Now the news. I'm Shane Bigum. Foreign travel to China continued to rise through the first eight months of the year. Visitors made over 61 million trips from January through August. Up 19.5 percent, more than 23.7 million of the entry it's remade visa-free. China steadily eased visa rules to allow longer stays and wider travel for international visitors, as part of efforts to facilitate cross-border exchanges and boost in bound tourism. The country currently offers unilateral visa-free entry to nationals from 50 countries, while its 10-day visa-free transit program covers 57 countries. China and over 40 international partners have established an alliance to fight cross-border telecom in cyber-fraught. On Thursday, representatives from the partner countries established the alliance during its inaugural conference in Lien-Yung-Gung, China. For international organizations, including the UN and Interpol also participated. Initiated by the Chinese government, the Alliance aims to promote cooperation among law enforcement agencies in the fight against fraud and other crimes.

According to the China Association of Automanufactures, any of the production exceeded 1.6 million units last month up nearly 19 percent. Sales increased by a similar number, recording a gain of nearly 18 percent. New energy vehicles accounted for a record at 60.6 percent of total new car sales. China's auto exports also remained strong, reaching more than a million vehicles in August up 65.3 percent. New energy vehicle exports served to 130 percent to 526,000 units. New energy vehicles have accounted for more than half of China's total auto exports for three months, meaning roughly one in every two cars exported is now a new energy vehicle. Every official, say the figures show China's auto exports are increasingly driven by electric vehicle technology. The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai says business confidence is seen as sharp rebound among a surveyed member companies operating in China. The 2026 China Business Report says 58 percent respondents are now optimistic about China's

five-year business outlook, up 17 points from the previous survey. Profitability rebounded to its highest levels since 2019, with 78 percent respondents reporting profits in 2025. Authorities have confirmed 16 deaths after a rain-tiggered landslide struck Suitran County in Jiangxi Province. Days of torrential rain have caused a series of disasters in the county, as of Wednesday afternoon, over 18,000 residents have evacuated homes in the affected areas. China's national climate center is providing Nepal with climate monitoring and forecasting services to support rescue and relief efforts following the severe mudslide along the border of the two countries. The China Meteorological Administration says the center activated an emergency response and is using China's AI-powered Masu weather warning system to deliver a customized climate information to Nepal. The service includes regular monitoring of temperature, rainfall, and drought conditions, as well as forecasts for up to 60 days. The center is also providing outlooks on major climate patterns, including Elmenio.

Since August 28, the China supplied Nepal with rolling 15-30-day climate outlooks to assist post-disaster rescue and relief operations. A glacier collapsed heard the disaster on August 26, causing a massive ice-rock avalanche and debris flow. The climate support is part of a broader meteorological cooperation between China and Nepal following the disaster. At least five people have died and 87 remain missing. After a vessel caught fire on Wednesday off the waters of a tourist hotspot in Palo and province of the Philippines. The fire broke out on Wednesday evening aboard the vessel, which was carrying 117 passengers and 17 crew members. The local Coast Guard said 42 people were rescued. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Eight countries, including Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, and Jordan have welcomed Britain's decision to ban imports from Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory. In a joint statement, the four ministers of the country has also welcomed Britain's decision to introduce restrictions on services linked to such settlements. The ministers reiterated their call for Israel to rescind all measures taken in connection

with settlement activities. A stress that the only viable path to achieving a just and lasting peace is the implementation of the two-state solution. US Tech-Grein Apple's unveiled its first foldable smartphone iPhone Duo, along with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Apple has redesigned parts of its iOS 27 operating system to accommodate the foldable form.
