Man Charged in Belfast Police Station Bombing

On May 1st, a 66-year-old man faces attempted murder charges after an explosion targeted
a police station in Dunmery just outside Belfast.
He got arrested Tuesday under the Terrorism Act, right in that area, hit with counts like
causing an explosion, possessing explosives to endanger.
Lives, and even hijacking a vehicle.
Earlier this Saturday night, around 10.50 pm, Thuds hijacked a delivery driver's car and
nearby twinbrook slapped a gas cylinder bomb on it and forced him to ram it toward the
station.
The blast went off in a crowded neighborhood packed with family homes, where kids including
two babies were tucked in bed.
Officers rushed folks to safety, just as it blew, dodging what could have been a nightmare.
Cop's point fingers at the new IRA that dissed it Republican crew for the whole setup.
Full charges also cover tear-related gear.
He has to Liz Burr magistrates court this Saturday, with prosecutors reviewing everything
as the investigation rolls on.
