1:00He published 25 books about the apocalypse near death experiences and his grave digging work Oh, I'm sure that was interesting. Let me read a book about a guy who digs graves because that's very compelling stuff there But no one ever expected that Chad Daybell would be linked to murder until he met a woman named Laurie Valow Talk about gasoline being thrown on the fire, huh these two together knuckle in head Laurie Valow and Chad Daybell first crossed paths in 2018 by that point Valow was obsessed with daybell's literature and eager to discuss religion on his podcast Much like daybell's books a lot of these podcasts focused on the end of the world Though both daybell and Valow were married to other people there was an obvious connection between the two and Again, anybody who's out here talking about the end of the world and the apocalypse and all that other bullshit Please just miss me with it. It's right up there with tarot cards and psychics and all of the rest of that occult nonsense

2:06Their connection was largely based upon a set of bizarre shared beliefs Like that of zombies or people whose souls have been replaced by dark spirits Worryingly Valow soon began to refer to her husband Charles Valow and her children Tyler Ryan and JJ Valow as zombies and before long a Trail of unsettling deaths and disappearances would follow the couple the whole zombie thing is bizarre as well You want zombies watch the walking dead or go down to the local skid row in your town and look at all of the Sentinel Attics and you'll have your fill of zombies Once after Charles Valow filed for divorce he was fatally shot by his former wife's brother in July of 2019 the brother later claimed to have been acting in self-defense Lori Valow backed up the self-defense claim and then relocated from Arizona to Idaho to be closer to daybell Yeah, that wasn't suspicious had nothing to do with the fact that Lori Valow wanted to go and live with Shrek, right?

3:11Nothing at all and Charles Valow was just an inconvenient roadblock that had to be removed And then in September of 2019 Tyler Ryan and JJ Valow vanished Their remains were later found on daybells Idaho property in October 2019 Daybell's wife would also be found dead under suspicious circumstances Now Chad Daybell and Lori Valow are both behind bars suspected of playing a role in all of these deaths But who was Chad Daybell and how did an apocalyptic author end up becoming an alleged murderer The bizarre rise of Chad Daybell Born on August 11th 1968 in Provo, Utah Chad guy Daybell grew up in the Mormon faith His parents, Jack Daybell and Sheila Chestnut Daybell were both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Like many other young Mormons Chad Daybell attended, bring them young University and graduated in 1992 with a degree in Journalism

4:18Daybell briefly served as the managing editor for Cedar Fort Incorporated before starting his own publishing company called Spring Creek Book Company in 2004 Daybell often worked alongside his wife Tammy Daybell whom he had married in 1990 And the couple eventually had five children together Imagine killing your wife the mother of your five children What sort of sick, demented psychopath would do something like that Slowly Daybell began to make a name for himself among the Mormons as both a publisher and the writer Still that wasn't enough to pay the bills, so he also worked as a grave digger and a cemetery sexton to make the ends meet Many authors who worked with Chad Daybell in his early years described having a pleasant experience with a humble man They also said that his religious views appeared to match the more mainstream teachings of the Mormon faith But around 2014 one author named Suzanne Freeman who had released three books with the help of Daybell

5:24Started noticing changes He started publishing non-Mormon doctrine stories and I just told him there is something that's not quite right Freeman said Plus we were working on a book of mind together to take out the LDS stuff and I was kind of surprised By that because he was an LDS author So he started to change right His interests and what he was doing started to morph from mainstream Mormon thought To something a bit more outside of the box and something that obviously morphed into something that turned deadly Daybell would indeed go on to publish 25 of his own books some of which were stranger than others While living on the edge of heaven was based on two near-death experiences that he had The times of turmoil series explored the idea of an apocalyptic America and other traumatic events That would supposedly happen before the second coming of Jesus Christ

6:25Spoiler folks. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on that happening either anytime soon But while Daybell's increasingly bizarre writings would alienate some of his loyal supporters Including Freeman who soon parted ways with them They would also attract a new audience of enthusiastic readers who took his books to heart and his biggest fan was a woman named Laurie Vallow This is like picking up game of thrones and thinking that everything you read inside of that book Israel thinking that you're gonna hop on a boat head over across the narrow sea and get yourself a dragon That's the same thing here. You got to be just as insane to believe any of this is happening Inside the disturbing relationship between Chad Daybell and Laurie Vallow It was around 2017 when Laurie Vallow began reading Chad Daybell's books and according to Vallow's loved ones She soon became obsessed by that point Vallow was already on husband number four Businessman Charles Vallow whom she had married in 2006

7:28She also had three children two of the children Tiley Ryan and Colby Ryan were from previous marriages and one child Joshua J.J. Vallow had been adopted and the whole situation surrounding J.J. Is just so damn sad It makes me so angry to think that these sick bastards would adopt this kid only to kill him I mean for real and it's my guess that it was Chad Daybell and his influence that ended up leading to these children being killed But none of this stopped Vallow from pursuing a relationship with Chad Daybell whom she had first met in 2018 The two soon started doing podcasts together where they discuss several apocalyptic topics and notably Daybell was just as attracted to Vallow as she was to him You know, here's the thing I'm not somebody that says if you get married and you're with somebody that you have to stay with that person for the rest of your life

8:29That's up to you But why do people have to go to this length just get divorced leave your husband leave your wife whatever and move on But the whole entire I'm gonna kill my ex so I can be with the next guy or the next woman That shit is straight up bizarre and I don't understand how anyone could ever come to the conclusion that that is a good idea One friend of the couple Melanie Gibb said that Daybell told Vallow that they had married each other in previous lifetimes Imagine trying to hustle with that kind of pitch that sort of game Hey, baby, you know, I think that you and I were married several times and several different lifetimes I mean for real who the hell is buying that nonsense You have to be straight up insane to buy that BS in the first place But there's Lori Vallow willing to give up her whole ass family for this obvious snake oil salesman And though Vallow lived in Arizona and Daybell lived in Idaho the pair jump started their relationship Gibb said

9:31Lori had one special phone that her and Chad would communicate with and she had a special phone outside of his cell phone number So it was just for their personal communication can only imagine what those conversations consisted of Considering Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell strange beliefs which Gibb admitted she won't share it was clear that this was no ordinary affair According to Gibb the two often discussed the topics of zombies or people whose souls had been replaced by dark spirits Gibb and other former friends of Vallow later said that she started calling her husband and children Zombies and remember this Melanie Gibb lady is the alibi that Lori Vallow tried to use about where JJ was And we know that that alibi was absolutely blown out of the water By January 2019 Charles Vallow was seriously concerned about his wife's behavior And even went so far as to contact the police for help He told them that his wife had threatened to kill him and that she believed that she was a god preparing for the end of the world

10:38In February of that same year He filed for divorce citing fears for his safety and that of the children Sadly Charles Vallow's fears were apparently not unfounded On July 11th 2019 he was fatally shot by Lori Vallow's brother Alex Cox The brother later claimed that he had fired the shot in self-defense to keep his sister safe during a fight with her ex Lori Vallow who said that she had heard the shooting backed up the self-defense claims as did her daughter tiley Ryan And you know that they manipulated tiley to say what she said because it's obvious that Charles Vallow Wasn't killed in self-defense It's obvious that Alex Cox bitch ass shot and killed Charles Vallow Shortly thereafter Lori Vallow relocated her family from Arizona to Idaho to be closer to Chad Debel Who by then was living in Rexburg The story then took another grim turn when two of Vallow's children vanished in September of 2019

11:43tiley Ryan who was 16 at the time disappeared on September 8th and jj valo who was seven at the time vanished on September 22nd and on October 19th 2019 Chad Debel's wife Tammy mysteriously died. Oh mysteriously is it Chad Debel had been the one to call 911 saying that she had passed away in her sleep The mother of his five children his wife for all of these years And this sick animal has no problem killing her So when we talk about the death penalty Chad Debel definitely deserves it in my opinion line that mother Fucker up right against the wall pull out those machine guns and get busy At first investigators believe that the death was natural especially since Tammy Debel had reportedly been suffering from poor health for a while But it wasn't long before that would be called into question While some might have expected Chad Debel to be mourning his wife's death and Lori Vallow to be desperately searching for her missing children

12:45Neither of those things happened instead just weeks after the shocking incidents Debel and Vallow booked a trip to Hawaii to get married Imagine imagine these people thinking that they were actually going to get away with this A series of horrific revelations Many who knew Chad Debel were stunned to hear that he had married Lori Vallow so quickly after his wife had died I thought Chad really loved his wife said Suzanne Freeman the author who used to work with Chad Debel Why would he marry that soon? This doesn't make any sense. She's not even cold in the grave Even more shocking was his choice of a new bride Why would a man want a mario woman that didn't know where her children were? Freeman said I just couldn't believe it. Yeah, I hear that I mean imagine dating a woman or being with a woman and she can't even tell you where her kids are Yeah, past so obviously We all know that Chad Debel was in on it, but I'm just talking about in general terms

13:46Like there's some bizarre shit that I hear in these stories that we read and I say to myself how in that hell didn't you see the red flags Chad and Lori Vallow Debel returned to Idaho where witnesses heard them say that Lori had no minor children Her sole remaining son Kobe Ryan is in his early 20s But authorities soon launched a national search for the missing kids So Chad and Lori Vallow Debel flew back to Hawaii in December of 2019 It was reported that Chad Debel was booted from the Mormon church for declaring himself to be a prophet Yeah, you're a prophet buddy a real prophet more like an absolute moron of prophet of stupidity perhaps As investigators looked for JJ Vallow and Tyler Ryan they also became suspicious about Tammy Debel's death They even exhumed her body for an autopsy which had not been conducted shortly after her death since her children Where convinced that her demise had been natural

14:48Imagine her kids. I haven't begun to talk about them yet Imagine Chad Debel and Tammy Debel's kids what they must think about all of this I have a whole lot of empathy and compassion for those kids. Let me tell you By January of 2020 Authorities had formally ordered Lori Vallow Debel to produce her children Since she refused to do so she was arrested in Hawaii on February 20th 2020 Shortly thereafter she was extradited to Idaho as the months dragged on some of her former friends like Melanie Gibb Began to reveal shocking details about her and her new husband For instance Gibb revealed the couple's view on zombies She also said that they insisted that they couldn't divorce their previous spouses Because of information they were receiving from the other side of the veil Imagine saying that shit and thinking anyone's gonna believe it besides the most ardent Sikofants because regular people breaking news. We don't believe any of this bullshit

15:50Perhaps most shocking they believe that they were chosen to lead 144,000 people who were preparing for the second coming of Jesus Christ if I had a nickel According to Gibb Chad Debel insisted on meeting with people one-on-one to discuss religion And never held any official gatherings with people who shared his views So it's unclear how many people believed his claims But there's no doubt he had an influence on those who did like Gibb I often see Chad as the hand and Lori as the puppet on the hand. I think that's fair I think that Lori Vallow was somebody that was easily malleable And then somebody like Chad Debel He saw that and he exploited that Does that make her not responsible for her actions or for what happened to those kids? No But I recognize that Chad Debel was the driving force here Despite the shocking revelations and his new wife's arrest Chad Debel remained free

16:51Until the police and the FBI decided to search his Idaho property On June 9th 2020 authorities found human remains which were later revealed to belong to Tiley Ryan and JJ Vallow Tiley Ryan's body had been dismembered and burned and JJ Vallow's body was wrapped from head to toe induct tape Chad Debel was promptly arrested and I couldn't be a cop honestly If I was arresting somebody for something like this They definitely have one of those and I'm using air quotes here if folks one of those trips and falls you see all the time Yeah, they'd have one of those Since that gruesome discovery Chad Debel has been charged in connection with the deaths of Tiley Ryan JJ Vallow and Tammy Debel Meanwhile Lori Vallow Debel has been charged in connection with the deaths of Tiley Ryan JJ Vallow Tammy Debel and Charles Vallow According to authorities Lori Vallow Debel's brother Alex Cox would also be charged Had he and not already died of natural causes in December of 2019 natural causes is it

17:58While it's clear that Cox fired the shot that killed Charles Vallow Cox's cell phone GPS was also placed on Chad Debel's property The day after Tiley Ryan had disappeared and the day after JJ Vallow had disappeared And just 10 days before Tammy Debel died She reported getting shot at in her driveway by a defective paintball gun Now investigators believe that it was an actual gun and that Cox was once again behind the trigger A trial for Chad and Lori Vallow Debel Was set for January but is now split And one can only guess how many more twists in the case will emerge before then And I don't think there's a doubt that there's going to be some more twists and turns before this is all said and done But as for now that's going to do it for this one All of the information that goes with the episode can be found in the description box Everyone and welcome back to the program Chad Debel and Lori Vallow were originally scheduled to be tried together for their alleged crimes

19:01However, after some back and forth in the courtroom between Chad Debel's attorneys And the judge it was decided that the court would sever their cases and try them individually And one of the reasons for that is Chad Debel's lawyer and Chad Debel They say that their version of events is going to differ from Lori Vallow's version of events So we've talked a lot about the fact that Lori Vallow might try and blame Chad Debel But what about Chad Debel pointing the fingers at Lori Vallow And when you're facing the death penalty or life in prison I would think that we'd see at least at some point here one of these two turning on each other And with the trial being split I believe that is way more likely than if they were being tried together So it's going to be interesting to see what happens as this continues to evolve And what sort of legal strategy Lori and her team are going to come up with Because you know they said it wasn't Lori right

21:05Chad Debel's defense will be diametrically different from his wife's And their trials should be held separately his attorney says Chad and Lori Debel are charged with multiple counts of first degree murder And conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of seven-year-old Joshua J.J. Vallow And 16-year-old Tiley Ryan two of Lori's kids along with Chad's previous wife Tami Debel Their cases are conjoined but during a hearing with district judge Stephen Boyce At the Fremont County Courthouse on Thursday morning John Prior Chad's attorney argued they need to be severed Our version of the facts of this case will differ greatly from what Ms. Vallow and her legal counsel are going to be presenting prior said Our defense is diametrically different than Ms. Vallow's and the cases need to be separated And again look I don't have any kind of inside information as to what Lori Vallow's team is thinking Or Chad Debel's but it just makes sense to me that at this point it is every man or woman for themselves

22:09And self-preservation is going to come into play Do you really think Chad Debel wants to be the guy blamed for killing these kids? Of course he doesn't and the same obviously goes for Lori Vallow And I have zero doubt that before all is said and done There's going to be a bunch of accusations flying from both camps about who is responsible for what Meanwhile the rest of us are sitting here saying that they both deserve the volcano wearing a white shirt and dark red tie Chad sat silently next to prior for the hour-long hearing Boys did not allow cameras in the courtroom A few members of the public and several Rexburg police and Fremont County Sheriff detectives Observe the proceedings The hearing was scheduled after prior filed a lengthy motion to sever in September And I'm guessing that as they went through all of their plans and all of the evidence That they suspected that eventually at some point Lori was going to turn on Chad and point the finger at him

23:10So are they trying to get the jump on Lori by doing that themselves again We don't know But I think all the signs are there for both of them to try and turn on each other And I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be Chad Debel who makes the move first There is a significant amount of information in this case And the result could be the defendant is put to death Given the severity of the consequences, the courts and federal courts have made it a habit to sever capital cases Prior argued now we know that Lori Valo is not facing the death penalty So that's off the table But Chad Debel however, this dude certainly is facing the death penalty And hopefully if he's convicted he gets it Prior mentioned that Chad has waived his right to his speedy trial while Lori has not Her case is on hold until her mental competency can be determined A hearing was held on that issue Wednesday afternoon But it is unknown what occurred as proceedings are sealed

24:10Lori also faces conspiracy to commit murder charge in Arizona for the death of her fourth husband Charles Valo Prior says he plans to use information from that case during his defense arguments for Chad You know all these little things that are being said by prior they have meaning And it's going to lead to Chad Debel trying to pin this all on Lori Valo Wait and see that's my prediction I don't make many of those but that is certainly my prediction here There was a documentary done by Netflix that portrayed this case in a way I don't necessarily agree with they talked about the allegations of what Ms. Valo was allegedly involved in Down in Arizona prior said I am going to be petitioning the court to allow me to use a certain amount of information As it relates to Arizona So is he going to try and pin it on Valo by saying Lori Valo was the brains behind the operation And she was the one that roped Chad Debel in

25:11That's going to be a brazen strategy and if that's the one they're going to use I'm very interested to see how the gerium the court reacts to that kind of strategy Prior also mentioned a concern about gender stereotyping And reference to evidence that shows when it comes to capital cases Jerry sentence meant the death more than women Well, we don't have to worry about that. That's a mood point now Considering Lori Valo is not facing the death penalty and the cases have been severed Freemont County prosecuting attorney Lindsay Blake argued against the motion for severance And said prior had not met the heavy burden defendants bear to have a judge severer case Severance is a last ditch effort. It's meant to be used when no other remedy is available. Blake said Blake argued joint trials are preferred for multiple reasons including minimizing the risk of inconsistent verdicts efficiently using the court Government and witness resources and they can prevent gamesmanship

26:11Well, we know that there's going to be gamesmanship without a doubt Chad Debel is going to watch what happens with Lori Valo And he's going to make some moves based on that There's zero doubt that that's going to occur And for Chad Debel he kind of lucked out by being tried second Because he can get an idea of what the prosecution has now and try and set his defense Said the evidence and witnesses in the Debel cases are similar if not identical And it only makes sense to keep them together This is set to be a 10 week trial We're talking about a severance that would result in a total of 20 week trials between the two Blake said And sometimes that can't be avoided Obviously you want things to run smoothly and if it can be done at the same time concurrently Then that's what you do But at other times you have to make sure that everything is on the up and up So you're not giving anybody a chance to go for that you know new trial on appeal And say there was a technicality because the court

27:12Shit on your constitutional rights So you have to make sure as the judge and the court That you're in lockstep with all of the policies and that the letter of the law has followed to a T Blake suggested one solution to potential problems could be having two juries in session during a joint trial One for Lori and one for Chad if witness or evidence issues were raised that did not apply to one defendant That particular jury could leave the courtroom that seems like it could get rather confusing though I don't know if I'd be down with that and I think what judge boys did was the right move here Obviously, it's gonna make things longer. It drags it out a little bit But it keeps things more uniformed and buttoned down Boyz asked if there had been confessions to the crimes from either Chad or Lori Blake and prior both said they were unaware of any The judge said he will consider the motion to sever and issue a written order at a later date Both Chad and Lori have pleaded not guilty to all charges

28:14So as you can see here and from the other context articles we've been talking about they all seem to infer That Chad daybell is going his own way here and that he's going to point the finger at Lori valo Now as far as Lori valo is concerned I don't know what her deal is going to be like if she truly truly believes in all this stuff They were talking about then Chad daybell is the voice of god as far as she's concerned So is she going to turn on Chad daybell and try and point the finger at him or is Lori going to blame Alex Cox Because we already heard in the opening statements that Lori had nothing to do with this So if it wasn't Lori then it had to be Alex or Chad And on the flip side of that Chad saying well look We have to sever this trial because our stories are going to basically be opposing stories So it's gonna be real interesting to see how this all plays out And with Lori valo on trial now and Chad daybell getting a good look at what the prosecution has

35:28That turned deadly daybell would indeed go on to publish 25 of his own books some of which were stranger than others while living on the edge of heaven was based on two near-death experiences that he had The times of turmoil series explored the idea of an apocalyptic America and other traumatic events that would supposedly happen before the second coming of Jesus Christ Spoiler folks. You got to be just as insane to believe any of this is happening Inside the disturbing relationship between chat daybell and Lori Vallow It was around 2017 when Lori Vallow began reading chat daybell's books and according to Vallow's loved ones She soon became obsessed by that point Vallow was already on husband number four Businessman Charles Vallow whom she had married in 2006 She also had three children two of the children Tiley Ryan and Colby Ryan were from previous marriages and one child Joshua J.J. Vallow had been adopted And the whole situation surrounding J.J. is just so damn sad It makes me so angry to think that these sick bastards would adopt this kid only to kill him I mean for real and it's my guess that it was chat daybell and his influence that ended up leading to these children being killed

37:30But none of this stopped Vallow from pursuing a relationship with chat daybell whom she had first met in 2018 The two soon started doing podcasts together where they discussed several apocalyptic topics and notably Daybell was just as attracted to Vallow as she was to him You know, here's the thing I'm not somebody that says if you get married and you're with somebody that you have to stay with that person for the rest of your life That's up to you But why do people have to go to this length just get divorced leave your husband leave your wife whatever and move on But the whole entire I'm gonna kill my ex so I can be with the next guy or the next woman That shit is straight up bizarre and I don't understand how anyone could ever come to the conclusion that that is a good idea One friend of the couple Melanie Gibb said that daybell told Vallow that they had married each other in previous lifetimes Imagine trying to hustle with that kind of pitch that sort of game

38:33Hey, baby, you know, I think that you and I were married several times and several different lifetimes I mean for real who the hell is buying that nonsense you have to be straight up insane to buy that BS in the first place But there's Lori Vallow willing to give up her whole ass family for this obvious snake oil salesman And though Vallow lived in Arizona and daybell lived in Idaho the pair jump started their relationship gibb said Lori had one special phone that her and Chad would communicate with and she had a special phone outside of his cell phone number So it was just for their personal communication can only imagine what those conversations consisted of Considering Lori Vallow and Chad daybell strange beliefs which Gibb admitted she won't share it was clear that this was no ordinary affair According to Gibb the two often discussed the topics of zombies or people whose souls had been replaced by dark spirits Gibb and other former friends of Vallow later said that she started calling her husband and children

39:37Zombies and remember this Melanie Gibb lady is the alibi that Lori Vallow tried to use about where J.J. was And we know that that alibi was absolutely blown out of the water By January 2019 Charles Vallow was seriously concerned about his wife's behavior And even went so far as to contact the police for help He told them that his wife had threatened to kill him and that she believed that she was a god preparing for the end of the world In February of that same year he filed for divorce citing fears for his safety and that of the children Sadly Charles Vallow's fears were apparently not unfounded on July 11th 2019 he was fatally shot by Lori Vallow's brother Alex Cox The brother later claimed that he had fired the shot in self-defense to keep his sister safe during a fight with her ex Lori Vallow who said that she had heard the shooting backed up the self-defense claims As did her daughter tiley Ryan

40:40And you know that they manipulated tiley to say what she said because it's obvious that Charles Vallow Wasn't killed in self-defense It's obvious that Alex Cox bitch ass shot and killed Charles Vallow Shortly thereafter Lori Vallow relocated her family from Arizona to Idaho to be closer to Chad Daybell Who by then was living in Rexburg The story then took another grim turn when two of Vallow's children vanished in September of 2019 tiley Ryan who was 16 at the time disappeared on September 8th and JJ Vallow who was seven at the time vanished on September 22nd and on October 19th 2019 Chad Daybell's wife Tammy mysteriously died. Oh mysteriously is it Chad Daybell had been the one to call 911 saying that she had passed away in her sleep The mother of his five children his wife for all of these years and this sick animal has no problem killing her

41:42So when we talk about the death penalty Chad Daybell definitely deserves it in my opinion Line that motherfucker up right against the wall pull out those machine guns and get busy At first investigators believe that the death was natural Especially since Tammy Daybell had reportedly been suffering from poor health for a while But it wasn't long before that would be called into question While some might have expected Chad Daybell to be mourning his wife's death and Lori Vallow to be desperately searching for her missing children Neither of those things happened instead just weeks after the shocking incidents Daybell and Vallow booked a trip to Hawaii to get married Imagine imagine these people thinking that they were actually going to get away with this A series of horrific revelations Many who knew Chad Daybell were stunned to hear that he had married Lori Vallow so quickly after his wife had died I thought Chad really loved his wife said Suzanne Freeman the author who used to work with Chad Daybell

47:01JJ Vallow and Tammy Daybell Meanwhile Lori Vallow Daybell has been charged in connection with the deaths of Tiley Ryan JJ Vallow Tammy Daybell and Charles Vallow According to authorities Lori Vallow Daybell's brother Alex Cox would also be charged Had he and not already died of natural causes in December of 2019 natural causes is it While it's clear that Cox fired the shot that killed Charles Vallow Cox's cell phone GPS was also placed on Chad Daybell's property The day after Tiley Ryan had disappeared and the day after JJ Vallow had disappeared And just 10 days before Tammy Daybell died She reported getting shot at in her driveway by a defective paintball gun Now investigators believe that it was an actual gun and that Cox was once again behind the trigger A trial for Chad and Lori Vallow Daybell Was set for January but is now split And one can only guess how many more twists in the case will emerge before then

1:01:24In fall of 2019, prosecutors say he tried to fraudulently collect on his late wife's life insurance And Valow continued to collect both children's social security benefits after they died Chad Debel pleaded not guilty to the charges and the trial is expected to take more than two months Prosecutors said they will seek the death penalty if Debel is convicted Debel's defense attorney, John Pryor, did not return phone calls requesting comment The judge is issued a gag order in the case, barring attorneys from talking to the media until the trial is over And it seems like every single judge just issues a gag order from the very jump now That's something that's going to have to be addressed by the Supreme Court because I think a lot of these courts and judges are taking advantage of the gag order and how it's supposed to be used Not every judge obviously, but when the scope is just so broad, that's when it needs to be addressed And it seems like a lot of these gag orders are a bit overbroad

1:02:26The grim story began in the fall of 2019 when extended family members reported the two children missing and law enforcement officials launched a search that spanned several states The subsequent investigation took several unexpected turns Valow and Chad Debel were having an affair when both of their spouses died unexpectedly Investigators said Valow's husband was shot to death by her brother Alex Cox in Arizona In July of 2019 the brother told police it was in self-defense. And if you haven't watched the documentary on Netflix watch it and you'll understand what I mean There is no doubt that Alex Cox assassinated Charles Valow zero doubt Several months later in October 2019 Tammy Debel died Chad Debel initially told police she was battling a illness and died in her sleep But an autopsy later determined she died of his fixation Valow and Chad Debel married just two weeks after Tammy Debel died

1:03:29Surprising family members and drawing suspicion from the authorities Friends later told detectives that Valow and Chad Debel believed that they had been reincarnated and were tasked with gathering people before a biblical apocalypse Wood said Chad Debel describe both children as being possessed before they disappeared And that he repeatedly predicted to friends that Tammy Debel would soon die The bodies of the children were eventually found buried on Chad Debel's property Tyler Ryan's remains had been dismembered and burned and JJ's remains were bound All right, so it's going to be very interesting to see how Chad Debel is going to progress from here when it comes to his defense And we'll be able to get a little bit more of an idea of which way that defense is going to go Later on today when the proceedings pick back up Inside of the courtroom and like usual after the proceedings will have a recap of what went down Throughout the day
