That's oReillyauto.com slash Adam. All right, so much you get into, Alison Rosen, back from the marriage. It's so good to be back. I want to know everything. Everything? Okay, girl. Under two minutes. Well, first of all, I put so much pressure on myself to be in the moment. And you know what really takes you out of the moment? Thank you, in the moment. Yes. Because I felt like I have to be in the moment. And then I would begin to worry. And then I would worry about worrying. So I had it to do over again. So this accomplished. I should have just like banged myself on the head and then just sort of taken it down a few notches. I mean, overall, it was great. It was wonderful. I think that my expectations were a little bit too high. I think that I had this idea that somehow if you plan it right, it'll be this, it'll gel into this like amazing magical day. And it was a good day. But like nothing, nothing can really be up to that.

Well, here's the problem. Guys grow up probably not even wanting to get married. Like we grow up and all our idols are riding around on hogs with their shirts off in a suede vest, a lone banging waitresses. They can't be bent down. They're lone wolves. And small, yeah, think of Lorenzo Lomis outlaw. I always do. Every song, there's no song that's ever been written by a woman where she explains to a dude, she's got a ramble. But maybe if I come in your town again and I'm not menstruating, we could have sex or I give you a blowjob or something like there's none of that. It's in the middle. Every song was about a dude in a band and he's rambling and he's traveling and he's coming to town. Can't tame him and he and we all looked up to him and all that. So guys, well, let's take a look. Brian, you could probably help me out with this.

But it's like the coolest guy on the planet as a young person was James Bond. I thought you were going to go with funds. The funds. Well, the funds are far off. Fonds was banging every waitress over it. What the hell was that? Alice. Yeah. Was it Alice? Yeah, I think it was out. And that's the age A Arnold got it later on. But every dude, 007. Yeah. Right. What's 007 do? Fucking ass gadgets and guns and a cool car. No child seat, by the way, in that lotus or acid martin just submarine. Yeah, the opposite. It's an ejector seat. Yes. Sorry, sweetie. You got to go. Right. You're done with the blowjob. I'm in my refractory period and I'm just going to hit the cigarette lighter and you're going out. So what do you do? Travel around. Fucktot checks. And then next Bond movie would come out. New car. New check. Never the same check. Never the same check. Sometimes the same bad guy never the same check.

Never. And her name would be like, Koosie McVolva. And it should never. Never over 25. And Bond just kept getting older and older and older. But the cars and the chicks got newer. And that's what we grew up watching. Right. You guys watched fairy tales and things where the prince came in on the horse and the steam. They took off and swept her away and all that kind of stuff. So whatever it is that you guys are experiencing for us, it's a small death. But what you guys are experiencing is going to be disappointing. Just like if I if I picked out a movie for you, Ballbron. Okay. And all I did was pump the shit out of this movie for. You're going to love it. For 27 years. And then you saw that movie. Right. Finally, we kept counting down the days. But then months before the movie, you're like, I'm going to get, I'm going to train. I'm going to mentally train so that I'm in the right mindset so that I can appreciate the movie because the movie is fleeting and the movie is so fucking expensive. Right.

But I am at the age where I'm choosing when to watch the movie. And I'm going to have such a good movie experience that I'm going to be inside the experience looking around being like, look at me watching the movie. And we started picking out. And you're going to have your period during the movie, by the way. I still want to see it. Popcorn ball, popcorn bowls and things like that. And it was all in a, you know, what, what sofa you'd be sitting on. Do I have to diet in preparation? I'm just going to diet in preparation. At the end of that movie, after 27 years of buildup. You might just burst into tears and you think this wasn't how I wanted to spend the night after the movie. Or is it going to be like me with the gods must be crazy? You mean like, what's, what's the big? What the fuck? Yeah. Yeah. So I hold on one second. I got to call her. Yeah, so it's unfair. Yes. Because there's two people that are walking down that aisle. One guy who thought he was going to be riding a chopper, his entire life and fucking waitresses. And the other one who only dreamt of this moment.

My favorite angel. Both disappointed in their own way. But one had it, this thing was built up. And the other was trying to avoid this thing. You write your own verse? But I mean overall, it was showed. I just showed an episode of Outlaw by Lorenzo Lund. Okay. Sorry. Drew Curtis is on the blower. He's the guy who started a FARC. And he's a creator owner FARC. By the way, 50 million page views a month. So Allison, one second. Barcboxbabybarkbox.com. Oh, Molly's coasting to a stop now. I saw she was in some treatment today. Never, never ends. It looked expensive. All I can tell you is she's wearing a sock and a shirt at this point. The shirt to protect one wound, a sock so she doesn't scratch. Pretty soon she's going to be outfitted with spats. And that's when I go old Yeller on her ass. Right now, all she's got is Barcbox.

That's all she's got. Monthly box. Four to six full-size products. Innovative durable, toys, leashes, treats, all made in the US. Natural ale, caribou, wild boar, other lean wild meats. Keep a dog fit and healthy. Healthy yes. Yeah, whatever's left over, I'll feed to the kids. Anyway, three month plans, tailor to your dog size. Barcbox committed to helping the homeless dogs. The ones with the stick and the bandana on there. The bendal over the shoulder. The bendal over the shoulder. And US and Canada. That's right. They don't discriminate. So, 90% on a new subscription by visiting barkbox.com forward slash AdamistBarkbox.com forward slash Adam Drew. Hey. Hey man, good to speak to you. Yeah, you do. Drew, before we get into all this Ted Talk and patent rolling and fighting all these guys and how you did all this stuff, how did bark start for you? I started in 1999 as a website that was a link to stuff that I thought was a lot of fun.

And I started as a website because I was emailing people previously and I thought I was annoying them. So I put it on the website and said it just kind of kind of went from there. And where did you come up with the name, Farc? I in 1997 somebody told me something that sounded sort of unreasonable, which was that there were going to be no for letter domain names left. So I started typing in combinations of them and found that one and just reserved it. So it's kind of an accident. It's true. There's none left. And it's. They disappeared in 1988 actually right after that article came out. I'm squatting on kind. Yeah, you could hold that one. Like to see that. Yeah. Yeah. So Farc is kind of fun and it sort of feels right for the website, which is weird now that the website has become Farc or Farc's become the website. But I would have thought, oh, it's an acronym or something, but it turns out it turns out to feel feel right. So Farc is something that's become successful and you were then sued by patent roll. Yes.

Yeah, that's right. Back in 2011, I got popped for the kind of patent roll didn't read his own patent. It was something I didn't get friends on. It was the head of patent on creating a news release out of data entered over the internet and an emailing it to people. And unfortunately for that guy, I had nothing to do with anything like that. So I decided to fight. And you won, correct? Yeah. And not only that I went on it basically because I got him a discovery work. Basically I asked him for other than friends with which they didn't have. So they decided to give me your best offer. And I said, well, how about nothing? And I said, sure. And my problem was that I had spent a lot of money up until this point. And I wanted to get something out of it. So I struck the non disclosure agreement out of the settlement. And long the whole that turned into a whole vast new key of opportunity for me. So how much money had you spent on attorneys up until that point? It was mostly figures at that point. So I got off lucky, but it sucked because I was getting ready to go into an expansion and hire a couple people and do all kinds of things.

And basically not only did I have to not do that in 2011, but we had another downturn in 2012 and the ad market. And it basically sent me back three years, you know, for nothing. Yeah, I mean, that's the part that no one really factors into this because they go, well, so what? You're using your money for this. So it goes to lawyers. Well, it's like, yeah, you have a business. You're trying to get your business from a small business to a medium or from a medium to a large, but you're going to have to hold off on hiring people or building out that office space or buying those new computers or whatever is. Because you've sunk a couple hundred grand. In my case, maybe a million into something. You could only imagine how many laptops and employees and things you could do smoke diamonds. Or on around anymore. We had to cut back. That's right. Well, the worst part of it too was this was a patent that I didn't in prison. I mean, he could have treated any of it. Anybody listening to this podcast under the same terms and the same outcome would have happened. You basically have to produce don't in friends. And that's really hard to do.

How do you prove you don't fuck goat? I don't know. I mean, I haven't done any of the rest of this. I don't fuck goats. I don't. Right. Well, first thing I've learned with the goat fucking thing is I stop protesting so vehemently. Like I stopped going, what? Who told you that? But was it Steve? It seems a fucking liar. The burger proof is on the prosecution on this one. It's Steve the goat. I don't know. I don't know. I don't never heard the word Steve. I don't know who Steve is. Why is everyone keep asking me about Steve? Yeah, I should probably, you know, reel it in a little, maybe just like laugh. That's a good one. And then smell my dick. You know what I'm saying? I agree. And this is the problem. I have no idea what patent were infringing upon, but the data, it doesn't matter. It turns out I've read it and it's ridiculous. I mean, basically, so I have a computer science degree that I checked out back in the early 90s. And as a patent written in a Pascal language, which nobody used for anything in over 20 years. And this guy coined his tone and entire industry based off of this really, really flimsy argument.

I hope you guys bust his balls and tell him honestly. Well, we're trying to do it. And with help of folks like yourself and the people listening, go to funanything.com and forward slash Pan Draw. We can stomp these guys out. It's just, it's a sad state of affairs. I've talked about it many times. It's like the time I got a J walking ticket and I was in the crosswalk. And I was at a signal and I was walking across the intersection. And in a motorcycle cop shot across the same direction I was walking after me, obviously in rape bank, I mean, Burbank, California. And he said, I'm giving you a ticket for J walking. And I said, well, for I just walked across in the crosswalk. And he said, yeah, you stepped off the curb after it was blinking red. And I said, well, it didn't matter. I was just walking. I made it to the other side. And you went the same direction I went and you showed up after me. So obviously it was safe for me. And he said, I'm right now at J walking ticket. And he said, I'm going to fight it and I'm going to win.

But it's going to use up a bunch of my time. And he said, that's fine. And he wrote me a ticket. And I went to the piece of shit Burbank courthouse. And I took one day to file it. That's the name that's on the outside. Piece of shit. And it's like bit O honey. And I went and filed my paperwork and then they gave me a date. And then three weeks later I came back and then I wasted a fucking day. And then I stood in line and then the judge threw it out. And then I went back and everyone said, oh, you won. And I said, one what? Yeah. Exactly right. It doesn't really feel like you wanted more feels like you're a state that's just in the massive annoyance. So I thought you're probably aware of the guys that is another troll in the space right now. Who's probably the worst of the worst. It's called MPHA. Have you heard of these guys? Yes. Yes. Yeah. Those guys are dirty at home. They went up. They basically popped people a thousand dollars per employee if your company ever scanned email. Doc into the email. And as a result of that, the state of Vermont decided to activate their attorney general and basically give them the legal authority to go after these guys who filed these lawsuits in bad faith.

I think they turned out that MPHA is filed nearly 16,000, 345 different letters of like on my excursion letters. I don't know what the actual legal term is, but that's what they are basically saying, give us money or we'll sue you. And the state of Vermont, I said, OK, fine, we're going to put it up to this. And interestingly, I was in Kentucky and thanks to a friend of mine who owns a company that got to here locally as well, we decided to copy that law and run it through the Kentucky state legislature and the 30 past percent and the House of look at it. And hopefully it won't be the third state to pass similar legislation here, but it's been. Well, it's all great. And as I say all the time, you know, well, two things. It's going to be like they find the cure to my particular pancreatic cancer, but I've been dead for three years. So it's a nice victory except for not for me. I'm going to have to fight these guys number one. Number two, as I was saying to Mark Marin, I believe when I was doing his podcast and we're talking about this,

how long did we really expect your somebody who makes your living on the internet? I make my living on the internet and doing a little gay porn. How long? Oh, I have a lot of this up on the internet. You're right. So I do make my living solely on the internet. How long could you expect the man, the lawyers, the Wall Street conglomeration, you know, Larry Tates of the world, Rich, Rich Whitey at his ugliest? How long could you really expect him to stand by the sidelines and not wet his beak on this internet thing? You know, whatever it is, whether it's the government or whether it's the man, patent trolls or whatever. Like how long are they going to let this kind of money and these kind of ideas exchange hands without going, you know what? I think I can work my way into that. And what they did was they copied the trial, the injury attorney strategy from the late 80s early 90s. Remember they would pop people for $2 million for hot copying your life.

Right. And it's exactly the same model. Interestingly though, that went away due to, you know, the government finally getting involved in saying, you know, we shouldn't allow people to do this. And I think the tide is turning right now. I've been working with Leach Sang over at New Ag on a project to stop these guys out. And they're doing a lot of analysis on publicly traded trolls. And they're all having a lot of trouble recently. They're suddenly not winning as much money back. All the revenues are down across the board. And this is between, you know, the little tiny guys like the one that popped you to the really big billion dollar companies. They're all starting to struggle out of nowhere all of a sudden. And hopefully that's going to continue. And I think based on what I can tell, it looks like people are finally saying, hey, you know what? Let's stop writing these guys checks. Let's actually fight these guys. And I'll tell you I really damn good reason why this is going to work out for you Adam is because I've been screaming at the top of my lines about patent rolls. And so I got out of my lawsuit in the middle of 2011. And you would think that that would be the equivalent of just daring somebody to come and, you know, hack your website or whatever. And I did too, but I was like, I don't care.

It turns out I haven't been, I haven't had to receive a single letter. And not only that, but every company that fights that we know of has had the same experience. They go away. Lee Cheng is actually almost got himself out of a job over a new egg because he ran all the patent rolls off. He didn't get scared anymore. So there is a really, really good reason why people should fight these guys. Well, I agree. And Drew, and I also feel like they should have been more selective over who they sued because if they see people like yourself and they come after people like myself, we have platforms. We have microphones. You have a very popular website. That is the wrong person to go after, meaning, I don't know if you're going to, if you're going to fuck someone's wife, don't have the guy own a string of outdoor advertising billboards. Because he's going to put a big picture of you and draw a cock coming out of your mouth. As my grandfather used to say. And coming after me is not a good idea because I'm friends with all these other guys who have these podcasts, but not all of my friends with guys like that.

I'm friends with guys like you, at least we can pretend for the next seven to 12 minutes. And I do interviews with people all day long because people recognize me from previous work that I've done. And I call out these guys. So they probably should have flown under the radar a little bit and not must around with the guys that had the platform. Well, you know, it's really rare that people have a fight back. It's like basically it's like the three of us, plus I talk to other people who said they really wish they wanted to, but they couldn't justify the cost. And my response has always been, well, it's a lot of money to pay the guy the first time. It'll be a lot more money to pay the next 50 guys that come with their hands out as well. Or you can just stop the first one and be done with it. There's a really convoy reasons to be going. Well, I thank you for your support, Drew. And I can tell people to go to a fork.com if they want to laugh. And they all know I'm sure everyone has it saved on their computer. And also the TED talk. They can check that out as well. And that is about patent trolls, right? Yeah, it's a six minute talk. I gave a couple years ago.

It's a TED.com. If you punch my name in it all. No, come right up. But it's a pretty good summary of the problems that we're facing. And basically why everybody else should care. And like one of the major data points is these guys are done more damage to the economy than 9-11 plus the Iraq war. Wow. I am. Drew Curtis, thank you so much. Yeah, anytime. Thank you. Appreciate it. It is not a victimless crime. All right. I'm sorry on this line just to wrap up. Another thing that someone mentioned to me is like, it's one thing to go after Apple or Samsung or these big faceless, nameless corporations. But in go after essentially the mom and pop thing that in podcasting everyone feels so connected. You know, you feel like your friends with Adam Crawler or Mark Mariner, whoever your guy is. That it's very odd to put a face to it. It's a very odd choice to sue someone they can put a face and a voice and personality to. I don't know if the nameless faceless corporations are. I don't think these guys have their ear to the ground that way. I just think it's about taking a dirigible feeling it full of leaflets, leaflets saying pay us and just throwing it,

just scattering it into the win and seeing how much how many envelopes with checks come in through the door. And the hesitation to fight it is because of time, money, or is it the fear that suddenly you'll end up owing more even? The hesitation to fight is time and money. Every lawsuit and every lawyer, trial lawyer say, oh, you don't want to go, you don't want to go to trial. I mean, guys who go to trial for living and they find out other ways to get paid. No matter what the dispute is, it doesn't matter whether it's patent rolling or you walk out on your way to the bathroom and slip and fall. Your lawyer and my lawyer would both say don't, you don't want this. You don't want this. You don't want this. Part of it is they don't want to do their job. But the other part is you don't want to do this. It's going to take way too long. It's going to cost way too much discovery, cost tons. It's just deposition. It's a hassle and it costs a ton of money.

And so every lawyer just goes to just settle up. And look, when push comes to shove, if you give a business a choice between paying $1.5 million in legal fees and then lost opportunity, meaning, you got to fly back and forth to Texas nine times. That's time that you could have been doing business versus give us a million dollars. Well, let's business. There you go. Take the million bucks and let's just put this behind us. And then someone goes, it's not right. And I go, I know it's not right. But whatever the city of Burbank tried to do to me wasn't right either. A lot of people would have said, just pay the 65 bucks for a jaywalk and take it and move on. Save yourself two days. You know, out of the office. All right. All right. All right. Allison. Okay. So I mean, I'm happy that I married Daniel. I am in love with him. That part of it is all great. And the wedding was beautiful and everyone who went cry. I mean, our vows were really personal. Well, actually, we did the traditional vows.

But before that, we each kind of spoke a little bit to each other. So that was very, very sweet and emotional. And I mean, like everyone's comment was that they cried. And there were a lot of tears. And it was this really a ceremony filled with love. And all of that. I just the whole time, I felt like I was just slightly out of joint mentally. Like I just couldn't get into the right headspace. And then I focused on trying to get into it. And then I don't know. I had a Kevin Neillan speaking in front of the city council moment that made me think of you guys. Because people have said to us ahead of time, you should maybe prepare a few words. Because people expect you to speak, have a few words are paired. And I was like- Like he was talking about bonzo, the elephant. Yeah, at the zoo. So I thought, oh please, I speak all the time. I do not need to, I'm very good with expressing how I feel. And sincerity ended at us. So at the dinner of the night before, we stood up. And I was like, you know, I just want to, and like I lunged out the, because Daniel's the one who was usually the leader of the war.

Daniel is the one who was usually a little more hesitant and he was a little more concerned about even doing the vows in front of people because he, you know, what's going to happen, what if he cries and bit it up and anyway. So anyway, so I'm like, hey, you know, just want to thank everyone for coming. You know, we really love all of you and it really, I'm looking around. It means a lot that you're here. And then I had nothing more to say. Well, the gravity is the soul of wit. We have a clip. I think I, I don't, this is, I, I, yeah, it's very nice. Was that from, when was that from five? Yeah, so anyway, that was a, was surprisingly awkward, but that was okay. And then I said to Daniel, okay, it's your turn. And then he said like something beautiful, which I don't know if he had prepared or not. Another thing, you know those, I don't know if you guys know these. The photograph, the wedding photographs you see, the getting ready photos.

Yes. Which I assumed you're ready and then they come in and then you fake those photos because at my sister's wedding, that's how they did it. Like she was already in her dress, and I'm like, okay, pretend you're putting her dress on. That was not my experience of it. My experience of it was I'm choosing between the footless banks or the yummy tummy undergarments, trying to try on both and something. There's a photographer in there with her camera. That I did not enjoy that part of it. I didn't enjoy the someone snapping photos while I'm in the midst of trying to figure out you know which thing I want to go with. I was weird. I have found that the times you probably least want the videographer, the photo, whatever are the times you're probably most thankful or at least interested in seeing it 10 years on. I've, I know it sounds weird, but what I'm saying is is. Well, I've been doing this patent rolling stuff and I've been making the rounds and I've been annoyed and having to get up early and do the good morning, whatever show and call

Howard Stern at 355 in the morning and do the radio junkets and blah, blah, blah and Chris Maxx, a pad has fallen me around with this video camera everywhere. And all I find myself is it does, but I have to keep saying to myself, oh, when he waxes into a cool documentary and we look at it in 10 years, it'll be very interesting snapshot in time. And also when you go back and go, oh, what was I doing? Or where did I go or how did this work or look at this guy's over at Good Day LA? I guess that's before the airplane hit the building. Everyone looks so good. You know, or whatever, whatever it is or was, you'll be glad to have it captured. Right. Just from a documenting the moment kind of thing. And I definitely, I'm really happy that we decided to have a videographer just because what I didn't expect was I didn't expect to feel like I didn't even see, you know, all this time spent choosing the fucking flowers. Like I didn't even see the flowers down the aisle.

I didn't even see the arbor. I did, there's, you know, I would like just so I feel like I get a sense of like I want to see the ceremony because I feel like I was so in it that I didn't really get a sense of it. So I'm happy that the video will be there. Maybe adrenaline pushes everything out. You end up getting this weird tunnel vision and you also have no memory of what had transpired a moment earlier when adrenaline hits. Well, that was another thing that I wish I had done differently. So we got married on this lawn and there's a few steps that go up to the lawn and I was going to have both my parents walk me down the aisle. My dad is old and can't really walk long distances without being in pain. So we had him in a chair where the steps are and then my mom was going to be with him and I was going to walk out and meet them and then go down the aisle. And I could have sort of come out from behind a tree so that people wouldn't see me or I could. By the way, while the wedding was going on there, like carting me in a golf cart around

and the whole time I'm just thinking, I hope I don't fall off the golf cart because that would make for a funny story. But anyway, I ended up going sort of down and down this lawn so that everyone saw me. I went down like from this little Hossie end up placed down the lawn to my parents and then they walked me down the aisle. But the walk from where I was to my parents was kind of it felt long and I was alone. I really felt like I walked myself down the aisle and in those moments before I got the cue to go out. I was alone and I really, I'm not someone who feels alone a lot or feels lonely a lot. Like I'm pretty independent and solid on my two feet. But in those moments I felt really alone and that put me, that was weird. I mean, Daniel thought that it was a choice, a choice and he thought there was something sort of beautiful about here. I am like there was something very dramatic I think about me walking down the aisle alone and then meeting with my parents who are older and then them walking me.

It wasn't a choice so I just, I don't know. But pretend it was. Okay. What a great, I made this choice. Awesome choice. Yeah. Awesome. Yeah. If you don't know, but if you're choreographing a wedding, you could see going down that way. So highlight what you guys, what was on the menu? Open bar. It was beer and wine. No, no hard liquor. Inching choice. Not what I would have been. All right, I said people have to bring their own boo. No boo. That's what flasks are for. Beer and wine. Yeah, beer and wine. And then I got the judgment in your eyes. I'm sorry. How many boxes of wine did you bring? Did you bring a box of red and white? Do you tap friends here? How do you technically? All right, so just some natty light in a box of wine. I understand. I would have liked to have the full hosted bar, but at the prices for alcohol at this place, it just there just would have been no way.

All right, well, again, interesting choice. So you got to take care of a dozen people. No one ever thinks about the alcoholics, you know what I mean? They think about the vegans, they think about the vegetarians, they think about the people with the allergies and the dietary issues. But how about the alcoholics? I know. What about us? We did have a box of syringes for people who needed them. So when what time did this take place? The ceremony was supposed to start at 4.30. It actually started closer to 5. And then it went till 10. And then the venue was kind of up our butts about letting us know we were behind schedule. And that I didn't enjoy that part as much either. The whole like, okay, we have time for one more quick toast. And I actually said, you know, feel free to, it was the venue there in my butt. You know, feel free to speak. Like they can serve dinner while people are still speaking. There was a lot of pressure. There was a lot of pressure from a lot of people that I wasn't anticipating. Let me just, let me just wrap up your wedding message.

No, booze or maybe a pressure either. Weddings aren't made for folks like us because. Bad yes. Podcasters. Because we don't like being the center of attention. We don't like having people come up and say, well, are you doing okay? You're doing okay? You need something? Hold on. She wants to say something. You know, you just go, it's like this. I don't know. I'll give you a fine example. I went to Austin yesterday. I came home from Austin yesterday. I went to Austin earlier that day. The deal we talked about before leaving LA early, going to Austin, going straight from the gig, going to the place to Spectrum, some of the man, Grea, then going out to dinner with Jimmy on that night. At some point, I have to take a shit. At some point, it's going to be at the airport. It's going to be at the liquor store that has a common bathroom with the 300 people that

are waiting in line to see me. So two of them can be in there. It could be at the restaurant once again. And there's always that feeling of like I don't. That's the whole thing is my wedding. I don't want anyone to recognize me. I would love to shit with impunity wherever I'd like to just walk into that bathroom stall at that airport and take a shit. Not some guy go, hey, catch a contractor guy, you know, or whatever it is. And your wedding is one long that there's times all you want to do is grab either beer one. Whatever's cold. You just want to grab a no duels and blow half a cigarette out on the fucking lawn and be like, just fucking left alone before. But no, it's not. It cannot happen. When you get up and start walking, somebody wants to know where you're going. And there's that feeling of just, I just want to go over here. Just leave me alone over here. I don't need anything. I mean, I literally didn't take a shit for like four days ahead of time. And that was so uncomfortable the day of. And I have my period.

You're the best. But one, one sweet moment. Hold on, I got a challenge. Okay. Yeah. Four Daniel, because he's like, all right, on the period, guess we're going back. No. No. All roads are blocked. No. It's like a president's in town. All the roads are blocked. And the day they're having the marathon. All right, sorry. Oh, we're over. Sweet moment. Yeah, a sweet moment, which had been planned ahead of time. My dad and my brother and my two adorable, my brother's kids who are my nieces, who are like the most adorable little girls, who have the most angelic little voices. My dad played trumpet. My brother played guitar. And my nieces sang the way you look tonight. Wow. And everyone was just bawling by the end. So that's in the good memory part. Wow, that is a sweet, sweet moment. And you got the videographer for this. Yes. Plus, you have something to watch now when marriage falls apart. Turn the scene, or it's cleaning his gun, just drinking champagne, and he'll straight

out of the bottle. All right. Let's see. Oh, by the way, in the tool, tooltune department. Yes, sir. Heartbreaker by Dean. John Warwick. Orwick, yeah. I'm glad you brought that up because. Yeah, I don't know. I love that song. Can I make a very quick announcement? Yes. I made a tooltune's playlist. I figured you would. It's on songsa.com. It's free for anyone to listen, and it's out there and to let yourself. And all good songs that I stand by will be very embarrassed to see myself singing along to the country. I would like to hear that song while I talk to Tyson 28 from Salt Lake City. Tyson? Eighth man. It's going on, man. Oh, no shit. Man, get it on. Get it on, man. I've been listening to you for about 10 years. Did you find me talk to you? Good. Listen, I'll tell you what you do is you listen to me and check out our good friends over at scorebig.com. Yeah. Guaranteed to save you money. You like ball games, right? Yeah, it's like all right. All right.

Tyson, what's your problem? Hold on. Well, I need some, oh, shit. Oh, yeah. Is this plan underneath? Yeah. Oh, you only told me? Huh? I got lost and Deon Warwick's nostrils. I mean, I was. Written by Barry Gibb. Why wouldn't it? They're all over this bitch. When my girlfriend dumped me, I was driving home from Vegas and this thing came on my truck radio. And I was turned to windshield wipers on. I was crying so God damn it. I like the thing started out as a sniffle. Yeah. Pretty rest. Come in right in and Tyson, remember the song for when you're 16 months old? Like an ant, you know it. Yeah. This is when my parents used to always have sex too.

Well, I think it was my dad, my mom for sure. Oh, yeah. This is right at the top of the leaderboard of a jewel do. This is all the mess. Yeah. Yeah, somebody tweeted me this and I said, oh, yeah. First I thought heartbreaker and I thought Pat Panitar now and then I realized it was this one. What's up? Yeah. Is that dire maker? Oh, it's another one. Here comes the kids. Okay, and for Baker about this time. All right, go ahead, Tyson. All right. You don't shut it off completely. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Keep it going. Keep it going. There we go. That's a good one. So I've been in a relationship with the girl for six years.

I'm 28. We have dogs together, which sounds weird. Allison, they relate. I do. There's a girl in my work who's super sexy and I need to figure out. Is it my dick? Tell me to break up with my girlfriend. Oh, I love who's fine. Relationship is in good standings. I don't know why I'm considering ending it just for this girl who. I really don't like much, but she's just has a banging body. How do you know she's into you? Oh, because she keeps on asking me to go to the gym. She keeps on hinting to me that she shaved underneath. Oh. Is that a hint? Yeah, I don't know. It seems to be the kind of thing that's open for open topic for discussion these days. It doesn't seem to exist a few years back where people just talked about, you know, what zodiac sign they had their fashines shaved into at the particular time. I think you would have gotten slapped if you'd discussed that. Like when I was in high school, if you asked about that, now it just seems to be sort of like a tattoo in the sense where you go.

Oh, here's how I got a thing. Either like I don't have a tattoo or I do. Let me show to you or. You know that I sported a full bush until I was about 23. No one fucking pulled me aside and said that no one does this anymore. I by the way, I'm with my mom. I'm. A Tyson. Here's the problem. You have a good relationship. It just started when you were 22 and now you're 28. And if you started it when you were 28, you would have gotten a lot of this off your chest. So to speak, I'm going to say off your chest. I mean out of your nuts sack and on to her chest. But now you walk around with that. Oh, what if what if what if now at a certain point you realize it's all the same and you made the right decision. But it's hard to convince somebody of that when they haven't gone out and lived it a little bit. Dr. Drew backs me up on this one when we say the couples that meet at 22 and get married at 30 for the guy.

He usually has that. Oh, I wanted a couple of those years where I was out. You know, going to the gym, catting about and going to the gym and talking about pubic configurations and other important topics like that. I would sadly say this Tyson and this is going to fly in the face of what a lot of people are thinking right now. If you feel like, I just can't see or I'm interested in other people or one sometime. You either got to do the take a year off or which never really works or you got to just just kind of break it up and break it off and go for it. The problem is is that nagging feeling. It's basically what and let's make a deal. You could take the $500 cash and Monty Hall put in your hand or you could take what was in the box. Solid records for a 28 year old Salt Lake City.

Yeah, well, we slid in with that Dion Warwick song from 1987. And now I'm going to finish it off with a timely. Let's make a deal reference. Thank you. No, you got Larry Tate earlier. That Larry Tate. That's right. The point is this. What's in the box? So you go, here's the $500 back. Show me what's behind the curtain and it's a J sitting standing sitting on a steamroller or a donkey and you go, Oh, and then he goes, it's time to leave and you go, what's in the box? Now, you need to know what's in the box because it could be a shaved bush in the box. It could be another box in the box and it's bugging the shit out of you, which you realize later what's in the box is either another box or nothing. But when it bugs you, then you're fucked up and that's the place you're in now Tyson. So you either realize there's nothing in the box, but air or another box. Or you break up and go find out what's in the box. Yeah, and what if I would have told you about six months ago, I broke it off for exactly what you're saying to kind of fill things out and I missed her and she missed me and then we are again.

All right, six months ago. Well, now you know what did you get to look into any boxes six months ago? I did not actual the box just get on it. I'll feel the box still around the box. I was talking about the genus. I don't sure anymore. All right, either way you did it, you got back together, you can't do it again and you did get back there. Why did you get back together? Missing and doing it, I mentioned the dogs. I sometimes I miss the dogs, but I don't want to tell her I just want to see them. So I kind of end up hanging out with her. Is that fucked up? No, it's honest. It's honest. All right. Tyson, I would say stay with her. You tried it once. You did literally a dry run on the box. What about trying counseling if the two of them want to make it go of it? Crisis 28. You know, the problem, I hear is I speak as a guy. It's not that it's not that there's a problem between the two of them. The problem is, is everyone lives still 85 and every light beer commercial shows a hot dude

parting with a hot strange chick on a rooftop. And that's what we all think we're going to get out of life and that we're going to miss out on if we don't find out what's under that box. But Tyson, you already tried. So, and you live in Salt Lake. And you have dogs. And you have dogs. Yeah, where are you going? All right, let's see. Somebody, Gary, I didn't give you a heads up on this, but I did that catch a contractor show. And so, somebody keeps, I keep getting tweeted that I, I think it was the second episode. I didn't see both of them, but, but, but I, we were all walked out of the bathroom. There must have been the second episode with Avi. And everyone is laughing because they tweeted me because as we're walking on the bathroom, my hand goes back and I flip the light off. And I tell people all the time, I shut the light because it should be shut.

It's not my house. The production is paying for everything. Nobody said to shut it because it was a production thing or anything. I just, in the habit of doing that. And it's become some sort of weird, idiosyncratic behavior for me. But I'm not, I'm cool with it. Like I, I don't, like everyone does the, look at you with all your weirdness. And it's like, I don't think it's weird. I just feel like there's a light that's burning in a room that nobody is in. Why are we, why is it doing that? Cosmically, he never has anything to do with money. It has to do everything with waste. And it drives me insane. And it doesn't, you know, you can leave the light on now. I don't, I don't really give a shit. I just have my hand trained. So when I exit, when I exit rooms, and I'm the last person to walk out of that room, my hand flips the switch down. And it doesn't matter from making a TV show. And they're filming. It's still flip, it's just, it's a reflex.

That's a good, not idiosyncrasies are bad. Some like, like maybe someone who signs every letter sincerely. That's like a little thing, but it's not bad. But it's just how they do it. And I don't even look at his idiosyncratic. It's just, it's more habit. It's a habit of saving fuel, basically. It's energy, not my energy, just the land's energy. I'm not into, I'm not even in the nature. I'm just into not, why should we waste? Have you ever accidentally turned the light off when someone's still in the room? All the time. I'm gonna play these on. My biggest impulse is when I leave a public restroom and there's someone sitting on the toilet to shut the light. I always want to do that. But you don't. Once in a while, I'll flip it on and off real quick. And you'll just getting or something like that, just to fuck around. A lot of times, especially into the hospital, I go to the lights are on sort of a sensor timer motion thing. And if you're sitting there for a while struggling with maybe the effects of chemo therapy, you're not moving too much. And the light might go off on you. And you're like, I've been here too long. Oh, right. Oh, oh, because you haven't moved.

You haven't moved. Right. Yeah. You've been straining. Yeah. You know, like, this is going badly according to the light. It's weird how helpless you can be on a toilet with no light. Oh, especially, especially in hostile waters. I mean, when you're somewhere that is not familiar. Oh, right. A road game. Yeah. Because it was so dark in there. Yeah. When you're in a bathroom at the John Wayne airport or something, and you've had a bloody Mary and you have no fucking idea where you are, that's right. You don't know your way around. Yeah. I'm so glad the word Mary came after bloody me too. Still. Oh, right. Let's talk to Mike real quick like. That is a weird. I don't know if you guys. It's a weird thing. I went to this viewing party for this catch a contractor show on spike. And it's such a cosmic weird thing.

I don't know why, but as a quasi celebrity, you find yourself popping on and popping off of a show like TMZ. But they will. You can talk all you want about your fans or whatever, whatever your Q rating is or whatever it is. But the real measurement is sort of like, do you walk out of the restaurant, walk to your car without that guy chasing you with the camera or don't you? Do you walk out of the club or the whatever it is? And I haven't been on TMZ to the best of my knowledge in a long time because I haven't really been on TV. I haven't really been doing podcasts writing books, but writing books and doing that. And I never, I don't go to crustacean. Yeah, podcasting in books is no way to the top. No, and not, not certainly not on T not on TMZ. It's just good for getting sued. But I don't go to the hip cool, whatever's, but catch contractor came on literally on a, that the TMZ guy was waiting that, that night for me as a, as I walked outside of the, out of the party with a mile bus.

And it was early. Yeah, gave him my, yeah, by the way, they served hard liquor. They said a good house. Interesting choice. Interesting choice. Anyway, I was, I want to know about catch, I think it was catcher predator and I gave my Domino's pizza thought, which I still stick with, by the way. Anyway, we will, we will find that clip. Maybe we won't, we'll see if we can find it. I was a little me over TMZ if you want. And then I have a shaved bush question. Let's see, okay. How are you, sir? Doing very well. I'm Kroll from the Adam Kroll, the show personality. He is a new show, Harvey. It's called to catch a contractor. Is it like to catch a predator? It's, it's the same. Face the bottom. Doing this new show, he gives Austin insight on how to beat Chris Hanson. Call Domino. Get his small cheese pizza delivered. You sit across the street. You watch the pizza being delivered to the house. If Chris Hansen answers the door or you see the Fresno Popo hanging around, you just keep driving.

Oh, this should be the show. To catch, to catch a predator. This is a best show. You've got to file the recross the street. Go with the whole domino thing. I mean, that's what I, I mean, that's what some of my friends, that's what I heard on the internet. Oh, what? They turned their comedy bits into comedy bits. They put music underneath it, they sweeten it up with laughter, they add it in, they whack it up. You'll let these guys follow me around all the time. Anyway, I was out. I was traveling. I was going to, at a nice time, went to Austin, did my stuff. Went out and had dinner with Kimmel and his beautiful wife and some other folks on, I'm laughing about my friend Daniel because do you guys know the uncomfortable guy, like the guy who has a couple of cocktails and has to go to that slightly uncomfortable place all the time.

Yes, conversationally. Yes. Was it Grabby Wives' tip? Yeah. Okay. Yeah, the guy, that guy. Yeah. You know what I mean? He's a sweet guy, he's a nice guy, but he has a couple of cocktails and it always starts to drift into some area. Yeah, we're like, uh, do we have to get into this kind of kind of thing all the time guy? What happened this most recent time? Daniel's the swanly guys at this and it might spend my life trying to avoid these kinds of conversations. Yes, how you were feeling? He was me and him. I'm sitting next to Jimmy. He's sitting in front of Jimmy and somehow, you know, he brings up Jay Leno and then of course, you know, you go out and hang out with Jay and Jay's cars and you guys hang out and you see his cars and stuff like that. Does he ever bring up Jimmy? Do you guys talk about Jimmy? No, we don't, do we talk about family?

No, we just, it's just cars. I like cars. Jay loves cars. So once every six weeks, there's something to do with cars. I run into them with cars. So you never talk about Jimmy. It's like, all right, he goes, it's kind of thing at the time you're on your heels and you're just answering the questions, you know, like no, we don't, we don't talk about Jimmy. I mean, not that we don't like Jimmy. I mean, I'm sure he says, say hi to Jimmy, but it's car talks is car. And as an ask about the family or the kids or anything like that or anybody in your life. No, we just, we talk about cars. He then starts veering, changing topics into this very pretty girl named Aaron, who worked for us and now works for Jimmy, who had a crush on me back in the day when we worked on the man show. And he just sort of seamlessly steers it over. Aaron, I remember those days, he had a good, get a crush on him. And she's cute. I liked her too, but I was with somebody and it's just, you know, didn't work out. And he had to start steering.

And that's our thing where you get back to your hotel room and you're getting undressed and you're sifting through the conversation, you go, you snap the pencil. Like, what the fuck was that? Why? I spent 22 minutes of that dinner like going, oh, no, hey, no, we taught Aaron. Yeah, sure. No, I was, I mean, yeah, well, obviously you're attractive. Like there's nothing overtly awful, but you get back and you're like, I, that felt so uncomfortable. Why the fuck were we talking about these? I know you had a couple of fucking daquaries and that's why we were talking about it. But what's, what's in it for you other than me to be sort of retroactively pissed off? That's what I was going to say. What, of all the things to be talked about, all the topics on earth, what's to be gained from that one? You want to know what is? Mm-hmm. Power. You're sort of, well, I know I don't need that. I think you are saying good. But you are in an internal control in that moment because you sort of become the judge. And no one ever says, oh, shut the fuck up. They just go, oh, what?

No, I, what, you get a little, you get a little defensive. Right. Well, it's like that, like we were talking about about goat fucking earlier. Right. You want to act cool because you feel like if you overreact, that's a tell. Right. That is a tell. I just realized that person, they're usually nice, usually like them. It's just a couple of drinks and it always, it always drifts just a little bit into something where you go. Has your balance. I was going to shut up about that thing. I was just going to say, is that a boundary issue or do they know what they're doing? Or do they know what they're doing? Well, first off, five of a friend who doesn't know what he's doing does the same thing, but I don't think it's out of a place of. It's a little booze oriented. Well, it's not power like in a, you know, Fidel Castro sort of way. That's a great idea. But it's like, I am controlling your feelings. I'm sort of making you feel. It's the same guy, by the way, when we'd be working on the man show and to be seven o'clock

at night and I was doing love line at 10 o'clock at night and I just get up from my desk and I'd go, all right, I'm going to go home, eat dinner, take a nap, skip my rope, and then I'm going to go do love line as I was getting up. He'd go, buddy, we're all eating at our desks. I'm going to go, listen, your wife's in New York. You're going to get divorced in four and a half years, although you don't know it yet. Spoiler alert. Yeah, and you're living in a bungalow in Santa Monica that you rent and there's nothing in it. So you want to eat, you want to hang here and eat free sushi. I don't, but don't do this thing. We have to make me feel just a little bit. Well, I don't want to stay for it. I don't know how to make me feel just a little bit shitty about what I'm doing. You know what I mean? Just a little, here's a little, here's a parting gift. I, I shit in the box, put a ball on it. Take that with you. Just a little parting gift. Not a, hey, you must stay and not a your fuck you or any of that. Just, oh, we're all hanging out.

You're leaving? Okay. It's the guy who says it in the corporate world. A half day today, huh? You're leaving like six or six there. Right. No, half day. That guy. Pass the press in. Pass the press in. Yeah. That person. All right. Let's celebrate. Let's talk about bigger and better things. Dawson. Yeah, boss, what's happening? Turn 40 today. Yeah, dude. That is exciting. Happy birthday. Thank you. 40. I love it. What'd you do? What'd you do to celebrate? Did you do anything good today? Yeah, I went to voice over auditions and I made a car commercial. Mm-hmm. No. Nothing special. Do you have an achievement day that you'd like to focus on? Achievement. What do you mean achievement day? I'd said, you know, the birthdays, everyone has a birthday. You know? Yeah. Chuck Manson celebrated, you know, 41 birthdays since he's been incarcerated. I like the day. I was 100 days sober. That day. Yeah, no, I don't know. I don't want to know. All right, well, they got you a cake.

Are you serious? Yeah. That's right. You got an avocado on it. There's a avocado on it. That's super awesome. That's right. You guys are ridiculous. That's badass. Thank you. Oh, there. This staff is a chick-ask in their sentimentality. Thank you. They said it was a birthday. I said, move it on. And I said, no, we should get my cake. It's even chocolate. That's what I told them. Wow. Because I don't like vanilla. Yeah, good job. Yeah. Happy birthday, buddy. Thank you, boss. Many, many more. You're greatly appreciated. All right. Let's take a break. I'll tell you this. Rodano Beach Performing Arts Center on Thursday, March 27th, man. So. Legal Defense Fund benefit. Kimmel's going to be there. Dr. Drew, Kevin and Bean, Mark Marin. Andy Summers from the police. Doug Benson's going to be there. You're truly, we're going to raise a bunch of money. We're going to have a great night out. I mean, remember, ball brine benefit? That was good times. It was going to dwarf that. That she'll dwarf it. Well, I don't think we're going to dwarf it. But if we come close, that would be a big thing.

That would be nice. Yeah. All right, Tim Draper is waiting out there. He's got a ballot initiative. And let's turn California into six separate states. I'm very intrigued. We'll bring him in. Yeah. Let's check Adam's voicemail. Brought to you by Evois. Hey, man, big fan. Get it on. I noticed that you guys played a Germany or Florida today. And I've been listening to you since years ago on Love Line. And I just thought you guys needed to get the theme song back. So I remember you guys would always play or Anderson would always play the theme song. And I'm not talking about the pink or the Andy Dick theme song, but the actual theme song that the listener left, which was things are so different. Things are sticking twisted from too much sun and not these. That's my tend to fetishes. Both of them have got these. Care to not to bore you. Germany or Florida. Get Evois. Keep your clients and your life. Try Evois right now for free.

All you have to do is go to AdamCarola.com and click on the Evois banner. Yeah. I forgot about that song. I don't even remember it down to Bob Ryan. Yeah, that was one of the cost-pronear love lines. Some kid called in and just sang a little song over the phone. It sort of became our de facto theme song for Dream of the Year. Tim Draper is here. Tim, I think it doesn't like the Brian, but I'll brag for him. NBA from Harvard Business School and BA in electrical engineering from Stanford. Smart dude and Tim would like to take California and break it off in a six-separate state. So tell us how that works. Well, so California is like a monopoly. It's like where you get bad services like your cable guy. You get bad service and they charge you whatever they want. Yes. And that's what we've got. And I think California 40 years ago was awesome. Sure. We were best in education. We had great infrastructure. We had low recidivism, low unemployment.

Now we are the worst run state in the union. And according to 24-7 in Huffington Post, California is 50th out of 50 in how badly it's been managed. Right. So because we have an ocean and it's topography. Well, and it's a beautiful place. That's why we all love being here. And we're stuck with one choice. I agree with you. I'm just going to have Sam and cable Sam and cable or whatever the fuck it was when I live in La Crosse. And they sucked. And I would say to them all the time, you guys don't have HBO and you don't have Playboy and you don't have ESPN. You don't have anything. And yet you charge $18 to same as the other station, the other cable where I used to live in Studio City. Charge is $18. But they have all this stuff. What? And I'd say to them, well, if you're going to be subpar, fine. Charge $12. But there's like, now that's what we charge.

Yeah. Now they don't because they have satellite TV. Just look how cable has gotten their shit together over the last few years. Well, cables now got some competition. Right. So now if you had six California's, we could choose which state we would want to be a part of. And having that choice makes a big difference. And all of a sudden they have to perform. They have to be more transparent. They have to be more accountable to us. Yeah. The counties can self assemble into these states. And that can make a big impact on us. Why is California such a pile of shit? I've said it all the time. Like, why do we run this state so horribly? Well, you know, it's really interesting. Because we've got brilliant people that have run California. It's just ungovernable. It's the idea that we're that people in Sacramento are deciding what people in Petaluma are supposed to do with their milk money and the people in, I don't know, San Bernardino are supposed to do with.

But is it just the size that makes it unmanageable? I mean, like, because there are other big states that don't seem to have these problems, right? Well, there's actually only most big states are the worst run. They're the ones at the bottom. Texas is an exception. Remarkably, Texas, they only show up the assembly in the Senate, only show up for a short period of time every two years. Here, they're year round. So they get very creative on, hey, maybe we should ban that water bottle. Yeah, let's focus on e-cigarettes. Because meanwhile, everyone's planted and stuck on the 405. It's a fucking parking lot. But let's focus on e-cigarettes. Thanks. And all the good manufacturing jobs are leaving. They grow to Texas and Tennessee and wherever. Of course. And it's because we just, we don't have any competition in government. You know, when there is competition, everybody performs better. You get better service for lower prices.

And everybody's better off. I don't get the competition part and why we attempt to sweep that under the carpet when it's the only thing that motivates anyone for any reason at any time while you're alive. We try to throw it away when it comes to education. We try to throw it away when it comes to manufacturing and business. We try to throw it away for everything. And yet it's the only thing. We're trying to use the word choice so that people think in terms of, I want to choose. I want to choose what I wear. I want to choose what I eat. I want to choose the car I drive. All those decisions. By the way, nice car collection out there. Thank you. Or horrific. So I think competition is somehow competition is what we've got going in the US. I mean, that's what's beautiful about the US is that we allow competition and we force competition. But when a company gets to be a monopoly, we break it up like mobbell. It turned into something weird at a certain point.

And it was part of because I remember this because I grew up in California. And I there was a sort of a hippie movement that my mom was a part of back in the day where competition was sort of frowned on. It was sort of like, you know, don't we don't need to have a winner. We don't need to raise somebody's hand and make and shame everybody else. And we should stop this. And we started focusing on competition as if it was a bad thing. And it's not a bad thing or a good thing. It's simply what motivates people. I think it was harder for your mother to watch when you lost than it was for you to lose. Well, she wasn't there. She was ripping a ball and load in a retain chair in the back for fucking moms, a shit box in North Hollywood. Not that I have feelings about it. Or at least once I haven't worked out through extensive therapy. No, what my mom, my mom, if there was a competition,

she would have been nowhere near the fucking podium. And if you notice the people that want to get away from the competition are people that don't do so well. Yeah, like the people, whether it's boxing or business, when you're fucking good, you go, fuck yeah, bring on the Golden Gloves. I'm ready to go or ring that bell. Let's start the Wall Street and fire it up, you know. When you're not so good at the competition, that's when you don't want it. And or a politician, who never really needs to involve themselves in the competition. Well, politicians do go into competition with one another. But not out here. But we just annoying people and they stay there for 40 years. Even if you lose the competition, the fact that there's a competition makes all of us better off. And it gives us more choices. And we really need more choices. We need a government that is much more efficient, runs a much better education system. Our education system, we're 46. We spend the most and we're 46 in education. I went to the LA Unified School District.

That's how that's how that's how that's 60. Okay. Okay. Well, they included included Guam, I think. Yeah, I think Puerto Rico Guam wasn't in there when I was coming up. Yeah, 42. Okay. The amount we spend per kid versus what we're getting is a nightmare. It's a crime. And you know, my kids are now adults and they're all deciding to settle in California because the weather is so good and everything. And I'm saying, oh my gosh, this is horrible. But imagine if it was a business. This is the worst state and it's getting worse. You know, when you're 50 at that of 50, you think there's nowhere to go but up? No. You could actually, it could actually get much, much worse. I'm with you and I don't know. Now, how did we manage in something like education to get this far behind? It's weird because we were number one in education. About 40 years ago, California was the top of the top, best education system in the world.

And somehow we've let that slide down to 46. And I think it's because we only have one choice. Right. We're stuck with our choice, whatever it is because we like living here because it's nice weather. And I guess the ivory tower knows it. Oh yeah. And they make whatever determination they make. Well, that's why they're not in, they're not down with vouchers. They're not down with choice. I mean, of course, competition, it brings out the best. And everyone, look, it's first off, there would be no Muhammad Ali without the George Foreman's and the Joe Frazier's of the world. I mean, that's what brings it out. Number two, losing isn't that bad as long as you've tried. I mean, people turn it into something that's supposed to be demoralizing. It's really not. We've all played sports. We've all lost. We've all been told, you know, hey, 24-year-old Adam Corolla, you're not groundlings material.

Move on. Like, I went, okay, I'm moving on, but I shall fight again. And that's okay. We've all been in relationships. And people leave us. It's, there's a, everybody needs that. You build up a little calis, a little resiliency, little calluses on your feet, and you can walk barefoot without squealing like a stuck pig. That's fine. And there is a competition among states. People are leaving California. We're 50th out of 50. Good people, good jobs are all leaving California. We've got, I mean, here in LA, people are, people are losing jobs because movies are being produced in other states. Shouldn't we be a little nervous about that? Shouldn't we be panicking and saying, how do we make this better? Well, I think these are the very people that don't want the competition that you speak of that are hopping on a plane and moving the whole production to New Mexico or Vancouver, where have you. So, let me take you to the happy place.

Let's go. Okay, let's say we've got six new states. What would that state look like? First of all, your state would get rid of patent trolling. Thank you. Okay. But there are plenty of other states out there, plenty of other things out there, where if you looked and said, okay, here's a plot of land that is what is California. There are 38 million people here. If you were going to create that from scratch, you would not create what we have in Sacramento. Right. That would not be anywhere near your thinking. But what might happen is you might say, hey, okay, we've got six states. Let's do some crowdsourcing. Let's figure out what we want our, you know, everything from the state bird and the flag and the Constitution and how we're going to manage our lives. It can all be done with a fresh start. Now, a fresh start means, hey, you can start with electronic voting. My gosh, you know, I have to get 808,000 signatures.

So, anyway, if anybody out there sees one of these people on the street looking for to sign a petition and the petition has a blue check mark on it, go sign it. We need, we need 808,000 signatures. And so go out there and sign the petition. Dfj, not G, dfj.com is where you can go for more information. Oh, no, sorry. Go to six. Go to six, California's dot info. If you want to go venture capital, I got to go to DFJ. Oh, okay. Well, either way. Yeah. Well, you know, it might be good. You know, I'd like to make it a one-stop shop. My partners would not. Is that six spelled out or? I think it's a six. California's dot info. But why? We need you to sign petitions right now. I'll sign a piece of toilet paper at this point because I've lived here my entire life. I see the place turning into a dump. I tell people all the time it's turning into a dump. No one will fucking listen to me.

And I say just look around, look at the education system. See you, see you, go. Wait a minute, you guys. I have a family. You're on. I'm with children and then have fun finding a public school near where you live. And that sounds fun. Have the decision that, oh, well, am I going to have to pick up and move somewhere so that I can have a school? And by the way, there are not too many places, but you can go to a couple of places. I mean, there's one school. The kids don't go there anymore. But there's a school carpenter on off of Venter and St. of City over there. There's thousands of exer kids. There's families buying up apartment rooms and P.O. boxes and everything. Just to say they live in the district. They have these huge meetings where everyone gathers and they go, look, we're going to thin the herd. We know a lot of you people don't live here. In a place that charges the kind of taxes that Los Angeles and California charge. The fact that if you live in Van Aes or Sherman Oaks or if you lived in Recita or even somewhere in Hollywood,

the kind of taxes you pay in Hollywood that you would have to buy a condominium so that you could gerrymandor this thing. So your kid could go to a grade school that was just decent is insane and shows that whoever's running the system is either corrupt or an apt or crammed apt. Which is both, which I assume there are just both. I think there's a crannoped. I think the crannoped people are not really crannoped. They just are doing their job and doing and sort of marching it right off the cliff. So every time, well, first of all, to finish on my petition thing, we can't even use electronic signatures. We have to use a sheet of paper that's 14 by 17, which is everybody's standard sheet. In the greatest state in the union, you can't. And we're going to come out of tree. We can't use electronic signatures.

Why not? Apparently the way they wrote the law, it went to court. The way they wrote the law was that you have to attach your signature to the petition. And they used the attach word and they felt like a touch was a physical attachment rather than so here. Anyway, so they they wanted on some strange thing. But look, every time you're stuck in traffic, every time you're mad at your bad education system, every time you are not getting your water, every time think six California's. Why six? Why not four? Well, six allows more competition. It allows us constituents to go to another state if we're really upset with our government. So, so that if it's, I mean, if it's less, they still have a pretty good chance to be a monopoly. If it's like two, you've got two monopolies.

If it's three, maybe you've got a little competition with four, maybe a little better. But with six, it's, it feels like, look, there are other choices. So you government, we're watching, you better really perform. We want the best for us. Now, we the people, this is a democracy and we've been complacent here in the US, in California. We've been complacent. We've let our government get bad. It used to be great. We've let it get bad. Now we've got to do something. Can I make this suggestion? I don't eat all six, but in, in Corolla, Berg, I would suggest that would be one of the places. By the way, you can name it whatever you want. That's what I'm talking about. We've got artists for the more names there. Yeah. And I would start at Hersh Castle, where I will obviously take up residency. Just, I'll just head down the coast. Do you like the coast? Just to Jennifer Aniston's house. Just pass that. And then I stop. And that'll be my sort of, you know, do you want the mountains to?

Okay. Yeah. How about you? Do you want the farms to, you know what? No, let the farmers have their land. Okay. The proud. You know, but I'll just take that stretch of post from, yeah, San Simeon over there, wherever her castle is. And then down to Aniston's house, maybe in Malibu. Oh, let's, let's take it down to Johnny Carson's old place down there by the pier. And then that'll be my little stretch. And don't you worry. You know, you, it actually could happen with this initiative because we, we are allowing, we are allowing every, every county, the ability to, if they feel that they are in the wrong state, because we've are arbitrarily chosen these states, these state lines, any county can then choose the state that is better for them. So those states have to compete not just for you as constituents, but counties. Well, and you can choose the state name. I've always, but you got a crowd source.

It's so you guys, you know, you're going to have to just pound the radio saying we need six California's and we need to name it. The, what is the Corolla, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the work. I've always said this and I, and I think you'll, you'll get behind me on this. For years, I've said, you know, this is the problem, but it, it, it sounds like a joke, but it's not really a little microcosm, what you're talking about. You know, Hawaiian gardens is a piece of shit, but when you live in Pittsburgh, you're thinking of moving out to LA and someone says you want to live in Hawaiian gardens, it sounds pretty good. It sounds like a panorama city's piece of shit, but it sounds like it's pretty good. Sun Valley's polish yet, but it also sounds like a pretty good place to live. And the list goes on and on as a, as a matter of fact, it's the ones that are nicer, like in Sino and Sherman, Oaks, that don't mean anything. And if someone gave you a choice, you want to live in Hawaiian gardens or in in Sino, you'd go Hawaiian gardens ten times. I've always said they should just give all the cities numbers and let them fight it out, meaning, hey, if you're Hawaiian gardens, you're not Hawaiian gardens, you're 257.

You want to get up, you want to crack the 100s, you want to get into double digits, start busting your ass. Oh, that's right. Oh, so you create, create performance, man. Let's see his number one. Let's see who cracks the top 10. It'd be hard to meet up with your friend, but it would help everyone. Right. And real estate prices would follow in step with that. And also for the guy who was moving from Beaver Falls out, and I don't know why he'd ever leave Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, but you're moving out to California. You're no longer getting suckered into Hawaiian gardens. You're getting 268. You're like, what? Oh, no. Thousand Oaks and 29 palms that to switch names. Right. I like that. I like that ranking. I actually think that that would be, that in effect, that's going to happen. It's starting to happen, and there is real ranking, and California is 50th out of 50. So there is a real ranking of 50th. We're the biggest state in the union, and we are 50th. Even if these six states end up being, I mean, I think they're going to be the top six states in the nation.

I absolutely think it needed. Even if their average states were all way better off. All right. Alson Rosen, let's do a little news. Tim, hang out. Crack wise. Have fun, and we'll get through a little news here. The news with Alisson Rosen. She reads some news from her iPad. Sometimes it's good. Sometimes it's bad. It's Alisson. Alisson. And when it's time to wrap it up, she'll sign it off with Zippie Cuckett. It's Alisson. It's my fiend video. Alisson. My fiend video. We're going to have to update that one, I suppose. No, it's like Conan O'Brien doing the year 2000. Many years after the year 2000. Yes. That'll be forever. Okay. So deadly building explosion in East Harlem once in the morning. The whole as of now, they're saying is three, although I'm also reading two. But a lot of people have been injured as well as a gas leak. So two structures, a five-story apartment building with a Latino evangelical church on the first floor.

And then a neighbor in piano store and the four floors above it collapsed as the blast dripled through the neighborhood. And yeah, authorities suspect the explosion was the result of a gas leak. It was only reported about 15 minutes before the explosion. How does it feel when your church explodes? You know what I mean? Realized to God's stuff too, an electric terrorist attack. Apparently people initially thought it was a terror attack though. Yeah, but this isn't drunk driver, emergency brake, doesn't set it on the car, goes rolling. And this is just explosion, fire in the church. Either way, sad and at least they didn't do the thing where they do, you know, they do, they go, well, two bodies, but that number could climb into the night. At least two dead. Really? Okay, understood. We know you're not going to deduct the corpse if that's what you're talking about. Good news, correct, I heard a report. And by the way, if you say two bodies, and at some point tomorrow morning I find out there's five, I'm not going to sue the station.

I'll assume you found somebody else under some rubble. Well, our thoughts go out to the families that lost those two. That's right. And we're going to be able to see people in our prayers. Both of us. Both our thoughts and prayers. All right, so because I know you guys missed me and missed this kind of story, I thought I would share with you something that is hard hitting and important. It's something you can take home. Here's how to poop different colors. In case you've been wondering, it's actually titled how to poop a rainbow. But then it's, worst children can't care for. You'd be a really weird meal. Yeah, that is so useful. Well, it's so fun to think about. Well, it's hard to, you know, you wouldn't want to tweet that stuff out. I mean, you wouldn't. It would be kind of interesting. Yeah, I don't think you'd want to like say, I mean, people don't really like looking at those photos. Well, for every hundred people that don't like it, there's one guy who really likes it enough for the hundred.

It makes up for it. It makes up for the hundred. Okay, I'm saying. I'm saying, I'm dying to know how you get different colors. Me too. All right, well, let's say you want to add something green in there. Spinach. We'll turn it green. If you're going to give me a list of food that are the color that they were when they started, this is going to get boring fast. Beats make it red. Okay, this is going to get boring fast. Blueberries make it purple. All right, fine. You've read this. I take it. No, I'm not. Beats make it purple. Black. Guinness apparently. Oh, okay. All right. So it's interesting. How about that? How about white? Yeah. That's not in here. Or in the rainbow, really. You can't quite get a sheet of hand full of yeast. Next story, come back. Next story, come back. Orange, flaming hot cheetos. See? I'll tell you, I love your show. I'll just throw up in my mouth. Pink, Frank and Barry cereal. All right. Oh, interesting. All right, fine. Since you love the show, I'm going to ask the question that I wanted to ask before Adam. Earlier when we were talking about...

You might get a still love the show. Mm-hmm. We'll find out in a moment, won't we? Earlier when we were talking about shaved bushes and whatnot. Mm-hmm. And I was saying that I didn't even realize this was an option until about 23. I feel like you were about to say you have no problem with the full 70s bush. Is that where you're headed? I'll tell you where I'm headed. Vaginally. Do you still love the show? I'm going to probably stay out of it. It's my plan for everybody and all the alterations that they would like to do on themselves, cosmetically, you know, visually, physically, is to not let other people know and not to give the appearance that you've altered your look. If you get a nose job and I can tell you how to nose job, then it's a bad nose job. If you're wearing a toupee and I can tell you're wearing a toupee, then it's a bad toupee. A good toupee? We're not having a conversation? I don't know that you're wearing a toupee. So for me, when it comes to almost anything you do, spray tan.

If it looks like you're just sun-kissed, then it looks great. If it looks like you're dipped in hot cheeto powder, dukey, then it's distracting. And I think we feel the same way about teeth that are too straight and too white and eyebrows that have been plucked down to their last hair. Just that very natural look. Now, the problem is, is there's a fair bit of cutting, trimming, and waxing to get to that natural look. There's a lot of lasering to get to the natural look. But to me, that's the people that have it all is almost like, you know, the guys that look like they have a great physique, but don't look like they live in the gym. There's something better than that than the guy looks like he's all roided out and never spends three hours in the gym every day. Just the people that look like God, you got a great set of choppers. You don't even have the no braces, no whitening, no, no, they just that look that's just... Because we're attracted to that, because as a species, that's what we're attracted.

You know, it's genetics. Like we want that symmetry genetically. If we find out that was from a scalpel or a surgeon or whatever, you're taking testosterone supplements or something, it screws us up a little bit. So as animals, we want that bush to look unregulated. But yet, have that shape, because the reality is, if you're never going to touch it, it's going to be, you know, ivy growing over the wall. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, and down your legs sometimes. So just enough to have the natural look. But I think it's the same. It's like when a woman has hair with a little bit of blonde in it. I don't want to see sharp blonde streaks. I went that sort of... Oh, I played a lot of beach volleyball, did you? I was on a kiss by the sun. I don't want chunky bush highlights. That's right. I don't want them. Because Brian is in love with Matthew McConaughey. And I think a lot of us aren't you? I admire his performance in the last movie, but I... You are. Okay, just for the second story, I'm very much in love with him.

A Gokker had a video of him on strombalopolis. In 2000, I think I'm pronouncing the guy's name right. He's an interviewer in 2011 explaining where the... Where when his catchphrases came from. So I thought to play a clip of that. So when we go up to the set, I get in the car, and I'm like, I'm nervous. First scene ever on film. And right before about to shoot, I've got friends in the car I'm going. I've been listening to this live, more live doors out. And there's this... And in between two of the songs, motion goes, All right, all right, all right, all right. You ever heard that recording? Of course. Right? The floor. All right, all right, all right. So right before about to go, I'm like, What is Wooderson? What is Wooderson about? What's he about? And I go, man, he's about four things. He's about, you know, his car. He's about getting high. He's about rocking roll and picking up chicks. And I go, I'm in my car. I'm high as a kite.

I'm listening to rocking roll. Action. And there's the chick. All right, all right, all right, all right. That's a movie. We got it for. That's fantastic. Who's a guy is talking to? And who is the dude who gets the two hoop in the one ear right next to each other? I hate that guy more than the single stud guy. I don't appreciate any of the earring guys. But the two hoops right next to each other, same ear. What is that? What is that? To the, to the visual to ear. And, but why? Like, what is that? What is that getting you? You do the one who, they need to go. But do you have the same time? I, I don't know. It's like, I, I, I, I, that is George Stromblopoulos again. I may not be saying his name correctly. He's a Canadian radio personality. And then he was given a show on CNN. I don't know if he's still, if that show is still on or not. But this given that this was from 2011, would not have been from the CNN show. So maybe this must have been his show in Canada.

So again, it's like, look, if I ever go fly fishing, I got to up the danger times two by putting two hoops in my right ear. Right here. You have a, you have a lure. Yeah, an earring and a lure. We have something to get caught on. That's for sure. And the river goes to it. That's great attention to detail to spot that. I drive, when you're going through that. When I see the dudes with the two, it's, it's weird. I see the guy with the two earrings. I mean, I'm bothered by almost everything. But the two hoops next to each other because they move around. Like when the person is agreeing or nodding or talking or shaking their head, they just kind of, and all they do on it on both sides. I'm like a large mouth bass. Yeah, I got it. It just, it sucks me over to their ear. And then I find myself thinking about their ear and then I get angry. Now, what about if they have, I don't know, what if they have an earring in each ear? I don't imagine.

Well, first off, you're a chick. Ever just went, I got to blow that guy because of those two metal hoops that are through his ears. I kind of had the opposite thought. That's what I have. I don't think it gets you anywhere. And what it does for me, and it ends up, I end up doing some sort of sexual proclivity call, where I'm like, is that gay? Is that double gay? Well, why is it gay? Is he gay? Is that two hoops gay? What does that mean anymore? It used to mean something. That's your, just don't know what it gets you. And I know people do the thing where they go, oh man, I'm just expressing myself. I just got back from Austin. Almost every human being I saw had a tattoo. Like literally every human, I was, I was the wild rebel outsider because I had no tattoos. Watch out, ladies. I'm coming to your town. What the hell? Lock up your ladies. What the hell? You know I may have no tattoos. Yes. I'm a potential entrepreneur for a living. And I'm looking for, when people are dressed the way everyone else is,

whenever they are, hipster, whatever, whenever they're trying to be trendy, that tends to be a bad negative sign. Right. When I look for an entrepreneur, I look for somebody who is an individual who is very comfortable in their skin. Right. Because when you're looking for someone to be an innovator, you don't want someone to be a follower of trends. Right. Now, if they're the first guy with a bone through their skull, you know, I take another look. Sure. But if it's something that other people have already done, yeah, I look and I say, well, they're trying to be something that they're trying to follow another trend. And we really need people who are... Uncylush. Yeah. Leaders, heroes. No, but it is. That's what we look for. It's true that you do a... You're sort of a... I was... You profile.

You do a quick profile. And you learn a lot. I was in... When I was going through LAX yesterday, day before I was going out to Austin, I was just looking at this dude. And he was at a very close haircut. And he was sort of big in the upper body and sort of very well put together, but not a muscle head. Tall, looked to be in great shape. Had his name on his... On his satchel. It wasn't a military thing, but it was his name was on there. And he said to me, when we're going through security, he said, hey, man, really, really dig your work, Ace Man. And I said, thank you for your service. And he said, how did you know I was in the military? And I said, I've been watching you. And he said, what's that mean? And I said, I'm wearing a security line. And I'm five people behind you. And I'm just sort of watching the way you handle yourself. Fucking creep. And the way your posture is and your haircut

and your... You're sort of upper body. And the way you're walking through this line. And by the way, somebody got shot in this line. Right? The line I was in, someone got shot there, you know, three months ago. That's right. And actually my daughter was there at the airport and saw the shooting. Wow. And her boyfriend said, drop everything and run. And thank God they did. So she was actually at LAX. She was right there, saw the shooting and ran right out, right outside. And it was... How far away was it from where she was? Oh, I think she said something like 50 feet. Wow. Yeah. So her boyfriend saw where her what was going on. Well, they heard the shots. They looked over. They saw a gun and they ran. Never gonna happen. Corolla Burke, by the way. Yeah. Right. But I told this dude. I said, he kept saying so. He didn't keep... We didn't talk for any time. But he said, how did you know I was in the military? I said, I was profiling you.

And he said, wow. And I said, hey, listen, man. Someone was shooting here three months ago. And if the shit goes down, I'm... I'm getting right behind you. I'm getting right behind you. And he's like, all right. But that's what I was doing. And that's what you do when some guy comes in. And he's got the hipster glasses and the stupid tattoo and the double earrings. And he says, I'm an entrepreneur. And I'm a visionary in your think. Because I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur. Instead of some guy who you say, well, what are you gonna do? Oh, I'm gonna change the way everybody makes headphones. Or I'm gonna change the way everybody makes hats. Or whatever. New kinds of shoes or whatever. When we look for entrepreneurs, they've got to be... It's got to be breaking out of their hearts. It's got to just be like, oh, this is so great what I'm doing. And they've got to be willing to be completely embarrassed and ready to do it under any circumstances. As opposed to somebody who's very careful

and did their hair just right. No, just self. Put it in a tattoo that says entrepreneur or bust. Put it in two earrings on each side of the door. The hoops. I don't know why the hoops bother you. If you were the first guy with a tattoo. Fine. I might have been all over funding you. But if you are the 528,000 from California, I think twice. It was awesome. It was one big cool beard earring frame tattoo fast. That's all it was. All right, let's do one more story, shall we? Former Glendale Mayor John Drainin pleaded guilty Wednesday to one felony count, each of embezzlement, filing a false tax return and perjury. So he was on the City Council from 2007 to 2011. He embezzled 304,853. Although I read another article that said it could be closer to 900,000. So a lot. From a weekly farmers market.

Wow. Between January 1st, 2004 and April 30, 2011. How do you do that? Well, it doesn't say how that's what I'm wanting to do. Well, he served as director of the Montrose Shopping Park Association. What the hell? It was the embezzlement was discovered in May of 2011. And the Glendale Police Department and the Franchise Tax Board launched an investigation. He'll be sentenced to one year in County Jail with five years probation and will be ordered to repay the stolen money, along with $14,000 and $16 to the California Franchise Tax. He returns to court April 7th for sentencing. Before this, there was a plea deal that was reached. And I think the judge said, no, like there's no way that someone in this position of public trust should be offered a no jail sentence term. Yeah. Did I get that right? It's an additional $14. He stole 900,000 dollars and it's $14. No, $14,000. Okay. So he's knocking on the door of a million bucks down at the farmers market. Who knew they were so profitable?

Yeah. Where is it coming from? Is he skimming off the top of the little cash box that someone gives you for buying berries? I don't know. I'm scared to go to farmers markets. I was just that one on Saturday. I feel like, well, first I'm scared I'm going to get run over by an old person. That's real risk. That's real risk. It goes down. But number two, I put the farmers market up there with the bed and breakfast, which it sounds awesome. Yeah. Really not so good once you get there. Okay. I think I had a really good time with the farmers market. I think I got the right time to go to the market. Yeah. Look at that. Arugula. Oh, beats coming gold too. Well, there you go. I think you have to really like fresh produce. You really got to be into it and. And so homemade soap. I have never. I look. It's not like I go to the supermarket and go, what the fuck is wrong with this mile of produce? Like I just go, here's the supermarket. I think there's some Arugula go grab some, put in your basket and leave. I think the farmers market people are people who love the idea of a farmers market.

Like the idea of a picnic. But it is kind of a scrapped Saturday. I mean, you got it. You know, is that move? Or is it like get up early? We got to get up early. We got to get out there. They'll be out of the white corn if we don't get out there early. We got to get out there early. We picked over. Number one. And then four and a half hours later, you walk through your front door and you got a bag of fucking shit to groan. A dirt. Who gives a fuck? You know what I mean? I mean, I mean, the same shit. You could have got it the safe way or the Albertsons up the street. It just feels like you're doing something. And there is no way you're getting in and out of one of those stands without striking up a conversation with a lesbian. There's no way. That's impossible. That's impossible. Yeah, she offered us homemade deodorant that you rub under your armpits. Like on your finger. On your finger. How do you apply it? I'll just dip in there and rub it on yourself. Yeah. And it's a lot of this. A lot of this. We got a sample. This just cheese is nut base. There's no dairy in it. What's in your life? We got nut base granola. You're starting to roll your eyes.

You can't tell the difference between that and provolone age. Probably not. Listen, sweetie. I'll bet you your Subaru outback that I can tell the difference between the fucking stuff that's made of crushed walnut and the stuff that's down at the Italian dally. Three doors down. No, you know, then there's a lot of conversation. It's also a place of bullshit, unbridled bullshit. A lot of people taking sample. Oh, there you go. Wow, did you do this nut cheese yourself? Because this is. Sweetie, have a. Oh, yeah. You know, it praises uttered very often along those lines. We're off to remember this place. Yeah, after remember to come back. A lot of this. We're going to hit you on the, because I'm going to buy metric ton of this fucking nut cheese. And I don't want to slip it all the way up. Yeah, I'm coming back. Yeah, don't run out, sweetie. Don't go anywhere, because I'm going to dump. Then we get the end. You got to tell the wife. All right, let's go. Look, there's a sewer grate. We can crawl through it and pop up on the other side and get back to the fucking car. Stop it, next time.

Freedom is raining. I'm sorry. I'm never going to be able to go through one of those far first markets again. I pulled my way up like John Goodman. Pull this putty up. I'm raising Arizona. I'm raising Arizona. I'm raising Arizona. Ah! Yeah. All right, bring it on. That's the news. I'm Allison Rosenzibit. You know that I sported a full bush until I was about 23. That was the news with Allison Rosen. All right, Allison Rosen, baby, your new best friend. New show is available. This week Daniel quants is it? Yep, my favorite. My Founta Daniel. Alster Rosen, ballbrine, say it. Mahalo. I'm squatting on Cunt. All right, that's Adam Kroelso, 1280. Coming up next, we have Adam Kroelso, 2694. Peter and Gina Grad, Brian Bishop. This one's from 2019. It's the 187th installment of the Rod Tomatoes game. It's themed around Christian Vale. Hope you guys enjoy.

Give me the rock, tomatoes game. Now it's time to play. So last week's game featured Matt Damon, one of the leads in the new Ford V Ferrari movie. Now it seems only fair that this week we highlight the film's other star, Welsh Hero, Christian Vale. It's not a good. Here's an idea. Now let's make Batman dark and gritty. Sure, it sounded nuts at the time, but looking back, it's hard to deny the powerhouse combo of Christian Vale, Liam Neeson, Michael Cain, Morgan Freeman, and Gary Oldman, directed by Christopher Nolan. It's the Batman origin story. You hear that nerds? It's an origin story. 2005's Batman Begins. Stop nerds planning. All right. Wait a minute. Right. This is not the dark night. No, that was the before. This is before that. This is before that. All right. So we know that dark night is great. Yes. And this is good, but not great.

Or is it? Or is it genius in this? Yeah. Who are you asking? I think I've seen it once. This is, I mean, the dark night is kind of the standard as far as, as far as I know, of these movies. Good cast. Yeah. Killian Murphy's fantastic in this. All right. They like this one. legen, so I think that the 非常的 buenoed this name to you as she backed it based on the gasps and all the more nicely that 와 Ренк in my movie is this music and this is really amazing part of it. And you get to be good at this. And yeah, who knows if for some reason you do myself than who Oh, and that's great to be too careful. Well when an actor has the feeling that theισara stares producing an EP in Hollywood, their casting is instant. This next film has been coming up a lot lately on the podcast probably because it's directed by James Mangold who also directed Ford versus Ferrari Kristen Bell and Russell Crowe take the reins in this remake of a classic Western about a drought stricken rancher offering to escort

Dangerous out loud the train that'll bring him to justice 2007's 310 to you ma Good movie and shame to say I haven't seen this you'll enjoy it and Well, like everyone involved. Well, say this about James Mangold. I love a good. I love a goofy regular dude Like he's like just nice and kind of a little bit goofy Take himself seriously, so it makes jokes his own expense and it's warm like he's just a friendly nice guy. I don't know Why you wouldn't just be like him your wildly successful now just be easy as well All right 310 you might saw in the theater. It's good. I Don't I wouldn't call the great western. It was a very compelling It had I guess like James Mangold it had good characters in it Sometimes remake right. Oh, they said that one. Yeah. All right. I saw it. I still don't know. I'm gonna do something you guys locked in yes, sir

Okay, 79 hmm. Well, I remember it's getting good reviews 89 81 Somebody's right on the bulls eye 310 to you ma is certified fresh at 89 Little higher than the people weird all right needed that that was high. That's a good movie Do you like you you you Lewis in the news? Yeah, yes. Oh, what about the other day? Patrick Bateman shirt of yes Swings and axe and takes yet another yuppie businessman out Between the Jared's all Jared leery oh, it's hard to believe The movie is tame compared to the book Christian Baile Reese with her spoon William DeFoe and Jared leto Coast star and the ultra violent satire from 2000 American psycho this to be a great example of a movie that cannot age well In I think it's great really in the light of the me two movement directed by woman Mary heron Okay, but but that's interesting, but like

Even though it's a satire you know, I mean like do people say oh my god I love this movie do people feel comfortable saying that like they did 20 years ago I give this movie five stars out of five and this is it this might be in my top 25 of all time never saw it I love this movie actually I love it cuz it's funny. Yes, it's home. No, it's Ella. It's hilarious But it's darkly comic is it is it categorizes a comedy? I'd be surprised I mean Maybe on on on on I am to be it might say like you know dark comedy or something like that But it's interesting. I'd be curious. I think I'm seeing drama slasher or American psychological thriller Yes, yeah, I don't think they would give it the comedy rate, but it's not seven You know what I mean? It's not that kind of movie this this movie is going for laughs and it lands Okay, I think the critics like this movie a lot, but I don't remember that it was nominated for anything Very controversial when I came out right there the book had been you know breaded in out Brett Easton Alice had been out for

Number of years and they couldn't make it in a movie because it was so violent and so misogynistic and then a woman director Which I think helped bread eastern else a very interesting guy interviewed him. He's interviewed me a few times Very interesting point of view. All right I Like a bread eastern Alice's gay, right? I believe so I like any person Who is gay or fill in the blank that sort of does not march with all the movement like I'm gay So I mean this group and now I will think and talk and what march and lockstep with this group He's gay and has very individual thoughts Which which I like when I shouldn't have yelled about it then So now sitting in an interview in 2002 whether he was gay Alice explained that he did not identify as gay or straight But was comfortable being thought of as homosexual bisexual or heterosexual Oh, well, it narrows it down higher Yeah, I'm fucking like a love All right, all right Great movie but controversy a lot of violence toward women, right? Yes a lot of

Okay, throws chainsaws at them so They're critic keeping mind this came out too, you know 2000. I think was 2000. Yeah, this was not Yeah, all right, I'm going I'm going Yeah, I'm gonna a little lower as much as I love this movie. I think this is very divisive 68 Oh interesting all I ever think of is I'm in murders and executions. I mean mergers and acquisition I Gotta believe that it's controversial as it is people people love it 85 Another five point deduction what American psycho is fresh at 68 Five that two in a row indeed it is Negative 16 year ago I was talking about us having a drought a while back and we've had four Since since I mentioned we had a drought. Yeah, the drought was lifted. I don't think you meant Brian

No, I was absolutely think about him. All right Take a hard left here after our last film and go back to the days when Christian Bale was an adorable child actor It's the newsies back in 1992. He was a singing and dancing paper boy Rallying rallying his fellow homeless street-ergin buddies to unionize and take on the newspaper tycoon Robert DeVol 1992's newsies All right, Brian's ahead. I haven't seen this movie. I don't know we haven't been playing you know I've been keeping it closed, but the ten point deduction. Yeah, that's too much. This could be literally anything This could be 61 and it could be 23. Yeah, so this is gonna be our chance Gina to try to make up a few points, but I think we have to kind of pick a direction here Anyone seen this in this room? No, I've never seen a whole thing Just highlight here's a reason I haven't seen it though. I have a dick in a brain

So that kind of prevented me from going into the theater. It's two good reasons. Yeah. Oh, too. Yeah, man All right, let's see Where to go with this I was thinking when they said Christian Bale movies. I was like, has he been in any bad movies? So I don't know this could I don't know um, all right um, I swung Low for the fences and went with 27th. Oh, we're gonna have a we're gonna This is this might decide the game because I went 60 interesting this became a Broadway musical hit So somebody liked it enough to pull it out of the chorus and put it on Broadway. I split the difference. I said 52 Newsies is rotten It's 39 But the people they love their newsies. That's right in the damn middle Oh Close game. Okay, Christian Bale has been nominated for four Academy Awards. What are you doing there? One Gina 52? Okay? We're we're we're snug now He took home the statue for his amazing performance in the immensely entertaining film the fighter

We've played that on the rotten tomato's game, but most recently It was nominated for best actor after disappearing Good writing fondle there Disappearing into the role of former vice president dick cheney 2018's vice. I didn't see it. I never got around to it. I wish I had The critics had to love this because they hate cheney and then he was great and Anytime someone puts on weight you got to give him a 10 10% bomb. Yeah, or take it off like a machinus and cheney I feel cheney is universally hated in that group and I didn't see the movie, but I'm sure it wasn't a flattering portrayal of Cheney it was fair. Oh, yeah, well then that's not flattering so And it had that sort of um the big short quality to it Yeah, yeah, but the same kind of stylized. It's the last one All right, everyone is we are I don't know, you know My my gut is Brian's got a small lead here, but it's it's small and

Gina you and I are gonna have to hit this one spot on because Brian is gonna go generally high and we'll go generally high I don't think this is a below 85 type type movie We're gonna have to guess Your best bet is to get it right on thanks Brian. I think you're right. So do that because Brian Brian's just gonna go 90 and then if it's 85 or 95 he's he's covered. I'm going 93. Yeah. Oh, Gina It's it's it's good. It's not quite that good. It also suffers from being after the big short So I think they knocked at a couple of points. Uh, it is good. That's not great 82 I was my heart said 88 my brain said 91 So what should you go with 91 vices only fresh at 66 The people have it lower up. Oh, it's better than that. Yeah, shouldn't be better than that All right Gina good game. Okay

Well Got you solid in third place. Thank you. I'm on the podium 71 Paul Brian How you doing? Feeling good about this actually. Yeah, I should Yeah Adam Corolla 59 spectacle The balled one With 33 Wow Good score You know, I would do it All right, does Adam Coulishor 26 94 that does it for his cruel flasks make sure to and tomorrow for an oning installment until then Oh, and get it up
