Hello friends, welcome to the SeenPod for Kids.
0:09
Thank you for joining me today as we spend time with our friend Jesus.
0:15
Spending time with Jesus is the best way to start your day.
0:19
Let's begin our time together praising Him.
0:26
Another way to think of being redeemed is to think of adoption.
0:30
There are a lot of stray dogs where we live.
0:33
Many of them are skinny and hungry and they have skin problems.
0:36
They're lonely and scared.
0:38
One of these dogs was at the post office in the parking lot looking for food.
0:43
My husband and son were able to get close enough and bring him home.
0:47
We gave him lots of good food, lots of love and attention and adopted him or redeemed him.
0:55
Now he's our dog. We gave him a new name, Junior, and he is so spoiled he even sleeps on the couch.
1:04
Because we adopted him or redeemed him, he's now living a happy, peaceful life.
1:10
He doesn't have to wonder where his next meal is going to come from.
1:13
And he never worries that we don't love him because we shower him with snuggles and love.
1:19
That's what Jesus does for us.
1:22
He adopts us into his family.
1:24
When we're redeemed by him, we are his child.
1:28
He takes care of us and we don't have to worry or be afraid.
1:41
Redeemed how I love to proclaim and redeemed by the blood of the lamb
1:48
Redeemed through his infinite mercy
1:51
Is child and forever I am
1:58
Redeemed by the blood of the lamb
2:07
Is child and forever I am
2:10
I know there's a crown that is waiting in yonder bright pension for me
2:17
And soon with a sense made perfect
2:20
At home with the Lord I shall be
2:27
Redeemed by the blood of the lamb
2:36
Is child and forever I am
2:42
Welcome to hide his word, a special program where we take a few minutes to hide God's word in our hearts.
2:51
Let's go ahead and get started.
2:54
Let's practice saying Psalm 23 and Psalm 91.
3:00
We're going to start with Psalm 23.
3:02
Go ahead and say it right with me.
3:04
The Lord is my shepherd.
3:09
He makes me to lie down in green pastures.
3:13
He leads me beside the still waters.
3:16
He restores my soul.
3:19
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake.
3:25
Yay, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
3:32
For you are with me.
3:35
Your rod and your staff they comfort me.
3:39
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
3:44
You anoint my head with oil.
3:50
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
3:54
All the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
4:02
Now, let's say Psalm 91, are you ready?
4:06
He who dwells in the secret place of the most high,
4:10
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
4:14
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress.
4:19
My God in Him I will trust.
4:23
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the Fowler
4:27
and from the perilous pestilence.
4:30
He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you shall take refuge.
4:37
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
4:41
He shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
4:45
nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
4:51
nor of the destruction that lays waste at noon day.
4:56
A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand,
5:01
but it shall not come near you.
5:04
Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked.
5:10
Because you have made the Lord who is my refuge,
5:14
even the most high your dwelling place,
5:17
no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.
5:23
For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways.
5:30
In their hands they shall bear you up,
5:33
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
5:36
You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
5:40
the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
5:44
Because he has set his love upon me, therefore I will deliver him.
5:51
I will set him on high because he has known my name.
5:56
He shall call upon me and I will answer him.
6:00
I will be with him in trouble.
6:02
I will deliver him and honor him.
6:05
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
6:13
Let's go to the Bible lesson.
6:25
I'm glad you're back with me today as we continue the story about Elisha in the city.
6:31
And there was a Syrian army that was sent to surround the city and capture Elisha.
6:36
Is he going to be caught?
6:38
We're going to find out in just a minute.
6:40
But first let's pray.
6:43
Dear Lord, be with us as we study from your Holy Word, the Bible.
6:47
Help us to learn and understand how much you care for us and how you send your angels to protect us in Jesus' name.
6:56
The King of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha.
6:59
And during the night they surrounded the city where he was staying.
7:03
Earl and the King of Syria sent his army to capture Elisha.
7:08
And during the night they surrounded the city where he was staying.
7:11
Early the next morning when Elisha's servant went out and looked around.
7:16
Oh no, what did he see?
7:18
Let's look it up in 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15.
7:22
That's 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15.
7:27
We read from 2nd Kings, chapter 6 last time.
7:30
We're right back in that same chapter, but this time we're going to read verse 15.
7:35
You might want to put a bookmark there so that every day you'll have it marked right where we're going to open.
7:42
So let's check out 2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15.
7:47
2nd Kings, chapter 6, verse 15.
7:50
Here's what it says.
7:51
And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots.
8:00
And his servant said to him, Alas, my master, what shall we do?
8:04
Does he sound scared?
8:06
Yeah, he sounds very scared.
8:09
He rushed to tell Elisha, oh no, there's an army out there there surrounding us, what are we going to do?
8:16
There wasn't a chance that they could get away, they couldn't escape and go somewhere else to be safe.
8:22
Their city was totally surrounded by the Syrian army.
8:26
In fact, it looked as if there was no way to escape.
8:30
The servant feared that they would be taken prisoners or even killed.
8:36
But Elisha wasn't at all worried, not at all.
8:40
What did he calmly tell his servant?
8:44
So he answered, do not fear.
8:47
For those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
8:53
Those who are with us are more than the guys outside the city.
8:58
I'm sure he kind of stood there going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
9:01
I can't even count how many guys there are out there.
9:04
Like hundreds, maybe even thousands.
9:07
And there's more with us.
9:11
What are you talking about?
9:16
Couldn't he see that there were no Israelite soldiers anywhere?
9:20
How could he possibly say what he said?
9:23
But Elisha didn't need to see the soldiers that he was talking about.
9:27
He already knew that they were there.
9:30
But I imagine he felt sorry for the poor terrified servant.
9:34
And he wanted him to relax.
9:37
It's okay, calm down.
9:39
So what did Elisha ask God to do?
9:43
Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw.
9:47
And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
9:54
Isn't that incredible?
9:56
The mountains were filled with horses and chariots of fire.
10:02
Would you feel pretty protected and pretty safe if you were surrounded by horses and chariots of fire?
10:10
The more that you're surrounded by guards or by angels or chariots, the safer you would feel.
10:19
How do you suppose the servant felt as he looked all around this time?
10:23
Oh, that's what you're talking about.
10:31
All these soldiers and the chariots of fire and horses and wow, the angels.
10:39
Yeah, we're protected.
10:41
Can you think of another story in the Bible about being protected?
10:45
Maybe what about Peter?
10:47
He was in prison, right?
10:49
He was even between soldiers and he was chained up there and God sent what?
10:56
He sent an angel to take Peter out of that prison to help him to escape.
11:02
Can God send extra angels when we need them?
11:07
Did you know that he would send every angel in heaven to help one of us,
11:12
rather than let Satan force us to do something wrong?
11:15
That's a lot of angels, isn't it?
11:18
He would and he would help us when we pray.
11:21
All we have to do is pray and ask God to send his angels.
11:26
And did you know that in Psalms the angel of the Lord in camps?
11:31
That means he camps out around those who fear him and delivers them.
11:35
God sends his angels to protect us, to keep us safe, to help us in times of trouble.
11:43
I'm so glad, aren't you?
11:47
Lord, thank you for your angels that you send, to protect us, to be with us.
11:52
Pray that you will help us to trust in you no matter what, in Jesus' name. Amen.
12:15
With made it is impossible.
12:23
But with God all things are possible.
12:42
