2:23I think it's a great idea of that we're having the midterm convention, but we also criticize when we see something wrong. Like the timing of the whole thing, the score around and the situation that's happening with Congressman Biggs, a gubernatorial candidate, Andy Biggs, and the amount of money that's being spent because we're not seeing a whole lot of commercials. Here's the deal. We have Arizona Republic of Republican Party Chairman Sergio Ariano in the center ring. We want to bring him on to kind of take on some of these issues. And Sergio, welcome to the center ring. I want to get to the convention in a moment. But first, I want to display what might be some fake news out there. There is a fake news story out that the Republicans are not spending money on ads. The Republicans are not just sitting around on Pousa Cash, or are they Sergio?

3:29James C. Harris from the ground here at the convention. It's great to be back on the show. Thanks for the question. Look, Republicans are right to ask where the ads are. Katie Hobbs has spent more than 10 million on television. And I hear the frustration. But Republicans are communicating digitally and more advertising is coming. And look, it's always easy to throw rocks from the cheap seats. It's a little different when you're actually sitting in the chair and responsible for every dollar that Republicans have entrusted in me. And I respect everybody who has held this job before me. But I wasn't elected to run someone else's playbook. The idea that the chairman's job is simply to empty the bank account and get to zero I completely disagree with. And getting to zero isn't a strategy. Winning elections is the objective. So to the Republicans asking Sergio where the heck are our ads? I hear you. You're going to see more. We're going to fight. We're going to spend. But we're going to make every damn dollar count. And you've got to be strategic and not get faked out by the fake news.

4:29Again, everyone wants their little sound bite. But they're not willing to go out and put in the word to get it done and push us across the finish line. This party is for more organized than ever. And we have a lot of momentum behind us to get it done. Last night, the Arizona Republican Party arranged for Arizona delegates to hear from former speaker, the House of Newt Gingrich in Texas. This is the guy who won Republican control of the House for the first time in history so many years ago. Did he give you guys any tips for maintaining the control of the House this cycle, Sergio? You know, James, he was an absolute honor to have new, in-rich visit us. He brings a wealth of knowledge. Here's what I took away from the speaker as a perspective. This is a guy who knows something about winning the House. You know, he engineered a Republican takeover in 94. And after the Democrats had control of the chamber for 40 years, the message I took away is that Republicans cannot get distracted by every headline.

5:29We have to define the choice in front of Americans and give them something to vote for, not something to vote against. And Newt has been very clear about how consequential he believes President Trump has been historically. We walked away motivated, but also reminded that nothing happens automatically. We have to win this argument, and then we have to go win the vote, and we're going to do that. Now, you are in Texas, I take it. And tonight is the beginning of the convention, but guy to tell you, Sergio, even the convention is very controversial, especially with my audience. We love the fact that we're having a convention, but a lot of us are not going to be watching it, because, quite frankly, the NFL is back on television after a long hiatus. So how do you balance this? What is your sense of how the, I guess the television is going to go tonight. Because it is speaking tonight, will he get the bank for the bug? Because this was unfortunately scheduled on the opening night of the NFL.

6:32Oh my gosh, James, you know, I'm a cardinal fan, so probably what it is, you might be more excited as a fan that you are. Green Bay. You're a cardinal fan, so it doesn't matter. That's what you're saying. You in Pablo, you aren't going to be watching anyway. That's what we're turning into the convention. And then, you know, the liberal media is going to black out Trump. But here's what I do know. I think that there's a lot of energy here. The environment is buzzing, like everywhere I walk. You know, they have the tools off the areas for us as allegations. And there's a big buzz in the air. Some people are saying that Trump's going to release some massive plan on the final night. We will get to hear from Jay Fueybel. He is speaking tonight at the convention. There's a reason that we're having a midterm convention. And I think it's just to bring Republicans together. And he, the president tonight gets to set the tone. We have to take that energy back when we go home. It's not a victory lap. It's more of a starting gun.
