4:06I consider doing that, but he did win last year. So I've just considered riding his co-tales. Yeah. Okay. We'll see. See how we do. Like where you almost, you know, the five ball almost hit you in the face when you, because you weren't paying attention to the ballpark or something. Like, whoa. That moment is just hit me. I mean, the nine game win streak, if it happened earlier in the year, and you were nine games better, when that point of the season came about, I mean, I get you'd feel better earlier, but you'd still be in the same spot. Baseball happens. Right? You have good streaks. You have bad streaks. I'm going to go back to the fact that when it comes to your kids, the city royals, the thing that I really, really hope is that they, you know, I understand we talked about that the fear that the royals fans will have is that,

7:12well, playing pretty good ball here at the end, no, we're all good. But you got to go back and figure out why you came out of the gates. Bad. Like, and I know Jeff Passon didn't want to hear that yesterday, but that's, that's why Jeff's wrong. That's why he's going to be buying me dinner because I don't lose bets to Jeff Passon. Okay? I'm undefeated in my life. In disagreements with Jeff Passon that have come to the point of wager. You just annoy him until he takes the other side. That's right. What are that or something, you know, the last one that was the case. We did, we did. He, Jeff was on yesterday because we had to juggle things around with his schedule, so he couldn't be on Monday, but he's going to go to Tuesday. Have we told him that? We will. Not next week, but the week after he'll be moving to Tuesdays in the two as the chief season will get going. And we know that'll be the focus on Mondays at that point. We did come together. I mean, we show to America that you can reach across the island, find a conclusion. But I think we are still different in the sense that I think there,

8:14there was something fundamentally wrong with how they left spring training. If this team is good enough, I'm also open to the idea that like we're just not good enough. And we're going to have good stretches. And we're going to have bad stretches and we came out with a bad stretch. We could have come out with a good stretch and had some false hope. But in the end, we weren't going to be good enough over 162 games. And we, we, we need to make this team better. I will tell you when I look at the lineup when Carter Jensen's hitting two home runs, when Jack Cagliones driving in runs, when Bobby, what juniors getting on base and driving in runs. When Vinnie passed Quintino, and I still don't think he's 100%. They, you know, he historically, the ham at bone robs you with your power for about six months. Or at least three months, I think maybe it is. Is the rule of thumb. So I mean, I don't think we're going to see the real Vinnie passed Quintino, but we're definitely seeing them. The real Vinnie passed Quintino as far as putting the bat on the ball. He's not striking out. I mean, that's four hitters that I really like. Okay. And my Kellgar see his age would tell you that somewhere in between the two years that he's had over the last two years is him at least.

9:18And maybe more towards the really good year he had last year. So that's a fifth hitter that I like. I don't like him hitting four. Right. I think the one thing is I look at the Kansas City Royals right now. And I know Carter Jensen's on base percentage doesn't look high enough to be batting lead off to be ideal for that. But historically in the minor leagues, he has been a good on base guy. And I think as his power grows, as his frequency of contact grows, pitchers will try to stay away from his power more and his ability to take a walk and get on base will will be magnified. And I think he's going to be a 33 on base. So one in three on base type of guy. And so if you just say you got one figured out, you got two figured out with Bobby, you got three figured out with Jack Haggley on. I think you've got five figured out with Vinnie passed Quintino and you've got six figured out with Michael Garcia. Yeah. I think the idea of Michael Garcia, I don't think you know, he had an 800 OPS, not 850, not 900 last year, he had an 800 OPS.

10:21And that's my far as career best. And he showed more pop than he's shown at any point in his career. I think the key is going to be for the Royals to not think that they've got the top of the lineup done and all they need is another eyes of Collins. By the way, I really like eyes and Collins. But they need Germaine Dye to walk through that door. Right. They need another premium bat, a right handed bat with power to hit fourth. That's what they need. And if they can find that, then I think they do go six deep and allows them to bat Salvador Perez 789, which would probably be eight because you'd want to left handed bat at seven. And then I said Collins and switch hitter at nine. If you do that, then I think you've got to heck up a lineup. Right. Your seven hitter would be at that point. I say seven would be a lefty. So eight would be salvy. So we're looking for seven. Seven would be Michael Massey.

11:22And if that's your lineup, let's say a Germaine Dye type, a right handed guy, 30 and 100. And I recognize what I'm saying. Number one, Jeff Pasin was pointed out. There aren't many right handed power hitting outfield. There aren't any right handed outfielders. Period out there. But that's what I'm looking for if I'm the royals. And I think the question is, do you have to now? And I think the answer is yes, because there's just such a scarcity of right handed. I mean, you look at their team. True water is a switch hitter. Rokofort is a left hander. Gavin Cross is a left hander. They don't even have a right. I don't even know who the next right handed hitting outfielder is in that organization. It's Gomez, but he's 18 years old. Well, let's get him up. What are we waiting on? I think he's only 17. Has he turned 18? Did you look it up? So there's helped three years away. But in the meantime, and I think the question that they're going to have to answer is, do you go out and do whatever it takes to get the right handed?

12:24You're right. I feel 17. What's he turned 18? In December. Okay. Yeah. So look, I look at that team and I look at the positives from last night. I don't care about the losses anymore. It doesn't bother me. I'm not concerned with it. We've seen, you know, no camera pitch pretty good. It's, you know, we knew he wasn't going to keep throwing a one something just because he was calling his own pitches. He didn't have his best stuff, but he still kept them in the game. And you know, Carter jenston two home runs. That's the story last night. Jack Kaggleon driving in a run. That's the story last night. That's what that's what where they're going on this team. But I think it's pretty clear that they need a legit power right hand bat. They need a middle of the order right hand bat. Because I don't want to hear about how this is who we really are, what we're hitting here at the end. Part of the reason why you hit bad earliest, because you didn't have a legit right handed power bat. And Salvador Perez does not belong in nor on any championship club.

13:27Did he ever belong? What did Salvi hit during those where where did he hit in the order during those World Series games? He was near the bottom of the order. Exactly. Exactly. And so that's where he's got to go again. And we love Salvi and Salvi's a borderline hall of famer. May I hope is ultimately going to make it there. But you know, as long as he's batting for, you're not good enough. Like that there's your crap detector right there. It's not that Salvi's crap. It's that that you as a lineup are not good enough. The alarm should go off. We cannot have Salvador Perez. If the manager feels like he's got to put Salvador Perez batting forth, we're screwed. And so that has to get solved. That's the takeaway that I have from from where the royals are. It's crystal clear what they need and what they need is not small. What they need is not a guy who's a fringy everyday player. They have got to find a right handed power bat. And preferably in the outfield, preferably to play right field,

14:30right and or left so you can mix it around. But that's what you need. And if you don't have it, then you're going to be an incomplete lineup. Your Armando Rios was the right field in their championship team. Alex Alex. Alex Rios. Yeah, thank you. Alex Rios was the right fielder on the 2015 championship team. And he hit down in the order. Right. And then was it Aoki, Norie Aoki? He was 2014. Yeah, he was 14. And again, you were 90 feet away from being at least playing for a championship. And by the way, if you go back and look, how much would you like a 350 on-base guy playing right field right now? Because that's what that guy was. Like, it's not a coincidence. That team was better in some places than you think. Right. But that guy could get on base. If you can't get me the 30 and 100 guy, go get me a 350 on-base guy. And the royals have tried to do it a couple of times. They've gotten guys that were 350 on-base guys last year.

15:35Right, Jonathan, India. Isaac Collins. But you need guy, but then they bring them into Kansas City and they ask them to be more than what their previous club asked them to be. So, listen, royals lose. It's frustrating because we just got into the point where it was worth a while to talk about. Well, 19 and five gets you to 500. That might be enough. Well, now it's 19 and three. And I don't think anybody, and we're going, that's right. Randy Dobnack is a nice story. The royals have done a nice job in accentuating his positives or maybe eliminating some of his negatives. But we're not Randy Dobnacking it. Up the standings. Randy Dobnack helps you hold your spot in the standings. But Randy Dobnack is not climbing the ladder of the standings. Well, we got to win every time we give him the ball. No. Worth a while, peace, great success story.

16:36Show us other royals can keep their pitching coming along, but not the answer for climbing. You just, you literally cannot put yourself in a hole like the royals did. And it makes me look back on those A's teams, the Billy Bean A's teams, particularly the ones that came after the Giamby left and all that. They would routinely start slow. I mean, real slow, eight and 16 type stuff. I mean, all of a sudden by like June 1st, they're four up in the division. And then they would just get white hot. I don't know how they did it, but they did it a lot. And you might look back and be like, if that only happened twice, two more than I've seen it happen here. That's two stereos, Billy Bean had to break. That's right. And when was the last time you saw royals, when was the last time the Royals Club got off to a crappy start and ended up then riding the ship and taking off. I don't remember it. I might be wrong, but I don't remember it. I mean, if you look at what they're winning seasons, which there have been so few of,

17:41last year they did get off to a shaky start. Last year would be the year, but they got to 82 wins. 24, they came out of the gate. Previous winning seasons to that, I guess 14 would be it, but 14, they just kind of muddled around 500. Like I'm not talking about not being in first place. I'm talking about a bad start that they've overcome. I'll have to dive into that. Like what are, what are the, what is the worst they've started? What is the worst win percentage they have had in a winning season at any point during the year? And what is the worst winning percentage that they have had in a playoff season? Because I'm going to tell you most of them come with good starts. 03, they had a winning record. They came out of the gates, white hot. And then just basically held off the erosion throughout the course of the year to win 83 games. But 15, they came out hot. 14, they came out 500-ish is my recollection.

18:44Because I think they fell below 500 after the all-star break in 14. And then right to the ship and got going. Yeah, that's right. But they weren't 14 under. Right? So it's got to happen. That kind of change has got to happen. And so, look, Carter just and hit two home runs. That's what you focus on as a royal son about last night's game. And Noah Cameron battled. And Jack Kaggleon drove in a run. But to me, the whole is glaring. It's a forehitter. Right? It's a kinder's Morales. It's a Billy Butler. It is a legit doubles to home runs or home run power hitting right handed baseball player. You want to move some things around? I'm going to make it work. You want to get a right handed third baseman and tell my co-gracee is playing in the outfield. Fine. You want to get a move. My co-gracee is a second. Fine. But you need a right handed power bat to go in the middle of this lineup.

19:46And then I think it looks a lot better. We don't even need to talk about the bullpen. You need lots of work in the bullpen still. Right? And your rotation now needs lots of work in the rotation. Because you have, by my count, we have two starters. I mean, set Lugo is going to get a spot in the rotation, but with a five plus ERA, if he made $1.5 million, you might, at 37 years old next year, you wouldn't bring him back. So he's going to be in your rotation because you're paying him $23 million. But you better have the guy ready to step in for him. And you better start watching the innings. Because if you're going to trigger a third, if you're going to just, if we've, if it's the Make a Wish Foundation, and you're going to run him out next year through another five ERA, while he piles up the innings that then kick in another year at 38 for $23 million, then you're asleep at the wheel. Like this is not about making sure all the fellas get their check.

20:46I'll tell you if I'm one of the other owners, if I'm John Sherman for sure, but especially if I'm one of the other owners, and you're coming around for cash calls, which I know for a fact they've had at least one. And you're, you run, you run Seth Lugo out there every day with a five ERA, barreling towards me, having to be asked for more money on my ownership to pay a guy who was going on a second year, a five plus ERA. Uh-uh. We'll, we'll take care of the guy who keeps putting his name in the lineup, or we'll take care of the guy who puts the guy in that position to write the lineup. That goes upstairs. You cannot just be throwing money out the window. And I get it. There's this like old school braves adage about trying to get everybody all there, all their incentives and everything. That ends here. You earn the right to be given the opportunity to go get the innings, to get an extra year onto your deal at $20 plus million. So it'll be a big start to the season next year for Seth Lugo. He's got to pitch well, or you've got to get rid of him,

21:49because you cannot tie $23 million into a sinking player. You can't do it. So, and I know that might be hard, but your obligation is not to set the lugo. Your obligation is the word on the front of the jersey, Royals. And it's to the fans, you're asking taxpayer money to build a new stadium, and you're asking to come out and watch the club. 913-810-810, I'm going to talk some Royals baseball. 23:55So I agree that the A.D.'s and the conferences and the head coaches are sort of the proximate cause and the cash grab and the last, you know, one of the years in college football. Don't forget about the university presidents. Of course. Of course. Everyone, yes, absolutely. They're all included in this. I agree with you on that. But I also think more than one thing can be true, which is to say that if you're a Lydring quits or everybody's favorite punchy veg, dabo or some of these other guys, they're to me, they are understandably frustrated. And my two quick points here is one is if you told Andy Reed, you've got to re-recruit your own team every year. And oh, by the way, some federal district court judge in Denver just declared that Sean Payton can go get any projected first round pick in the draft next year. And you guys play him next week. That'd be a little like, come on. Really, every coach needs to be able to know who's on my roster, who's eligible, who's not.

25:00Agreed. I think I think both things can be true. I think so as well. Let me let me I want to I want to ask you something. First of all, we're not talking about any first round pick. So let's make sure we're comparing apples to apples. Right. We're talking about guys that are good players that they obviously want that they're probably going to pay more to play college football than they're going to make in the pros. But if you're an NFL cut, you're clearly not a first, I mean, even if you were a first round pick, you somebody screwed up big time if you can't even make the roster. So we're talking about guys that really are more UDFA's that are now available, right? Because they were right. They're getting cuts. They were going to be a free agent in the league. So, but and that does speak to how much more talented the NFL is than college football. I get it. I absolutely understand the frustration of the coaches. They're right to be frustrated. And it's not the system that I want, right? And I don't think it's the system we will have. We can't have it like this forever. They will eventually what's what I would like them to do is what I don't ever hear a coach say.

26:03They're for a little bit. We started hearing some coaches say, well, what we've got to do is we got to get a collective bargain agreement, right? They don't go ahead and say we need the players unionized, but that's what has to happen to have a collective bargain agreement. And they have got to recognize. And just like today, now, you know, what we got we got the SEC is suing LSU in an Alabama court and LSU is suing the SEC in a Louisiana court. And which, you know, they might have differing opinions. And so which court are we going to follow? What has to happen is what has to happen is is that why is that is that true? Is that the legal reality? That is that is generally true. Okay. We would apply whatever state law. Okay. Controls regardless of the venue. So, okay. So you wanted to talk law. We can talk law. Yeah. No. I well, I actually probably would, but not right now. I actually would like to talk to board you about that. Hey, I want to let me let me dovetail my last point into the point you made. Okay. The one thing I haven't heard you guys talk a lot about or others. It's getting traction is to me, the problem, one of the biggest problems is an existential

27:08problem, which is college football in its current form is becoming a less interesting product for the casual fan, but not according to the ratings. The ratings were giant. I know. Jay Billis loves to talk about I gel that, but, but I do think that ratings and the legalization of gambling in lots of states are you can't extrapolate. You can't totally separate those. And the thing about college sports, we don't watch minor league sports. And one of the best things you've said recently is that college sports is minor league sports on college campuses. You're 100% right. We don't watch minor league baseball. TV cell watches. We don't really watch other other lesser versions of the best of breed like G-League or even LPGA or anything like that in terms of the numbers. And to my mind, a reading college football gets the ratings it gets is because it stands apart in somewhat unique space. Everyone has had sort of a some kind of connection to that experience like they followed, you know, I was there when

28:13Karim Rush was there or you know, I remember this run with these group of guys. This is being utterly destroyed and I do worry that from a product standpoint, it's too complicated to figure out who's on your roster. There are no narratives or storylines going into the year. Other than when is Bill Bellicic going to get fired? I mean, it's just it's one of those things where I think they've got to step back and say, no attractive of a product is this and I'm not going to argue with the ratings, but I do think that's a that can be generated by things that aren't artists sustainable. Yeah. So let me let me let me say this. I'm 30. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I know I think you're 100% right. I think you make a fantastic point about, hey, the ratings are being propped up because now everybody can bet and they're watching their bets, but you run the risk of losing. What is your foundation? And that's true college football fans. And and maybe that's maybe that's inevitable. Maybe that is the evolution that that no one will be just a true college football fan. Nobody will care about their alma mater winning or losing. All they'll do is care

29:14about their bet because it'll override and overwhelm the the culture of sports. I don't think so. I don't think so, but there's an element. There's no doubt that it's not going away, right? Not anytime soon. But but your point is a city and and it's such a great college sports down. You know, but you're unlike Chicago. Yeah, I want to be clear. I do think you you make a good point. And and what I'm saying is listen, they basically had since 1984, they've had a volcano. That was having a little steam come out, right? And instead of saying, okay, let's manage what's coming out. We know we've got a we've we've got lava that's going to flow here at some point. What are we going to do? Right? Instead of like once the money started going up when an 84 Oklahoma and Georgia sued for their rights and we know how it's played out since then. They didn't start paying the players. Right? And they didn't see the and they went ahead with lawsuits that took well over a decade. Lawsuits that any intro to law student could tell you they were going to lose ultimately. Right? As long as somebody would fight it out long enough. And what they thought they were doing

30:17was just maintaining their system as long as they could. But what really they were doing was putting a cap on it and all the pressure was building. And now the volcano was exploded and it's everywhere. And and and the reality of that is you have to clean up a mess. And that doesn't happen overnight. So Brian, I'm going to let you go, buddy. I appreciate the call. And I'll say this. I'm with you. I there's lots of things. I know when I talk about people like, no, it's fine. They got to get the when anyone talks about like going back to what we had that's it's gone. So that's a complete waste of time. So don't spend any time talking to them. But they've got to do is talk their way through and fight their way through to get to what the new system is that's going to work. And that's where I'll go back to what I started with earlier. At some point, I'd like people to start looking over the horizon. Not how do I get a player on my roster right now or even how do I fight Lane Kiffin from getting a player on to his roster and take those resources and take that time and take that energy to start looking for the long term solution. Right? What I see is everybody fighting it out in the courts that and when you do that, you're looking for how do I get better today right now. And at some point, they've got to start looking at how do we get better in 2036?

31:24I mean, really everybody should be pointing towards let the wild west be the wild west. Tell about 20 30 20 31. It's when the grand of rights of the ACC gets low enough that those teams can walk away. That's the next tectonic shift. It's been on the board since like 2016. We started talking about whenever the ACC did their most recent TV deal. We have been talking that that would be it. And percolated up when the ACC seven schools started talking about wanting to change the dynamics and get more money. They wanted to become Texas and League and we know that having Texas in the big 12 didn't work. And so why would anybody go for that? And so we know another tectonic shift is coming. You know it. You know it's there. We know right when it's going to be. So stop wasting time hiring lawyers and fighting lawsuits. If Lane Kiffin wants to sign guys from the NFL, let him sign guys from the NFL. There's not that many of them. Right. You want to kick out of your league? Kick out of your league. Like that's the threat. And I can't believe the SEC made that threat to start

32:25because that's when you get to a doomsday scenario. And when you don't do it, then you know you're a fraud. Everybody knows you're a fraud. Spend you let these things go. Understand it's going to be bumpy and ugly and messy and crap. Start spending your time figuring out where do you want to be on 2030 with North Carolina and Virginia. And you know the top schools in the ACC say Miami, Florida State. We're open for business to play someplace else. And then are we going to get a big 10 with 20 and an SEC with 20 and one other league or are we going to go to a 64 team football only and the conferences stay in the background, handling all the other sports, figure that out. If you figured out where you were going, then you could start building the infrastructure you need to make that work. But what's going to happen is they're going to fight over what's best for me today for five years. And then you're going to get another eruption of schools leaving. And then football being out. We're breaking away from football. If that's what you're going to do, get it on the books,

33:27figure out when it is. Everybody sit down in a room that you think is a player in this. And have the conversations with the president and say, look, there's going to be 80 of us or there's going to be 60 of us or there's going to be 40 of us. And this is who it is. We pick you. Now what are the rules we're going to play by? And until they get that, they're fighting over the scraps. Okay, they're fighting over scraps right now because some backup tide end who couldn't make the Browns is not going to be what puts us you over the top. And you're so worried that they might get some mild advantage of you on one year. At some point, somebody has to look at the sport as a whole and nobody has done that for like 20 years. Maybe not since 1984, no one has done it. Since that lawsuit was won. And until they do, it's just a cash grab, a me first mentality of what's better for me right now. 34:29I think so as well. Yeah, I was agreeing with a lot of it. I want to talk about, you know, I love when passons on your show. I don't know if I could disagree with it more than yesterday. With him or me? With him. Okay. The three things I disagreed with. I'm going to start with the easiest one. First was the bullpen. He said, you know, the royals need four or five guys. They need. They need guys coming from different angles left handers, right handers. They need to have all these different guys. They need guys that have a strikeout pitch. It could strike people out in the bullpen. That's the number I want. Well, regardless, I don't care if there's five of them that look exactly the same. If they think they can strike guys out. Well, kind of like Brian said, I don't think Jeff would argue with you that they need more strikeouts out of the bullpen. I mean, I think he's just going

35:30a little bit deeper into that to collectively make the bullpen as good as possible. You don't want five guys that throw exactly the same. You know, I understand that. I'm just thinking my thing is I would be looking for guys that can strike guys out. That would be my number one priority. Yeah. I don't think you're wrong. I mean, I think it's clear that they set the tone. They showed you how it works back in 2013, 14, 15, 16 when they put together the bullpen that could dominate. And so yeah, I mean, I'm in total agreement that they need more k's out of the back of the pen. But my fear is that the way you're going to get there because Mason Miller took real prospects to get in a trade. Hater when the Padres acquired him took real prospect. You want to sign them in for agency? It takes real money. I think the best way to get there is to develop them in your system. And unfortunately, three drafts now are with three drafts into into bridges or we four.

36:32But you're just not far enough to where that system has pumped enough guys in. Do you have to supplement it with trades and free agency? Yes, you do. But the core, they're not going to be able to sign eight guys or trade for eight guys every year. They've got to get some guys that come through their system that have that kind of ability. And right now, we're not far enough along in the development. And I know I hate saying it. And I know everybody hates hearing it. Okay. But it's no different than being a fat ass and wondering why you cut down on what you eat for one day. And now you're not in perfect shape because it takes weeks, months, takes long term discipline. And unfortunately, that's what it takes to completely restock a system to where it's getting big bonuses every year from out of the system. To your stand, because I had a one bar today at lunch that doesn't mean I'm going to lose five pounds. I am telling you that to your face. Like fat face, hey, so do more things. Okay. The, the, the stuff, logo deal, you know, I understand that he

37:39is going to make $20 million next year. And he's probably penciled in as one of your starters. But if he's going to pitch, like he's pitching now, I know you got it. It makes no sense next year to send him out there for 30 starts. Even with the escalator clause in his contract and it makes no sense to me going forward to have logo pitch. Third one is Bobby, but you know, love Bobby, but he and he kept going on. He's a hall of famer and you know, you got to, you got to build around. It doesn't matter. The angels prove it every single year with Mike Trout. If you can't do the other things and don't have the other stuff around him, you know, Bobby, Bobby Witt should not be off limits and your whole focus. It's about wins. That's what the fans want. Yes. And your, your trout point is a great one. And also I would ask, who's the guy who's

I mean, I think there's a reason that's one of the reasons why he was there, Vance, had picked number 32 when they took him. But I would ask you if not him, then who? They have been trying to find the left tackle spot since Eric Fisher left. And they've won without having a great one. They won with Orlando Brown. They won with, was it Smith? What was the the Bucks guy? They've won without having the best. But ideally, you'd like to find a guy who has high level talent. And I will tell you that I think patience is the course to take what Josh Simmons, because he's a high level talent. If he's healthy, if he's invested, if he's focused, he's as good of an athlete as you're going to find to play that left tackle position. And I think he warrants the extra patience, right? Will it ultimately work? I don't know. I mean, I don't know. Is his body brittle? Is it just not going to be able to handle the NFL pounding? Is he never going to be able to carry the weight that's necessary to take a little bit of the stress

40:49and strain and pressure that he has to put on his joints and muscles because he's undersized or under weighted. I don't even think he's undersizing. He's just under weighted. I don't know. But I know this. They don't have another option like one. You're more. It's wasn't better. Kingsley Sue Amati is not better. Jalen Moore is not better. And you know, if they bottom out, I'll tell you this, if they bottom out and they go six, 11 and again, and they're picking, you know, number nine. And there's an offensive tackle. Take him, solve the problem, right? But this past year they could have gone with an offensive tackle. I don't know that there was a guy that anybody would say has a higher ceiling than Josh Simmons. That was there. I can tell you that Spencer Fano, who ultimately went at number nine to the Browns, short-armed. There are a lot of people. A lot of people are projecting him for guard, right? That's what we heard about the kid who went to the Patriots two years ago. Will Campbell. Yeah. Will Campbell from LSU. And we saw him get trucked and railroaded in the Super Bowl. So there just aren't many people who carry 330 pounds

41:54have arms. The length of, you know, an aircraft carrier and feet that can move like a ballerina. And that's what that position requires. And Josh Simmons is one of those guys. Right? He has those prerequisite athletic traits. He's worked the patients. What you hope is the fact that he has a sand put it. Miss games over the last basically 24 months from Ohio State through the chiefs to this preseason or the last 24 months. He's miss games for four different reasons. A blown patelli tendon, a family situation he had to take care of, a broken hand and now a bad back. That's either a guy who is snake bit and hopefully the good luck will turn around or that's a guy who's chronically out and more to come. But he is talented enough. This is not a guy. This is not Juan Yamoris. This is not Killeal Benson. Frankly, not to be rude to Killeal Benson. But this is not a UDFA that you're dealing with. This is a Dale Carter who is an insufferable pain in the ass for the

42:58chiefs coaching staff to deal with when he was here. Fortunately, he's largely turned his life around. But he was a pain in the ass. You know what he could do? Flat out ball. So they dealt with it. Okay. Rashi Rice can ball. I'm going to say he can flat out ball, but he can ball. So they deal with his crap. Tyree Kille could flat out ball. They deal with his crap. Travis Kelsey started his career coming off being suspended from marijuana at Cincinnati. How much did he care about football? Not enough to keep his ass from getting suspended at Cincinnati. Walked right in and like one of the first plays he played messed up his knee and had microfracture surgery and missed and he was already old for being a rookie. And then he went out and did the dice throw with the refs all the time and picked up personal foul penalties everywhere. He was an insufferable pain in the ass. Period. You can walk down Travis Kelsey and that career had happened. How would you feel right now? They don't all end up being Kelsey and they don't all end up being Tyree Kille. There's plenty of them that were super talented.
