The Colorado Avalanche lead the NHL in points, despite some ups and downs lately.

Their captain, Gabriel Landiskov, is out with a lower body injury that's being checked week by week.

At 33 years old, he's battled health issues for years, raising questions about his future with the team.

Landiskov last lifted the Stanley Cup in June 2022, then had knee surgery that sideline him for the entire 2022.

Both Landiskov and the Avalanche faced tough choices ahead, a deep playoff run could prove he's still got it, or sparked thoughts of retiring on top after all he's endured.
