Home Secretary swears in the Commons as she says she has been a victim of racial slurs

UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood swore in the House of Commons during a debate on her new asylum reforms, where she revealed she is a regular victim of racial slurs, including being called a "fing p**"** and being told to "go back home". 
During the session on November 18, 2025, a Liberal Democrat spokesperson, Max Wilkinson, accused her of using language that "stokes division" with her new tough asylum policy proposals.
