Is drafting an EDGE Rusher at 8 a no-brainer for the Carolina Panthers?

The Carolina Panthers made a bold decision last offseason when they chose to part ways with emerging edge rusher Brian Burns rather than offer him a lucrative $30 million per year contract. This choice created a significant void at the edge rusher position, which the Panthers struggled to fill during the 2024 season. Now, with the draft approaching and a strong class of edge rushers available, the Panthers find themselves in a position to select one with the eighth overall pick. The question remains: Is that the best choice for Carolina, especially after investing considerable resources into their defense this offseason, including at the edge rusher position?
