Just one match, one home match, cobalt decides he's going to put on the face paint.
Do the ultimate war.
Like I've got the mask, I can give him a mask and just have him bring all the guys out.
It's like also a warrior face mask.
Back what do you think?
Yeah, that'd be great.
Right.
And they just, they come in and they, they don't walk out, cobalt's got them walking out
of the locker room.
No, no.
Sprint.
Sprint out of the tunnel.
Go full lap around tennis court.
Then they grab the net, facing their opponents and they just shake the net like this blocks
to us.
You can get their ultimate warrior plus your tennis on.
If, if Bob comes out with the warrior face paint for the three point contest and wins
it, then we'll consider that is everything, right?
That is everything coach, they're, they're in this day and age between one and done and
the long run.
Nebraska basketball has found success in players who will come, stay, develop, change the program
that way.
Elevate the program that way.
But in some cases, adding the right player to it elevates the program.
Neither is wrong.
Neither is absolutely right.
It's just a matter of preference and execution.
Let's say you, what do you think about the two?
What's, especially in tennis, what do you think is the, the, the, the, the easier way
or the more effective way?
Well, in tennis, you just, you know, it's an individual game and it's, you're playing
against one guy and you got to be better than the guy in front of you.
So the, you know, what we're seeing a lot right now as people just say, like, we got
to recruit really good players and we can do that now.
It's pretty easy.
There's a few schools that have really turned it around really quickly.
You know, it used to not be very easy to, um, to do that.
You know, everyone used to have four to half scholarships and you couldn't make a mistake
on a guy because, you know, it was, people didn't transfer as much and now you have, you
know, teams and programs with up to nine scholarships for nine guys or 10 guys and you, you can
get away with making a few mistakes and if someone's not the right bit, they can transfer
and you can bring in another guy you got in an IO and revshare and all these different
variables now.
So there's a lot of different ways to skin the cat today and I think you have to figure
out first what, you know, how you want your program to look, um, you know, what, you
know, what, what does it, what does it look like?
How do you want it to be?
Is it, what's it based around?
And then you got to find the right fit, you know, each year, I think you got to have
a really good pulse on the team and the locker room and the guys and, um, you know, there's
always a trition, whether it's after I transition from the military, I joined the CIA.
Now I conduct strategic operations and intelligence activities globally as a directorate of operations
officer.
Keep serving our nation.

They asked me to leave, I guess they don't respect winning.

Graduation or transferring or whatever it is these days, and you have to have a good feel
for what you're going to have next year, and if there's something that you need, you
have to be very careful and selective in the portal and you've got to be able to land
the guy, too, if there's someone there in the land, so it's not easy, but I think you
got to have a combination of both.
I think it's important to have guys that really care about the program that have been in
the program.
I think you have that with like a guy like Sam Hoiberg that he was a walk on, and he's
earned everything he's got here.
And I think that's why all he really cares about is winning and playing for the team, and
I think that's a huge reason why the team's doing well in basketball.
So in tennis, we look for that stuff, too, because I think in a couple years, you can
have a guy like that really be a spearhead for the team, and then I think your program
just continues to evolve, and you're able to recruit different players and address your
needs easier.
You're coming to the table with recruits with different bargaining chips, and it's a whole
evolution, honestly.
So you got to just, you got to really know what you have, and what you have to project
your team pretty well for the next year, and you have to understand, okay, am I trying
to do this in one year?
Am I trying to do this in five years, depends on the demands of the job, and what the expectations
are, and at least in your head, and from the administration.
But I know one thing, and we're all trying to win here.
Mr. Danins made it clear that we're here to win, and so for me, that's everything that
I would ever want and ask for is in administration that's asking for that stuff, that's why we
all get into this business, and that's why we're all here competing as coaches and players,
but I guess this is a long answer for a short question, but I guess you're trying to find
the best fit for your program, and your guys, and what you really need, and then build.
Let's close the hour, let folks know what's next for the Huskers in the test room.
Yeah, Bob and I spoke about it briefly at the beginning, but we got a huge weekend.
This weekend, Friday night at six, at the Dylan Tennis Center, we're hosting number nine,
the Fighting Align Eye, very, very good team, very well coached, and then quick turnaround
on Sunday, we get, I think, a top 45 team in Northwestern, also a very well coached
team.
Great.
They've improved a lot from last year as well.
Two unbelievable matches at the Dylan Tennis Center Sunday, I'll be Sunday at noon.
Friday night come out, the concessions will be open, grab a cold drink, come cheer
loud for the Huskers Sunday, you'll have, you know, there'll be giveaways for both match,
but there'll be a giveaway on Sunday plus free candy and snacks at the concession, they'll
be laying out for the first come first serve fans and, and yeah, we're going to need you
all this week.
So come out and be loud.
Coach, appreciate you each week, well, good stuff.
Thanks, DP, thanks, Bob.

I'm the host of Finding Mr. Hyte, a dating and relationship podcast that I've been doing
for four years now, sharing my positive and practical approach to dating that's built
on my own life experience.
And I wanted to share another experience that I've had, my secret behind monetizing
my show.
It's called Red Circle.
And I was just telling my colleague about how much I love their platform with Red Circle,
not only am I getting a seamless hosting experience, but I also love the support I receive in
AdSales.
It's not just typical AdSales either, it's targeted opportunities based on my show and
my life.
And the platform is super simple, you just set your preferences and Red Circle matches
you with sponsors that align with your show.
You can vet every opportunity and their platform gives you great analytics.
More recently too, my Red Circle team has brought me opportunities outside of my podcast
on social media.
To really augment the podcast partnerships, bring them full circle, I just can't recommend
them enough.
