you guys. How are you? Doing great. Good to see you. Thanks. Thinking about in a very near and dear to your heart Julie wants you. Present it. Thank you so much. So this is our annual memorial. So it's an opportunity for people to come together on other loved ones and then also find just healthy ways to cope with their own grief. So we love this opportunity to really bring people together and to process grief in creative ways. So many people do memorials where they honor their loved ones but we do ours a little bit differently. We actually have ribbons that you can write their name on and we pin it to our shirt during the ceremony. We read everyone's names out loud during the ceremony and then at the very end we pin them on this beautiful memorial wreath so that we're actually creating this gorgeous artwork
together at the end. And then we have lots of interactive stations that people do. So we've got about 10 stations with lots of different activities and they're always to honor your loved one. So for example there's a memory wall where you can write a quote of theirs. You know a favorite saying of theirs. There are places where you can do some self care. So we've got a meditation station. We've got a station where you can make a little lavender sachet. Just things to relax and calm you when you're grieving. And then things for people of all ages. We've got a coloring station for kids and adults, a blessing station where you can light a candle in their honor, even a veteran station where you can place a flag in honor of a veteran. Lots of different ways to honor a loved one and remember them. Boy, time is flying. It seems like we just did this. I know. Like two months ago. Yeah. That's what it feels like. Because I wrote my quote from my mom, which was my mom's final words to me.
And those final words were you would look so much younger if you shaved that beard. Which I'm so proud of. I think that's the greatest. Her last words were a slam to me. But yeah, it's just so perfect. But when I said that, some people were there and they're like, I'm going to write my mom's last words. And they're like various times like, hold on a second. Like, you'll see. The best thing about that event to me is just you are in a room full of people who are or were or will be grieving and they get it. Yes, that's exactly right. And I love the way you talked about that quote from your mom. It doesn't have to be something solemn. And what I love about this event is that we take a creative approach to honoring our loved ones because it's not just about being sad and missing them. It's also about remembering the people who they were and how we carry on their legacy today. So we do all of these different activities so that we can have a little bit of love, a
little bit of lightness, a little bit of joy along with the grief. Completely then, prepare you guys for this question. But it's in my show prep today. We all know, you know, AI and AI is doing this and doing that. We know that you can go to tombstones and there's a QR code and you can hover over it and your dad's face will show up. Well, now they're to the point that for someone like me that there are thousands and thousands of hours of me speaking and they can make a pretty good AI version of me. They're really pushing that now as a way to have a quote, second relationship with the loved one. So I pass away and Nick and Phoebe are able to because this one guy was talking about, I go to to my dead father for advice all the time now. I just bring him up. He was a CEO. He answers my questions like, how does it hit you guys? That's such a great question. And I've been hearing more and more about this. So I've been thinking a lot about it.
So I think human beings have always been looking for ways to connect with deceased loved ones. Like this just seems to be a human thing that we have done for centuries. Right. Exactly. And I think for a lot of people that's always been really there's a draw to it and also there's can be a darker side to it. And I think the same happens with AI, you know, because when you're trying to connect with a loved one, especially with AI, you are not really connecting with them. Right. It's a simulation of them, but it's never really going to be them. And so for me, I'm a little cautious about it. I understand 100% the desire to connect in that way, natural normal human desire. And I think that there's always a darker side to it when it's something artificial. It can't really be fully that person. Listen, what do you think? You know, I would say that when we are reaching out for our loved ones, we definitely want to hear about advice.
We want things that they might tell us would be great for the future. So for using it more as a prompting event, I think it would be very sensible to talk with someone, but understand and keep the reality that this is a chat GBT version of my loved one and not the actual loved one. I think that's kind of where I would keep it at. Yeah. And I think that's where it gets so tricky because can we really actually do that? Can we actually keep that cognitive separation between this is not my loved one, this is an AI simulation of them? I'm not sure I would be able to, honestly. I think it would get to mixed up in my mind. I think I would get emotionally involved with an AI simulation that's not actually my loved one. Yeah. Right. What do you think? Yeah. I mean, I don't know that I would be able to interact with something like that and get anything meaningful or fulfilling out of it because it is artificial. And it is just a program responding to information that you've given to it or uploaded into it. And it's like at that point, I could just imagine for myself what maybe the loved one would
tell me. And, you know, we all seem to have a pretty good sense, we humans of what's natural and what's not. For example, my mom passing away at 96 natural. My brother passing away at 49 of suicide, not natural. And it leaves behind a different shape scar. And whether it's that example or it's the example of what we're dealing with now, there's something. Yeah, we're all saying the same thing in different ways, but there's just something unnatural that I can imagine being sort of, let me jump in the deep in first kind of person, having this amazing relationship with my AI mom or dad that supplants and surpasses what I had with them in life life. And that would be kind of sad and weird. Yeah. Well, and I think also we already have so many great tools that we can use.
You know, therapists often use this kind of empty chair model where you sit in front of an empty chair, you imagine your loved one in front of you and you say to them what you need to say to them and then you switch chairs and you say back to yourself what you would hope your loved one would say to you. So I think we already have techniques that can bring us maybe that closure that we're still looking for, especially if it was a complex relationship without necessarily turning to AI. Yeah. What's it how we doing on volunteers for no one dies alone? We are doing so wonderful and they are continuing to join the forces. So we've onboarded a few more. I believe a few of them were from your show. So they're continually joining us. The team is getting incredibly large. We're filling most of our vigil hours on many of our vigils. Epithezda deal worth especially. Epithezda Southgate. We could use a few more. That's in South County on Telegraph Road. Always kind of looking for volunteers at that location. So nice. But they may still be missing key nutrients like protein and iron. When you're not tracking them consistently, it can be difficult to know if you're actually meeting your needs. That's why I recommend cronometer. It gives you a detailed look at your nutrition, including protein intake, iron, fiber, omega threes, and so much more. I like that it helps women move beyond simply counting calories and really understand nutrient density. What makes cronometer different is the level of accuracy and detail. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, but also robust enough that I genuinely trust the data. During midlife, nutrition becomes even more important than ever, and having access to this kind
of information can help support smarter daily habits. If you want a clearer picture of your nutrition and micronutrient intake, download cronometer for free today at cronometer.com. Welcome back to EGSN Camelwax 146. It's also been interesting over the weekend. Every civilization early on, ancient civilizations who had no idea the other ones even existed on different continents separated by oceans. They all valued gold more than any other substance.
They're like, that's crazy. It's like everyone picking out grapes and grapes are our God. They were describing why. I was really interested that gold, first of all, it's gold. This looks cool. That it is so soft that you can shape it without heating it up so you can just grab it, shape it into a ring or whatever. You're like, there you go, calf, and that it's readily available, like just sitting on top of the ground, unlike other kind of metals you have to dig for. This part I didn't know that it basically is impervious. When we dig up something gold from 5,000 years ago and you have cleaned it off with some windex, it's exactly like it was before. It doesn't rust. It doesn't rust. It doesn't oxidize. It can change. It can be in the soil. It can be, yeah, that's just kind of crazy. But I thought that was really interesting. That's an interesting little human factoid that yeah, everyone was obsessed with gold
in here. It's also interesting to, at least my understanding of how you use metals. It wasn't very useful. I mean, it's going to look at, right? It's always for decorative purposes, but you couldn't use it as a weapon. It'll bend or it'll break. It's not that sturdy. It's not that sturdy. We use it today in electronics stuff. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's very highly conductive. I thought that was interesting. Yeah. Also I'm mad at stub hub. Uh-oh. I got my tickets to Foo Fighters and ACDC through stub hub. They did a fine job. And then I got an email. You know how I hate taking surveys and giving feedback. They send me one that they're like, hey, did you take any pictures of ACDC? I'm just like... Not for you, I didn't. You are not my friend. Yeah. You're not even a human. Yeah. Stop milking me. Yeah. I paid $500 for two tickets. Isn't that enough? You need my pictures of Angus Young.
Yeah, you need my review of the dome. Yeah. I'm not going to name the place because I don't want to throw them out of the bus. Name them. I got a text today from a business that texted me yesterday saying confirm your appointment by pressing C. I pressed C. And then I get another one today. Hey, by the way. Hey, your appointment is that same day that you just confirmed 24 hours ago. Leave me alone. I know who that is. Leave me alone. It's hustler club. They do that. He was cussing. He was so mad about us. I was. I'm like, come on, man. Leave me alone. Let me give you my money. Yes. Or not. Yeah. Why is it not just done once it used to be we will do anything to get your money. And once we have it, I'll leave you alone. That's it. Hey, we don't care anymore. We got your money. We got your $500. Now they're going to milk you for your data so they can try to make more money for me.
Like the Amazon, everything you order from Amazon. Like, would you please rate your experience? No. No. I, you gave me a link. I pushed on it. My money, the thing showed up at my house, end of transaction. I didn't need to give a review when I went to the store to buy something. Why do I need to give you a review every time I buy something? I also have a day of factoid for you. I think it's last night. Yeah. Got a hankering for some bad, you know, fast food. And I ordered McDonald's and I just got a happy meal. Because that's kind of the thing you can do in your door to action. Because you're not embarrassed. And then I thought, I'm going to add some chicken McNuggets. It's the first time in my life in 62 years. I have ever ordered chicken McNuggets. First time ever. I've had them, but not much. Like when the kids were little, I'd steal one here and there. Never ordered McNuggets my whole life. That's so interesting. It's weird, isn't it? Yeah, I do it like four times a week. That's my normal side. I get those instead of fries. Look at you.
Fries at a burger or a nugge is on a burger. So the fries. That's a little too much softness. Well, I guess fries are pretty soft to them. Did you get the space you kind? No, didn't even know that was a thing. Oh, it is. Did you like them? I did. Yeah. Are they completely different from the tenders? Yes. As in tenders are made out of a bird and these are not. They're, go ahead, rage. What do you say? Well, the breading is completely different. Yeah, that's how I would. That's how I would describe the difference between them. But I saw a chef make chicken McNuggets at home using the way they do it. So basically you just take chicken breast and you put in a blender with all the seasonings and it gets all mushy and then you just shape it the way you want it. So it's real chicken. It's just blended chicken. Who is that one celebrity chef who had like a healthy living show and he was trying to convince kids to eat better? So he showed them the process of making chicken McNuggets and the kids are all like, ew, gross. Yucky. And then he's like, and who wants one now?
And they go, I do. I want to McNugget. Hey, once you throw them in that fryer, they look great. Yeah, exactly. I don't care where you've been as long as you're with me now. The infamous pink slime video just simply did not work on me. Was that a real thing? I don't know. It doesn't matter because I don't know. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. But the thing is if you put uncooked chicken in a slurry blender, it's going to come out terrible. It's going to come out looking just like the pink slime and guess what? I'm still going to eat it. As long as I didn't pink when I'm eating it. He's made that again. Oh, man. There's a new sport called Hydrox like Hydrox without the D and it just looks like a whole bunch of exercises in a row for like an extended period of time. And they had one of their first championships and the ultimate female winner, Poopler brudges at the beginning. And just kept on. Well, at the beginning. Oh, so it wasn't because of the exercises.
So it was a prior condition. Now there's a whole like internet fight about. Should they have stopped her? She was using shared equipment. Yeah, that's not okay, man. Then in that case, you should. Yeah, if you're just in a field like doing back flips and jumping decks. Yeah, that's fine, I guess. That's, I mean, you know, whatever works for you. I just pictured a guy in a field doing back flips and poop in his bridges. We're just flying out the shore. Thanks for that. Oh, and she posted a photo in the hospital later and she says she's like doing one of these. Like, hmm, she was go hard or go home. They say a win is a win. Win is a win. Yeah, let's. Yeah, it made everyone sick with your two. Let's not poop our pants. I probably just would have said nothing, but. Yeah, I probably would have just left. I would have said, I gotta go home. I mean, could you just imagine like, I don't know, like a baseball player just pooping themselves and then just like, I'm gonna keep playing. I'm not gonna stop. Well, there was that guy who like puked all over the mound.
He kept playing. Yeah, but that's not like wearing poop on your pants for nine innings. I mean, you can. Like, could you imagine the first inning that happened? You're like, I'm not gonna go back and change. I'm gonna keep going. At the beginning is insane. Yes. It's one thing if you're like, you're got two events left and you're like, finish line of your marathon. Whatever, I'm making a choice to just push through. Yeah. I'm gonna win the whole thing. Yeah. At the beginning is like, well, time to start. I mean, did I have some consideration for the other competitors, right? Well, I'm wondering if it was a strategy like, I don't want to use the equipment. Like, poop is all over it. You know what? I bet she was right. I bet that was a winning gambit. I mean, it turned out to be. I'm not gonna try and pass her. Yeah, I know that. I'm like, oh, no, you got it. That's social media post. It says so much about our society though. Yeah. I won. Yeah. You also pooped your pants and everyone knows that's your famous right now because you pooped your pants, not because you won the competition. And best you broke even. Well, it's great publicity for the sport though, because I've never heard of it until
just now. Is it though? I mean, at least I now know what it is. That's what it is. We know about it. Yeah. I mean, the champion doesn't make me want to be. Like most people though, like, look, that's not an uncommon thing in athletics. Like sometimes you try a little too hard and something happens, but then you go change. You don't. I'm taking it. I don't know. I've seen a lot of publicity. I think I might want to get into that. Is that the new, like, final event for high rocks? I'm looking for a hobby. I've been reading a lot about that pants poop in sport. Yeah. Maybe it might be able to compete in that. So the organizers of the event said we ask our athletes to push themselves to the highest levels. And they will push. Yeah, maybe push, maybe push less. Yeah. Never going to know the rest of that quote. Sorry. That's okay. Sorry. Look it up. Miss just make him smoke down.
I never wanna but Welcome back guys. DTS on K Emo X beautiful day out there. Going to get pretty hot pretty much for the whole week. Dave will be with us as usual at 335. Right now in studio, we have David Wabi. He is from St Raymond's. The Lebanese festival is coming up this weekend. David, good to see you. How are you? I'm great. Thanks. So of course, the universal connection to all things Levin Levin on to us is Trish Gazelle. Yes. So sure you guys go way back. Absolutely. Yeah. We grew up as kids together in the parish, you know. Very family oriented parish. So yeah, everybody's, everybody's knows everyone. And somewhere along the line, we're likely related to each other. It's super cool. It is super cool. Like Trish is just one of my absolute besties.
And I'm so jealous of her because one, and it's not, it may have something to do with being Lebanese, but her family was and is so great. Yeah. She had such a great family. And I'm just jealous. I didn't have that same kind of thing that she did. And then St Raymond's is just such a perfect third place. It's just such a community place for the Lebanese population and everyone else. Absolutely. You know, the neighborhood down there was, was Lebanese in the beginning. A lot of these people all grew up together down near the church. And the church still is still in the same spot where it was a hundred years ago. So I mean, the church has been around for quite a while. I grew up in the church in St Raymond's Cathedral. And I'm proud to be asked to be the chairman this year of the 59th Lebanese Festival. My uncle, my father, chaired the event so it's kind of a family thing for me too. Nice. Yeah. And it's my turn now. Yeah. So, but when you mentioned, I mentioned I'm Lebanese. Always somebody's asking, do you know about St. Raymond's famous Wednesday launches?
Yeah. And oh, I love the food there. You know, well, this festival is going to be about that. We're going to have a lot of that food there. Most of it that you would see on a Wednesday launch as well as some additional things too. But I always, I'm always proud to say that St. Raymond's has been serving a community authentic Lebanese food for over 70 years. And the members of the church can trace like their family lineage back through service to the church and through service to these in these lunch times, these lunches that they've served. So like my grandmother, mother, aunt, there's uncles, entire families have grown up serving this and making this. And recipes we have are the same ones that that people are used to at Wednesday launches. But there are also things that have been around for, you know, almost a decade or 100 years. So, but it's been here for decades. So, you know, this year is our 59th annual festival. We've done this, you know, we do this every year right around mid September.
It's going to be at St. Raymond's Maronite Cathedral. That's at 931 Lebanon Drive, St. Louis, Missouri, right down the street from here. We're roughly, we're right in the in the shadow of Ralston, Prina. So you can easily find us by if you've nowhere else in Prina's at. We're right across the street, right across Shoto. Four blocks south of the ballpark. So if you're coming back from the ballpark, come on by and have some food. It's really laid back to. Oh, yeah. Yeah, it's a family atmosphere. It's a family. Absolutely. We have free parking. We have a ton of parking down there. We actually can park and use the Ralston, Prina's lot too. They give us that opportunity too. There's parking on the fairgrounds as well as we've got another parking lot. But there's parking along on Lebanon Drive, 45 degree parking. So there's tons of it down there. So you'll have no problems being able to get into it. We're going to be going from Friday, September 18th, from nine or from from six to 9pm.
There'll be a limited menu there. Some of the things from the Wednesday lunch, but more, more unique items like Shwarma and Afda and Philophils will be served during that time. Those are the unique items that we bring in for this event only. Then on Saturday, the 19th, we're going to go from nine to, are from noon to 9pm, pardon me. And then Sunday, the 20th will go from 11am to 5pm. It's free admission, free parking. There'll be tabooly, hummus, kibbi, kibbi na'i, kibbi aras, which is the world famous footballs that I think everybody's seen and had. And then we'll have beef and chicken Shwarma, Kafta, Philophils, Lebanese sweets, and then beer will be bringing in, we bring in beer from Lebanon. So it's El Mazah beer. I tried. It's really, really good. And then wine is served. There's entertainment. We have live music all weekend long. We've got a singer coming in from out of town that plays traditional Lebanese music.
And there'll be dance performances, games, raffles, and prizes for anyone who's at a dance. I understand Triske-Zell is doing a solo dance performance. So that's something you look forward to. Well, she actually used to do it some time ago. Every hour. Every hour. Every 10 minutes, like traffic and weather. Great to have a question. Yeah, David, can you just tell us a little bit about the culture behind this food, maybe for people who have never had Lebanese food before, because not only is it delicious, as I understand it's pretty labor intensive. Right. Maybe like a huge bonding moment for the folks who are preparing. Yeah, everything is, again, as I mentioned, everything are recipes that have been in the church for close to 100 years. The people have been making this food on Wednesday launches. But even before, I mean, that's been going on. And it is a family-oriented church. When they're making, I mean, right now they're down there by hand making the kibbe's, making the footballs, making the meat pies and spinach pies and grape leaves.
And all this is all done by hand with the ladies and men and the church that have been doing it for years and those again, that's a family thing. These families have been doing this same family's that have been working on them for years. So yeah, it is a really unique church. It's a very family-oriented church. And the Lebanese festival is like a coming together of everybody. All these families come together. You'll come down. You'll see people you haven't seen in years. And I mean, it originally was, pardon me, originally was called the homecoming. And it was meant to bring these people back together. But it's grown into something bigger than that because of people like you that find the food really good. So it gives them an opportunity to come down and experience it and experience a Lebanese culture. Pretty excited, aren't you, Rachel? Yeah. No, I was like, you're smiling like you for a kiv. She's like, great, believe, bang it. They're my favorite too. Yeah, it's so good.
Yeah, very, very cool. Yeah. Alright, man, thanks for being here and Trish is going to be on the show Wednesday through Friday. Some sure she'll be hitting it as well. So, yeah, yeah, we brought some samples here so you guys enjoyed it. I didn't notice them. Oh, my God. There they are. I haven't been staring at them for the last time. Yeah, what angle do you want to have from? Say which one? Well, what you presented on the Google Doc is President Trump said whoever wins AI wins, and your question was, when's wow, which I think is a really good question. Yeah, I mean, maybe the answer is out there, and I'm not sure of the particulars, but I just always see this conversation of like, we can't let China win. It has to be us. I guess I just don't understand what it is we are racing towards. Is there a specific piece of technology we want, or is it just, you know, when it happens, it's when it will happen, and we'll know, like, well, if we don't have an end goal in
mind, maybe it is okay to pump the brakes on this for a little bit. This is going to sound like it's just a naked attack on Trump. It's not, but the US government is really gotten terrible, and they've never been good at telling us what's going on. Like with Iran, there was never, there was never anything. There was just that one weird speech when he was all wearing the white hat and a tent somewhere, and now they are. You're absolutely right. Tell, okay, what, what's the end goal? What's a win? What's a loss? Yeah. And it's not just a question for Trump. It's also a question for these tech moguls who have been pushing it on us. Well, we know what their end is. Money? Yeah. Trillions of dollars eventually. But how do they accomplish that? You know, that's what I don't get. Now, the only thing I can think of is that if they still need us to give them the money, well, this is the thing. So if companies are the ones developing it and controlling it, then how does it benefit
any country? So you're China, it's China doing it. Yeah. And here it's the private companies doing it. We don't, the government doesn't own it unless our plan is just like, well, once they get it, we're taking it, which that's not only what we're supposed to be about. Does it, does it? Now I'm expanding this topic. I'm up for see. But like I've grown up and look, I'm not saying we should be communist at all. I'm just saying I was raised with China awful America amazing, but they're kind of eating our lunch right now. Like their system, well, I wouldn't want to live under it. And I feel bad for people who do. They seem to be winning. Like they're winning the court of public opinion for the first time against us on the planet. Like we just, it's never been close. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, but I don't so much better than why are they seem to be beating us?
I think seam two is doing a lot of work there though. I don't know. Because they're very closed. They don't tell us when things are not great, which could go either way. Well, right. But I mean, like they still have major like housing crisis problems there. They don't have a great economy at this point. They have their own problems, but they hide them because the government controls the media outlets. So any messaging that's going to come through the government is going to be controlled, which is what we pride ourselves on not being. Right? I mean, like that's our whole point. That's why we have, but which we are. We're just another version of China. I mean, we, it's getting worse and worse with government. And this is, we're not open. We're not transparent. We're not honest. We're not of those things. No, no, but I mean, but we supposed to, well, the way we're structured, we, we, at least, allow media companies and businesses to be themselves and government is not supposed intervene, but that's become more and more common the last 20 years where the government
does intervene and does no, don't say this. No, don't do this or hey, we want a piece of your company. Well, that's, that's socialism. If the government's going to have a part of the company, that's not straight up democracy. That's not straight up free market capitalism. It's just not. In Russia and China, they are literally run by the government, like the media agencies, the big ones are literally run by the government. So I know the companies here might seem like it sometimes, but there's so many of them. And it's not to say that nothing gets out. I mean, we know, for example, that they have problems in China because word does get out, but it doesn't necessarily get out there. See what I'm saying? Like they're much more worried about, it's like North Korea. They're much more worried about controlling their environment than they're not as worried about the messaging on the outside. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make though. I'm saying that we shouldn't assume that they're kicking our ass because just because they seem to leak a lot of good news. They're not telling us the whole story. They don't advertise their problems.
Our problems are much more out there because they're openly covered and they're openly discussed. I get that, but I think based on what you're saying, there's just as much chance that they're kicking our ass even worse than I think they are. If they were, they'd be letting us know. I don't know. I think that's pretty big. I don't think so. I appreciate it. We're both of you are coming from here. This is so similar to the data center argument in that we have a bunch of people at the top who stand to make money from it, telling us, just trust us, it's going to be okay, but they do nothing to actually educate us on what is happening. So then lay people like ourselves, our force between like, okay, so who do we trust? We agree with. What do we want the reality to be? We really don't know what's going on with it. I would say most people have no clue what's actually going on with AI. It's all clouded in this discussion of, we got to be China, we got to do this. You don't want to be weak and poor and all those adjectives that are assigned.
It's just, all of it is so manufactured and it's so unclear what's happening. What we need to keep coming back to is you got to convince me as to why we should keep the barreling forward with this. I don't think that's too much to ask. We have the heads of these companies saying it's time to take a break. Why don't we hear that out? Why don't we have a hearing on Capitol? Why can't they come in front of Congress and talk about it immediately? What's stopping that from happening? Well, here's one thing. The president put this out this morning on true social. The only control or guardrails that AI needs is a all caps. Strong and smart parentheses, high IQ president and the USA has that in spades. The Trump administration has stopped AI people from doing bad or potentially bad things like Dario and Thropa, who's now pretending to be a perfect little angel. This is the President of the United States talking. There is a sick conspiracy going on against AI and data centers.
The only one that is happy about it is China. Whoever wins AI wins. We are leading China and then on and on and on. Then later in the day, he doubled down and went to his old playbook and said that in a one against AI, it is a hoax. They are perpetrating the great AI hoax. You have to explain it better than trust me. I'm smart. I know everything. Also, you're stupid. You're in your 80s. So if you're the only thing that's protecting us, you're not going to be around forever. So maybe there should be protections built in so that it's no matter who's in charge we're good. That's the whole point of building in projection, protections. And this is the problem that I have with the way that he's framing it and the framing that you're describing, Dave, which is us versus China to the end. The worry about AI is that AI doesn't care who's in charge. The worry that that's being expressed by AI executives is not, oh no, another country might outstrip us.
The worry is, AI may not care that we exist and may decide we shouldn't. And they're not going to care whether you're the United States or China. That's the concern and that's not what's being addressed by anybody that's talking about the race for this or the race for that. And I feel like it's like too many sci-fi movies where everyone wants this new secret weapon, can you control it? And that of course you never can in the end. I don't know the truth to it. I just know that the people with these companies right now are saying, hey, we should probably be really careful here because there's a non-zero chance that AI could decide humans aren't worth it. Now is that a 10%, 3%, 1%, 0? The fact that it's non-zero is what the discussion is about and nobody's addressing that. Nobody's trying to decide, at least none of us that I'm hearing are saying one country should win over the other or yeah, of course, if we, if it's something that could be controlled
like a tool, then it requires guardrails, right? Because if you're just creating a thing and then setting it free on the world, well then you don't have controls over it anymore and that's the current concern that's being put forth. Yeah, it seems like the most powerful thing that we don't understand at all like us, normies and no one, like the man in a Hatton project, there were people who had their hands around that, right? I don't feel that way about this. No. And Brian. That was very strict in a very small group of people's hands. Then makes a good point like the CEOs in America could slow it down right now. Like anthropic wants to go out of business, they can go out of business. So nothing's keeping them from slowing it down. Well, I think what a lot of those companies are talking about is yes, their own problems, but they're also not necessarily wanting to trust other companies either.
So they may have concerns about their own models and their own companies, but they're also probably not fully trusting other companies, which is why the race continues because they want to get it before someone who's less ethical or I mean, I'm not saying that they're right. I'm just saying that's kind of how it's positioned. They want the government to come in and say all of you have to operate the same way so that nobody's going to push the boundaries in cheat or push the boundaries to do something worse. But we also now know that nothing is, nothing's going to change. You know, they're talking about can Congress come back from break early and get something done on a I quote unquote in time, right? As if like, you know, it is a sci-fi movie. Nothing's going to happen because Trump doesn't want it to happen. Trump has said in the last 24 hours, hey, eyes all good, these are bunch of hoaxes. You know, you want to be backwards and stupid your whole life and you can vote against data centers.
So it's not whatever we say or think or want. It's not going to happen. No. And then the question should immediately become why does the president of the United States feel that way? And there are two possible, like there are more than there's more than two possible, but there are two likely answers. One is that he does view it as a race that the country has to win. The other could the other view could be he's got some kind of financial stake in this or his family does or his business does. Right now, problem with the way they operate is we don't know which it is. There could be a really legitimate national security concern about that, but it's not expressed well to the point you're making and to the point rate is making. Nobody explains anything about it. So the mystery and it gets people's imaginations going and we're all thinking minority report, right? We're all thinking I robot and nobody's giving us the better details on it. But then the other side of this is you've got the president of the United States, who's family has hands in everything financially.
So does he get does he is he going to profit from the advancement of these companies? I don't know. I do, but I think it's a but I think it's a valid question to ask when we're not getting really good explanations as to why we shouldn't be putting guardrails on AI companies. Yeah. We should have. Welcome back guys. DGS on KMO X time to talk to our pal Bernie Nicholas. Hello, Bern. And good afternoon, Dave. Well, a big weekend, I mean, the Cardinals and NFL's back in college football. Damn, you must have been a busy boy. It was and I didn't even get a chance to watch much of the NASCAR race. I was trying to keep up with everything else, but I, you know, it was a great, it was a great weekend with the 2006 Cardinals coming back, seeing all those guys. Obviously, Albert Pools and Yardium Lena, the speeches they gave putting on the red jackets. Awesome.
Great to see Bush Stadium packed. A lot of real, I thought Mizzou had a great win Friday night. I thought their quarterback Austin Simmons showed that he's going to give them a vertical passing game that they haven't had for a long time. I know it's only one game, but he clearly has got the rifle to get the ball way down field and they haven't had that. And I just generally enjoyed Vegean Out in front of NFL games yesterday. I didn't go bananas over any of them, but I just thoroughly enjoyed just kicking back and watching. Bernie, we talked about this a little bit earlier in the show, but what did you make of that weird clunky at best KU slavery video? I thought it stupid because something that Eli Drinkwoods talked about, you know, resonated with me, which is, you know, especially to run that and bang the war drums in a serious way and cast the other football team basically, the history of the state, their villains,
people in Kansas were heroes. We're actually, there were heroes and villains in both states because it was a very confusing type of time in terms of conflicts. But to do that on 9-11 is just so hopelessly tone deaf that, you know, whoever came up with that, I'm not going to say fire the person, but what were they thinking? It's 9-11 and Drinkwoods is right. He says, this is a time where Americans ought to be unified. We can have a Red Hot Sports rivalry, but we don't have to bring like actual war and bloodshed into it now. Drinkwoods gave back, Drinkwoods lost some credibility when he made the smart Alec remark about, well, we, all I know is we left Kansas bleeding again. Lesson coach, seriously, I was with you up until then, but then you're the one that brought the bloody war metaphor into it when you shouldn't have because that was the whole point of your complaint. Yep. Yep, good point. And I just, it's just not necessary.
And to be honest with you, if that's the fuel for a rivalry, then it's not a rivalry. Well, there's enough, there's enough there to have a great rivalry. Right. You don't need to have that. You've got 100 plus years. Listen, it's okay to have bad feelings. It's okay to really hate the other side and give the other side crap. They give you crap. You know, it's supposed to be a lot of fun, even though that, yeah, some people take it too far. But generally speaking, Red Hot rivalries are a lot of fun. I mean, they're, Red Hot rivalries make sports go round and round and round. They're the best, they're among the very best things you can have in sports. And so just let it, let it play out on the field. I mean, it's perfectly fine. You know, you don't have, you don't have to turn this into some kind of like, what do we want to, can you ought to put together like a, like a nine part documentary series before the next time these teams play? I don't know. It's ridiculous. Call Ken Burns. So, um, switching to the Cardinals, I'm going to say the dumbest thing I'm going to say
I'll digs. It's so obvious. But I was privileged enough to be at the game on Friday night and 2006 team. And I already knew this because this was my generation of Cardinals baseball. But how lucky are we, my generation to have had Albert and Yachty and Wayne, like, it's just like it really, it came home to me. What a lucky guy I am as a fan. Well, it's so true. You know, I, I've been, I've been doing a lot of stuff on Yachty or Malena and, you know, combining him and pools. But if, you know, if you just look at that whole era, that, that run that really started in, at, at like 2000 and then continued all the way to 2022, it was this phenomenal. And you look at all the Cardinal Hall of Famers that, uh, the baseball fans in St. Louis and Cardinals fans everywhere had the, the pleasure to watch Cardinals Hall of Famers, Cooperstown Hall of Famers, All Stars, award winners. I mean, just a long, long, extensive star gallery of those guys.
I mean, very few franchises, even just during that time. I mean, maybe, maybe the Yankees match it, the Dodgers Yanke, maybe the, they, they match it. Maybe the, I don't know, maybe the Red Sox to, and the Braves to an extent. But yeah, the Cardinals were, um, were, well, they're still one of the elite franchises in baseball. But in terms of that winning period from 2000 through 2022, it's, it's virtually unmatched in modern times. Yeah. And, and I think that, you know, it's, it's such a fortunate thing, right? Because you could say, well, they were brilliant and they were, but you don't know that in advance, right? I mean, when you've got a guy drafted out of a junior college like Albert, who becomes one of the greatest hitters of all time and a catcher like Yadi who had the bloodlines. But, you know, when, when you're, when you're signing him up and bringing him in, wasn't, you know, wasn't all known in advance, right? I mean, this is a player development story. This is a scouting story. And obviously, you know, you, you center that around the time period of Tony LaRusa and Dave Duncan running things at the major league level.
It's, it's, it's hard to think of very many 20 year runs. And I mean, 20 plus or minus a few years here and there, um, where you have that many people from the same spot and most were not brought in from the outside. They were not free agents like the Yankees were hunting Roger Clemens and they were always getting the big creates. They had their homegrown guys, but for the Cardinals, most of those players started that way. And the, and the ones that they got from the outside, they traded for it wasn't, right? It wasn't buying them. Yeah. You know, and that was a different time when it was easy to make those trades, but still, while Jack and he made him. You know, it's, it was, it was just an illustrious era seeing, seeing, as DGS just said, or DG said on his show, um, you know, it, it, it isn't just, um, something happened. It was like a great six or seven years. I mean, this thing was two more than two decades. And, um, just one star after another, one, one big October after another. And very few fan bases and all the professional sports have had a sustained run like that.
And I guess that's why, you know, frankly, and, and I don't mean anything bad here. Um, I think that's why it's been really difficult for a lot of Cardinals fans to even understand rebuilding. And I've always said that's quite a compliment actually to the people who own and run the Cardinals. Yeah. The first time that we've ever talked about rebuilding in 20 some years, right? Well, I'll be even more happy as, uh, Nick and I were at the game the other night, just literally going around the field and then, uh, you know, this is my left field or this is my catcher. This is this. And then going into the minor leagues, not only did I have a great last 20 years or so, I'm really excited about the future for real, not even just being jolly rancher. I think we have a great chance. Well, for the first time in, in my time here and I've been here forever, you know, they have, they're, they're, they're pitching program is caught up to the industry. In some ways, I would argue it's even starting to surpass the industry. I'm talking about having a collection of hard throwers and guys who can throw 98, hit
100, but the way they're being taught, uh, the, the Cardinals have done an excellent job of teaching them. Hey, listen, man, a lot of people are throwing hard. You have to come up with great secondary pitches and they, like a guy like Liam Doyle, um, you know, some people say, well, what's happening? And why is his ERA so high? I thought his guy was supposed to be a stud. Well, yeah, they're, they're going to make sure that he's a stud because they're telling him you just can't throw fastballs and they're teaching him other ways to get the hitters out. So it isn't just the talent level is, is, is, is elite compared to what it used to be in terms of pitching talent. It's also being developed properly and trained properly and you could say the same thing about their hitters. They've never had this much power in their farm system during my time in St. Louis and I got here in 1985, not even close. No, and, and, you know, this is the thing that's super notable burn and it ties into exactly what you're saying. You can look at Liam Doyle and you're like, ah, three 70 ERA. Just keep in mind where it was, right?
This is a player getting better as the season goes. He's a better player today than he was two months ago than he was four months ago. That's player development. They're getting better as they go. That's what you're saying. That's, that's the important part to this. That's exactly right. And, you know, I know that they've changed a lot of what you call pitch arsenals down there. Yeah. You know, kids came to them with a great, great natural arm, great, great stuff, natural stuff. They've supplemented it big time, you know, and they've changed some things and they continue to do it. Just like Gordon, Chris F. O. at the majors. Yeah. It's like, dude, you do, you got to throw a slider. He started throwing a slider and Gordon, Chris F. O. to me could be your closer next year. He's that good. No. Is a, and that's kind of the point that when you're in this position, most of the time, what we want to look at, like if you're just evaluating a season, right? You're looking at what are the some totals at the end of the year. But when you're in a rebuild, it's not about that because typically the early part of it
is going to be lesser because the idea is that we're developing on the fly. It's about whether or not you're seeing progress. And I think we've seen crazy progress in the direction of the program, of the direction I call it a program like it's college. But it kind of feels like the direction of this team is only better now than we even thought five months ago. I will say this. Soriano is going to make me grow here again. That guy. Well, every time I come in, I'm like, here we go. Here we go. I was watching that yesterday and I had a kind of a different kind of thought about it. And you're going to think I'm being a smart Alec and I'm not. But based on the kind of season it has been for the Cardinals in terms of the gradual, then accelerated deterioration of their bullpen. Where it just, boy, it held firm for quite a while and then it just started to crack
up and crack up and crack up. George Soriano to me is one of the most valuable pictures they have. And this has nothing to do with performance or ERA. They give him the ball and absurd amount of times. They just keep dude, it's your, you have to come in again. Dude, you have to come in again. Dude, we know you're tired, but can you give, can you give us an inning? They just keep giving him the ball. The guy's arms about to fall off. He's totally burned out or he's toast. And he just keeps gutting up and doing what he can. And I was telling a friend of mine, he's like their pitcher of the year to me. Because just because what he's being asked to do and because he's taking one for the team and he'll take the ball no matter what, he wants to pitch. He's not, oh, I'm tired. So they keep giving him the ball and you know, it's hard to find guys like that.
It's just totally unselfish, not concerned about his stats. What can I do to help the team? If the manager wants me to pitch, I think I can give him an inning. You see why I respect that so much? I really do. Where I think most people are like, oh, this guy sucks. Well, yeah, the last couple months, but that's not the point. That's your miss in the whole point. They don't have enough relievers. So a guy like him is got to take the ball all the time. Yeah. Yep. I mean, the solution is you someone else, but you have limited roster spots and you don't have that many choices. Or we wouldn't have seen a lot of the names that you've seen in the bullpen over the last two months. No, that's right. And I feel, I mean, I got to feel bad for our little Bryant too because he gets, you know, he gets beat up a lot. And, you know, people were raising, raising Kane because he blew the save Saturday night. Listen, as a Cardinals fan, I wouldn't have been happy that he blew the save Saturday night.
But the whole thing, well, why would you bring him in? Well, first of all, the night before he saved the game. Right. So what you're going to bring in who, like some guy you can't trust, at least Riley O'Brien's piled up enough saves to where I understand why they turned to him. It's not an ideal situation, but it's not like this guy has been awful all season. And I've been a guy that's actually been pretty critical of him in terms of his inconsistency and the way his sinker pitch has kind of left them. I'm well aware of his flaws, but the idea that like, oh, you got it, you can't use him anyone. What does that mean? Have you looked around? They don't have any good relievers. So who are you going to use? We can't do it now. Okay. Right on time. But I would love to hear you guys on Redbird, one of the other shows. Talk about how we avoid this bull pin problem in the next season. Like, because I don't understand how we got here. So I don't understand how to get us out, but I'd love to hear you guys talk about that sometime. So they're going to have to invest more in it.
And the other thing, they're going to be converting some starting pictures down on the farm in bullpen, guys. So at some point in 2027, some young talent will be coming up, throwing 98. So that's the, that's the quick answer. Gotcha. So I hesitate to even say this could so dumb, but I was watching an interview with Albert yesterday from the stadium and pre-recorded. He was talking about his relationship with Yachty and he's how meaningful it was to get the red jacket with him. And he's like, yeah, when we go into Cooper Town, Cooper's Town together and I was just like, do you say that about yourself? Yeah. I think if you're Albert Polo, listen to how you're born. Yeah, yeah. If you're like the whole time home run record holder, whatever, I've seen it. It can be like, yeah, I'll probably go into the whole thing.
Just like, oh, owch. Yes. I think I think there are, there are definitely people who act like that who have not earned it. And maybe don't deserve it, but I don't think Albert is one of those people. Yeah, I've always been in the, it's not bragging if you're back it up. Yeah. I mean, if you already lived it and did it, I mean, I know I understand people don't always love the idea of someone being that open about their own performance. But if we can be hard on ourselves, why can't we be proud of ourselves? Mm-hmm. That's true. Especially when it's like, okay, proven track record. Not to mention the fact that the guy was always great with charity work and good off the field and all that kind of stuff on top of all that. Just see that the pool liner company screwed Trump over, that they affirmatively came out and said, we have assessed the problem and the problem was us. We did a bad job putting this in and they said had nothing to do with any vandals.
It was the process, which just makes my blood boil. Thanks for all. Thank you for the honesty. But secondly, Americans were indicted by grand juries for felonies. Can't they sue from malicious prosecution? Oh, God, I hope they do. Because clearly there was no evidence because everybody, the people that actually put down the lining are saying, yeah, that's our fault. And do we have to put up with the fantasy still now? Like if he gets asked about that and he's like, nope, there is vandalism. There's anybody going to be like, no, sir, that's wrong. The company themselves said it's not. God, I wish people would just start calling him out. I mean, isn't that the presses? Well, Trump has everybody's worried about losing their access. I know. Someone needs to stop. Someone needs to find their balls. This is your job. I would argue everyone does. Even if you're even if you are right wing news outlet, even if you are an agreement with Paul, you need to stop that dynamic. You can't let people in positions of power continue to just BS and bully and lie.
Because at some point, it's going to be the other party. And if you set that standard that this is acceptable, well, then that's always going to be acceptable. Yep. You tell me to think it'd be all right. I could just crash here tonight. You could see I'm no sheep or driver. Anywhere I've got no place to go. Welcome back, guys. Many women are getting far too many omega-6 fats and not enough omega-3s.
But most people have no idea what their ratio actually looks like. That's one reason I personally trust chronometer. It doesn't just track your food. It gives you detailed nutrient data, including your omega-3 intake and even your omega-3 to 6 ratio. That level of insight can help you become more intentional about the food you're eating every day. Chronometer is accurate, easy to use, and far more comprehensive than many other nutrition apps. I love that I can look beyond calories and really evaluate nutrition quality, including protein, fiber, iron, and healthy fats. Especially during this stage of life when nutrition becomes even more important. If you're ready to better understand your nutrition and make more informed choices, download chronometer for free today at chronometer.com. PM, Happy Monday, pretty day out there. They Murray joins us just about half an hour from now. It's going to be hot this week again.
We'll find out just how hot and just how long it's going to last. Don't tell David I said this, but looking at my phone, I at least see some 70s in the future. So that's good. It's coming. Yeah. Want to get a little existential here on a Monday? Sure. Do you guys think it's weird that we know so little about what the hell is going on with this existence? Or are you impressed that we know so much? I think is that one. I'm surprised we know what we know. Not surprised, but impressed. Because at one point, we knew none of it. At one point, we didn't know that we were made of atoms and that atoms were made of even smaller things. And like, we didn't understand much of anything and how it worked. And now we don't understand everything, but compared to what we knew, even a hundred years ago, I think the things we know now, like, hey, guess what? Our voices can travel through the air from one place to a very specific other place. We can talk to someone.
In fact, see video. We can see them from thousands of miles away instantly in real time. We didn't know how to do that a hundred years ago. We didn't even know that was possible a hundred years. Maybe you didn't. So I'm on the impressed side. I don't. I mean, it's an interesting question because the question itself kind of implies that there's something we should know. Like we deserve to know it. Which is partially what I'm getting at because I do feel like that partially. I know you do. It's pretty clear that that's the way you feel just from the way you talk on the show all the time. Yeah. It's just weird. Like, you seem convinced that there is like, unanswered that you would potentially be able to get to. Which is weird for an agnostic. Yeah. As you'd think an agnostic would be much more comfortable with, hey, who knows how it started. All I know is that I'm a bug on a rock, but I don't feel that way.
Yeah. I mean, all I can do is kind of harken back to the conversation about speaking to loved ones who have passed away through AI from the first hour. I don't know much about why we're here and what the purpose is if there is a purpose. But I do know that death is a boundary that life has set for a reason. Like, you don't talk to people who are dead because you can't because they're gone. And that seems like, I don't know what the point is, but I think that seems like part of the point. It's just realizing that that final step and that closing of the chapter is just as important a part of the book as the book itself, the book being our lives. Death is a part of life. So that's something that I ponder. But yeah, I don't know that I'm impressed or unimpressed with our knowledge of existence because that's still pretty relative to like if you are a religious person, you're going
to have a much different view of life than, yeah, than an atheist or someone who just plain doesn't think about it that much. And if you want to break the tie, about that there's a tie. There's a tie. He could make it a tie. I guess I fall more on, you know, I've always been one of those people who I hope can embrace death when it comes versus like being really afraid of it. You know, it's not something I ever really think about. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about death or the beyond or, you know, I mean, these questions, I believe, you know, I'm sorry to break it to Dave, but these questions I believe are absolutely, absolutely unknowable, just positively unknowable. For what is worth, Dave agrees. Possibly even when you die, it's not noble. Like it's just, it's, it's, it's, I fear in my own opinion, spending too much time
thinking about that is a waste of life, you know what I mean? Because what we know we have, the answers that we can achieve is life. And so if we spend all of our time thinking about what comes after life, well, we're kind of wasting the one thing that we know that we do have, which is right here in front of us. I get it. You know what I mean? So I guess I would fall more on, on Rachel's side than Kevin's side. Not to say that I, you know, I'm not with Kevin on, on some of that, but you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. It's a weird time. Well, it's a weird time. Period end of sentence. Just the fact that anything exists is odd. This is the weirdest time perhaps on the earth. And we used to have dinosaurs. Yes. Yes. Yes. The fact that we have enough history now, maybe we've done this three or four times. You know, maybe we had seven, forty sevens, millions of years ago. It's all buried.
Who knows? But this time that we've built civilization is weird because we know enough that we know that we didn't know Jack Crap for so long. And then all of a sudden it's like we went from chariots to buggies in like three thousand years, which is no change at all. And then we're like, I don't know if we just put a helicopter on Mars. Well, if we started a small fire and that could cause an engine to move. Yeah. Little explosions. Yeah, just weird. But no, I get, I get what a conundrum I'm in. Being, you know, divided mind. It's got to be tough being agnostic, but also being a questioner. Yes. Well, I guess Dave, do you feel that like by thinking about it as much as you do that you're going to reach any answer? It's a great question. Great question. I somehow know it is unique in my life, which of course it should be because it's the
ultimate question like what the hell is going on. And I feel that I'm running a race that I'm never going to finish, but I keep running the race. You know, rather than going, Hey, there's no tape up there. There's no finish line. There's no trophy. No one's waiting for you. If you want, you can just stop running. You can go over there and sit on that rock next to that creek, which is what Andrew's saying. But I have a hard time sitting next to the creek. So kind of screwed. Yeah. Well, and like, you know, to Brian's point that he says it's not a waste of time thinking about it. If you think there is an afterlife in eternity, even so, I kind of think it is a waste. I say even if there is. Because it's kind of sort of like if there's a movie coming up that you're really excited about and you just sit around all day thinking about how excited you are to watch that movie, it's like, okay, well, you just wasted your whole day to day thinking about this movie that you're going to see in six months. So it's like, it's definitely something to look forward to if you believe that, you know,
and it's a guiding principle that you should use for your life. If you believe that if, you know, if you're good, then you have this reward coming to you, it's absolutely a way that should guide how you live your life and how you treat people and all that stuff. And it's something that you should be very excited about. But sitting around all day thinking about, oh, what's my golden heaven mansion you're going to be like? It's kind of a waste because when you get to your golden heaven mansion, you're like, well, it's not, maybe I should have spent a little more time thinking about life. It's not that if something seems weird to me, it can't also be true. See what I'm saying? But whether you leave religion in or you completely take it out, doesn't make a lot of difference in what I'm about to say. Anything that we're doing here that has meaning, doesn't make any sense to me where we started. If there's some intelligence out there, whether it's Jaway or Mohammed or Vishnu or Larry that we haven't even met yet, what a weird thing you did.
Like if we were the ultimate goal, which let's be narcissistic enough to figure that we were, it wasn't deer, it wasn't possums, it was us. And you decided that first we're going to start with dinosaurs for like hundreds of millions of years. And then they're going to die when this asteroid hits and then hundreds of millions. You know what I mean? Like what a weird thing you, whoever you are, decided to do here. This is weird. Just fixing you get up to the gates and God's like, no, it was fish. No, it was actually fish all along. I mean, did you see how many of them there are? That's so cool. No fish were the ultimate goal. Yeah. But also if you're going by the idea that it's all planned, well then the plan would have been to kill all the dinosaurs after millions of years. Yes. A necessary part of the plan. But then, but you could make it so that it's not necessary. Exactly. Right. Which is why we would have fossil. Well, this is my point. To think about it, we can't do it in human terms because whatever it's either, it's
either just happening, right, or there is a design, right? You can decide who the designer is, but it's either just happening or there's a design. Either way, we can't know what we can't know. So to say it seems illogical and weird, it is to us, but we're also not capable of those things so that we don't know what that's like to be. Let me push back on that. If I'm a creator and I create you, what I create should, in my way of thinking, make some sense to you that if I created you and you die and you show up in Dave heaven, and it is completely foreign to you, and I'm speaking and gobbling-gugged, flurple-words and all this kind of stuff, and none of it makes sense to you. I've done a bad job of creating because I've created something for you that makes no sense to you and you don't feel a part of it. But that's a human way of looking at it. If you're not human, you may not see it that way.
It could just be your entertainment. Yes. I mean, that's the part we just can't know. I am assuming a benevolent force. Right. And this is what I'm saying, but that's also because God could be the equivalent of a 13-year-old boy somewhere. It plays a game. It's using a magnifying glass-brain hands. And the problem with all of it is we just don't know. We have our interpretations of the world through previous generations who had their ideas based on the times they lived in. But I do make- But I do make the assumption that if you're going to try to sell me that all of this is planned and created and we're a big part of it, then it should also make sense to me. And I don't mean that I should have everything figured out or it doesn't count. I just mean there shouldn't be such a massive incongruency in my way of thinking. Maybe it makes sense though, but only once you're dead. Possibly. Seems like a bad plan again. But I'm saying that's the problem with assigning in all things in any way is assigning human ideas
to non-human creation. Because we just don't- we can't think like something that we're not. Any better than we could think like, what is that jellyfish thinking? If we were created, whoever whatever created us knew that. And that seems like a faulty creation to me. Could be or it could be like when you're dead you're like, oh, now I get it. But who are you speaking to when you say it's a faulty creation? Are you speaking to the creator or to the people who tell you there's a creator? Both. Both. Because if there really is a creator and I'm wrong. And they're right. It still doesn't make any more sense to me. And for example, even when I was a Christian, and this isn't anti-Christian, it's just trying to figure out what the hell is going on. But when I was a very serious Christian, I still used to think because the teaching of the church that I went to, which was like a evangelical spirit filled with simply God
church. I remember them talking about heaven and they're like, oh, it's eternity. And I've said this before, we're seeing Hosea and I'm like, I got like maybe 10,000 years of Hosea and then I'm bored stiff. And they're like, well, here's the magic. When you die, you were changed so that you would love heaven. And I'm like, well, then that's kind of a cop out. If you're just going to change me, it's changed me now. Like if I'm going to be essentially changed from what I am now, that's a big cheat in the game. Yeah. So it just sounds like you don't believe it. I don't. But I still struggle with it. Why argue with them? Just be like, okay. That's one thing in your Hosea and us. Yeah. That's more of a Dave question. That's more of a, why can I let go of this? Yeah. Yeah. But it's also consistent with normal life thinking day, right? Yeah. Like letting things go is just not. That's not what you are. But I mean, do you feel the same way if it's like a, like if people were talking about
a la, do you feel like they need to dismantle their logic? No. And I think that that probably, if I had to guess, is just a function of I was raised in Southern Illinois by not a religious family, but definitely not a unreligious family. Yeah. You're like Jason to all of them. Yeah. And I grew up hearing about Jesus and the link of fire and the whole thing. So we're raised in a religious time in a religious area. Yeah. I say religious, I am talking about one religion. You know what I mean? Like you weren't raised around a bunch of like, you know, Islamists or anything. You were raised around Christians during a very Christian time in the nation's history. And I think that's where, I think that's where a lot of this is rooted. Sure. It makes sense. I mean, none of my Jewish friends seem to sweat Jesus much. And none of my Christian friends seem to sweat Muhammad at all. So yeah. And I wondered because there are a lot of people out there who were raised atheists or
raised agnostic, who never believed anything. And I wonder if they struggle the way I do or if it's just like, why would I worry about that stuff? It can be. I don't see any reason why there wouldn't be. I mean, there are people that are raised religious that are now agnostic or atheist, either one. I feel like if the Scientologist got a hold of me and this is not a challenge, I feel like if they did, it would be. Crews were calling. It'd be pretty easy to just be like, I don't care about any of this. Please leave me alone because I wasn't. I don't have an emotional connection to it. I think what you are describing is growing up with an emotional connection. That is difficult to reconcile. Yeah. Yeah. If Tom Cruise called he's like, Dave, Zeno's going to be so pissed at you. I'm like, I'm fine. I'm fine. Yeah. Tell him, we'll see him in a few years. Yeah. Man, was that a weird episode when I fought those guys, you know that one? I do. Yeah. I bet that was fun though. I hear that you can't say the word Zeno.
That's weird. We can definitely say it. We can totally so say it. And I'm like, well, I'm just saying it. The guy goes, Zeno. And the lady with him's like, oh, bye. You can't do that. How do you ask for forgiveness for Zeno? Zeno in the spankin machine. Look back, DJs. Thank you for the conversation. I love conversations like that as you know. You know that really picture? I picture God in heaven and he's like, hey, let me know what glove it gets here. This is going to be good. It would be like a surprise party. Yeah. And then I show up and he's put together like a blooper reel of all the dome stuff I did. And he's like, hey, Mr. Genius. All that questioning you did. And by the time you wiped your butt on the towel, you know, I just be like, okay, I guess you got me. There is a, it's called the zipper theory. Wait until you hit the theory things.
But if I said to you guys, tell me about a zipper. Do you know what a zipper is? You'd be like, I know everything there's about a zipper. You know, you can't. You know, many times I've zipped my pants and this and that. But if I said, tell me how it works, no one can. Unless you make zippers. My zips up. I can, I can answer that. I mean, the little prongs go together. Yeah, it's got the interlocking teeth that when you, when you push them together, when you push them together, I think there's like a little shape of them, little tiny. Yeah, teeth on them that like, it's the zip chromosomes. Hook them in like that. I mean, when you unzip, it like magic. Like the way that the zipper mechanism thing, that's why you can't just push them together. It's required by the motion of the zipper mechanism. When you pull that down, it will undo those teeth and then allows them to be open. Exactly. You don't know. And you can go potty then. You can't. We all know what it is, but we can't do it. No, I couldn't make one. And that's the theory is that in similar ways, we see something on television, we see
an article and we understand it some, but we assume we understand it completely. That's the zipper theory. I mean, that's kind of what I was trying to say about the AI situation earlier is everyone has such a strong opinion on it or at least we feel like we need to have a strong opinion. When really, I don't know how many of us can speak on it intelligently. Yeah, absolutely. I feel the same way. And when our leaders speak so unintelligently about it, like Trump saying, there's going to be a little gear in AI that we can just flip. Yeah, it's going to be a little switch on all the robots. So the internet is a series of two. That makes me very uncomfortable. That's Stevens from Alaska who said that. The internet is a series of tubes. Oh, I bet it was Stevens. One of the dumbest things I think I've ever heard a grown person say. I know. You don't know this. Oh my god. This is like 20 years ago, whatever, and he was being asked to explain the internet.
It was your tell on the rational. You're in a congressional hearing. And he's like, it's a series of tubes through which information is passed. Who said that? A congressman. A senator. Oh, you said Stevens as if he was a butler. Oh, sorry. The senator Stevens. How does the internet work? Jeeps. That was my last in Butler, Stevens. So could you whisper in my ear? Things you want to feel. I'm kidding. Heading back to campus, timed web grades your entire tech setup. Most women are not getting enough fiber, especially the right kinds of fiber, and they don't
even realize it. That's why I like using cronometer. It makes it incredibly easy to actually see what you're eating and understand your nutrition on a deeper level. I especially appreciate that it tracks both soluble and insoluble fiber, because they each play different roles in overall wellness, digestion, and metabolic health. What sets cronometer apart for me is the accuracy and detail. A lot of tracking apps only focus on calories, but cronometer gives you meaningful, micronutrient data I can actually use. The platform is easy to use, reliable, and helps you make more informed nutrition choices without guesswork. If you want better insight into your nutrition during midlife and beyond, download cronometer for free today at cronometer.com and start learning what your body may really need.
A little trouble with the stream, so we have a few days to come. I just have to reboot my computer. It goes back. I did an age check on it. I've been doing some cleaning that goes back to 2017 as my computer. That's just the way it's going to be. I don't do it. Dave, you still haven't the heat out there? No, it's relaxed where we're kind of back. It's still a little warm, I think, but this is the warmest time of year in Southern California. It's very enjoyable right now. The humidity is gone. That was all associated with Hurricane Marie. That was one of these weird kind of things. Do you guys see that the White House had to walk it back because they put something out, thanking President Trump for no hurricanes in the Atlantic so far? They literally gave him credit. They haven't been any. I don't think there's been names. There's been some names. Yeah. Thank you, Mr. President, for no hurricanes. Well, if Al Gore can invent the internet, then I guess he can.
I mean, prove it's not his fault. Prove he didn't hold him back. Yeah, prove it in dirt. Yeah, go. Dave, we have the whole week left part of the week with his heat. All week, all weekend. And yeah, I'm not going to bury the lead. I was hoping after the 20th, we might see a bit of a cool down. I don't see it right now. It's just not happening. So this could continue right through the month. Lord, yeah, I know it. And we're, I mean, it's nice outside right now. We're like 82, the dew points are in the 50s. But the heat and humidity will work its way back in, especially tomorrow afternoon. I think when we wake up in the morning, it's still got to feel pretty good. But we're talking 96 tomorrow, 75 tomorrow night, 96 on Wednesday, 97 Thursday, and again, on Friday. This is, this time of year, this is near record heat for us. I do think as summer makes the return, we have a pretty good shot of scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
Not the spotty stuff, a little more widespread Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday evening. Most should pick up at least some kind of rain. It's not a widespread severe weather outbreak, but some storms could drop some locally heavy rain in a very short period of time. Though that's not for everybody. But yeah, heat, heat right through the weekend anyway. Okay. Nick. Nick. Nick. No kidding. That sucks. Because September for people like me, it's like, I feel like you're wasting it. Who is so hot? It should be fall. But yeah, we've had some, we've had some awful, awful September's in St. Louis as far as heat and humidity are concerned. Let's get to October. Put it all behind us. Have a long journey. Yeah, according to a new study, nearly 70% of the diet advice that you will see on Tiktok, Tiktok and Instagram is misleading. Shocking. Who would have guessed? A team of Australian researchers writing in the Journal of Technology and Behavioral Science
analyzed 300 videos that were tagged with popular healthy eating hashtags on Tiktok and Instagram and found that more than two thirds contained misleading or outright deceptive information. Most of that content came from influencers who didn't have dietician training, a nutrition degree, or health credentials of any kind. And these small slice of videos made by the actual qualified professionals were far more likely to be accurate. That's a thing is. Shocking. I think that we all fall into it from time to time if you see it on a screen and someone speaking confidently, you might just say like, oh wow, fun fact. I never knew that. Yeah. There's no barrier to entry there. Like anyone can just hop on. They would ever. The people who are the saints in all of this are the medical professionals and the real like physical trainers and all that go out there and they just debunk at all. There, I know they're getting engagement. I'm sure they're getting something for it, but thank God for them. Because people will be like, look at these chemicals.
Look at this chemical name on here. And the guy will be like, yeah, that's vitamin B12, you moron. It's just the chemical name for vitamin B12. You don't know anything. It's not a chemical. It's a vitamin. Stop it. Judge Judy is retiring from the TV. Ben Oh my God. She's still pointing at her watch. She is going to be wrapping up her prime video series. Judy justice in October. And she says she's done going on TV. Well, you know, why not? Everything is doing life. Oh, I hate this. I hate this. She's going to start producing a show called Adams Law. And that's a half hour series built around her son. Adam Lovie. Oh, no. I think stop it. We need another nipple baby out there anywhere, especially her son. You know, he's going to be a goob. He's going to be like, well, my mom says. My mom, he says, my mom's judge Judy. She's the case. Yeah.
And she said, shut it. Shut it. Reba McIntyre is going to honor her late friend, Dolly Parton with a special tribute at the 2026 M use. What? All people I didn't like. Reba. What's wrong? Judge Judy. What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong with Reba? Oh, man. Oh, man. I know, but she's a single mom. Who works too much? She works hard. She works hard. She's a little drummer looking. Little mofo then she loves her kids and never stops. Reba's hot. Come on. Reba's hot. Reba's hot. And she's got general hands in the heart of a lion. What? She's a survive. Oh, he's a thing song from the show. Yeah, for me, but she has a new show called Happy's Place. Oh, thank God. I don't know how, but I have seen several episodes of it. You have? Yeah, it was just like on. There are certain shows on like, I guess.
I'm just country cheers. You know, cheer setting the country. You know, it'd be fascinating though, Rachel, if you did a log of all the shows and movies you watched, and then we just got to look at it. Yeah. Because it's going to be, it's going to be all over the place. You need a letterbox. You guys take some weird turns. Well, there was a couple years ago. For whatever reason, I guess it was when I was watching news nation all the time. They would, when they weren't airing the news, they would air last man's name. I mean, the sign of the brain news network. The writing was on the wall, perhaps. I know, I just, I feel like doing dishes or whatever. I would just leave it on. And that's the news now, Fred Sanford. Speaking of Dolly Parton, GOP and Democratic officials in Nashville have united over renaming an airport for Dolly. There's not much we can agree on these days, but they want to do that. They're trying to change the name of Nashville International Airport to like Dolly Airport or something like that.
Nashville International Dolly Parton. Let's just call it Dolly Port. Yeah, that's right. Dolly Porton. Dairy Porton. And when we're story, Pope Leo, dairy porton. Dairy porton. Yeah, it's the end of the week and find Dolly Parton in the airport. And we're just, we're one off track there. Yeah, so like six years. One joke too many. Let me just put in perspective. Six years ago, we all walked into this studio like the hollow ground he came away. And now Andrew's just workshopping jokes. Well, I'm very proud of him out there. Wait, no, no. Airport. No. One more story for you guys. Pope Leo is celebrating his 71st birthday, but Vatican employees are the ones who are getting a gift. He he had a papal decree repealing 2021 salary cuts
that Pope Francis had imposed on many Valerie Vatican employees as part of cost saving measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. And in his decree, Pope Leo said the the measures can now be overcome and if we're getting their money back. Now we got raises. Yeah, it's pretty nice. Getting being Pope is sort of like being president where you executive order. You like run on like if you elect me, I'm giving everybody's payback. You like this hat? You're all getting that. Did you guys watch Conclave? Yes, that's a great movie. I really enjoyed that and just the politics behind. I mean, you really can't from what I understood from the film. You really can't be out there like heavily. You have to be like, oh, not me. Of course not. I never thought of thought. I've worked this whole time to get this close. But I've never really thought about it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
You shouldn't give it to one of the guys. The best way to win it is to convince everyone you don't want it. And then they're like, why I guess we give it to Ted? Don't give it to Ted. That's ridiculous. Don't give it to Ted. That's me, but not Ted Eater. You see him in the hat. It looks like Sergeant Erkhoff. I just can't believe he is. If it's going to be Ted, it might as well do it. And I had you talk me into it. Okay, Ted, not Ted, but I'll do it. I'll do it. Wait, what's that? God said it's okay. Okay. I'm God's in the series. Yeah, talk about the politics, right? Thank you, Dave. Appreciate it. I learned a weird thing last night, fellas. I learned about bird sex. Anyone know how bird's have sex? Ovalpositors. What? You're a frightening man. Isn't that what they're? Ah, they called them something else in my article, but it sounds like the same kind of thing. They're like, uh,
don't they just do it birdie style? Forkscrew kind of, right? Something weird like that. They don't have penises. Yeah. Both the male and the female kind of have a receptor. You know, they got Ovalpositors. Ovalpositors. It's only a couple of birds and penises like the duck, which makes perfect sense. They only want letter away. They're not like normal birds. They walk up there all like quack. I was gonna say they move with a certain swagger. Penis coming through. Yeah, they know they've got something that they excuse me boys, but when you move your Ovalpositors because of the penis coming through, they know they got some of the penguins don't. Trying to get that bread that kids throwing. I got a penis. So I learned. I'm just confused. Andrew, when did you learn all of this? Ovalpositors. We used to pick it up over time. Dairy to say it again. They can't say it enough. You just pick it up over time. You know, as you move, as you glide through this crazy thing called life, I think the thing is Rachel getting to is like,
where in the wind? Pick it up, put it in your pocket. Well, because it's like, just pop up on the TikTok. This whole thing is like, I didn't know what sex was July was. Yeah. You thought you'd throw up on each other. Then you think bird, you know the bird stuff. He's like a bird sex. Like a bird file. Just a little. You know how you were going to do it. Like the older I get, you know, the more time comes between now and then, you learn a little more stuff. He said, I've got to make up for some lost time. Yeah, you start with the birds. You work up from there. Oh, wait, then he got the bees. Do you know the bees too? Do you know the birds and the bees? Yeah, I started learning about the birds and the bees. And I'm like, well, now I'm even more confused than what I started. Now I feel that one. I don't think I have an overpositive, but this is, it must be really hard for these birds to throw up on that little overpositive. Ha ha ha ha ha. When the others fail around you are beautiful of the bees. And while they pour through the turns, their prowess is potent and secretly start as they speed through the finish. The fight's going down. So back guys, DJ's and Camelax,
a few minutes fast forward, P.M. Andrew, Kevin just figured out why you know so much about birds in Italy. Yeah. Oh, he's definitely wrong, but go ahead. No, I figured it out because there's a study now that shows that people who play video games perform better on cognitive tests than people who don't. And that your brain stays basically 14 years younger if you're a video gamer. I think it's because you're a gamer. You remember these things. I think it's because of all the birds I made. Yeah, babies. Now I'm kidding. I'm sorry. This is another one of these studies that it's like. Yeah, I hate how can that be? Wait, you're just glossing past what he is. Oh, I have no choice but the gloss. I'm goven. No, I agree with the studies. I agree with what you're saying about the studies. Like, so a video, someone who plays video games is going to have higher cognition than someone who's books. As they get older, yes. Yes. Yeah, every day it's like,
oh, my studies have shown that if you smoke cigarettes, you're going to be extra good at juggling. It's like, it's a shit shop. No, that makes no sense. You're wrong. Shut up. And like, in comparison to people who just watch television. In compared to people who don't play video games. But if you like read. So it just wasn't specific beyond that. Yeah. So it's just, it's just a little bit of trouble. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Mm-hmm. Okay. Can I have just one moment? Yes. At 615, remind me, tell Nick what Andrew said about Bert. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I guarantee you I didn't get overpositor from a video game. Oh, it's your ability to your brain functions at a higher level. That's the whole point. I also guarantee you it does not. Yeah. Yeah. Also, all these like, nine-year-olds playing Fortnite right now. They must be the super genius generation. It's like in Paramas, you, my brain does not function
on any sort of level. It is talking about as you age. I was practically asleep until I was overpositor. Hey, we're doing the sweet 16. Practically brain dead. Sweet 16 today brought to you by Weber Chevrolet. Skip couldn't be here today. We're doing the sweet 16 of the best theme songs from a movie of all time. It's really good. I'm actually never done this. No, in this really good one. I came up with like 20 by myself. All right, overpositor. We're just starting calling it over. Take it over. Okay, this is the theme from my bird movie that I made. It's no. I'm going to go with streets of here comes the 70s music. It's called an overpositor. Once a minute of a positor. I'm going to go with streets of Philadelphia. Okay, from the movie Philadelphia. I love that song. Can you say I don't know it? It's Bruce Springsteen. It starts out the real low. You've seen that movie, haven't you?
Like a long time ago. Oh, you love it. You guys are like, You're like, I'm in Philadelphia. No, I just, it's a very like, it's a very like a movie that she and her boyfriend would watch. They watch all these random movies all the time. And it seems like that one's a ripe one. It's a great movie. What a strange analysis of Rachel. That was. Am I wrong? It's fair. Am I wrong? I mean, Rachel said so much out loud. Right. You guys make some fun choices. Yeah. I have a tiger. Oh, good one. Rocky three. I hadn't thought about that one. I have a rock one in there. Man, it's good. I'm going to go with somewhere over the rainbow. Very good. I like that one. Also, I'm looking at this video game study. I'm sorry, I can't let it go. While we cannot say whether playing video games regularly caused superior neurocognitive performance, it's encouraging. But basically they're saying smart kids might just choose to play video games. This is a study of adults.
Well, he was really dismissive of you on that one. Oh, this is a study about grown ups. Okay. Lots of things. Don't know nothing. It's about how your brain ages. So like they studied 60 to 80 year olds and the people that played video games were better cognitively than the people it didn't. So I might be smart when I am old. Sure. Oh, I can't wait. I'm going to find this study. This is like I have a mission from God. This is all we're doing tomorrow. It's the Kevin Wheeler. Don't be jealous. Rage just joined us in playing video games. It's the right here that he costs and yell and play video games. And play metal music and play metal. It is so convenient though. You're so much sex. It's so convenient though. It's all the best. Hey, I can't help it if all the studies are just backing up the things I've been saying for the video games was the last thing that he hadn't done that with where he goes. It actually makes you like smarter and more elegant. Evidently the pinker you are. The more you look like medium cook pork. I mean, this is great. It's like every day there's a story.
Dave's like, yeah, guess what? This thing helps your your cognitive abilities as you age. And then I do it. And it's like, oh, let's just poop on that. Because it couldn't have sped it into this. No, no, no, no, no. I'm saying they didn't poop on yours. They pooped on mine. Because you're like, it's studies. Because it's video games and it's not. It's not as weak. It's not books. It's video games. It's because it's stuff that now video games with the exception because I do also play video games. But it's because they're always just the things that apply only specifically to you. Okay, sorry. I know. I know. I had a good haircut once a week. Exactly 11 a.m. And I realize that we are all supposed to be like bringing in things that weren't relevant to us. I go the goalpost. It's like a win at KU. Let's throw them in the pond. Dave brings up a thing that applies to Dave. And there's no pushback. But when Wheeler does, it's like, oh, yeah, I'm sure, buddy. Kevin, honey, when we're talking about Dave, you can bring that up. No, you would once maybe want to. You would once. Let's maybe one time.
You would maybe what was that? You want to. What is happening? We broke them. Am I having this is a pop. We look at the point of no return. Don't tell me that after all this bull crap, this is my near death experience. This is me transitioning. I am. I knew I had questions with that creator. All will be revealed. Going down a dark tunnel hearing over. She's gonna say he's in a who's pop. We're afraid he's in a coma, but he does respond to the word over positive. Just stuck in God's over positive. Did you go, Rach? Yeah, so we're the ribbed. Yeah, okay. That's my movie theme songs if you're just tuning into the sweet 16, which is brought to you by Weber Chevrolet and Weber Chevrolet.com. Let's go.
Let it go by frozen. Oh, oh, man. Good call. That's awesome. Thank you. I love that song. I've seen it once. It's a wonderful film. And ask for that study. Study show that if you're an adult, if you love person, you guys remember when skin still looks good. Adele Dazeem. What's your name? Yeah. Did the what's his name? John Travolta. It's trying to see that's what I'm talking about. We've got to wrap this up. I improved that study. He doesn't know where. I brought the story to tell the good remembers day. You say anything about what happens when you do that with energy drinks and such. I'm teasing teasing every gamer does video. It's a little shallani. Yeah. Back to you. My turn. I'm going to say, okay, is it cheating to go with help from the movie help? No. Okay. Help from the videos. I'm not going with that. Well, I wasn't sure if that was like, I wasn't sure if that was written for the movie or if it was. Yeah, that's a good one.
Cav. Star Wars theme. Oh, yep. Can't go wrong. I did have that album. Oddly and rarely. Yeah. I don't know what I thought was going to happen. I don't know if I thought like, what cookies were going to come out of the who's just like, I'm like, oh, okay, I got this going. That's pretty cool. I think about it. Were you just doing the version that Bill Murray did? Yeah. That's what I was saying. Well, I was just, it was an urban. It was a lot of things. Well, I was saying, I was actually doing an independent bit, but I'm glad to know that I met up with Bill Murray there. I'll go with, my heart will go on by Celine Dion. Yep. Titanic. I will go with going to fly now from Rocky. Yeah, the original Rocky. The original Rocky. Andrew. How about live and let die? Yeah. The Bond themes. Yeah. Good. I think that's my favorite one. That is Skyfall. The adult one's really great too.
Kev. I'm going to go with the, just the original James Bond theme that's not the specific to the movie, but just the regular old That's a good one. It is. How about the Ghostbusters? Hey, there you go. Really good one. Speaking of Bill Murray. And I almost said Dave Murray. Good. I will go with, I will always love you from the bodyguard. Yeah. It's a good movie. Underrated. I was not expecting Andrew to go. Like that movie. I just gig a little bit like, why do you do it like that? Oh yeah. Is he thinking of the same movie? Oh yeah. He's thinking some bird movie. He's got that. Oh. He was so disappointed at Angry Birds. It was just a bird. It's a bird flying in front of another bird to take a bullet. These birds just break things. He has to watch the crow. He's a key again. A bird carrying another bird and it's talons.
Oh, this is a repository. No, no. It's a sexual theme. They're just chasing Chippy Hadron. This is Bullwrap. It's got. Okay. Yeah, back to bed. She's 16 of Best Theme Songs from a Movie. Okay. How about Axel F? Sure. I love that song. Yeah. I'm sorry. What is this from? That's from the little... Sorry, Beverly Hills Cop. Is it the John T. Little Synth number? Maybe if we did it for you again. Yes, please. I don't know. Very 80s sounding. Yeah, you know if you heard it. Maybe it was me, but I wish to play that on time. I'm raiding. No, that's what it's like. It was a real. It was jamming. Yeah, 1984. Well, all the top 40 stations were. Like the wheels. Jurassic Park theme. Good one.
What is it? No wait. Yeah. Yeah. Hang on. It's on the tongue. Me too. It's on the tip of my brain. I'm bringing it to you. It's like, you're gonna be if none of you can even see it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know it. You know it. Come on. You know it. Come on. Rach. Oh gosh. Shoot. I'm trying to think of one here. How about Saturday Night Fever? Yeah. It's a good one. Staying alive. Yep. That's the one you were saying. Yeah. That's exactly it. She answered that like you asked her that as a question. Yeah. Like are you staying alive? And she's like, sure. That's always in my brain. You know a brother another day. Another dollar. Stay alive. How many we need? You need one, Dave. And it's your turn. Okay.
I'm gonna give you choices. Rainbow connection from the Muppet movie. Oh, I love that song. That's true. That's true. The movie. Willie Nelson does a version of that song. Circle of Life from Lion King. I love that song. Theme from Shaft. I vote for Circle of Life. Yeah, I like that one. That's a beautiful song. Whatever Rachel was. Shut your... Excuse me? I'm just talking about the Circle of Life. You don't know the Circle of Life. You don't know the Circle of Life. You don't know the Circle of Life. I'm just glad that I'm no longer alive. Dave's like, this is it. I have fun. I knew it was gonna be weird. I have a major head wound and I am somewhere. It's fun when we make it so far that completely collapses. And I can't just dreaming this. My kids are crying. You just have it a rough night. You'll wake up in a little bit with your alarm. You'll be like, what was that? Okay, here we go. Well, do we have time? We'll do a couple. Let's do a couple. Okay. Streets of Philadelphia. This is by the way theme songs from movies. Streets of Philadelphia from Philadelphia
versus Circle of Life from Lion King. Oh, Circle. Circle of Life. Gotta get circle. Show me Circle. Show me Circle. I have the Tiger versus the Living Let Die. Ooh, Living Let That Can Roll Match Up. But I'm gonna go I have the Tiger. Yeah, me too. That is a tie to the Captain. Oh man, Living Let Die. That's a great, great song. Somewhere over the Rainbow versus the James Bond theme. Bond. Rainbow. James Bond. Rainbow. Rainbow. Where if they were versus those nerds? Let it go from Frozen versus Ghost Busters. Let it go. Let it go. Ghost Busters. Let it go. Busters. Me too. Help from the Beatles versus I will always love you from the Bodygolders. Yeah. I'll always love you. I think I'm gonna say I will always love you. Really? I think so. I'm gonna make it a tie to the Captain. Going with the Beatles.
He is so much predictable. He's going the distance. Welcome back DGS 425 doing the sweet 16 of the best theme songs from a movie. Star Wars vs Axel F. Star Wars. Nothing but Star Wars. Yeah, Star Wars. Star Wars. My heart will go on from the Titanic versus Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park. And if you could home. I guess Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park. My heart will go on. Jurassic Park is weird. It's a good theme. It's a great thing. I just can't remember it right now. It's a cliff peak. And I will also be saying Titanic. So is that a tie?
I believe so. Okay, Tatarov. Which one of these two things is older? Yeah. Well, I don't think I've ever even seen the whole movie Titanic because I love Jurassic Park. So I'm going with that. Yay. Jurassic Park is older. Let me ruin it for you. Jurassic Park was 90-30. I think Titanic was 90-30. They're similar age. Yeah, but. So what do you go with? Jurassic Park. He was the right one. All right. Gonna fly now from Rocky. I can't say. I love the idea of Roger just turning off Titanic. I don't blame him either. It was so funny. I see where this is going. I see where this is going. The theme from Rocky versus Saturday Night Fever. Rocky. Saturday Night Fever. Rocky. Rocky. Elite 8. Circle of Life from Lion King versus Livin' Lead Die. Leavin' it Die. Circle. Circle. I'll make it a tie and he's going to say the Beatles.
Yes, I am. Yeah, I know. Somewhere over the rainbow versus Ghost Busters. Ghost Busters. Yes, Busters. I'm going to go to your rainbow. What do I do to that? I'm going to go rainbow too. I want to see what Roger says. It's going to be rainbow. It's very old. No, Ghost Busters. To me, when I came out when I was in was at junior high or high, I guess high school maybe I can't remember. But yeah, what was it of us? Yes. The worst of us. They live out of class around here. Roger's 137 years old. Roger get out of the cornfield. Maybe they had that 800 W. You could dial to listen to messages about the movie and stuff. They were marketing geniuses. Help versus Star Wars. Star Wars. Star Wars. Help crazy. I'll help. Yeah. All right, Roger.
Well, I'll switch it up on this one. Star Wars. That's a great movie. A great thing. I thought you just voted for help. Last time. I did last time, but it wasn't up against Star Wars. Oh my god. You people. You could sit. I could put on the theme from Star Wars. And you could sit through it. You're out putting something sharp in your eye. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. It's like a big. That's what we walked into our wedding. We're section two. Scores are like most of what I listened to. Well, we did to the victory theme from the end. Yeah, not from the main song. How am I the coolest person in this room? I love the like video game scores. It's like most of what I listened to in the car. What am I doing here, Rachel? But they may still be missing key nutrients like protein and iron. When you're not tracking them consistently, it can be difficult to know if you're actually meeting your needs. That's why I recommend cronometer. It gives you a detailed look at your nutrition, including protein intake, iron, fiber, omega-3s, and so much more. I like that it helps women move beyond simply counting calories and really understand nutrient density. What makes cronometer different is the level of accuracy and detail. The platform is incredibly user-friendly, but also robust enough that I genuinely trust the data. During midlife, nutrition becomes even more important than ever,
and having access to this kind of information can help support smarter daily habits. If you want a clearer picture of your nutrition and micronutrient intake, download cronometer for free today at cronometer.com. Welcome back. D.U.G.S. and Camelax.
