Hi everyone, this is Hope. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm so grateful you pressed play today. Whether you're taking a walk, driving somewhere, or just sitting in the quiet, this moment is yours. Maybe you've been struggling to find balance lately. Maybe your mind feels crowded, your energy scattered, or your emotions heavier than you expected. If that's where you are, please hear this. You are not alone and you're not broken. You're simply human. Learning how to care for your mind in a noisy world. Let's take a second to center ourselves here together. Inhale, exhale. Okay, let's begin when it comes to mental health. Our thoughts are powerful. They shape how we see ourselves, how we interpret our circumstances, and even how our bodies respond to stress. But so often we underestimate how much influence our inner dialogue has on our daily well-being. Research from Carnegie Mellon University found that positive self-talk and affirmations can actually buffer the effects of stress. When people practiced affirmations before

a stressful task, their problem-solving abilities improved significantly. Another study in personality and social psychology bulletin revealed that daily positive statements can decrease rumination and improve overall emotional regulation. Why does this matter? Because so much of what we experience mentally begins with what we tell ourselves. Thoughts like, I can't handle this or I'm failing can send our nervous system into defense mode. But when we practice affirmations like, I am learning to handle challenges with calm and confidence. The body relaxes, the mind opens, and we start to act from a place of steadiness instead of fear. I want to be clear, affirmations aren't magic words that erase anxiety or depression. They are gentle tools. Anchors you return to when your mind drifts toward the negative. Over time, these small, intentional repetitions begin to reshape your thought patterns, a process known as neuroplasticity. The brain's ability to reorganize

itself based on experience and focus. As neuroscientist Dr. Tara Swart writes, every thought releases chemicals in your brain. Repeated thoughts, especially affirming ones, create new neural pathways that become your default responses. That's the power of consistency. You're training your mind to believe in your own resilience. So let's practice together. If you can, place a hand over your heart and let these words move through you. Affirmation one, I give myself permission to slow down and find peace within. Affirmation two, my thoughts are becoming kinder and more supportive each day. Affirmation three, I am building a healthy mind that serves my highest good. Take another breath. Let those words sink in, not as a demand, but as a choice, a choice to nurture your mind with compassion. Remember, improving mental health doesn't happen all at once. It happens in moments

when you choose gentleness over judgment, when you pause before reacting, when you speak truth over fear. The goal isn't perfection, it's progress. Each affirmation is a small, active care that builds your inner strength over time. If you find yourself struggling this week, come back to one affirmation. Repeat it when you wake up, whisper it before bed or write it on a note where you'll see it often. Your brain will listen, your spirit will follow. And if this moment gave you even a bit of calm, pass it on, share it with someone who might need to hear, you're doing better than you think, because healing spreads through reminders like that. Before we close, a quick word from our partner who helps make this practice even easier, if you're ready to bring affirmations into your daily life, check out self-paws that's S-E-L-F-P-A-U-S-E.
