Who will advance? Keep up its playoffs.
Tune in Tuesday, March 17th at 6.30pm and 9.00pm only on ESPN and the ESPN app.
Day 1 of free agency. I think was pretty darn good, frankly.
I just don't want to know who's going to play quarterback, but that's fine.
And let that play out a little bit. Good morning, Bartholome.
What up? What up? This exciting time, at this is a lot of times where people, families and
things are changing for them. You know, guys that have waited four years, five years to be able to
get some financial stability. You know, and this is the glorious day for guys change their lives.
But also puts a level of pressure on them because once you get paid, then the expectations go up.
And you got, you know, other guys that are being signed that are hoping to be the finishing pieces.
I look at a guy like Mike Evans who is trying to, you know, he's won a championship.
Now he's trying to go out on a high note, right? It's always tough when the team that you've
played with your entire time tells you that it's time for you to go and you have belief that
you still have some more gaps in the tank. So that's the interesting thing as well. You know,
he was kind of forced out with Godwin and forced out with, um, um, in Jigbaugh.
Meta BK. Is it Meta BK? A Buka. A Buka. Man, so many in BK and Meta Bukles and Jigbaugh's.
But, you know, the fact that, you know, he was kind of forced out and he's there all time leader. So
that's the exciting part about it, man. And then it's like the hope this time last year we
watched the New England Patriots going to spend in frenzy. We watched guys like, you know,
Milton Williams, Hargrove, like in Minnesota, you paid crazy money that we thought that was
ridiculous for that type of player. A couple of years before that, it was Christian Curtain that
messed up the whole Tyrique Hill back to the Kansas City Chiefs type of thing because he reset the
market and, you know, the market reacts. But, you know, guys are going for teams. They're going for
so many new coaches in the league. You talk about 10 new coaches and 10 guys are trying to turn
the roster around as fast as they can as they have pressure. Listen, let's keep it right here
to begin. I thought both teams had a really good day. Let's start with the Giants.
Right when you were talking about it and it happened, uh, as you have talked about it for weeks,
I say, I likely becomes a giant. They bring back your main illuminor on what is a fair deal to be
sure. Uh, right away, John Harbagh goes and adds for special teams with Jordan Scout. It was
probably, if not the best punter in the league right there. Um, Ardarius Washington, uh,
Tremaine Edmonds at linebacker. Um, not that surprising that they went and did that and they lost
Juan Dale Robinson. They lost Flot. The Flot got a lot of money. Let him go. Like I'm fine with that.
And, you know, Daniel Bellinger, let the Titans sign all these guys. Go nuts. Have a great day.
I'll, I'll, I'll worry about that later when the Titans are going to do that. If you're,
if you're Brian Dable and your, uh, Robert Salon, you want to bring all your old guys back to
get the band back together to do what exactly, you know, we go call them the, uh,
tri-state area Titans. Exactly. Exactly. Bottom line is for the Giants. I thought that was a very,
very good day yesterday. And they, they just got better. And for me, the Giants, it's been all
about getting aluminum or back. And, and it helps clarify where you see them headed in the draft.
Yeah. I wonder if they got tougher. You know what I mean? Here's the thing though. Like,
with does Tremaine Edmonds signal that we won't be going, um, sunny styles.
Maybe Caleb Downs now becomes a guy that, when you're trying to round out this team,
you know, if you're going to believe in, um, you know, the corners, uh, banks probably,
probably is on his last late, but, you know, on the outside and D-bow. And then if you can bring
and then that, by the way, they brought in Greg Newsom this morning, the Giants did just like
less than 20 minutes ago. Oh, corner. The corner from Jacksonville. Okay. So added him as well.
So that adds that adds depth. But then if we're talking about where does this leave the Giants
at, at, at five, see the receiver or safety. And, you know, I think that it's up for debate for us,
to see which one is the better player because you talk about the receiver, the receiving position
is the position where we see that the scale is going up fast. As far as to safety,
safety is relatively still down. You know, they're, they're still, they're still a,
a level where like the safeties are in the 15, the 16 million mark, talk about receivers there
and who knows, you know, smart chase, 40 million. You know, um, I mean, even, even a guy like Pierce.
It's a certain number that he got. Right. So you know, you're going to have to pay a certain number for,
um, uh, for neighbors in a minute. You know, that's coming pretty soon. You know, and maybe
what this be a third season, you may have a year or two left with that. You know, so when you
think about that, from that standpoint, do you go for the top receiver just in case you, you,
you get to a point where neighbors like, man, that's, that's crazy money. We're not, we're not paying
that. I mean, look at, look at that. Look at the guy we're talking about. We're talking about
a heart ball who he's never really invested heavily in a number one free agent why receiver crazy.
So maybe he believes in, you know, he went from Hollywood Brown, trained Hollywood Brown for a
first round draft pick. Maybe he goes from Hollywood Brown to Zay flowers to Batman or whatever
they do by trying to make sure that they always have, uh, a young, cheap receiver playing at a
high level there. So that's the important part. You know, what's going on. And we'll see, we can
have the debate. Do you go, do you go? Caleb down to do you go? I mean, you would think with the
right tackle that you're not going to go, um, I know, uh, the only thought was unless you want to move
him to guard, which people have said that they certainly could do not the giant specifically,
but where he might project, but still are you taking a guard at five? Yeah, five. That's crazy.
I don't think it rules out Jeremiah love at all. I think it makes it a little more, a little more
possible when they brought in likely yesterday. I mean, likely right now is your number two receiver.
Yeah, fair. Yeah, he's, he's outstanding. Uh, yeah, guy, he's, he's smart. He didn't,
it's going to come off numbers. That doesn't tell the story from this past. Not at all. And he's
going to come off with a lot of play action and a lot of as he was injured, then he was buried behind
Mark Andrews. And then I guess funny because I saw like the whole conspiracy story. Oh, look at
Harbaugh. Make sure they pay Mark Andrews late in the season because he knew he was going to get
fired. He didn't think he's going to get fired so he can come here and make sure that the Ravens
wouldn't try and go for likely. Yeah, like, come on, man. But it's, it's, it's, it's fun to hear that.
Well, even that aside, I look at the rate, I look at the giants and those kind of moves
made them better. I'd be totally, totally on board with Jeremiah love at the fifth pick. Yeah,
they had to get tougher. But I mean, I just, listen, they just have to protect better. They
have to get better on the offensive line. But this is hard bringing aluminum back is what you
need it to do. But once again, this is Harbaugh. But even if this is Greg, this is Greg, this is
Greg Roman. But doesn't that tell you things with, with Harbaugh, if he was willing to bring
aluminum or back, he must have liked what he saw. Yeah, of course. I'm sure he, he, listen,
I'm sure he's good with all that. What I'm, what I'm trying to get to is Greg Roman believes so
much in his system. Do you need to spend five? And then how does, how does Tish fill up mean,
how does ownership feel about let's take one go only to do the same damn thing?
That, you know, that's, that's still a sore spot in giants history. And you talk about
it's so many good backs there that you can get in his system that, you know, he always kind of
had a three-part system. I mean, Ray Wright, second round draft pick, like Gus Edwards,
like even Keaton Mitchell, like, I can't remember. That's just let go, by the way.
Rayman's just let him go yesterday that didn't tend to him. He'll be up here. I mean,
you, you talk about before he got hurt, he was a guy with four three speed and then they were
trying to give a bigger role. So I, there you go. That's a home run hitter for you right there.
I can write that one down. But I just, I can see, I can see Harbaugh, I can't see Harbaugh going
been around the Ravens and been around playing for Harbaugh. I just don't think that he believes
that you have to get spend that type of equity on a running back. So I would go with Caleb Downes
or I would go with take your pick. Is it Makai Lemon? They have to get somebody opposite.
The most important thing is to get somebody opposite.
Tate would be the guy to from Ohio State. I don't know if he's too similar.
I don't know if you want that same guy from maybe. See, I'd be almost tempted to go further away
from wide receiver now and think about that in the second round. No, you, no, no, you have to get,
you have now a days when you look at these teams, they have two legitimate receivers.
You can't get away. They thought they could get away with, with, with, with slate.
It's not enough because if another team, you're going to get patched with 10,
that could be a wash for the number one guy. You need a guy like Wado, opposite of,
of Tariq. You need a guy opposite AJ Brown, right? Everywhere you go, you got to have Williams,
opposite of Ross St. Brown. You know, you talk about the, the quartet that was dives and Watson
and all those guys. You talk about what it was like dealing with the Vante Adams and Pukin
the Cooler and Jigbo Shaheed. You got to have dudes, two dudes because it's too easy to take away one
dude with either scheme or if the other team has one of these elite cornerbacks. Now, listen,
I don't have a problem with that. It's just, do I want to do it then or do I want to do it later on
in maybe the second round when it comes to a wide receiver? What's the drop off in second,
I mean, you talked about last year, Luther Burton with somebody that popped up, but if you
talking about receivers and positions that's more equipped, even more than the running back,
positions that are more equipped to more equipped to transition smoothly from college to pros
is receivers because the game, the college game is such, it's so predicated around that position.
Then there's the Jets and I feel good about all of it. Um,
Demario Davis came over right after our show ended yesterday, which was something that you were
talking about during the show. Please explain to people as you did yesterday why Demario Davis
at this age at age 37, 14, 15 years in the league now that we are thinking that this is a good move
for the Jets. Well, Demario is a late bloomer, right? Remember, he got released from Cleveland.
We got rid of him here for every Williams sin. Remember that when he came back for a year,
decided to move on from twice. Um, he's a guy that is a, yo, he's a, he's a devoted Christian one.
He's like a no nonsense, like leadership type of guy, right? And that's what that room and that's
what that locker room needs. And I wonder, I'm trying to figure out that Demario played. No,
I think maybe, I think maybe, uh, Glenn was going from New Orleans when Demario was there. Maybe
played maybe crossed over once, but Demario's a guy. Remember Rex came in. He's like, oh, he's the
next Ray Lewis and we all laughed at him and stuff like that. And he's built out a great career.
Late bloomer, he went down to New Orleans and kind of established himself as one of the premier
linebackers in that system and in that area. And for me, that says a lot about Sherwood.
Because now that takes Sherwood away from having to call the plays. Now you have the adult in the room.
Demario is with him for a couple of years. So there you go. So you have, so you have the
Demario Davis experience. Now this allows Sherwood just to be a tack doll that allows Demario to kind
of be like the leader, the, the, uh, air traffic controllers, so to speak. You know, and you
just think about the difference in age from Demario and the other players there. I mean,
Demario's closer to my age than he is to his teammates age. So you talk about that, you know,
I would think it would be a level professionalism that will come inside that locker room now
that can match with Harrison Phillips. So now you have adults and you have, you have adults,
and then you put that on the third level, then you have mecha, Fitzpatrick, who's now the spring
chicken. So it brings such a level of professionalism that it makes everything a lot better in that
locker room and accountability becomes a lot higher as well. Now I didn't know. I thought maybe
they would go with Edmonds or somebody, but I knew they had to go with a thumper, right? So
Demario is still like a, he was never known when we were playing with him as like some physical
downhill guy. You know, I mean, he developed into that. But now as the league has changed to more
of a finesse league, he still is tougher than most inside linebackers, far as physicality coming
downhill, hitting you, big hits, things of that nature. So there's a couple of things I want to
know about here. Number one, as I look at how the jets handled this, they didn't go crazy
in the way they were spending their money. And I don't have a problem with that. They were somewhat
responsible in what they were doing with Onyamada, with Osay and Igbara. These are not guys that got
four and five year deals that are going to hang you up here in the future. Having said that,
did they just sign guys who are going to make them a little bit better, but then they're just trying
to navigate their way through next year. In other words, at quarterback where they have not made a
move as of yet, Malik Willis ends up somewhere else. Yeah, I don't want to ask if we're already
punting on the season, but does this feel like whoever you're going to end up having in that spot
is just going to navigate it through for another year before you try to draft next year.
Well, I don't think it's a give up. So what this is is, it's not going to commit to a ton
long term here. No, what you're trying to do is you're trying to catch lightning in the
bottle with some of these some of these picks. And when you say like, okay, well,
the Mario Davis, that's a contract that had to come off in two years. You talk about the
outside. That's one year, right? On your modest one year, I believe, right? And it's bar A. You
talk about, you talk about those two guys, oh, sorry, and I think bar A younger guys, they're 2526.
Right. So that's 12 million, but one, 10 for two. So for your outside past rushers,
that you pair with Wilming Donald, you just, that just allowed you to be able to have
pretty much guys that can get to the passive, but these aren't past rushers. These are stout
edge-setting players that were, you know, behind, you know, you had, you had
Tray Henderson, you had some, um, the, the, the, the, the dropper, they had some more some
higher or whatever his name was from from A&M last year. They, they were stuck behind them.
So they didn't get the, they got limited reps. And so like when you look at the numbers and you
look at the sack numbers, they're not going to be gaudy where you're like, oh, man, look what we
got, but you're projecting that with more opportunities and more timing that these guys can play
at a high level. You got them on the cheap. Like, it's almost like when the first time I hit
free agency, I only had 10 games started, right? And nobody, people were paying you on potential.
Right. Well, people that knew me knew me and they knew well, he sent behind Ray Lewis and he
sent behind Ed Hartwell or Tommy Polly. He was a guy that's getting better. And maybe he's
starting to figure it out and play at a high level. My first year coming off of that,
getting my first three year deal, short term deal. I made all pro that year. You sent them
saying, so like, you want to do that because you pan, you, you're getting a discount, right?
Because then the next time I was up, the Jets had to pay for what I had done, not for what the
potential of what I could be. So when I look at this, it also tells me in my opinion that the Jets
aren't going edge setting defensive event with Bailey because if you were going to do that,
you already had one starter to go out and get two edge guys seems a bit much. Maybe one. And then
the guys wrote in, rotate in. Maybe Bailey has learned how to be a professional. He's not ready to
be a full-time starter. It gives you a swing guy case. Somebody gets hurt. But to go out and
basically get four guys, you have four guys. If you get Bailey, four guys that's on your outside.
That's not the best use of, or in my opinion, allocation of funds. So this tells me that maybe,
they may be going safety or maybe they go on RV or Reese because he's a guy that can do both.
Yeah. And I think it's probably reached because there, there's the flexibility. But it's,
but it's scary though because if Reese, remember, you still got two guys on the outside.
So for me, I wonder if they're having buyers remorse from paying sure would.
It's possible. I mean, the last year that was the first year of his deal. He's a solid guy,
but they paid him because he's a tackling machine. But, you know, he didn't play well early on
in their scheme. And it was some funny. For me, it was a little weird over there when they,
when you brought up his name, you talked about him. It was kind of funny. So maybe he has some
mature to do. And maybe they're hoping that Demario Davis can be the CJ Mosody to Quincy Williams as
well. Here's Rich to me. He was on with Grasse last night. Rich is going to join us at 11 on the
Jets approach to free agency. Going into this air and Glen and Darren, who you wanted to bring in
some older type guys who bring leadership to the table. I think their leadership in the locker room
was sorely lacking last year. And this was an acknowledgement of that. Now, when you say older
guys, I mean, Demario Davis is 37 years old. That is ancient for a middle linebacker and Kudos to
him for being able to last this long in the NFL at one of the most, you know, physical positions
on the field. 15 million guaranteed for a 37-year-old inside linebacker is a lot of money.
It is. And it does make me wonder right now where they feel like they are in this process.
Like, nothing came out of it yesterday. And I guess it's probably going to be until I see who
the quarterback is. That makes me think the Jets really have a great chance here to be competitive
next year. And I know that that's such an obvious thing. Well, we don't know who the quarterback is.
I mean, we're talking, we're talking seven, talking seven, eight wins. Well, but they're trying,
they're trying to be better. Are we talking about seven or eight wins when we're talking about
Geno Smith? Come on, man. Yeah, yeah, you are. Really? Geno Smith is still an upgrade from Justin
Fields. That's not, that's not setting the bar high. Listen, Geno has not, Geno to me,
before he got to, when he was in Seattle, he was a top 15 to 20 pick in my, in my opinion.
15 to 20 quarterback. Yeah. Yeah. In my opinion. But he, but he wasn't last year. He was terrible
last year. Once again, the Raiders were ready to move on. Once again, Chip Kelly. Yep. I agree.
And who the hell was he throwing to? Bowers was, Bowers was hurt the whole time. Yep.
Ashen Gentie, they didn't have an offensive line. Like, somewhat understandable,
when you think about there and the toughest division in football, I don't feel optimistic about
it. Look, if I come through it and, and you're going to tell me they're going to win seven games with
Geno next year, I think that's the high end. I think that's absolutely a high end. I don't think
it's any way that they're a, I don't think they're a three-win team. I don't think they're,
if Geno with the quarterback, you don't think there's any way there's a three-win team. No, they're
going to be better than last year. I hope so. I mean, their defense was maybe one of the worst
defenses in football last year. I agree. And it got better yesterday. My point is they have
on your mind as a good runstuffer. You have McAfee's Patrick. Yep. You have Melachy Moore,
who's going to be better than he was last year. You have Thomas. You have two first-mile draft picks.
It is impossible to not pass your win total from last year. I don't get, I don't care who's the
quarterback. Be careful. I don't care who's the quarterback. Be careful. It is no way in hell.
They're going to win only three games next year. My problem is this. If they want to go and
try and win six or seven and then they're trying to establish a culture. Okay. Win games. Yes.
I don't care about the culture. I don't care about any of that. Just win as many games as you can.
They bought and winning players. Right. So as long as you're trying to do that, I'm good. But they,
did they bring in players that are guys that they didn't take major risks on and after next year,
we could just get rid of them and then move into the next one. Oh, right. McAfee's Patrick,
and it knows two outside linebackers to me are to me future players that they got because they
want to balance the books because they got my very short term deals though. If it's Patrick,
no, but the other two, yes. Of course not. Right. Because they're not proving. So this is a
proven deals for those guys and they'll get their money next year and they'll make the decision
on if they want to hold on to Will McDonald or these are the guys that they want to go forward with
into your point. If they draft the guy like Arville Reese, then they have their ability to just say,
okay, well, move down to and replace one of those guys. We lost last year.
So I don't about anyway, do I? I don't don't think that you don't pay anybody 12 million dollars
because you think you don't think you're going to come and play a good ball out. No, of course,
like you look at the other linebackers guys that are at certain places that got recycled teams,
three million, four million, 12 million, double digits. As you expect them to start
and you expect them to contribute in a major way. No, it's it's you expect them to be centerpieces.
My point. Yeah. So don't don't I'm not worried about the fact, but the fact that they didn't go.
That's because the money won't allow because the money wouldn't allow. I mean, who would be bigger
game honey that the outside, if you're not, unless they were trying to sign a trade Henderson,
when you're not ready to win. No, and that wouldn't have made any sense. Right. That would not
made any sense. I guess my point is just this. I want them to win and I don't expect them to
win a championship next year. Okay. Just higher to the crap. And if you're going to
bring in Chino to be the starter, you're going to have a professional quarterback that.
To me, Geno isn't too much. See this the thing, we we're so we're so jaded from Geno and the
Giants in the form because you do one that got Eli. I'm jaded from. We're so jaded for
we're so jaded. I mean, but look at the circumstances that the Raiders was just as big of a message
to Jets last year. Right. So what makes me? Geno's going to be better in this mess. All the fame coach
got fired because he trusted Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly. That's a trigger name too. That's like
sent Adam Gays. Like you say Chip Kelly around these New York circles. I mean, these NFL circles.
It's like, yeah. Yeah. And you talk about how much like the worst over payment of all last season
players was not players. So it was chip Kelly got six million a year to be the offensive coordinator
last year by the Raiders. And he left a head coach and job because he knew he was thinking as a college
coach. And Geno without their number one receiver, they traded away his his his his second best
receiver in Jacobi Myers. They have buyers. He was hurt all year. And they got an offensive line.
I'm just I'm very and this will even know if it's going to be Geno. Concerned is not the word.
Geno can end up in Minnesota. I'm very reserved right now with how this looks like I'll give an
example. If kind of Murray ends up here, I'll actually feel pretty damn good. And if he doesn't go
to Minnesota, like, I don't feel like that's out of the complete realm of possibility. And maybe
they didn't spend a lot of money just in case they were going there.

I think he's more pointing to the idea that, you know, this past year was such a mess.
Yeah, it was a past year. But before that, come on, CJ Mosley was a leader, man.
Rod Justin Fields to the number one pick in 2027 from Mustafa.
Joseph's one. Big names don't win big games, Carlin, that from Garden State Hub.
Yeah, listen. And it's all over the Garden State, by the way.
I would say that I totally agree. I don't have a problem with the fact that the Jets did not go
big game hunting yesterday. I'm totally fine with that because in addition to what you see,
the Raiders have to do. Unfortunately, the Jets are still in that position where they have to pay
a tax if you're going to go try to land the big time player. Look how much the Raiders gave
lender bomb yesterday. And that's $80 million over three years. They believe in the offer.
You'll be afraid. He'll be a free agent like in two years.
Another massive deal. Yeah, but I think he'll go there and realize the Raiders are the
Raiders and get the hell up out there though. Yeah, but he at least got paid for it.
Yeah, you know, because what did you say the Ravens were going to give him 22 and he ended up
taking 27? I mean, come on. 15 more million dollars. But sometimes you do have to pay that extra.
And I do like the fact that the Jets were not over the top
irresponsible in what they were doing. I just still wonder.
I'm just sick and tired of the losing. I'm sick and tired of 15 years. I'm sick and tired of
just watching a team not be competitive. So with all of that being the case,
Gino Smith is not going to excite me for a season. And that just makes me think we're just
trying to get through another year and get to a draft. But tell me this. Outside of Kyle
Emory, who else is going to excite you? And Kyle Emory just became exciting to you.
Well, I mean, the thing that we talked about last week would excite. And that's Mac Jones.
That would say to me, we've got a real chance to be a lot better. But here's the thing.
Mac Jones is just as unproven as Gino Smith. Gino Smith, our argument is even more accomplished
than Mac Jones. I understand. Max Younger, Gino's further down the road. But Gino ain't like Gino
like Russell Wilson age. But I feel like Gino. He's don't flackle. But I feel like Gino
really needs things to be about as perfect as can be. He's got a run game, a number one
receiver and a good offensive line. What are we talking about? I mean, they had a run game last
year with Gentie. Not really. I mean, the guy, he didn't have a great year, but he didn't have
a great year because the offensive line. I'm not going to argue with about the greater offensive line.
It wasn't good. It wasn't very good at all. Right. And then he didn't have the catching machine.
We thought it was going to be the second coming. We thought he was going to be
traiming bright. All right. Let's hear it. Jose and Brooklyn is going to start us off today
on ESPN, New York. Jose, what's up, baby? Good morning, Bart and Carly. Shout out to the company.
And thank you for taking my call as always. I am. I'm feeling good about all the additions
of what the Jets made. I think the trade that they made for for Fitzpatrick is really solid.
And all of the other players are either going to be starter, starter pieces or
deprotational pieces. And I like it because it gives them the flexibility to still
build out the rest of their roster through the draft and all like the hope for the team that
is an improvement. But I wanted to ask Bart to kind of put on his GM cap and, you know,
kind of, and you kind of already did that by telling us who they might take, who they might
take in the draft. But I'm kind of thinking, what would they do at the at the 16 spot because
I'm thinking they still may need another, either another defensive back. Oh, receiver, I was
thinking receiver as well. Or do you see them also possibly going offensive line as well?
I just wanted to throw that out there. Thank you for your time, guys.
I mean, they put a lot of assets in their offensive line. I mean, they got two first round draft
picks, only edges. Tittman is the second round draft pick. Yep.
They paid Myers. Yep. One more, you can't, you can't pay everybody off his line. Life
by all the great lines. I remember here, whether it was Alan Fanonka, it was the Brickersaw Ferguson,
it was, we still had, we still had Brandon Moore.
Yeah, I didn't expect the Jets to do anything big. Yeah, we did have slossing, like you,
you always going to have, it's always like, oh, look at these guy. He can hang out. Right.
It can't be, it can't be across the board. Right. He's there. You can say, well, he's covered up.
Like he's covered up. He has help. He has a great center right here next to him. And he has to,
I mean, you got your edges protected. Now, do they have to go out with they would have liked
to maybe bring back John Simpson, maybe, but maybe they think they can get an upgrade with that.
It's the, the, the, the, the, the free agency is full, full of inside guards.
So we're being truthful here about Geno, right? Last year was a bad season.
17 interceptions. 19 touchdowns. Yeah, who was he throwing to? I know. But year before,
21 and 15, 15 over the last three years, Geno's got 41 interceptions. I mean, that's a big number.
That is it. You said you said the last three years. The last three seasons. In other words,
his last two in Seattle. And then last year, it's got 41 interception. That's a big. No, divide that,
though, divided by three. It's what? 13 plus 13, three, almost 14. I mean, that's a big,
big number. That's, that's when you've only thrown 60 touchdowns to 41 interceptions. That's
not what you're looking for. That's not a great ratio. All right. Well, then go curcusses in.
I guess you want to make yourself happy. Go go curcusses. I didn't say that. I don't want to make,
curcusses isn't going to make me happy either to listen. I know. I will make you happy. I know
there's no perfect solution. I understand that. What I want to see is somebody that I would actually
have more belief in that could make a difference. I think like Matt Jones could say that's the
difference. I knew it. I knew you. What? But what if he's not able to make a difference? What if
he's not available? That's not available right now. All right. Murray will be. But if I don't know
if he's going to end up in Minnesota or what? He has to pick you. Yes, he does. Yes, he does.
But that's why I want to, and that's why I know they haven't gone and done anything yet,
because you're kind of waiting for the Murray part of this to drop. Does he want to go to
go on to go to Minnesota? And Minnesota doesn't want him. How that plays out? I don't know. I'm not
going to be excited by Carson. When excited tonight, even the word excited. It's the wrong word.
It's hard to get excited. Not even going to be optimistic if Geno's the guy. That's my point.
Frank Newark. Next ESPN, New York. Frank, what do you got?
Hey, it was going on, guys. Good morning. I was just going to say, yes,
today, when the Giants signed to say it lightly, I actually, it just brought me back to sometime
in 2012, when the Giants signed more tellers Bennett right off as a free agent from the Cowboys.
And it kind of gave me the same vibe because remember, more tellers Bennett was Jason Witton's
understudy. He kind of, and people would kind of sleep on him. But I was probably one of the
few that said, I really, even though he plays for the Cowboys, I kind of liked him as a tie then
because he was under the radar. And going forward, he actually had a decent career in the NFL.
And the same thing with, as they had likely, because he actually plays behind Mark Andrews.
And it's kind of hard when they haven't established tied it over there in Baltimore for people
that don't really follow the sport. They even notice I say, I likely, but I, it was like music to my
ears and what have you. So I was kind of, I was really excited about that. And again, but I like
more more is that we signed these free agents. Not to a long term feel we're not obligated.
And then to something very friendly where it helps us out overall makes us look on paper. We
look better, which I'm excited about. Yes, steady, steady solid players now that could potentially
surprise you. Like when we, when we got Franklin Myers, remember what Franklin Mars was when we got
not look at him today. We trained for him. He had got injured after they won the Super Bowl
with Aaron Donald. He was good for us here. We paid him. And we got, but we got two years of
cheap labor out of him. And then now he's just got paid again by Robert Salah. You look at,
you look at guys like when we, nobody was like banging the drum when we bought Quincy Williams over.
Like nobody said anything. No, no. And those guys developed here. Exactly. They developed. You got to
have, you got to have high end draft picks. You got to have development farm systems and stuff
like that. And they, and you have to have draft picks. And we have all three. Get ready, New York

Make us happy, bring some more pieces to the team. Yeah, I'm excited, but I know people are
going to be like, yeah, but you still got no quarterback and you guys still know the inevitable's coming.
It is, but we're in the right direction and not for nothing. I hope he builds on it and Bart,
this is the question I told Tom Bauer and I'm going to ask you, I don't know if this information
is true, but they said that once you acquired two picks yesterday, is that true or is it just,
you know, false information? Yeah, that was a, um,
compensatory picks. He got a fourth and a fifth. And I think now you can, you can trade compensatory
picks. You can. So they got, I don't know what the hell they got them for, but they got it
for the fifth. So now they, they got even more ammunition to move up. Who knows if they keep it,
but a fourth round draft, but you can get some really good players in the fourth round.
We talk about some, so one, so one, so one dimensional players that is good at
let me go. Please, let me show everybody just calm down. Yes. Everybody calm down. I mean,
now we're going to start loading the fourth round picks. They're not all you. Okay. I mean,
you, you didn't even get drafted. They're not all you, but you never know, but what I'm saying is,
you're also, you also can use those to move up. Yes. Yes. A lot of people, you might,
you know, take a chance on a, on a tight end. Like I said, last year, Harold Fanon kept saying,
oh, go get Harold Fanon. All he did was damn, they get a thousand yards receiving.
He was fantastic. And I said, go get him. Okay. And we, and we, we had two fourth round draft
picks. We spent them on other people. Did Harold Fanon, was Harold Fanon a fourth round? Yes.
I didn't think he was that late. Yeah. I remember you saying, I remember you talking about Harold
Fanon, Harold Fanon all day, all day, every day leading up to the dress. Yes, you do. And what,
what? No, he was the 67th pick. So that's a third round pick. Oh, oh, I'm sorry. Oh, wow.
And the early third round pick. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. No, no, no, there's a big difference between
a third and a fourth than a day two. It's the same day. No, it isn't. It's a third round,
a fourth round is the same day. No, they're not. That's the art. You got day one. Yeah. It's the
day two is the second and third round. And day three is the fourth round. Man,
miss me with, miss me with 30 picks. I know who Harold Fanon is. I don't know who the Jets
second round pick was. No, third round pick. Yeah. I don't know them. I don't know them.
Just respectful. Had a chance to put the spotlight on your boy to say,
bar sky says, oh, I do is say, bar sky has been right. Half of your analysis yesterday was like,
see, I told you, all I do is talk about how you've been right. And their third round pick last
year was a Serie A Thomas who ended up playing a lot of corner. I much would have rather took
Harold Fanon, who Dan Ray gave a thousand yards, which should doors Sanders. Here's the point
you want to make. Here's the point you want to make. The Jets drafted Malachi more in the fourth
round last year. That's the point you want to make. So you hope he's going to be the guy. I still
agree. I agree. You were right about Fanon. You were 100% right about Fanon. He didn't. He
didn't. He didn't. Next Antonio Gates. He put up ridiculous numbers at bowling green before that.
Yes. And he absolutely should have been drafted higher than he was. He had a fantastic year. You
were right. That was interesting. The day, though, is what's going to happen today.
Okay. This is where you settle in. This is where guys that thought it was a bigger market for
themselves. Come back to reality. They start saying, maybe I'm not going to get the five year deal.
You start having conversations with your agent. Now, the big guys don't matter because they're
going to get their money regardless. But the big money, the major money has already been
doved out. Now, the market is going to settle in. It's going to recalibrate. And guys are going
to start saying, Oh, this guy's still available. Let's go get him. All right. So right now, I'll give you
the what they have listed as the top remaining free agents. Okay. Hendrixson is not coming to the
jets. That's right. Murray is listed as second. Rashid Walker, the tackle from Green Bay is listed
as third. We don't need to tackle. Wollen the corner. See, like he's going to get paid as money.
Jawan Jennings. He didn't sign. No, not yet. I like him. He'd be my slot guy. He nasty.
That's due to always had like the little blind weird stuff in his head and stuff. He's played
for San Francisco. Yeah, I always had like the blind stuff and say he's tough. He's like getting him
as like getting Matt Collins. Like he's a tone setter. I think he's better Matt Collins. Yeah,
but he's like a tone setter. Like he's a guy that's he's a little fiery,
best-to-cuffs type guy. Romeo Dobbs. Yeah.
Braden Smith. The tackle. See, Romeo Dobbs is flirting with the, I'll take a one-year
to prove myself type of thing. I remember like that that that that numbed that receiver opposite of
I mean, I and I miss you think he has it, but that that's available.
Let's hit Brian and Milburn next. Yes, be in New York. Brian, what do you got?
I'm going to use that in New York Scotland. Hello, so I don't understand why Jetsons and other
preventives were originally written and mortgaged there the day like this. What is the problem with
Jack's racket? Let me get that just a second round. Wrapped it and it's separating. He can do
anything. I don't want to say it. You know that the Jetsons power is not developing a quarterback.
You already have a different one. In fact, he can't say he's been out for years. He's just
told some men. I don't understand why people wouldn't want him to be. Yeah. Because they
seen him and they say, well, he sucks, but then there's been other guys that have sucked that don't
suck no more. I mean, listen, that's what it is. It's not like Jets fans haven't seen him in his
division. Patrick Taylor on the YouTube chat over at ESPN New York's YouTube channel Mac Jones
is soft at his porridge. He crawls back to the huddle like he's dying on every place. So
plus who's going to fix his footwork and throwing motion on a weekly basis in New York? I was
that not fixed. First of all, Frank Wright was a quarterback. Yes. What are we talking about?
And Frank is a good offensive mind. Like they did want to show you want a Super Bowl.
Consider where the Jets are. They did well by getting Frank Reich. My point. That's why I don't like
thank you for who's going to fail Frank Wright. He did. He did develop Carson wins when he was
an MVP candidate. Big AP. I'd rather have someone proven who who is proven on that list of
quarterbacks that we have available now. Who do you look at and say, yep, bang. Got our guy.
That's what I thought. Thanks for listening to the Bard and Carlin podcast.
