I have the giant. There's a wild part here. I cannot know what it was. Cam, Jackson Dart, and Leake Neighbors. Those guys are all healthy. They're going to be a playoff team, but they're going to be a playoff team. Those guys stay healthy and play the majority of the season. I think they can go to the playoffs. Giant win. That's one hour in the books, three hours to play with. Then we start out, and we're very excited about this.

1:00Because we want to get more into College Football on the show. We love it, but I feel like we don't discuss it as much as we probably could. We're going to change that, and we're going to change that on a weekly basis. Heather Denich now joins the show. Heather, good morning. We're thrilled to have you on every week during this college football season. Good morning, John. And how are you? Welcome to my house. Oh, thank you. Thanks for having us into your home. So we're thrilled to have you on the show. There's so many different areas we want to get into here. Let me start with the Michigan of it all from last week. So it's kind of a two-part question. What's your take on what happened? And how does Michigan move forward? Do you still think they have any chance this year, even though they won? Are they in massive trouble right now? They're in massive trouble because they don't have good quarterback play, right? I mean, let's be real about the situation. It does not seem like they're a top 25 team. I did not have them in my top 25 when I did it. As far as the clock goes, man, I can talk about this forever. So people don't want to hear this.

2:00But the difference in what the officials looked at and what you saw on your couch is a broadcast speed. There is a quarter of a second delay in the broadcast feed. So if you're asking the question, do the officials get it right? The answer is yes, based on what they were looking at, which is the Hawkeye system and the Big Ten's replay system that runs through Rosemont, Illinois. So by NCAA rule, Bang Bang Play, the video that they saw, they made the call. There was a second on the clock. And people are saying, well, that's not what I saw on my couch. Well, that's why the Mac is saying you've got to use the protocol that says use the broad cat's feed. This is where the discrepancy was. That's what people don't understand and don't care to understand because everybody's watching it on their couch. And that's not what you see with your own eyes, the same thing the official saw. And I get that. I understand that. But those guys on the field, they did their jobs.

3:03And if you were looking at what they were looking at, which is what the Big Ten released. And Kudos to the Big Ten for the transparency, because that is not what that conference usually does. So if you watch that, I think that's pretty hard to argue. The Big Ten's feed. Now Heather, if they had made a bigger deal, if the Mac had come out earlier and not accepted the explanation, would this be something that they could potentially have a problem with? I mean, they want the, you know, the result of the game change. I find that hard to believe now that's not going to happen. But if it was some, if it was a bigger deal was made of it when it happened as opposed to them kind of accepting it originally, do you think that this, this would have been a bigger controversy than it, than it is now? I don't know how it could be a bigger controversy because I feel like we've been talking about it non-stop. But I understand that's the other question people have is, you know, what changed over 72 hours or whatever it was, right? And I talked to Mid-American Conference Commissioner John Steinbrecker after the second release

4:03came out saying they didn't follow the protocol. And I asked him that question. I said, what changed? And he said, well, we had more time to go back and gather more information. And over those days, we learned that the big tendon and follow the review protocol, right? So the beef is within the system, not the call itself. That's what people need to understand. And I agree that everyone should be using the same thing that NFL does. Use what people see at home so that there are no conspiracy theories floating around, that there's 15 clocks and some underground thing happening behind the scenes because there's not the one clock that is the official game clock is the big one on the stadium board. So that's the one that everyone's supposed to use unless God prevent the power goes out and then you got to have it on the field by an official. Oh, just great stuff. College football making, you know, real waves in week one. All right. So speaking of week one, LSU, Big Winter, Clemson, Big Loser, where is LSU great?

5:08Is Clemson awful or are we going to meet in the middle and maybe both are true? Yeah, I think good reporter will tell you the truth. I always lie somewhere in between my friend. I put LSU at number four in my top 25 this week. I think that is that is a fantastic football team. But what's most impressive about what I saw, I was there in Baton Rouge. And the thing that impressed me most is the fact that there are 48 transfers on that roster. And Lane Kiffon got them to play like it was November. I mean, Clemson looked horrible. They's not belong on the field with LSU. I mean, the speed, the talent, all of it up front, they just got outplayed, out coach. I mean, the play calling for LSU, the execution of it, it was all perfect for the Tigers. And so I do think that they are a national title contender. They should be, that's what Lane Kiffon was hired to do when it yesterday.

6:09But also think that Clemson and I stay incorrect because I thought they were going to be one of the most improved teams in the country. And it's time to ask the question of Davos Wienys, the right guy for them. Heather, is it as simple? I mean, the way they explained it is is that he just hasn't been aggressive as aggressive in the portal as these other teams. Is that simpler? Is it just time for him to maybe move on? Well, that's part of it. But I mean, guys, listen, everybody knows that a national title contender has a Heisman trophy quarterback. You talking about this year, you look at Ohio State, Texas, they have multiple Heisman contenders on their team. Clemson hasn't had a quarterback since Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watte, right? And you've got a revolving door at coordinator. I mean, Venables and Chad Morris together way back in the day. Like that was a dream team. And he was running the show and they were awesome. And it feels like since then, you have the combination of quarterback, portal, staff,

7:15and all of those things. And that does go back to the head coach. All of those things not working together adds up to what I saw on Saturday. Heather did it with us here on ESPN, New York and MSG television, breaking down all things college football. So, I mean, the first game of the year was Clemson and LSU. The next game of the year is this weekend, Ohio State and Texas. Boy, it's hard to pick against Ohio State. The games in Texas, the quarterback place should be elite. There's so much NFL talent. Who do you like going into this game on Saturday? When in doubt, go with the home team. I've had Texas, my number one preseason team. And the only difference between Ohio State and Texas is home field advantage to me right now. But I will say, last week for Texas, it was hard to tell much about any of these teams who are putting their backup quarterbacks in on the third quarter, right? But Sark said after that game, they've got to do better on the offensive line. They've got to do better running the ball. But when you see Arch thrown into Camcome and their transfer wide receiver who came in,

8:16Ryan Wingell, I mean, their running backs, Hollywood's mothers again. There's an example of the transfer portal making a difference in like the first five plays. And we're going back to the Davos Winging conversation, right? LSU, transfer portal. I mean, it's just glaring how much of a difference that can make. And you look at the Indiana Hooters last year, winning the national title, piecing together a roster like that. That's the difference right now. Heather, can I ask you this? So just getting back to LSU for a quick second and then you're all impressive in everything else. What exactly is the argument from the SEC about having those two players that were at NFL training camps play at LSU? Because before, like, I mean, just with my experience in hockey, it was more about the money, right? You couldn't have any, like if you were getting paid, you were no longer eligible because you weren't in amateur. But now that's all changed with NIL and guys have agents that are getting paid and you know, paid millions and millions of dollars. Yeah. It's a fundamental and philosophical argument as much as anything else because it's about

9:18eligibility and eligibility window. And Greg Sanky is big on the development of players. And the more you bring guys back, you risk having to bump somebody off the roster to make a spot for them, which to be fair, Lane Kiven had room for these guys if they were going to come back. But that's not always necessarily the case. But also the trickle down effect to the high school level cannot be underestimated. You got guys who are committing to these programs thinking they are going to be the next tied in at LSU and then all of a sudden it's like, oh, no, wait, wait a minute, you know? And so the reason the NCAA didn't grandfather that class of 2223 in to this new eligibility rule is because teams have moved on. Guys had gone, coaches had recruited everybody's moving forward and then you impact not only guys who are on the roster and have been working all summer for these spots, but kids in the high school level who have committed. And so it's a big picture of holistic developmental issue in terms of eligibility. Is it going to be Michigan beat Oklahoma this weekend or is that just forget about Michigan

10:22now this season? I'm going to find out. I mean, look, we always over react on week one, but I didn't see anything in that Michigan game that leads me to believe they're going to hang with the Summoners. I really like John Matier, the Oklahoma quarterback. You know, I had a chance to talk to him this summer. And that they measured his grip strength, which is a really cool stat. And it's just got so much stronger from the injury that he had last year. And you know, when he's on, he's on. I mean, he was in the high school conversation before he got hurt last year. And if they can put it all together and get the pieces in place around him, that's a team that can surprise some people. Their schedule though is so hard. That's my only reservation. This is a bust win for the Summoners because of what they have coming down the stretch. Heather, how impressed were you with Miami? Man, I better than last year. They are so good. Malachi, Tony is a lexeric, Darian, men said is in the high school conversation immediately.

11:23I mean, I know Stanford was depleted, but I don't care who you are. You go 2,500 miles away from your school and put a show on like that. That's impressive start to the season. So I have Miami. I want to say number three in my, yeah, I put up up to number three, right behind Ohio State and Texas in my top 25 this week. It's them and everybody else in the ACC. I don't know why you want to leave the ACC conference if you're Miami. Because you own it right now. Noter Dame, people hate them, people love them. Nobody is neutral on the fighting Irish. I didn't think they played particularly well and still won the game by 30 over Wisconsin. Are they national championship contenders realistically this season? Yeah, because they were on two last year. They're one and no. They're on a way to win. And I think we are watching Marcus Freeman grow as a head coach every single year. And every year they've lost the game that they shouldn't have early in the season, whether it's Louisville, Northern Illinois, whatever it might be.

12:26This year they got it out. And I think that's important. I mean, Oregon fans like we did it too. I'm like, I know, I know. But Notre Dame, if you just looked at that score, you had no idea what happened to the first half. And first half was not good. It was ugly. It was like, oh, here we go. And at the same time, Ole Miss was fighting with Louisville too. So I think Notre Dame, with that secondary in particular, that defense, and if they get that ground game going, they're going to be tough to stop. Heather, Dennis, you're on the show. Heather, I was reading your article yesterday about the expansion of the playoff. Are we starting to get some real traction into potentially having 24 teams in this playoff? Yes. So what happened is the CFP officially opened the negotiating window with ESPN, which means they are going to find out how much money they can get for a 2014 playoff, which signals the greatest interest yet. But that does not mean this is going to happen next year, because the example I was given

13:30is you want to move from your house. You put your house for sale. And if you're not getting an offer that is suitable, then you're not going to move immediately. So they're testing the waters in a way. But if they get the money that they want, this thing is going to happen. But it's a lot of money that they're going to expect for this, because those powerful conference championship games are going to have to go away in a 2014 playoff. I mean, the SEC Championship game alone is between $80 to $100 million. The big 10 is about $50 million. And that's not including ticket sales, game day sponsorships, all the other revenue that those games drive, which is huge. So can you compensate for the loss of that and make money in a 2014 playoff? I don't know the answer to that. 2014's, oh my God. That's a lot of, a lot of, yeah. Right. But I mean, the cool thing about it though is you would have, you would have the schools

14:32I think Heather and the article, the first couple rounds of the playoff would be home stadiums on campus. Yeah. That's right. And you guys know just in a 12 team playoff, those first round home games are unlike anything else. It's just awesome. Yeah. No, that is cool. What's Alabama this year? I mean, they're not, they're not being discussed as like one of those teams anymore, but how good can they be? Well, I mean, TBD on those guys, they look pretty good. Keel and Russell and it's Keel and by the way, not Keelon. It's Keel and Russell, they're starting quarterback. He played well, but they've got to do that. We got to see more, right, against SEC competition, but I think it was a very encouraging start if you're an Alabama fan. I want to say I had them 10 in my pre-seater, my top 25 right now, but going into the season where they didn't know what their quarterback was. I think I had them like 15, 16, 17. So they're moving up, but as long as they get strong quarterback play and they can run

15:33the ball, that's the key thing. The one thing they could not do last year was consistency as a run the ball minus three rushing yards against Georgia and the SEC championship game. Like, come on. Heather, last one for me. So you had mentioned Oregon. I mean, just quickly just your thoughts on, because it feels like it's like at a certain point, it's like, okay, now we're never like it. Are they going to like emerge as a real team that can win a national championship here? Is it feel like this year's that for them or no? Yeah, it could be. It should be. Dan Laning is one of the most intense coaches that I've ever seen, but listen guys, I like USC. No one is talking about USC. I really like Jay and my, I love the running game. Their defense is better. So yes, but it's not going to be easy. I'm just going to be talking about the running stuff. Heather, I get emails all show long and I just got an email from a listener. Heather is the best. What a great addition to the show. Kudos to whoever added hurts the rotation.

You're like, wow, there's some really good get like, well, how does he Texas? He is a great game. I got it. I got to think though, like as they get into this, should we have 24 teams and. 24 teams. You know, how much money we can make. Like if you're ESPN and you have, you know, just with the contract that they signed, right? You got to go to ESPN first before anything was decided. Then if you do get those extra games now, I'm sure the way with all the different, you know, streaming with net, all these different, you could probably sell those games to different networks for tons of money. I would think I mean, there's a lot of money in live sports television now. Huge. And you talk about net, the game tonight, I forgot is on Netflix. Netflix. Yeah. 23:48garments or we can make it uncomfortable. I'm not going to tell you because when you know the Cowboys, yeah, or every other team we play knows. And that's not the competitive interest of our football teams. That makes sense. So I think you can respect that. Yeah. I respect it. I love it. It's a great answer. Hey, dummies. Does that make sense? Yeah. Hey, get it. Where are you going to go? A lot of, you know, full back and rotate the running back. So you plan to run the ball over 35 times. Not not telling you anything. Yeah, right. Because then if you know, they know. And I don't want them to know. Yeah. Who's playing? What are you running? Right. I don't know. I don't know. Do you know the last time I had a coach, I was like, oh, this is an act. This is a coach. This is like a CEO. This is a leader of men. It's Kaufflin. You know, long ago that is. I understand that. But it's why it's why I am more than slightly jealous of your current situation. Because we're sitting here talking about this team. You saying eight wins, Shreger saying wild card team. I did the opinions all over the place, but I am yet to be an opinion of this season is

24:51going to be a disappointment. Like you haven't heard that. No. And this is a team that won four games last year. Right. That you were back that had one two and you're begging them to stop. I mean, because you want to get the first overall pick. It just and he hasn't yet played a game yet. It's the beauty of hiring somebody that has the kind of equity built up and has the track record that that Harbor has built up. And it's hope too, right? Because as sports fans, that's what we want. We want hope. We're desperate for hope. What was the old Brooklyn Dodgers wait till next year? Next year, that'll be our year. I mean, you could be four and 13 year after year after year. If you get like one big offseason acquisition, you know what I think this could be it. I think this could be it. It's all about why people of draft picks. That's a hundred six years old. Ultimate hope. Right. Why people love the backup? Why people love draft picks? Because it's the hope that it could be better. We've already seen this. We don't like it. Hopefully this next thing is better. But with Harbor, you have 18 years.

25:53You have a super bowl win. Now he's not perfect. Of course, he's not perfect. Like there's a reason why he's not in Baltimore anymore. Right. He's not a Baltimore. And now the team that didn't make the playoffs last year with him and I know as a miskick is, you know, everyone's picked to potentially be in the Super Bowl. It doesn't kind of sound like from the owner, Bishaddi, saying, you know, what was the question? It was like, you know, did that cost him his job or or he's like, well, for a week. Like it felt like even it was time. It was time. It felt like it was time. It felt like it was time and it felt like I don't know if it was. I don't know if it was necessarily like the relationship between him and Lamar or more the relationship between Lamar and Todd Munkin and Harbaugh's unwillingness to make a change that created the, you know, the tension between him and Lamar. But I mean, if you have Lamar Jackson, who's on the field doing it and you've had a guy there for 18 years, you're probably going to side with the quarterback.

26:58Always going to side with the player. Right. Or almost always going to side with it. Right. But it hasn't like it's a surprise. I don't know if surprising is the right word. It's a little bit surprising though that you go from him and the success he's had with this team. Now, not the ultimate success. I understand that. And you can criticize that to a rookie head coach that you've never seen do it before. And still have the kind of expectations and odds that Baltimore still has. Well, because they're so immensely talented. Right? That's great. Yeah. Which is something that we've talked about as kind of a negative that you could bring up if you went to with Harbaugh. If listen, are there negatives not the perfect coach they've blown leads, right? Maybe hasn't reached expectations. But I mean, is he is he far and away better than what you've had for quite some time? Yeah, the players have to I don't care what you do as a head coach. You could scheme up the best play. You could scheme up a guy wide open the play last night where dogs was wide open for a first down.

27:59I think it was it was whatever it was. It was first or second and fourth, whatever it ended up being. That's an easy first down. He's got to catch it. It wasn't the play call. No. It was the execution. So a lead if Mark Andrews makes that catch like if certain things happen, but they didn't. They didn't happen. And you had a team with a quarterback that won multiple MVP's that never got to a Super Bowl. For you win a Super Bowl, never got to a Super Bowl. Never got to a Super Bowl. And we'll see if that if that changes. Now, now we've got some news for you, my friend. I like news steamroll right over my face. Yeah, you're right. I don't know if you're going to have anything. Yeah, whatever was the good news. You of all people can I guess I guess the good news? Okay. It's it's Niners related. Kittle and Bosa off the injury report. Yeah, not not even designated on the injury report, RJ. That's not this makes me happy. He's taken the Niners not even. I don't know why we're well, why are we pretending he's taking the Niners to the moon or

29:00no one's going to have. I know exactly what's happening. Oh, you're going to take the Rams. Yeah, maybe. No, please. Listen, the Rams are going to win everything. Go on to feed it. It's what I hear. Rams have a tough schedule. Rams aren't even the best team in the division. Wow. What? Whoa. The Rams aren't the best team in the division. I know. No, I'm not going with where you think I'm going. We watched the best. Yeah, we're going to say Seattle. Yes. Seattle didn't look good last night. They're the best team. They're the best team. Yeah. Wow. Is that hard for you to say? Yeah. Until proven otherwise. I think it's easier for him to say that. There would be to admit that the Rams are the best team in the division. No, he hates Seattle. Well, now here's the thing though. San Darrell is going to miss like, you know, six, seven, eight weeks. That will drastically affect where we'll go with this. That defense. The Giants don't have Seattle now. Yeah. That defense. So I mean, all I heard was like Drake May cover six after who was a, who was a, Sean McDermott played it and then the Patriots played it in the Super Bowl. And Erickson and Sioux's playing the Super Bowl and Drake May can't solve it.

30:01And he didn't have the answer yesterday. Mm-hmm. That Seattle defense is special. Now, I've already been at full health last night. I have some concerns about the offense because their new offensive coordinator was coached on the nine or staff. Flurry. And I never heard really the buzz about him being like the next great play caller. But we know. I was hoping there's some things out. And also how great do you have to be as a play caller when you have that defense? Yeah. Well, the defense is still special. So we also had, I mean, you'll could be extra head coach now for a reason. So by the way, and this is not just me saying this because I'm doing reads, they're actually like, they're going to help me with my back is when I got a chance to sit down with all the doctors and you just go back and forth about all the different things. Right. The more impressive thing for me was outside of the 48 hours was when I, in the part of the read where it's like, no, the actual neurosurgeon will consult with you and be the one doing the surgery. Yep. Like, they happen when Cassie was pregnant. Like we went in and the anesthesiologist came in and there was a person standing next to

41:15Get back into the NFL. And this talk about playoffs. I don't get it. We had Shreger on yesterday. He thinks they could be a playoff team. Adam Schefter's been saying it. Yeah, I guess if things break well, if you know, Sam Darnold's injury is really bad and Seattle's going to fall out of it, you know, there's four new teams, I guess every year that weren't the playoffs last year that made it this year. But I think Dallas is going to be one of those teams that's going to make it that didn't last year. You know, there's Detroit. Detroit can definitely be that kind of a team. But to go to 10 wins, I think it's going to take 10. I just have too much respect for the power in the NFC to think that nine wins is going to be enough. And I just can't see going from three to seven wins. What people are doing is they're taking every one of those tough losses last year and making them wins because the coaching is better. But you know, in sports that doesn't work that way. You know, there's a lot of things that have to go into improving by that much. If they do it great, I'd be happy. I'd be excited. But I just want to play fun football, play meaningful games in December.

42:20I'm not going to go in with an expectation of postseason. I can't do that. Yeah, I was surprised to when I heard Shreger say that on your show yesterday. Well, you impressed it all that I knew that it was 21 years. That's all that's a good kind of avid listener. I am to D.H.R. in the afternoons. I know you're an avid listener and we look forward to your texts that rip into Peter. Yeah. I say we're working at maybe like a 50% tile of being able to air them. He's fighting through the offensive lineman and the tight end to get to the quarterback. Me, I got this, you know, pesky little scat back throws a glancing blow and I'm down. And I don't get there. That's a shame. But when I do get there, the quarterback goes down. Yeah. Okay. Is that all right? Is that a dumb? Did all that make the air? Are you? You're on the morning. Of course. That's me. Oh, wide parameter of things that we discuss here on the show. Yeah. Yes. I'll tell you what I don't like. I don't, I think this running back room, I'm led by Cam Scataboo's a little scary.

44:26Really? But I, like I think I don't think it's great by any stretch, but I think it's, it's fine. Well, fine is not what is going to be working for a giant team that I think is going to be running the ball more times than most NFL teams. I mean, they don't have an exceptionally deep wide receiver room, right? Me with Barrios still out. You're looking at four guys. One of them is the old man in the sea in OBJ and you've got a kid in fields who I think has really had a tremendous camp, but you still a bit of an unknown, a new player, Mooney. And then you've got neighbors who may not be 100% the start of the season. I, I, I threw this out earlier this week. I want to see if you guys agree. I think if I had to bet, I'd say likely has the most receptions on the team. Oh, I think that's a very fair wager. I think he, A, I think he's really good. He's been, you know, kind of kept under wraps and in Baltimore with, with Mark Andrews. And I think he's going to be a big time security blanket. I, I think he, I think 75 catches is very realistic for likely.

45:29So this is it, you know, this is a team that's going to look a lot like again in theory, the giant Super Bowl teams, you know, run the ball, utilize the tight end and then use the wide receiver when necessary. The difference with this team and the Eli teams, you'll get a lot more production with the legs of Dart than you're able to get with Manning. But that's what this team is going to be. They'll be kicking it old school and the running back room is going to have to be better than fine if this team is going to win North to seven games. So that's what's a little scary to me. I think scattered who's fine. You're right. But fine to me can be scary considering how they're going to want to go producing points on this team. Well, the only thing I'd say to that is last year, the running back room was, was hardly great. And I think they were what fifth in the NFL in rushing. So I don't know. And that was what scattered who getting hurt. Right. The scattered who got hurt and was a lot of a tie room trace, he was now like seemingly the third back on this team. The giants have real issues. I think stopping the run as a question. Yeah. I think the second there is a question. I think, oh, better. You feel better about it though the way their camp was. No. I feel so much better about things. And not only do I feel better about things, I think even if they were to have a season

46:32where it's like, all right, they win six or seven, I still feel firmly that they're heading in the right direction. Well, but you're talking about doubling your win total. You know, and I asked, I'm going to ask Rick this. I asked Alan. I was a little surprised by his answer quite frankly. How would you feel about the jets of John Harbour? Was there a head coach? I have a completely different outlook. Right. I was, I was, I was like, yeah, maybe he's worth one more win. I'm like, are you kidding me? That's crazy. If you, if, if, if Rick you answer, but if you had John Harbour over Aaron Glenn, you could, you could realistically feel like they can make the playoffs. Yeah, I mean, listen, if you had, I mean, if you had the coach, now you answer that one giant question. I think what makes the jet situation so weird is you don't, Geno's going to be 36. So he's not your quarterback. And all science point being the good head coach after what you saw last season. Right. And now you add somebody you know who's a good head coach. Yeah, who's naturally going to, they raise your floor and make you functional. But I just don't know how deep the giants are. Talent wise, I think there's talent there, but is there enough depth?

47:33And in your division, twice Philadelphia, two times Dallas, Washington, you know, getting their quarterback back is going to be tough. Uh, listen, I just respect the NFC, I respect the schedule. I just want to get back to not being embarrassed by this team. And John Harbour instantly does that. And then we'll see, but they got to be two and two guys going into that Washington game, have to at least be two and two. I'll accept Oh and two because at the tough start, then when you know, you'll be Tennessee, B. Arizona, and if you could be washing to be three and two. And then it's New Orleans. Yeah. And then you're on your way. If they're three and one going into the Washington game, that would be, oh, forget it. That would be crazy. That would be anniversary time. Thank you. 48:38Now he's going to have to focus on defense. So is that going to take him away from the objective and that being a really good head coach? So with the unknown and head coach with the complete unknown at quarterback, what could you expect? I mean, it's a quarterback league. It's a head coach league and those are two gargantuan question marks. They've got talent. They've got weapons on the offensive side of the ball. I think defense, they could be fun to watch. But if Gino Smith is going to be what he was in Vegas and Aaron Glenn is not a good quarterback. Guys, how, how are they going to be any different than they were last year? How they won't, they won't. I mean, if Gino Smith is the same version that he was last year and you can blame, you can blame Vegas all you want and chip Kelly and everything else. I mean, if you get that version to him, they're not going to be very good. My, my only concern, and I think you were listening to the show because you guys talked about this is I think everyone just assumes that Aaron Glenn seat is one of the hottest seats in the NFL. But then you go, Gino Smith is going to be 36 and now Kade Club next is going to be the backup. Me personally, this is not an opinion. If I'm Aaron Glenn and I feel like my job is on the line and I have to win football games,

49:40there is no way I go into the season with that as my quarter. No way. No way. And I brought it up and I gave you guys credit because I thought it was a really fun conversation. Everybody believes he's on the hot seat. I'm kind of with you. And one of the reasons why is, is financial. You know, Wake Martin Dale is not the defensive coordinator of the jets because let's be honest. What he didn't want to pay him, right? And the reason why Glenn's doing it is because he gave big time money to Glenn. Reports are he's got another three years after this left on his contract. So you telling me that he is going to fire Glenn paid a big money offer to Tom Linner whoever still having to pay Glenn all the money that he sunk at the facility after getting the F. I don't think he has an appetite to just have Aaron Glenn sit there and do nothing for three years and get paid. Maybe a revolt. Can you imagine what the fan base would do if the jets go four and thirteen. The guy soils himself again and they bring him back for another season. Yeah, but don't you see the quarter back? Yeah, but they'll sell on the fact that, oh, well, Gino Smith was bad and in club nick and it a lot of fall on Mugi.

50:42I'm telling you, if Gino is bad, I'm a Mugi fan. But how would it look if Gino is bad and he's got Justin fields on his resume. He'd have Gino Smith on his resume. He'd have not getting a veteran to back up Gino Smith on his, that's bad. That's bad job. So and let's face it, Douglas lost his job. Why? Because he picks that. Right. So not being able to figure out the quarterback despite all the talent the jets have and I think he's had good drafts. He's made good trades. I thought that trade with Indianapolis was a good one. If he can't figure out the quarterback, he's going to be out of a job too, guys. It's the same old same old with this jet state Rick. I feel bad for you, man. It's been 15 seasons, Donnie. But you you could have made a better choice when you came here. It's kind of on you. You know what? He fell in love with Chad Pannock and they became friendly and he got swayed into the jets. I mean, I understand it. I get it. But I inherited the giants from my dad, right. So to Dave, so to a lot of fans and jet fans too, but you have your only yourself to

51:43play. I know. Well, at least I got to make my own choice and now I got to just now I got to live with it. It was it was like milk. It was a bad choice. It was terrible. Terrible choice. Yeah. I think for you last year going into the coach search, I think there are still people including John Harboh, that think it's a big deal to be the head coach of the giants. Yes. I don't think people around the NFL feel the same way about the jets. Well, let me say that I'm not trying to be obnoxious to jerk. There's times I am, I'm not now. Do you think being the jets head coach is a big deal? As far as being a head coach in the NFL is concerned? No, I don't, but I also recognize there's only 32 jobs. Sure. So to get one, which ends up being why we get who we get, I think. It's like, okay, are there other teams that I'd like to coach? Yes, but those aren't options. This is the option. So I'll take it, which is why we have, you know, first time coaches all the time. Correct. Part of my biggest hold up is, and this is me being 100% truthful is I think the way to get the John Harboh,

54:47or the Mike Tomlin that Don mentioned, is probably to have the bad season and have the first overall pay. I agree. I was just gonna say that actually. I mean, like that's, if there's a, if a Mike Tomlin, who are the like, who are the, Oh, Mike coaches. Oh, Mike, Oh, Shawn McDonnell, Mike Tomlin, McDonnell, like one of those kind of guys, right? And maybe, you know, I don't want to see what happens in Minnesota Koc. Maybe Mark is Freeman, right? There's always a conjecture. He wants to take it. Yeah, but it doesn't even forget the name. Just like the, like the, the, the, the commercial coaches, right? Yeah. Whoever it is, if, if the Jets alone is not an attractive piece, and it may not be for a lot of guys, if I can give you archmaning, is that an attractive piece? If I can give you Dante Mortley, something, if I can, if I can back up the Brinkstruck and pay you a ton of money and give you the first overall pick in a quarterback rich draft, with some legitimate talent on the team, is that enough to afford the big head coach? And I think we're gonna have like a hundred million dollars in free agency. We're gonna have to pay you a ton of money. So yeah, I mean, I don't know,

55:47that's, that feels like the only way. Yes. To get what you're looking for, to really change the thing around. Because as much as you want to pretend, like, oh, you know, six or seven wins, all of a sudden now you're, you know, you're not the laughing stock and you'll feel good in the culture. No, that doesn't really, like, solve your biggest problem. So I was listening to, to the carlant show yesterday on the way home, and, and Maggie Gray was on with him. And her take is this, just be awful. You've been, you've been almost a laughing stock of football for the better part of 15 years. In the grand scheme of things, what's one more year? In the, in the micro, it's awful. Every week you lose, you're terrible. If you went three and 14, and you moved on from a coach and most people don't even think is very good, then you wound up with the pick of the litter in a rich quarterback draft. Now you can make some headway. Yeah, it feels like that's the way that you would actually change the dysfunction and the culture. Everything. It's not the extra couple wins. Like, I mean, Washington didn't turn into, like a destination where guys wanted to go play

56:47until they drafted Jaden Danes and everyone saw how good he was. Right. I think I told you, I've heard real negative things about Washington this year. Yeah, I have to. I think the pushback from people that don't wanna go through another year of, of losing and all those different things is, I don't think those people necessarily trust that even if we had that pick, we'd get it right. But at some point, you have to, don't you? Well, cause they're like, but they'll bring up, well, Trevor Lawrence is like, yeah, I would sign up for Trevor Lawrence right now. Right. It's not his fault they hired Urban Meyer. Trevor Lawrence has been to the postseason. Trevor Lawrence is a good quarterback. What they win last year, 14 games? No. Who? Jacksonville. 14?
