Now here's Bobby and Matt. Hey everybody, we have Bijon Robbins in coming on later, which is going to be super cool. And he is basically everybody's first or second overall pick in fantasy. First or second? Yeah, it's your mid-year gap. Both got paid. They got broke off. Yeah, so we'll talk to him coming up in just a little bit. How you doing? I'm super excited. Football's finally here. It does feel like we have something built in to talk about instead of us just like scratching.

3:04We've been scratching. We've been clung. The off season's always difficult, especially when you're going through OTAs. There are moments where you have the draft and you have free agency and all those things, but now it's going to get interesting because we actually have some substance to talk about and some really good games coming up here. So I asked you not to tell me before we went on. Uh-huh. You spent some time with Tom Brady recently? Uh, no, we'll just phone call. Just phone call checking in with one another and he heard that I was going to be calling games certain next week. And so we just got into a little conversation about it. It was great lesson to him and getting some of his advice because obviously he went through it a few years ago, being put on the main stage. I mean, he also obviously on the scale that he was, you know, on the main broadcast team, you're going to get a super bowl. You're going to do all that stuff, but some of the lessons that he learned along the ways. And, you know, he's always been incredible to me as a mentor, as a person when I was playing, but even further on in our friendship throughout life, he's just an incredible person, always willing to share, which I've always appreciated.

4:06Um, so just some small tidbits that he learned along the way. For instance, he's like, did never say percentages. Nobody cares about 69.4% pass or what does that mean? He completes a lot of passes because he said early on, he'd sometimes use a stat to support evidence. And then some more on his crushing them on Twitter saying, no, it's not 65.5, right? And stuff like that. And then also just in nailing just the openings and stuff like that and how he goes about it. Because he preps, he says he really went about it like we did in New England and how he prepped and look, there's going to be three or four things that Belichuk would tell us weekend and week out. Look, we need to do this. We need to stop the run. We got to shut this is their main guy. If he gets going offensively, we're going to be in for a long day. An example of that would have been Tony Gonzalez when we played the chiefs, he'd circle them, we double them. We, when I say double, sometimes they'd line up here, we'd hit him off the line of scrimmage with a defensive end so we couldn't release cleanly all those things. So just having those, those different thoughts in your bag about the preparation, how you

5:10go into this kind of similar to what we did for our careers. Did he call you or did you call him? I called him. This is probably the fifth time in this is the first time he's picked up in five calls. So not going to say that it's always reciprocated feeling here and that he's going to just pick up the call just because cast dogs calling. But you know, this time he did and it's always, it's always great to catch up. Did he know you were calling? Well, only on his phone when my name popped up. You know what I didn't, I didn't schedule a phone call. I didn't schedule a phone call and be like, hey, I did. I would love to pick your brain on this. It was just off a cuff. I was driving over to the kids and he picked it up. That's pretty cool. Call him now. Call him now. What's up? That's a good idea. You know, it's funny. Is he sitting there and I was like, what are you doing, dude? And he goes, actually, I'm watching film preparing for this week because he's like, I need to get caught up on my film study and all that stuff. And that's part of it as well as the fun part when you get the season. You actually get to watch these, these teams and what kind of scheme they're running and kind of dissect it in that way.

6:11So you went over to the USC and was it like Fresno, what would they play? Stannels, they said. Yeah. And there's nobody there. There was nobody there. It was hot didn't you. You were there. I was in at the game though. Nobody. It was 94 degrees out, which is ridiculously hot for you. For the year. Yeah. So that was the big story that nobody was there. Nobody was there that the fans don't show up that they don't care. As a former USC player, what were your thoughts on that? I was a little surprised that it was so empty to be honest with you. At the same time, I also understand our audience and our fan base. We're playing Stannels, they state which should be a mercy kill where a 30, oh damn, they are 40 point favorite. It's really hot outside in the middle of the day. And so a lot of people have other things to do and they go out and they do those other things. I guarantee in three weeks when they, when Oregon comes to town and you've got that game at the call of seeing that thing will be packed with the bread and it'll be rocking. But there's an expectation level there that you kind of understand that it's not going

7:16to be like going to a, you know, I heard the Texas Tech coach, you know, talk a little smack through a little shade that we got tough people down here in Texas and they're going to show up. That's great. There's nothing else going on in Lubbock, Texas. My dad's from Lubbock, Texas. I've been to Lubbock, Texas and let me tell you, it's either that or sitting on a, you know, watching your cows take a dump. So you're going to go out there. I'm not saying that everybody does that. I'm sorry. Sin Heymail courtesy of castle at NFL doctor. Just throw a little shade back. Yeah. Yeah. How did it go with you practicing your first game call? It was fun, man. Honestly, it's so well produced. Like the night before you're really going through all the different segments of the game, having stuff in your back pocket, if the game does get at hand. And so early on, it's kind of a sequencing of you do your introductions, main storylines and all that stuff. And as you get into the first quarter, you're kind of introducing players. They're giving you the lineups and you're picking one or two players or top storylines about that position group could be a player.

8:17It could be a group like USC had a bunch of freshmen's playing. Then you switch it to the San Jose State side, which is always a little bit more difficult when you have one returning starter on their defense and all new players because you don't know what to expect. But then vice versa, San Jose State's offense comes on. You've got your talking points about their lineup and all that stuff. And then it's kind of the flow of the game. So it's, it was a lot of fun actually. I have really enjoyed it. You call your first game next week, next week, as in this week. No, sorry, not this week. No, no, that's how I would have said it to you. But I didn't know people say a different language from California. So maybe you mean this week means this week, next week means next week. Correct. So not this Saturday, not this Saturday, the next Saturday. Yes, sir. And are you going to Madison? Yes, I am. So who's the game? It's Eastern Michigan and Wisconsin. And then the following week I'm at Penn State for Wisconsin, Penn State, which should be rocking. That's cool. Yeah, it should be cool. And so I mean, I'm peacock. It'll be on peacock. That's so cool. I'm so happy for you. I'm pretty fired up. I got it. I don't really give a crap about anybody. But I like it that you're doing that.

9:17That's so cool. I'm fired up. I'm not text, man. It's like how to go. How to go. You did. You reached it. I was excited. You did. You did. You never have as either. I know. We're both like Texan. We don't ever do that. Matt was going to come on and do Rich Eisen. Did you guys know this? I didn't know that. No, there's no need to be sorry. I forgot you were even coming to town. And they said, why don't we get cast a lot? Because you were on the last time that I did. I said, that'd be awesome because I don't have to do any setup. Like he knows more we're going to talk about even without us talking. And so they're like, great. They said, oh, he's coming to town. He's going to get off the plane and come right over and just be in studio. I was like, oh, this is the greatest. I'll keep him up for three segments. And so that morning they go, he's not going to make it. I never heard if your flight was delayed or if you had to change your flight or what happened. What we had to do is go over because they have the coaches meetings and then they go over to the stadium and they were showing me my setup and they were going over comms. Can you hear this? Any other show me my monitor. So then all of a sudden it was just back to back to back and I was like, man, I'm that

10:18you're off air. So that makes sense. And that's a completely wonderful, not even excuse, a reason to not come. So you thought I just blew you off? No, I thought your flight was delayed. Oh, no. You didn't show and they said, hey, is there any other guest that you want? But it was like an hour before. And I said, I don't know. Why don't we get the Arkansas coach on? I knew they were in the middle of practice. And I'd never spoken to him. I don't know. You've never had him on anything. I thought you'd have that relationship that bond. I didn't want it. I've learned not to fly too close to the sun because there have been times where I'm not liked. The person and his run it for me. And you do talk eight ton of about your school. No, I've been. Honestly, about much. Very real way. Yeah. But nobody loves me. Nobody loves them more than me. Right. Nobody loves them more than me. So I say how I feel. Right. I'm honest about it. But I've had experiences where if I don't like to coach, it ruins it for me. So I don't even want to know. I don't want to have a relationship. Right. So if you like them, then it's going to taint your view and you're not going to be able to speak truthfully. And Jared Allen, your friend who I know a little bit now is friends with them.

11:18And Jared's like, he's a great guy. Like people that I know about form. But let's see if we can get him on. I knew they're in the middle of practice. But he jumped on and zoomed for 15 minutes or so. It was great. And I think that's the thing. Allow you to get close to that relationship. So we've just asked him a little bit now. See that this is going to go. It's going to go. His views have changed. No, no views have changed. I'm just saying, I didn't like it that you miss. I completely understand why. But then I got the Arkansas coach on. It was all good. We got a big slate this week. You want to talk football? Yeah, it's toxic. I mean, I got these games to me for first week or incredible. Well, obviously Wednesday, we got Pat Patsy tonight, right? If you remember tonight. Yeah, tonight tonight. We got Pat Ceeox, 49ers Rams. And Australia, the visual game. Bill's Texans should be another great game. You got Packer's Vikings, the visual game. Cowboys at Giants. Yeah, that'd be fun. Huge game. Broncos at Chiefs. If we do what storyline are you super interested in week one? And I'll go first here.

12:20What's there can be any player, any situation? Like what are you so interested in? I'm going to go Minnesota Vikings. What are the worlds going to happen with Kyla Murray? Slash Justin Jefferson. Because Justin Jefferson is for sure that dude, right? It's him or Jamar Chase is the number one receiver. I mean, I'm going to give one more season to... And Jagma. Yeah. And then I can put him in there. I can't do it after one breakout year. I can. That kid's special. I agree. But Jackson Smith and Jagma, if you're watching this, we didn't give it to Jamar Chase after one year. There's a lot for me too, but I can't put him in the Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, because they've done it over years. And they've done it with bad quarterbacks or backup quarterbacks, because Joe Barrows always hurt. I'm interested in Minnesota on if Kyla Murray is serviceable. If they don't win, I think your boy ends up being on the warm seat. Kevin O'Connell.

13:20Because he is a quarterback whisperer. And if anybody can... Taker. Yeah, it's him. And does Kyla Murray have it, meaning the want to? Because I have read multiple stories where the story is Kyla Murray shows up on time to practice. The story is Kyla Murray shows up on time to practice. Of course it is, because that's the narrative of this. No, no, no, right. Since he signed that contract. But he did it. He signed up. He did it to himself by not watching Tay, by having fun. Plants, videos, games, yes. Doing all the things, right? The story is Kyla Murray's on time to practice. Good for him. That's a crazy story to have to exist. That someone gets the news because they're on time. Like that's what they talk about when they talk about him, because ever since that story has broke years ago when he signed that contract, it just put a black cloud over this guy about character issues, not being a leader, not caring, all the different things that you don't want associated with you as a starting quarterback or a franchise quarterback. And now he's got the ability to write the ship,

14:22but he's got to prove that early on this season because they're loaded with talent. And that's the point with Justin Jefferson. Can Kyla Murray get him double? That's all they have to do. That's it. Yeah. And Kyla Murray, though, has to move around a bit because again, he is so small, he can't just drop back. He has proven, though, time and time again, that he can function within side the pocket. I mean, the guy is a high level. He's a rookie of the year. He's taken that team to the playoffs before. He's had winning seasons now that he's got caught with the injury bug recently, but at the same time, Kyla Murray, when he's out of his best, he's a really good quarterback in the NFL. I agree. And I loved him. And he also could be the victim of a really bad organization. Yes. And we've seen it happen. Yeah. Sam Darrell, Kason Point, Jets, Baker Mayfield. Baker Mayfield. We could even go through the guys that got drafted in the organizations that never made it partially because they got drafted in the bad organizations. I mean, I think about Tim Calch all the time. Oh, yeah. If he doesn't go to the Browns, like I think he ends up having a serviceable career.

15:22But my story that I'm thinking about going into week one is Packers are in Minnesota, and I'm just interested in seeing Kyla Murray play. And can they do with Kyla Murray what they did with... Sam Darrell? Sam Darrell, thank you. Yep. Sam Darrell. I kept going to say nine, but they didn't do anything with him. No, they didn't. Chase Eat McCarty's that. Exactly. They don't know. Nine, nine. When he plays, he's nine. Oh, he's nine. Yeah. Okay. So I almost said, well, they did with J.J. McCarty, but did you... That just never came to fruition. The one game I'm circling, to be honest with you, I'm excited about all these games, but it's Broncos at Chiefs. Because the Chiefs, you got Patrick Williams coming back from a major ACL injury. What does he look like? And everybody is saying this is either the Chargers Division or the Broncos Division, although the Chiefs are still the Chiefs, right? They went out, they've got themselves running back, they've got the talent, but what do they look like starting this season?

16:23And also Broncos, to be honest with you, when you look at what they were able to do last year, do they pick up where they left off? But this is a statement for the Division, I think early on in the year, between a team that has been at the top for a long period of time with the newcomer Broncos last year coming in, and whether or not they can kind of push themselves up to the top and say, hey, no, this is not a hard division. I think after Houston, Denver has, in my opinion, the second best defense, you could argue that Denver has the best defense and I wouldn't even care to fight with you. So defensively, they're gonna be obviously ready. And this game has been so much of, hey, my home's just coming off injury. Don't forget, bone next was hurt too. Like he's also rehabbing, and we're seeing if he has any mobility, we're seeing if they're gonna open him up moving around at all. So it's not just Patrick Mahomes, now he's the star of the NFL, top three, but it's also bone X. Oh, for sure. And the young quarterback talent there,

17:23but it's also the chief's defense that lost both of their starting corner revax. They've got youth at that position. They added depth on the defensive line. What does that defense look like against Broncos who can run the ball? And like you said, bone X is coming off an injury as well. They went out and got waddle. So they added some death. That's every so cool. It's just gonna be awesome. He's a stud. So again, I just think this is a heavyweight match for to start the season in a divisional rivalry that will kind of set the tone for the rest of the season. I was surprised the chiefs were at three point favorite to be honest with him. I am too just based on that defensive is, gets after the quarterback, and they are stout to say the least. I mean, because they just don't give up a lot of points. That game is Monday night at eight Eastern. Okay, we're gonna come back with B. John Robinson and he plays football. And we like that because today we're talking about football finally. All right, back in a second. You know the feeling.

But with that being said, have big news this week, two was named the starter. How's everybody feeling about that? What's your confidence level going into week one with two at the helm? Yeah, man, very confident, man. Like just being able to practice with him for the past couple of months has been, a great thing, not just for me, but for the guys. It's obvious that his experience in this league

24:37really played a factor in his success, even just talking to him, just about route details, like really everything in men is bit. It's been pretty special. But I think just him had a confidence in us and make sure that when he just gets the ball on our hands, like when do the rest for him? And make sure we make him look good. It is really important for this offense. But I know he's very excited. We're all very excited for him. And we're all very excited to play with him and all the guys on a Sunday miss. So it'd be cool. Is it generally? I know Pinnix is as well. Playing with a left hand or quarterback, is that different for you? Do you have to go into the game thinking slightly different because of how he's going to draw back or how he's going to hand the ball off? I mean, so I'm a lefty. So it's good for me. I love it. For me, it doesn't really matter what the spin is. Right here lefty. You've got a test of ball. You know, you have it. You put the ball in the same. Like, so for Mike and for Tua,

25:39like having those guys, you know, in trying to camp in just on the football. Like, you know, I think it comes off with, you know, with the gray zip to the dorm motion. But, you know, it has changed. Change for me. There's been a lot of change with you guys this off season. Obviously, from the front office to the new head coach in Kevin Stefanskiy, a guy who actually I was with in Minnesota. How has that transition been? How have you guys been able to adopt what he's been preaching to you guys? Yeah, he's a great man. Like, the thing I like about him is just how fair he is as a head coach. You know, he wants to say everything. You know, he wants the total package of everything from the office, the beef and special seams. And, you know, obviously, we had been office in mind. I've gotten to learn a lot from him, especially with him being a running back coach. And even my running back coach that I've been with my whole career here at the Falcons, like, had been in and learn from that too. So, you know, he's very intentional with the details.

26:41He wants, you know, things done a certain way. But you can tell like every single play that him and Tommy Reese, ROC, like, wants to call, wants to be explosive, wants to get us in space, wants us to be, you know, a mismatch problem all over the field. So that's what that's what I like about him a lot. And, you know, they're not just calling plays to, you know, call play, but they're trying to test your time. And he's trying to call play to make it in the end. And I really appreciate that within his well. So it's been cool. Did you dedicate a lot of your time in high school and even in college at just catching balls? Or were you just naturally a good receiver out of the backfield? Yeah, I think, you know, it was a gift. God's giving me men. I played a lot of, you know, flag with ball seven or seven. So I, and I played strictly receiver in the off seasons of in high school. And since I was a kid. So, something I've always known. You know, I think just the coaches that I've had always realized that talent. They realized what I could do out wide or catch it from the backfield.

27:42And they utilized a, a certain way. They exploited it. And then, you know, some of that's been, uh, been effective, you know, against the defense. Since I was in high school, popular wonderer, college, now in NFL. So it's been, um, it's been a special transition to be able to get to do that. Um, it's just to be effective all over the field. It's to be a mismatch all over the field. Um, and it's, is that a lesson? I have to ask. I went back and looked at some of your high school stats. And I mean, your senior year, you rush for over 2200 yards. You had 38 touchdowns and only 126 carries. That's 17.7 average. Did you guys play anybody? Or were you just that dominant? Because some of these stats that you have here, there was a one game you rush for 430 yards with six touchdowns on 13 carries. I mean, who are we playing here? I mean, that, that same exact team, um, they had a lot of, they had a lot of B-Moron recruits.

28:44Um, I don't know if that meant, that that meant anything back then. Uh, but, you know, we, we, we played some competition. We, you know, played some teams that, you know, obviously we're that much better than, uh, but that's, that's what made Arizona high school football fun, man. Like, especially when I was there, you know, we had a lot of, a lot of talent in Arizona, like from like the key to your ring, ring nose, uh, rock parties. Like, yeah, we played a lot of guys, man. So it's, it's, it's cool to, uh, to get to see whether I'd now, but yeah, definitely in high school, it was, uh, sometimes it was just, you know, we, we knew we were doing that at halftime. Uh, by, by, we were about to play against, but, you know, it was, it was definitely a, uh, a fun deal to have, we know, uh, then I carried in the first, in the first half to be done. Was the, uh, the speed of the game, was it so different going high school to college or more different going college to the NFL? It was different high school to college. That's, that's, that was the drastic speed of the game. Um, because like, like I just said,

29:47like we go from playing guys that maybe weren't as athletic, uh, or skilled in, in some divisions to immediately playing guys that were all fast, were all big and strong, um, were smarter. So, and, and we're the best at their high school or wherever stick they were at. So, that was, that was definitely the biggest, the biggest difference, the biggest jump that I had, uh, that I had a big used to, but it took about that training camp, um, and that might have for that first year, especially because it was COVID to, for the game to really slow down for me. Uh, and then from college to the NFL, like that's, that's not that much of a difference. Uh, you know, guys were fast, but the only difference is like guys are smarter in the NFL and, you know, see somebody guys like Mr. Datsr or Mr. Responsibilities, but, you know, other than that, what even when the NFL game slowed down, you know, it just, you know, it grows your confidence that was more. Going back to coming out of high school, you're the number one recruit in the nation

30:51at your position. What made you pick Texas and coach Sarkeesian and want to be a longhorn? Yeah, um, and I was just a, a guy decision, man, by he, he placed it in my heart to go there, uh, from the beginning, since I stepped foot on there, my, my junior year high school, and Texas actually wasn't a place I was, was gonna go, uh, it was actually a place I wasn't gonna go. Uh, they weren't in my list of anything, it's still my head coach, you know, he, he just said, like, what about Texas, you know, you, you know, talking about Texas much like, is that an interest? And I said, I mean, yes, no kind, I, I will know. Uh, so he actually, we, you know, put the trip to go to Texas to go to the game, the spring game, and we went my junior year and, you know, after that, the, the rest of history, like, you know, I had a stand during enough of my rain back coach, uh, we had an amazing relationship. Tom, her role was a head coach at the time. So, you know, it was cool to like, see those guys and talk to those guys and get recruited by them. And then obviously,

31:54after my first year there is when Sarc came in and I had them for two years and just our relationship then and now has been, you know, second and none. But, you know, it's, it's obviously the decision that I've been thinking about was more of a 40 year, like, lifetime decision more than, you know, me thinking about just three years of college, which is cool. Game day, do you have any superstitions? Or what is your regimen like game day as far as is it so laid out that you know, regardless of game time, you're going to be doing this at this time? Yeah, like, choreographed my family. And it just meant it like since I'm the god of the morning, like, that's the thing I have to do. I can't not do it. It's something I've been doing. It's about $1,000 in high school kid. So make sure I'm praying for my family and, you know, just talking to my family right before games is definitely something that I love to do. And then just going out there and warming up on my own, just playing music, playing some like very like chill, soft house music.

32:56And some not always do just kind of just relax my mind because I know the games are chaotic. So I just relax my mind and just chill on the field like make sure I'm cutting, make sure I like see your remarkable foot, play this in the ground. But that's those are things that I that I can't not do before take us in the mind of a running back when you're sitting back there, you know, you have your reads. Maybe it's a three technique or a linebacker and how you envision that and how that makes you so successful because you're obviously been incredibly successful these first three years. And you do it as good as anybody does in the NFL. But talk to us just about your mindset and how you visually see see the game. Yeah. So for me, you know, for every runs game or your past game, like I do have to see where my reads are because games change. So my reach my reach changed too. But I think the biggest thing for me that is is really helped me a lot especially these these past couple of years is like I try to go I know where the free hitter is

33:58pretty much every play. Like I know who I have to get past, you know, I know the blocking scheme and how everybody blocked up and I know like that one guy that I have to make miss. I just know where he's at. Like that's that's missing something that I was thinking probably if that's really helped my game a lot. Especially last year, like I can point where the free hitter was I actress point him out. And I just know like as to the see comes free here comes loose. Like I have a plan to attack and to make a miss or to you know do whatever move. Coke comes to mind and that's what second, but I think that's the thing that's definitely that's definitely helped me you know get confidence in my game especially in that especially in the road game. Do you have any personal goals this season? I do I do I write it down. I don't really say a mile out. I'll tell you one and it's just just be better than the last season. Just be now I've got a question just be better than last season. That's this kid is amazing by the way.

35:03Do you play fantasy football? I do that. Oh man. I was going to say how great would it be to draft yourself because let's be honest here. Either the number one pick or the second pick in the draft every year. Yeah it's it's great like we're fantasy football gone. Even just these basketball years like and just how big it is. You know I want to Japan a couple of years ago after the season and even the people in Japan are like they don't even watch football but they pull up their phone and it was like you're both fantasy player like I was like this is it reaching all the way here in Japan and in all these other countries is pretty special it's pretty cool. What about a team gold? Do you guys have a goal? Is it simply to win the division or do you guys go full-out Super Bowl? No yeah we definitely have those goals but I think the goals that we've been you know harpered on a lot is trying to be almost perfect at that execution in every single game.

36:07You know it acts getting at a very high level because the execution is where the fun comes and we're doing what we're supposed to do and you know attacking those details are our way especially this winning against the stillers and then everything else the wins come with it. Your whole team goals in totality so I think it's just us is making sure that we're executing at a very high level every single week is what the goal that we have in place. What are some of the keys to success this weekend? Yeah it's the physicality you know we've been harping on it you know being being the more physical team because when we do that and when we like I just said you know execute that you know at a very high level taking it one play at a time like that's when everything works in the game and that's when your your run game is working at a high level that's when the pass game opens up and we can find those reads so you know I think just taking the one play at a time and obviously we

37:13have the utmost respect for that defense so we're going to go in there and bring that confidence with ourselves and all that we worked on in in trying to come in OCA is it just just bringing to life on the field. One, Joe Burrow would love for him to stay healthy longer than one quarter. Please of the season. Yeah. Like if he's healthy and the bangles have improved on defense a bit. Definitely invested in the defense inside the ball. Did I think the bangles will be a real threat in the AFC? I would love to see them be a threat.

43:03I would love for Burrow to play a full season. I mean Burrow's the only guy to go one on one with my homes and actually beat them. Lost Super Bowl but still I want to see Cincinnati be healthy and give it a real run and have an actual defense. On the other side of that we got the bucks in their quarterback situation where he's got his deal. He bet on himself. Yeah. He's got his deal. I like that. I think the bucks are gonna be good. They're playing in a division that isn't good. It's definitely a win-able division. No doubt about that. I think Baker Mayfield and the bucks can win that division. There's a lot of really strong games week one. Really strong games. And that wasn't even in the top of my list when we first went through these but it's just the opposite of college football where there's like a couple really good ones and all bad ones. Especially week one or week two. Yeah. It's football. It's like you might get two ranked teams playing each other. What was it? Ole Miss. They were going Ole Miss. Ole. Yeah. There was the Ole. That was the only two ranked teams that were playing in the top 25. So I'm going buckeners at bangles. As my number one interested game, the bangles are three and a half point favorite incense and

44:07haddy. All right. You're up. All right. I'm going to go back to the bills at Texans. You've got a new coach with Joe Brady. What does that look like? It's going to be a new defensive scheme as well for the bills. Can they put that side of the ball together quickly? We know about Josh Allen and what he's got going. But what does this team and how they come out in their identity is under Joe Brady because we kind of had a feel under Sean McDermott what it was going to be. But this is going to be a new regime starting over. So what do the bills look like against the Texans team that we know we talked about there? The number one or number two ranked defense and all of the NFL. And then also for the Texans, I think we want to see what CJ Straub can go out and do. Right. He didn't have a great playoff. It's understandable. But they need him to play well to get to where they want to be, which is a super bowl contender. I think I'm interested to see what they want from CJ Straub, meaning if they only want a game manager. So maybe he doesn't need to perform at a really high level if the defense is actually

45:09in control of the game. For me, my interest is also in Straub, but it's what do they want and expect from him more than what's he just going to do? Because I don't think they're going to need him to do a Josh Allen, a Joe Barrow type offense or just to even be that elite of a weapon. I don't think they're going to need it. Well, you can always manage a game and that's a huge part of every quarterback. But at the other day, when you go up against a team like the bills and you're down by six points in the fourth quarter, you need a drive. That's when he has to show up. So you we can be you can be a game manager with the type of defense. But when you go up against the elite competition in the NFL, at some point, you're going to be asked to win game. You're going to have to put the team on your back and prove that you can go down and win those type of games. Yet Josh Allen versus the Texans D, but Josh Allen with new DJ Moore, which it's interesting if he's going to be any good or not. Because I think Chicago was happy to see him go. But I think last year, obviously, Chicago's offense existed. But the year before

46:10he didn't get to do much. He didn't do much. They didn't feed to offense. They didn't do much. It was a really quarterback. It was any other previous relationship with Joe Brady. He knows his skill set, knows how to utilize them. And he's kind of that Swiss Army knife too, right? You don't always just line them about side, but he's one of those guys get can get to the outside on speed sweeps. You can throw a screen passes. He's really good with the ball on his hand. So it'll be interesting to see how you utilize him. My next game is going to be Cowboys at Giants. Cowboys are a three point favorite in New York or New Jersey. I'm interested just to see the Cowboys. Like there's not a lot of talk from Jerry Jones about the Cowboys right now, because I think he knows they're good. Right. And I think everyone expects the Cowboys to actually be at their foundation, a really strong team this year, which isn't always the case because people love to talk Cowboy. If they're bad, if they're great, I feel like now people are just kind of waiting to see on the Cowboys because there is an expectation for them to win 10, 11 games.

47:13There is and their offense is going to be elite. I have no question about that. It's how does your defense perform? You've invested a lot of money in the defense. It's got a new look, a lot of new personnel. Can they be a team that goes out there week and a week out and get stops when they need to? Because this offense is going to put up a ton of points. So it's to me, I'm going to be watching this defense see how much better they are from even a season ago, which isn't going to be really hard to do to get better at that point. But then also on the other side, the Giants and Jackson and their offensive units, Skataboo will be back. They've got a lot of good players on that side of the ball, but they're young. They've got a good offensive line. And then that defensive front, which is one of when you look at it on paper, it's one of the most ferocious defensive fronts. Can they affect Dac Pressah in the pocket? How the game is Sunday at 720 central time. All right, your second game. All right, I'm going with the Bears at Panthers. Caleb William coming off a huge year last year. They won a lot of close games last year. I think that they've got an

48:16explosive explosive offensive unit. Can they recapture that? And then the Panthers again, they had a successful year last year as well. Bryce Young, we talked about him coming off a good year. Can they get more explosive? They've got a new running back in the in the backfield. But I think this is going to be an interesting game because I think they're pretty equally matched. And both of these teams teams are looking to take that next step in the progression. And I'm wondering if a guy like Luther Burton really comes on this year. You know, he was awesome at Missouri. He was a rookie last year. But you have Luther Burton, Kulston Loveland. Like you have these guys that really played well last year that man, if they go to really good, right? And even if one of them is great, while they're really good, Roman Adusis as well. So they do have the weapons. But man, if they level up, they could really be dangerous offensively. I would just hate to play there. It's so cold. I hate the cold guys. I hate that cold yet though. I hate the cold. Okay. My final game is going to be

49:21I don't want to pick the 49ers Rams because that game is early in the week in this the Australia game. Yeah, that's the wild card in this game is when you have to travel to Australia. And I think the 49ers went over there early. The Rams delayed that and didn't go over as early. They're getting in their five minutes for the game starts. The plan is landing in the stadium. So the impact of the travel and the time change and all the different elements that go into this game. It's not like you're playing here in the States and you're on a normal time zone and you've already understand your schedule. The schedules are going to be messed up. First game of the year, they both are very familiar with each other. They play each other often. The coaches know each other scheme. So it's it'll be a really interesting game, I think, between those two teams. But again, how can you not get excited about watching the Rams and seeing what they do, especially with all miles gear, it coming over two new corner backs back there because that was their Achilles feel last year. How do you not mention Aaron Donald? Well, yeah, that guy. I just don't think he's going to play that much yet. But he's still there though. He's still there. When yeah, seeing those two guys on the

50:22field at the same time will be special. So the game that I am going to do is going to be Saints at Lions. Lions are seven point favorite. That is a big number. The Lions are expected to do really well this year. That being said, I just am curious of what Tyler Schug does. He looked great the second half of the year. I would say really the last third of the season for the Saints, which were terrible, but he wasn't, which actually made them not terrible. So I'm anxious to see what Tyler Schug does as the actual starting quarterback of the New Orleans Saints. So that game Sunday at noon. All right, your last game last game. I got to go Patriots at Seahawks. Obviously, we're going back to this a few months ago when we had the Super Bowl. Seahawks dominated them for most of that game. Do the Patriots look better up front? Can they protect their Mandrake May? What does AJ Brown bring to the table? How is he going to be an impactful player in this game? And then of course, he at Christian Gensal, it's on the defensive side of the ball. He signed a little deal, didn't he? Brand new deal. I think that he's going to be motivated to go out there and be a lockdown. And he'll

51:23have his work cut off for him against Jackson Smith, the Jigba. It's so nice to actually have football. It's so nice, right? So much to look forward to. Now, are you one of those guys that will red zone it? I have both going. I have red zone going. And I also have Sunday ticket where I can have the games that I want to see specifically. Right. So we're in a league where we draft teams. And if they win you win money, but if they don't win, you lose a bunch of money. And so I like to watch my specific games, but also have fantasy going. So I like to have red zone. I have upstairs. I have basically a gambling room where it's multiple TVs all built on the wall. Yes. Yeah, it's money on every game. Yeah, red zone really works out for me, especially with the one o'clock games that are all simultaneously playing that you can just get the action when you need the action. And it's going to always need the action. I need the action day. I always need the action. All right, let's do a couple of situational awarenesses. Yes, sir. I'll go first. You were just named the starting quarterback of the Falcons, but the coach says nothing beyond that is guaranteed.

52:26Does that change how you play a week one? You hope not. Hopefully you go out there and dominate and get yourself another week. But again, in this circumstance, in this situation, when Pinnix is just coming back from his injury, you know it's probably going to take some time for him to get up to speed, especially with not having full speed reps throughout this off season, that it's an opportunity for you to go out there and take control. Because again, there's a lot of question marks with Pinnix as well. So if I'm going to get an opportunity to go in there and play, it doesn't change how I'm thinking about it. I'm just going to go in and try to be totally prepared, understand the offense, what's being asked to me and execute at a high level. Okay. Ready? All right. Someone in your fantasy league asked for a trade before the first game. Are you listening or shutting it down immediately? So here's the thing about me. I'm always listening to everything all the time. I'm known in my league as the guy who probably wills and deals too much. And sometimes it has cost me leagues and sometimes it has won me leagues. But think about me is I got my head on a swivel. You want to talk? I'm right

53:26talked. You have something to say. I'm ready to listen. And I'm going to have something to say. Like you're making a trade before the first game. Yeah. Maybe so maybe you have a player that is questionable. Maybe you drafted someone you didn't realize it was out four weeks. Maybe you got a quarterback like Josh Allen, but you have a backup like say Tyler Schuck. And you're like, you know what? I think if I trade Josh Allen who I drafted in the third round, I can give me a decent running back. And I'll just kind of go with Schuck. So I do think there are reasons for that. But it doesn't matter what week. I'm listening. You call me off season. You're having a team. I'm listening. Strategy is the ultimate strategy. I'm listening. You know what I love is we have a league. And this is for my 10 year old son and it's with all of his buddies. And it's amazing when we drop the kids off at school and somebody made a trade on the waiver wire at like 930 in the morning. I was like, your kid didn't make the trade. It's supposed to be for them. You can't GM the hell out of their team. And so they finally had to make a rule like you can't trade or make acquisitions. All right. So they're school. Yeah. Well, you're the person that's supposed to be running the team.

54:27Is that school? Is that school? Yeah. But the dads are there making trades getting acquisitions. I was like, what it's totally the kids team. Toilet the kids team. It's not like we're doing it together. But of course, they're 10. So there's there's some advice to be given. But not be trades being made or acquisitions taking place when the kids are at school. You know the feeling. You make a pick in your fantasy draft in the entire room. Grounds because they wanted that player. 59:46it a few times, then okay, if we need it, put it in. But hopefully you're holding it for sure. Would they do that? Nope. Okay. No. No, I mean that the latest you'd probably get is a Friday practice. A Friday practice, somebody might come in, for instance, Todd Haley came in and we were playing the Minnesota Vikings and we're trying to take a shot play down the field. But it really was meant for a max protection all out blitz and looking at the analytics and the percentages, they didn't really bring blitz zero, which is what you want it for, right? When you're getting heated up, you have a double move on the outside, max protects strong play action. And so we had a discussion about it. And at that point, we decided to hold it, which is probably a good decision. But it doesn't have, it really doesn't happen that much. All right. You're watching Close Game at a Friends house and he changes the channel to check another score during commercial. Do you say something? No, I just pulled up my

1:00:51phone. Oh yeah, just to make sure. And if it's commercial, no, but let's say my phone is for some reason lost. Oh my god, I just go home. But still, let's just say it's lost. I would just start timing the commercial. Right. Okay, one minute. Okay, we're to it. All right, let's go flip back. Yeah, let's get it. Let's get it back to the game that matters. How did you feel about ESPN taking the ticker off? You guys even noticed it? Yeah. I mean, because somebody said something. Me too, I think. Same thing. Yeah. And they made a big deal about it. We're removing it. There's a great point though, because we're not watching that to actually find out what scores are. It's just kind of a third-dairy entertainment device. Right. Because if we wanted those score, we put our phone on. Yeah. So I never would have thought to pull it. What did they think the value add by pulling it was more more for the screen? Yeah, more concentrate. Yeah. Hey, I mean, there's just more room for the game, I guess. More grass to be seen. Yeah. I didn't mind when they had the ticker and you kind of see in the other scores. Sometimes it was like, Indie, Euro ping pong. And

1:01:56they'd show scores on that. I'm like, bro, I've been watching this game here. I'm like, stop, stop. Final question. You're a dinner with another couple. They split the check completely wrong in your favor. Do you point it out or just let them pay it? I probably wouldn't even have checked if they just already split the check. Yeah. Yeah. I just would have been like, because normally I try to pick up the tab if we go out with people, especially the first few times, unless it's super awkward and where you got 30 people there and you're trying to figure out the check. But if they just hand me a check and I'd pay it, I wouldn't even check probably how much it was split in which ways. But if I noticed it, I'd say something. I probably wouldn't notice it. You're probably with a note all or you don't even look at that stuff. No, I probably wouldn't notice it. I just expect it price right. You know, you're giving the waitress comes back with three checks and just hands them to you. You don't even look at it. You just go, okay, how much do I help them tip them out and rock and roll? I mean, to you, Bayzo, it's the world just exists. Oh, don't have to buy anything. I have to get a picture. I've got to stop. All right. Last one. All right. You hit a great drive on whole tin and your buddy says, that's the best shot you've hit all day. Do you

1:03:00take it as a complimentary and insult? No, I go, did you forget on six when I chipped that within four feet? Did you forget? I always find a way for compliments to insult me. For example, yeah, for example, yesterday, I had a guy, I know, reach out and say, Hey, I was listening to your podcast about every year of the 90s. So I did this country music podcast and we have one for the year of 1990. We have one for the year of 1991. It is a 10 part series. We released the first five. And we did the top 10 things in country music that year because the 90s are probably the most transcendent decade in country music history. Right. And so Kevin and myself worked very hard on this podcast for many months. And we put it out, put the first five episodes up. I was getting a lot of compliments. But the person that messaged me to say, because I knew him, to say it was really good. He goes, Hey, this is one of my favorite things you've ever done. And he goes, no, think about, I think it's probably my favorite thing you've ever done on podcasts. And I find a way to be insulted and go, I've done stuff that's way better than this. Like I just take the compliment.

1:04:04Yeah, it's not that I wasn't purposefully seeking it. I feel that in my like in my ribs. I'm like, oh, he thinks my other stuff is not good. That's naturally how I feel. I can rationalize and go, that's not what he meant. And also, who cares if that's his favorite thing that's still something that you did, right? Take the compliment. It's like I can take my years of therapy and put it to use these moments. But I initially feel like, oh, no, my feelings are hurt or no, you have no, I did, you know, I've got taste. You don't even know what I've done. That's good. So yeah, I can find a compliment and for sure find a way to make myself feel worse about it. It has created an all time chip that exists on my shoulder. I don't have to go and search for one. It finds me. Man, I'd love to be a fly on the wall in your therapy at sessions. My, I think my therapist sometimes is really enamored with me. She's like, wow, you're a project. Sexist, it's a man. Oh, well, I don't even know why that'd be sexist either way, but yeah, I just did just say that. Did I say she? Yeah, yeah, but there's no sexism there.
