The ongoing tension between San Francisco 49ers, wide receiver Brandon Ayyuk, and the team

has grabbed a lot of attention this season.

A major injury sidelined him for the entire 2025 campaign, and now it looks like he may

have suited up for the 49ers for the last.

Time.

He made George Kittle recently opened up about the weird dynamic on a popular podcast.

He noticed Ayyuk coming and going from training camp, sticking mostly to rehab sessions in

the weight room while avoiding the locker room and team.

Meetings.

Kittle was surprised by it all and tried to stay supportive.

Around week 6, he started checking in regularly, reminding Ayyuk that he had his back.

But just a week later, reports about their issues surfaced, and Ayyuk stopped showing up

altogether.

Adam Shafter provided more clarity on ESPN this week.

The 49ers have no plans to cut Ayyuk anytime soon, since his contract has no guaranteed

money remaining.

They can keep him on the roster through the draft, or even into June.

Meanwhile, the team hopes to trade him for some draft value after already paying him

handsomely.
