Sl: Mateja je sedela na klopci, zavita v topel plašč, in opazovala odsev lunine svetlobe na gladini morja.
En: Mateja sat on the bench, wrapped in a warm coat, watching the reflection of the moonlight on the surface of the sea.
Sl: Bilo je hladno zimsko popoldne v Piranu.
En: It was a cold winter afternoon in Piran.
Sl: Njeno srce je bilo polno misli o novem začetku.
En: Her heart was full of thoughts about a new beginning.
Sl: Prišla je iz Ljubljane za kratek oddih, da bi našla navdih za svoj nov projekt.
En: She had come from Ljubljana for a short break to find inspiration for her new project.
Sl: Vedela je, da potrebuje svež pogled in morda več odpiranja svetu, ki je doslej ostajal na obrobju njene arhitekturne kariere.

En: "Mateja, we have to go!
Sl: To bo nova priložnost, da se sprostiš in morda srečaš koga zanimivega," je rekla Nika z iskrico v očeh.
En: This will be a new chance for you to relax and maybe meet someone interesting," said Nika with a sparkle in her eye.
Sl: Ob deveti uri zvečer je Piranov trg oživel.
En: At nine o'clock in the evening, Piran's square came alive.
Sl: Lučke so svetile kot zvezde, glasba iz zvočnikov pa je vabila ljudi k plesu.
En: The lights shone like stars, and the music from the speakers invited people to dance.
Sl: Mateja je oklevala, stopica na mestu, vendar jo je Nika prijela za roko in povlekla proti množici.
En: Mateja hesitated, shuffling her feet, but Nika took her hand and pulled her towards the crowd.
Sl: "Daj no, ne boš ves večer sedela tu," jo je spodbudila.
En: "Come on, you won't sit here all evening," she encouraged her.
Sl: Rok, lokalni glasbenik, je na odru igral kitaro.
En: Rok, a local musician, was playing the guitar on stage.
Sl: V njegovih pesmih je bilo čutiti strast in sanje po večjem priznanju.
En: His songs were filled with passion and dreams of greater recognition.
Sl: Medtem ko so se pesmi dvigale in padale kot valovi, je Mateja začutila nekaj posebnega v njegovem igranju.

En: "Beautiful evening, isn't it?"
