Hey, I arrived almost here. Are you ready? Just grabbing my shoes. That's what you said 10 minutes ago. I just wrapped a video call, uploading this giant file on my tablet, looking at my watch group and Nana's with the group chat, and of course, still lining up tonight's playlist on my phone. All at once? Yep, story of my life. That's why I switched to D-Mobile. They have the fastest 5G network. Okay, multitasker. I see you. Honestly, I never imagined I could do all this at once. It's awesome. Say no more, I'm totally switching. My post is taking way too long to upload. That's a sign you've got to get D-Mobile. So many reasons to join D-Mobile. Find yours at T-Mobile.com. And anywhere I've got no place to go. Welcome back, guys. D-M-G-S on camera. We'll ask you in this past 3 p.m. Happy Monday. Pretty day out there. Dave Murray joins us just about half an hour from now. It's going to be hot this week again.

We'll find out just how hot and just how long it's going to last. Don't tell Dave I said this, but I look at my phone. I at least see some 70s in the future. So that's good. It's coming. Yeah. Want to get a little existential here on a Monday? Sure. Do you guys think it's weird that we know so little about what the hell is going on with this existence? Before you impress, we know so much. I think is that one. I'm surprised we know what we know. Not surprised, but impressed. Because at one point, we knew none of it. At one point, we didn't know that we were made of atoms. And that atoms were made of even smaller things. And like, we didn't understand much of anything and how it worked. And now we don't understand everything, but compared to what we knew, let's even 100 years ago. I think the things we know now, like, hey, guess what? Our voices can travel through the air from one place to a very specific other place. And we can talk to someone.

In fact, see video. We can see them from thousands of miles away instantly in real time. We didn't know how to do that 100 years ago. We didn't even know that was possible 100 years. Maybe you didn't. So I'm on the impressed side. I don't. I mean, it's an interesting question because the question itself kind of implies that there's something we should know. Like we deserve to know it. Which is partially what I'm getting at because I do feel like that partially. I know you do. It's pretty clear that that's the way you feel just from the way you talk on the show all the time. Yeah. It's just weird. Like, you seem convinced that there is like unanswered that you would potentially be able to get to which is weird for an agnostic. Yeah. Right. Because you'd think an agnostic would be much more comfortable with, hey, who knows how it started? All I know is that I'm a bug on a rock, but I don't feel that way.

Yeah. I mean, all I can do is kind of harken back to the conversation about speaking to loved ones who have passed away through AI from the first hour. I don't know much about why we're here and what the purpose is if there is a purpose. But I do know that death is a boundary that life has set for a reason. Like, you don't talk to people who are dead because you can't because they're gone. And that seems like, I don't know what the point is, but I think that seems like part of the point. It's just realizing that that final step and that closing of the chapter is just as important a part of the book as the book itself, the book being our lives. Like death is a part of life. So that's something that I ponder. But yeah, I don't know that I'm impressed or unimpressed with our knowledge of existence because that's still pretty relative to like if you are a religious person, you're going

to have a much different view of life than, yeah, than an atheist or someone who just plain doesn't think about it that much. Did you want to break the tie about that there's a tie? There's a tie. He could make it a tie. I guess I fall more on, you know, I've always, I've always been one of those people who I hope can embrace death when it comes versus like being really afraid of it. You know, it's not something I ever really think about. I don't spend a lot of time thinking about death or the beyond or, you know, I mean, these these questions, I believe, you know, I'm sorry to break it to Dave, but these questions I believe are absolutely, absolutely unknowable, just positively unknowable. For what is worth, Dave agrees, possibly even when you die, it's not noble. Like it's just, it's, it's, it's, it's, I fear in my own opinion, spending too much

time thinking about that is a waste of life, you know what I mean? Because what we know we have, the answers that we can achieve is life. And so if we spend all of our time thinking about what comes after life, well, we're kind of wasting the one thing that we know that we do have, which is right here in front of us. I get it. You know what I mean? So I guess I would fall more on on Rachel's side than Kevin's side. Not to say that I, you know, I'm not with Kevin on some of that, but you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. It's a weird time. Well, it's a weird time period end of sentence. Just the fact that anything exists is odd. This is the weirdest time perhaps on the earth and we used to have dinosaurs. Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes. And the fact that we have enough history now, maybe we've done this three or four times, you know, maybe we had seven, forty sevens, millions of years ago.

And it's all buried. Who knows? But this time that we've built civilization is weird because we know enough that we know that we didn't know Jack Crap for so long. And then all of a sudden it's like we went from chariots to buggies in like three thousand years, which is no change at all. And then we're like, I don't know if we just put a helicopter on Mars. If we started a small fire and that could cause an engine to move. Yeah. Little explosions. Yeah, just weird. But no, I get what a conundrum I'm in. Being, you know, divided mind. It's got to be tough being agnostic, but also being a questioner. Yes. Well, I guess Dave, do you feel that like by thinking about it as much as you do, that you're going to reach any answer? It's a great question. Great question. I somehow know it is unique in my life, which of course it should be because it's the

ultimate question, like what the hell's going on? But I feel that I'm running a race that I'm never going to finish, but I keep running the race. You know, rather than going, Hey, there's no tape up there. There's no finish line. There's no trophy. No one's waiting for you. If you want, you can just stop running. You can go over there and sit on that rock next to that creek, which is what Andrew's saying. But I have a hard time sitting next to the creek. So kind of screwed. Yeah. Well, and like, you know, to Brian's point that he says, it's not a waste of time thinking about it. If you think there is an afterlife and eternity, even so, I kind of think it is a waste. I'd say even if there is. Because it's kind of like, if there's a movie coming up that you're really excited about and you just sit around all day thinking about how excited you are to watch that movie, it's like, okay, well, you just wasted your whole day today thinking about this movie that you're going to see in six months. So it's like, it's definitely something to look forward to if you believe that, you

know, and it's a guiding principle that you should use for your life. If you believe that if, you know, if you're good, then you have this reward coming to you, it's absolutely a way that should guide how you live your life and how you treat people and all that stuff. And it's something that you should be very excited about. But sitting around all day thinking about, oh, what's my golden heaven mansion you're going to be like? It's kind of a waste because when you get to your golden heaven mansion, you're like, well, it's not, maybe it's just been a little more time thinking about life. It's not that if something seems weird to me, it can't also be true. See what I'm saying? But whether you leave religion in or you completely take it out, doesn't make a lot of difference in what I'm about to say. Anything that we're doing here that has meaning, doesn't make any sense to me where we started. If there's some intelligence out there, whether it's Jawa or Mohammed or Vishnu or Larry, that we haven't even met yet, what a weird thing you did.

Like if we were the ultimate goal, which let's be narcissistic enough to figure that we were, it wasn't deer, it wasn't possums, it was us. And you decided that first we're going to start with dinosaurs for like hundreds of millions of years. And then they're going to die when this asteroid hits and then hundreds of millions. You know what I mean? Like what a weird thing you, whoever you are, decided to do here. This is weird. Just fixing you get up to the gates and God's like, no, it was fish. No, it was actually fish all along. I mean, did you see how many of them there are? That's so cool. No fish were the ultimate goal. Yeah. But also if you're going by the idea that it's all planned, well then the plan would have been to kill all the dinosaurs after millions of years. Yes. A necessary part of the plan. But then, but you could make it so that it's not necessary. Exactly. Right. Do we have fossil? Well, this is my point. To think about it, we can't do it in human terms because whatever it's either, it's

either just happening, right, or there is a design, right? You can decide who the designer is, but it's either just happening or there's a design. Either way, we can't know what we can't know. So to say it seems illogical and weird, it is to us, but we're also not capable of those things so that we don't know what that's like to be. Let me push back on that. If I'm a creator and I create you, what I create should, in my way of thinking, make some sense to you that if I created you and you die and you show up in Dave Heaven, and it is completely foreign to you, and I'm speaking and gobbling-gugged, flurple-words and all this kind of stuff, and none of it makes sense to you. I've done a bad job of creating because I've created something for you that makes no sense to you and you don't feel a part of it. But that's a human way of looking at it. If you're not human, you may not see it that way.

It could just be your entertainment. Yes. I mean, that's the part we just can't know. I am assuming a benevolent force. Right, and this is what I'm saying, but that's also because- No, God could be the equivalent of a 13 year old boy somewhere. You're playing a game. You're using a magnifying glass burning hands. And the problem with all of it is we just don't know. We have our interpretations of the world through previous generations who had their ideas based on the times they lived in. But I do make- And we built on that. But I do make the assumption that if you're going to try to sell me that all of this is planned and created and we're a big part of it, then it should also make sense to me. And I don't mean that I should have everything figured out or it doesn't count. I just mean there shouldn't be such a massive incongruency in my way of thinking. Maybe it makes sense though, but only once you're dead. Possibly. Seems like a bad plan again. But I'm saying that's- That's the problem with assigning in all things, in any way, is assigning human ideas to

non-human creation. Because we just don't- We can't think like something that we're not. And any better than we could think like, what is that jellyfish thinking? If we were created, whoever, whatever created us knew that. And that seems like a faulty creation to me. Could be or could be like when you're dead, you're like, oh, now I get it. But who are you speaking to when you say it's a faulty creation? Are you speaking to the creator or to the people who tell you there's a creator? Both. Both. Because if there really is a creator, and I'm wrong. They're right. It still doesn't make any more sense to me. And for example, even when I was a Christian, and this isn't anti-Christian, it's just trying to figure out what the hell is going on. But when I was a very serious Christian, I still used to think because the teaching of the church that I went to, which was like a evangelical spirit filled with simply God

church. I remember them talking about heaven, and they're like, oh, it's- The eternity, and I've said this before, we're seeing Hosea and I'm like, I got like maybe 10,000 years of Hosea and then I'm bored stiff. And they're like, well, here's the magic. When you die, you were changed so that you would love heaven. And I'm like, well, then that's kind of a cop out. If you're just going to change me, just change me now. Like if I'm going to be essentially changed from what I am now, that's a big cheat in the game. Yeah, so it just sounds like you don't believe it. I don't. But I still struggle with it. Why argue with them? Just be like, okay. That's what I'm singing your Hosea and is- Yeah, that's more of a Dave question. That's more of a, why can't I let go of this? Yeah. Yeah. But it's also consistent with normal life thinking day, right? Yeah. Like letting things go is just not- But I mean, do you feel the same way if it's like a- Like if people were talking about Allah, do you feel like-

No. You need to dismantle their logic? No. And I think that that probably, if I had to guess, is just a function of I was raised in Southern Illinois by not a religious family, but definitely not a unreligious family. Yeah, you're like Jason to all of them. Yeah, and I grew up hearing about Jesus and the link of fire and the whole thing. So we're raised in a religious time in a religious area. Yeah. And when I say religious, I am talking about one religion. Yeah, I mean, like you weren't raised around a bunch of like Islamists or anything. You were raised around Christians during a very Christian time in the nation's history. And I think that's where, I think that's where a lot of this is rude. Sure, makes sense. I mean, none of my Jewish friends seemed to sweat Jesus much. And none of my Christian friends seemed to sweat Muhammad at all. So yeah. And I wondered because there are a lot of people out there who were raised atheists or raised

agnostic, who never believed anything. And I wonder if they struggled the way I do or if it's just like, why would I worry about that stuff? It could be. I don't see any reason why there wouldn't be. I mean, there are people that are raised religious that are now agnostic or atheist, either one. Yeah. Like, I feel like if the Scientologist got ahold of me and this is not a challenge. I feel like if they did it would be... Crews were calling. It'd be pretty easy to just be like, I don't care about any of this. Please leave me alone because I wasn't... I don't have an emotional connection to it. I think what you are describing is growing up with an emotional connection that is difficult to reconcile. Yeah. Yeah. If Tom Cruise called he's like, Dave, Zeno's going to be so pissed at you. I'm like, I'm fine. Yeah. I'm going to be fine. Tell him, I'll see him in a few years. Yeah. Man, was that a weird episode when I fought those guys. You know that one? I do. I bet that was fun though. I hear that you can't say the word Zeno. That's weird.

We can definitely say it. We can totally so say it. And I'm like, why don't you say it? The guy goes, Zeno. And the lady with him's like, oh, bye. You can't do that. How do you ask for forgiveness for Zeno in the spankin machine? Welcome back to the podcast. Thank you for the conversation. I love conversations like that as you know. You know what? Really picture. I picture God in heaven. He's like, hey, let me know what glove it gets here. This is going to be good. It would be like a surprise party. Yeah. And then I show up and he's put together like a blooper reel of all the dumb stuff I did. And he's like, hey, Mr. Genius. All that questioning you did. By the time you wiped your butt on the towel, you know, I just be like, okay, I guess you got me. There is a, it's called the zipper theory. Rachel and I hate the theory things. But if I said to you guys, tell me about a zipper.

Do you know what a zipper is? You'd be like, I don't know anything there's about a zipper. You know how many times I've zipped my pants and this and that. But if I said, tell me how it works. No one can. Must you make zippers? Zips up. I can answer that. I mean, the little prongs go together. Yeah, it's got the interlocking teeth that when you use it when you push them together. But what makes them interlock? I think there's like a little shape of them, little tiny, yeah, teeth on them that like it's the zip chromosomes. Hook them in like that. Actually, when you unzip, it's like magic. It like the way that the zipper mechanism thing, that's why you can't just push them together. It's required by the motion of the zipper mechanism. When you pull that down, it will undo those teeth and then allows them to be open. Exactly. You don't know. And you can go potty then. You can. We all know what it is, but we can't do it. No, I couldn't make one. And that's the theory is that in similar ways, we see something on television, we see an article and we understand it some, but we assume we understand it completely.

That's the zipper theory. I mean, that's kind of what I was trying to say about the AI situation earlier is everyone has such a strong opinion on it or at least we feel like we need to have a strong opinion. When really, I don't know how many of us can speak on it intelligently. Yeah, absolutely. I feel the same way. And when our leaders speak so unintelligently about it, like Trump saying, there's going to be a little gear in AI that we can just flip. Yeah. It's going to be a little switch on all the robots. The internet is a series of two that makes me very uncomfortable. That's Stevens from Alaska who said that? The internet is a series of tubes. Oh, I bet it was Stevens. One of the dumbest things I think I've ever heard a grown person say, I know what you're talking about. You don't know this. I don't think so. Oh my God. This is like 20 years ago, whatever. And he was being asked to explain the internet. You're telling him. You're in a congressional hearing. And he's like, it's a series of tubes through which information is passed.

Who said that? A congressman. A senator. Stephen, does he have a butler? Oh, sorry. How does the internet work? Jeeps. That was my last in butler, Stevens. I can't do whisper in my ear. The things you want to feel. I can't get anything to feel it coming. Do you wake up on your own? I wonder where you are. You're the fireflies. I want to. Hey, I arrived almost here. Are you ready? They've married, joined us today. Hello there. A little trouble with the stream. So we have here today. I just have to reboot. I just have to reboot my computer. I said, goes back. I just I did an age check on it. I've been doing some cleaning that goes back to 2017 as my computer. Yeah. And that's just the way it's going to be. That will do it. Dave, you still haven't the heat out there? No, it's it's relaxed where we're kind of back. It's still a little warm, I think, but this is the warmest time of year in Southern California. So it's it's very enjoyable right now. The humidity is gone. That was all associated with Hurricane Marie. So that that was one of these weird kind of things. Do you guys see that the White House had to walk it back because they put something out thanking President Trump for no hurricanes in the Atlantic so far? Like they literally gave him credit. Yeah. They haven't been any. I don't think there's been names. There's been some names.

But yeah, it's a thank you, Mr. President for no hurricanes. Well, if Al Gore can invent the internet, then I guess I mean prove prove it's not his fault. Prove he didn't hold him back. Yeah, prove it in there. Yeah, go. Dave, we have the whole week left part of the week with his heat. All week, all weekend. And yeah, I'm not going to bury the lead. I was hoping after the 20th, we might see a bit of a cool down. I don't see it right now. It's just not happening. So this could continue right through the month. Lord. Yeah. I know. And we're, I mean, it's nice outside right now. We're like 82, the dew points are in the 50s. But the heat and humidity will work its way back in, especially tomorrow afternoon. I think when we wake up in the morning, it's still got to feel pretty good. But we're talking 96 tomorrow, 75 tomorrow night, 96 on Wednesday, 97 Thursday. And again, on Friday.

And this is, this time of year, this is near record heat for us. I do think as summer makes the return, we have a pretty good shot of scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms, not the spotty stuff, a little more widespread Tuesday afternoon and into Tuesday evening. Most should pick up at least some kind of rain. It's not a widespread severe weather outbreak, but some storms could drop some locally. Heavy rain in a very short period of time. Though that's not for everybody. But yeah, he, he right through the weekend anyway. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No kidding. That sucks. Because September for people like me, it's like. I feel like you're wasting it. Who is so hot? It should be fall. But yeah, we've had some, we've had some awful, awful September's in St. Louis. As far as heat and humidity are concerned. Let's get to October. Put it all behind us. Have a lot of rage. Yeah. According to a new study, nearly 70% of the diet advice that you will see on tick,

tick, tick tock and Instagram is misleading. Shocking. Who would have guessed a team of Australian researchers writing in the journal of technology and behavioral science analyze 300 videos that were tagged with popular, healthy eating hashtags on tick tock and Instagram and found that more than two thirds contain misleading or outright deceptive information. Most of that content came from influencers who didn't have dietician training, a nutrition degree or health credentials of any kind. And the small slice of videos made by the actual qualified professionals or former likely to be accurate. That's a thing is shocking. I think that we all fall into it from time to time. If you see it on a screen and someone speaking confidently, you might just say, like, Oh, wow, fun fact. I never knew that. There's no barrier to entry there. Like anyone can just hop on. They would ever. The people who are the saints and all of this are the medical professionals and

the real like physical trainers and all that go out there and they just debunk at all. Like they're there. I know they're getting engagement. I'm sure they're getting something for it, but thank God for them. Because people will be like, look at, look at these chemicals. This, look at this chemical name on here. And the guy will be like, yeah, that's vitamin B12. You moron. It's just the chemical name for vitamin B12. You don't know anything. It's not a chemical. It's a vitamin. Stop it. Judge Judy is retiring from the TV bend. Oh my God. She's, is she still pointing at her watch? She is going to be wrapping up her prime video series, Judy justice in October. And she says she's done going on TV. Well, you know, why not? Everything has been joy life. Oh, I hate this. I hate this. She's going to start producing a show called Adams Law. And that's a half hour series built around her son. Oh, oh, no, stop it. We need another nipple baby out there anywhere, especially her son.

You know, he's going to be a goob. He's going to be like, well, my mom says, yeah. My mommy says my mom's judge Judy. She's the case. Yeah. And she said, shut it. Reba McIntyre is going to honor her late friend, Dolly Parton, with a special tribute at the 2026 M use. All people I didn't like. Reba. Judge Judy. What's wrong with Reba? Oh, man. I know what she's a single mom. Her works too much. She works hard. She worked hard. She's a little drummer looking little mofo. Then she loves her kids and never stops. Reba's hot. Come on. Reba's hot. Reba is hot. And she's got gentle hands in the heart of a lion. What? She's a survived. Oh, he's that thing from the show? Yeah, from Reba. But she has a new show called Happy's Place.

Oh, thank God. I don't know how that I have seen several episodes of it. You have? Yeah, it was just like on. There are certain shows on like, I guess I'm. You know what? It's just it's just country cheers. You know what? She was sitting. She was sitting the country. You know, it'd be fascinating though, Rachel, if you did a log of all the shows and movies you watched and then we just got to look at it. Yeah. Because it's going to be it's going to be all over the place. You need a letterbox. You guys take some weird turns. Well, there was a couple years ago for whatever reason. I guess it was when I was watching news, nation, all the time. They would when they weren't airing the news, they would air last man. The sign of the brain news network. The writing was on the wall perhaps. I'd be like, do in dishes or whatever. I would just leave it on. And that's the news now Fred Sanford. Speaking of Dolly Parton, GOP and Democratic officials in Nashville have united over renaming an airport for Dolly.

There's not much we can agree on these days, but they want to do that. They're trying to change the name of Nashville International Airport to like Dolly Airport. Or something like that. Nashville International Dolly Parton. Let's just call it Dolly Port. Yeah, that's right. Dolly Porton. Dairy Porton. And when we're story, both Leo, dairy port. Dairy Porton. Yes, to have as if you combined Dolly Parton and airport. So Andrew just went off track there. Yeah, so like six years. Six years. One joke too many. Let me just put in perspective. Six years ago, we all walked into this studio. Like the hollow ground came away. And now Andrew's just workshopping jokes. Well, all right. Dairy Porton. Dairy Porton. Dairy Porton. Dairy Porton. No. One more story for you guys.

Hopefully, Leo is celebrating his 71st birthday, but Vatican employees are the ones who are getting a gift. He had a paper decree repealing 2021 salary cuts that Pope Francis had imposed on many valid Vatican employees as part of cost saving measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. And in his decree, Pope Leo said the measures can now be overcome. And if we're getting their money back. Now we got raises. Yeah, it's pretty nice. Do you think being Pope is sort of like being president where you like to order? You like run on like, if you elect me, I'm giving everybody's payback. You like this hat? You're all getting that. Did you guys watch Conclave? Yes, that's a great movie. I really enjoyed that and just the politics behind. I mean, you really can't, from what I understood from the film, you really can't be out there like heavily. You have to be like, oh, not me, of course not. Me, me, me. Oh, no.

I never thought of thought. I've worked this whole time to get this close, but I've never really thought about it. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. You shouldn't give it to one of the nine. The best way to win it is to convince everyone you don't want it. And then they're like, why does we give it to Ted? Don't give it to Ted. That's ridiculous. Don't give it to Ted. Love me, but not Ted Eater. You see them in the hat, it looks like Sergeant Ericko. I think it's gonna be me. If it's gonna be Ted, it might as well be me. That you're talking me into it. Okay, Ted, not Ted, but I'll do it, I'll do it. Wait, what's that? God said it's okay. Okay. I'm God's in the series. Yeah, talk about the politics, right? Thank you, Dave, appreciate it. That went so well on the ride. Hey, our ride's almost here. Are you ready? Just grabbing my shoes. That's what you said 10 minutes ago. Oh, anyone know how bird's have sex? Ova positors. What? You have a frightening man. You know what they are? They call them something else in my article, but it sounds like the same kind of thing. They're like, don't they just do it birdie stuff? Perkscrew kind of, right? Something weird like that? They don't have penises. Both the male and the female kind of have a receptor. You know what they got? Ova positors. Ova positors. It's only a couple of birds and penises, like the duck, which makes perfect sense.

They literally want letter away. They literally want duck. They're not like normal birds. They walk up there all like quack. I was going to say they move with a certain swagger. Penis coming through. Yeah, they know they've got something that... Hey, excuse me boys, but when do you move your Ova positor? Because the penis coming through. They know they got some of the penguins don't. Trying to get to that bread, that kid's throwing. I got a penis. It's what I learned. I'm just confused. Andrew, when did you learn all of this? Ova positor. We just pick it up over time. Dairy to say it again. He can't say it enough. You just pick it up over time. You know, as you move. You pick it up over time. As you glide through this crazy thing called life. I think the thing is Rachel getting to is like where in a win. Pick it up, put it in your pocket. Well, because it's like just pop up on the ticktops. This whole thing is like, I didn't know what sex was July was. Yeah. You've got to put it in your pocket. You've got to put it in your pocket. Then you think bird, you know the bird's stuff. You're like a bird sex. We're like a bird file. You just don't know how you were going to do it. Well, the older I get, you know, the more time comes between now and then.

You learn a little more stuff. He said, I've got to make up for some lost time. Yeah, you start with the birds. You work up from there. Oh, right. Then he got the bees. Do you know the bees too? Do you know the birds and the bees? Yeah, I started learning about the birds and the bees. And I'm like, well, now I'm even more confused with what I started. Now I feel that one. I don't think I have an Ova positor. But this is a... That's really hard for these birds to throw up on that little Ova positor. I just fell around to a beautiful Olivia. Hey, all right. It's almost here. Are you ready? Just grabbing my shoes. That's what you said 10 minutes ago.
