This is an I Heart Podcast. Guaranteed Human. So, would like to buy Asia-Ratherne or so, at least 70% have a phone. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls. We spend our surviving middle school run getting into what's happening inside your kids' brain, the group chat, and their friendships, and what you can do about it. Your child is not doing this on purpose. That's the kind of perspective we've been pulling from the psychologists and psychiatrists who study this for living. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Self-care September is your reminder to slow down, check in with yourself, get off your phone, and maybe ask why am I like this? I'm James Bek, host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and this month we're helping you make sense of the person that you are becoming, from setting boundaries and navigating friendships, to understanding anxiety, confidence, relationships, and attachment. Sometimes our biggest decisions, without us even realizing it, aren't driven by what we truly

want, but by what will prevent us from feeling lonely or being alone. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. I survived nine months in captivity, and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart, and these are the survivor files. Every week, I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable, abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. These are stories about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus, or this random dude is offering the ride on his motorcycle. I choose Option B. I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can

say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Listen to Solita on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Our hometown is not a test tube. 90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America plays out in one small town. The developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land. We need cities on a shining hill. This is R Town, a podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment and fights back. I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to R Town on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Today's show is pre-recorded. Oh, hi. Y'all know what time it is. Y'all don't know y'all been in so many. Oh, hi.

I don't have to shoot all. I don't have to talk to the dog. I'm giving them all. Just like the million bucks, bucks, things in the suburbs. You're gonna kill me too. Could it be a Steve Harvey boy? Yeah. You're gonna kill me too. You're gonna take that up a Steve Harvey. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna kill you. I'm gonna kill you too. Yeah. Oh, hi. You're gonna kill me too. Yeah. Y'all don't know y'all been in so many.

Oh I got to turn the mouth Steve, I've got to turn the mouth I'm gonna turn the mouth I'm gonna turn the world and I wanna go Ooh, ooh, ooh Yeah, yeah, yeah Come on, Steve Come on, dude You're a thing, make that it Uh-huh, I show will A good morning everybody You're listening to the voice Come on, dig me now Want it all, Steve Harvey Got a radio show Well I learned something And it is sharing time And I am all Ever appreciated Uh-uh, I do appreciate God For all that He allows me To learn in my life Well, one of the best lessons I've learned is that Hardship teaches you some great lessons

Challenges Brings about some of my best results I think what I'm trying to say is In every challenge and hardship Every setback I've learned something so, so valuable So here's what I've You know, I've known this but I've just learned it at a different angle Appreciation and gratitude Is the key to having more Now, I don't know how that sound to you But I can't tell you how true it is God being fair and just as He really is He really is, He's a fair and a just God What's most beneficial to us is He happens to be Full of mercy and grace And I'm telling you something man

I've probably benefited from His Grace and mercy More than anything else, I mean really Man, if it wasn't for Him just forgiving me And then for Him just Touching my life the way He has I mean I'm not, I'm not here in His position today, I'm just not But a funny thing has happened along the way Even to you if you look at it Is that your genuine appreciation and gratitude Has been the key to you having more For your continued blessings And making room For heaven to open up and pour out blessings That you don't have room enough to receive If you look at it See God being a fair and just God Which He is Why would He Put more on you than you can bear

If you've noticed Everything that's happening in your life If you're still here You've made it Forget how rough it was But you made it Forget what it sent you through And it had made you feel You made it Now what makes people give up And you hear about people committing suicide Is they leave the God out of their life And they start allowing that other voice to control And if it's really true that God never puts more on you than you can bear As long as you stay connected to God You can get through anything But you lose that connection You lose that communication You lose that relationship with Him If you're not having a relationship with God Then who you having a relationship with Now it ain't But two forces that work at all time Is good

And evil Is positive And negative Is God Is safe Now this is that work all the time So if you're not being positive about everything You leave room for negativity to step in If you're not trying to be righteous in your way Then you allow evil to step in If you don't work on your relationship with God Come on now Look who you letting step in So now I'm asking you To understand that God never puts more on you than you can bear Okay, now that we got that clear That's a fact Okay, now with that fact in mind Let's go over this right here Why would God be in as just and merciful As He is Put more on you than you can bear Example If God has given you blessings And all you're doing is complaining about Him

You're never showing any appreciation or gratitude about it Why would He give you some most of to be ungrateful? Why would He give you some most of to complain about? Why would He give you some more stuff that you would not show any more appreciation for? I mean this thing is real simple man ain't it? If you think about it So a lot of times when I was going through my positions of not having it And wondering and all like here I ended up checking myself and going man I'm not even showing any gratitude or appreciation for the things He has done for me Start showing some appreciation and gratitude Because it's the key to having more It's the key to continued blessings It's the key to the wonders of heaven opening up and pouring out a blessing That you won't have room enough to receive It's the appreciation and gratitude of what you already have As minimal as it may appear to be right now for you It is still what you have But if you've shown no gratitude for the minimal

Why would He give you the maximum? I mean I'm just really just trying to put it real real simple So I can keep understanding this thing right here So let me give you an example in my life I had gotten so busy at one point That I had began to complain about how busy I was This is true because I am busy But it ain't the busy part Because I asked to be busy You know I asked God to give me opportunities And to make a way for me Well in that you got to do something And you got to get busy But I began to complain about the busyness And how busy I was And I noticed that a couple of things slowed up for me So I got to the point where I wasn't Showing real gratitude for it

Well I looked up and a couple of things started slowing down And then I had to catch myself And I went wow man you have got to start embracing the fact that you are this busy Embrace the fact that what all comes along with it And what is giving much is required You got to start embracing the requirement part If you want to continue with the given part So I changed my attitude I caught myself And I started thinking and ensuring real gratitude for how busy I was Instead of complaining about how busy I was And then guess what? It opened up the wonders of heaven And some more blessings God pulled out It just works that way all the time For everybody, for me, for you, for everybody So listen y'all again Your appreciation and gratitude is the key to having more Your appreciation and gratitude is the key to continued blessings And your appreciation and gratitude Is the only way that you can get those windows of heaven

To open up and pull out these blessings That you won't have room enough to receive You got to act like you're glad for what you got In order to give more You feel me? You're listening to the Steve Harvey morning show By azer rather than or so at least 70% have a phone middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in I'm Dr. Joy and this is therapy for black girls We spent real time on it in our surviving noodle school run Bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological chaos happening all the same job We got into group chats and gaming friendship and bullying and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that a road's trust

There's belonging you could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted and then there's fitting in Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers sitting down with therapists cure games on black fatherhood And what it means to raise a daughter through this stage You don't have more shorts so you can't do flips you have on the dress you have across your legs That's the range of this run from screen time to identity to the fathers doing the work at home You have to get off her device But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adult in the life to miss out on This has been our surviving middle school run brought to you by the people who's been their careers thinking about exactly this I'm Dr. Joy Listen to therapy for black girls on the iHeartReneo app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast Self-cars September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-cars actually means Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything shower It can be putting your phone on do not disturb

But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff and understanding your patterns your boundaries Finally figuring out why you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again I'm james beg the host of the psychology of your 20s podcast and each week We unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s from relationships and friendships to money anxiety Confidence attachment just becoming more comfortable with who you are Unlike the quarter-life crisis which is depicted as the collapse the quarter-life reinvention is the expansion and Quarhood of something when we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves Nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September don't just take care of yourself get to know yourself as well Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the iHeartReneo app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts On the new podcast solita we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle

I'm Julie Biniero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes Without asking anyone else first I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita Trading the pity for possibility Every time I tried to be alone I kept meeting people and they were like you smiled at us not a lot of people smile around here It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies your soul about it It can be a time where you push your limits change your mind or wake up to a new version of yourself So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip I hope you listen to solita on the iHeartReneo app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts When I was 14 years old I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them

I'm Elizabeth smart and these are the survivor files. You just remember This low taunting voice next to my ear saying shut up. Don't say anything Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable I knew if he woke up Without a doubt he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed And I just started screaming They are abducted, stalked, controlled and nearly silenced But these aren't stories about what's taken from them Their story is about what it takes to make it out alive Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth smart on the iHeartReneo app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts Our town is small taters by most standards right but to the people who grew up here it's everything What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America

Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment God need men to rule and decides to fight back Do not use my hard work to sell your bull They're not just opposing what's being planned for here Our hometown is not a test to they feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbilly's now, did you? We'll talk about all these stories At the top of the hour, but right now it is time to ask the riddle and junior here we go

This is from demand in Richardson Demand writes I was dating a girl and she wet my bed I put the mattress in my garage because it was just too stained to use She promised to buy me a new mattress, but she is ghosted me Would I be wrong to put this on Instagram to get her attention? What? Just let it all go. We threw We threw We threw hut we threw it with her right along with the mattress all of it is over with You got it that is it But is thinking just to put her on blast like that on Instagram Wow For the whole world to see Yes, that's really bad You have my you did you ate you you seven how are you you were my big I'm done Well, she's done apparently and has moved on what she she peed off

Ha Junior what you say It's not what's not to do that. No, why put it up there? I'm gonna put it up and you yeah put put the mattress up there and her picture next to it Do you have this woman in your bed? Beware a serial peer we gotta get huh. She's a serial Get her actual bed. It's only one. We don't know that she's a serial one Ah that right there didn't happen before if you grown and you didn't Go lick it her mattress Oh, no But don't lick it her pull the sheets back and look at this is shame here Always lying on the children, you know the man-man did that not at you that ain't man-man All right, we're moving on guys to Bailey and Chesapeake Bailey writes I was out Saturday night and spotted my husband at the bar I acted like I didn't see him because he didn't tell me he'd be there. I assume he came to spy on me

But he said that he didn't then why didn't he tell me that he'd been at the club that he'd be at the club Why don't you tell me if you didn't come to the spot Oh man Well, I just want to get a cup of drinks and that's the spot y'all go to clearly y'all go to the same spot clearly There's no way else to go if y'all wind it up at the same place And it's secret Yeah, I guess there's no big deal. He went to get a cup of drinks you happen to be there and it is what it is Did you go over to him? Did you say anything? Yeah, they just speak I'm not gonna see my spouse and not go say something to that don't make no see why you go say something y'all man That's your man This marriage is a little trouble just sounds like for sure Exactly, Junior little sketch exactly what it is. It's Trump. Yeah, he'll even care if you see him at the bar He want to tell Melbourne with his marriage like I can't stand a meal The bartender who's melvin the bartender I can't stand a meal

She getting on the nerves give me another round please listen to you. She's a lady she over there. I don't care Melvin she coming this way. Yeah, she right behind you. So what look turn around your wife is in here. I don't care She took my car keys male who don't speak today spouse if you see him out. I know and he obviously knew she was gonna be there Because that's why she said why didn't he tell me he'd be at the club? So he knew she was gonna be there. He was there first. He got there happy hour. He been there. You are here in the mound You're not speaking. Yeah. Yeah. All right moving on to Lawanda and Harlem Lawanda writes my new man is a bit oversized and I feel I find it hard to enjoy He said he's used to it being a problem in all of his relationships So is he willing to be patient with me? So he is willing to be patient with me. Oh I hate to keep running from him. Is this something that will get better over time See I had this problem too. See that was I knew that was gonna be I do I had this problem

And you know the running is normal you run for a minute you get used to it. It's all right You get used to it's just gonna take a little time But you know and you're gonna get tired of running soon. It like we're gonna run in each other. It is gonna happen Okay, so just just be ready Just breathe just breathe. It's gonna be okay. Just breathe But I'm gonna catch you You got a big ego What you got Junior I'm not feeling distressed this man on this radio. I'm not feeling I'm not talking about him and all of them but they're few clearly I can identify with you because he says this all the time. I'm not I'm with you. I can't be you say at that time This is what you do This is where we're trying to help Lawanda though. She's the one that's running That's the one that's going through so I get it

All right, we're moving I'm gonna be the ran from me in the past I get it. I'll stay Sorry, Lawanda that we couldn't that we couldn't help you on this one You will never get a number call Yes, what I thought Zee right You know you know they say if they talk a lot They come right You don't even buy nothing exactly All right last one guys Last one this is from Brian and Pine Bluff Brian writes I'm messing with one of my mom's friends and we're getting pretty serious So I want my mom to know my mom had said that her friend is acting funny because she must have a new man How do I tell my mom that I'm the new man You're looking at her mommy All this man you didn't took your mom or man? No, no She's no no no no no no no it's a mom and a son the son is dating one of the mom's friends

We have an update on some rules on playing Uno right after this You're listening morning shout

Professional wrestling fans the action continues every week watch tn a thirds in night impact every week on AMC It's like electricity flowing through your veins the start of tn a wrestle of bringing the adrenaline the drama and the total non-stop action on Thursday night impact see mad Jeff Hardy nicknames Leon Slater Mike Santana the knockouts and more battle on the road Don't miss the action of tn a Thursday night impact every week on AMC for showtimes and more information visit tn a wrestling dot com What is upcoming labor day weekend you might play dominoes you might play some bid with spades or Uno with your friends and family of course We all know that people make up their own rules which can cause some confusion So Uno has posted a few official rules on their ex or twitter page Uh, there seems to be some confusion So here's the clarity from the official Uno rules okay They say when a player draw put when a player plays a draw to

The next player must draw two cards and mr. Turn yeah Okay, uh, yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, that's your turn drawing to that is your turn stacking draw to is prohibited in addition when a player plays a draw for The next player must draw four cards and four fit their turn you cannot move on okay Yeah, you cannot place another draw for or draw to directly on top of it or make the next player draw more cards So there's no rules and then there's black on our rules exactly yes Yes, yes, if you want to avoid arguments avoid them they go happen Yeah, if you want to avoid arguments agree in advance to play by the official rule And nobody finished the official rules No, it's so frustrating though when you play Uno and you sit down and then they put the rules out there and these made up rules

Yeah, yeah, draw to this is clarity that we need it because a lot of specialties college kids Oh, so we play draw to then they want to stack No, the draw to all the top and just keep stacking we like yeah, okay, wait. That's not the up there rules other game That's how we play stack She your turn is to even too Even when they even when they shuffle the card they're gonna cut it four different ways Flip on over flip one over on each stack pass it out to a different person You know They're not changing the rules cuz Uno saying some you Go stack these draw to then you don't draw the phone with junior this these are the rules from Mattel the people who made Yeah But at 307 these are the rules We're 309. Oh, so the address we play in that we We at this office

You can't drop four you cannot put a drop for on top of my drop And move on I'm not even a cards. I'm not doing a Or that is always black This can't change is 50 years later too late Yeah, yeah, cuz see this weekend it's gonna be some watch okay Oh, yeah, yeah, a lot of our given yeah, we are all right guys coming up in 34 minutes after the hour Drusky faces backlash for his NFL and CTE skit. I will talk about it right after this you're listening By age 11 or so at least 70 percent have a phone middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in I'm dr. Joy and this is therapy for black girls

We spent real time on it in our surviving middle school run Bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological chaos happening all this We got into group chats and gaming Friendship and bullying and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust They're belonging you could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted And then they're fitting in fitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers sitting down with therapists cure gains on black fatherhood And what it means to raise a daughter through this stage you don't have more shorts So you can't do flips you have on the dress you have across your legs That's the range of this run from screen time to identity to the fathers doing the work at home You have to get off her device But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adult in the life to miss out on

This has been our surviving middle school run brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this I'm dr. Joy Listen to therapy for black girls on the iHeartReneo app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast Self-cars of tempa is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-cars actually means Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be an everything shower It can be putting your phone on do not disturb But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff and understanding your patterns your boundaries Finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again I'm james beg the host of the psychology of your 20s podcast and each week We unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s from relationships and friendships to money anxiety Confidence attachment just becoming more comfortable with who you are Unlike the quarter-life crisis which is depicted as the collapse the quarter-life reinvention is the expansion and corth of something when we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves

Nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September don't just take care of yourself get to know yourself as well Listen to this psychology of your 20s on the iHeartReneo app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts On the new podcast solita we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle I choose option B. I'm Julie Beniero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita Trading the pity for possibility Every time I tried to be alone I kept meeting people and they were like you smiled at us not a lot of people smile around here It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies your soul about it It can be a time where you push your limits change your mind or wake up to a new version of yourself

So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip I hope you listen to solita on the iHeartReneo app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts When I was 14 years old I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them I'm Elizabeth smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember This low-taunting voice next to my ear saying shut up. Don't say anything Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable I knew if he woke up Without a doubt he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that There was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming They are abducted stocked controlled and nearly silenced But these aren't stories about what's taken from them

Their story is about what it takes to make it out alive Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth smart on the iHeartReneo app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts Our town is small taters by most standards right but to the people who grew up here it's everything What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etchum But they weren't just planning houses We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life stop right there Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment God need medial great and decides to fight back Do not use my hard work to sell your bull They're not just opposing what's being planned for here our hometown is not a test to they feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire

Administration I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbilly's now. Did you listen to our town on the iHeart Radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts Well Well, Drew skis recent skit titled athletes get concussions and lose their minds has gone viral in the sketch Drusky plays a fictional running back who suffers a helmet knockdown then spirals into a radic behavior leading a police chase in a gold Ferrari acting out at home and dismissing his condition and saying I don't remember I just play football while Drusky frames it as satire targeting NFL culture and media coverage critics argue it trivializes CT CTE a serious neurological neurological condition linked to repeated concussions and affecting real players and their families The porters defended the skid as poking fun at the NFL's handling of concussions and celebrity culture

So you see you have two different schools of thought they're not on individual sufferers So what do you guys think did Drew ski go too far on this one uh and and and do you have a line? I mean we talk about a lot on this show about crossing that line Especially yeah, well, that's a sensitive subject because we got some guys is really going through some major Difficulties with these concussions. So it's definitely a sensitive subject right You know, I love Drew ski. I love what he does. I love all his sketches. His skits. He's funny as I'll get out of but you know We all got a line and and as a comedian we we decided we're gonna cross it If we're gonna play right on the side of it and sometimes you go over he might have went over at this time because he definitely Hit a sensitive subject Well, don't you though as comedians in the society of the universe satire to bring something to light. What do you think junior as a comedian? I think we do that um, you know the thing about this kid here, you know, and I know I know with with Drew ski was attempting to do here You know, and it is to bring attention to CTE and but also you have to remember like people have committed suicide to CTE

Like I thought about junior say-out at the same time junior say-out was a linebacker for the San Diego charges a hall of fame You know and he committed suicide having CTE the damage So you don't think about that and then what is the point would do we get it because it what we talk about the erratic behavior We talk about all the effects of CTE and that's what I just want to know if it's all the it's all the effects Or we just doing what the behavior is and end to see NFL their summer Responsibility because they're saying they're criticizing the NFL for handling how they handle these contention Then there we go. Yeah, that's the problem. Yeah, that's then that's a Or a mishandle or not handled, you know, definitely Yeah, not bringing enough awareness or Taking it as serious or is it yeah affects so many players. It's not just a few players It affects a lot of players. So that's what you were saying Tommy and junior is the the when you draw that line as a comedian It's the sensitivity

What you're saying and And how it's what it context. Yeah, and is it harmful? Well what you're saying, you know, we kind of Touch on that and some some some some something you're gonna be painful some stuff you're gonna It's that's what it is though. That's what that's the thing of being a comedian that you go and hit Right down there and some people are gonna be offended by some people are gonna we're gonna make awareness to it It's gonna happen but You you in order to do it you got to get close to it Well, Tommy, I mean, you're a perfect example because you talk about your cancers Journey, but you know what sirly and that's a very very very different position because I think I can talk about it because I've gone through it I think I don't think about I think I would think I would think twice if I was like what I be on stage talking about cancer If I hadn't gone through it, I don't think I would be That's a good point. I say uh-huh is to bring awareness because this is something you've experienced

Exactly Yeah, and that's probably why a lot of people are upset at Drusky because he has he doesn't know what it's like He hasn't been there he hasn't done this and why are you making fun of this? It's a very serious subject here. So yeah, if he was if he was an ex-ball player that'd be a whole different thing Well I mean look at what he did with the churches. I mean come on. It's drusky. They were mad about that I love it dude What he does You won't pray All right, comedians. She had a lot of practice Dear Steven Shirley my best friend is a man and we've been very close since we were kids I'm married and have four children he's divorced and he desperately wants to get remarried So I've been helping him find nice women to date

But now it looks like he doesn't need my help at all See an old friend of ours Carmel just moved back to the city Carmel and I talked over the years, but our lives were so different I got married young and Carmel never got married and instead she always had lots of drama with men And she bragged about how men would give her a lot of money for some of her honey She bragged about having three sums and doing party drugs back in the day And I haven't seen her since she moved back, but my best friend has He said Carmel was having trouble getting an apartment. So he told her she could crash with him for a while I almost passed out But couldn't say anything because she was moving in that day a month passed and my best friend and I met for lunch He had the biggest mile on his face and I instantly knew that Carmel had put it on him He said that they have a lot of chemistry and she's a great lover I told him that she's had a lot of practice He didn't like that at all and he left me in the restaurant

I called my husband to tell him what happened and he told me to mind my business and let my best friend be happy with Carmel I can't let him go out like that She's got way too many miles on her and my best friend deserves better How do I get him away from her This one is really easy this letter. How do you get him away from her? You ask you don't And how is this your business? I mean, I know you guys have been friends for a minute But this is not your business just because he's your best friend doesn't mean you can you can just say anything to him About this woman again best friend or whatever It's not your business you got a whole family you got a husband you got four kids I'm sure that they keep you way too busy to be worried about who your best friend is sleeping with your best friend is a grown man And he likes Carmel okay he likes her you say he deserves better, but he wants Carmel She does it for him so you got to let him have that you said enough when you told him that

She had a lot of practice with another with other men Overstepping on your parts this overstepping. That's why he left you by yourself to pay the bill at that restaurant He wasn't he was standing up for his woman That's what he was doing and his woman right now is Carmel So you got to stop judging her and all of that and listen to your husband because he's right on this one Tommy I don't want To be your best friend no more Ha ha ha You don't come up in here talking about Carmel not my car male you don't come in here Talking about my car male okay Carmel was going through some things and I helped out. Yes. She needed somewhere to stay Yes, I wrote yes, I co-sign for her pardon me. I co-sign for her car. You don't know what Carmel doing for me You have no earthly idea I call me up putting it down over here for me Okay, so for you to come in here and try to tell me that she didn't have a whole lot of practice

You don't do that you don't talk about Carmel like that Carmel is such a good she is a good person Carmel is a very good person and I love her I want to be you don't know what Carmel we've been having three so no here. We were doing our parents to you Carmel then turned me all the way out and what I did last thing This somebody the college to my best friend gonna come in here mess this up You're not messing with me Carmel. I'm thinking Carmel shopping tomorrow. We go to Lou the time We go to go to come here get what Carmel wall. Do you understand that? Do you understand that? Carmel if you are listening right now We are not gonna let nobody come between us because what we have Let no man put us under we are Let no man what guy is trying to gather this has this is a god You don't know what I mean. I've been doing for me Carmel then turned me all the way out and I love it

So you as my best friend you right now right now we are no longer best friends You have no you have you you you can no longer speak Carmel my name coming out your mouth. I don't want to hear I want to see you no more. I don't want you around me and come here Tell your husband he is right that you ain't got nothing to do with us leave us alone Miracorn male is fine. We're gonna be fine. Okay. Miracorn male is gonna be fine. We're gonna be all right That's the first name like you said we're gonna be all right. Okay, because we are coming here. Got it together We know what we doing we know what life has just got this challenge for us We know we that she had a little bit of a history. I don't care about her history. I can't put a future Yeah, I can't make a bad guy with you at all in her future. Carmel I love you I love you dearly and I can't wait to get home because because what you do to me is so

You know when you know when it's so good you cry why you doing it? That's what Carmel do Honey come here Well, you're so good you cry in the middle of it. That's the kind of loving Carmel Where is the car? Me or Carmel? What is it? I got care to wait, but anyway, I love you some Carmel And I want you to know that me I'm friendship is completely over I'm completely done with you And it is me and Carmel for life Carmel for life. I got flags. I got posters in the yard I got everything that say Carmel. This is the kind of yes, I do we have it and they wave it and they wave it's called if they are they all say All right Well hang on Tommy we'll have part two of the response in the strawberry letter at 23 minutes after today subject She had a lot of practice. We'll we'll hear from junior right after this and she got good at it too She did you're listening Harding morning shout By age or rather in our soul at least 70% have a fault middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in

I'm dr. Joy and this is therapy for black girls We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run Bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now So it's literally Physiological and neurological psychological chaos happening all this in job We got into group chats and gaming Friendship and bullying and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust There's belonging you could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted and then they're fitting in Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers sitting down with therapists care games on black fatherhood And what it means to raise a daughter through this stage you don't have more shorts So you can't do flips you have on the dress you have across your legs That's the range of this run from screen time to identity to the fathers doing the work at home How to get off her device But the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adults in the life to miss out on

Now we're trying to figure out what to do with this substantial amount of cash Our daughter wants it naturally and it is already scoping out cars. She's already scoping out cars and vacation spot I'm of the opinion that it was for a college fund and since there is no college the money goes back to us My wife said maybe the money can be used as a seed investment in her own shop. What do you guys think? You ain't getting no car. Who get this trade right now? You ain't getting no car. You're listening to the Steve Harvey morning show Well tailgating before football games is one of the best fall traditions But it seems that more people prefer doing it at their own home or someone else's place rather than the parking lot of a football stadium This is a brand new sir. Yeah, I'm in a new survey of 5,000 football fans 39% of them say they prefer home gate while 24% still prefer the old fashioned tailgate The survey also found that a pregame event at someone's house should have an average of 11 people and in attendance About 11 or so give or take a few Complete with six foods and six different drink options. Okay, so what do you guys think? What do you guys prefer home gating or tailgating?

I like both of them actually, but that tailgating in the parking lot you got to be ready though. What do you mean? It gets dangerous, especially when Okay, let me give you this one Everybody in Texas everybody in Houston is ready for the the Texans versus Dallas and it'll be played in Houston So that tailgate gonna be jam pack and you need that game to be at noon surely Because if that game is at three or six It's gonna be fights going on in the parking lot It's gonna be terrible.
