From ABC News Wall Street Weekend, first to the AI News this weekend, the CEO of Anthropics at Saturday, the artificial intelligence industry should slow down to give safety measures time to catch up. Without it, Dario Amade warned AI could be capable within six to 12 months of leading a swarm that could take over the entire Internet among other risks. In separate posts on X, both open AI founder Sam Altman and Grock leader Elon Musk say they agree. Looking ahead, the Federal Reserve takes center stage this week with a central bank announcing its latest decision on interest rates Wednesday. Investors are looking for a quarter point rate hike after inflation came in hotter than expected in August. But the bigger question may be what the Fed says about its next move. Also Wednesday, the government's August retail sales figures providing a fresh look at consumers spending. Housing data arrives on Thursday with investors watching to see how higher mortgage rates are affecting demand and new construction and Friday a report on US industrial production.
