President Barack Obama. Virginia, we are counting on you. Republicans want to steal enough seats in
Congress to raid the next election and wield unchecked power for two more years. But you can stop
them by voting yes by April 21st. Help put our elections back on a level playing field and let
voters decide not politicians. Vote yes by April 21st. Paid for by Virginians for fair elections.
So after watching all the things that are happening in the country, especially what's happening with ice,
ice now in airports. We saw ice pulling a mother or a grandmother out of line at the airport
because she didn't somehow, they say that she couldn't show her, that she was a citizen,
whatever. And then we've all seen the scenes, of course, in Minnesota, people being dragged
across the ice and the snow, the ground, and just being brutalized. And then you see them,
again, they're not in the airports. They're still in Minnesota. They're still in other places
around the country. And I just wondered why so many Latinos voted for Donald Trump in 2025,
because he told them exactly what he was going to do. And somehow they perhaps did not hear him,
or they heard something else. And so I'm just wondering, and I saw this report in the New York
Times, and it's from the Rio Grande Valley, where a lot of the supports shifted towards Trump
from this very heavily Latino community, mainly, mostly Latino community, who quite honestly,
after-round and found out. Here's part of that report. I did vote for Mr. Trump, deporting criminals
is a great policy. Foundations are poured ready to go, and we can't even start the construction on them.
But we voted for the American dream, and unfortunately, right now, we're not seeing that.
Pause please. What was, what, what does he mean, voted for the American dream?
Exactly, what does the American dream mean to him? That's what I wondered. And we voted for the
American dream. Now, remember, as you'll hear in this report, the construction industry is a big
industry there, farming, or whatever it is, they rely a lot on immigrants, and many of them rely
on undocumented immigrants. And Donald Trump says, told them before the election that he was going
to deport them. I don't know if they thought that it was, that he would do it to someone else. He
wasn't talking about them. But most people knew, but anyway, as this report says, for months,
ICE has been scouring and terrorizing their community. Here it is.
They've been sweeping up workers at construction sites in South Texas.
ICE has rated us anywhere between 10 to 15 times throughout different subdivisions.
Now, we're excited to cross the Rio Grande Valley of ground to a halt.
And that's got some Trump supporters in this midterm battleground changing their minds.
These people would just show up to our job sites with no warrants taking all our workers,
even the workers with proper documentation. Many who work in the construction industry
here told us they largely rely on immigrant workers, some of whom are undocumented.
DHS did not respond to the times request for comment, but in a previous statement,
it said these raids protect the nation's workforce.
I've supported Mr. Trump in every election that he's been a part of.
We just never thought that this would come and affect us in the construction industry,
but most importantly, affect our economy here in South Texas.
We aren't seen in production.
I don't want to like embarrass a shame this man, but I quite honestly,
I'm having a hard time and I think most of you who are watching this will have a hard time
understanding what he's saying. And many people, quite frankly, probably will not feel sorry for him
or have any empathy for him because again, he told you exactly what he was going to do.
And if you rely on immigrants and undocumented people for your construction business
and others, other businesses, then why would you support someone who's going to
deport the people who work for you, which will affect your livelihood,
which will affect your business, impact your business negatively?
It's not logical. And this is quite frankly, if you want to be honest,
why some people are saying, hey, look, I feel bad that people's due process
rights are being violated, but many of them supported this president, and now they're getting
what they voted for. Roll it.
Almost a 60% of our volume on the residential site of our business, we applied for bankruptcy
in December. We saw a drop in sales of about $5.3 million. For 40 years, we had never laid
anybody off until this happened. We were forced to.
And beyond construction, local businesses say fear is keeping shoppers at home.
And there's been a lot of loss of sales because of that. It killed us this year.
Construction is one of the main pillars to the economy here. Everybody's hurting.
I kind of don't know what else to say. Okay, so that is the business part,
but then there's also just the violation of rights. And when people say that we want to
live the American dream, the American dream has been fought for by people who have sacrificed
a lot in this country, by people like African Americans who understand that this country,
living the American dream may have a different meaning than it has to most people. And part of
the American dream for African Americans has been civil rights. It has been people violating their
rights and then African Americans standing up and putting their bodies on the line for that.
And not just trying to assimilate and get a little money in thinking that their money, their
proximity to power and their proximity to whiteness was going to change things.
They're very aware of what America is about. And so perhaps these people bought into the bullshit
dream that if they just came here and worked really, really, really hard, that somehow the racism
would go away. And somehow the bigotry would disappear. But that's not how it works here.
That would be great if it did, but that's not how it works. And so now people are finding out as
it relates to civil rights, many of the Latino immigrants, they're finding out what African
Americans have known for decades, maybe centuries. And now they're being stopped. And it is
whether it's just existing while Latino, remember it was driving while black, living while black.
And now it is existing while Latino and driving while brown. Watch all of my life 50 years
I've been here. I've never been harassed by Border Patrol on this side of the border like this.
This is outrageous. Why are we not allowed to be here? Because we're not white.
Our skin doesn't match. That's George Doylus. He and his wife are from Imperial Valley.
And they answered yes, sir. So when they were headed up to a dental specialist in North County
on Wednesday, they decided to explore Hacamba in this area around Boulevard. They headed up this
road to see if they could find a campsite. And that's when they say their day took a very different
turn. We didn't think anything of it. We're an American citizen. We're on US soil. Why should we be
afraid? George and his wife Esmeralda say an unmarked SUV started following them and pulled them
over. They say Border Patrol agents first approached wearing masks. So the reason why we're stopping
is because he turns and there's no healing out here. He told the agents where they were going
in that they did not consent to any search. If you have a witness appointment, it probably
wasn't the best decision to be out of nowhere. No, that's we have the right to travel anywhere we
want to travel. You're absolutely right. There you go. You're not supposed to be out in the middle of
nowhere. There are large swaths of swaths swaths of this country that are in the middle of
nowhere. And if you're an American citizen, if you're here legally, you have the right to be
able to go wherever you want to go. And even if you're undocumented and you get stopped, you still
have due process rights. They may not like it, but that is what our constitution says. And so now
people are finding out what driving wild brown is, right? When black people would say driving
wild black, what were you doing? I wasn't doing anything. I was just driving. And then the larger
culture would go, you had to be doing something. No. And so I think that like the American dream,
they really need to think about what the American dream, the definition of the American dream is
for them because a lot of it is built on an illusion. And they voted for a lot of things
that they did not expect. And a lot of things that they didn't get.
Watch this gentleman. All the Trumpers, I just got a question. I know niggas don't want to talk
politics, but it's cool. Y'all didn't get a wall. You didn't get the swamp drained and didn't get
affordable health care. You didn't get eliminated national national debt. You didn't get a new
infrastructure. You didn't get Hillary Clinton locked up. You didn't get Epstein accountability.
You didn't get a five K doge check. You didn't get the two case stimulus check man. You didn't get
lower grocery prices. You didn't get help buying a home or affordable home prices that going up.
You did not get America first and you did not get peace. We have war right now. What the fuck did
you get? What did all y'all get? Mr. I'm from the save America. And what did y'all get?
Nothing gets shit. Higher groceries. Higher groceries. He said the groceries was going down.
He said the homes are going to be more affordable. They need to turn around and say,
oh, you're too lazy to own a home. You don't deserve home. We shouldn't jack the prices up some more.
And he's right. 100% right. And so all of this support that Donald Trump gained and was
surprising to a lot of people from Latino voters in 2024. Again, it was surprising to a lot of
people, but he gained a lot of support. And now that support is dwindling as the polls show.
Will that last until November? I don't know. But if you continue to support Republicans,
or if you continue to support the MAGA movement, I think you should listen to this lady because
she has a few words to say to you. If you could say something to President Trump,
he was going to hear you right now. What would it be? You're a worthless pile of
s***. And you voted for him how many times? Three times. That was my bad. Apparently, I'm an idiot.
And if you continue to support this person, I'd have to say that I agree with her. I won't call
you an idiot, but I'll let her word stand. Let us know what you think in the comments.
