to
Springfield talk one four one I'm Nick Reed welcome to the show hour number three as we
undertake our third hour here at the Friday Road Show I just feel like I was going to
redeem myself there. Now a reminder Monday there in Chapel will be in for me Tuesday. James
Clary will be in for me and after that I will be back so that'll be Wednesday I'll be back to
join all of you Sarah will be here so of course everyone will still be in absolutely
and tremendous hands there's a little bit of discussion and controversy over the extension of
the Pfizer stuff this these are the courts in place that essentially by default allow our
government without a warrant to spy on us it's the same court that was used as part of the coup
against Donald Trump yet Donald Trump has supported the extension of this and a number of Republicans
have attempted to stop that from occurring but it appears as if it has passed it's interesting
Tulsi Gabbard reports that privately behind the scenes while she's got a certain background
of back and forth on this for a number of reasons but that she was encouraging Trump not to have
this extended but to do away with this so I'll get you updated on where all that stands coming
up just a moment right now the latest news on the Ozarks for studios I'm Bayley Stroll
we now know two tornadoes touched down in the Clinton area as part of the severe storms that
moved through Wednesday evening they dealt damage to as many as seven structures thankfully no
injuries were reported at least one building was completely destroyed and an elementary and
intermediate schools roofs were damaged causing the district to cancel some in-person classes
today for some students several power poles and large trees were also knocked down causing
damage to homes keep an eye on the forecast and stay tuned to color 10 as more storms are
expected along and north of i 44 Friday night if you're a fan of classic cars you have the
opportunity to see historic Corvettes on display in Springfield at the Expo Center this weekend
it runs Friday from nine until four over 80 classic Corvettes will be there Bayley Stroll Ozarks
first and the first alert forecast from Ozarks first meteorologist Tom Schmidt sponsored by
St. Clair of the Ozarks home improvements today we'll see a slight chance for scatter showers
otherwise cloudy with a high near 82 tonight showers and thunderstorms with a low around 45
four year Saturday a chance for rain in the morning and then mostly sunny in the afternoon with
a high near 59 and taking a look at Sunday areas of frost before 8 a.m. otherwise sunny with a
high near 68 Lori Rocco's arts elder law stopping by to say hey and yeah oh let me turn
me up there you were on Tom March level headphones so they're much better for you
he has supersonic hearing yeah I do not ask my husband yeah you can have normal hearing and it's
still not the hearing that Tom March has that is his superpower which other than Eve's dropping
on people I don't know really what good it does you yeah so yeah my my own mother had her first
sit down consultation I guess if you will at the Joplin location of Windsor okay good and so it was
great to you know because she had or actually I called her later in the day and she's like oh
I just got back and she was you know talking to me about it she was very pleased with herself a lot
of things that she had done were things that she had been told actually not was pretty good good
and just a few little areas of things and so she's doing a little more homework and then
has an upcoming appointment I forget I think in a few weeks in order to just sort of wrap things up
but but it's it she feels better about this is one of the things I've talked about it's not just
you know financial security in terms of having final say over your own life your own
dollars the where you want them to go when you pass but just the emotional security of knowing
this is taken care of yeah and for me not just as a recipient of some of all of that but just knowing
she feels better yeah peace of mind is the goal yeah yeah well and it does it yeah great good
glad to hear it and so of course there's like ten area locations she had hit the Joplin one I think
the the her second one she actually scheduled four springfield that way I can kind of come along
and we could do lunch we like to do lunch together when she's in town yeah and so you all were
very accommodating in order to make that happen yes so kudos to all of you folks there good I'm glad
to hear she had a great experience yep makes me very happy that's that's what our that's our why
our goal so why did you decide to do all this I mean was there something
yeah yeah I mean so my mom was taking care of my grandmother back in 2011 I was in a different
area of practice I was more on the civil litigation side of being an attorney and she would call me
and ask me questions about things she had moved mom in from Illinois with her and I was like I
don't know this is I yeah and then I kind of learned that this was actually an area of law and
there was only one firm in the area at the time that did that and so I was looking at making
kind of a shift in the area that I was focusing on so landed in this arena was able to actually
take over that firm as that attorney was retiring it was just kind of a you know timing thing
that worked out and so and when I got involved I was like there is a huge need for this
and then we learned a lot of people weren't able to get to us in that demographic because of various
you know or maybe just not even wanting to get on the interstate or the highway and so we kind
of opened up a few little satellite offices and just kept hearing the same thing over wow thank you
we've heard of you you know it's so easy for us to come now so it is insane now that I know what I
know about this through you that there was only one option for people because every person over
the age of 18 this is like a no-brainer thing and you think of it's not just Springfield proper
but the surrounding areas and the fact that that's crazy to me yeah I mean we have a lot of
retirees here too especially just even in like the brain center area so coming back here
to be closer to families and so multi-generational issues there so which sometimes kind of bleed
into well my parents you know really advise that we need to talk about these things too and we
want to make it better for our children so it's not unusual for us to say you know three generations
yeah all right so now that I've covered everything I wanted to anything in particular today you
want people to know we are I've done this before but we're getting ready to do our kind of seminars
on scams yeah so senior scams so we're we're gonna start in Springfield location April 28
it's gonna be 11 o'clock and we're just gonna put on a presentation of kind of you know things
to watch for things on our end you can do to prepare for protecting your loved one but also just
kind of what's trending right now I mean there's always something new out there and just kind of
talking to people about you know this is this is what you need to do if this happens to you so
this is just I mean I've got to text this morning that I had a toll I'm like Missouri doesn't even
have tolls you know so yeah so I've had a family member call me before I'm like there's no
tolls in Missouri this is a scam yeah well and they pop up with such frequency they're hard to keep
on top of and I would argue a seminar like this like you know you mentioned I think people here
Ozark's elder along like why not elderly I'm not gonna be susceptible this first off there's
someone in your life that probably is and so they may mention this to you and you can say mom or
dad that's a scam but that doesn't hold the same weight as listen I have friends at Ozark's elder
law I just went to a thing about this this very thing was talked about that gives it credibility
yeah so because a lot of times the closer you are to someone the less likely they are to see you
as an expert yeah and it's this weird sort of human reaction and the further someone is away
the more of an expert so me telling someone that I know that I'm family with hey that's a scam
doesn't hold as much weight as listen Ozark's elder law they held a seminar on this this is a scam
that somehow clicks and so I would just recommend you know this seminar coming up yeah we're gonna do
we're gonna do them kind of all over Southwest Missouri just um but you know anything that we can do
to kind of get education out there and help people we we have a front row seat to it we see it
all the time and well and even aside from the you may have someone in your life that will be
targeted you could be targeted this isn't 10 years ago where these scams as a quote younger person
you're like oh well clearly this is they are making these things so sophisticated that it I
mean they're constantly adjusting to make themselves seem more legitimate so anyone can get caught
up in this stuff yep all right where so April 28th you said 11 o'clock where's that gonna be in our
sprinkled office um twenty thirty two South Ingram Hill Road we're gonna get we'll put some
stuff out on socials about it so all right awesome well Lori Rook always a pleasure have a great
week in Ozark's elder law calm thank you you bet also under Nixon Dorsen it's a KSGF calm I'm
one of our I think it's fair to say at this point we've gotten ourselves into territory of long
term partnership that we have is with warriors journey which is just such an incredible organization
and you know a lot a lot of um we we do promote have a lot of public service and out and stuff
and a lot of organizations that we promote their events that are real meaningful but we do like
to really have one it's real meaningful that we partner with in a more consistent way in order to
just I don't know have a greater focus and we look for one that's just extremely meaningful
I'm such a big proponent of meaningful efforts because there's so many different organizations and
and even well meaning and charities out there that they're just I don't know that they don't
measure results sometimes you can't even really identify what it is that the goal is um and I
prefer to focus on those that operate differently in the Warriors journey is one of those they
also of course help out with our heroes breakfast Kevin Weaver is with us and we've all heard him
before well I'm sure in a number of places but here on KSGF as well and as president of Warriors
journey you guys have the big it's now here's the debate is a gala gala you know that's it's
funny you mentioned that does it depend on your tax bracket yeah right I think some people say
tomato some you know you know it's like I think it's I think it's accepted both ways but I typically say
gala but other people that have a little bit more right higher tax bracket that's it that's it's
fine which is totally but we actually like those people to attend so it's actually I'm sure before
before we get to the that information if you can just quickly run down for people they've heard
us talk about Warriors journey and they know it's veteran but they don't know exactly what it is
you all do yeah you bet I appreciate that so you know we help heal invisible wounds you know
it was really a gap that we recognized years ago that this is our 10th year in active public
distribution of good services resources to our military members and the veteran community as
well as their families so that's I think another distinctive and we do it through relational
advocacy you know everybody that comes to us we they automatically get connected to what we call
a battle buddy a word connector of like experience and you know for us it's really all about
creating trust that allows them to be vulnerable in a way that is comfortable for them and then when
they're vulnerable we can treat us the real needs and then we can assess those needs and hit it
whether it's through a mental health kind of thing maybe it's a combat trauma you know recover
kind of experience workshop we have we have a myriad of different programs and services to
82 other organizations that we have vetted very heavily that really align with us and we've
locked arms and offer a plethora of opportunities one of the areas in which we've really talked about
is the troubles oftentimes that veterans have when they really are at that breaking point and they
need to talk with someone and while there are other venues out there that might do that as one
of their many options oftentimes they're connected up with someone that did not see the same things
that they did experience the same things and your appointments formants down the road whereas you
all it's almost like a 911 call it is it's immediate you know it we do two-sage prevention we do a
lot of prevention services we don't want folks to get to that place in crisis so if there's
anything we can do to provide for that we we really focus a lot on that but there there is also
the other side the you know there's sometimes it's they're at a point and you know I will tell
you that a lot of these folks men and women they don't necessarily realize you know the depth of
what it is they're dealing with battles that are in and they just suppress it ignore and override
until they can't and then when they can it's like yeah it could be sometimes sometimes it's fairly
dramatic so whatever that is we're there and we're we're able to respond immediately to them
we've had over now 30,000 case management engagements in the last 10 years over 5200 direct
suicide interventions and with a 99 percent success rate and we're really thankful for that but
but we we give credit to the fact that it's holistic you know we're we're talking about the five
pillars of resiliency that the military focus is on physical emotional social psychological and
of course even the spiritual component we're not afraid to talk about this thing so I think
that's what makes it makes it healthy and good and and I think for the most part we're going to
find oh I think that's the final thing as we customize you know we we don't have like this
cricket cutter thing at the customization sure Kevin Weaver warriors journey with this
upcoming gala okay yeah so seventh annual it's hard to believe and this is a national gala gala
gala book all the gala gala it's a national event and so we have people coming in from all over
the country but of course a lot of our folks right here in our local community in a big shout out
to our corporate sponsors you know folks like Toyota Legacy Bank so many I got I'm gonna I'm
I'm gonna fail to make if I better stop because I'm gonna forget it there's just there's there's
dozens and dozens of folks and we so appreciate it but Sal junta he's our our guest today or this
week this year sorry this year coming up may second it'll be Saturday may second the VIP event
starts at 4.30 doors open for the for the for the gala at six and we're gonna have a great time
in Sal is a Medal of Honor recipient he has an amazing story also a big supporter of what we do
fact he's been very helpful to even refer a bunch of his buddies you know that he's he's been
involved with so it's gonna be a great night of inspiration I will tell you that yes yes we do
it there is a combination of fundraising fun options that kind of stuff but we talk a lot about
stories and we share what's happening and I guarantee that if you come you'll be inspired I think
encouraged and as we celebrate the 250th celebration of our country you know nothing could in my
mind be better than to recognize those who have made that freedom possible in this area like
throughout the country there are a tremendous number of these sorts of events annual and nature
that are of their own personality but I'll tell you having not been to the gala Jeremy
Wal-Mac whom you know he's our guy that has sort of works with you all and he went I believe it
was last year and he said I never in his life has he been to one that was as impressive and well
put together it's it's just the best that I've ever experienced before well we work really hard
to give a great experience to the folks it's it's kind of a recap a thank you we want people to
you know when you sometimes and I give to multiple different charities I love you know there's
everything but it's really nice when you can you can come and say hey this is what my investment
actually produced and so we we try to tell those stories and say look this is what you're
doing to help us this is a real deal this isn't a money grab and we're not you know we're taking
almost 90% of what's coming in and putting it right back into the into the into the hearts of
those who are desperately needing it and so it's just a really great way to celebrate you know
what we feel has been happening what God has done and you know it's it's it's it's it's it's probably
one of my most favorite times of year it's it's one of those things I love it it's great and that it's
also oh it's so nice when we get it done and it pulls it off you know and and it's like we have
we we we hopefully did a good job you know because tomorrow we plan for next year exactly it's
exactly how it goes so yeah so appreciate that the it's always interesting when people live in a
community and then sometimes they'll learn about some national or international company or something
like oh my gosh I had no idea springfield was home of this um you all got that I say new I
guess it's been for several years now up there north of 44 on glenstone yet your reach is
international it is yeah we have military resiliency centers two in Japan uh we have one in
England we have a amazing center a massive center in in Germany also in Wichita and we just
opened up uh it was inside of a 60,000 square foot building the steving cologne clinic that
they just opened they invited us to take 12,000 square feet of that building gave us a cafe and
we are actually doing uh services there we opened up a few months back and it is phenomenal right
outside of Fort Bliss and we're getting ready to do the same thing with them in San Antonio this fall
and they have 22 other locations and and this is what's amazing uh they they also have a foundation
CM Debra's foundation and they said hey we're going to front the funding for you to get inside
this brick and mortar and we're going to take care of uh the first few months of you guys getting
on your feet and then so it really it really fast forwards the opportunity for us to raise funds
for programs and and we're working with local local organizations churches and different groups uh
and right now it's it's been amazing I think we have a plan for the next seven years we might open
10 to 15 new centers and so we're super excited about that well like I said I have
sure that people probably every day dry by there yes um uh your location there on north uh
glenstone 44 and and then just have no concept of the the magnitude of uh of what it is that
you all do it's an impressive thing well thank you about two thousand people a day we engage with
and uh you know out of that we you know we take anywhere from maybe 15 to 50 depending on the day
case management engagements it just depends but uh yeah if you're a veteran or a military member
or just want to find out about us man just don't make an appointment come on by we're at
valley water mill road in glenstone just up there north of praise assembly there uh used to be a
uh used to be a central bank and uh we've turned it into a rezoning center so come on and join us
and then uh finally people that are interested in getting tickets or tables for the gala
yeah so if you would this is the simplest way to go to twj.org real simple the worist journey twj.org
if you type in the worist journey the org you get there to and you'll see right on our homepage
it talks about seventh annual gala there's a picture of south air south juncture our guest
a metal monitor recipient who be who of our presenter and you can click on that for more
information and it gives you everything you need you can sign up for tickets by a table there's
there's still a few sponsorships left if they people are interested in that that would be great
but we'd love to have you and uh we promise it will be a night of inspiration um you'll be thankful
maybe just reminded about the thankfulness of of the country we get to live in um yeah so so
thanks so much and we appreciate you guys and your support and give us this opportunity.
We are honored to be able to do whatever a little bit we can in order to help and
I suspect we'll probably talk to you at least once more before the events.
That'd be great. And what plus it's always just you're just a pleasant guy to be.
Appreciate you to have him by this morning.
Hey thank you so much guys we appreciate you and KSGF is a great friend and we appreciate
the just appreciate the partnership. Kevin Weaver of the worriers journey on springfields talk
101 I'm Nick Reed. Springfields talk 101 the first alert forecast from Ozark's first
meteorologist Tom Schmidt sponsored by JNS Automotive. Today we'll see a slight chance for scattered
showers otherwise mostly cloudy with a high near 82. Tonight showers and thunderstorms with
a low around 45. Four year Saturday a chance for rain in the morning and then mostly sunny in
the afternoon with a high near 59 and taking a look at Sunday areas of frost before
8am otherwise sunny with a high near 68 and let me pull up a cheat sheet here for the Springfield
at livestock marketing center. They are going to host a special cow and bullsail. I know that's
exactly where you will be on Saturday isn't that right? I'm going to be out of town.
Well guess what? Guess what? They have online bidding available.
Oh I know yep so that's true. Turn that back yard and I have to have
hunter hard skates come out and do some reconfiguring in my backyard and I start putting
livestock in there. I bet your neighbors would just love you but for those of you who are
serious Saturday April 18th at 4pm Springfield livestock marketing center once again that
special cow and bullsail and like I mentioned they do have online bidding available. It's used
through DV auction just make sure that you are pre-registered before that sale and if you want to
take a look at some of the cows that are going to be available at that sale just head over to their
Facebook page Springfield livestock marketing center and if you want to check out other upcoming
sales visit their website SpringfieldLives.com and you can check out their calendar of events.
They've got tons of things always happening out there and finally if you need that contact
information just head over to ksgf.com and click on these Sarah's endorsement stab.
I was have tempted moments ago to just pick up the microphones and set it at that table over there
because you imagine you had Kyle Wyatt Tom Marks and Darren Chappell and I saw Darren
Chappell come over tonight I thought oh I can only imagine here we go now but Darren left
I don't know what that means all I heard is in between things of course Darren and Kyle's back
or to us but so Tom we can hear what he's saying and I heard him say all I know is there's no way
a 30-06 so I knew what that conversation was about what here's the thing and I we actually last
week got away without talking about Charlie Kirk what Tom Marks was on and it came back up again
today and I know and I think that's what Darren was sitting down to sort of maybe set him straight
on some stuff I don't know I'm making some presumptions here but the I guess you could call it the
disadvantage I'm at in a conversation like that is I just don't follow it I don't look into it I
don't you know so whenever you have these discussions from people that deep dive on this stuff
whether they are diving into actual information or misinformation or speculation and talking
about well the you know the autopsy said this and that I haven't looked at the autopsy I haven't
looked at the or well this person at TP USA said the and so you know I don't really ever have
a counter in the sense of well yes they said that but over here they said because I just haven't
found any desire to dive into that stuff for the purposes of countering it or learning more about
it and some people will say well that's part of the problem you know it's not like I'm sitting
around not thinking about anything all day there's but there is only so much time in the day
and for a living I have to be consuming information so that I can in turn do this show so I really
only have I have to pick and choose and that's just not an area that I have felt compelled in order
to really deep dive so that I can have more informed discussions about you know the 30 out six
this and the this person that and over here that and so forth and so that's why I think oftentimes
those those conversations don't really they're pretty one dimensional because I don't have too
much to offer on it other than this is what I do to fall back to I I default back to
just this this approach of if you're wanting to kill someone some of the ways that were told
say that it was like Charlie Kirk it wasn't just some anti Charlie Kirk person who was a trans
you know the conventional wisdom the the simplest explanation is you know like so many of these
other left-wing young people particularly those in the trans community they get convinced that
conservatives want them annihilated they get convinced that they want to set up concentration camps
and and and they're already filled with emotional distraught and hate and so in another situation
whether we've seen trans shooters at schools this you know supposed connection to trans with the
roommate boyfriend and all that sort of stuff and and that that isn't the case
but instead that there was some plot by nefarious forces in order to take out a Charlie Kirk in my
mind I think why would you go about seemingly the most convoluted difficult way that was
leave itself open up to so many different conspiracy theories generally when people want someone dead
they do it in a manner that is going to be as undercover as possible and as simple as possible
and I know that the argument was made that oftentimes these things are in public in order to make
a point like you know JFK and I do think some of it is accessibility and I think that's why
oftentimes it isn't some sort of very nefarious sophisticated entities that's why you know
it's in a place that is a college campus in which Charlie Kirk is speaking and easily accessible
because that's sort of the level of sophistication or lack thereof of the person that ended up
shooting him allegedly and I just think to myself if I'm wanting to take out someone
and I don't want to be connected to it I'm going to do it in a way that doesn't have a venue that
leaves so so many different potential questions to be asked I've never known somebody who's an
assassin I've seen movies though you can't necessarily base everything off of a movie but I
think sometimes movies draw from real life inspiration and anytime somebody has been
set up in order to be killed it's usually pretty much as straightforward and simple and clean as
possible not something that would involve all these different people and these tricks and oh
we're going to pretend as if he's shot when actually this and that and so forth and and so it
just from that overly simplistic perspective oftentimes the stuff just doesn't make sense to me
that it would be something so much more complicated anyway they're over there arguing about it
that's why I thought about it I want to come up we're going to take a quick break and then this
FISA extension this is something that we have dealt with before in which the government
desires to continue with the ability to without a warrant spy on communications from foreigners which
by default if they're talking to somebody that's an American citizen you have American citizens
being surveilled being spied on by your own government without a warrant and some people don't
like this it's usually Republicans not the whole party but just a small segment of Republicans
and that continues to be the case what is very interesting about this time around is President
Trump is supportive of continuing to allow the government to utilize these tools even though
arguably at least to our public knowledge there has been no American in which those very tools
were used against in a more nefarious fashion and I would argue they weren't just being used against
him but they were being used against every voter because it was an attempt to disrupt and or undo
the vote of the American people and so to have Trump be the one leading the charge to continue the
utilization of these tools creates a bit of an interesting conversation I'd say one that apparently
behind the scenes according to some reports Tulsi Gabbard was against so all that coming up I'm Nick
Sarah Myers everyone thank you wanted to read a review for my friends over at Forman Mechanical
Heating and Air Linda wrote I called Forman Mechanical Services to work on our air conditioning and
within a couple of hours someone was here Austin quickly found the problem and swiftly fixed it
less than an hour we thought it was going to be so much more expensive than what it was pricing
excellent thank you so much Forman Mechanical and that is exactly what you get with the Forman team
they do have a 24 seven emergency service line by the way so if something pops up after those
normal business hours which that's typically when something does break down the Forman team
you give them a call and they're usually out within an hour or two I used it just you know last
weekend with my water heater and Austin he was out at my house within two hours got it all situated
by Tuesday so very thankful for that emergency service line so whether you are like me maybe have
a water heater issue or maybe you're like Linda and you've got AC issues Forman Mechanical
Heating and Air is the company to go to you can find all of the contact information for Russell and
his team under the Sarah's endorsements tab at ksgf.com I mean almost as a take to make this point because
I know I don't want to set unrealistic expectations but so many of the reviews talk about how quickly
they get a response from Forman Mechanical and I know a lot of times that's because people are
used to calling them and they're like well it's going to be five days before you can get out there
and at the turnaround time just seems to be much quicker with Forman and it's just in my head I feel
like they're the Jimmy John's of they are that's a great way well the way that they get described
by so many people that post their reviews that I just keep thinking of those ads I don't know
the Jimmy John's story actually you know I take it back I've used their emergency service line well
no I called Russell one time and it was during business hours and I had somebody out within the
afternoon I don't know two three hours and then the emergency service line was under two hours so
I mean they really are well the first time that I realized somehow they have earned the reputation
of being so much more responsive so quickly compared to others is friends of mine and it was a
really hot day during the summer and so my friend had texted me and he said hey you know our
air went out and who do you recommend he goes I know it'll probably be a while because you know it
was it was middle of summer like that period of time where they're so busy and so I gave him
you know Russell's info and I was like well Forman Mechanical that's you know you I think if
you reach out over there and I think it was that night he's like I could not believe it they
were they were able to come over and actually fix it I was just shocked at that sort of turn around so
it doesn't surprise me when I continue to hear that but yeah it makes me think of this Jimmy John
commercial where like they hang up the phone and then Jimmy John's story service that there we go
that's it all right so the House extended surveillance powers the AP reporting the House early Friday
so it's like we hours of the morning approved a short-term renewal until April 30th of the
controversial surveillance program used by U.S. spy agencies and a post midnight vote after
Republicans revolted and refused President Donald Trump's push for a longer extension
GOP leaders rushed lawmakers back into session to late Thursday with the series of back to
fourth votes that collapsed in dramatic failure before they quickly pushed ahead the stopgap measure
as they raced to keep the surveillance program running past Monday's expiration date first they
unveiled a new plan that would have extended the program for five years with revisions then they
tried to salvage a shorter 18 month renewal that Trump had demanded and Speaker Mike Johnson had
previously backed some 20 Republicans joined most Democrats in blocking its advance now I know of
course this is hysterical the Democrats which are all about a police state we saw through censorship
and threats and intimidation and imprisonment attempt to imprison Donald Trump so the fact that
they would in step vote against the ability of the country to spy on us well one it's because
Trump wants it but two it doesn't matter to them whether it's legal or not they'll still use
these tools I mean we've learned everything that they did in order to spy on Trump and try to
overthrow his presidency and interfere in his election demonstrated they don't care whether the
law allows him to do it or not so it isn't as if voting against this if it failed that would tie
their hands shortly after 2 a.m. they quickly agreed to a 10 day extension which was agreed to
on a voice vote without a former roll call in ex goes to the Senate which is gabbling for a rare
Friday session as Congress races to keep the surveillance program running Johnson after the late
night action votes had we were very close tonight Democrats blasted it of course of you know which
I mean they're just going to do that and you've got some Republicans that are saying listen some
of the concerns that existed once a time upon a time before we've altered changed it so that
there's criminal liability if people within these agencies illegally spy on Americans which I
suspect most of us don't believe that those individuals would ever be held accountable I mean if
no one's held accountable for what they did to Trump then I don't think the average American is to
secure and feeling as if their rights get violated by way of FISA that somehow those people
are going to be held accountable so to a large degree in all honesty those assurances
don't make much of a difference to me but there's a couple of takeaways on this I find interesting
and it's almost like when Missouri was attempting to pass incentives to keep the chiefs here
remember how quickly they did it it was like I mean we spent how many years trying to get tax reform
how many years we spent trying to get school choice all of these things but man the minute that
they decided they needed to craft some sort of tax incentive to keep the chiefs from leaving it
was like three days they managed to get that thing does a mate they moved mountains and it's a matter
of priorities you look at the reaction the response time to the ability to
continue to use these spying powers through the FISA court versus the reaction time that we've
seen from Republicans particularly in the Senate when it comes to securing our votes by way of
the Save America Act think about that for a moment how long is it that we have been publicly
pushing for this and talking about this something that over 80% of Americans support all of this
discussion and debate about filibuster and whether the filibuster should go away or whether the
filibuster should actually be used instead of pretend filibuster and you got Senator you know
Thune leading things while you just got understand we can't get it done and all this back and forth
and and we're told how impossible it is and then they break to go on recess for a couple of weeks
and so forth but man the minute that it looks as if there will be a slight gap in time that the
government is allowed to legally spy without a warrant on foreigners with the ability to by default
spy on American citizens I mean they are burning that midnight oil they hell or high vote after
vote after vote after vote strong armen back room deals wheeling and dealing I'm sure all sorts
of threats are made but I mean isn't it amazing the difference in passion and conviction
the Republican leadership is showing when it comes to the ability to continue to spy on us
versus taking these simple steps of making sure that people who are in this country illegally
can't vote in elections Springfield's talk 101 broadcasting live from scramblers I'm
Tulsi Gabbard reportedly broke with Trump renewing the deep state spy tool now she had clearly been
very vocal against it largely because of the fact that as soon as she began pushing back as a
Democrat and former Democratic presidential candidate on the Democrat party the government began
spying on her under the Biden administration trailing her from airport to airport
demonstrating that under Democrats they operate this country as a police state and when she got
tapped as DNI she kind of softened that a bit and talked about well the importance of these tools
does exist and while there are some civil liberty concerns she indicated that you know maybe
those had been addressed and so forth but according to a couple of different reports out there
I think it was Politico in fact that at least one if not two sources and familiar with the matter
so take it with a grain of salt but said that she pushed back on Trump said this is not need to be
renewed but here let me tell you what Trump support which I don't like this I don't like the
government's ability to the way I look at it is as horrible as 9-11 was in the horrific deaths and
all that stuff you know when a FISA court is a greater violation of everyone's daily rights
than anything that 9-11 took away from us but that aside this demonstrates that Donald Trump
really truly genuinely does not operate in a vindictive fashion if there is any human being on
this planet that would have greater personal motivation to squash the FISA court to deny the
intelligence community the ability to utilize these tools it would be Donald Trump yet despite the
hell that they put him through all of the lies the attempt to overturn the election and the
amounts of money personally that he has had to put up to defend himself he has put that aside
because of what he feels is in the best interest of the country springfields talk 1041 I'm Nick
