How hard could it be? My wife wants one of those resort showers. You won't believe what
they want to charge just for tile. And you're doing it all by yourself? It can't be that hard.
Did you mean to install that waterfall shower in your living room? Technically it's an open
concept. Yep, you might want to rethink that. DIY crafts are great. DIY made your renovations.
Not so much. Instead, borrow a smart with S&T bank. With great rates on loans and lines of credit,
you can actually upgrade your home without turning it into a water park.
I think we should call a plumber. And I'm calling my bank S&T bank. Stop by a branch,

I think I'm pretty good shape so far. This is pretty close to like I would trade the
Steelers first five picks for these first five guys. Yeah, it's pretty like okay. It's
when everything sort of fell into place a little better and expected. Pretty good, pretty good.
So let's continue here. I don't know if we're going to go through all seven rounds,
but let's at least do another 15 minutes or so here into the fourth round. And I'm not going
to read every single name now. I do think we're going to have to draft a defensive back or two
soon and maybe take two chips at that. I agree, but what if I were to tell you that it picked
121 were back on the clock 22 picks since our last and Garrett Nussmeyer still on the board.
Oh, I think you got to be pretty interested at this point. No, every, every quarterback other than
the big two. So no quarterback goes in the third round. Okay. So I'm certainly interested.
I'd be interested in Nuss. I'd be interested in, hmm, and Emmett Johnson,
the running back at an Nebraska. I know that's a little bit of a number two back and I get that.
VJ pain is still there as well. So yeah, I mean, you could have, you could have a,
a quarterback that some people have is the number two quarterback. You could have a running back
that some people have is the number two running back. Oscar Delpein, Michael Trigg, both still on
the board. Those would be nice luxury picks. There's a chance we're going to get two of these names,
though. There is. You know, we do have another one coming up or you or you go safety in VJ pain.
Do you have to take the defensive back? Yeah. Just as like that's the biggest immediate need.
Yeah. I just don't know when we we've pushed it back. We pushed it back. I think you got to do
that. Let's do it. Yeah. I mean, he, it's really him and Lewis Moore, the only safety's life on board.
I bet it's getting pretty picked through and we already got our Indian and national champions.
So we don't need Lewis Moore. Let's, let's take pains the upside guy. Lewis Moore is the plug in
place. Yes. Seventh year senior guy. You know, yes. Yeah. Pain. Let's do it. Cool last name to VJ
pain. The safety out of Kansas state is going to be our pick at one twenty one. Let's see if
there's any notable. So let's see. Nusk goes off the board. Emmett Johnson goes off the board.
Aiden Fisher goes off the board. Oscar Delp goes off the board. The same Titans would be of interest.
Let's see who is still available here. Michael Trigg still on the board. If you want to talk
tight ends, Joe Royer is well still on the board. Harold Perkins Jr. still on the board, but we took
a linebacker. Man, I this I would definitely consider a second wide receiver here. If Nusk was still
on the board, I would consider him. Yeah. I think we can probably wait on quarterback. And Emmett,
you know, if if Emmett Johnson was still on the board, I would definitely be interested in him.
Let's see what wide receivers were looking at Kevin Coleman Jr. Adam Azou Kendrick Law at a
Kentucky Cyrus Allen at a Cincinnati Malik Benson at Oregon Josh Cameron at a Baylor Jeff
Caldwell at a Cincinnati. The local guy Mount Lebo your fellow Alma Mater shareer Eli Eli
Heinrich out of Navy. He got invited to the draft by the NFL. I don't know if you saw that.
I did. Navy Lebo dude running backs slash slot receiver all around weapon special team are
great human being service guy, all those things. Um, who was the name I was thinking?
Tray or we talk about the Kentucky wide receiver is somebody I should definitely know about
my whole family's at that university as we speak right now. Literally all right there right now
without you. And he was here for a visit. And I still have not done a lot of homework on him.
It's just interesting that he's been here for a visit and I know very little about
five eleven two hundred and five pounds. Yeah. He does have a nine point six razz score which is
which is a very good pretty pretty good. Um, let's see here if I can get some numbers for you
four four five forty are dash forty two vertical uh ten eight broad jump. Those are all tremendous
numbers. Those are very I think I know which is the best razz you can have. So I mean a nine
eight grade historical comp. Starling shepherd Ricky pier saw. That's not a three there. I'll take
either one of those slot ish here in the fourth right. You want to go you want to go back. I mean
none of the other names are really doing it for me as much as I do think Michael trig could hit big.
I think we can still wait another pick or two on quarterback if we want to go that route. I think
I'd go to the receiver route. I think so too. Yeah. Let's do it. Let's take Kendrick law. I promise
to do work on him on the weekend. I that's somebody I should know more about but he projects to me as a
my hunch just what you read there in the little I had heard before this is very athletic project
mostly slot, not entirely slot. Maybe return guy. Um, but I'm bet there's some listeners. I know more
about them than I do. So in the fourth round we nab VJ pain safety out of Kansas state and we nab
Kendrick law wide receiver. Both are big athletes for their position. I mean very athletic.
Into the four a fifth round part of me trig goes off the board to the Texans to start the
fifth round. Let's see any other notables Carson Beck goes to the browns because that's just what
they need his another one is another mid tier quarterback. They collect them like I used to collect
Pokemon cards. I was a kid. Uh, D'Angelo pounds goes off the board. Man, if he makes it to round
five, I'd be surprised. I know he's undersized. But um, let's see any other notables here.
So a couple guys I'll be looking at Eli Mount Lebo Eli goes to Buffalo at pick 159.
I'd be looking for a true running back. Okay. Uh, Caleb Black out of Indiana. I like Caleb Black a
lot. Roman Hembee out of Indiana, Robert Henry Jr. out of UTSA University of Texas, San Antonio.
Uh, let's see. Jamari Taylor from Virginia. Adam Randall from Clemson. Black could room with
Cooper too. That's always good. No, we're national title guys. It is always good. Your boy Desmond
Reed is still there. That's still early for a fluke. You know, Black is really good in protection,
tested a lot better than I thought he would. He's definitely of interest. I would be curious
of the tight end situation because I know it's just deep and I bet maybe the Notre Dame dudes around
or he's not, but your boy Marlon Klein is still there out of Michigan. That's certainly appealing
is the other Ohio State guy. I meant to tell you, yes, I was I was reading more digging more into
Nate Trises. Yeah. He had Marlon Klein is like top 70 on his big. Oh, so people love him. Yeah.
I mean, he's got a lot of ability, like a big heavy baseball background. I would love to see him
at this neighborhood. Sorry. What were you about to ask us if other Ohio State dude with the
longer name, he's more of the blocking tight end. He was in for a visit too. So I think he's
would fit the bill. Um, but I think I'd prefer Klein. So you don't even really need to look him up.
I don't think I don't think the Ohio State guy has been nabbed. I believe. So Klein is still there.
If we want to go tight end, uh, Caleb Black, if we want to go running back, I like both those in terms
of best available. Actually, Caleb Black is right towards the top with Zane Durant from Penn state.
I guess we could double up on the defensive line, but yeah, we doubled up on the offensive line.
Durant's kind of an undersized doesn't really fit type. I like the idea of taking black or
a client here. That would be my vote. And that's a coin flip wherever one you like better.
I think I want to go, I think I want to go black just because I,
I really can hit that position and really have that spot. I really want somebody to dogs one
bone and Caleb Johnson to push him. So let's go Caleb Black. He's tenacious. I mean, I think he
is going to be a coach's favorite and may end up being like a special team or type guy in the pros.
Yes. So that's our fifth round pick. We don't pick again for a long time till the very last pick
of the six round. And this probably won't surprise you much, Matt, but by then the run on quarterbacks
has happened. Oh, so, so they're, they're, they're pretty much all gone except for Sawyer Robinson and
Kate club Nick. Those are the only, the only ones left. Baron Morton out of Texas tech who you
were asking me about the other week. Yeah, some people like them, but I, I just, I don't know. I think
he was a fine point. I mean, yeah, I just don't see any traits. And at least when we talk
tail and green and we talk Colpate and and guys like that, there's traits that you can hang
your hat on. Those are the guys. I think they'll be truly interesting. Yes, where I think, um,
and I think it's like, I think Morton was just kind of a solid college football quarterback.
Right. You may just throw that pick away if you're picking them now. Like you're going to trade
Rudolph or cut Rudolph to keep him, you know, right. Um, and, uh, the Michigan tight end is gone as
well. So is there any tight ends of note? We did not show Michael Galenberg out of Wyoming.
Matthew Hibner out of SMU will. Has Merrick from Ohio State. That's the guy that's talking about.
Oh, okay. Okay. So he is still there. The tight ends don't catch any balls there. And he's the number
two tight end, but he does have ability tested pretty well. And he's a good blocker. We still have
three more picks to go and get. I would take him right now. Not this like the Holy cow. He's
got no, I didn't get through the whole franchise. No, happy. He's a solid tight end three that you
get at the very end of the six rounds. Right. And you got a roster spot for a tight pick. Right.
And we're back on the board here just eight picks later, uh, with our first of three seventh round
picks to close this thing down. Where do we go here, Matt? Do we add another wide receiver or
second piece with, with some special teams capability? I mean, it's a hard thing to do when you're
looking at the computer screen. We do kind of, I think, still need to take a quarterback at some
point here. I guess, I mean, I wouldn't mind just a camp arm as opposed to fighting the world on
undrafted guys. You've three seventh round picks. It's one of those per. Sure. Um, I definitely
would take one of these would be a defensive back that could try to make the theme on special teams
like Kent was last year. You know what I mean? What about someone like Demoni Jackson out of Alabama,
the corner? Time. What about man? There are not a lot of defensive backs left. A lot of wide
receivers left, but not a lot of defensive backs. Bishop Fitzgerald at a USC, the Sean Singleton out
in Nebraska Lorenzo. Oh, what about Lorenzo styles, Jr.? What about Sonny's brother? Yeah, he'd be
the type that I would want to take here. Yeah, it's just like freak. And I think could really excel
on special teams. Let's do it. Yeah, he might be your gunner right off the bat. Tell everybody,
we got, we got styles from Ohio's right in the seventh round of the draft. Don't worry about it.
Back on the clock here again, quickly, Matt. This might be where Kade Klubnik or a Sawyer Robinson,
I'd be fine with any kind of camp arm like that. I think Klubnik would be the one that would be
more effective immediately. I think Robertson's the one that if you would like to have any hope
of one of these guys growing into a long term backup, I think he's got way more upside. Yeah,
Klubnik's safer and smarter and more traditional and all those things. Sure. And he was pedigree
and we'll talk about him a year ago, which either is fine, either is fine. But you know what,
though, Kade Klubnik, just six foot two, like we've talked about where Sawyer Robinson's pushing
six five. I think I'm going to take the big, take the ASE North guy. Let's do it. Let's do it.
And that will make our, that'll make our friend. And of course, I'm drawing a blank right now,
who sent us the, the mugs at the end of the year. Yeah. Our, our, our, our friend Yenser gear,
whose, uh, whose son went to Baylor, and Sawyer Robinson, that'll make our buddy Yenser gear
very happy. So last pick, we made it through all seven rounds here, Matt. Yeah, one of
your best names available. I guess I might not know Harrison Wallace, wide receiver from old
miss, uh, Demoni Jackson, the corner from Alabama, Vinnie Anthony, wide receiver from Wisconsin,
uh, Tyron Montgomery, wide receiver from John Carroll and Cleveland, uh, Lewis Bond, wide
receiver from Boston College, Reggie Virgil, wide receiver from Texas Tech, Zevon Thomas,
wide receiver from LSU. What are the receivers? A lot of wide receivers here. Maybe I'd
nab another one, especially if I knew more about these guys. Do you want to go Desmond Reed here?
Yeah. Somebody that you know could excel on special teams. He's still there. Yeah. I love
these are seven around pick on him. Okay. I think that's fair. We know he's good at teams.
We at least know that about him. Mm hmm. Let's go ahead and lock that in here for our final
pick of the draft. So we make all 12 picks. We go Omar Cooper, junior wide receiver from Indiana at
21, Keelan Rutledge, guard from Georgia Tech at 53, Anthony Hill, junior linebacker from Texas
at 76, Dominique Orange, big citrus, the defensive lineman from Iowa State 85, Markelle Bell,
a third round tackle with some real upside potential long term out of Miami,
121 VJ pain, the safety from Kansas State, then Kendrick Law, wide receiver from Kentucky at 135,
Keelan Black. So just like last year, we get two big 10 national champions running back from
Indiana and then towards the back half of this thing in the six round will Kismaric,
the tight end from Ohio State, the Renzo styles junior, the safety from Ohio State,
Sawyer Robinson, big body quarterback from Baylor, and Desmond Reed, the small, but shifty and speedy
running back, but we're going to use them on special. Yeah. It's going to be a special team or
gadget guide. It's kind of our strong hall. I think so too. That's a pretty close to, yeah, I'd
trade, you know, I'd take that right now. Pretty pretty close. But yeah, there's our kind of
final mock draft Friday. I don't remember any of our picks being like, man, we're really in a bind
here. I don't like any of this stuff. You know, like it kind of lined up like, well, this fell
into this and this, you know, they'll play it off each other pretty well. Yep. I might have
liked to nab one of those safeties a little bit earlier. Yeah, one thing, but other than that,
I think it fell very well. But instead of getting one of those safeties earlier, we got like,
you get a tackle. You get what? Yeah, yeah, yeah, and it knows if he hits or the safety hits,
Bell's value, his lottery ticket cash in is much greater, yeah. Fun stuff. Let us know where you
think or let us know what you think, part of me. You know where to get at us. We're going to
get into the YouTube comments, questions, ex Twitter, mentions, all that for two segments to close
this thing down on a Friday. What's your name at Williamson? It's the drive Steelers Nation

Down the home stretch here on a Friday and what is going to be
I mean, really starting tomorrow, Matt, just about seven or eight straight days of chaos.
I'd say a whirlwinds about the really ensue, yeah. Unbelievable. There's a lot of sports stuff
going on Saturday, just in Pittsburgh. Just tomorrow in Pittsburgh. I think people are going to
start flocking. Just tomorrow in Pittsburgh. Paulskins is on the bump and it's Paulskins
Bobblehead Day. Jinsers after fireworks, I think the thing that's amazing, right? Most
irrationally show up for and I don't get it. Fireworks one, Bobbleheads two,
but everybody live your life and do your thing. I'm not the one to judge. I'm sure I do plenty of
weird things that other people would would scratch their head and go, what the hell are you thinking?
Saturday, skiing's on the bump and skiing's Bobblehead. That's 40,000 people at the bucko's
game. They might even sell out. It's four o'clock. Penn's Flyers game one at eight o'clock. So
there's time between those. But still. But still. A lot of people are going to try to do the
double header move or you're right, right? If I was a, when I was a young war dog, I would have
definitely done something like that. But I'm 35 and washed out. You're doing spring ball though.
That's true. That's true. I am doing the spring game down in Morgantown and then the hockey game.
How long has Benson's Penn's run the playoffs? Three or four. They've missed the last three,
I think. So four years, three of the last. Yeah. It's been like, I think seven for Philly. So
it's it's going to be wild. Yeah. Um, there's a riverhounds game sold out 5,000 people downtown
Saturday night. Wow. There's a David Spade stand-up comedy show at the Biam feeder downtown
sold out Saturday night. You're on top. There is a basketball tournament at the convention
center with 700. I think it is AAU teams. Wow. Okay. Always. And not to mention the draft starts
the next week. So there'll be plenty of ongoing construction and moving and shaking for that.
I can't believe you know the AAU thing, but that brings so many people. Somebody I clean it out,
all the chaos. And someone tweeted back to me and was like, oh, by the way, there's 700 AAU
basketball teams at the convention center driving in from all over the place. Yeah. So folks,
if you're trying to be in downtown Pittsburgh on Saturday tomorrow, you should probably leave
some time today to go ahead and get in line. And then we get in the draft week. Then we get in
a draft week. This is what we play for. This is what we live for. This is the life, baby. And
we're going to be living it up here in Pittsburgh for the next seven or eight days. With that,
we're going to get to a bunch of your tweets, your YouTube comments, all that good stuff that we get
to here to close shows down in the off season. Ian says, I have to admit, I've never eaten it
sharkies. My parents are from the Latrobe area. And I went to St Vincent College. Am I an embarrassment
to my family? Obviously you are. Ian, I mean, did you at least drink it sharkies? I haven't eaten
that much at sharkies. I mean, like, that's true. Never eaten is different than like I didn't go
there late night and have a couple like, I don't think I've ever sat in a booth and sat there
in eight. I mean, we've done shows and John, the owner's awesome. Sometimes the pizza just
arrives at exactly right right. I mean, the food's phenomenal. Let's get me wrong. But I don't like
go there for dinner very often. Now we do an end to camp, get together, which is fun. And they
feed us like insane people. And the food's great. Ian, for someone that went to, uh, to
to St Vincent, I can't believe you never. It's not as embarrassing as when I inevitably wax you
in Halo two one of these days. But it's not the same dude. Pretty pretty close on the list. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. You're an embarrassment to your face. Still donation. I wonder though, like,
what were you just a Dino's guy? And you went there exclusively with did you just not,
you know, hang out on campus? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, or Ian is there a place in the trove
that Matt and I need to know about the ad that we haven't been to yet that you used to hang out.
Follow up with us on that one. Uh, Steeler Nation 920 says hot tape. Pretty happy we're rad though.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. They take care of us. I walk in there. I feel like Brett Michaels. Uh,
Steeler Nation 920 tweets us. It says hot take vanilla ice cream is only for, uh, milkshakes and
malls. Otherwise miss me with all that plain Jane. Uh, in large part, I kind of agree or a Sunday.
But that's what's going to be my like, if you, if you go to and I've got kids that are at this age
now, yeah, popular thing to do is ice cream bar birthday parties. Uh, you get a big bowl of
vanilla ice cream. And then there's a million topics. And like, when it's that, I'm, because I'm
putting a bunch of Oreos and Reese's, uh, yeah, peanut butter syrup and all that good stuff.
I mean, like, if I was eight and my parents took me to Dairy Queen and we got a banana split,
holy smokes. I mean, that was unbelievable. Unbelievable. And a blizzard. But I guess that would kind
of fall into the. Blizzards were invented when I was eight. Really? Yeah. Interesting. I don't
know the invention of blizzards, but you couldn't, there wasn't anything to pick from when I was
like that young, like your kids age. TV, look it up for us. What year did Dairy Queen roll out the
first blizzard? I remember what happened. It was I was probably 10, 12, I'm guessing. Okay.
Probably 85 is my over 80s. So I was going to say, I remember like some of my first vivid childhood
memories are like, hop it 85. I nailed it. 85 was a good year. Look at what? Yeah. Yeah. Uh,
some of my earliest vivid memories as a kid are being five, six, seven years old and hopping in
my grandpa's truck with them to go to Dairy Queen to get a blizzard. Yeah. Michael tweets and says,
I think there's a real chance the Steelers take Kaden McDonald and the 20 year old thing you
mentioned is a, you guys mentioned yesterday is a big part of it. That's not where you're going to
take that. That's the thing. I don't think they would take him at 21. I don't think he's going to
be there at 53. Right. And I'm like, he's not somebody I would move around to target. Now he's
one of those. If he somehow is there at 53, that might throw off our grand scheme of plans to be
like it would. This guy is really good. But I think 21's a little too rich for the Steelers needs
and his skill set. So I'm going to say one thing positive about that situation, one thing negative
about that situation. First off, none of their D Lyman look like that anymore. They're all tall,
long arms, six, three plus whether they're playing nose or not. I have a real hard time believing
that that's not by design. They're back down passes, guys, length, you know, athletes, change
direction, dudes. But you insert him in the middle of that defense. I see the value. Don't get
me wrong. You know, yes. Yeah. Absolutely. Michael Odeso says I have a segment idea. How about
a first round exercise where it's worst case scenario for the Steelers at each pick before 21.
May not be realistic, but a good way to see the board. That's exactly like our 21 board. That's
kind of like our 21 board. If you pick 17, the first 16 are gone. That's why we do it. But yeah,
I mean, if we were to do it purely worst case scenario, it would probably be Mendoza one.
That's. And then a lot of offensive linemen and wide receivers would probably be higher than we
had them. It's worst case scenario. That's the way I do my board is worst case scenario. Yeah. If
I picked four case scenario, I'm picking first. Okay. I'm taking for an end of the day. I'm in
a nose. All right. Yeah. That's a case scenario and pick a four. And these three are gone. That's
why you do it. Annie asks, does the number of draft picks the Steelers have? And what has been
reported as the overall weakness of the draft class impact the chances for UDFA's to catch on with
the Steelers feel like they've done relatively well with that in the recent past. I do extremely
well with it. Yes. And I would think so. Now I have no clue about McCarthy's history with
undrafted free agents. Just real quick though. The last wrinkle that would be two agents are going
to be telling their undrafted clients. The Steelers just made 12 draft picks. Don't go there.
It's going to be hard. Right. Right. And unless they're offering you more money, don't go there.
If you drafted someone at that player's position, you're going to have a less chance of getting them
than the team that didn't draft one at their position. You know what I'm saying? If you draft two
receivers, the undrafted receiver doesn't want to go to your team. You want to go someone that
didn't draft a wide out to compete with immediately. But what I was going to say is this organization
compared to the other 31 has been very attractive to undrafted free agents. I think they have very
good relationship with agents. They don't lie to them. And under the Tom Leneur and before
they gave those guys a fair shake to make the team. It's not just show up here. Get your
brains brains beat in and we'll come on foster Jalen Warren. I mean, there's a lot of guys.
Willie Parker. Willie Parker. I mean, you can go back and back. I don't know what McCarthy's
history is of keeping undrafted free agents, but it may not be up to him. I mean, so I don't
know, but it's a great point. If you make 12 picks, you're not going to be the most attractive landing
spot. Craig says it seems if we trade up in the first, we were quick. Remember when they drafted
a pick that they took a lulicon in the seventh round. And I remember Dale and I think and
that's weird. But then I thought, you're not going to get any undrafted free agent to go somewhere.
Just signed Mr. Biscay and you just drafted Kenny Pickett. I mean, the last places over you
want to go is undrafted rookie quarterback is the team that took the first round quarterback.
It's going to get all their attention to him. Absolutely. So now you make that dude come here as
opposed the other way around instead of asking them. Craig says if you trade up in the first,
you trade up in the second round to get out of no man's land, you know, you could be left with
only three picks on the top 100, you know, the first round or second round or third rounder,
would it be worth it to lose those other picks to get, you know, specific targets?
I can't imagine trade up in both first two rounds. I mean, because you'd be basically out of
thirds. It would be my guess. I mean, maybe minor moves thrown a fourth to move up three spots
in the second or something like that. Again, I don't think you'll have two trade ups in two,
the first two rounds. But I wouldn't, I would love, and this might even be a next week conversation.
There's six or seven receivers, including Cooper, who we took. There's 10 offensive linemen
that all look like potential first rounders. Yeah. Could you make it happen? You get one of each.
I don't think that's insane. I don't think it's insane. Right. It'll take a little finale. Yeah.
But I do think it's, it's realistic. I think it's realistic. I think you could leave this draft with
I don't know. Proctor in Boston. You know, I mean, right. Right. We wouldn't hate that.
We don't always pick in our mocks, but you know, or in those buckets.
DeCAS asks, uh, question for Matt and Wes. Is there anything to the fact that three of the top
defenders are from the same collegiate team, like having the other guys there in a way made it
easier for them to have good film. I'm no scout just thinking out loud. That's interesting because
I've wondered that too. Yeah. Like how much is it is just Ohio State had a trio of bonafide studs
on defense this year. Um, how much is it of them all playing as part, along with Caleb McDonald,
who could be a first round. Yeah. Yeah. A lot of other with Matt Patricia, who I think Patricia has a lot
to do with it, who I used to call the pencil fraud when he was a head coach because I thought he was
way out of his element. And why the heck are you holding a laminated play sheet with a pencil?
He still does that. It drives me crazy. You're not Brett Michaels, dude. You don't need to have a
frontman persona. All right. You're a defensive coordinator. Get the call in and stop trying to
look so cool. You hipster. Not to be critical. Yeah. Um, how much of it is that the fact that they
have a great defensive coordinator in a lot of time. I mean, he's definitely overqualified for
a college defensive coordinator. But I also laugh too when people say, and I'm not saying that this
is you decas. Um, but I laugh when people say you could never draft a quarterback out of Ohio
state because they all historically have stunk, right? Yeah. Like, but I do kind of the other side
and be like, look at the guys on defense that get drafted out of Ohio State and they almost always
hit. Yeah. Exactly. I don't know why receivers always hit. And it's hard not to do some helmet
scouting to some agree. Sure. And especially if it's a staff, it's been there a real
long time and does the same thing over and over. You know, like this group of Bama guys that aren't,
or maybe like the next group of Bama guys that were never touched by Sabin aren't the same as
Sabin and his prime, you know, pumping out Minka and those type of dudes. Um, I think a better
example than the Ohio defense though, the Ohio State defense is some of these Georgia defenses
lately that just had so many dudes, you know, Trayvon Walker and Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter
and they can't even all get on the field together. And none of them have like through the roof numbers
because they're all kind of rotational and some of them are just block eaters and got too many
guys to be, you know, all out there once they're all five stars. They all test like crazy.
It's a factor. Don't get me wrong. But I don't look at this group of Ohio State
blue chippers and think, yeah, they're just living off the other guy. Someone's riding someone's
coach. Yeah, it's not a Batman Robin situation. I know I opinion. Sometimes you have Jamar chase and
Justin Jefferson in the same wide receiver room at LSU. Yeah, in their both deserve it and they're
awesome. Maybe the two best wide receivers in the world. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, they're pukas in that
conversation. JSN's in that conversation. But I mean, Ohio State receivers. I mean, the third guy,
fourth guy are all really good pros. Speaking of JSN, that's part of the reason why I think he was
later in the first round of a pick. He's a good player, but he's just another one of these
Ohio State wide receivers. He's not Garrett Wilson or Olave, but he's really good. Yeah.
I mean, even like Ibuka and Tate, the summer before their final year as a buck guy,
they're not as good as the guys before him. I don't know if they'll quite make the first round.
Tate's going to be the first person you were taking. Ibuka had a really good rookie year.
We're in the middle of the first round.
Sudash says, happy Friday, guys. I've been looking at safeties, mostly free safeties. So far,
really only familiar with Genesis Smith and Jacobi Thomas, who has caught your attention.
Also, are there any movies or shows that you plan to watch this weekend?
Well, I asked you about movie you just saw. Yeah, I might throw on depending on my weekend
goes, but that's definitely of interest. If you're a, if you're a, I don't know,
World War II history guy. Yeah, it's the Nuremberg Trials, Russell Crowe's in it. He's outstanding.
You liked it a bunch. Yeah, Remy Malik. He was the one who played Freddie Mercury and
Bohemian Rhapsody, won an Oscar for it. It's not long. I mean, it's a little over two hours,
but it's just, it's all dialogue. Yeah, yeah. So you got to kind of be ready for a movie without
a lot of action, but it's similar. Like if you've seen Lincoln with Daniel Day Lewis,
the Abraham Lincoln movie, like 10 years ago, it's kind of similar to that. The acting is phenomenal.
The history aspect of it is really interesting. You just, you just dialogue's good.
You did dialogue's good, but you just have to be in the right mindset of like, I got to put my
phone away. I'm going to watch this movie. And there's not going to be a lot of fighting and
shooting and action, you know, don't be reading free safety scouting reports, right? Exactly.
Yeah, exactly right. But it is really good, especially if you're kind of a dork into some of
that World War II history stuff. I'm going to either tonight or Sunday, because I'll be really
busy Saturday, but I'm going to either tonight or Sunday watch the logo, which is the new Jerry West
documentary. I'm sure you will. Okay. Yeah. On prime. I'm looking forward to that one.
Safety's, we did a little bit of that. It's not a ton of freeze, not a ton of freeze. A lot of them
are also slots or project that's kind of where the position's going. Right. He does mention Genesis
Smith. He's not for me. Got really dislikes contact. Then that would not be for the Pittsburgh
Steelers. I mean, he spends a lot of time deep, deep middle where he doesn't have to get involved
physically all that much, but he's not for me. Let's see, let's do one more here before we take
our last break. Mr. Steel City says looking back at the steel, was looking back at the Steelers 23
Jeff class can't help, but to be excited to see where Omar finds value in every round of this
draft, you know, getting guys like her big in the fourth round, Spencer Anderson in the seventh
round is very encouraging to me, but there's 12 round is a slam down run slam down. Yeah. Yeah.
And yeah, Mr. Steel City, I agree. That's the if the Steelers do end up making 12 picks or say it's
10 or 11. Yeah. I think that's something to be excited about is. Yeah. You look back three years
from now and be like, totally man, they got three keepers on the third day. You made six picks
or seven picks on the six picks on the third day and half of them end up being guys that are
part of the solution, not the problem. Exactly right. That's worth it, man. Totally.
Totally. All right. Last break. More questions, comments, concerns, reactions to get us out of here
before we shut this thing down for the weekend. And we, well, I was going to say rest. I'm not
going to be resting tomorrow, but we kind of have our last little breather before next week gets
crazy. You know where to get at us. If you want to get involved, it's the drive Steelers Nation
Radio on the Steelers Audio Network. And now a word from our sponsor, Bud Light.
There's nothing better than the clean crisp. There's nothing better than the clean crisp.
What if we just got out of here and grab some Bud Lights? But man, we're on air for four more hours.
I'll figure it out. Sounds good to me.
Anything for the clean crisp taste of Bud Light. Stop up now. Bud Light. Easy to drink, easy to enjoy.

You're tuned to the drive on your 24-7 home of the Black & Gold Steelers Nation Radio.
Today's show has been nothing but a good time and we're going to close it down with roll-in-through.
As many of these YouTube comments, X Twitter questions, concerns, reactions,
all the participation from you good people. Tony says,
you guys have said that the Steelers won't use all 12 picks and I think you're probably right.
If you had to lose three of those picks, what would be your strategy going in?
Which picks would you trade to move up and in which rounds? Would you have any concern about
moving up in the third or fourth rounds? Any chance the Steelers can get an extra second round
pick. All good questions? Not easy answers. Not easy answers, but I would certainly be willing to
part with one of my third round picks to move up in the second round. I might be willing to
part with a third round pick and like a fourth or fifth round pick.
To move up in the second, you mean? Yeah, to move up in the second round.
Yeah, depending on how far you had to go, but we just did a seven round mock. If Max were to
fall to 37 and it cost me 53, a third and a fourth or 53 and two thirds, you could probably
convince me after I landed Cooper or somebody of that nature, conception or somebody like that.
I would think having five, it's kind of the sweet spot of the draft, so I hesitate to say this,
but having five picks from your first pick in the third round to your last pick in the fourth round,
which is what, like 40 pick gap, you could afford to get rid of seven of that. You know,
I mean, you have five picks in a really short amount of time. You can move two of those without
any problem. If it gets you a little for something for next year or helps you up to move to get,
you know, what you think to start or the easy answer is to be great to dump one or two of those
three sevens. Sure. But I think the only way you're going to do that is what I laid out last
a couple days ago is, okay, we'll give you, we're sitting in, you want to get to 43 and you're
sitting there going, let's say you want to get to 40 and you're like, okay, we'll give you 53
and our first third. Okay. And we're also going to throw into seventh and you're going to throw
in the next year's fifth. You know, like that's kind of like the Omar move is not on the surface,
it's a pretty clean deal. 53 and a third gets me up to 43 or whatever. But let's do a little
something on the side too. I'm going to dump this two sevens and you give me a fifth next year too.
All right. That's a deal. You know, yeah. And then all of a sudden you moved four picks for one
and you gain one for next year and all your problems are solved with two May picks.
You know what, too? I didn't realize when the Steelers moved up from 17 to 14 to draft
project Jones. And I realized that's just 17 to 14. It's only three spots, but it's still the
first round. Things are pricey in that world. For pick for it for to get pick 14, the Steelers,
all they had to give up was pick 17 and pick 120. I know, but I remember at the time go and this
is unusually cheap. Unusually cheap. Now the Patriots traded back and drafted Tristan, Christian
Gonzalez. So it worked out just fine for them. And I don't think they even would have. Well,
I remember when the Steelers moved up, I said, this is either for Gonzalez or Jones. And I
was 50, 50 on that. Yeah. So hey, maybe there is an opportunity to move up 21, a few spots,
especially if this is a draft that you don't, the teams don't want to know one wants to tango.
Everyone to move back. Dave says I got a question for the drive with all the talk of the Steelers
moving up and round two. What are your official, official predictions of how many picks the Steelers
will actually make in this year's draft? Dave says his is eight. I was about to say nine.
And I'm going to say they get something for next year. It might even be like a six-round pick,
but I bet they add a pick for next year and they make nine this year would be my number.
I'm going to go 10. I'm going to go 10. I certainly could happen. It's hard to put five
pick. You can't put like five picks and get up. I'll just give you all my sevens, both my fours.
Not mad in in that regard. All you got to do is tip the trade value percentage just enough
for a video game simulator. I say this all the time. It's not like money where if you put
enough pennies together, you get a dollar. You can't put 32 seven-throw picks and go up and give
you my next get Mendoza. I'll give you my next three hundred seven-throw picks. Right.
First round. It doesn't eventually add up to a thousand bucks. Jeff says is there a player
each of you guys would like at 21 that is not a wide receiver earn offensive lineman. Great question,
Jeff. Yeah. Fernando Mendoza. Yeah. All those Ohio State guys we mentioned.
Hey, I mean, there's players I like, but Jeremiah love. I mean, if he was still there,
yeah. Yeah. And there's a chance he would fall if he gets out of the top 10,
that he or start to, you know, I don't think it's only one, but he would fall for me, though,
in terms of realistic. I feel like the only realistic one would be one of those two top tier corners.
I would say the ones I mentioned were McCoy, Delane, and maybe them. There's no realistic quarterbacks.
There's no realistic defensive lineman. There might not even be one taken by the time we get
taken. No, you're gonna have choice or whatever you want anyway. I really like a men's kind of
interest. I really like a lot of these linebackers, not named sunny styles, but not at pick 21.
Yeah, I'm not taking CJ Allen or Rodriguez. No, if it's pick 31, then maybe it's a different
question, but or conversation players I like, but I don't want to take any of them. So I think
it's really just one of those top two corners at that point. I mean, Sadiq said no for me.
No, same here. Yeah. I mean, so the answer is kind of no. I mean, I would like Sadiq at 21,
but I wouldn't draft him if I was the Steelers, even if he was available there at 21, if that makes
sense. Yeah. I mean, he didn't make my talk 21. He was right outside of it. I think for me,
it would have to be one of those top two corners in the lane or McCoy. Now that we're kind of
talking that through. And I think there's zero chance to lane makes it zero. And if McCoy does
a little chance, if McCoy does, he probably has a red flag by him from daughters across the league.
Good point, which then you got away that doesn't mean you can't take him, but
RJ chime in in here. Yesterday, you guys were talking about Omar Khan's draft tendencies with
top 30 visits in the first two rounds in drafting a national champion every year. Do you guys know
if Mike McCarthy has any trends in his past drafts with Green Bay and Dallas? Another good question
there. I was talking about our podcast today. I mean, just organizationally, the Steelers and
Packers are probably the most not luck, but fortune of taking day two and day three receivers.
Like everyone knows Rogers went forever without a first round of wide out, but still had
driver and Nelson. And I mean, all these really good receivers over the years and the Steelers
Juju and Martavus Brian and Tony Brown. It's hard, though, because a head coach isn't in charge
of the front office. I don't even know. I know he had, I'm certain, that no one's told me this,
that I'm sure McCarthy had plenty of input in his last two stops as head coach. Like I don't think
he's sitting in the corner doing nothing and no one cares what he says. But I don't know if he
was a final decision maker. I bet not. I know in Dallas, he wasn't. I know the final decision
maker in Dallas is Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones. Right. And I'm sure they listened to their head coach.
Of course, and I'm sure they will this year. But he could have all the tendencies he wants and
they're going to take who they want. And Green Bay is just a weird organization too. They don't have
an owner. One is like the most prominent owner in a league and one has the doesn't have an owner.
So their structure is a little weird too. Matt, this one plays into some of the around campus
little teasers that we've had today and yesterday. Joby mentions that I have to include Niko.
I am Lovia. I believe is how he pronounces his name. He's the one who controversially transferred
from Tennessee to UCLA last year. Lovia used to call under sized and raw, but has crazy,
crazy traits. And DJ lag one. I think they'll call them. I'm a leaving. I'm a leaving. He's one of
those that I don't know if he's tall enough to ride the ride in Pittsburgh, but he is got.
But we could have a monster season. Oh my gosh. And who's the next one?
And DJ Lagway, who was a massive recruit at Florida and things hadn't gone the way and he just
transferred to Baylor. Those are both two good names. Joby. So that puts us up to what 15.
And there's always a name like Carson Wentz that from a smaller school that nobody's even talking
about yet. Absolutely. No one's talking about Joe Burrow. No one's talking about Baker Mayfield.
Those guys were first and second picks in the draft. No one other than your boy West
Euler was talking about Fernando Mendoza until he at least was on list until until September.
He was more well known than Wentz. Correct. Correct. But he wasn't arch and club Nick.
Oh no. And sellers and and us. Although somebody tweeted at you back in August and told you,
this guy is the truth. T Mac says, who's more underrated Joey Porter, Jr. or Zach Frazier.
That is Frazier. That is music to all of our pit listeners ears right there. Let's talk about
the Penn State and the West Virginia guys. I think Frazier because I think JPJ is starting to get his
flowers nationally. I do too. And I also think he has more weaknesses to his game. I'm not saying
he's a worse player. I get what you're saying. Yeah. I mean, he's much better in man than zone.
Honestly, he's an improved tackler, but he's got the best tackler out there. The
Frazier doesn't really have any weaknesses. The center is probably always going to be underrated.
Yeah. Right. Right. Right. I mean, what he does is I mean, with all respect to Joey,
Frazier's definitely a top five center. And there's more. There's only 32 of them. See,
it's not like you're fighting 128 of them or whatever. But Porter's not a top five corner.
I think he could be someday probably all the really good centers are underrated except for
Creed Humphrey because he's got a bunch of super balls and everybody's seen him play and maybe
Tyler Linderbaum now that he signed the massive contract that gets overrated now.
I might be at least a little overpay. Yeah. Although granted, they've got the space and it makes
a ton of sense. Oh, that's right. Yeah. Yeah. But, but I would rather a Frazier than Linderbaum.
Agreed. They both cost one dollar. Agreed. Let's see here. Smooth Dave. We got time for one or two
more. Smooth Dave. The Steelers have connections to Omar Cooper via Adam Henry and Signeti,
Mad Max and Jordan Tyson via Heinz Ward, Nuss via McCarthy and Jacob Rodriguez via CJ
CJ. Are you? Who do we have on the staff that's tied to Texas tech lineback? CJ. I
you, I think, is the outside linebacker coach. A younger guy. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. He must be a
Texas tech guy. Yeah. I wouldn't have put two and two together on that. Is it more? Hey,
smooth Dave. Good finds there, dude. Is it more likely to draft those players?
Also, would Heinz Ward have good intel on Mad Max, even though he's the wide receiver coach. Yes.
Of course he would. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, game planned around him and tell you what type of
a guy he is and how he is a practice and how he's in the locker room. And yeah. And those are
really good finds. Smooth Dave, but I can promise you, I just know all the coaching world works.
They got a lot more connections than that. Yeah. McCarthy's probably worked with. They got
connections. Yeah. I always say defensive coordinator 10 years ago and they had beers together.
You know, whatever. You know, you know, the combine. You know, and like they had beers together at
sharkies and Ian wasn't there to see it all go down. Right. Because he's disgraced with family.
That's going to do it for today. Good week. Love you guys on the on the YouTube and the X
Twitter. We really appreciate it. Hopefully it's as fun for you all as it is for us to get into
some of this participation every day. It has been a good week. Like Matt said, big thanks to Brett
Michaels joining us today. Yeah, very cool. Big thanks to TV for producing on the video side.
Folks, enjoy the weekend. Breathe a little bit because when we get back here Monday,
it's going to be the start of a crazy five, six, seven days here in Western Pennsylvania.
But that will do it for us today for Matt Williams and I'm West Mueller. Take care, everybody.
Enjoy the weekend. And we'll talk to you next week as always. You know where to find us. It's on
your 24 seven home of the black and gold. Steelers nation radio on the Steelers audio network.
How hard could it be? My wife wants one of those resort showers. You won't believe what they
want to charge just for tile. And you're doing it all by yourself. It can't be that hard.
Did you mean to install that waterfall shower in your living room? Technically it's an open
concept. Yep, you might want to rethink that. DIY crafts are great. DIY major renovations.
Not so much. Instead, borrow a smart with S&T bank with great rates on loans and lines of credit.
