Mizzou's Season Ends in NCAA Loss to Miami

On March 24th, the Mizzou men's basketball team's roller coaster season wrapped up Friday

night with a first-round NCAA tournament loss to Miami.

The 10th-seated Tigers fell 80-66 against the 7th-seated Hurricanes in St. Louis, playing

in front of a near-home crowd.

A few Tigers shown brightly, like Jaden Stone with 21 points and 6 rebounds, Anthony Robinson

the second with 11 points and key steals, and Mark Mitchell finishing with 19 points

despite a slow start, but others struggled hard with three players combining for just

two field goals out of 22 tries.

Miami dominated the boards, out-rebounding Mizzou, 46-30 overall, and 16-7 on the

offensive end.

That edge led to 19 second chance points for the Hurricanes, which proved too much for

the Tigers to overcome.

The game stayed tight at times, with Mizzou rallying late in the first half and even grabbing

a brief lead in the second, but Miami's hot three-point shooting and a late 11-to-nothing

run sealed the win, pushing their lead to double digits down the stretch.

Mizzou ends the year 20 wins and 13 losses, including 10-8 in the southeastern conference.

The fight they showed offers some hope moving forward, even if the ending stung.
