Fi: Aino istui keittiön pöydän ääressä ja katseli ulos ikkunasta.
En: Aino sat at the kitchen table and looked out the window.
Fi: Kevät oli vihdoin saapunut, ja pihojen hanget olivat alkaneet sulaa.
En: Spring had finally arrived, and the snowdrifts in the yards had begun to melt.
Fi: Talot naapurustossa olivat pastellinsävyisiä, ja puiden oksat täyttyivät jo lehdistä.
En: The houses in the neighborhood were in pastel shades, and the branches of the trees were already filling with leaves.
