Kenny Omega Is the AEW Champion, Cody Rhodes Needs to Turn Heel, and WWE Is Failing Gunther, Bron Breakker and SummerSlam | Two Count July 14th

Kenny Omega is the NEW AEW Champion and both JD from New York and Jonathan Coachman have a lot to say about it. On this week's Two Count, the guys break down ten topics across the biggest week in pro wrestling, starting with AEW Dynamite Beach Break pulling its highest rating in over two years with MJF and Kenny Omega in the main event, and why Tony Khan finally got something right by treating Dynamite like a mini pay-per-view.

From there the conversation gets heated. The Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins contract signing on Raw fell completely flat and Roman made Seth look like an idiot on the microphone. CM Punk wins the WWE title on Raw in Chicago and his first interaction with Cody Rhodes on SmackDown was the most low-effort, lazy way to set up a SummerSlam main event. JD argues the match was made out of necessity because ticket sales are struggling, not because Triple H had a plan. The brand split needs to end immediately. Bron Breakker is being buried in the Vision while Oba Femi gets all the momentum, and WWE cannot push two young guys at the same time to save their lives. Baron Corbin is back and JD thinks the timing is perfect for a pure old-school heel in 2026. And Gunther went from retiring John Cena to being an afterthought on SmackDown filling in for Drew McIntyre, and nobody can explain why.
